Auch im Februar gibt es wieder eine Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge - diesmal mit einem Watercolor Swipe Video von Jennifer McGuire als Thema. Und das ist meine Karte danach.

Also in february there is a Technique Throwback Thursday challenge - this time with a Watercolor Swipe video by Jennifer McGuire as the theme. And this is the card I made for/after it.
Die Technik lässt sich natürlich in allen möglichen Farben umsetzen, aber als Regenbogen wirkt sie besonders toll und fröhlich, finde ich. Na und das passt dann perfekt für eine Geburtstagskarte!
Ich habe nur 10 Liquid Watercolor, jeweils die Grundfarben in "normal" und pastellig. Also habe ich zusätzlich noch die Distress Re-Inker in Picked Raspberry und Peacock Feathers mit verwendet und so einen Regenbogenverlauf gestaltet. Der startet oben am Cardstock und reicht etwa bis zur Mitte. Also habe ich mein "Werkzeug" einfach um 180 Grad gedreht und in umgekehrter Reihenfolge nochmal nach unten gewischt. Anschließend habe ich den Bunch of Balloons Background Stempel von Simon Says Stamp weiß aufembosst und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.
Außerdem habe ich einen Rahmen gestaltet. Dafür habe ich mit einer der Stitched Rectangle Stanzen von Stampcorner aus schwarzem Cardstock ein Rechteck ausgestanzt und dann mit dem Cutter den Bereich innen 0,5 cm vom Rand entfernt herausgeschnitten. Aus Vellum habe ich einige Luftballons ausgestanzt, sie von hinten gegen den Rahmen geklebt und die Überstände weggeschnitten.
Of course this technique can be done in any colors, but I think, it looks so wonderfully happy when done in rainbow colors. And it makes a great backdrop for a birthday card.
I only have 10 liquid watercolors - the base colors in both bright and pastell tones. So I added Distress Re-Inkers in Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers to my mix and created the rainbow backdrop. It starts at the top edge of the cardstock and reached to the center. So I turned my "color tool" 180 degrees and put the colors down again, just in the opposite order. Then I white heat embossed the Bunch of Balloons background by Simon Says Stamp onto my rainbow background and added some splatters of white acrylic paint.
I also created a frame. I die cut one of the Stitched Rectangle die by Stampcorner from black cardstock and used my paper cutter to cut out the center. From vellum I die cut a few balloons, glued those behind the frame and cut off the overhang.

Das Happy Birthday besteht aus mehreren Lagen Cardstock. Die Schattenlage habe ich aus schwarzem Cardstock, die oberste Lage aus holografischem Metallic Cardstock gestanzt. Ich finde, der passt perfekt zum Regenbogen-Hintergrund. Darunter befinden sich noch drei Lagen des Textes, den ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt habe.
Und als kleinen Untertext habe ich ein Let's Celebrate You aus dem Itty Bitty Birthdays Stempelset von MFT weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.
The happy birthday is made from several layers. I die cut the shadow layer from black cardstock, the top layer from some holographic metallic cardstock. I think, it goes great with the rainbow background. Under the die cut text there are three layers that I cut from white cardstock.
And as a subtext I white heat embossed a Let's Celebrate You from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set by MFT onto a strip of black cardstock.
Den gestackten Text habe ich direkt auf den Hintergrund geklebt, hinter dem kleineren Text darunter befindet sich etwas dünnes 3D Tape, um es etwa auf die selbe Höhe wie den gestanzten Text zu bringen. Den Rahmen mit den Ballons habe ich dann mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt.
Als Deko habe ich einge silber-holografische Pailetten auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
I glued the stacked text directly onto the background and put some thin foam tape behind the subtext to bring it to the same height as the die cut text. To adhere the frame I used thick foam tape.
I added a few silver holographic sequins as decorations and then glued the cardstock onto a white note card.
