Eine schwere Geburt

An dieser Karte bin ich sage und schreibe zwei Wochen gesessen. Natürlich mit Unterbrechungen, aber sie wollte sich einfach nicht fertig anfühlen - und mit dem Ergebnis bin ich auch nicht so recht zufrieden...

I sat two weeks on this card. Of course not 24/7 but it never felt right - and even now I am still not entirely happy with it...

An dem Briefmarken-Hype, den WaffleFlower mit seinen Stempeln, Stencils und Stanzen ausgelöst hat, kommt momentan wohl kaum jemand vorbei. Und auch ich habe mir das Postage Collage Beach Days Stencilset gekauft. Die kleinen Motive sind aber auch süß und wirklich schnell gestenciled. Da verließen sie mich dann aber. Denn die Postage Collage Stanze habe ich nicht. Und das mit der Anordnung der dann - übrigens schief - ausgestanzten Briefmarken wollte auch nicht so recht klappen....

Der Hintergrund ist mit dem Barn Wood Planks Stanzenset von HoneyBeeStamps gemacht. Ich habe die Holzbretter aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Oxide in zwei verschiedenen Brauntönen und etwas Salvaged Patina gewischt. Da es so lange her ist, dass ich diesen Teil der Karte gemacht habe, kann ich mich nicht mal mehr an die genauen Farben erinnern. Dann habe ich noch ein weißes Stempelkissen vorsichtig darüber gezogen. So entsteht ein toller verwitterter Look.

Die Holzplanken habe ich dann direkt aneinander auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks geklebt.

Darauf habe ich dann ein Stück Netz geklebt, das ich mit einer Stanze von MarianneDesign aus weißem Cardstock ausgestanzt habe.

I guess no one can escape the postage hype, WaffleFlower created with their stamps, stencils and dies. And also I ordered the Postage Collage Beach Days stencil. Those little images are just too cute. But that's where I was at a loss. Because I don't have the Postage Collage die. And arranging the - crooked cut - individual stamps didn't work out either.

The background is made with the Barn Wood Planks die set by HoneyBeeStamps. I die cut them from white cardstock and then inked them with two different shades of brown Distress Oxide and some Salvaged Patina. Since it took me so long to finish the card I don't remember the actual colors I used. Then I used a white pigment ink pad and lightly dragged it over the cardstock to create this wonderful weathered look. 

I adhered the wood planks to a piece of white cardstock, putting them directly next to each other.

I then glued a fishing net onto the background, that I made from white cardstock with a die by MarianneDesign.

Auch die kleinen Szenen sind mit Distress Oxide gewischt. Ich weiß, dass ich Salty Ocean für den Himmel, Antique Linen und Scorched Timber für den Sand, Hickory Smoke auf den weißen Elementen, Mustard Seed und - ich glaube - Spiced Marmalade verwendet. Das Wasser habe ich mit Salvaged Patina und einem weiteren Blauton gemacht. An den Übergang von Meer zu Sand auf der kleinen Briefmarke oben rechts habe ich mit einer Palette ein wenig Paste von Ranger aufgetragen um Meeresschaum zu kreieren.

Dann habe ich die kleinen Elemente mit dem Postage Collage Stempelset aufgestempelt, teilweise auch auf den Hintergrund.

Also the little scenes are made with Distress Oxides. I remember to have used Salty Ocean for the sky, Antique Linen and Scorched Timber for the sand, Hickory Smoke on the white elements, Mustard Seed and - I believe - Spiced Marmalade. The ocean I made with Salvaged Patina and another shade of blue. With a palette knife I applied a bit of white paste by Ranger between the ocean and the sand on the top right stamp to create some foam.

Then I stamped the little details with stamps from the Postage Collage stamp set onto the stamps using black ink, in a few places also continueing the images onto the background.

Die lange Briefmarke mit der Möwe unten rechts wirkte etwas zu fad. Also habe ich der Möwe hier noch einen Bucket Hat aus dem Dad and Me Stempelset von LawnFawn aufgesetzt - schließlich will sie in der Sommerhitze keinen Hitzschlag kriegen! Den Hut habe ich per No-Line Coloring mit Copics coloriert, damit er optisch zu den gestencilten Motiven passt. 

Der Text ist mit der Stay Cool Stanze von MFT gemacht - einmal aus schwarzem und einaml aus hell-aqua farbenem Cardstock. Die habe ich dann leicht versetzt aufeinander und auf die Karte geklebt.

Und zwischen die Elemente habe ich dann noch einige Muscheln geschoben. Die sind mit dem Seashells Stanzenset von WaffleFlower aus weißem Cardstock gemacht und dann ebenfalls mit Distress Oxide gewischt. Außerdem habe ich sie leicht mit Stickles beglittert.

The tall stamp with the seagull on the bottom right seemed a bit boring. So I gave the seagull a bucket hat from the Dad and Me stamp set by LawnFawn. We don't want the bird to get a heat stroke in the summer heat, right? To make the hat go better with the rest of the images I did some no-line coloring with Copics.

The text is made with the Stay Cool die by MFT - once from black and once from light aqua cardstock. I stacked them a bit off and then adhered them onto the card.

And between all the elements I put a few seashells. I die cut those from white cardstock using the Seashells dies by WaffleFlower, then inked them with Oxides as well. I also put a bit of Stickles onto them.

Hinter den Briefmarken oben links und in der Mitte sowie dem oberenTeil des Textes habe ich dünnes 3D Tape benutzt, die restlichen Elemente sind direkt auf den Hintergrund bzw. aufeinander geklebt.

I put some foam tape behind the stamps in the center and the one in the top left and also behind the first word of the text, all the other elements I glued directly onto the background or the element underneath.
