Der Sommer ist nicht mehr weit - das wissen auch die kleinen Mäuse von LawnFawn. Also haben sie im Baumarkt alles gekauft, was sie brauchen und sich auf den Weg gemacht, um das Strandhaus rechtzeitig für die neue Strandsaison her zu richten.

Summer isn't far anymore - also the mice by LawnFawn know that. So they made a trip to the local hardware store and bought everything they need, to make their beach cottage all nice and shiny for the new beach season.

 

Ich habe hier einStück weißen Cardstocks für den Hintergrund benutzt. Der Himmel ist mit Distress Ink Tumbled Glass und Salty Ocean aufgewischt, das türkisfarbene Meer habe ich dann mit Copics aufgemalt. 

Mit dem Tropical Backdrop und Partial Diecutting habe ich dann die Palmen samt Sandboden aus gelb-braunem Cardstock gestanzt - einmal die rechte Palme samt Boden, einmal die beiden linken samt Boden. Den Rahmen habe ich dann jeweils einfach weggeschnitten.  Aber auf diese Weise konnte ich die Sandlagen höher machen.

Die extra Teile für die Palmen habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert.

 

I used a piece of white cardstock for my background. The sky I inked  with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and Salty  Ocean, the light turquoise sea I did with my Copics.

Using the Tropical Backdrop I created the palm trees including the sand layers from yellow-ish brown cardstock, doing some partial die cutting. I did the palm tree on the right including the beach and then the palm trees  on the left including the sand. Then I cut off the frame parts. This way I was able to make the sand layers larger.

I cut the extra parts for the palm trees from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.

 

 In der Mitte der Szene steht natürlich das Strandhaus. Die Mäuse sind mit ihrer Renovierung schon ein ganzes Stück weit gekommen, ein wenig Arbeit steht ihnen aber noch bevor.

Das Haus ist mit den Stanzensets Build-a-House und dem Build-a-House Beach Add-On Set gemacht. Alle Teile habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. 

Aus dem Add-On Set sind auch die kleinen Sandhügel, die ich überall auf der Karte verteilt habe. Die Sandlagen habe ich mit Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap und Scorched Timber schattiert, anschließend habe ich etwas mit Wasser verdünntes Scorched Timber und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

In the center of my scene there's the beach house. The mouse have already come pretty far with their renoviations, but there's still some work left to do.

The house is made using the Build-a-House and the Build-a-House Beach Add-On sets. I cut them from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.

From the Add-On set are also the little sandy hills, that I added to the card. I shaded all the sand layers with Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap and Scorched Timber, then splattered some watered down Scorched Timber and also white acrylic paint onto them.

 

 Und hier seht Ihr die fleißigen Mäuse bei der Arbeit. Ich  hatte ja schon erwähnt, dass ich einige Mini-Stanzensets von Gummiapan erstanden habe, darunter auch die kleinen Werkzeuge. Und so halten die Mäuse hier Pinsel, Hammer oder Säge.

Da so richtige Handwerker-Mäuse natürlich eine Blaumann tragen müssen, habe ich Mäuse mit Latzhosen aus den Sets Apple-Solutely Awesome, Berry Sweet, Veggie Happy und You Crow Girl benutzt. Und oben auf dem Dach des Hauses sitzt noch die kleine Maus aus Hay There Hayrides Mice Add-On. 

Den Rechen der Maus aus Veggie Happy habe ich weggeschnitten und die sichtbaren Teile auf dem Motiv dann mit der Säge überklebt.  Die Schubkarre ist aus Veggie Happy. Für die Holzbretter habe ich die Bretter zum Vernageln der Fenster aus dem Build-a-House Halloween Add-On Set benutzt und teilweise in Stücke geschnitten.

Und die beiden Mäuse mit den Pinseln mussten einfach Papierhüte kriegen. Da ich hier keinen Stempel hatte, habe ich die einfach frei hand gezeichnet. Naja, gebracht haben sie den beiden Mäuse nicht sonderlich viel... Sie sind trotzdem ganz schön verkleckst. Die Farbeimer sind aus den Sets Eggstraordinary Easter und Easter Before'n After. 

An einigen Stellen habe ich noch Grasbüschel aus den Build-a-House Beach Add-On und dem Tropical Backdrop Stanzensets  hinter die Sandhügel gesteckt.

 

And here you can see the busy little mice at work. I had already mentioned that I bought some mini die sets by Gummiapan, and some tiny work tools was one of them. And so the mice are holding paint brushes, hammers and a saw.

I wanted my mice to look like handyman, that know what they are doing, and of course they have to wear their blue work gear (most of the work trousers here in Germany are typically blue). So I looked for mice wearing trousers, finding them in the sets Apple-Solutely Awesome, Berry Sweet, Veggie Happy and You Crow Girl. And on top of the roof there's the little mouse from Hay There Hayrides Mice Add-On.

The rake the mouse from Veggie Happy is holding I simply cut off and covered the still visible parts on the image with the saw. The wheelbarrow is from Veggie Happy. For the wood planks I used the ones from Build-a-House Halloween Add-On, that usually are used to nail up the windows. I cut some into pieces and re-arranged them to fit my scene.

And the little mice with the paint brushes just had to wear paper hats. Since I didn't have a stamp here I simply drew them myself. Well, seems like they didn't help much, the mice still got a lot of color on themselves. The paint cans are from Eggstraordinary Easter and Easter Before'n After..

 I put some grass behind some of the sandy hillls, made with dies from Build-a-House Beach Add-On and Tropical Backdrop.

 

 Hier seht Ihr die mutige kleine Maus, die das Loch im Dach repariert...

Hier oben auf der Karte habe ich dann auch meinen Text angebracht. Er ist ein Mix aus them thanks aus Apple-Solutely Awesome und Teil eines Stempels aus Greetings and Saltutations von MFT darunter. Beide Teile sind weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Daneben war noch Platz für ein kleines weißes Herz,

In the top right corner there was room for the saying of my card.  It's a mix of the thanks from Apple-Solutely Awesome and part of a text from Greetings and Salutations by MFT under it. I white heat embossed both onto black cardstock. There was also room for a small white clay heart.

 

 Beim Zusammensetzen der Szene kam dann wieder 3D Tape zum Einsatz - insgesamt hat sie vier Lagen, die jeweils mit dünnem 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt sind.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt.

 

To put the scene together I used foam tape again - I created four layers in total, that are all put together with thin foam tape.

Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Heute zeige ich Euch meine Karte für die letzte Coloring Club Challenge - und diesmal, glaube ich, habe ich das Thema verfehlt. Es lautet "flower power" - und ich hatte sofort die 70er im Kopf. Als ich dann die Karte zusammengeklebt habe, kam mir, dass damit ja vielleicht eher Blumen und Co gemeint sind.... Na, mal sehen, ob ich die einzige bin, die so gedacht hat. ;)

Today I am sharing with you my card for the last Coloring Club Challenge - and I'm afraid that I really messed this one up. The theme is "flower power" and I had the 70ies in mind immediately. When I put my card together I got the idea, that the theme might be more related to flowers and plants... Well, we'll see if I'm the only one thinking like that. ;)

 

Wie gesagt, ich hatte die 70er im Kopf - und was passt da mehr als eine Disco-Karte? 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück helltürkisen Cardstocks, den ich etwas mit Distress Ink Peacock Feathers gewischt habe. 

Unten habe ich dann zwei bzw. drei Lagen Hochhäuser geklebt, die mit der Slimline Cityscapes Stanze von WhimsyStamps und schwarzem Cardstock gemacht sind. Mit einem weißen Gelstift habe ich Highlights auf die einzelnen Lagen gemalt, damit sich die Häuser etwas voneinander abheben. Aber da die Häuser nur den Hintergrund auffüllen sollten, habe ich darauf nicht allzu viel Augenmerk gelegt.

Obenauf kam dann das nach innen gebogene Rechteck aus dem Retro Mod Stanzenset gesetzt. Das habe ich aus dunkel-türkis farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und von unten mit Distress Ink Black Soot gewischt. Das Rechteck  habe ich dann etwas schräg auf den Hintergrund geklebt und passend zugeschnitten. 

 

Like I said, I had the 70ies in mind - and what goes better with it than a disco themed card?

The background is made from a piece of light turquoise cardstock, that I inked with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers.

Onto the bottom I adhered two/three layers of skyscrapers, that I die cut from black cardstock using the Slimline Cityscapes die. I added highlights with a white gel pen, just to have a bit of a contrast between the houses. But since those houses are only meant to fill the background I didn't care about them too much. 

On top I adhered the inwardly curved rectangle from the Retro Mod die set. I die cut it from dark turquoise cardstock and inked the bottom with Black Soot. Then I adhered it to the background a bit slanted and cut the overlapping edges off.

 

 Hauptmotiv auf meiner Karte ist der Disco Dude Dudley. Den finde ich absolute klasse - und nachdem gerade so einige in den79ern geborene Freunde runde Geburtstage feiern, kommt der bestimmt noch öfter zum Einsatz! 

Ich habe ihn mit Copics coloriert. Das Hemd musste einfach orangefarben werden. Und den Anzug habe ich, ganz passend zum Jahrzehnt, mit einem Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen beglittert, auf den Brillengläsern befindet sich Glossy Accents.

Im Stempelset ist auch eine passende Outline-Stanze enthalten, um das Motiv auszuschneiden. Ich bin aber das Ausschneiden mit der Schere so gewohnt, dass mir die Stanze erst einfiel, als ich bereits mit dem Ausschneiden angefangen hatte. Da war es dann zu spät.... 

Auch der Text ist aus dem Disco Dude Dudley Stempelset. Ich habe ihn mit schwarzer Tinte auf orangefarbenen Cardstock gestempelt und Highlights mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt.

Und damit man auch sieht, dass Dudley definitiv einen coolen Hüftschwung hat, habe ich noch einige Bewegungs-Linien aufgeklebt. Die sind mit der Comic Burst A2 Stanze aus orangefarbenem Cardstock gemacht.

 

Main image on my card is Disco Dude Dudley. I just love him - and since quite a few friends born in the 70ies are celebrating a milestone birthday I for sure will use him more often!

I colored Dudley with Copics - the shirt just had to be orange. And to make the white suit look like one from the 70ies I used a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to add glitter to it. Onto the glasses I put a layer of Glossy Accents.

There comes a matching outline die with the stamp but I am so used to fussy cutting out my images that I didn't think of that die after I had already started cutting it out with my scissors. And then it was too late to use it...

The text also comes in the Disco Dude Dudley set. I stamped it with black ink onto orange cardstock and added highlights with a white gel pen.

And to show, that Dudley is really dancing the night away, I added some "movement lines" around him. For those I used the Comic Burst A2 die set and cut them from orange cardstock as well.

 

 Und was darf in einer Disco aus den 79ern natürlich nicht fehlen? Disco-Kugeln! 

In der Mitte habe ich eine Kugel mit dem Text "Good Vibes" aufgehängt. Dafür gibt es natürlich wieder eine passende Stanze. Ich habe die Kugel aus hell-türkis farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Peacock Feathers rundum etwas schattiert. Dann habe ich die Kugel mit orangefarbenem Cardstock, den ich mit ein wenig Crackling Campfire schattiert habe, hinterlegt und dann alles mit einem Kreis aus schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt. Außerdem habe ich Highlights mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt.

Die beiden glitzerenden Disco-Kugeln daneben sind ganz einfach aus einem Kreis, gestanzt aus weißem Cardstock, gemacht, den ich dann mit Copics coloriert habe. Das mag kompliziert aussehen, aber eigentlich habe ich die Kreise nur mit Punkten gefüllt und dabei die Punkte in gebogenen Linien aufgetragen, so dass die Kugel schön dreidimensional aussieht.

Auf die Kugeln habe ich dann noch kleine Glitzerpunkte aus weißem Cardstock, gemacht mit einer Stanze aus dem Retro Mod Set, geklebt und hinter die mittlere Kugel außerdem zwei "Sterne" aus dem Good Vibes Set aufgeklebt. Außerdem habe ich jeweils ein Stück weißes Twine an der Rückseite der Kugeln befestigt. 

Nach dem Aufkleben der Kugeln habe ich von den Kugeln noch Strahlen weggehen lassen. Zuerst habe ich orangefarbene Kreide aufgewischt, dann einen weißen Gelstift benutzt und die Lichtstrahlen/-reflektionen hinzugefügt. Dafür habe ich Linien mit dem Gelstift gezeichnet und sie dann mit dem Finger verwischt. 

And what besides music is a key element in a disco of the 70ies? Disco balls!

In the center I placed a ball with a "good vibes" text. Of course there's a die for that. I cut the ball from light turquoise cardstock and inked it all around with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers. Then I backed it with a piece of orange cardstock, that I have inked with Crackling Campfire. Behind those two layers I put black cardstock, then added highlights with a white gel pen.

The two glittery disco balls are simply made from circles cut from white cardstock that I colored with Copics. It might look complicated but I simply covered the circles with dots, putting them down in a curvy line to give the balls some dimension.

I glued little stars from white cardstock, made with another die from the Retro Mod set, onto the balls and behind the center one I put two large stars from the Good Vibes set. I also glued a piece of white twine behind each ball.

After adhering the balls to the background I added some rays. First I used some orange chalk, then a white gel pen. I drew some lines with the gel pen, then softened them with my finger.

 

 Die Disko-Kugeln habe ich mit dünnem, den Textstreifen und Dudley mit dickem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Die Twine-Stücke habe ich auf der Rückseite des Hintergrunds befestigt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I backed the disco balls with thin, the text strip and Dudley with thick foam tape. The ends of the pieces of twine I taped to the back of the background, then glued the card panel to a white note card.

Gerade noch auf den letzten Drücker zeige ich Euch meine Karte für die Share Handmade Kindness Challenge im April. Nicht, weil ich nicht dazu gekommen bin, die Karte zu machen, sondern weil ich sie einfach nicht mehr auf meinem Blog untergebracht habe!

Thema sind diesmal (Layering) Stencils und Möglichkeiten, sie etwas abzuwandeln oder anders als gedacht einzusetzen.

Just last minute I am sharing with you my card for the Share Handmade Kindness challenge for the month of april. Not because I didn't have time to make the card, I simply didn't have a free day on my blog to share it with you earlier!

Theme of this month are (layering) stencils and ways, to change their look or use them differently as usual.

 

Im Video werden so viele tolle Ideen gezeigt und es war wirklich schwer, mich für eine Variante zu entscheiden. Dann aber habe ich meinen Stencil mit einem Embossingfolder  kombiniert. Zum Einsatz kam dabei ein 3D Embossingfolder von Nellie Snellen. 

Ich habe damit ein Stück hellblauen Cardstocks embosst und dann mit einem Brayer Distress Ink Salvaged Patina auf die erhabenen Stellen aufgetragen. Anschließend habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt und den Cardstock schwarz gemattet. 

 

There are so many great ideas shown in this video that I had a hard time to pick one. But then I combined my stencil with an embossing folder. This is a 3D embossing folder by Nellie Snellen.

I dry embossed a piece of light blue cardstock with the folder, then used a brayer to apply some Distress Ink Salvaged Patina onto the raised areas. I added splatters of white acrylic paint and then matted the cardstock piece black.

 

 Für mein Motiv kamen das Set Gracious Peonies von Altenew zum Einsatz, und zwar das Stempelset, die Layering Stencils und die Outline Stanze. 

Zuerst habe ich das Motiv auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und dann mit der dazugehörigen Stanze ausgestanzt. Dann habe ich das Motiv mit dem selben Embossingfolder, den ich bereits für den blauen Hintergrund benutzt hatte, embosst. 

Mit den Layering Stencils habe ich dann die Blüten und Blätter eingefärbt. Dabei kam nur Distress Ink Tattered Rose und Vicotrian Velvet für die Blüten und Bundled Sage und Peeled Paint für die Blätter zum Einsatz. Durch das Embossen ist der Cardstock etwas "verzogen" und die Stencils passen nicht mehr 100 Prozent zu den Stempellinien, aber das macht gar nichts. Ich hatte zuerst versucht, ohne die gestempelten Linien zu arbeiten, aber da war das Motiv so zart, dass man es nur schwer erkennen konnte. Also habe ich - mit dem gestempelten Motiv - nochmal von vorne begonnen.

Um das embosste Muster etwas mehr hervorzuheben, habe  ich dann ein weißes Pigment-Stempelkissen auf das Motiv gedrückt, ganz sanft natürlich.

Der Text ist ebenfalls aus dem Gracious Peonies Stempelset und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich ihn mit der Schere ausgeschnitten.

 

For my image I used the Gracious Peonies by Altenew - the stamp set, the layering stencils and the outline die.

First I stamped the image onto white cadstock and cut it out with the matching outline die. Then I used the same embossing folder that I had already used for the blue background to dry emboss the cut out image.

I brought in the matching layering stencils to color the flowers and leaves. I only used Distress Ink Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet for the flowers and Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint for the leaves. The dry embossing "shrunk" the cardstock a bit and so the stencils didn't match the stamped lines anymore perfectly, but I don't think it matters here. I had tried to do the technique with the same image but without the stamped lines, but the image was so soft that it was really hard to see it. So I started all over, this time with the stamped image.

To bring out the embossed pattern a bit more I dabbed a white pigment ink pad onto the image, of course without much pressure. 

The text is also from the Gracious Peonies stamp set and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. Then I cut it out with my scissors.

 

 Ich habe das Motiv mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den blauen Hintergrund geklebt und dabei über die Ränder des blauen Cardstocks überstehen lassen. Der Text ist mit dickem 3D Tape befestigt. Das habe ich auch verwendet, um den blauen Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling zu kleben. Anschließend habe ich nur an der linken Kante der Karte die überstehenen Teile des Motivs bündig mit der Kartenbasis abgeschnitten.

Zum Schluss habe ic noch einige weiß-irisierende Perlen als Deko aufgeklebt.

 

I adhered the image to the blue cardstock using thin foam tape, letting the image hang over the edges of the blue cardstock. The text I attached with thick foam tape and I used that also to glue the blue cardstock to a white card base. Then I cut off the overhanging part of the image only along the left edge of the card base.

As a finishing step I added some white iridescent pearls as decoration.

Das Thema der LawnFawnatics Challenge #195 ist eine Bingo-Chart. Und die zeige ich Euch gleich mal.

Theme of the LawnFawnatics challenge #195 is a Bingo chart. And I am sharing it with you:

 

Im ersten Moment war ich etwas überfordert - fünf Vorgaben sind ja dann doch eine Menge zu kombinieren. Letztendlich habe ich mich aber für die oberste Reihe, also "interaktiv, Geburtstag, Regenbogen, Happy und Glitter" entschieden. 

 

I was a bit overwhelmed by it at first - to include five things on a card felt like a lot. But then I had an idea and went with the top horizontal row, so "interactive, birthday, rainbow, happy and glitter". 

 

 Und das ist die Karte, die mit den Vorgaben entstanden ist. Ich habe sie alle ziemlich wörtlich genommen, es gibt bestimmt viel subtilere Möglichkeiten, die verschiedenen Elemente zu benutzen.

Hier befindet sich im Hintergrund ein Stück hellblaues Designpapier mit blauen Punkten aus dem Paper Pad Stripes and Sprinkles.

Darauf habe ich dann meinen mit der neuen Pull 'n Slide Stanze gemachten Kartenaufleger geklebt.

Den Mechanismus für die Karte habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Salvaged Patina und Mermaid Lagoon gewischt. Dann habe ich etwas Wasser aufgespritzt. 

 

And this is the card that I made using the elements from that first row. I took all of them quite literally, I am sure there are more subtle ways to include them. 

Here I put a piece of light blue patterned paper with blue dots from the Stripes and Sprinkles paper pad in the background.

On top I put the interactive card panel, made with the new Pull 'n Slide die. 

I cut the mechanism for the card from white cardstock and inked it with Distress Ink Salvaged Patina and Mermaid Lagoon. Then I added fine droplets of water.

 

 Den Regenbogen im Hintergrund habe ich mit der Draped Ribbons Stencil gemacht. Ich habe einfach die Ränder der einzelnen Streifen mit einem Bleistift auf weißen Cardstock übertragen, die Teile ausgeschnitten und mit Distress Inks eingefärbt. Deswegen sind die Streifen auch nicht gleich breit, aber das fällt mit der Deko darauf gar nicht auf, finde ich. Zum Einfärben habe ich Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn und Prize Ribbon benutzt und die Farbe nach oben hin jeweils heller werden lassen. Dann habe ich die Streifen einfach wieder aneinander geklebt.

Die Blumen auf dem Regenbogen sind mit der Sunny Sunflower Stanze gemacht. Ich habe die Blüten statt aus gelbem aus Cardstock in einem hellen Orange gestanzt, auch die übrigen Teile sind aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt. Dann habe ich alles mit Copics schattiert.

Auf den Sonnenblumen fliegen vier kleine Bienen aus You're a Keeper und zwei von ihnen halten eine Partygirlande. Die ist ein Teil einer der Bunting Borders, gestanzt aus weißem Cardstock, mit Salvaged Patina und Mermaid Lagoon gewischt und die Schnur mit einem schwarzen Copic eingefärbt.

 

The rainbow in the background I made using the Draped Ribbons stencil. I simply used a pencil to copy the stripes onto white cardstock, then cut them out and inked them with Distress Inks. That's also why they aren't all the same width, but with the decoration on top I don't think that matters. I used Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn and Prize Ribbon to ink the stripes, making them lighter towards the top. Then I simply glued them back together.

The flowers on the rainbow are made with the Sunny Sunflower dies. Instead of yellow cardstock I used a light orange for my flowers, also the other pieces are cut from colored cardstock, then I shaded them with Copics.  

On the sunflower there are four little bees from You're a Keeper, two of them are holding a party banner. That is part of one of the Bunting Borders dies, cut from white cardstock, inked with Salvaged Patina and Mermaid Lagoon. The top I colored with a black Copic.

 

 Unten, vor den Blumen, befindet sich ein Holzstamm mit lauter kleinen Tieren. 

Hier habe ich einen der neuen Simply Celebrate Hangouts benutzt und mit der passenden Coloring Stencil und Distress Ink Ground Espresso gewischt. Dann habe ich mit Copics noch einige Details hinzugefügt. 

Die Tiere, die so fröhlich über das Holz schauen, sind aus Simply Celebrate More Critters.

Der Wurm, die Assel und auch die Erdhaufen sind aus A Bug Deal.

Ich habe für den unteren Teil der Karte ein Stück grünen Cardstocks mit einer Gras-Bordüren Stanze ausgestanzt, den Cardstock leicht mit Mowed Lawn gewischt und darauf dann meinen Text aufgebracht. Der ist aus Stempeln aus You're a Keeper und Offset Sayings Birthday zusammengesetzt und weiß embosst. Rund um den Text habe ich dann noch einige kleine Blumen aus Butterfly Kisses verteilt.

 

At the bottom of the card, in front of the flowers, there's a tree log with lots of little animals.

Here I used one of the new Simply Celebrate Hangouts and colored it using the matching coloring stencil. Then I added some details with my Copics.

The critters, that are looking so happily over the log, are from Simply Celebrate More Critters.

The worm, the woodlouse and the piles of dirt are  from A Bug Deal.

For the bottom piece I cut the top of a piece of green cardstock with a grass border die, lightly inked the cardstock with Mowed Lawn and stamped my text onto it. It's made combining dies from You're a Keeper and Offset Sayings Birthday and white heat embossed onto the cardstock. Then I added some flowers from Butterfly Kisses.

 

 Zieht man am Tab am oberen Ende der Karte, stellt sich ein Teil der Kate auf und gibt die Sicht auf eine weitere Lage bzw. die Designpapier-Lage im Hintegrund frei. Hier habe ich einen weiteren Text, ebenfalls aus A Bug Deal, aufgestempelt. 

Den Tab am oberen Ende der Karte habe ich etwas verlängert, so dass er auch hinter dem Regenbogen noch gut zu ziehen ist. 

When you pull the tab at the top of the card a part of the decoration slides up and stays standing up, giving free sight to another layer/the patterned paper from the background. I stamped another saying, again from A Bug Deal, into the window.

The tab at the top of the card I made a bit longer to make it easily to reach, even with the rainbow on top.

 

 Die Vorgaben "interaktiv, Regenbogen, happy und birthday" hatte ich damit ja schon erfüllt, fehlte noch der Glitzer. Ich habe die Flügel der Bienen mit Stickles beglittert und zudem einige Glitzersteine auf dem aufrecht stehenden Kartenelement mit dem Regenbogen verteilt.

 

I had already included the elements "interactive, rainbow, happy and birthday", glitter was the one that was still missing. I put Stickles onto the bees' wings and scattered a few rhinestones onto the standing up card panel with the rainbow.

Heute zeige ich Euch meine Karte zum "Things with Wings"  Thema der Coloring Club Challenge. Eigentlich hatte ich eine andere Karte gemacht, mich dann aber umentschieden. Und das nicht, weil mir die andere nicht gefallen hat oder so - ich bekomme sie einfach nicht wirklich toll fotografiert! Egal was ich versuche, es klappt nicht. Also zeige ich Euch die wann anders und heute gibt es die kleinen Bienen. Auf jeden Fall passen sie zum Thema!

Today I am sharing with you my card for the Coloring Club Challenge with the theme of "things with wings". I originally had made a different card but then changed my mind. Not, because I didn't like the other one - I just can't get a good picture of it! No matter, what I try, it looks so different from what it is in real life. So I am sharing that on another day  and today I have those little bees for you. At least they go wonderfully with the theme.

 

Die Karte hier besteht aus einem Stück hellblauen Cardstocks, den ich leicht mit Distress Ink Salty Ocean gewischt habe.

Dahinter befindet sich ein Stück gelben Cardstocks, aus dem ich mit der Save the Bees  Stanze von ModaScrap Bienenwaben ausgestanzt habe. Außerdem habe ich den Cardstock leicht mit Vintage Photo gewischt.

Und dahinter sitzt dann ein Stück hell-orange farbenen Cardstocks, den ich ein wenig mit Wild Honey gewischt habe.

Um alles herum habe ich "Honig" geklebt. Daür habe ich den Drippy Frame von WhimsyStamps aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics honigfarben coloriert. Dann habe ich zwei Lagen UTEE - extra dickes, klares Embossingpulver - darüber gesetzt. Vor dem Aufkleben auf den blauen Cardstock, habe ich daraus mit der Schere ein Fenster, passend zum Ausschnitt im Honig geschnitten. Das UTEE hat den colorierten Cardstock leicht transparent gemacht - das habe ich aber erst bemerkt, als ich den Rahmen aufgeklebt habe. Das Blau scheint leicht durch den Honig hindurch und er wirkt nun etwas bräunlich. Dafür glänzt er schön - man kann wohl nicht alles haben.

 

The card is made from a piece of light blue cardstock, that I inked lightly with Distress Ink Salty Ocean.

Behind it there's a piece of yellow cardstock, that I die cut some honeycomb from using the Save the Bees die by ModaScrap. I also inked the cardstock with a bit of Vintage Photo.

And behind that there's a piece of light orange cardstock, that I shaded with Wild Honey.

And then I added a honey frame. I die cut the Drippy Frame by WhimsyStamps from white cardstock and colored it a honey color with my Copics. Then I covered it with two layers of UTEE - ultra thick embossing enmal. Before I adhered the frame, I used my scissors to cut a window the shape of the inner frame into the blue cardstock. The UTEE made the colored cardstock slightly translucent, but I only realized that after I had glued it onto the blue cardstock. The blue is shining through the honey and makes it appear a bit brownish, but therefore it's wonderfully shiny. Seems like you can't have everything here.

 

 Die Motive hier sind alle aus dem Set Sweet Bee von Impronte d'Autore. Ich glaube, um dieses Set schleiche ich seit drei Jahren rum. Auf der Stempelmesse Süd hatte ich es wieder in der Hand, und diesmal habe ich es dann gekauft. 

Ich habe die Bienen und auch den Bienenkorb im Hintergrund mit Copics coloriert und die feinen Härchen mit Polychromos dazugemalt, damit die Bienen schön weich und flauschig aussehen.

Da mit schwarz als Outlines zu dunkel schien, habe ich die Bienen mit brauner, die Flügel und die Blütenblätter der Blume mit hellblauer Tinte gestempelt. Ausgeschnitten habe ich die Motive per Hand. 

Die Texte sind ebenfalls aus diesem Stempelset. Ich habe sie weiß auf braunen Cardstock embosst und ausgeschnitten. Die Linien am Anfang und Ende des Worts "bee" habe ich etwas gekürzt, so dass das Wort neben die obere Biene passt, ohne sie zu verdecken.

 

The images here are all from Sweet Bee by Impronte d'Autore. I think, I have been eyeing with this set since three years, but never bought it. When I visited a stamp fair recently I had it in my hands again and this time I bought it.

I colored the bees and also the bee hive in the background with Copics and added the little hairs with Polychromos to make the bees look soft and fluffy. 

Since black outlines seemed too hard here I used brown ink for the bees and did the flower petals and bees' wings with light blue ink. To cut the images out I used my scissors.

The texts are also from this stamp set. I white heat embossed them onto brown cardstock and cut them out. I made the lines at the beginning and end of the word "bee" shorter so the word fits next to the upper bee without overlapping it.

 

 Zwischen den verschiedenen Lagen im Hintegrund befindet sich dünnes 3D Tape, die Biene auf der Blume und den Text daneben habe ich mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. 

Als Deko habe ich noch ein paar weiße Herzen aufgeklebt und dann alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

 

Between the different layers in the background I put thin foam tape, the bee on the flower and the text next to it I backed with thick foam tape.

I added some white clay hearts as decoration and then adhered the card panel to a white card base.

 

Another Lazy People Shaker

WhimsyStamps hat mich gefragt, ob ich nicht eine meiner elektrischen Shaker Cards "für Faule" mit ihrer Lava-Lampen-Stanze machen  möchte. Die Idee fand ich total spannend und habe natürlich zugesagt. Und hier ist sie nun.

I was contacted by WhimsyStamps and they asked, if I wanted to make one of the mechanical shaker cards "for lazy people" with their Lava Lamp die. I really liked the idea of trying this technique with such a large die and of course I agreed. And here it is.

 

Die Lava-Lampen Stanze ist wirklich groß und vom Format eher auf eine Slimline Card ausgelegt, aber die mache ich ja auch recht gerne. Aber durch die Größe hat man viel Platz für Dekorationen, ohne zu viel von der Lampe zu verdecken, und Möglichkeiten, die Coloration schön detailiert zu gestalten.  

Den Hintergrund habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gemacht, den ich mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Salty Ocean, Uncharted Mariner und ein wenig Black Soot gewischt habe. Dann habe ich Wassertropfen darauf gespritzt und - später - auch noch silberne Metallic Watercolor.

 

The Lava Lamp die is really large and made more for a slimline sized card, but I like to make those, too. And due to the size there's lots of room for decoration without having to  cover too much of the lamp and you can also  do wonderfully detailed coloring.

The background I made from white cardstock that I inked with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Salty Ocean, Uncharted Mariner and a bit of Black Soot. Then I put some water droplets on top and - later - also splatters of silver metallic watercolor.

 

 

Auch wenn ich jetzt mein Alter oute - ich hatte selbst so eine Lampe in meinem Jugendzimmer. Irgendwie schienen die entweder lila und rot, orange und gelb oder blau und grün zu sein. Inzwischen gibt es da sehr viel mehr Farbvarianten, aber ich habe mich an das klassische Design gehalten und mich für eine blau-grüne Lampe entschieden. Und war es nicht immer wunderbar beruhigend, den langsam aufsteigenden und herabfallenden Schleimstücken zuzusehen? 

Das Lava-Lampen-Set besteht aus mehreren Stanzen: einer kompletten für die Außenlinien, einer etwas kleineren, die gleichzeitig Unter-, Mittel- und Oberteil der Lampe an sich stanzt und dann noch zwei weitere Stanzen, mit denen die "Lava", also der Schleim im Inneren der Lampe, gestanzt wird. Den kann man dann ganz nach Geschmack in der Lampe anordnen.

Ich habe alle Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Das Mitteilteil der Lampe habe ich dann mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean und Prize Ribbon gewischt, oben blau und unten türkis. Die übrigen Teile habe ich mit Copics coloriert. 

Die zweitgrößte Stanze im Set habe ich aus dem Hintergrund gestanzt und dann nochmal die größte Stanze samt eingelegter zweitgrößter aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, um einen dünnen schwarzen Rahmen zu erhalten. Den Rahmen habe ich um den Ausschnitt im Hintergrund geklebt und dort dann das Ober- und Unterteil eingesetzt. Dafür habe ich hinter den Hintergrund jeweils einen Streifen dünnen Cardstocks gesetzt, damit die Teile auch halten und ich nur in der Mitte ein Fenster für das Mitteilteil habe. Aus dem besteht dann der Shaker.

Aus dem mit Distress Oxides gewischten Mitteilteil, dickem dunkelblauem Moosgummi (das fällt nicht so auf wie weißes 3D Tape, wenn der Shaker sich bewegt und die Ränder des Shakers zu sehen sind) und etwas Acetate habe ich dann das Shaker-Element gebaut. 

Ich habe die grün colorierten Schleimstücke auf den Hintergrund geklebt und den Shaker mit kleinen Kügelchen in unterschiedlichen Grüntönen gefüllt. 

Die Technik für den elektrischen Shaker habe ich dann direkt auf einem weißen Slimline-Kartenrohling gebaut und den Hintergrund mit 3 Lagen 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

Und hier ist er dann endlich in Action:

 

I know I am going to reveal my age now - but I had one of those lava lamps in my teenager room myself. They either seem to have been purple and red, orange and yellow or blue and green. Now there are a lot more color varations but I stuck  to the traditional colors and went with green and blue. Wasn't it always the most relaxing thing to watch those slime pieces rise and fall down slowly?

The Lava Lamp set contains several pieces: a large die to cut the outline, a slightly smaller one that creates the base, center and top of the lamp and then two more dies to cut the "lava" - or slime, that goes inside the lamp. It can be arranged however you like it best.

I die cut all pieces from white cardstock. The center of the lamp I inked with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon, blue at the top and aqua at the bottom. The other pieces I colored with Copics.

I die cut the second largest die from the set from the background and then put this die inside the largest one and ran both through my Big Shot at the same time, cutting the thin frame from black cardstock. I glued the frame around the cut out in the background and then paper pieced the top and bottom of the lamp into the frame. I used two pieces of thin cardstock behind the lamp to have somewhere to glue the bottom and top to, only leaving the window in the center of the lamp. This is where I put my shaker behind.

I created my shaker element from the center piece inked with Distress Oxides, some thick blue fun foam (whenthe shaker moves and the edges show, this blue fun foam isn't as noticable as white foam tape) and some acetate. 

I glued the  green colored pieces of slime onto the background and filled the shaker with tiny beads in different shades of green. 

I created the technique for the mechanical shaker directly on the front of a white slimline card base and glued the background on top using three layers of foam tape.

And finally here's the shaker in action:

 

Der Sound, den der Vibration Button macht, passt zu der Lampe jetzt nicht so toll wie zu meiner Blender-Karte, aber er lässt sich eben nicht abschalten...

 

The sound the vibration button makes doesn't fit the lamp as well as it does to the blender card I made, but well, you can't turn that off...

 

 Nun brauchte die Karte noch einen Text und etwas Deko. 

Für den Text habe ich die Good Vibes Stanze benutzt und sie jeweils einnmal aus schwarzem und einmal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Nur die Buchstaben habe ich dann mit den selben Grüntönen coloriert, die ich auch für die Lava benutzt habe, und die schwarzen Buchstaben als Schatten leicht versetzt dahinter geklebt.  Das "good" habe ich oben, das "vibes" unten auf die Karte geklebt. Ich finde, der Text ist nicht nur für die Zeit, zu der die Lava-Lampen in waren, sondern ist gleichzeitig noch eine Anspielung auf den vibrierenden Shaker...

 

Now my card needed a text and some decoration.

For the text I used the Good Vibes die and cut it from both black and white cardstock. I used only the letters, colored the white ones with the same green markers, that I had used for the lava and glued the black ones behind the colored ones a bit offset to create a shadow effect. I adhered the "good" to the top, the "vibes" to the bottom of the lamp. I think, the text goes not only great with the time when these lamps were popular but is also a great pun related to the vibrating shaker...

 

 

Schräg über die Karte habe ich einige Streifen Cardstocks in hellgrün, hell- und dunkeltürkis geklebt. Außerdem habe ich mit einer weiteren Stanze aus dem Good Vibes Set kleine Reflektions-Sterne aus silber-holographischem Cardstock gestanzt und auf der Karte verteilt.

 

I glued a few strips of light green, light and dark aqua across the card. Then I used another die from the Good Vibes set to cut little stars/reflections from silver holographic cardstock and scattered those over the card.

 

Ein Kinogutschein

Heute habe ich mal eine Karte mit in das Design integriertem Kinogutschein. Warum muss der immer irgendwo im Inneren stecken, oder?

Today  have a car with a voucher for movie theater tickets included in the card design. No one says, that they always have to be somewhere inside the card, right?

 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich einen Prägefolder von Darice benutzt, mit dem ich weißen Cardstock geprägt habe. Außerdem habe ich in weißen und schwarzen Cardstock jeweils nur den unterenTeil geprägt. Und dann habe ich die BlackOut Technik benutzt. Nun will ich ehrlich sein, ich mache das nicht oft oder gern. Ich bin wohl etwas ungestüm oder es fehlt mir einfach das Feingefühl, aber ich bekomme immer Tinte auf die Teile, die eigentlich keine abbekommen sollten. So auch hier, Ihr habt es bestimmt gesehen. Zu diesem doch etwas vintage anmutenden Design finde ich es aber ganz passend. Ich habe die embossten weißen Cardstockstücke jeweils mit schwarzer Tinte gewischt und dabei die erhabenen Teile eingefärbt, bei dem schwarzen Cardstock habe ich weiße Pigmenttinte benutzt. 

Auf den großen Bereich hinter dem geschwungenen Filmstreifen habe ich mit einem Strahlenstencil und Distress Ink Lumberjack Plaid dann Strahlen auf den weißen Cardstock gewischt und silber-graue Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

 

For the background I used an embossing folder by Darice and dry embossed a piece of white cardstock with it. I also dry embossed some white and black cardstock, this time only doing the bottom part of the folder. And then I did the BlackOut technique. Well, to be honest, I don't do that very often and I also don't really like it. Most likely because I am either too aggressive or I am simply missing the softness needed for it - I always end up with ink and areas that shouldn't get any. And it happened here again, I am sure you already saw it. But I kind of like it with this vintage looking design of the folder.

I inked  the embossed white panels with black ink, coloring in the raised areas. The black cardstock I inked with white pigment ink. 

I used a rays stencil and Distress Ink Lumberjack Plaid to add the rays to the large area of the cardstock piece and splattered some silver-grey metallic watercolor onto it.

 

 Aus den beiden anderen geprägten Teilen habe ich dann den geschwungenen Filmstreifen bzw. die beiden Tickets ausgeschnitten - einfach mit der Schere und ein klein wenig Abstand zum mit Tinte eingefärbten Bereich. Bei den Tickets habe ich außerdem den inneren Rahmen mit einem roten Copic nachgemalt.

Die ausgeschnittenen Teile habe ich dann auf den kompletten Hintergrund aufgeklebt.

Mit dem Alphabet Stanzenset von Stampcorner habe ich die Buchstaben für ein "Kino?" aus weißem und rotem Cardstock gestanzt, leicht versetzt aufeinander und dann auf den Filmstreifen geklebt.

Und weil so eine Karte natürlich nicht ohne Motiv auskommt, habe ich Ernst das Hippo aus dem gleichnamigen Stempelset von Stampcorner benutzt.

 

From the two partly embossed cardstock pieces I cut out the wavy film strip and the two tickets - simply using my scissors, cutting close to the inked lines. I also used a red Copic to color the inner frame of the tickets.

I glued the cut out pieces onto the hole background.

Using the alphabet die set by Stampcorner I cut the letters for "Kino?" (movie?) from red and white cardstock, stacked the letters a bit offset and adhered them to the film strip.

And because such a card just can't go without an image I put this cute hippo by Stampcorner onto it.

 

 Mal ganz ehrlich - könntet Ihr dem Hippo einen Wunsch abschlagen, wenn er Euch mit so großen Augen erwartungs- und hoffnungsvoll ansieht? Ich habe ihn mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten.

Und oben rechts auf dem gestreiften Hintergrund habe ich dann noch zwei kleine Texte aufgeklebt. Sie sind aus dem Stempelset Kleine Worte, wobei ich den Text "ich lade dich ein" aus den Texten "ich liebe dich" und "Einladung" zusammengesetzt habe. Beide sind weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

 

Honestly, could you turn this little hippo down, when he's looking at you with big eyes full of hope and expectations? I colored him with Copics and cut him out with my scissors.

And in the top right corner of the striped background I added two small sets, white heat embossed onto black cardstock. They mean "you and me" and "you're invited". 

 

 Ich habe alle Elemente mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt aufgeklebt - auch den Filmstreifen mit den Tickets. Nur die gestanzten Buchstaben darauf sind mit Flüssigkleber befestigt.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered all elements with thin foam tape, also the filmstrip with the tickets. Only the die cut letters are attached with liquid glue. 

Then I put the card panel onto a white note card.

 

Geburtstagsgruß mit Sprühdosen

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ich hatte Euch ja vor kurzem erzählt, dass ich einige der Mini-Stanzensets von Gummiapan erstanden habe, weil die so toll zu den Mäusen von LawnFawn passen - und gleichzeitig vor weiteren Mäusekarten gewarnt. Nun, heute ist es soweit. Diesmal sind die Mäuse unter die Sprayer gegangen und verschönern eine Wand mit einem großen Geburtstagsgruß. Natürlich alles absolut legal und mit Erlaubnis! ;)

 

Hello everyone!

A little ago I told you, that I ordered some of the mini die sets by Gummiapan because they work so wonderfully with the mice by LawnFawn - and also warned you that there will be some more mice cards. Well, the day has come. This time the mice become sprayers and are spraying a large birthday greeting onto a wall. Of course completly legal and with permission! ;)

 

Der Hintergrund hier besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks, auf den ich mit einer Mauerstencil und Distress Ink Lost Shadow und Hickory Smoke Mauersteine aufgewischt haben. Am unteren Rand des Cardstocks habe ich mit Hickory Smoke und Black Soot einen Boden gewischt, der einfach aus einem Streifen  besteht.

Auf die Mauer und den Boden habe ich dann etwas mit Wasser gemischtes Black Soot und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

The background is made from a piece of white cardstock, that I added a brick pattern to using a brick wall stencil and Distress Ink Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke. At the bottom of the cardstock I added a ground with Hickory Smoke and Black soot, simply by masking the strip. 

I added fine splatters of white acrylic paint and also Black Soot mixed with a bit of water to both the wall and the ground.

 

 Unten auf dem Boden stehen natürlich die Mäuse und sprühen, was das Zeug hält. 

Die Mäuse sind aus den Sets Sew Very Mice, Merry Mice und Scripty Bubble Sentiments und, wie alle Elemente auf der Karte, mit Copics coloriert. Dann habe ich sie per Hand ausgeschnitten.

Die Spraydosen sind aus dem Set Skateboard and Spray Cans von Gummiapan, besonders genial finde ich ja die verknautschte Dose, die ebenfalls im Set ist. Das Skateboard habe ich hier nicht unterbracht, aber bereits eine weitere Idee.... Ich habe die Dosen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und coloriert.  

Of course the mice are standing on the ground, holding those spray cans and making the wall wonderfully colorful.

The mice are from Sew Very Mice, Merry Mice and Scripty Bubble Sentiments and, like all the elements on this card, colored with Copics. Then I cut them out with my scissors.

The spray cans are from Skateboard  and Spray Cans by Gummiapan, I especially love that crunched can, that's also in the set. I wasn't able to use the skateboard on this card but already have an idea... I die cut all the cans from white cardstock and colored them in.

 

 Den "gesprayten" Text an der Wand habe ich ebenfalls aus einem Stanzteil gestaltet. Ich habe die Giant Happy Birthday to You Stanze von LawnFawn benutzt und einmal aus schwarzem, einmal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Das weiße Stanzteil habe ich dann coloriert und das schwarze Stanzteil leicht versetzt dahinter gesetzt. An den Stellen, an denen kein schwarzer Schatten sichtbar ist, habe ich dann mit einem schwarzen Fineliner "Outlines" auf den colorierten Text gemalt. Außerdem durften  natürlich Highlights und Glanzpunkte nicht fehlen, die ich mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht habe.

Rund um und teilweise hinter dem Text habe ich dann noch dunkelblaue Punkte aufgeklebt, die ich abgestempelt und ausgeschnitten habe. Um alles habe ich dann teilweise noch ein paar schwarze Linien, direkt auf den Hintergrund gemalt, gesetzt.

 

The text "sprayed" onto the wall I created from die cuts as well. I used the Giant Happy Birthday to You die by LawnFawn and cut it once from black and once from white cardstock. The white die cut I colored in with Copics and put the black one behind it, offsetting it a bit. Then I used a black fineliner to add "outlines" onto the colored text only in those areas where there is no black shadow visible behind it. Of course I also needed some highlights and reflections, that I added with a white gel pen.

Around and partly behind the text I put some dark blue dots, that I stamped and cut out. Then I also added some black lines onto the wall around parts of the text. 

Bei dieser Karte war nicht viel Raum für Lagen - der Text musste natürlich direkt auf den Hintergrund geklebt werden, schließlich soll er dort aufgesprüht sein. Aber die Mäuse mit ihren Spradosen und auch einige der Spraydosen um sie herum habe ich dann doch mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

There wasn't much room for layers on this card - of course the text had to be glued directly onto the background because it was meant to look like it's sprayed onto it. But I put some thin foam tape behind the mice with their cans and also a few of the cans laying around. 

Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Vor einiger Zeit habe ich Euch meine Karte mit der Butterfly Blossom Reihe von WaffleFlower gezeigt. Aber ich will ehrlich sein: so wirklich zufrieden war ich mit der Karte nicht. Um die Zeit, bis die Sachen bei mir waren, zu überbrücken, hatte ich ein Video von JenniferMcGuire angeschaut, in dem sie sie verwendet und wirklich tolle Karten damit macht. Unter anderem eine mit Schmetterlingen aus Vellum. Und genau das wollte ich probieren. Ich denke aber, genau da lag das Problem - die Karte war nicht wirklich "meine". 

Ihr wisst sicherlich, dass Stempel und Stanzen ungerne alleine verreisen - und so hatte ich auch die Sunflower Reihe von WaffleFlower mitbestellt. Gleiches Produktpaket, nur diesmal mit Sonnenblumen. Und die kamen auf meinen heutigen Werken zum Einsatz. Ja, Werken, Mehrzahl, denn ich habe gleich zwei Karten damit gemacht. Und diesmal komplett ohne Inspiration oder fremde Einflüsse.

A little ago I shared with you the card I made with the Butterfly Blossom series by WaffleFlower. But to be honest: I wasn't completly happy with this card. To pass the time until my order arrived I watched  a video by Jennifer McGuire, where she used these products and made some really amazing card. On one of them she used vellum butterflies on the texture die and I wanted to try that myself. Guess that was the problem: the card was  not really "mine". 

I'm sure you know that stamps and dies don't like to travel alone - and so I had also ordered the sunflower series by WaffleFlower. Same products, but this time with sunflowers. And that's what I used on today's cards. Yes, cards - plural because I made two cards right away. And this time I didn't use any inspiration or got influenced by someone else.

 

 

 Karte #1 ist eher einfach - quasi zum Herantasten and die Produkte. 

Ich habe hier die Sunflower Cluster Stanze und zusätzlich noch die oberen Lagen der Blumen sowie die Blumenmitten aus dem Sunflower Die Set aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. 

Die Teile habe ich dann ganz zart mit den dazug passenden Sunflower Cluster Stencils coloriert. Dafür habe ich Distress Inks verwendet: für die Blüten Tattered Rose und Victorian Velvet, für die Blätter Twisted Citron und Mowed Lawn und für die Blumenmitten Mustard Seed und Wild Honey.

 

Card #1 is a bit on the simpler side - a test run to get a feel for the products.

I die cut the Sunflower Cluster and additionally the top flower layers and the flower centers from Sunflower Die from white cardstock. 

I used the coordinating Sunflower Cluster stencils to softly color the images using Distress Inks: Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet for the flowers, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the Leaves and Mustard Seed and Wild Honey for the flower centers.

 

 Der Text ist teils gestempelt, teils gestanzt. 

Das Wort sending ist aus dem Set Overlapping Hugs Additions. Ich habe es schwarz auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und mit der passenden Outline-Stanze ausgestanzt. Die habe ich noch drei weitere Male ausgestanzt und das gestempelte Wort damit hinterlegt.

Die Buchstaben für  das Wort Hugs sind mit Stanzen von MFT aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt. Auch hier habe ich pro Buchstaben vier Lagen verwendet.

 

The text is partly stamped, partly die cut.

The word sending is from the Overlapping Hugs Additions stamp set. I stamped it black onto white carstock and cut it out with the matching outline dies. I die cut it three more times and backed the stamped word with those die cuts.

The letters for the word hugs I cut from black cardstock using dies by MFT. Again I used four layers for each letter.

 

 Die einzelnen Blumen habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Blumenhintergrund geklebt und weißlich schimmernde Metallic Watercolor über alles gespritzt. Dann habe ich den Text aufgeklebt.

Als Deko habe ich drei kleine weiße Herzen hinzugefügt und ein Stück schwarzen Cardstock hinter alles gesetzt. Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used thin foam tape to adhere the individual flowers to the flower background, then splattered pearly white metallic watercolor over it and added the texts.

As decoration I added three small white clay hearts and put some black cardstock behind the flowers. As the last step I put everything onto a white card base.

 

Die nächste Karte ist dafür umso aufwändiger ausgefallen: hier habe ich das Motiv in verschiedene Ebenen geteilt und für jede Ebene eine neue Lage Cardstock aufgeklebt. Coloriert habe ich diesmal mit ZIG Markern. Und diese Karte ist dann auch mein Beitrag zur Coloring Club Challenge von Alberto Gava, diesmal mit dem Thema Die Cuts.

Nun, war das jede Menge Arbeit? Ja. Hat sie sich gelohnt? Ja! Also zumindest meiner Meinung nach, denn ich finde die Karte klasse.

Wie gesagt, habe ich ZIG Marker zum Colorieren benutzt und anschließend mit Polychromos die eingeprägten Details nachgemalt. Farblich habe ich die selbe Kombi aus grün und rosa wie bei der ersten Karte gewählt und auch hier habe ich perlmuttfarbene Metallic Watercolor über das Motiv gespritzt.

Und auch hier habe ich schwarzen Cardstock hinter das Motiv gelegt, diesen hier aber zuvor mit dem Dotty Circles 3D Embossingfolder von Altenew geprägt.

 

The next card is a lot more elaborate: here I divided the image into different levels and created a new cardstock layer for each. To color the image I used my ZIG markers here. And this card is my entry for the Coloring Club challenge by Alberto Gava, this time with Die Cuts as the theme.

Well, was that a labour of love? Yes. And was it worth it? Yes! At least that's what I think because I love how this card turned out. 

As said, I used ZIG marker for the coloring here, then brought in Polychromos to trace the details that are cut into the leaves and petals. Colorwise I went with the same pink and green combo that I had used on the first card as well and then splattered some pearly white metallic watercolor onto the image as well.

Again I put some black cardstock behind the image but here I embossed it with the Dotty Circles 3D embossing folder by Altenew.

 

 Für den Text kam wieder ein Wort aus dem Overlapping Hugs Additions Set zum Einsatz. Ich habe das Wort friend schwarz auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und mit der passenden Stanze ausgestanzt. Dann habe ich es zwischen und auf den Blütenblättern befestigt.

Das kleine hi there darüber ist aus einem der Itty Bitty Sets von MFT und ebenfalls schwarz auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt.

 

For the text I used the Overlapping Hugs Additions set again. I stamped the word friend black onto white cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating die. Then I put it between and onto the flower petals.

The small hi there above it is from one of the Itty Bitty sets by MFT and again stamped black onto white cardstock.

 

 Die einzelnen Lagen des Blumenmotivs habe ich hier direkt aufeinander geklebt - durch die vielen Lagen wirkt es sowieso wunderbar dreidimensional. Ich habe den Kleber jeweils nur hinter den Blumenmitten aufgetragen, so konnte ich die Blütenblätter und Blätter ein wenig nach oben biegen, um diesen Look noch zu verstärken.

Auch auf dieser Karte habe ich drei kleine weiße Herzen als Deko aufgeklebt. Und weil die Karte sowieso nicht unbedingt zum Verschicken - zumindest nicht in einem Kuvert - geeignet ist, habe ich dünnes 3D Tape benutzt, um das Motiv auf den geprägten Hintergrund zu kleben. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling aufgeklebt.

 

I glued all the layers that I had created directly onto each other - due to the many layers it already looks wonderfully dimensional. I put the glue only behind the flower centers, this way I was able to lightly bend the petals and leaves up to give the cluster even more dimension.

Also on this card I used three little white clay hearts as decoration. And since the card isn't one to mail out - at least not in an envelope - I used thin foam tape to adhere the image to the dry embossed background. Then I glued it onto a white note card.
