Heute startet die erste Create a Smile Challenge des neuen Jahres. Und wie auch in den vergangenen Jahren, wechseln sich Moodboard und Sketch als Thema für die Challenges ab. Für diese Challenge ist wieder ein Sketch an der Reihe - hier ist er:

Today starts the first Create a Smile challenge of the new year. And like the previous years moodboards and sketches are alternating as the challenge themes. For this challenge we have a new sketch - and here it is:
Der Sketch hat mich so inspiriert, dass ich mich nicht für ein Motiv entscheiden konnte. Und so sind sogar zwei Karten danach entstanden. Die zweite zeige ich Euch nächste Woche. Obwohl beide Karten doch sehr ähnlich sind, habe ich mich für diese dann als mein DT Projekt entschieden, weil sie dem Sketch einen Tick ähnlicher ist und mir auch ein klein wenig besser gefallen hat:
The sketch inspired me so much, that I couldn't decide on an image to use. So I ended up with two cards - I will share the second one with you next week. Even with both cards being pretty similar I decided to use this as my DT card because it is just a bit closer to the sketch and honestly, I liked it a tiny bit better:
Zum Geburtstag habe ich mir die Nuvo Shimmer Powders gewünscht und hier das erste Mal verwendet. Erstmal ganz einfach für einen einfarbigen Hintergrund. Dafür habe ich Atlantic Burst und ein bisschen Blue Blitz auf Watercolor Paper gestreut, mit ordentlich Wasser besprüht und trocknen lassen. Dann habe ich den Cardstock zugeschnitten und mit weißer Acrylfarbe bespritzt. Später habe ich den Cardstock dann dunkeltürkis gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
I got the Nuvo Shimmer Powders for my birthday and used them here for the first time. To start with I did a simple background using Atlantic Burst and a bit of Blue Blitz on watercolor paper. I weted the cardstock quite much and let it dry. Then I cut it down and spritzed some white acrylic paint on top. Later I added a dark turquoise matting and attached everything onto a white note card.
Für meinen Kartenaufleger habe ich eine der Rounded Corners Stanze zweimal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Eines der beiden Stanzteile habe ich dann mit Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, Broken China und Uncharted Mariner eingefärbt und etwas Wasser darüber gespritzt.
Das zweite der Rounded Corners habe ich mit Hilfe der Winter Landscape Stanzen in drei Schneehügel geteilt. Durch die Verwendung des Rounded Corner Stanzteils habe ich sowohl die abgerundete Form als auch die gespunkteten Linien auch auf den Schneehügeln.
Die Motive habe ich alle mit der No-Line Technik coloriert. Die Schneeburg ist das Schloss aus dem Stempelset Feuer und Flamme, die süßen Schneemänner sind aus dem Set Locker-Flockig. Und neben das Schloss habe ich noch die beiden Tannen aus dem Set Home Sweet Home gepflanzt. Ich habe alle Motive mit Jellyfish Ink von LawnFawn gestempelt, dann mit Copics coloriert und für die genauen Abgrenzungen an einigen Stellen noch Details mit Polychromos gemalt. Die Highlights sind mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht.
Den Text aus dem Stempelset Lieblingskeks habe ich weiß auf einen Streifen orangefarbenen Card- stocks embosst - so wird das Orange der Karottennasen neben der Mütze nochmal aufgegriffen.
Im Stanzenset Rounded Corners sind außerdem vier Bannerstanzen enthalten. Zwei davon habe ich verwendet, um die beiden Banner am oberen linken Rand der Karte aus türkisfarbenem und orangefarbenem Cardstock zu stanzen.
Ich habe alle Motive und die Schneelagen auf das gewischte Stanzteil geklebt und dieses dann mit 3D Tape auf dem Hintergrund angebracht.
For my card panel I die cut one of the Rounded Corner dies twice from white cardstock. I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Uncharted Mariner to ink up one of them and then spritzed some water onto it.
With the Winter Landscape die I cut the other white Rounded Corner diecut into three snowy hills. By using a Rounded Corner diecut here as well I do not only get the perfect shape of the background but also the little dots continue on the snow layers.
I did some no-line coloring on the images. The snow castle is the castle from the Once Upon a Time stamp set, the cute snowmen are from the Easy-Breezy set and next to the castle I planted the two pine trees from the Home Sweet Home set. I stamped all images with the Jellyfish ink by LawnFawn and colored them with Copics. Then I used my Polychromos to add a few details and sharp edges. For the highlights I used a white gel pen.
The text means "let's get cozy". I white heat embossed it onto a strip cut from orange cardstock to pick up the color of the carrot noses again.
There are four banner dies included in the Rounded Corners die set. I used two of them to cut banners from orange and dark turquoise cardstock and attached those to the top left.
I attached all images and the snow layers onto the inked up diecut and then used foam tape to adhere it to the background.
