Gestern war World Card Making Day - also Weltkartenbasteltag. Und auf vielen Blogs gibt es dazu Challenges, besondere Angebote in Shops etc. Ich hatte kaum Zeit zum Basteln gestern, aber die Deadline zur Teilnahme an der Challenge auf dem MFT Challenge Blog ist bis heute Abend verlängert. Also habe ich mich heute an den Basteltisch gesetzt und zu jeder der drei Themen eine Karte gewerkelt. Da drei Karten an einem Tag doch eine Herausforderung sind, sind sie natürlich etwas einfacher ausgesfallen... Aber seht selbst.

Yesterday was World Card Making Day. And there are different challenges on different blogs, special offers in shops etc. I didn't have much time for crafting yesterday but the deadline to take part in the special challenge over at MFT Challenge Blog is extended until tonight - to give those that didn't have time yesterday a chance to join. So I've sat at my craft table today and made three cards, one each for each of the themes. Since three cards a day is quite a challenge they turned out simple. But have a look yourself:
Challenge Nr 1: Regenbogen - egal ob ein echter Regenbogen oder die Farben die Regenbogens. Ich habe hier mit ZIG Clean Color Brush Stiften in zarten Farben einen Regenbogen auf Aquarellpapier gemalt. Das wurde mein Hintergrund.
Challenge No 1: RYOGBIV - which are the colors of the rainbow. For the challenge you can either use those colors or create an actual rainbow. I've used my ZIG Clean Color Brush pens to paint a soft rainbow onto watercolor paper. This was used as my background.
Dann habe ich mit der Sunshine Shaker Stanze die Sonne aus dem Hintergrund ausgestanzt und mit goldenem Glitzerpapier hinterlegt.
Then I've used the Sunshine Shaker die to cut the sun from the background. To make the sun shine I've put some golden glitter cardstock behind the cut out area.
Mit Distress Ink habe ich weißen Cardstock in Regenbogenfarben eingefärbt und daraus dann die Worte Hello und Sunshine ausgestanzt. Ich habe sie bereits so ausgestanzt, wie sie später auf der Karte sitzen sollten. So passt hier der Farbverlauf zusammen.
Using Distress Inks I've colored white cardstock in the colors of the rainbow and then cut the Hello and the Sunshine from it. I've put it onto the colored paper exactly how I wanted to glue them on my card to have the colors match also vertically.
Challenge Nr 2: Clean and Simple.
Die Karte mag etwas aufwändiger wirken, als sie wirklich ist. Ich habe ein Stück hell-türkis farbenen Cardstock zugeschnitten und mit dem Snowfall Background und weißem Embossinpulver beschneit. Den Hintergrund habe ich dann auf eine weiße Karten geklebt.
Challenge No 2: Clean and Simple.
My card might look a bit more than that but it really is a CAS card. I've cut a piece of light turquoise cardstock the size I needed it and used the Snowfall Background stamp and white embossing powder to add some snowflakes. Then I've glued this background onto a white card base.
Das Mesmerizing Mandala ist aus silbernem Glitzercardstock ausgestanzt und mit 3D Tape erst auf einen Kreis aus Vellum und dann auf die Karte geklebt. Nun sieht es aus wie eine extra große Schneeflocke.
In die Mitte der Schneeflocke habe ich den süßen Schneemann aus dem neusten Card Kit aufgeklebt - ebenfalls mit 3D Tape. Der Text, den ich mit weißem Pulver auf einen schmalen Streifen schwarzen Cardstock embosst habe, ist aus dem Stempelset Snow Globe Sentiments.
The Mesmerizing Mandala was cut from silver glitter cardstock and then first glued onto a circle cut from Vellum and then onto the background, using dimensionals to glue the layers down. Now it looks like a giant snowflake.
In the middle of the snowflake I've glued the cute snowman from the newest Card Kit - also using dimensionals. The saying, that was heat embossed with white powder onto a thin strip of black cardstock, is from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set.
Und hier noch die Karte für Challenge Nr. 3: Blumen.
Ich habe den Roses All Over Hintergrundstempel auf weißen Cardstock embosst und dann - von links nach rechts heller werdend - mit Distress Ink Peacock Feathers eingefärbt.
And this is the card for the last challenge No 3: flowers.
I've used the Roses All Over Background stamp, heat embossed it onto white cardstock and then used Distress Ink Peacock Feathers to color the cardstock in, getting lighter from left to right
Aus dem Hintergrund habe ich dann den Happy Birthday To You Text ausgestanzt und schwarz hinterlegt. Um das Thema Blumen nochmal aufzugreifen, habe ich über das I eine der Blumen aus dem Stempelset Sweet Forest Friends geklebt. Aus dem Set sind auch die beiden Schmetterlinge. Quer über das "to you" habe ich noch einen dünnen Streifen helltürkis farbenen Cardstock geklebt, auf den ich einen der Text aus dem All About You Stempelset gestempelt habe.
From the background I've die cut the Happy Birthday To You saying and put some black cardstock behind it. To add another flower - and go more with the theme than just in the background - I've replaced the I with one of the flowers from the Sweet Forest Friends stamp set. The butterflies are from the same set.
Across the "to you" I've put a thin strip of light turquoise cardstock onto which I've stamped one of the sayings from the All About You stamp set.
