Ich hatte es letzte Woche ja versprochen - heute wird es endlich weihnachtlich!
Dass der Weihnachtsmann Helfer hat, ist ja bekannt. Man denkt da aber eher an Elfen und Rentiere. Wusstet Ihr, dass auch ein Dackel zu seinem Team gehört? Den Beweis liefert diese Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stamping-Fairies Blog zeige.

I promised it last week - it's getting christmas-sy today!
I guess we all know that Santa has some helpers. We all think of elves and reindeers here. But did you know that also a dachshund is in heas team! I am proofing it with this card, that I'm sharing over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today.
Fokus meiner Karte sollte natürlich die winterliche Szene sei. Deswegen habe ich dahinter einfach ein Stück roten Cardstock gesetzt, den schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
Unten auf den roten Cardstock habe ich den Text mit weißem Embossingpulver aufgebracht. Dachshund ist der englische Name von Dackel - und in diesem Text natürlich an das bekannt "dashing" angelehnt. Ich finde das Wortspiel klasse, wie so oft....
Of course I wanted my winter scene to be the main focus on this card. So I put some red cardstock behind it, matted it black and glued it onto a white note card.
Along the bottom edge I've white heat embossed the saying. Once again I am in love with this pun!
Und hier sieht man den Weihnachtsdackel genauer. Er ist aus dem Stempelset Jolly Molly von MFT. Offenbar konnte er sich nicht ganz entscheiden, ob er hier nun Santa oder Rentier spielt - ich liebe den Weihnachtsmann-Mantel und die Rentier-Geweihe, mit denen er ausgestattet ist!
Er zieht einen Schlitten, den ich mit einer der Stanzen aus dem Sled Duo Stanzenset gestanzt habe. Damit er farblich gut zum Dackel passt, habe ich ihn aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und, ebenso wie alle anderen Motive, mit Copics coloriert. Gefüllt ist der Schlitten mit vielen Geschenken, die aus dem Stempelset Put the Jolly in the Holidays sind. Vielleicht war der Dackel ein wenig zu schnell unterwegs, vielleicht war der Schlitten einfach zu voll. Offenbar ist ein Päckchen heruntergefallen. Wie gut dass der kleine Vogel, der den Dackel begleitet, das gleich bemerkt und das Paket eingesammelt hat. Auch das Vögelchen ist aus dem Jolly Molly Stempelset.
Als Zug-Geschirr habe ich ein Stück goldener Girlande verwendet, die ich in meinem Vorrat hatte. Ich finde, das gibt nochmal einen extra festlichen Touch.
Der arme Dackel muss ganz schön durch den hohen Schnee stapfen. Ich habe die verschneite Landschaft mit den Stitched Hillside Stanzen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt. Im Hintergrund stehen noch einige verschneite Tannen, ebenfalls aus dem Put the Jolly in the Holidays Set.
Den Himmel habe ich mit Distress Oxide Iced Spruce, Weathered Wood und Black Soot gewischt. Iced Spruce und Weathered Wood sind wirklich sehr ähnlich, eine der Farben hätte eigentlich komplett gereicht. Für die Sterne habe ich erst ein paar Wassertropfen, anschließend goldene Schimmer Watercolors über den gewischten Hintergrund gespritzt.
And here you get a closer look at the christmas dachshund. He's from the Jolly Molly stamp set by MFT. Seems like he wasn't able to decide if he's Santa or reindeer - I love his coat and the antlers that he decided to put on!
He's pulling a sleigh, that I cut with one of the Sled Duo dies. To make it fit perfectly with Santa's coat I've die cut it from white cardstock and colored it in with my Copics, which I also used for all the other images on this card. The sleigh is filled with lots of presents from the Put the Jolly in the Holidays stamp set. Either the dachsund-santa-reindeer went a bit too fast of there was simply too much loaded on the sleigh, but it seems like a present fell off. Luckily the little bird, that's acompanying the dog, saw that and collected it. Also the bird is from the Jolly Molly stamp set.
As the reins I used some frizzy golden ribbon that I had in my stash. I think that adds an extra festive touch to the card.
The poor dog has to walk through a very thick layer of snow. I've die cut two of the Stitched Hillside dies from white cardstock and glued them on top of each other with foam tape. In the background there are a few snowy trees, also from the Put the Jolly in the Holidays set.
I made the sky with Distress Oxide Iced Spruce, Weathered Wood and Black Soot. Iced Spruce and Weathered Wood look so similar, most likely one of those colors would have beenenough. For the stars I first spritzed some water, then some golden metallic watercolor over the finished sky.
