Mit dieser Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stampcorner Blog zeige, machen wir einen Ausflug ans Meer - schließlich steht der Sommer vor der Tür und man kann schon mal vorsichtig Meerluft schnuppern, quasi als Einstimmung.

With this card, that I'm sharing over on the Stampcorner Blog today, we are making a trip to the beach - summer isn't far away anymore and so a bit of a sea breeze, as a start to get used to it, doesn't hurt.

Ich wollte unbedingt einen sommerlich-zarten Beachlook für meine Karte.

Also habe ich im Hintergrund einfach ein Stück Designpapier aus einem der Paper Pads von Stampcorner benutzt - die Papierboote passten so schön zum Motiv. Da es mir aber nur weiß und schwarz etwas zu fad war, habe ich es durch etwas Distress Ink Salvaged Patina, gemixt mit Wasser, gezogen, so dass es ganz leicht eingefärbt wurde. Designpapier ist jetzt nicht unbedingt auf Ink Smooshing ausgelegt und die Farbe hat an einigen Stellen kleine "Blasen" geworfen, aber sonst hat es das ganz gut weggesteckt und ich finde den Effekt sogar ganz schön.

 

I wanted a summerish beach look for my card.

So I used a piece of patterned paper in the background - the paper boats go great with the image. But since it seemed a bit boring just in black and white I dragged it through some Distress Ink Salvaged Patina, mixed with water, to lightly color it, at least at the top. Patterned paper is not made for ink smooshing and so the ink created some kind of "bubbles" in a few areas, but it worked pretty well, And I actually like that splotchy look.

 

 

Dann habe ich ein Rechteck aus Watercolor Cardstock geschnitten und mit Distress Oxides gewischt: unten mit Antique Linen und Scorched Timber - momentan meine Lieblingskombi für Sand -, den Himmel mit Salvaged Patina und Peacock Feathers. Auf den Sand habe ich dann ein wenig mit Wasser verdünntes Scorched Timber und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. Und weil ich gerade beim Wischen war, habe ich noch ein weiteres Stück Cardstock auf die selbe Weise gewischt, auf die ich den Sand gemacht habe. Daraus habe ich dann ein Oval sowie die oberen Teile meiner Strandgräser gestanzt. Die hatte ich zuvor nur aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, das war mir dann aber insgesamt doch zu dunkel.

Auf dem Oval sitzt Paulchen, der kleine Bär mit seinem Papierboot, der hier einen Ausflug ans Meer gemacht hat. Er ist mit Copics coloriert, dafür habe ich zu eher gedeckten Farben gegriffen, die gut zum Look der Karte passen. Die Highlights sind mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht. Neben Paulchen habe ich zwei Muscheln gesetzt, die ich ebenfalls aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert habe.

Außerdem habe ich mit den Puffy Clouds von MFT noch zwei weiße Wolken gestanzt und sie auf den Himmel geklebt. Zwischen die Wolken habe ich ein paar Seevögel aus dem Stempelset Matrosenfreunde 2 aufgestempelt.

Und weil irgendwie alles auf der Karte vertikal ausgerichtet ist, fehlte mir noch ein horizontales Element. Also habe ich den rechtigen Seilrahmen von Marianne Design aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, die eine längere Seite davon abgeschnitten und ebenfalls mit Copics schattiert. Dieses Seil samt Knoten habe ich dann zwischen Szene und Text aufgeklebt.

Das Rechteck mit den Motiven habe ich dann schwarz gemattet und auf das Designpapier geklebt.

 

Then I cut a rectangle from watercolor cardstock and inked it with Distress Oxides: with Antique Linen and Scorched Timber - currently my favorite color combo for sand - at the bottom and the sky I did with Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers. I added splatters with some watered down Scorched Timber and white acrylic paint onto the sand. And since I was already at it I also treated another piece of white cardstock the same way I created the sand. From this I die cut an oval and the tops of my beach grass. I had die cut those from black cardstock before but it looked too dark just in black.

I also die cut two clouds using the Puffy Clouds dies by MFT and glued them onto the sky. Next to the clouds I stamped a few flying sea birds.

On the oval I put Paulchen, the little bear with his paper boat, that made a trip to the beach. I colored him with Copics and went with more muted colors, that went well with the look of my card. I used a white gel pen for the hightlights. Next to the bear I put two sea shells, that I cut from white cardstock and colored with Copics. 

And then I thought, that there are too many vertical elements and wanted to add another horizontal one. So I die cut the rectangle rope frame by Marianne Design from white cardstock, cut off one of the longer sides and shaded it with Copics. Then I adhered the rope with the know between the scene and the text across the card.

I matted the rectangle black and glued it onto the patterned paper.

Ebenfalls aus dem wie den Sand gewischten Cardstock habe ich dann das neue Strandzeit gestanzt. Das Wort habe ich mit zwei weiteren Stanzteilen hinterlegt, leicht versetzt schwarz gemattet und auf den unteren Teil meiner Karte geklebt.

Also from the cardstock inked in the sandy look I die cut the new "beach time" die. I put two more white die cuts behind it, put a layer of black cardstock a bit offset under it and then glued it to the bottom of my card.

Das Rechteck samt Motiven habe ich mit 3D Tape auf das Designpapier geklebt und auch hinter den Gräsern, dem Bären und dem Oval befindet sich 3D Tape. Dann habe ich alles schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I adhered the rectangle with the images with foam tape to the patterned paper and also put foam tape behind the grass, the bear and the oval. Then I matted my card panel black and adhered it to a white note card.
