Winterkarte in Schneekugelform

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
October is here! With the Farbe trifft Stempel challenge I at least scratched  the surface of the themes of  winter and christmas. And even if I still  have quite some  Halloween cards to share with you I am sharing a winter card with you today. It will be here sooner than most of us want it to be...

I made my winter card the shape of a snowglobe. Well, that's not what I had planned originally, I just wanted to create a winter scene with the great house. But my scene turned out too tall for a standard card. And because I used dies from the Snowglobe  Kit by ScrappyTails here I also brought in the snowglobe die, that the kit has its name from. Still, the card is completly one flat.

The great house, that I definately would move into without a thought! - is from Snowglobe Victorian Christmas House AddOn - as well as the smaller pine trees. I used the colors of my own christmas decorations as inspiration for this card: white, green, light aqua. I also  add a bit of light pink here  and there but didn't want to have that on my card.
The house I die cut from light grey cardstock, roof, door and shutters are made from dark teal cardstock. The window frames I cut from light aqua cardstock and backed them black. That doesn't look as warm or inviting as yellow cardstock but that simply didn't fit the look I was after.
I also  decorated  the windows in the roof with some garlands, they looked so non festive compared to the rest of the house.
Behind and next to the house there are dark grey fences and a black lantern, as well as two smaller light green pine trees. The are all from the mentioned set.
Behind the house I put up two tall decorated trees. These are from  Snowglobe Tall  Whimsical  Tree  with Ladder  and Elves and die cut from dark green cardstock. I put stars, cut from silver mirror cardstock, onto the tips of the trees and used a silver gel pen to draw on the ornaments. On the left side of the house I also added a bare tree from Snowgloe Wintery Forest Tree Trio AddOn, cut from black  cardstock.
I decorated the lantern with another small wreath with a bow and glued a few white bows onto the fence.
In the background I used the large background from Large Circular Snowgloe AddOn. I cut it from grey cardstock and shaded it with a bit of  Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and Black Soot.
The snow layers in the scene are also made using  a die  from this set, I only cut the long one, that goes  all  across the  scene, with my scissors. And because I had a little blank area under the  house I used two small patches  of snow, that are originally meant to go on the trees from Snowglobe Wintery Forest Tree Trio AddOn, to cover those areas. Now it looks like someone was shoveling snow and  has piled up the snow to the left and right of the  door. I die cut all  the snow pieces as well as the bows from white pearlesscent cardstock.
I used alcohol markers to draw some foot prints into  the snow, that led to the front door. Who knows, maybe Santa has been here already...?
And because the  decorations on my card didn't go with all the snow on the ground I used a white acrylic marker to add snow to all the other elements as well.

As the bottom of  my snowglobe I used the die from the snowglobe set. I die cut it from dark grey cardstock and shaded it with Black Soot. This brings out the great woodgrain details the die cuts into the paper even better. The outlines/detail lines I die cut grom black cardstock.
On this bottom part of the snowglobe there was room for my text. The label and the text are from the same set. I die cut the label from light grey cardstock and silver mirror cardstock. I used my scissors to cut out the center of the silver piece so I ended up with a silver frame.
I shaded the label with Hickory Smoke and then glued the text, that I cut from black cardstock, onto it. And to add just a touch of color to the snowglobe bottom I added the floral decoration from the snowman's hat from Snowglobe Large Traditional Snowman AddOn. The berries I cut from white cardstock.

To turn my snowglobe  into a snowglobe shaped card I glued the snowglobe, after putting it together, onto a top folding note card. It's larger than a standard sized card - I simply made my own from white cardstock. I placed the fold about 1/4" under the top edge of the snowglobe. Then I used my scissors to cut through  both layers all around the snowglobe.
As the last step I added three white clay hearts as decoration.
