Heute habe ich eine weitere Hippokarte zu zeigen. Diesmal mit dem süßen traurigen Hippo aus dem Hippo-Stempelset von Scrapbook Forever. Ich habe damit eine Tröste-Karte gewerkelt.

Today I have another hippo card to share. This time I've used this cute sad hippo from the hippo stamp set by Scrapbook Forever - and I made a card that should cheer someone up.
Die Karte an sich ist eher einfach gehalten - aber so wirkt sie genau richtig, finde ich. Der weiße Cardstock ist schwarz gemattet und dann auf eine weiße Grundkarte geklebt.
It's a pretty simple card - but I think that makes the different elements pop. The white cardstock is matted with some black cardstock and then glued to a white card base.
Für das "rote Kreuz" habe ich aus einem Stück Kopierpapier ein breites Kreuz herausgeschnitten und es als Schablone auf den Cardstock gelegt. Dann habe ich das Wort Trostpflaster mit roter Tinte so oft versetzt abgestempelt, bis das Kreuz gefüllt war. Anschließend habe ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner die Umrandung per Hand gemalt.
Das Pflaster ist ebenfalls aus dem Stempelset. Ich habe es ausgeschnitten und mit 3D Tape auf die Karte geklebt. In die Mitte kam noch ein kleines Herz, ausgestanzt aus rotem Cardstock.
Den Text - ja, auch aus dem Hippo-Set, habe ich auf ein Banner aus grauem Cardstock gestempelt und über den unteren Teil des Kreuzes geklebt. Rundherum habe ich noch ein paar schwarze Enamel Dots aufgeklebt.
For the "red cross" I've cut a cross shape from a sheet of copy paper and used it as a stencil. Then I've stamped the word "consolation" as often as I needed to fill the cross using red ink. Afterwards I've used a black Sharpie to hand-draw the lines around it.
The band aid is also from the hippo stamp set. I've cut it out and glued it to the card using dimensionals. On top of it I've added a small heart cut from red cardstock.
The saying means "you'll be better soon". I've stamped it onto a banner cut from grey cardstock and glued it across the bottom part of the cross. In the end I've added a few black Enamel Dots.
Und hier ist der süße Hippo in Großaufnahme. Das Pflaster und die Pillen habe ich mir vom Gute Besserung Wichtel "ausgeliehen". Das Pflaster passte genau auf die Backe des Armen. Die Pillen sind einzeln ausgeschnitten und um den Hippo herum verteilt. Der ist wieder mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt.
And here's a close-up of the cute hippo. The band aid and the pills were taken from another stamp set. The band aid had the perfect size to fit his cheek. The pills are cut out individually and glued around the hippo. Again he was glued down with dimensionals.
