Hallo Ihr Lieben!
Halloweenkarten habe ich Euch ja schon einige gezeigt, dieses Jahr - und es kommen noch mehr. Marine vom LawnFawn DT hat, außer Konkurrenz der offiziellen Challenge, zu einer Challenge für monochrome Halloweenkarten aufgerufen. Die Karten müssen einfach mit dem passenden Hashtag in IG hochgeladen werden. Nun, monochrom habe ich dieses Jahr noch keine Halloweenkarte gemacht, und hatte echt Lust drauf. Nun, das schwerste hier war wohl, sich für eine Farbe zu entscheiden. Gleich gefolgt vom vielen Ausschneiden der Motive, aber dazu später mehr. Lila hätte mir gefallen - eine Farbe die bei mir fast nur zu Halloween zum Einsatz kommt. Aber ganz ehrlich, die Lilakombis von Copics gefallen mir meist nicht, so dass die Farbauswahl für eine monochrome Karte zu klein gewesen wäre. Und so bin ich schlussendlich bei Grautönen gelandet.

I already shared a few Halloween cards this year - and there will come more until october 31st. Marine from the LawnFawn DT challenged us to make a monchrome Halloween card and upload it to IG with the matching hashtag. Well, I haven't made a monchrome Halloween card so far this year, and I sounded like fun. Well, the hardest part was to decide on which color to use - directly followed by fussy cutting all the image, but more about that later. I would have loved a purple card, but honestly, I don't like most of the purple Copic combos. And so there wouldn't have been much colors to choose, at least way too few for a monochrome card. And so I went with greys.
Für meine Karte habe ich ein Stück hellgrauen Cardstock als Grundlage genommen. Darauf habe ich dann mit einem Mauer Stencil und Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke und Black Soot das Mauerwerk aufgewischt. Das habe ich bewusst ein wenig fleckig gemacht und die Farben nicht perfekt verblendet. So sieht es verwitteter aus, finde ich. Auf die Mauer habe ich dann schwarze und weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt.
Für die Lichterkette habe ich mich ganz zum Schluss entschieden. Ich bin mir immer noch nicht sicher, ob die nicht einen Tick zu viel war, aber ich brauchte sie für den Spezialeffekt... Die Lichterkette habe ich mit der Mini String of Lights Stanze gemacht. Sie ist aus dunkelgrauem Cardstock gestanzt, die einzelnen Lämpchen habe ich dann noch aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und aufgeklebt.
For this card I started with a piece of light grey cardstock. I used the brick stencil and Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke and Black Soot to add the brick pattern. I didn't blend the colors perfectly on purpose, going after a kind of splotchy look. I think, that makes the wall look kind of weathered. Then I added some small speckles of white and black acrylic paint.
I decided to add the lights at the very end, after the card already felt finished. I'm still not sure if it is a tad bit too much, but I needed it for a special effect.... I used the Mini String of Lights die to die cut the lights from dark grey cardstock. Then I die cut the individual light bulbs from light grey cardstock and glued them onto the strings.
Für das Fenster habe ich die neue Window Frame Stanze von LawnFawn benutzt. Ich habe das Fenster aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und dann das Distress Oxide Pumice Stone Kissen eininge Male direkt darauf gedrückt, damit auch der Fensterrahmen schön verwittert aussieht.
Hinter das Fenster gebe ich Euch einen Blick in die Halloween-Nacht. Für die Landschaft habe ich das Window Scene Winter Stempelset benutzt. Die beiden Bäume links und den Himmel habe ich weggeschnitten und dahinter ein Stück Cardstock gelegt, das ich mit Distress Oxide Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke und Black Soot gewischt habe. Und weil silber ja auch eine Form von grau ist, habe ich für die Sterne am Himmel weiße Acrylfarbe und silberfarbene Schimmer-Watercolors aufgespritzt.
Ich habe so viele Stempel aus verschiedenen Sets verwendet, die liste ich Euch am Ende des Posts genauer auf. Und dabei auch noch ein Wort zum Ausschneiden der Motive: dieses eine Male wünschte ich mir, ich würde immer auch die Dies zu den Motiven kaufen. Das Ausschneiden per Hand hat für all die Motive ewig gedauert. Eigentlich mache ich das gerne, aber nein, in diesem Fall war das weder therapeutisch noch spaßig! ;)
In meiner Szene sind der Mond mit zwei Fledermäusen und ein Spukhaus mit Grabsteinen zu sehen. Und auch eine Hexen-Katze fliegt auf ihrem Besen durch die Luft.
Den Fensterrahmen habe ich mit 3D Tape auf die Szene geklebt und anschließend auch ein wenig dekoriert. Oben rechts in der Ecke hat eine Spinne ihr Netz gebaut. Dafür habe ich eine der Stanzen aus dem Build a House Halloween Add-On Stanzenset aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit einem silbernen Gelpen beglimmert. Den selben Pen habe ich auch verwendet, um das Spinnennetz am Vordach des Hauses anzumalen. Man sieht es jetzt nicht mehr so toll, aber die Farbe kommt eher hin.
Unten auf dem Fensterbrett stehen ein Gruselkürbis, eine Kerze und ein Candy Corn.
Wie gesagt, zum Schluss habe ich die Lichterkette um das Fenster geklebt. Und dann fehlte mir noch ein Text. Eigentlich war dafür ja kein Platz mehr auf der Karte. Aber das heulende Booooo konnte ich dann doch noch unterbringen.
For the window I used the new Window Frame die by LawnFawn. I've die cut the window from black cardstock and then pressed my Distress Oxide Pumice Stone pad several times onto it, to add a weathered look to the window so it matches the wall.
Behind the window you get a look into the Halloween night. For the landscape I used the Window Scene Winter stamp set. I cut off the two trees on the left and the sky and instead placed a piece of cardstock behind the hill and single birch tree. That cardstock I had inked up with Distress Oxide Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. And since silver is just a different type of grey, I used white acrylic paint and silver shimmer watercolors to add some speckles to create a starry night.
I used so many stamps from a lot of different sets for this card, I'll list these at the end of the post. And another word about fussy cutting: for once I really wished I'd also have gotten the matching dies for all these images. It took me forever to fussy cut them all. Usually I don't mind and even enjoy that step of my card making, but no, in this case it was neither therapeutic nor fun! ;)
Behind the window there's the moon with two bats and a haunted house with some gravestones. And also a little cat witch is flying around on her broom.
I glued the window frame onto the scene with foam tape and then decorated it. A spider just built a web in the top right corner. I've die cut that from white cardstock with one of the dies from the Build a House Halloween Add-On die set and then gave it a silvery shine with a silver gel pen. I used the same pen to re-draw the spider web on the house. It isn't that clearly visible anymore, but I like the silvery look of it.
Onto the window sill I've placed a Jack 'o' Lantern, a candle and a candy corn.
As mentioned, I added the string of lights at the end. And then I felt my card needed at least a little text. Well, there wasn't really any room for it, but then I decided a howled Booooo would fit right in the top left corner.
Unter dem Fenster haben die Bewohner des Hauses ordentlich dekoriert. Da gibt es mehr Kürbisse, einer sogar mit Süßigkeiten gefüllt, eine weitere Schüssel voller Süßem, eine Tafel Schokolade, Spinnen, mehr Candy Corns, ein paar Gefäße mit Zaubertränken, zwei Würmer und sogar zwei Knochen. Auch diese Motive sind mit unterschiedlich hohem 3D Tape aufeinander- und auf die Karte geklebt.
Alle Motive sind mit Copics coloriert, und dafür musste ich zur Abwechslung mal nur die Tasche mit den Grau-Tönen auf den Tisch stellen. Sonst liegt immer der komplette Tisch mit Stiften aller Farben voll. Die Highlights sowie einige Details wie z. B. auf einigen der Süßigkeiten, habe ich mit einem weißen Gelpen gemacht.
Under the window the ones that live in that house put up a lot of decorations. There are more pumpkins, one even filled with candies, another bowl full of treats, some chocolat, spiders, more candy corns, a few bottles with potions, two worms and even two bones. Also all of these images are glued on top of each other and onto the card with foam tape in different thicknesses.
All images are colored with Copics - and I only had to bring the bag with my greys onto my table here. Usually my whole desk is full of markers in all different colors after I finished a coloring. For the highlights and some details, like on some of the candies, I used a white gel pen.

Wenn es so richtig dunkel wird, leuchtet die Lichterkette! Man mag es jetzt sehr genau nehmen und behaupten, dass meine Karte dann aber nicht mehr monochrom ist. Aber ja nur, wenn es dunkel ist.
Für das Leuchten habe ich die einzelnen Lämpchen der Lichterkette vor dem Aufkleben mit der Glow in the Dark Paste von LawnFawn bestrichen. Die hat eigentlich einen gelblichen Ton, durch das Grau, aus dem ich die Lämpchen gestanzt habe, wirkt sie aber im Hellen immer noch grau. Und in Dunkelheit gibt das Grau unter der Paste einen eher bläulichen Look.
When it gets really dark, the lights start to glow! Well, you could say that this makes my card a non-monochrome one, but that's only when it's dark.
Before glueing the individual bulbs onto the string of lights I covered them with the Glow in the Dark Paste by LawnFawn. It originally has a kind of yellow-ish tone, but since I've die cut the bulbs from grey cardstock, this shimmers through. So my lights are still grey in daylight and get some kind of blue-ish touch in the darkness.
