Geburtstags-Cupcake unter Glas

Heute habe ich einen Geburtstags-Cupcake unter Glas für Euch... So bleibt er zumindest frisch, bis ich die Karte verschicke!;)

Today I have a birthday cupcake under a glass cloche for you.... At least that will keep it fresh until I send out this card. ;)

 

Ich hatte mir im Dezember die Christmas Cloche Stanzen von Concord and 9th bestellt - da sie hier nirgends zu kriegen waren, in den USA. Eigentlich wollte ich sie für meine Weihnachtstags nutzen, dafür kamen sie aber zu knapp vor Weihnachten an. Also habe ich sie hier eingeweiht und einfach eine Geburtstagskarte damit gemacht. Man kann ja alles mögliche unter die Glasglocke packen.

Aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks habe ich die Glasglocke und den Boden ausgestanzt und den Cardstock dann mit roter Metallic Watercolor bespritzt.

 

I had ordered the Christmas Cloche die set by Concord and 9th some time in december - since it was out of stock everywhere here in Europe I ordered it from the US. I had planned to use them for my christmas tags, but they arrived too close to christmas. So I used them here for the first time to make a birthday card. Luckily you can put whatever you like under/inside the glass.

I die cut the cloche and the stand from a piece of white cardstock and then flicked some red metallic watercolor onto the cardstock.

 

 Und die Stanze bietet sich natürlich an, einen Shaker damit zu machen. Das habe ich auch hier gemacht. Hinter die Ausstanzung habe ich hellblauen Cardstock geklebt. Der war mir dann fast ein wenig zu fad, da ich aber bereits die Deko aufgeklebt hatte, konnte ich kein Muster oder ähnliches mehr aufstempeln. Also habe ich beschlossen, einen Shaker zu machen, den ich kleinen Herzen in rot und pink sowie silbernen Konfetti gefüllt. 

Hinter  den weißen Cardstock habe ich natürlich etwas Folie geklebt, darauf kam dann ein Rahmen aus etwas dunkler blauem Cardstock als der, den ich ihm Hintergrund benutzt habe. Außerdem konnte ich so den Rand des Bodens aufkleben. 

Of course this die is perfect to make a shaker card - and that's what I did here. I put some light blue cardstock behind the cut out. It looked a bit too plain to me, but I had already glued down my decorations so stamping a soft pattern onto it wasn't an option anymore. That's when I decided to make a shaker, that I filled with red and pink heart confetti and some silver hexagon confetti. 

Of course I put some acetate behind the white cardstock, then added a frame cut from cardstock a bit darker blue than I had used for the background. The acetate also left me a surface to attach the brim of the stand.

In der Glasglocke befindet sich der bereits erwähnte Cupcake. Nun, kennt Ihr das - Ihr habt eine Stanze, die Ihr jahrelang nicht benutzt habt und entscheidet Euch, Euch von Ihr zu trennen. Und genau danach hättet Ihr sie gebraucht. So ging es mir hier mit einer Cupcake Stanze. Also habe ich etwas improvisiert und den Wrapper und die Kerze mit dem Cupcake Set von StudioLight gestanzt. Den Wrapper habe ich dann um einiges kleiner geschnitten. Die Sahnehaube ist aus dem Hot Cocoa Cup Set von MFT und der Schoko-Cupcake darunter ist mit der selben Sahnetupfen-Stanze gemacht, diesmal aus braunem Cardstock. Ich habe alle Teile mit Copics ein wenig schattiert. Statt einer Flamme, die Kerze würde unter Glas ja eh nicht brennen, habe ich ein kleines rotes Herz aufgeklebt.

Oben an der Glasglocke habe ich eine dicke Schleife, die mit der Glocke im Set kommt, angebracht. Sie ist aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen roten Cardstocks gestanzt und ebenfalls mit Copics schattiert. 

Inside the cloche there's the cupcake. Well, did it ever happen to you that you had a die for years and never used it so you decide to purge it, only to need just that exact die only a bit later. That's what happened to me here (again) and I had to do a bit of improvising. I used the Cupcake die set by StudioLight to cut the cupcake wrapper and candle, then had to cut the wrapper a lot smaller. The cream puff is from the Hot Cocoa Cup set by MFT and the cupcake dough is made with the same die, this time using brown cardstock. I shaded all pieces with my Copics. Instead of a flame, that wouldn't burn under the cloche anyway, I used a little red heart.

To the top of the cloche I attached a big bow, that comes in the same set as the cloche. I die cut it from two different tones of red cardstock and again shaded it with Copics.

Ich wollte ein gestanztes happy birthday als Text - falls jemand eine Stanze kennt, die ein schön geschwungenes birthday mit dünnen Linien stanzt, kennt, dann lasst es mich bitte wissen. Ich finde einfach keine, die mir gefällt. Also habe ich das Birthday aus der Cover Plate Birthday Stanze von PapertreyInk verwendet. Das ist aber eigentlich zu breit für eine deutsche Standardkarte und ich musste das Ende des y wegschneiden. Das happy habe ich mit den Birdie Brown Alphabet and Numbers Stanzen von MFT gestanzt - beide Texte aus schwarzem Cardstock. Dannn habe ich sie quer über die Karte geklebt.

I wanted to use a die cut happy birthday - if anyone happens to know of a nice scripty birthday word die with thin lines, please let me know, I just can't find one I like. So I cut out the birthday from the Cover Plate Birthday by PapertreyInk. But that's too large for a german standard sized card and I had to cut off the end of the y. The happy I die cut with the Birdie Brown Alphabet and Numbers die set by MFT - both from black cardstock. Then I adhered the text across my card.

Den Cupcake habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den hellblauen Hintergrund geklebt, den weißen Cardstock darüber dann mit aufgedoppeltem 3D Tape. So klebt der Cupcake nicht am Glas und die Shakerteile können auch davor herumfliegen. (Also rein theoretisch, denn irgendwie scheinen meine alle hinter dem Cupcake zu verschwinden.)

Als Deko habe ich noch einige rote Pailetten aufgeklebt und dann alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt. 

I attached the cupcake with thin foam tape to the light blue background, then used doubled up foam tape to put the white cardstock down. This way the cupcake doesn't touch the glass and the shaker pieces can also move on top/in front of it. (That was the theory, somehow all my shaker pieces seem to vanish behind the cupcake.)

I added a few red sequins as decoration and then glued everything onto a white note card.
