Mitten in der Weihnachtskartenproduktion ist mir der Otter von MFT in die Hände gefallen. Und mit ihm ist trotz allem eine Weihnachtskarte entstanden. Ich finde es immer toll, wenn Stempel mit den richtigen Accessoires auch für andere Zwecke Verwendung finden.

In the middle of making christmas cards I came across those cute otters by MFT. And even if it isn't a christmas set I still used it on a christmas card. I just love if you can use those stamps for different occasions by just using the right accessoires.
Für meine Karte habe ich mit den Blueprints 28 von MFT aus hellblauem Cardstock den Kartenaufleger mit dem eingestanzten "Tag" gestanzt. Auf den Rahmen habe ich mit hellbrauner Tinte den Christmas Background aufgestempelt.
For my card I've used the Blueprints 28 dies by MFT to cut the card topper with the cut in "tag" from light blue cardstock. Then I've stamped the Christmas Background just on the frame around the tag with light brown ink.
Das tolle an der Blueprints 28 Stanze ist, dass man mit nur zwei hinzugefügten Falzlinien diese Pop Up Silder Card machen kann. Am vorderen Ende des Tags ist ein Streifen Cardstock angebracht, der oben über die Karte ein wenig übersteht. Ich habe hier eine blaue Schleife und zwei Glöckchen angebracht. Zieht man nun an diesem Streifen, stellt sich der untere Teil des Tags auf und der Cardstock unter dem Aufleger kommt zum Vorschein. Ich habe hier einen Text aufgestempelt, für den ich einen Teil eines der Otter-Texte aus dem Set Otterly Love You mit einem der Text aus dem Set Handlettered Holiday Greetings kombiniert habe.
The great thing about this Blueprints die is that by adding just two scored lines you can turn this card into a Pop Up Slider Card. To the top of the tag there's a strip of cardstock attached, a bit longer than the card itself. Here I've added a blue bow and two small red bells to this strip of cardstock. Once you pull it, the front of the tag stands up and the cardstock of the card base can be seen. Here I've stamped a saying combining one of the text from the Otterly Love You stamp set and one of the sayings from the Handlettered Holiday Greetings.
Für mein Motiv habe ich diverse Stempel kombiniert. Da ist natürlich der Otter, den ich mit Copics und einem weißen Gelmarker coloriert habe. Er bringt einen Eimer voller Fische, den ich mir bei den Polarbear Pals "ausgeliehen" habe, mit, der auch noch mit einer schönen roten Schleife verziert ist. Die Schleife stammt von einem der Geschenke aus dem Stempelset Secret Santa. Naja, und wenn der Otter schon Geschenke bringt, dann soll er auch eine Weihnachtsmannmütze tragen. Die ist von einem der Hunde aus dem Stempelset Happy Pawlidays.
Die Wellen sind ebenso wie die Steine im Hintergrund aus dem Otter-Set. Ich habe hier oberhalb der gestempelten Welle mit dem Cutter eine Linie entlang der Stempellinie geschnitten und dort den Otter ein wenig hineingeschoben.
Den hellblauen Cardstock, den ich nochmal extra mit 3D Tape auf den Tag geklebt habe, habe ich an der oberen Linie mit einer der Ocean Waves gestanzt. Dahinter befindet sich eine Lage brauner Cardstock, den ich mit einer der Stitched Snow Drifts Stanzen ausgestanzt habe. Erst dann ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich auf die Steine und Tannen ja Schnee coloriert habe, der dann auch auf dem Boden liegen sollte. Also habe ich die sichtbaren Teile des braunen Cardstocks mit einem weißen Gelmarker angemalt und nur unter den Bäumen, wo ja kein Schnee liegen sollte, das Braun sichtbar gelassen.
Die Bäume im Hintergrund sind aus dem Set Ready, Set, Snow.
Den oberen Teil des Tags habe ich mit Distress Oxide Stormy Sky und der Clouds Stencil etwas eingefärbt, so dass die Szene auch bei geschlossener Karte stimmig wirkt.
For the image I've combined a few different stamps. Of course there's the otter that was colored with Copics and a white gelly marker. He's carrying a bucket full of fish that I've "borrowed" from the Polarbear Pals. It's even decorated with a nice red bow. The bow was cut off of one of the gifts from the Secret Santa stamp set. And since he's bringing gifts he should also wear a Santa's hat, right? This one is from one of the puppies from the Happy Pawlidays stamp set.
The stamped waves and the stones in the background come with the otter set. Here I've used a craft knife to cut a line on top the stamped lines and put the back of the otter through it.
The light blue carstock, that's actually an additional layer glued onto the tag with dimensionals, was cut with one of the Ocean Waves dies at the top edge. Behind this there's another layer of brown cardstock that I've cut with one of the Stitched Snow Drifts. After glueing it down I realized that the top of the stones and trees are covered with snow. So I've used a white gelly marker again and colored the brown cardstock white, just leaving it plain underneath the trees where there shouldn't be any snow.
The trees in the background are from the Ready, Set, Snow stamp set.
To the top half of the tag I've added some clouds using Distress Oxide Stormy Sky and the Cloud Stencil to have a nice scene even when the card is closed.
