Autumn Greetings

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Mit Herbstkarten haben ich irgendwie fast immer das selbe Problem: sie sind nicht groß genug um genug Platz für all die herbstlichen Elemente, die ich gerne unterbringen würde, auch wirklich unterzubringen. So ging es mir auch hier. Und weil ich ungern größere Karten mache, musste ich auf Eicheln, Kastanien und Co eben verzichten. Die dürfen dann auf die nächste Karte hüpfen.

Somehow I - nearly - always have the same problem with fall cards: there's just not enough room to add all the elements I want to use. It happened again here. And since I don't like making anything larger than A2 sized card I had to skip all those acorns, buckeyes etc and will keep those for a future card.

Ich habe hier meine Distress Spray Stains ausgepackt und wild drauflos gesprüht. Eigentlich hatte ich auch einen Hintergrund damit gemacht, das wurde dann aber doch zu wild und er darf dann wohl für die Kastanien-Eichel-Karte zum Einsatz kommen. 

Stattdessen habe ich den Herbstlaub-Hintergrund von Create a Smile gold auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und anschließend weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

I brought out my Distress Spray Stains here and really got wild. I also had made a sprayed background with them, but it all became too busy and I might use it for that acorns-and-buckeyes-card later. 

Instead I gold heat embossed the Herbstlaub background by Create a Smile onto a piece of black cardstock and then added white splatters.

Wenn Ihr Euch die Deko auf der Karte anseht, versteht Ihr sicherlich, warum Eicheln und Co einfach nicht mehr draufgepasst haben. Trotzdem ist hier so einiges los. Und damit sich das ein wenig besser vom Hintergrund abhebt, habe ich mit einem der Essential Arches von Spellbinders diesen Bogen aus Vellum gestanzt und hinter die gestanzte Deko gelegt. 

Für den feinen goldenen Rahmen habe ich einfach die nächst kleinere Stanze auf das Stanzteil aufgelegt und den Rand mit einem goldenen Gelstift nachgemalt.

When you take a look at the decoration of this card you might understand why there was no room for acorns and co. But there's still a lot going on here. To make that pop a bit more from the background I used one of the Essential Arches dies by Spellbinders to cut that arch from vellum, then put it behind the decorations.

To add the thin gold frame to the arch I simply put down the next smaller die and used a gold gel pen to trace it.

Hier habe ich einen wilden Mix an Stanzen von LawnFawn (Kürbisse), Magnolia (Blätter, Weizen, Efeuranke), HeroArts (Farne), Gummiapan (Pilze), StudioLight (Blumen) und YvonneCreations (Sonnenblume) kombiniert. Alle Teile habe ich aus Watercolor Cardstock gestanzt und dann mit den Sprays und Wasser eingefärbt. Ich habe Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge, Lumberjack Plaid, Spiced Marmalade, Gathered Twigs, Squeezed Lemonade, Weathered Wood, Bundled Sage, Twisted Citron und Rustic Wilderness benutzt - ich übernehme aber keine Garantie, dass ich nicht ein oder zwei Farben hier in der Liste vergessen habe...

Nach dem Trocknen habe ich nur der Basis der Kürbisse und der Sonnenblume ein klein wenig Struktur mit Copics gegeben.

Here I used a wild mix of dies by LawnFawn (pumpkins), Magnolia (leaves, wheat, ivy), HeroArts (ferns), Gummiapan (mushrooms), StudioLight (flowers) and YvonneCreations (sunflower). I die cut all pieces from watercolor cardstock and then colored them with the Distress Sprays and water. I used Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge, Lumberjack Plaid, Spiced Marmalade, Gathered Twigs, Squeezed Lemonade, Weathered Wood, Bundled Sage, Twisted Citron and Rustic Wilderness - but I don't give any guarantee for not having forgotten one or two colors in this list...

After all the pieces had dried I used Copics to only add some detail to the bottom of the pumpkins and the sunflower. 

Oben links auf dem Vellum habe ich meinen Text angebracht. Der ist aus dem Autumn Blessings Stempelset von MFT und gold auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Ich habe beide Worte einzeln mit der Schere ausgeschnitten und mit einem feinen weißen Gelstift weiße Linien an die Buchstaben gemalt. Ich finde, gold auf schwarz embosst ist immer eher schwer lesbar, die weißen Striche machen es irgendwie leichter.

Über dem Text habe ich zwei übrig gebliebene Blätter aufgeklebt.

To the top left of the vellum arch I added my text. It's from the Autumn Blessings stamp set by MFT and gold heat embossed onto black cardstock. I cut out both words individually with my scissors and added a few white lines with a fine white gel pen. I think it's always a bit hard to read text that was gold embossed onto black cardstock. The white lines makes it a bit easier.

Behind the word autumn I tucked two left over leaves.

Die Stanzteile habe ich in drei Lagen auf das Vellum geklebt: den hell colorierten Kürbis samt Blättern mit dickem 3D Tape, den orangefarbenen Kürbis samt Blättern und Pilz mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Die anderen Elemente sind direkt auf das Vellum geklebt. Auch den Text habe ich mit 3D Tape hinterlegt. Und das befindet sich dann auch - versteckt hinter den Stanzteilen - unter dem Vellum, so dass es - mit dem Hintergrund - fünf verschiedene Ebenen auf der Karte gibt. 

Als Deko habe ich noch einige goldene Perlen aufgeklebt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

I adhered the die cuts in three layers onto the vellum: the light colored pumpkin including the leaves I popped up with thick foam tape, the orange pumpkin including the leaves and mushrooms with thin foam tape. All the other elements I glued directly onto the vellum. I put some foam tape behind the text as well - and then some, hidden behind the die cuts, behind the vellum. So counted in the background this card is made from 5 layers.

I added a few gold pearls as decoration, then adhered the card panel to a white note card.
