Whiff Of Joy Challenge # 171

Wunderschönen Mittwoch Morgen Euch allen!

Heute startet eine neue Challenge auf dem Whiff Of Joy Blog und für diesmal haben wir uns eine Farbkombi ausgesucht, die Ihr auf Euren Werken benutzen sollt: pink, creme und braun.

Toay there is our new Whiff Of Joy challenge starting and for this fortnight we have chosen a color combo for you to use on your projects: pink, cream and brown.

Ich habe diesmal ein Knallbonbon gemacht. Die seitlichen Verschlüsse sind herzförmig - somit also ideal für Valentinstag.

Als Deko habe ich den Bär vom Stempel "Ich werde mich um Dich kümmern" abgestemplt und mit der Punktetechnik coloriert. Das Loch in seinem Knie sieht man so nicht...

Das Herz ist das zweitkleinste der neuen "Geschachtelte Herzen" Die-Lights. Außerdem habe ich wieder das tolle Alphabeth verwendet. Um die  Buchstaben etwas mehr hervorzuheben, habe ich Linien mit einem weißen Marker darauf gezogen. Und auch die Girlande mit den kleinen Herzen ist aus dem neusten Release: das Herz-Banner.

For this challenge I made a bonbon box. The closings are heart shaped and so this is a perfect little treat for Valentine's Day.

For my decoration I stamped just the bear from the image "I will take care of you" and colored him in using the dot technique. The whole in his knee is hidden with this technique...

The heart is the second smallest from the new "Nested Hearts" Die-Lights. I also used the great alphabeth dies again. To make the letters pop a little more I painted some inner lines with a white pen. And also the garland with those little hearts is from the newest release: the Heart  Banner.

Und nun zu meinem Werk:

So, here's my creation: 

 Ich habe hier gleich eine ganze Reihe der neuen Produkte verwendet, um dieses Valentinstag-Geschenk zu fertigen. 

Zuerst ist da natürlich mal das Motiv XOXO Kitty: die beiden kleinen Mäuse, die in Gemeinschaftsarbeit diese süße Karte für Kitty gebastelt haben...

 Aber das ist noch nicht alles: die herzförmige Geschenktasche ist mit einem der neuen Dies geschnitten, und glaubt mir: da ist jede Menge Platz drin für ein kleines Geschenk! Ich habe von oben eine abgeschnittene Butterbrot-Tüte hineingeklebt, so dass seitlich nichts rausfallen kann. Außerdem sieht es mit dem weiß im Hintergrund meiner Meinung nach einfach "fertiger" aus.

Auch das Wort LOVE ist mit neuen Die-Lights geschnitten. Aber Ihr bekommt nicht nur dieses Wort, sondern ein komplettes Alphabeth! Und die Größe ist perfekt - weder zu klein, noch zu groß für eine Karte oder Box.

Der kleine Tag mit den Herzen ist aus einem recht alten Set "Lieblicher Anhänger", aber es ist einfach immer wieder passend! Und daran habe ich einen Schlüssel aus einer der neuen Charm-Boxen - es ist Nummer 15 - angebunden.

 Here I used not only one but a few of the new products to make this valentine's gift.

First of all there is the image XOXO Kitty: these two little mice that worked together to make this cute card as a valentine's gift for Kitty...

But that's not all: the hearshaped giftbag is cut using one of the new Die-Lights, and believe me: there is a lot of space in it for a pretty gift! I glued a white treat bag that I cut the bottom off into the giftbag so nothing can fall out on the sides. I also think it looks more complete with the white in the background.

Also the word LOVE is cut using a new Die-Light set. But you don't only get the letters for this word, you get a full alphabeth set! And it's perfect in size - not too big but also not too small for a card or box.

The small tag with the hearts is from one of the first sets of Die-Lights: "Lovely Tags" but it's one of my all-time favourites. And to this I attached one of the key charms from one of the new Boxes of Charms (it's number 15 already!).

 Ich habe die Katze und Mäuse jeweils in weiß coloriert. Auf diese Weise kommen das Rot und Rosa noch besser raus. Und wer findet weiße Mäuse nicht süß?

I colored the cat and mice white. So the red and pink pop out more. And who don't likes white mice?

Stempeleinmaleins Ausgabe vom 18. Januar 2014 und Whiff Of Joy Preview Day 2

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Heute gibt es wieder eine Ausgabe des Stempeleinmaleins. Diesmal mit einem kleinen Tischkalender. Eigentlich in der Form einer Twisted Easel Card, aber ich habe wohl nicht richtig aufgepasst - und so ist mein Tischkalender aus einer normalen Easel Card in den Maßen 11 x 11 cm entstanden.

Today there is a new issue of Stempeleinmaleins. We show you how to make a little desk calendar. Well, it was meant to be made from a Twisted Easel Card but somehow I missed that twisted part - and so I made a "normal" Easel Card measuring 11 x 11 cm.

Der Kalender ist wunderbar klein, braucht also nicht viel Platz auf dem Tisch - und meiner wird mir den Schreibtisch im Büro etwas bunter machen.

This calendar is really small and so it don't takes too much room on your desk - mine will make my place at work a little more colorful.

Auf meinem Kalender könnt Ihr eine weitere Vorschau eines der neuen Whiff Of Joy Motive sehen: "Du bist in meinem Herzen Maya". Den Ballon habe ich mit viel Glitzer überzogen und den Kalender in valentinstag-tauglichen Farben gestaltet. Eigentlich heißt es, pink und rot passen nicht zusammen - wieso eigentlich?

On my calendar you get another preview of the new images by Whiff Of Joy coming on monday: "I heart you Maya". The balloon has been covered with a lot of glitter and I used those typical valentine's day colors. Well, people say pink and red don't go well together - why? I think they are wonderful together!

Die Karteikarte mit dem Herzenrand ist neben den Herzen ein weiteres neues Die-Light. Die ist perfekt für alle Arten von Einsteck-Karten, dann sieht auch das Innenleben nicht langweilig aus. Ich habe die Herzen mit rotem Cardstock hinterlegt.

Das "2014" ist ebenfalls aus einem neuen Stempel-Set: es heißt einfach "2014" und falls Ihr gerne Daily Alben gestaltet, dann ist es definitiv ein Must-Have!

The card with the heart banner is, beside the hearts on the left, another new Die-Light. It's perfect for every kind of pull out cards, then also the inside looks simply great. I put some red Cardstock behind the hearts.

"2014" ist from another new set of sentiments - it's simply called "2014" and if you do those daily albums then this for sure is a must-have!

Monday will be the day - the very first images by Whiff Of Joy for 2014 will be available. And like last year we from the DT are giving you a few days of previews of these images...

Valentinstag steht ja vor der Tür - und so sind auch die neuen Motive perfekt auf diese Gelegenheit ausgelegt. Diese süße Biene ist das erste Motiv, das ich Euch zeigen darf - es heißt "Bee Mine". Und der Text ist ebenfalls auf dem Stempel enthalten...

Valentine's Day is coming close - and so these new images are made to fit this holiday perfectly. This cute bee is the first image I am able to show you. It's called "Bee Mine". And the sentiment comes with the image!

Hier ist ein Close-Up... Die Flügel sind mit irisierendem Glitter überzogen, die Biene natürlich braun-gelb coloriert und für den Valentinstag-Touch habe ich Herz, Mütze und Schal in rot bzw. rot-weiß coloriert. 

Here's a close-up... The wings have been covered with iridescent glitter, the bee is colored in yellow and brown, of course, and for the valentine's touch I colored the heart, hat and scarf in red and red-white.

Ich habe diese flache Box gewerkelt, hinein passt etwas Schokolade und eine kleine Karte mit Valentinsgrüßen.

Auf der Box könnt Ihr auch einige der neuen Die-Lights sehen: das große Herz, das im Set "Nested Hearts" mit Herzen in 5 verschiedenen Größen kommt und die Bordüre im Hintergrund. Sie ist eigentlich länger, meine Box war nur zu kurz ;). Die Bordüre hat den Namen "Waterfall of Hearts".

I made this flat box that holds some chocolat and a little card with some valentine's greetings.

On my box you can also see some of the new Die-Lights: the big heart, that comes in the set "Nested Hearts" with hearts in 5 different sizes, and the border in the background. It's actually bigger/longer in real life but my box was too short. ;) This border is named "Waterfall of Hearts".

Sorry, diesmal kein Foto der verwendeten Copics. Ich habe alle neuen Motive auf einmal coloriert, die Stifte extra in meine Tasche gepackt - und als ich sie wieder in mein Bastelzimmer zurückgetragen habe, ist mir einer der Henkel aus der Hand gerutscht und alle 376 Copics haben sich über den Fußboden verteilt... Und da hatte ich dann keine Chance mehr, die verwendeten Stifte rauszufinden. 

Sorry, I don't have a picture of the Copics I used to color this image this time.. I colored all the new images the same time, put the markers on a seperate place in my bag - and when I brought them up in my stamproom again one of the handles slipped out of my hand and all 376 Copic markers were mixed up on my floor... I had no chance to find out again which markers I used to color this cutie.

Magnolia Down Under # 227

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ja, hier war es bisher recht ruhig, in diesem neuen Jahr. Ich habe Mitte Dezember wieder angefangen zu arbeiten und der Alltag muss sich erst einspielen...

Wenn auch einen Tag zu spät habe ich es trotzdem geschafft, ein Projekt für unsere neue und erste Challenge 2014 für Magnolia Down Under zu werkeln. Das ist ja ein australischer Blog und dort ist jetzt Sommer. Und somit lautet unser erstes Thema für dieses Jahr "Summer Delight".

I know, it's been kind of quiet here this year so far. I re-started working the middle of december, after 13 years of being a staying at home mom, and so everyday life is still in the process of getting re-arragend...

Even if I am one day late - I  made it to finish my project for our very first challenge in 2014 over at Magnolia Down Under. This is an australian blog and they have summer this time of the year. And so our theme for this first challenge is "Summer Delight".

Ich wollte diesen Wohnwagen von SVG-Cuts schon seit Ewigkeiten schneiden. Und für diese Challenge ist er doch einfach perfekt! Wir lieben das Campen und fast alle unsere Sommerurlaube verbringen wir auf einem Campingplatz. Also gehören Wohnwagen - okay, eigentlich ein Zelt - und Sommer für mich untrennbar zusammen. Er war einfacher zu bauen als gedacht... Eine Girlande mit den Buchstaben für SUMMER und drei kleine Blümchen machen den Wohnwagen sommerlich - und Tilda im Badeanzug sitzt auf der Stufe vor der Tür, bereit um einen Tag am Strand zu verbringen...

I wanted to make this trailer by SVG-Cuts since ages. And it's just the perfect project for our challenge theme! We love camping and nearly all our summer holidays are spent on campsites. So a trailer - okay, we usually have a tend - and summer belong together to me. It was easier to put together than I expected to... A banner with the letters for SUMMER and three tiny flowers make the trailer look summerish - and Tilda in her swimsuit is sitting on the stair in front of the door, ready for a fun day at the beach...

Hallo Ihr Lieben - und allen erstmal ein gutes neues Jahr 2014!

Das Jahr läuft langsam an und somit ist es Zeit, die erste Karte für 2014 zu teilen.

Heute startet die neue Challenge bei Whiff Of Joy - und diesmal lautet unser Thema For The Girls.

Hello everyone - and first of all a happy new year 2014!

The year is starting slowly but it's definately time to finally share my first card.

Today we have our new challenge at Whiff Of Joy going life - and the first theme of this year is "for the girls".

 Ich habe hier ein älteres Motiv Shopping Willow von Whiff Of Joy verwendet, das es leider derzeit nur als Mini im Shop gibt. Aber das ist ja das Schöne an den Challenges: man kann auch ältere Motive mal wieder verwenden.

Außerdem habe ich einige Die-Lights verwendet: den Beerenkranz direkt unter dem Motiv, einen der Pfeile aus dem Set Pfeile und das T-Shirt habe ich mit der Baby-Body-Stanze aus dem Set Süßer Fratz gemacht.

Das Wort Girls ist mit den Buchstaben-Perlen geschrieben.

I went with this older Shopping Willow stamp by Whiff Of Joy that is only available as a mini at the moment. But that's the great thing about the challenges: you can use any image by Whiff Of Joy, even the old ones.

I used a few different Die-Lights on my card: the Berry Wreath underneath the image, one of the arrows of the Die-Lights set Arrows and the shirt has been cut using the onesie die from the Bundle Of Joy set.

The word girls has been written using the Letter Pearls.

Auf der linken Seite geht der Text weiter: girls... love to shop. Der Stern im Kreis ist übrigens die zweite Stanze, die zusammen mit dem Beerenkranz geliefert wird.

The left side continues the saying: girls....love to shop. The cute star is made with the die that comes with the Berry Wreath Die-Light.

Und auf der rechten Seite habe Platz für eine Geschenkkarte geschaffen.

Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 21. Dezember 2013

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Heute haben wir beim Stempeleinmaleins Biba als Gastdesignerin. Und sie zeigt uns, wie man dieses tolle Mitbringsel ganz schnell werkeln kann. Und je nachdem, wie man es dekoriert, passt es sowohl für Weihnachten, Silvester, Geburtstag...

Today we at Stempeleinmaleins have Biba as our guest designer. And she shows how to make this great little gift really quick. And depending on how you decorate it, it fits every occasion of the year: christmas, new years eve, birthdays...

Enthalten sind drei Wunderkerzen, die fest in einer Lasche stecken.

Dekoriert habe ich mit einem Text von Whiff Of Joy - der Funkenregen aus dem Clearstamp Set Word Definitionen Deutsche Texte passt doch hier einfach perfekt! Daneben habe ich eine Schneeflocke aus Glitzerpapier mit einem Stern darauf und darunter silbernem Engelhaar gesetzt. Kleine Glitzersteine, eine weiße Schleife und einen größeren Glitzerstern runden das ganze ab. Und auch das Designpapier glitzert... Funkenregen eben!

The pocket holds three sparklers that are fixed by a flap so they can't fall out.

I used one of the text by Whiff Of Joy on my gat - it says "shower of sparks" and it is just the perfect saying for this project! Beside I added a sparkling snowflake with a star on top and I added some silver angel wire underneath. A few small rhinestones, a white bow and a bigger star cut from glitter paper make the decoration perfect. And even the designer's paper is sparkling... just a sower of sparks at all!

Today I want to share my creation for the 16 Days of Stockings over at the Whiff Of Joy World of Ideas Blog.

Da bei uns die Strümpfe nicht so sehr verwendet werden, habe ich einen Nikolausstiefel gemacht, den meine Schwiegereltern zu Nikolaus bekommen haben, lecker gefüllt mit Schokolade. Und passend dazu habe ich den Stempel "Nikolaus und Krampus" verwendet. Und wo ist Krampus? Naja, ich wollte meine Schwiegereltern nicht erschrecken und habe nur den so wunderbar freundlich dreinblickenden Nikolaus verwendet...

Since Stockings aren't used much here in Germany I made a Nikolaus boot, that kids traditionally put out on the evenings of the 5th. During the night Nikolaus comes by and fills the boots of the good kids with apples, nuts and sweets and most times also leaves a small gift. We gave this boot to my in-laws as a Nikolaus gift, filled with chocolats. And matching my theme I used the "Nikolaus and Krampus" stamp. Where's Krampus, you might ask? Well, he punishes the naughty kids and since I didn't want to scare my in-laws he stood at home this time and I went with the wonderful friendly looking Nikolaus only this time...

Den Deckel habe ich mit dem Die-Lights-Set Holly, einem glitzernden Stern, etwas Goldkordel und einem der Texte aus dem Textset Deutsche Weihnachtstexte verziert.

The lid has been decorated with the Die-Light set Holly, a sparkling star, some golden thread and one of the sayings from the German Christmas Sayings set.

Der Tannenbaum und der Schlitten auf dem Stiefel sind neue Cutting Dies von Magnolia, die kamen gerade passend bei mir an und ich musste sie einfach ausprobieren!

The christmas tree and the sleigh on the boot are new cutting dies by Magnolia. They arrived just in time and I just had to try them!

Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 14. Dezember 2013

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Heute gibt es wieder eine neue Ausgabe des Stempeleinmaleins. Diesmal mit einer Anleitung für eine kleine Zieh-Schachtel, in der man prima einen kleinen süßen Gruß verpacken kann.

Today there is a new issue of Stempeleinmaleins. This week we have a tutorial for a little box that is great to send out some sweet greetings.

Meine Schachtel ist aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gewerkelt. Für den äußeren Teil habe ich Vellum verwendet - so kann man schon ein klein wenig in durch die Verpackung den Inhalt erkennen.

Verziert ist das ganze mit einem ausgestanzten Doily aus Vellum, darunter ein Gegenstück aus türkisfarbenem Cardstock, das ich an den Rändern mit weißem UTEE überzogen habe. Darauf prangt ein silberne Gitzerstern und ein kleines Glöckchen. Um zu verhindern, dass die Schachtel von selbst aufgeht, habe ich silberfarbene Gummikordel darumgewickelt. 

Der Text ist aus dem Kalorienreich-Set von Whiff Of Joy.

I made my box from cream cardstock. For the outer part I used Vellum - so you can have a little peak at the content through the lid.

I decorated the bo with doily that I punched out from Vellum, underneath I put another doily that I added some white UTEE to. On top I put a silver star and a little bell. To avoid the inner box from sliding out I used some silver cord that I tied around the box.

Saying is from the Kalorienreich-Set by Whiff Of Joy.

In die Box habe ich zwei hochprozentige Pralinen gepackt und dazu noch etwas von diesem Deko-Engelshaar. 

Inside the box I put two chocolats filled with egg nogg and also some of the angel's hair that you can buy for decorations.

Today the last challenge at Magnolia Down Under goes live. Don't worry, it's only the last one for 2013! ;)

That means you have until january 12th to enter and the theme is "anything goes"... Isnt this a great final for 2013?

 Auf dem Blog von Lili of the Valley habe ich eine solche Karte/Box gesehen. Sie ist eine 3dimensionale Box, die zum Verschicken aber "flach gelegt" werden kann. 

Leider konnte ich nirgends eine Anleitung für diese Karte finden, und so habe ich sie so gemacht, wie ich meinte, dass es funktionieren könnte...

At the Lili of the Valley blog I came across one of these cards/boxes. It's a 3 dimensional standing box but for sending you can make it as flat as a card.

I wasn't able to find a tutorial for how to make this and so I've been putting my thinking cap on and made it how I thought it might work...

Für die Karte habe ich 4 verschiedene Motive aus der neusten Kollektion verwendet, allerdings die Mini-Versionen davon. Auch die Bäume im Hintergrund sind von Magnolia. 

Der Schnee ist aus weißem Glitzerpapier geschnitten, die Schneeflocke ist von Whiff Of Joy und der Text von Studio G.

I used 4 images from the Winter Wonderland Collection but went with the minis of these. Also the trees in the background are by Magnolia.

The snow has been cut from white glitter paper, the snowflake is by Whiff Of Joy, saying by Studio G.

Ich finde es toll, wie die Szene aus jedem Winkel anders wirkt...

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Zeit für eine neue Ausgabe des Stempeleinmaleins! Und diesmal zeigen wir Euch die  "5 Minuten Weihnachten". Es gibt verschiedene Varianten und es ist ein schönes Geschenk, das obendrein auch noch schnell gemacht ist.

Time for a new issue of Stempeleinmaleins! This week we are showing you how to make the "5 minutes of christmas". There are different versions and it's a cute gift that can also be made fast.

Ich habe für meine 5 Minuten Weihnachten eine große Pillowbox mit Henkel gemacht und sie schön weihnachtlich verziert. Ein großer Stern von SU, embossed in silber, dazu ein Glöckchen, Schleifen und Engelsflügel.

Das Werk möchte meine Große gerne als Wichtelgeschenk in ihrer Klasse verwenden, und da die Empfängerin die Nr. 16 gezogen hat habe ich oben die Nummern angebracht.

I made a large pillowbox with a handle added and decorated it festively. A large star by SU embossed with silber embossing powder, a bell, bows and angel wings.

My oldest is using this as her gift for the gift swap/adventcalender in her class and since the one who is getting is picked day 16 I added the numbers to the top of the box. 

Auf der Rückseite steht dann die "Anleitung", zusammen mit ein paar Gedanken über die "besinnnliche Weihnachtszeit". 

On the backside I added the instructions and some thoughts about the "quiet christmas time".

Gefüllt ist die Box mit diesen dekorierten Teilen - Teelicht, Lebkuchen und Streichholzschachtel - und zusätzlich noch einem Teebeutel, einem Teelichtglas und einer weihnachtlichen Geschichte.

The box is filled with these decorated items - a tealight candle, gingerbread and a matchbox - and additional with a teabag, a tealight glass and a christmas story.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge # 169

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Heute startet die neue Challenge bei Whiff Of Joy - die letzte für dieses Jahr, bevor wir in eine kleine Weihnachtspause gehen. Und das Thema diesmal lautet "use a die-light". Also benutzt bitte eine der tollen Stanzen von Whiff Of Joy - die Auswahl ist ja riesig!

Hello everyone!

Today the new Whiff Of Joy challenge goes life - the last one for this year because we're having a little christmas break. Our theme is "use a die-light". So use one of the amazing dies Whiff Of Joy offers, there are so many georgeous ones available!

 Ich habe diesmal einen Tag gemacht. Dieser ist aus cremefarbenem Cardstock, den ich komplett mit Schneeflocken aus dem Set Weihnachtsanhänger silbern embosst habe.

Darüber liegt eine Lage Transparentpapier, darauf habe ich ebenfalls silber 24. Dezember embosst. Den Stempel findet Ihr im Set Deutsche Weihnachtstexte. Damit der Text auch gut auffällt, habe ich von hinten einen Streifen weißen Cardstock angebracht.

Der Kranz ist mit den 3 größten Formen des Die-Light Sets Geschwungene Blätter gemacht. Man kann die kleineren wunderbar ein wenig biegen und so entsteht ein perfekte Kranz.

Dekoriert ist der Kranz mit einer großen Schleife, den kleineren Flügeln aus dem Set Engelsflügel und einer gestanzten Schleife, dem Oberteil der Hänger aus dem Die-Light Set Christbaumkugeln.

Oben am Tag habe ich dann noch einen der süßen kleinen Türhänger Die-Lights angebracht, bestempelt mit einem Text von SU.

Abgerundet wird das Design dann noch von einem Charm aus der Box Of Charms Nr. 9, der im Kranz hängt.

Man sieht, es braucht nicht immer unbedingt ein coloriertes Motiv...

I made a tag this time. It's cut from cream cardstock and all over I embossed the snowflake from the german text set Weihnachtsanhänger using silver embossing powder.

On top of the tag there is a layer of transparency and on that I stamped the words 24. Dezember that can be found in the German Christmas Text set. To make it pop a little more I added a strip of white cardstock behind the transparency.

The wreath has been made using the 3 biggest dies from the Swirly Leaves Die-Lights set. The smaller ones can be bend a little and so you get the perfect wreath.

The wreath is decorated with a white bow, the smaller wings from the Die-Light Set Angel Wings and a cut out bow, made using the top from the Die-Light Set Christmas Baubles.

I also added one of the cute little Doorhanger Die-Lights that I stamped a saying by SU on.

The tag gets its finished look by the charm hanging in the wreath, that can be found in the Box of Charms Nr. 9.

As you can see, you don't always need a colored image on your creations...

So, here's my creation:

Angel Maya heißt dieses wunderbare Motiv - und ich habe mich sofort darin verliebt. Es erinnert mich so wunderbar an einige Weihnachtsbücher, die ich als Kind so geliebt habe bzw. meinen eigenen Kindern vorgelesen habe. 

Angel Maya is the name of this beautiful image - and I fell in love with it instantly. It reminds me so much of those christmas books I loved as a child or that I read to my own children.

Das Colorieren hat irrsinnig viel Spaß gemacht. Engel brauchen hellblonde Haare, zumindest wenn sie so klein sind. Außerdem passen die prima zum goldenen Stern und dem Heiligenschein. Stern, Heiligenschein und Flügel brauchten natürlich eine Schicht Glitzer, der Stern ist von gelbem Schein aus Schimmerkreide umgeben. Und den Hintergrund habe ich mit Airbrush gestaltet.

Coloring this cutie in was so much fun. Angels need light blond hair, at least when they are still that young. And these also go wonderfully with the golden star and hailo. Star, hailo and wings needed some glitter, of course, and the star is surrounded by a light golden light from shimmer chalk. The background has been airbrushed.

Ich war gerade am Überlegen, was ich mit diesem tollen Motiv denn machen sollte, als meine Mutter anrief. Ich hatte vor einiger Zeit eine Buchbox gemacht, die nun eine Freundin meiner Mutter verschenken möchte. Aber es gibt zwei Enkel, und die sollen sich schließlich nicht streiten. Darum wurde ich gebeten, eine weitere Buchbox zu machen. 

Die Box ist aus blauem Cardstock, passend zum Himmel um da Motiv. Und da durften dann glitzernde Sterne aus Goldfolie nicht fehlen. Als Deko habe ich außerdem die Flügel aus dem Die-Light-Set Engelsflügel verwendet - beide Größen ausgestanzt, aufeinander gesetzt und mit einem goldenen Glöckchen und Schleife verziert. 

Der Text auf dem Buchrücken - der eigentlich ganz gerade war und nur auf dem Foto irgendwie krumm aussieht - ist aus dem Set Deutsche Weihnachtstexte. Dazu habe ich ein paar Sterne embossed sowie goldene Zackenlitze aufgesetzt. 

I was thinking about what to use this cutie for when my mom called. Some time ago I made a book box and one of my mom's friends is gifting it to her grandchild. But, there are two grandchildren and these shouldn't fight over the box. So I was asked to make another one.

The box is made from blue cardstock, matching the sky around the image. And then there just had to be some golden glittering stars. As decoration I used the wings from the Angel Wings Die-Lights set, cut out both sizes, put them on top of each other and added a golden bell and bow.

The saying on the side - that was totally straight originally and just looks strange on the picture - is from the German Christmas Sayings text set. I also added some embossed stars and some golden rick rack.

Aus dem Buch lässt sich unten/oben dann eine kleine Schublade herausschieben und mit einem Geschenk befüllen.

Whiff Of Joy Monthly Project November 2013

Einen wunderschönen 1. Advent Euch allen!

Heute möchte ich Euch mein Werk für das Whiff Of Joy Monatsprojekt zeigen. Diesmal lautet unser Thema "Weihnachtsdekoration".

Very happy 1st of december everyone!

Today I want to share my creation for the Whiff Of Joy Monthly Project. Our november theme is "christmas decorations".

Ich hatte diese tollen Weihnachtskugeln gesehen, in denen sich innen ein Motiv und Schnee befinden. Das muss ich auch probieren, dachte ich mir. Gut, meine Kugel ist mit knapp 12 cm Durchmesser etwas größer ausgefallen und somit nicht für den Baum geeignet. Aber als Deko läßt sie sich prima aufhängen.

In der Kugel sind die beiden Pinguine des Stempels "ein fischiges Geschenk". Sie waren von der Größe her ideal und passen natürlich auch prima in eine Schneekugel. 

Und nun das große Aber: habt Ihr schon mal probiert, eine wunderbar glänzende, durchsichtige Weihnachtskugel so zu fotografieren, dass keine Spiegelung darauf zu sehen ist? So muss ich  mich also für das nicht wirklich perfekte Bild entschuldigen...

I saw these beautiful baubles with images and snow inside. You have to try this was what I thought. Okay, my bauble measures about 12 cm in diameter and so it's too large to be put on a christmas tree. But it also looks cute hanging somewhere in a room as decoration.

Inside the bauble there are the two cute penguins from the "a fishy present" image. They were perfect in size and also fit great into a snowy scene.

And now here's the big problem about this bauble: have you ever tried to take a photo of one of a shiny, transparent bauble in a way that you don't see any light on it? So I have to apologize for the not really perfect picture...

Oben auf der Kugel befindet sich eine große Schleife mit Schneeflocke und davon hängen zwei rote Handschuhe, geschnitten mit dem Die-Light Winterliches Zubehör. Außerdem habe ich den oberen Teil der Kugel noch mit Schneepaste, Glitzerkristallen und Samtpuder überzogen.

On top of the bauble I put a big bow with a snowflake and from there hanging down two mittens, cut using the Die-Lights "Winter Accesories". I also put some snow with glitter and velvet flock on top of the bauble.

Ich hoffe, man kann sich trotzdem vorstellen, wie schön die Kugel in Wirklichkeit aussieht...
