Morgen ist Silvester! Und weil man ja immer nicht nur auf weiße Weihnachten hofft, sondern auch auf einen verschneiten Jahresübergang, die aber immer seltener werden, habe ich mir die verschneite Landschaft einfach vorsichtshalber mal gebastelt.

It's New Year's Eve tomorrow! Well, I guess we all not only hope for a white christmas each year, but also for a snowy change of years. But those get rare. So, just in case, with this card I've simply created the snowy landscape I wish for.
Die Karte ist dreiteilig - die oberste Lage besteht aus einem Shaker mit zwei durchsichtigen Seiten.
Ich habe die Stitched Rechecke Stanzen verwendet, um den Rahmen zu gestalten. Er ist 5 mal aus weißem, einmal aus blauem Cardstock gestanzt. Die sind aufeinander geklebt, zwischen den weißen und der blauen Lage befindet sich eine Lage Folie. Die Karte selbst habe ich ebenfalls aus dunkelblauem Cardstock gefertigt, aus der obersten Lage der blauen Karte habe ich ebenfalls das kleinere der Rechtecke ausgestanzt und eine weitere Lage Folie aufgeklebt.
This is a triple fold card - the top layer is made from a shaker with two see through sides.
I used some rectangle dies to cut the frames - there are 5 white and a blue one stacked on top of each other, with a layer of transparency between the white ones and the blue one. The card itself is also made from dark blue cardstock, from the top layer I've also cut the smaller rectangle to create a frame and glue another layer of transparency on top of it.
Innen in den Rahmen habe ich die Schneelandschaft geklebt. Sie besteht aus einer Lage Tannenbäume, gemacht mit der Winterlandschaft-Stanze. Darauf habe ich zwei der Häuser aus dem Stanzenset Häuser geklebt. Alles ist aus weißem Cardstock geschnitten. Da ich irgendetwas hinter die Fenster setzen aber keine weitere Farbe ins Spiel bringen wollte, habe ich einfach blaue Folie hinter die Häuser geklebt. Vor die Häuser kamen dann noch zwei Lagen Schnee, die ebenfalls mit Stanzen aus dem Set Winterlandschaft gemacht sind.
Ursprünglich wollte ich gar kein gestempeltes Motiv verwenden, habe mich dann aber doch für diesen süßen Winterhasen aus dem Stempelset Winterwaldtiere Klein entschieden. Auch er ist ganz dezent und nur in weiß und blau, mit einem kleinen Touch rot, coloriert.
Den Shaker habe ich dann mit kleinen irisierenden Kreisen befüllt und die obere Lage Folie samt Rahmen aufgeklebt.
Inside the frame I've created the snowy scene. It's made from a layer of trees and two houses, all cut from white cardstock. I wanted to put something behind the windows but also didn't want to add another color so I've simply used some blue transparency here. In front of the houses I've added another two layers of snowy hills.
Originally I had planned to make this card without a stamped image but then I thought the cute winter bunny would fit into the scene nicely. It's also colored in blue and white with just a hint of pink.
Then I've filled the shaker with small iridescent circles and glued the top layer of transpareny and frame on top.
So sieht die Karte aus, wenn man die erste Lage öffnet. Die Schneeflocken, die man durch den Shaker sieht, sind auf diese Lage weiß aufembosst. Ich habe dafür den Hintergrund Schneeflocken benutzt.
Durch die Folie hätte man den Kleber, mit dem die Winterlandschaft auf die Folie geklebt ist, gesehen. Deswegen habe ich die Häuser und die Tannenbaumreihe jeweils ein weiteres Mal ausgestanzt und von hinten gegen die innere Folie geklebt. So ist der Kleber verdeckt.
This is the card with the first flap opened. The snowflakes that can be seen through the shaker are white heat embossed onto that layer.
Through the transparency you would be able to see the glue that I glued the scene inside the shaker with. So I've simply die cut the row of trees and the houses again and glued them to the back of the transpareny to cover the glue.
Natürlich durfte einText auf der Karte nicht fehlen - und auch der ist auf dieser Lage Cardstock untergebracht. Eigentlich war der Plan, die Schneeflocken nur im oberen Bereich aufzustempeln, so dass sie durch den Shaker zu sehen sind, unten aber ein rein blauer Streifen für den Text sichtbar geblieben wäre. Naja, ich hatte beim Stempeln nicht daran gedacht, über Kopf zu denken - und so die Schneeflocken zuerst im falschen Bereich aufgestempelt. Darum befinden sich jetzt auch unter dem Text Schneeflocken.
Für den Text habe den Stempel "es ist kalt draußen" aus dem gleichnamigen Stempelset mit blauer Tinte auf einen Streifen weißen Cardstocks gestempelt und das kalt durch eines mit dem ABC Groß Stanzenset aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanztes kalt ersetzt. Und für einen extra frostigen Touch habe ich die Buchstaben nochmal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, per Hand kleine "Wellen" aus den oberen Bereichen ausgeschnitten und als Schneehauben auf die blauen Buchstaben geklebt.
Of course my card needed a text - and also this is glued to the snowflake layer. Well, the plan was to only stamp the snowflakes to the top area of the blue cardstock. It would have been visible through the shaker but there would have been a plain blue strip of the text. Well, when stamping the snowflakes I forgot to think upside down - because that's what the layer is when the card is closed - and stamped them first in the area that I wanted to leave plain. So now there are snowflakes on the whole layer and underneath the text.
The text means "it's cold outside". I've stamped the text with blue ink, leaving out the cold and replacing it with one die cut from a lighter blue cardstock. To add a bit more of a frosty feeling to it I've die cut the letters again from white cardstock, cut off the top areas doing little waves and glued those onto the blue ones as snow caps.
Und der Vollständigkeit halber habe ich hier noch ein Foto der komplett geöffneten Karte. Wie ihr seht, ist innenin der Karte mehr als genug Platz für handgeschriebene Grüße. Die werde ich auf weißen Cardstock schreiben, der etwas kleiner als die Bereiche in der Karte sind, und dann hineinkleben. Es ist einfacher, den fertig beschriebenen Cardstock einzukleben als direkt in die Karte zu schreiben.
And just to complete this I've also taken a picture of the completly opened card. As you can see there's plenty of room inside the card for a handwritten message. I'm going to write that onto pieces of white cardstock, cut slightly smaller than the areas inside the card, and then glue them inside the card. It's just easier to first write the message and then glue it inside the card than to write it directly onto the card.
