Heute habe ich eine weitere Karte mit Stanzen aus dem Januar-Release von Concord and 9th für Euch. Ich war sofort in die Pommes samt Box verliebt - und die Wortspiele im dazugehörigen Stempelset sind ja absolut meins. Also machen wir mir dieser Karte einen Abstecher in das Land des Fast Food.

Today I have another card using dies from Concord and 9th's january release. I immediately fell in love with the french fries die set - and the puns in the matching stamp set are right down my alley. So with this card we are taking a trip into the world of fast food.

 

Wie so viele, verbinde ich mit Pommes die Farben rot, weiß und gelb. Ob das an der Kombi Pommes, Ketchup und Mayo oder doch eher an den Farben einer bekannten Fast Food Kette liegt, kann ich nicht so genau sagen. 

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit den Layered Sunburst Stencils von PinkFresh gemacht die es in verschiedenen Formaten gibt. Ich habe das Set in A2-Größe benutzt. Basis war hellgelber Cardstock, auf den habe ich dann Strahlen mit Distress Ink Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade und Candied Apple aufgetragen. Auf die Enden der Strahlen kam noch ein wenig Fired Brick. Die Strahlen überlagern sich teilweise und an manchen Stellenist noch die Originalfarbe des Cardstocks zu sehen. 

Auf den Hintergrund habe ich dann erst Wasser und dann weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Mittig auf den Cardstock habe ich dann diese "Blasenform", wie man sie aus Comics kennt, aufgeklebt. Sie ist der Rest des Comic Cover A2 von WhimsyStamps. Ich habe ein schwarzes und ein weißes Stanzteil leicht versetzt aufeinander und dann beides auf den Hintergrund geklebt. So heben sich die Pommes samt Box später besser vom Hintergrund ab. Außerdem finde ich, dass die Form super zum Design der Karte passt. 

 

Like many I have to think of the color combo of red, white and yellow when I think of french fries. I can't tell if that's because of french fries with ketchup and maionaise or because of the colors of a well known fast food brand.

For the background I used the Layered Sunburst Stencils by PinkFresh for the background. They are available in different sizes, I used the A2 ones. I started with a piece of light yellow cardstock and inked the rays on using Distress Ink Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Candied Apple. Onto the ends of the red rays I applied a bit of Fired Brick. The rays overlay each other, in some spots there's still the original color of the cardstock visible.

I first splattered some droplets of water, then some white acrylic paint onto the cardstock.

Onto the center of the cardstock I glued this "bubble", that's known from the world of comics. It's the left over piece from the Comic Cover A2 by WhimsyStamps. I stacked a black and a white die cut a bit offset and then glued both onto the background. This way the fries and box are visible more clearly on the background and I also think, the shape goes great with the card design. 

 

 Hier ist die Pommes-Box samt Inhalt aus dem So Fry-Tastic Stanzenset von Concord and 9th/Kristina Werner. Ich bekomme Hunger, wenn ich die Karte ansehe!

Die Box habe ich aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics leicht schattiert. Dann habe ich sie ein weiteres Mal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und daraus mit der Schere zwei Streifen, angepasst an die Form der Box, ausgeschnitten. Mit denen habe ich die Box dekoriert, damit sie nicht gar so nackt aussieht. 

Die Pommes in der Box bestehen aus fünf verschiedenen Lagen, die alle als einzelne Stanzen im Set enthalten sind. Außerdem gibt es noch zwei einzelne Pommes. Ich habe alles aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen hellgelben Cardstocks gestanzt und dann mit Copics schattiert. Die "Kante" habe ich dann mit einem hellbraunen Polychromo aufgemalt. Außerdem habe ich etwas Distress Ink Gathered Twigs mit ein wenig Wasser gemischt und aufgespritzt. Die Idee mit dem "Salz" kommt von Jennifer McGuire. Ich habe winzige Tropfen Kleber auf die Pommes aufgetragen und dann etwas von dem Clear Rock Candy Glitter von Tim Holtz aufgestreut.

I cut the box from red cardstock and shaded it with Copics. Then I cut it again from white cardstock and used my scissors to cut out two strips of that white die cut, making them match the shape of the box. I used these to decorate the box so it's not just plain red.

 The fries in the box are made from 5 layers, that are all included in the die set as individual dies. There are also two single fries included. I cut all of them from two different shades of light yellow cardstock and shaded them with Copics. The "edges" I added with a light brown Polychromo. I also mixed a bit of Distress Ink Gathered Twigs with a bit of water and splattered it onto the fries. The idea of adding "salt" is by Jennifer McGuire. I applied tiny drops of liquid glue to the fries and then sprinkled some of the Clear Rock Candy glitter by  Tim Holtz into the glue.

 

 Auch das ausgestanzte Wort Fries ist aus dem Stanzenset. Ich habe zwei Lagen gelben Cardstocks aufeinander geklebt und alles it einer Lage aus schwarzem Cardstock als Schatten hinterlegt. Es gibt eine Shadow Layer für die großen Worte, aber das war mir hier zu plakativ. Statt des I-Punkts habe ich ein weißes Herz aufgeklebt.

Die kleinen Textteile sind aus dem So Fry-Tastic Stempelset und einfach weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.  Und weil mein Mann das Wortspiel nicht sofort verstanden hat, es bezieht sich natürlich auf "I only have eyes for you". ;)

An die untere Kante der Pommesbox habe ich dann noch die beiden einzelnen Pommes geklebt.

 

Also the die cut word "fries" is from the die set. I stacked two layers of yellow cardstock and then added a black word behind them as a shadow layer. There is a larger shadow layer for the words included in the set, but that would have covered to much of the box here. Instead of the dot on the i I used a white clay heart.

The smaller texts are fro the So Fry-Tastic stamp set and simply heat embossed white onto black cardstock. 

Onto the bottom of the box I then glued the two individual fries.

 

 Die Pommesbox ist mit 3D Tape auf die weiße Blase geklebt, dann habe ich damit auch die Blase samt Deko auf dem Hintergrund angebracht. 

Rund um die Deko habe ich einige schwarze Glitzersteine verteilt, dann den dekorierten Cardstock schwarz gemattet und alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I glued the box of fries to the white bubble with foam tape, then used more tape to adhere the bubble with the decoration onto the background.

I added some black rhinestones around the image, then matted the card panel black and adhered it to a white note card.

 

Hello Spring

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Der Frühling kommt immer näher - und ich kann ihn kaum erwarten. Und wie jedes Jahr um diese Zeit, hole ich die Schneeglöckchen-Stempel hervor. Ich liebe Schneeglöckchen, sie sind für mich der Inbegriff von Frühlingsboten. Tapfer blühen sie, selbst wenn sie sich vorher noch durch eine dicke Lage Schnee kämpfen müssen.

Spring is coming closer - and I can't wait until it's here. And as every year it's about time to bring out my snowdrops stamp. I love snowdrops, they are the ultimate sign of spring to me. Bravely they start blooming, even if they have to fight through a thick layer of snow to do so.

Der Hintergrund besteht hier aus einem Stück hellblauen Cardstocks, auf den ich gelb-goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt habe. 

Darauf befindet sich der Twist Pattern von PinkFresh, er erinnert mich irgendwie ein wenig an Sonnenstrahlen. Ich habe erst die Hotfoil Plate mit gelb-goldener Folie auf weißen Cardstock foliert und dann alles mit der passenden Stanze ausgestanzt. Dann habe ich sie so zugeschnitten, dass sie auf eine deutsche A2-Karte passt. Das war gar nicht so einfach, denn ich wollte das Muster mittig setzen. Beim Abschneiden blieb dann links und rechts nur ein ganz dünner Streifen der Plate übrig. Aber es hat gerade noch geklappt.

Ich finde, das Gold holt die Sonne auf die Karte.

The background is made from a piece of light blue cardstock, that I splattered some yellow-gold metallic watercolor onto.

On top I put the Twist Pattern by PinkFresh. that reminds me of sunrays. I first hotfoiled the pattern with the hotfoil plate and yellow-gold foil onto white cardstock, then cut it out with the matching die. Then I cut it down to make it fit a german A2 sized card base. It really wasn't easy because I wanted the pattern to be centered. That left just a really thin strip of the pattern on the left and right edge, but it just worked.

I think, the gold brings some sunshine onto the card.

Der Schneeglöckchen-Stempel ist aus dem Set Endlich Frühilng von Create a Smile. Ich habe ihn mit hellblauer Tinte gestempelt und dann quasi in No-Line Technik coloriert. Ich finde, schwarze Stempellinien passen einfach nicht zu den zarten Schneeglöckchen. Zum Colorieren habe ich Copics benutzt und dann noch einige Bereiche mit Prismacolors definiert.

Aus weißem Cardstock habe ich einen Schneehügel in der Breite des Cardstocks gestanzt und ebenfalls mit Copics hellblau schattiert. Außerdem habe ich mit einem der Oval Shadows von MFT ein längliches Oval aus dem Schnee gestanzt und grünen Cardstock dahinter gesetzt. Direkt um Schneeglöckchen herum schmilzt der Schnee ja meist, und man dann das Gras darunter sehen. In den grünen Cardstock habe ich einen Schlitz geschnitten und das ausgeschnittene Motiv hineingesteckt.

The snowdrops image is from Endlich Frühling by Create a Smile. I stamped it with light blue ink and then did some kind of no-line coloring to color them in. I just think, black outlines don't go with the fragile look of those flowers. I used Copics to color the snowdrops and then re-defined a few areas with Prismacolors.

From white cardstock I die cut a snow layer in the width of the cardstock, then colored it a light blue with Copics. I also cut a long thin oval from the snow layer using one of the Oval Shadows by MFT, then put some green cardstock behind it. Around snowdrops most times the snow has melted so you can see the grass, that was hidden under it. I cut a slit into the green cardstock and tucked the cut out snowdrops into it.

Den Text habe ich mit einer der Hello-Stanzen von MFT - eine mit passender Schattenlage - gemacht. Die Schattenlage ist aus Vellum, der Text aus goldenem Spiegel-Cardstock gestanzt. Unter dem Vellum und auch unter dem goldenen Wort befinden sich jeweils zwei aus weißem Cardstock gestanzte Worte. Die bringen den Text ein wenig nach oben, ohne dass ich vorsichtig winzige 3D Tape-Stückchen hinter dem gestanzten Wort verstecken muss.

Das Wort Spring darunter ist aus dem Window Scene Spring Stempelset von LawnFawn. Ich habe es mit weißer Tinte auf hellblauen Cardstock gestempelt und dann mit pearl-gold Embossingpulver embosst.

The text is made using one of the hello dies by MFT - one with a matching shadow layer. I cut the shadow from vellum, the text from gold mirror cardstock. Behind the vellum and behind the gold word there are two layers cut from white cardstock. This raises the text without me having to fiddle with tiny pieces of foam tape, trying to hide them behind the die cut word.

The word spring is from Window Scene Spring by LawnFawn. I stamped it with white ink onto light blue cardstock, then heat embossed it with some pearl-gold embossing powder.

Das Twist-Muster und dann auch die Schneelage sind jeweils mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Auch hinter dem Wort Spring befindet sich ein Stück davon. 

Als Deko habe ich dann noch ein paar kleine gelb-goldene Pailetten auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I put thin foam tape behind the twist pattern and also the snow layer. There's also a little piece of it behind the word spring.

I added a few small yellow-gold sequins as decoration and then adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Autumn Blessings

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Heute habe ich eine weitere herbstliche Karte für Euch. Und im ersten Moment mag sie vielleicht sogar ein wenig wie das letzte Aufbäumen des Sommers aussehen. Aber an sonnigen und warmen Herbsttagen flattern doch hin und wieder noch ein paar Libellen zwischen all den farbenfrohen Herbstblumen herum. Und das hat mich dann zu dieser Karte inspiriert.

Today I have another fall card to share with you. At first sight it might even look like the last moments of summer. But every now and then, on sunny and warm fall days, you can still see some dragonflies flutter around all those colorful fall flowers. That's what inspired me to make this card.

Für die Karte habe ich das Motiv aus dem Chrysanthemum Slimline Set von PinkFresh mit klarem Embossingpuler mit silbernen Glitzerpartikeln auf ein Stück Watercolor embosst und dann mit Distress Ink coloriert. So war der Farbverlauf von rot nach gelb ganz einfach.

For the card I heat embossed the image from the Chrysanthemum Slimline set by PinkFresh onto a piece of watercolor cardstock using some clear embossing powder with silver glitter, then colored it with Distress Inks. That made it really easy to get the color change from red to yellow.

Hier sieht Ihr die Blume genauer. Da das Motiv eigentlich eine Slimline Card ist, es also nicht komplett auf meine Karte passte, ergab sich rechts zwischen den Blütenblättern eine Art Loch. Dorthinein habe ich einfach das Blatt, das sich eigentlich unter der Blume befindet, abgestempelt und das Blütenblatt darüber einfach wegmaskiert, deswegen hat es eine etwas lustige Form.

Zum Colorieren habe ich Scattered Straw, Crackling Campfire, Aged Mahogany, Shabby Shutters und Peeled Paint verwendet. Dann habe ich den Hintergrund mit Broken China coloriert und über alles weiße Acrylfarbe und goldene Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Here you get a better look at the flower. Since the image is made to fit a slimline card, it didn't fit my card size and I ended up with some kind of hole between the petals on the right. Into that spot I simply stamped the leaf, that's under the flower on the whole image, masking off the flower petal over it, hence the kind of funny shape.

To color the image I used Scattered Straw, Crackling Campfire, Aged Mahogany, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. Then I also colored the background with Broken China and splatttered white acrylic paint and gold metallic watercolor over the whole cardstock piece.

Oben auf die Karte habe ich dann die Libelle gesetzt. Den Körper habe ich wieder aus Watercolor Cardstock gestanzt und mit Scorched Timber coloriert. Die Flügel sind aus Pearlescent Vellum von LawnFawn gestanzt.

Onto the top of the card I added my dragonfly. I die cut the body from watercolor cardstock again, then colored it with Scorched Timber. The wings I've die cut from Pearlescent Vellum by LawnFawn.

Der Text ist aus dem Autumn Blessings Stempelset von MFT. Ich habe Teile von zwei verschiedenen Stempeln aus dem Set benutzt und sie mit goldener Metallic-Pigment-Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. Dann habe ich sie ausgeschnitten.

The text is from the Autumn Blessings stamp set by MFT. I combined parts of two stamps from the set and stamped them with gold metallic pigment ink onto white cardstock. Then I cut them out with my scissors.

Die Libelle und den schmalen Textstreifen habe ich mit dünnem, das Wort Autumn mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Die Flügel habe ich leicht nach oben gebogen, so wirkt die Libelle echter.

Als Deko habe ich noch ein paar goldene Perlen auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling aufgeklebt.

I used thin foam tape behind the dragonfly and the small text strip, the word autumn I backed with some thick foam tape. The wings of the dragonfly I bended slightly up, that makes it look more realistic. 

I added a few gold pearls as decoration, then adhered the card panel to a white note card.

July Technique Throwback Challenge

Momentan ist so viel los, da hätte ich beinah die Technik Throwback Thursday Challenge von Juli verpasst. Beinahe, denn quasi in letzter Minute habe ich diese Karte gewerkelt. Das Thema diesen Monat ist das Stenciled Stamping Technique Video von Jennifer McGuire.

Life's so busy at the moment, I nearly missed the Technique Throwback Challenge of july. Nearly, because last minute I made this card. The theme this month is Jennifer's Stenciled Stamping Technique video.

Nun, ich mag ja diese Challenges, denn sie holen mich wirklich oft aus meiner Komfortzone heraus. Aber diese Karte war eine echte Herausforderung. Zuerst gefiel mir die Farbkombi nicht (ich hatten den Hintergrund erst in Gelb- und Orangetönen gestaltet), dann hat das mit dem Stenciled Stamping im Hintergrund nicht so funktioniert, wie geplant. Lag wohl daran, dass ich einen Gummi- und keinen Clearstamp verwendet habe (versucht mal einen Stencil mit Klebeband aufklappbar im Misti anzubringen, wenn er gleichzeitig auf einen Gummistempel passen soll). Aber im Endeffekt kann man die Herzen dann doch erkennen. 

Ich habe den Pop-Up Sunburst Stempel von PinkFresh für den Hintergrund verwendet. Hier kann man jede Strahle einzeln entnehmen - oder auch stempeln. Ich habe jeden zweiten entfernt und die anderen mit hellrosa Tinte abgestempelt. Dann habe ich die anderen Strahlen eingesetzt und in dunklerem Pink gestempelt. Dann habe ich mit einem Herzenstencil und Distress Oxide Victorian Velvet die Herzen auf die Strahlen aufgebracht. 

I really like these challenges, because they make me leave my comfort zone. But this card was a real challenge. First I didn't like my color choices (I had done the background in yellows and oranges), then the Stenciled Stamping didn't work as planned. Most likely because I used a rubber instead of a clear stamp. Try to hinge a stencil into your Misti to use with a rubber stamp - the stamp is way too thick for that). But in the end you can recognize the hearts on the background.

I used the Pop-Up Sunburst stamp by PinkFresh for the background. Here you can remove every single ray  and stamp them individually. I removed every other ray and stamped the remaining ones with light pink ink. Then I switched the rays with the not yet used ones and stamped those with a darker pink. Then I added the hearts with a heart stencil and Distress Oxide Victorian Velvet.

Mittelpunkt der Karte ist der große Text. Und da das mit der Stenciled Stamping Technik so ganz funktioniert hatte, wollte ich es doch gleich nochmal probieren, diesmal mit einem Clearstamp. Da kamen das Jumbo Sentiments Set von TheTon wie gerufen. Ich habe das Thanks erst mit blauer Tinte abgestempelt und dann das Muster  mit dem Sphere Stencil von Altenew und Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire aufgetragen. Und diesmal hat es perfekt funktioniert. Dann habe ich den Text mit der passenden Outlinestanze ausgestanzt.

Weil ich den Bereich zwischen A und N so nackt fand, habe ich hier noch ein kleines Herz aufgeklebt. Das habe ich aus einem Stück weißen Cardstock gestanzt, den ich vorher mit dem dunkler pinken Stempelkissen eingefärbt habe.

Die Blumen sind aus dem Vintage Flowers Stempelset von Altenew. Ich habe sie in Türkistönen gestempelt - entweder mit blauer oder pinker Mitte. Dort habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift einige Highlights aufgetupft. Zwischen die Blumen habe ich dann noch ein paar Zweige, gestanzt aus Vellum, geschoben.

Direkt auf den Hintergrund habe ich dann mit blauer Tinte noch ein "so very much", ebenfalls aus dem Jumbo Sentiments Set, aufgestempelt.

The center of this card is the large text. And since the Stenciled Stamping didn't work as hoped on the background, I decided to try it again, this time using a clear stamp. So the Jumbo Sentiments by TheTon were perfect. I stamped the thanks with blue ink and then added the pattern using Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire and the Sphere stencil by Altenew. This time it worked like charm. And then I cut out the text using the matching die.

Because I thought the area between the A and N was too plain I added a small heart there. I die cut that from a piece of white cardstock, that I had inked with the darker pink ink pad.

The flowers are from the Vintage Flowers stamp set by Altenew. I stamped them in aquas, adding either a pink or a blue center. Then I added a few highlights with a white gel pen. Between the flowers I put a few branches, cut from vellum. 

Directly onto the background I also stamped a "so very much", again from the Jumbo Sentiments set, using blue ink.

Ich habe die Blüten mit dünnem, den Text mit dickem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Dann habe ich einige pink-irisierende Steinchen auf der Karte verteilt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles noch auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I attached the flowers with thin, the text with thick foam tape. Then I added a few pink iridescent rhinestones to the card.

To finish it, I just attached it to a white note card.

Watercolor Card

Momentan bin ich ein wenig am Rumprobieren, mal andere Techniken etc. Und so ist diese Watercolor Card entstanden - und das auch noch komplett ohne Stanzteile!

At the moment I am playing a bit with all the stuff I have, trying new techniques etc. And so made this watercolor card - and it's also without any die cuts!

Ich habe Watercolor Cardstock etwas kleiner als mein Kartenrohling zugeschnitten und zuerst den hellblauen Hintergrund mit viel Wasser aufgetragen. 

I cut a piece of watercolor cardstock a bit smaller than my card base and then created the background first with lots of water.

Der Vogel ist ein Stempel, den ich mir vor kurzem bei Action mitgenommen habe. Den habe ich mit Versafine Nocturne Black gestempelt und dann mit den ZIG Markern in Grün-, Blau- und Lilatönen coloriert. 

This bird image is a die I recently bought at a Dollar store. I stamped it with Versafine Nocturne Black and then colored it with my ZIGs in greens, blues and purple.

Mit einem ganz feinen Pinsel habe ich, nachdem die Farbe getrocknet war, noch Liquid Pixie Dust von InkOn3 pur in ganz kleinen Punkten auf das Motiv aufgetragen und so dem Vogel etwas Struktur und Glitter gegeben.

After the color had dried I added tiny dots of Liquid Pixie Dust by InkOn3 onto the image using a very fine brush, giving the bird some structure and shimmer.

Das tolle Blumenmotiv ist aus dem Chrysanthemum Slimline Stempelset von PinkFresh - auch das habe ich mit den ZIG Markern coloriert. Die Blütenblätter sind in dunklem Lila mit hell-lila farbenen Blütenspitzen.

Für den Text habe ich Stempel aus den Sets Believe und Color von HoneybeeStamps kombiniert und die Worte weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich sie mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

The great floral image is from the Chrysanthemum Slimline stamp set by PinkFresh. Again I used my ZIGs to color it in, doing the petals in a dark purple with light red-purplish tips.

For the text I combined stamps from the stamp sets Believe and Color by HoneybeeStamps. I white heat embossed them onto strips of black cardstock, then adhered them with thin foam tape.

Vor dem Aufkleben der Textstreifen, habe ich die Motive noch mit Masking Tape abgedeckt und weiße Acrylfarbe auf den Hintergrund und anschließend ganz leicht auch über die Blume gespritzt.

Zum Schluss habe ich einige klar-irisierende Glitzersteine auf die Karte geklebt, alles mit 3D Tape hinterlegt und auf der Kartenbasis angebracht.

Before adhering the text strips I covered the images with masking tape and spritzed some white acrylic paint over the background, then also just a bit over the flower image.

To finish the card I added a few clear iridescent rhinestones and mounted it with foam tape to the card base.

Ein UFO weniger

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Habt Ihr auch immer mal wieder UFOs auf Eurem Tisch liegen - UnFertige Objekte? Mir passiert das selten, und wenn doch, dann nervt mich das eigentlich total. Nun, heute zeige ich Euch eine Karte, die einige Zeit Ihr Dasein als UFO gefristet hat. Dabei war es eigentlich gar kein richtiges UFO, ich musste sie nur noch montieren! Das habe ich jetzt endlich getan, und so gibt es im November eine eher sommerlich-herbstliche Karte von mir. Aber Blumen gehen immer, finde ich.

Do you have UFOs - UnFinished Objects- lying on your desk every now and then like I do? It rarely happens to me, but I hate when it happens. Well, today I am sharing a card, that lay around as an UFO for quite some time. Actually it even wasn't a real UFO, I only needed to mount it onto a card base! Now I finally did, and so I am posting this pretty summerish/fallish looking card in november. But I think, flowers are never out of (cardmaking) season.

Ich habe hier eine Slimline Card mit dem Miss Your Smile Stempel und passendem Stencil von PinkFresh verwendet. Allerdings habe ich den Stencil ein wenig "stepped up" eingesetzt. 

Here I made a Slimline Card using the Miss Your Smile stamp and matching stencil by PinkFresh. But I stepped up my stenciling a bit. 

Zuerst habe ich das Motiv mit goldenem Embossingpulver auf Watercolor Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich die Stencil aufgelegt und mit Distress Ink - die genauen Farben kann ich nach so langer Zeit leider nicht mehr sagen - die Stencils aufgewischt. Die komplett gefüllte Lage habe ich dabei ausgelassen und mit dem Stencil Schritt 2 angefangen. Ich habe die Farbe durch den Stencil aufgewischt, den Stencil dann abgenommen und die Farbe mit einem Pinsel und Wasser etwas vermalt. Dann habe ich den nächsten Stencil aufgelegt und mit dunklerer Tinte genauso gearbeitet. Diesen letzten Stencil-Schritt habe ich ein zweites Mal wiederholt, damit es doch noch einige richtig dunkle Stellen gibt. Zwischen den einzelnen Farbschichten habe ich das Papier mit einem Embossingfön getrocknet. 

Zum Schluss habe ich rund um das Motiv hellgelb - ich glaube, ich habe Old Paper oder sogar Scattered Straw verwendet, aufgetragen und ebenfalls mit einem Pinsel und Wasser vermalt.

First I gold heat embossed the image onto watercolor paper. Then I laid down the stencil and used Distress Inks to add color to the image - I can't tell the exact colors anymore after such a long time. I skipped the first stencil layer with the solid image and started with stencil #2. I put the ink through the stencil onto to the image, then removed the stencil and used a brush and water to fade the color out. Then I put down the next stencil and did the same using some darker ink. I re-used the last stencil again to have some really dark areas on my image. Inbetween putting the colors down I dried my paper each time with a heat gun.

As a last step I put down some light yellow-ish ink around the image - I either used Old Paper or even Scattered Straw - and blended that out with water and a brush again.

Über das fertig colorierte Motiv habe ich dann weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt.

Und dann fehlte ein Text. Das Hello ist mit einem Stempel- und Stanzenset von MFT gemacht. Ich habe den Text golden auf weißen Cardstock embosst und mit einer genau passenden Stanze ausgestanzt. Dann habe ich den Schatten aus Vellum gestanzt und das Wort an sich noch einige weitere Male aus weißem Cardstock. Die weißen Stanzteile habe ich aufeinander geklebt, dann das Vellum und obenauf die golden embosste Lage. So konnte ich das Wort ohne 3D Tape ein wenig nach oben bringen.

Die beiden anderen Textteile sind schwarz auf goldenen Shimmer Cardstock gestempelt und mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich dann noch einige goldene Perlen auf der Karte verteilt.

I spritzed some white acrylic paint over the finished image.

Then I needed a text. I used a stamp and die set by MFT for the hello. I gold heat embossed the word hello onto white cardstock, then used a die to cut it out. I cut the shadow layer from vellum and cut a few more of the word from white cardstock. I stacked those, put the Vellum on top and then the heat embossed word on top of the vellum. This way I was able to create some dimension with that word without having to use foam tape.

The two other parts of the text are black stamped onto some golden shimmer cardstock and glued down with foam tape.

To finish the card I added a few golden pearls.

Bereits vor zwei Tagen habe ich Euch ja schon eine Karte mit dem Lush Garden Kit von Altenew gezeigt. Diesmal war das Silk Art Kit dran. Und Schuld ist Jennifer McGuire. Die hat vor kurzem in einem Video gezeigt, wie man Stencils, Stanzen etc kreativ miteinander kombinieren kann. Die Techniken wollte ich ungedingt probieren - aber einen großen, fast vollflächigen Motivstempelt hatte ich nicht. Also habe ich mich auf die Suche begeben, und dann das Kit gekauft, denn genau den Stempel hat sie in ihrem Video ebenfalls benutzt. Und das Kit ist klasse! Allerdings wollte ich mal wieder alles auf einmal, so dass das Ergebnis eventuell nicht ganz so klar ist, aber mir gefällt es trotzdem super.

Two days ago I've shared a card with you using the Lush Garden Kit by Altenew. This time I've used the Silk Art kit. And it's all Jennifer McGuires fault! She shared a video a little ago showing how to combine stamps and stencils creatively. I really had to try these techniques - but I didn't have a large, nearly solid image. I searched different shops and then ended up buying this kit, because it's exactly the stamp Jennifer used in her video. I love this kit! But it seems like I wanted too much on one card again so my result may not be as crisp as hers - I still love it.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich die Diagonal Stripes Hotfoil Plate von PinkFresh auf weißen Cardstock foliert. Ich hatte nicht erwartet, dass das Muster so stark rauskommt - die Folie, die ich verwendet habe, war nämlich recht transparent. Und als ich vor einiger Zeit das rosafarbene Pendant - allerdings damals auf rotem Cardstock - verwendet hatte, war das Muster kaum und eher perlmuttartig zu erkennen. Vielleicht liegt es am weißen Cardstock, aber die Streifen sind doch recht stark türkis geworden. Es passt trotzdem, finde ich. Aber um später zum Motiv etwas Kontrast zu sorgen, habe ich noch eines der Nested Hexagons von PinkFresh mit goldfarbener Folie auf weißen Cardstock foliert und ausgeschnitten. Dabei habe ich auch das innere Teil herausgeschnitten, so dass ich einen sechseckigen Rahmen erhalten habe. Den habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den gestreiften Hintergrund geklebt.

For the background I've foiled the Diagonal Stripes Hotfoil Plate by PinkFresh onto white cardstock. I didn't expect the stripes to be such a bright turquoise - the foil I've used was kind of a transparent turquoise. When I used the pink foil of the same style a little ago - on red cardstock then - the pattern was barely visible and had some kind of a mother-of-pearl look. Maybe it's the white cardstock underneath this time, but the stripes turned out pretty bright. I think it still looks wonderful on the card. But to add some contrast to the image I decided to golden foil one of the Nested Hexagons by PinkFresh onto white cardstock. I've cut out the center and around the outside of the hexagon to end up with a frame. I glued this down onto the background with some thin foam tape.

Hier könnt Ihr einen Ausschnitt des tollen Blumenmotivs besser sehen. 

Nun, im Kit sind ein 3D Embossingfolder, zwei Stencils - einmal layering für die Blumen und einmal solid zum Maskieren -, ein Stanzensets und ein Stempelset enthalten. In ihrem Video stempelt Jennifer das Motiv in Regenbogenverlauf und trägt dann durch einen gestreiften Stencil Farbe auf den Stempel auf, so dass die Blumen zudem ein Muster in Regenbogenverlauf erhalten. Ist jetzt ein wenig blöd auf die Schnelle zu erklären. Aber ich wollte die Blumen eher lebensecht und zusätzlich mit Muster. Also habe ich den Stempel in mein Misti geklebt, die verschiedenen Layering Stencil auf den Stempel gelegt und so die einzelnen Bereiche mit Distress Ink eingefärbt, die Blätter jeweils zweifarbig. Dann habe ich über den Stencil, der auf dem Stempel liegt, einen Stencil mit Spinnennetzmuster gelegt und so die Farbe auf die einzelnen Bereiche aufgetragen. Es war ein wenig kompliziert, so dann auch noch zu stempeln, denn die Stencils hatte ich mit einem Streifen Tape in den Deckel des Misti geklebt, so dass sie jedesmal auf derselben Stelle liegen. Also musste ich einen zur Seite, einen nach oben klappen und so dann das Misti schließen. Auch das Auftragen der Farbe durch zwei Stencil ging offenbar nicht ganz so super, denn die Linien sind nicht so klar wie bei Jennifer. Da man aber so nicht so gut erkennen kann, dass ich einen Spinnennetz-Stencil benutzt habe, finde ich das gar nicht so schlecht.

Für die Blumen habe ich Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade - für die Blütenmitten -, Twisted Citron und Mowed Lawn für die Blätter und Broken China sowie das neue Uncharted Mariner benutzt. 

Als alles gestempelt war, habe ich die Blumen mit der dazugehörigen Outlinestanze ausgestanzt und dann im 3D Folder geprägt. Das Blumenarrangement sieht so einfach klasse aus und erhält durch die Prägung noch mehr Tiefe.

Die Blütenmitten in hellgelb hat man dann nicht mehr so toll gesehen. Deswegen habe ich hier ein wenig Tacky-when-Dry Medium aufgetragen und nach dem Trocknen einen Rest goldener Folie darauf abgedrückt. So passen die Blumenmitten zum Sechseck-Rahmen.

Ich habe die Blumen mit dickerem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt, die überstehenden Teile weggeschnitten und dann an zwei Stellen der Karte direkt auf den Hintergrund - und unter den sechseckigen Rahmen - geklebt, um ein paar freie Stellen abzudecken.

Well, the kit contains a 3D Embossingfolder, two stencils - one layering and one solid for masking -, a die set and a stamp set. In her video Jennifer stamps the image with a rainbow pattern and then puts ink onto the stamp through a stencil so she ends up with a pattern in a rainbow on top of the image. It's kind of hard to explain in just a few words. Well - I wanted the flowers in kind of realistic colors AND a pattern on top. So I stuck the image in the door of my Misti, put the different layering stencils on top and inked up the different areas, the leaves even with some shading. Then I put another stencil with a spider web patttern on top of the one that was laying on the stamp and added more color to the different areas through both stencils. It was a bit tricky to stamp that way because I had used tape to stick both stencil to my Misti. So I had to lift one to the side, the other one to the top, then close the door with both stencils attached to stamp the image. Also putting ink through two stencils didn't give such crisp results as Jennifer ended up with. Well, since that means you can't really tell that I used a spiderweb stencil I'm not even sad about it.

For the flowers I used Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade for the flower centers, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the leaves and Broken China as well as the new Uncharted Mariner for the flower petals.

After I had stamped everything I used the matching die to cut the flower bouquet out and dry embossed it with the 3D embossing folder. I just love the look of it, the image gets so much depth from the combination of ink and embossing.

After the dry embossing the light yellow flower centers weren't as visible as I would have loved. So I put some Tacky-when-Dry medium onto these areas and pressed a leftover piece of golden foil onto it after the medium had dried. Now the flower centers match the hexagon frame.

I used thicker foam tape to glue the flowers onto the background, cut off the excess and used them to fill in two empty spots on my background, here putting the images directly onto the background and under the frame.

Ich wusste bereits beim Werkeln der Karte, dass sie für eine Freundin in den USA ist, die in den letzten Monaten eine schwere Zeit durchgemacht hat. Mit der Karte will ich sie ein wenig aufmuntern. 

Also habe ich mich für "sending you a smile to lift your day" als Text entschieden. Dabei habe ich das Wort Smile mit einer der Shadow Script #2 Stanzen von Sizzix - die Schattenlage habe ich hier weggelassen - aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt. Eigentlich viermal, denn ich habe die Teile wieder aufeinander und dann quer über dem Motiv auf die Karte geklebt. Für den Rest des Textes habe ich einen Stempel aus dem Set Be Happy Laugh Lines von ArtImpressions weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst, das smile herausgeschnitten und dann die Cardstockstreifen ober- und unterhalb des gestanzten Wortes aufgeklebt. 

Als Ersatz für den I-Punkt habe ich ein ebenfalls gestacktes Herz verwendet.

When I made this card I already knew that I wanted to send it to a friend in the US that went through a rough time the last months, so I want to lift her up a bit. A "sending you a smile to lift your day" sentiment was the perfect pick. 

I've die cut the word smile from black cardstock using one of the dies from the Shadow Script #2 die set by Sizzix - I left out the shadow here. Well, actually I've die cut it four times because I stacked the die cuts once again, then glued the word on top of my image across the card. For the rest of the text I used a stamp from the Be Happy Laugh Lines stamp set by ArtImpressions and white heat embossed it onto black cardstock. I've cut the smile out of the sentiment and glued the rest above and under the word smile onto my card.

I also decided to replace the dot on top of the i with a little heart, again 4 of them stacked on top of each other.

Als Deko habe ich dann noch ein paar goldene Perlenauf der Karte verteilt, alles schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. 

Ist der Glanz auf der Karte nicht einfach wunderbar?

As embellishments I've added a few golden pearls to the card, then matted the panel with black cardstock and glued it onto a white note card.

Diese Karte hat mich Nerven gekostet - aber was lange währt, wird endlich gut, sagt man ja. Und in diesem Fall stimmt es.

Hello everyone!

This card really took a long time and many attempts, that I was all unhappy with. But here we say "what takes a long time is getting good in the end". And in this case the saying is right.

Ich hatte mich auf Anhieb in das Chrsysanthemum Stempelset von PinkFresh verliebt - und es ist schon vor Monaten bei mir eingezogen. Ich hatte mich auch sofort an die Coloration der wunderschönen Blume gemacht - No-Line mit Polychromos auf Vellum. Bei der Größe des Motivs hat mich das zwei Tage gekostet, aber ich war so happy mit dem Ergebnis. Und dann wusste ich nicht, wie weiter. Ich habe viel ausprobiert, aber nichts hat mir gefallen. Entweder hat es das Motiv zu sehr abgetönt oder es war zu unruhig. Und so lag das colorierte Motiv einige Monate auf meinem Schreibtisch und hat mich vorwurfsvoll angeschaut. Jetzt aber war mir danach, es endlich in eine Karte zu verwandeln - und diesmal ging alles ganz einfach. Und so ist nun diese Karte entstanden.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich meinen einzigen Slimline-Embossingfolder verwendet: das Broken Web von WhimsyStamps. Merkt man gar nicht so sehr, dass es ein Spinnennetz ist, oder? Ich habe ein Stück hellgrauen Cardstock damit embosst, der zwischen meinen Cardstocks steckte - und zufälligerweise schon den nach innen gewellten Rand hatte. Den habe ich kurzerhand stehen lassen. Nach dem Embossen habe ich ein weißes Stempelkissen über die erhabenen Stellen gezogen, um sie etwas mehr herauszubringen, und dann einige Spritzer schwarze Farbe darüber verteilt. 

I fell in love immediately with the Chrysanthemum stamp set by PinkFresh - and bought it months ago. I even started coloring this beautiful image right away - no-line coloring with Polychromos on vellum. Since the image is that large it took me two days to finish. And I was so happy with how it turned out. And then I was at a loss. I tried a lot but nothing felt right. Either the image got toned down too much or the entire card was too busy. And so the colored image was laying on my desk for all those months, looking at me sadly all the time. And now, all of a sudden, I felt like finally turning it into a card - and this time it all came together so easily. So I ended up with this card.

For the background I used the only slimline embossing folder I have in my stash: the Broken Web by WhimsyStamps. I think you don't really see that it's a spider web in the background. I dry embossed a piece of light grey cardstock with it. I found the piece in my stash, already with the scalloped edge cut from it. I decided to keep those borders. After the dry embossing I used a white ink pad and dragged it over the raised areas to bring them out a bit more, then I spritzed some black color over the grey cardstock.

Hier bekommt Ihr einen besseren Eindruck von der Coloration. Die Farben kommen auf dem Vellum so wunderbar leuchtend heraus - ich werde das definitiv wieder machen! 

Auch den Hintergrund sieht man hier besser. Das Motiv brauchte für mein Dafürhalten ein klein wenig Struktur als Unterlage.

Über das Vellum mit dem fertig colorierten Motiv habe ich dann noch weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt.

Here you get a better look at the coloring. I love how the colors turned out so brilliant and vibrant on the vellum - and will definately do this again!

Also the background is better visible here. To me it just felt like the image needed some structure behind it.

Over the vellum with the finished coloring I spritzed some white acrylic paint.

Für den Text habe ich die Circled Greetings Hugs von Altenew viermal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, die Stanzteile aufeinander geklebt und dann den Kreis, der eigentlich um das Wort herum gestanzt wird, weggeschnitten. 

Für den Rest des Textes habe ich zwei Stempel aus dem Bountiful Bouquet Stempelset von Altenew mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und die Texte rund um das gestanzte Hugs aufgeklebt.

Als Deko habe ich noch einige irisierende weiße Perlen auf der Karte verteilt und anschließend alles auf eine weiße Slimline Karte geklebt.

For the text I've die cut the Circled Greetings Hugs by Altenew four times from white cardstock, stacked the die cuts and then cut off the circle that is originally cut around the word.

For the rest of the text I used two stamps from the Bountiful Bouquet stamp set by Altenew and white heat embossed them onto black cardstock, then placed them around the die cut word.

To embellish the card I added a few white iridescent pearls, then glued everything onto a white slimline card.
