Wir hier in Bayern gehören ja immer zu den letzten, bei denen die Schule (wieder) startet. Und für viele Kinder bedeutet das auch, dass der allererste Schultag ansteht. Als Geschenk zur Einschulung habe ich diese Box gewerkelt, die ich heute auf dem Stampcorner Blog zeige.

We here in Bavaria are always among the last ones to (re)start school. And many children are looking forward to their very first day of school. As a gift for one of those childern I made this pencil shaped box, that I'm sharing over on the Stampcorner Blog today.
Die Stiftebox ist wirklich einfach gemacht und ich gebe Euch nachher eine ganz kurze Anleitung dafür. Meine Box ist vielleicht ein klein wenig zu hoch geraten, aber zumindest passt so auch ordentlich was rein... ;)
This pencil shaped box is really easy to make and I will give you a quick tutorial in this post. My box may have turned out a bit too tall, but at least that leaves plenty of room for some goodies.... ;)

Für den Grundkörper habe ich ein Stück gelben Cardstocks mit den Maßen 19 x 15 cm zugeschnitten und die lange Kante bei 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 und 18 cm gefalzt, die kurze bei 1 cm. Den 1 cm breiten Streifen habe ich eingeschnitten und nach hinten umgeklebt, um den Rand der Box etwas zu verstärken. An der anderen Kante habe ich jeweils mit einer Kreisstanze einen kleinen Bogen in jedes der 3-cm-Segmente gestanzt um den typischen Stiftlook zu erzeugen.
Den Radierer am Ende des Stiftes habe ich aus einem Stück rosafarbenen Cardstock mit den Maßen 19 x 5,5 cm auf die selbe Art gemacht. Der einzige Unterschied hier ist, dass die kurze Seite auf beiden Seiten bei 1 cm gefalzt wird. Einmal wird der Rand wieder nach innen umgeklebt, die Laschen auf der anderen Seite halten den Deckel, den ich aus einem Sechseck mit 3cm Kantenlänge gemacht habe. Ihr könnt hierfür auch einfach den Radierer aufstellen und die Form mit einem Bleistift nachzeichnen und anschließend ausschneiden.
Aus silberfarbenem Spiegelcardstock habe ich einen Streifen mit 20 x 2,5 cm zugeschnitten und mit dem Falzbein längs einige Rillen eingeprägt. Die sind nur für die Optik. Dann habe ich diesen Teil so um den Radierer gewickelt, dass der Hauptteil oben übersteht. Sollte der Streifen etwas zu lang sein, könnt Ihr den Überstand einfach wegschneiden. In diesen Streifen wird später der gelbe Stiftteil hineingeschoben.
Das komplizierteste am Stift ist noch die Spitze aus Holz. Die besteht aus braunem Cardstock von 19 x 4,5 cm. Der wird an der langen Seite genauso wie der Stift gefalzt, an der kurzen Seite bei 2 cm. Dann müsst Ihr bei den längeren Segmenten an der Kante jeweils deren Mitte markieren und diese Mitte mit zu den Punkten falzen, an denen sich die Längsfalzungen mit der Querfalzung treffen. So entstehen 6 Dreiecke. Schneidet diese auf jeweils einer Seite entlang der Falzung, an der anderen mit etwas Abstand ein, um auf einer Seite Klebelaschen zu erhalten. Dann könnt Ihr auch die Stiftspitze zusammen- und oben mit dem 2 cm breiten Streifen in den Stift kleben. Ich habe dann noch mit einem schwarzen Marker die Spitze des Stiftes angemalt, so dass er wie ein richtiger Bleistift aussieht.
For the base I cut a piece of yellow cardstock measuring 19 x 15cm and scored the long side at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 cm. The short one I scored at 1 cm. I made little cuts into the 1 cm wide strip, folded those pieces over and glued them down to make the edge of the box a bit sturdier. On the other side I used a circle punch to round the top edge of each segment to create the typical pencil look.
The eraser on the end of the pencil I made from a piece of pink cardstock of 19 x 5,5 cm. It is scored the same way as the yellow piece, only adding a 1 cm wide strip to both edges of the short side. One of them I folded back again and glued them down, the other flaps I used to adhere a hexagon with 3 cm long sides as the bottom of the box. You can also simply put the eraser up, trace it's shape and cut the hexagon that way.
From silver mirror cardstock I cut a strip of 20 x 2,5 cm and added a few score lines lengthwise. Those are just design elements. I wrapped that piece around the eraser, making the most part of it stand over the edge of the eraser. Later the yellow piece will be put into it to close the box and create the whole pencil.
The most complicated part is the wooden top. It's made from a piece of brown cardstock measuring 19 x 4,5 cm. The long side gets scored just like the pencil base, the short side at 2 cm. Then you have to look for the centers of the longer segments and mark it at the edge. Then you have to make scoring lines from those centers to the point where the vertical score lines meet the horizontal one to create 6 triangles. Cut those triangles just at the score lines on one side, with a bit of a distance to the score lines on the other side of each triangle to create some flaps to glue the pencil top together. Glue it together and put the 2 cm strip inside the top of the pencil and glue it down. I then used a black marker to color the tip of my pencil to make it look like a real pencil.
So ein echter Bleistift ist natürlich immer bedruckt. Ich habe hier das Toll aus dem Mega Set und darunter ein Viel Glück aus dem Kleine Worte Set mit Memento Peanut Brittle aufgestempelt und das toll mit Copics ein wenig schattiert.
Of course a real pencil always has some kind of script on it. I stamped a "great" and underneath a "good luck" with Memento Peanut Brittle onto the pencil and used Copics to lightly shade the word "toll".

So, und dann wurde ich ein wenig kreativ.
Der kleine Schulanfänger ist der Bär aus dem Set Frühling - die Schnecke auf dem Kopf und den Besen habe ich beim Stempeln wegmaskiert. Dafür habe ich dann nur die Brille des Häschen Vallin aufgestempelt. Mit einem Memento-Marker kann man wunderbar nur ausgewählte Bereiche eines Motivs einfärben - und genau das habe ich hier getan.
Dann habe ich den Bären mit Copics coloriert, Highlights mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt und den Bären ausgeschnitten. Die Brillengläser sind außerdem mit Glossy Accents überzogen.
Für die Schultüte habe ich per Hand einfach ein schmales, langes Dreieck aus gelb-weißem Cardstock geschnitten und oben ein kleines Stück Krepp-Papier leicht gerafft von hinten dagegen geklebt. Da hatte ich tatsächlich ein kleines Stück hier. Das habe ich dann mit rosafarbenem Twine zusammengebunden und die Schultüte dem Bären in die Hand gegeben.
Der Text ist aus dem Set Glaub an Dich. Ich habe das "Erste Klasse ich komme" wieder mit Peanut Brittle auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und ausgeschnitten. Auf ein extra Stück Cardstock habe ich dann den Papierflieger mit Angel Pink abgestempelt und die Fluglinie mit schwarzer Tinte dahinter sowie einmal neben den Text gestempelt. Flugzeug und Linie habe ich dann ausgeschnitten und neben den Text geklebt, so dass der Papierflieger übersteht. Den Text habe ich dann noch schwarz hinterlegt.
And then I got a bit creative.
The image is the garden bear from the Frühling set - I masked off the snail on his head and the broom, he's holding, when stamping the image. Instead I gave him the glasses from the Häschen Vallin set. With a Memento marker you can easily ink just the parts of an image, you want to stamp - and that's what I did here.
Then I colored the bear with Copics, added highlights with a white gel penand cut him out. His glasses I also covered with Glossy Accents.
The "Schultüte" he's holding is something, every german child gets on his very first day of school. They are filled with useful stuff for school, candies and some - more or less - small gifts. I simply cut a long, thin triangle from yellow and white carstock and adhered a small piece of white crepe paper to the back. I really found a little piece in my stash. Then I tied the crepe together with a piece of pink twine and let the bear hold the Schultüte.
The text means "first grade, here I come". I stamped it with the Peanut Brittle ink onto white cardstock. On a different piece of white cardstock I stamped the paper plane with Angel Pink ink, the trail with black ink. The trail I also stamped under the text. I cut out the paper plane and trail and glued it next to the text, making the trail continuous and let the plane fly off the text panel. Then I matted the text with black cardstock.
Und so sieht die Box geöffnet aus.
Ich habe den Bären mit dickem 3D Tape, denText mit dünnem 3D Tape dahinter auf den Stift geklebt. Dann habe ich noch etwas weißes Band um den silbernen Teil des Stiftes gewickelt und zu einer Schleife gebunden.
And this is the opened box.
I adhered the bear to the pencil with thick, the text with thin foam tape. Around the silver part of the pencil I wrapped a piece of white ribbon and tied it to a bow.
