Create a Smile hat ja die Challenges letzten Sommer eingestellt - eigentlich. Bis 25.02. gibt es ausnahmsweise mal wieder eine Challenge und da habe ich mich doch gleich mal drangemacht. Thema ist ein Moodboard und das möchte ich Euch natürlich zeigen:

Last summer Create a Smile stopped their challenges. But they just started a one-time one that will end on february 25th. I just had to join. The theme is a moodboard that I want to show you:

Mich haben ganz klar die Regenbogenfarben sowie die Wollknäuel inspiriert. 

Ich muss jetzt mal gestehen, dass wenn in der Arbeit gerade mal nichts los ist, ich gerne dasitze und im Kopf die nächste Karte plane. Das Problem ist, dass man dann ja die eigentlichen Produkte nicht vor sich hat und es dann vorkommen kann, dass die Idee - z. B. weil Motive sich wegen des Größenverhältnisses nicht kombinieren lassen - gar nicht so umsetzbar ist. Kommt dann noch hinzu, dass man an dem Tag nur ganz wenig Zeit zum Basteln hat, man aber genau weiß, dass die mindestens nächsten drei Tage überhaupt keine Zeit dazu ist, dann wird es stressig. Und das führt bei mir meist zu einer Blokade. Ich habe mich aber trotzdem hingesetzt und kam an einen Punkt, an dem ich nur noch unzufrieden Motive, Texte und Elemente hin- und hergeschoben habe und beinahe alles in den Rundordner - aka Mülleimer - geworfen hätte. Nachdem ich einfach alles liegen gelassen und einen Kaffee getrunken habe, habe ich beschlossen, nochmal 15 Minuten abzuzwacken und was soll ich sagen, das war genau die Zeit, die ich gebraucht habe, um doch noch alles zum Guten zu wenden. Und so ist diese zwar einfache, aber dennoch stimmige Karte doch noch fertig geworden .

I have to admit, that during quiet times at work I sit at my desk and plan my next card in my head. The problem is, that I don't have the actual products in front of me and so it happens, that I have to find out, that this idea doesn't work for different reasons, like the images I wanted to use don't go together size wise. If this happens on a day that you only have little time to craft but know, that there won't be any time at all for at least the next three days, then it's getting stressful. I put myself under pressure and that results in a complete blackout. I still sat down and came to a point, where I was just sitting there, moving around images, texts and elements and nearly threw everything in the trash. But I took a little break, had a coffee and decided, to give myself and this card another 15 minutes. Guess what, that was exactly the time I needed to turn everything and finish this simple, but still beautiful card.

Angefangen hatte ich mit dem Hintergrund, damit der inzwischen trocknen konnte. Und da war noch alles gut. Ich wollte unbedingt eine Karte in Regenbogenfarben machen, die sollten aber nicht so knallig ausfallen. Also habe ich mit Watercolors diesen sanften Regenbogenverlauf auf Aquarellpapier aufgebracht. Dann habe ich den Knit Stencil aufgelegt und klare Glitzerpaste hindurch aufgetragen. So habe ich einen dezenten Hintergrund, der dennoch einen Bezug zum Thema der Karte hat. 

Nach dem Trocknen habe ich noch etwas weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

I started with the backround, so it could dry while I work on the images - and until then everything went ine. I wanted to make a rainbow color card but wanted it to be soft. So I used some pastel watercolors to create this soft rainbow on watercolor paper. Then I put the Knit stencil on top and applied some clear glitter paste through it. This way I have a subtle background that still is related to the theme of the card.

After the paste had dried I also spattered some white acrylic paint onto the background.

Als Motiv habe ich den Osterkorb aus dem gleichnamigen Stempelset genommen und ihn mit Wolle aus dem Knit Kit sowie dem Wollknäuel-Mini gefüllt. Außerdem stecken zwei - zugegebenermaßen überdimensionierte - Stricknadeln darin. Um die Karte soft zu halten, habe ich auch beim Colorieren zu hellen, pastelligen Farben gegriffen. Die Elemente habe ich ausgeschnitten und zusammengeklebt.

Der Hintergrund ist jetzt nicht so auffällig, dass man ihn unbedingt hätte runtertönen müssen. Aber mir fehlte irgendein Elemente, damit die Motive nicht so verloren auf dem großen Hintergrund wirken. Deswegen habe ich mit einer der Stitched Square Frames Stanzen einen Rahmen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Vellum hinterlegt. 

As my images I used the easter basket from the Osterkorb stamp set and filled it with yarn from the Knit Kit and the yarn mini freebie. There are also two - yes, I know, they are really big - knitting needles into the basket. To keep the card soft I went with pastel colors for my coloring, too. Then I cut the elements out and glued them together. 

The background isn't so busy or bright, that it needed toning down, but I was missing an element on my card so the images don't look lost on this large background. So I die cut one of the Stitched Square Frames from white cardstock and put some vellum behind it.

Für die Texte kamen das Stempelset Du Zauberst zum Einsatz sowie noch ein Danke aus dem Set Für Jede Gelegenheit. Da ich ja nicht mehr viel Zeit hatte, habe ich sie einfach mit schwarzer Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und ausgeschnitten. Bei dem Danke habe ich dabei das "vielmals", das eigentlich darunter steht, weggeschnitten. 

For the text I went with a "you create wonderful things - thank you". Since I didn't have much time I just stamped them with black ink onto white cardstock and cut them out. The "very much", that gets stamped under the word thank you I simply cut off. 

Den Rahmen mit dem Vellum habe ich mit 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt und darauf dann die Motive und Texte wiederum mit 3D Tape obenauf. Als Deko kamen noch ein paar winzige türkisfarbene Herzkonfetti zum Einsatz. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I adhered the frame with the vellum to the background with foam tape, then used more foam tape to attach the images and sentiments on top. As embellishments I added a few tiny turquoise heart confetti, then glued the cardstock to a white note card.
