Craft Roulette Episode #330

Am Freitag gab es wieder eine neue Episode von Craft Roulette und ich habe den gestrigen Samstag dazu genutzt, ein Werk mit den Parametern dieser Woche zu machen. Es ist keine Karte geworden, sondern ein großer Tag. Und weil ich zu einem der Parameter tatsächlich nichts da hatte, war die Episode eine Herausforderung für mich. Aber ich habe einen Weg gefunden.

Friday a new episode of Craft Roulette aired and I used yesterday to make my project with the new parameters. I didn't make a card but a large tag. And because there's one of the parameters that I didn't  have anything for this episode was a real challenge. But I found a way.

This week's parameters are:

project: tag with pocket

colors: trick or treat

element: robot(s)

random: three strips of paper.

And yes, I really was at a loss in the first moment.

 

Im Endeffek habe ich einen großen Tag gestaltet, den ich mit einer Stanze von Sizzix aus Designpapier mit Weltallmuster gestanzt habe. Die Lage aus weißem Cardstock dahinter habe ich dann per Hand zugeschnitten und beide Teile aufeinander geklebt.

 

Finally I decided to make a large tag, die cutting it with a die by Sizzix from patterned paper with a space pattern. I cut the white layer behind it with my paper cutter and glued both pieces together.

 

 Für die Tasche, die  auf dem Tag enthalten sein soll, habe ich die Money Pocket Stanze von LawnFawn benutzt. Da die wie eine Jacken- oder Hosentasche aussieht,  habe ich sie aus blauem Papier mit Jeansmuster ausgestanzt. Das Blau passt auch super zum Designpapier im Hintergrund. Die Teile habe ich mit Alcoholmarkern ein wenig schattiert. 

Ich habe den Knopf aus orangefarbenem Hologramm-Cardstock gestanzt, die hintere Lage, die tatsächlich eine Tasche ist, aus olivgrünem Cardstock. So bekommt mein Werk auch gleich Halloween-Farben. Durch die Löcher im Knopf habe ich schwarzes Twine gezogen. 

Und hier habe ich dann auch die drei Papierstreifen, ein weiterer Parameter, untergebracht. Dafür  habe ich je einen orangefarbenen Hologramm-Cardstock- und einen silbernen Glittercardstock-Streifen quer über den Tag und auch die olivgrüne Tasche geklebt. Den dritten Streifen habe ich benutzt, um meinen Text unterzubringen. Der Streifen ist aus schwarzem Cardstock, ich habe einen Text aus dem You're Clawsome Stempelset von LawnFawn weiß darauf embosst.  

Und weil es so schön zum Thema Roboter passt, habe ich mit Stanzen von Sizzix einige Zahnräder aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt und im unteren Teil als Deko auf den Tag geklebt.

 

For the pocket, that had to be included, I used the Money Pocket die by LawnFawn. Since it looks like the pocket of some trousers or a jacket I die cut it from blue paper with a jeans pattern. The blue also goes perfectly with the patterned paper in the background. I shaded the pieces with alcohol markers.

The button I die cut from orange holographic cardstock, the back layer, that is actually a pocket, from olive green cardstock. This way I was adding the Halloween colors. I put some black twine through the holes in the button.

And here I also added the three strips of paper that were one of the parameters. I cut one strip from orange holographic cardstock, one from silver glitter cardstock and glued both across the tag and also the olive green pocket. The third strip I used to add my text. I cut the strip from black cardstock and white heat embossed a text from You're Clawsome by LawnFawn onto it.

And because it goes perfectly with the robot theme I used dies by Sizzix to die cut some gears from matte silver metallic cardstock and added those to the bottom of the tag.

 

 Und dann musste ich kreativ werden. Das einzige Roboter-Motiv, das ich habe, ist von LawnFawn und war viel zu klein für meine Karte. Also habe ich überlegt, was sonst passen könnte und mir sind die Roboter-Arme aus dem Galaxy Transport Stanzenset von StudioLight eingefallen. Aus denen und der Kuppel des Ufos habe ich dann einen Roboter gebastelt. Ich habe ihn aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt und mittig aus dem Gesicht ein Fenster herausgeschnitten. Um das habe ich einen dünnen Rahmen aus grünem Metallic-Cardstock geklebt und es mit orangefarbenem Hologramm-Cardstock hinterlegt. Das ist der Bildschirm mit den Augen. Die bestehen aus grünen Wackelaugen, außerdem habe ich zwei rosafarbene Backen aufgeklebt. Oben am Kopf befindet sich eine grüne Antenne, die ebenfalls aus dem Galaxy Transport Set ist. 

Um den Roboter etwas mechanischer aussehen zu lassen, habe ich rechts und links des Kopf zwei Schrauben aus silbernem Hologramm-Cardstock angebracht, die mit einer Stanze aus dem Build-a-Toolbox Set von LawnFawn sind. Aus dem selben Cardstock habe ich dann noch einige kleine Schrauben ausgestanzt und auf dem Roboter verteilt. 

Ich habe den Roboter hinter die blaue Tasche geklebt. Über ihm befindet sich dann noch eine Sprechblase. Sie ist aus schwarzem Cardstock, auf den ich weiß einen Text aus dem Set Retro Game von HeroArts aufembosst habe. 

 

And then I had to get creative. The only robot image I have is by LawnFawn but it was way too small for my card. So I tried to find something I could build a robot from - and came across the robot arms from Galaxy Transport by StudioLight. I used these and the top of the UFO to create my robot. I die cut the pieces from silver glitter cardstock and cut a window from the center of the face. I put a thin frame, cut from green metallic cardstock, around it and backed it with orange holographic cardstock. This makes the screen with the eyes. For the eyes I used some green googly eyes. I also added some pink cheeks. And on top of  the head I glued a gren antenna, that is again made using a die from Galaxy Transport.

To make the robot look a bit more mechanically I glued a screw behind the left and right of the head, made from silver holographic cardstock using a die from Build-a-Toolbox by LawnFawn. From the same cardstock I also cut some small screw heads and glued those onto the robot.

I tucked the robot behind the blue pocket. Above it I added a speech bubble. I made that from black cardstock, that I white heat embossed one of the texts from Retro Game by HeroArts onto.  

 

 In die grüne Tasche kann man dann auch eine Geschenkkarte stecken. Damit die auch problemlos reingeschoben/rausgezogen werden kann, habe ich die Sprechblase an einem Streifen Acetate geklebt und das andere Ende hinter dem Roboter angeklebt. So schwebt sie quasi über dem Tag.

 

You can put a giftcard into the green pocket. To make sure it can easily be put in and taken out I glued it to a strip of acetate and adhered the other end to the robot's back. This way it's kind of floating on the tag.

 

 Zum Schluss fehlte noch etwas am oberen Ende des Tags.

Ich habe den Lochverstärker durch ein weiteres Zahnrad ersetzt und ein kleineres daneben geklebt.

Dann habe ich aus olivgrünem Cardstock eine der Regency Bow No 1 Schleifen von TheGreetery ausgestanzt, ein wenig mit Alkoholmarkern schattiert und oben auf den Tag geklebt.

 

In the end the top of my tag was missing some decoration.

I replaced the hole reinforer with another gear and glued a smaller one next to it. Then I die cut one of the Regency Bow No 1 dies by TheGreetery from olive green cardstock, lightly shaded it with alcohol markers and glued it to the top of the tag.

 

 Da die olivgrüne Tasche bereits etwas erhöht ist, habe ich den blauen Aufleger und auch den schwarzen Textstreifen jeweils mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Alle anderen Teile sind direkt auf den Tag geklebt. 

 

Since the green pocket is alreay a bit raised I only backed the blue pocket and the black text strip with thin foam tape. All the other pieces I glued directly onto the tag.

 

Und dies ist mal wieder ein Werk, das ich so garantiert nie gemacht hätte. Aber genau das mag ich an Craft Roulette - es holt einen definitiv aus der Komfortzone!

Machen wir noch den Parameter-Check:

Tag with Pocket: Ich habe einen großen Tag gemacht und sogar zwei Taschen darauf angebracht.

Trick or Treat Colors, also Halloween: dunkelblau, orange, olivgrün und silber gehören für mich definitiv in diese Kategorie.

Robot(s): hinter der blauen Tasche schaut ein - selbstgebauter - Roboter hervor.

Three strips of Paper: ein orangefarbener und ein silberfarbener Streifen quer über den Tag und die Tasche, der dritte Streifen darüber enthält meinen Text. 

 

And this is once again a project I would never have made like this on my own. But that's what I love about Craft Roulette: it definately makes you leave your comfort zone!

Craft Roulette Episode #328

Inzwischen habe ich es mir zu einer Art Routine gemacht, samstags eine Karte nach den Vorgaben von Craft Roulette zu machen. Das läuft ja immer Freitag nachts unserer Zeit... Diese Karte ist für Episode #328 und die Vorgaben, die das Rad ermittelt hat, waren diesmal:

Since a few weeks I have made it some kind of routine to pass the saturday with making a card after the parameters ofr Craft Roulette. The show runs friday night my time.... This card I made for episode #328 and the parameter the wheel has brought up are:

project: A2 card

colors: tutti frutti

element: container

random: unusual color(s).

 

Nun, Container lässt wieder viel Freiraum für Ideen und auch Auslegungen. Da ich das Farbschema  Tutti Frutti nicht unbedingt mit Früchten kombinieren wollte, habe ich alles wie Schüsseln, Einkauftaschen, Körbe etc. für mich ausgeschlossen und kam ziemlich schnell auf eine Sardinenbüchse. Der Rest hat sich dann beim Basteln von selbst ergeben.

Der Hintergrund ist ein mit Distress Inks Dried Marigold, Wild Honey und Picked Raspberry gewischtes Stück weißen Cardstockstocks. Um ihn etwas interessanter zu machen habe ich erst Distress Mica Spray in den Farben Antique Bronze, Winterberry und Cocktail Party aufgespritzt, die passen ganz gut zu den zum Wischen verwendeten Farben. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich dann mit weißer Pigment-Tinte den Scallop Stripes Background von MFT aufgestempelt. 

 

Well, container once again leaves a lot of freedom for ideas and ways to interpret that. I knew I didn't want to combine the tutti frutti colors with fruits an so I didn't want to use anything like bowls, shopping bags, baskets etc. I pretty quickly thought of a sardine tin. The other ideas just popped up in my head during the making of this card.

The background is a piece of white cardstock that I inked with Distress Ink Dried Marigold, Wild Honey and Picked Raspberry. To make it a bit more interesting I first sprayed on some Distress Mica Spray in the colors Antique Bronze, Winterberry  and Cocktail Party. These match the colors I had used to ink the white cardstock pretty well. After the background had dried I used some white pigment ink to stamp the Scallop Stripes Background by MFT on top.

 

 Für meine Sardinenbüchse habe ich Stanzen aus dem Set Packed with Love von HeroArts mit der Sardine Tin und dem passenden Stempelset von Magnolia kombiniert. 

Ich dachte mir, wenn schon "unusual colors" dann soll sich das Thema auch durch die  komplette Karte ziehen. Der orange-pinke Wellenhintergrund hat den Anfang gemacht, meine Sardinenbüchse habe ich aus gelbem Cardstock gemacht. Die sind eigentlich ja eher blau oder türkis. Der Boden besteht aus einem etwas dunkleren Ton, den Deckel habe ich mit Alkoholmarkern schattiert. Auf den Deckel habe ich mit schwarzer Tinte das "Deckelmotiv" von Magnolia  aufgestempelt, dann habe ich den oberen Teil weggeschnitten, die Kante aufgerollt und den "Schlüssel" hineingeschoben. Den habe ich, genauso wie die silbernen Ränder, aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks gestanzt, auf das ich mit doppelseitigem Tape vollflächig Alufolie - matte Seite nach oben - aufgeklebt habe. 

Den Rand der Büchse habe ich mit drei Lagen aus schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt, damit die Fische  etwas mehr Platz haben. Die Fische sind, genauso wie die Elemente für die Büchse, aus dem Packed with Love Stanzenset von HeroArts. Ich habe mich für pinkfarbene Fische entschieden - jeder Fisch besteht aus einem hellen und einem dunklen Fisch. Von den dunklen Fischen habe ich die Köpfe abgeschnitten und sie dann auf die helleren Fische aufgeklebt. Auch hier habe ich die Teile mit Alkoholmarkern schattiert. Außerdem habe ich Stickles auf die Fischschuppen aufgetragen. Und hier passten Wackelaugen, die ich sonst eigentlich nicht so gerne mag, einfach perfekt. Also habe ich die auf die ausgestanzten Augen aufgeklebt. 

Und weil Sardinen immer in Öl schwimmen, habe ich etwas Glossy Accents rund um die Fische  verteilt. 

Ich habe drei kleine rote Herzen, gemacht mit Stanzen von Create a Smile, über den Fischen verteilt. Außerdem habe ich hinter der oberen rechten Ecke der Sardinenbüchse einen kleinen Text angebracht. Der ist aus dem Sardine Tin Stempelset von Magnolia und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich ihn mit einer Kreisstanze ausgestanzt. 

 

For the sardine tin I combined dies from the die sets Packed with Love by HeroArts and Sardine Tin - and the matching stamp set - by Magnolia.

I thought, if I am going to use "unusual colors" than I them on my entire card. I started with the orange and pink wave background, the sardine tin I created from yellow cardstock. Usually they come in blues or aquas. I used a slightly darker shade for the bottom, the lid I shaded with alcohol markers. Onto the lid I stamped the "sardine tin lid image" by Magnolia, then I cut away the top, rolled the edge up and tucked the "key" into it. I die  cut that and also the silver brims of the tin from some white cardstock, that I had covered with some tin foil - matte side up - using wide doublesided tape. 

The brim of the tin I backed with three layers cut from black cardstock so my fish have a bit of room. The fish, and also the tin, are from Packed with Love by HeroArts. I decided to go with pink fish - each fish is made from a light and a dark layer. I cut off the head of the dark layers and then glued the body onto the fish cut from lighter cardstock. Again I shaded the pieces with alcohol markers. I also applied some Stickles to the fish' scales. And here some googly eyes - that I don't like with most images - were just perfect. So I glued some onto the eyes that get cut into the heads. 

And because sardines usually come in oil I applied some Glossy Accents around the fish.

I added three small red hearts, made using dies by Create a Smile. I also tucked a text under the top right corner of the tin. It's from Sardine Tin by Magnolia and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. Then I cut it out with a circle die. 

 

 Sardinen und Zitronen passen ja super zusammen, deswegen habe ich auch welche auf meiner Karte eingebaut. Die habe ich dann rot coloriert - gestanzt habe ich sie aus ganz hellrosa Cardstock. Die größere Zitrone ist aus dem Set Zesty Lemon von LawnFawn, die halbe Zitrone daneben von MemoryBox. 

Neben den Zitronen habe ich dann einen weiteren Text, wieder aus dem Set von Magnolia und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst, angebracht. Außerdem habe ich ein weiteres Herz auf die ganze Zitrone geklebt.

 

Sardines and lemons go together so wonderfully that I decided to put some onto my card. I colored those red - after die cutting them from very light pink cardstock.  The larger of the lemons is from Zesty Lemon by LawnFawn, the half one by MemoryBox. 

Next to the lemons I added another text, again from the set by Magnolia and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. I also glued another red heart onto the whole lemon. 

 

 Da die Sardinenbüchse ja durch den erhöhten Rand und den aufgerollten Deckel etwas höher ausgefallen ist, habe ich die Zitronen mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Als Deko habe ich einige weiße Perlen auf der Karte verteilt, dann habe ich den Kartenaufleger erst schwarz gemattet und ihn dann auf einen weißen Kartenrohling in A2 geklebt.

 Und nun noch schnell einen Parameter-Check:

Since the sardine tin with its tripled up brim and the rolled up lid did turn out a bit thicker I  backed the lemons with thick foam tape.

As decoration I added a few white peals, then I matted the card panel black and adhered it to a white card base in A2 size.

So let's do a quick parameter check:

Best birthday fishes

Die Sardinen sind los... und an ihnen scheiden sich ein wenig die Geister. Ich finde sie toll. Und deswegen dürfen sie diese Geburtstagskarte zieren. 

 

Hello everyone!

The sardines are on the loose... and it seems that not everyone likes them. I love them. And that's why they are the star of this birthday card.

 

 Angefangen hat bei dieser Karte alles mit dem Hintergrund. Der ist aus dem Mini-Release, das TheGreetery im Mai oder Juni herausgebracht hat. Die Wellen sind einfach wunderbar - und es gibt zusammenpassende Embossingfolder, Stencils und eine Outline-Stanze. Ich habe hier alles drei verwendet. 

Zuerst  habe ich mit der Stanze zweimal die Formen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und sie mit dem Embossingfolder geprägt. Anschließend habe ich sie mit den Stencils und Distress Ink Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers und Uncharted Mariner gewischt. Von einem der Wellenpanele habe ich nur den unteren Teil benutzt und mit dünnem 3D Tape in zwei weiteren Lagen am unteren Teil der größeren Welle angeklebt. Dann habe ich alles auf dunkeltürkis-farbenen Cardstock geklebt, den ich im unteren Teil ebenfalls mit Uncharted Mariner gewischt habe.

Auf die sich brechenden Wellen habe ich mit einem stumpfen Pinsel etwas weiße Paste aufgetupft, so dass es wie Schaumkronen aussieht. Außerdem habe ich über alles schimmrige Spritzer aufgespritzt. 

 

It all started with the background here. It's from the mini release that TheGreetery had back in may or june. I love these waves - and there are an embossing folder, a stencil set and an outline die set, that all go together. I used all three here.

First I die cut the outline die two times from white cardstock and dry embossed them with the embossing folder. Then I used the stencils and Distress Ink Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Uncahrted Mariner to color the waves. I only used the bottom from one of the panels, separated it into two pieces and adhered those with thin foam tape to the bottom of the larger panel. Then I glued everything onto a piece of dark aqua cardstock, that I inked again at the bottom with Uncharted Mariner. 

I used a brush that I have cut down the brisels very shortly and dabbed some white paste onto the breaking waves so it looks like sea foam. I also added splatters with some white shimmer paint.

 

 Nun gab es im Juli-Release von TheGreetery auch Sardinen Stanzen - and die war aber kein Herankommen. Also habe ich die Sardinen aus dem Big Mouth Sardine Stanzen von HeroArts verwendet. Ich habe zwei große und eine kleinere Sardine aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und sie dann vom Schwanz her mit etwas Uncharted Mariner gewischt. Auf die Schuppen habe ich Stickles aufgetragen.

Um die Sardinen etwas geburtstagstauglicher zu machen, habe ich den großen Sardinen den Partyhut aus dem Set Silly Goose von TheGreetery aufgesetzt. Da der Hut für die kleinere Sardine zu groß war, hat sie einen Luftballon aus dem selben Set ins Maul bekommen. Ich habe die Schnur und eine Schleife, die eigentlich um den Hals einer Gans gehört, aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock, den Luftballon aus grünem Vellum gestanzt. Auf die Partyhüte habe ich dann wieder Stickles aufgetragen und den PomPom im oberen Teil durch eine dunkelgrüne Glitzerkugel ersetzt. 

 Die  Fische  habe  ich dann hinter die kleineren Wellenlagen gesteckt. 

 

 In their july release TheGreetery also released some sardine dies - but I had no chance of getting my hands on those. So I used the sardines from Big Mouth Sardine by HeroArts instead. I die cut two large and one smaller sardine from green cardstock and inked them from the tail with Uncharted Mariner. Onto the scales I added some Stickles.

To make those fish look more festive I gave the larger sardines party hats from Silly Goose by TheGreetery. Since the hat was too large for the smaller sardine I let that hold a balloon from the same set. I die cut the string and bow, that orginially goes around a goose's neck, from silver glitter cardstock, the balloon from green vellum. I applied Stickles again to the party hats and replaced the pompom at the top with a ball, covered with dark green glitter. 

I tucked the fish between the smaller layers of waves. 

 

 Für meine Text habe ich ein Birthday Fishes aus dem Set Packed with Love von HeroArts mit einem Best aus dem Set Hey Honeycomb Summer Sentiments von TheGreetery kombiniert und beides jeweils auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Das Birthday Fishes habe ich dabei gerade gebogen - eigentlich ist der Text in einer Kurve gestempelt. Diesen Text habe ich dann bannerförmig ausgeschnitten, das best rund ausgestanzt und mit einem weißen Gelstift einen Rahmen aufgemalt. 

Die beiden Textteile habe ich im unteren Bereich auf die Karte geklebt. 

 

For my text I combined a Birthday Fishes from Packed with Love by HeroArts with a best from Hey Honeycomb Summer Sentiments by TheGreetery and white heat embossed both onto black cardstock. The Birthday Fishes text is originally bent - I put it straight into my Misti. Then I cut that out in a banner shape and the best in a circle shape. There I added a frame with a white gel pen.

I adhered both text parts at the bottom of my card.

 

 Weil mir bei der Karte irgendetwas fehlte, habe ich noch eine Lage Vellum über alles gelegt. Aus der habe ich mittig erst mit den Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Stanzen von TheGreetery ein Fenster eingestanzt und dann einen der Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Stempel mit silbernem Glitter-Embossingpulver drumherum embosst. 

Das Vellum habe ich 4 cm breiter zugeschnitten als meinen Kartenaufleger und dann an beiden Seiten jeweils bei 1, 1,5 und 2 cm gefalzt. An der 1 cm breiten Lasche habe ich es hinter den türkisfarbenen Cardstock gestanzt, die übrigen Scoring Lines sind M-förmig gefalzt.  So steht das Vellum etwas auf und bildet einen tollen Rahmen für die Fische. Trotzdem sieht man die Wellen noch etwas durch das Vellum hindurch. Wie immer hat sich das Vellum beim Embossen ein wenig gewellt, deswegen ist die Lage an der oberen Kante etwas "eingedellt". Aber das stört mich nicht. 

 

Because I was missing something on this card I put a layer of vellum over it. I die cut one of the Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition dies by TheGreetery from the center and then heat embossed one of the Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition stamps around it using silver glitter embossing powder.

I cut the vellum 4 cm wider than my card panel and scored each side at 1, 1,5 and 2 cm. I used the 1 cm flap to glue the vellum to the back of the aqua cardstock, the other score lines are folded in an M shape. Now the vellum stands up and creates a great frame for the fish. But you can still see the waves through it, at least a bit. As always the vellum warped a bit when I did the heat embossing and so the top layer is a indented at the top edge. But it doesn't bother me too much. 

 

 Als Deko habe ich noch ein paar silberne Sternkonfetti auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen, oben gefalteten  Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I added a few silver star confetti as decoration and then glued the card panel to a white note topfolding note card.

Letztes Jahr kam HeroArts mit dem Big Mouth Nutcracker Set raus und ich habe zu Halloween einige Karten damit gemacht. Im Januar gab es dann eine Erweiterung mit einer Sardinendose - musste ich natürlich haben! Bis jetzt kam sie aber nicht zum Einsatz. Das habe ich mit dieser Karte geändert.

Last year HeroArts released their Big Mouth Nutcracker set and I made a few cards with it for Halloween. In january they released a sardine tin add-On - and of course I had to have it. I hadn't used it yet, but I changed that with this card.

 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich dunkelblauen Cardstock an den unteren Rändern mit dunkelblauer Tinte gewischt. Dann habe ich mit Tinsel Embossingpulver von Ranger den Scallop Stripe Hintergrund von MFT aufembosst. Das Embossingpulver ist nicht wirklich weiß, sondern eher silbrig, mit kleinen Glitzerpunkten. Das gefiel mir besser, als reines weiß. 

Über den Hintergrund habe ich dann ein großes Fischernetz von MarianneDesign geklebt. Ich habe es aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Faded Jeans stellenweise etwas abgedunkelt - ich selbst habe nämlich noch nie ein wirklich sauberes Fischernetz gesehen.

 

For the background I inked the bottom edges of a piece of dark blue cardstock with dark blue ink. Then I used Tinsel embossing powder by Ranger to heat emboss the Scallop Stripe background by MFT onto it.  The embossing powder is more a silvery white with small glitter in it - I liked that better for this card than bright white.

Across the background I glued a large fisher net by MarianneDesign. I cut it from light blue cardstock and then inked a few areas with Distress Ink Faded Jeans. I myself have never seen a really clean fisher net and wanted to include that look.

 

 In der Mitte der Karte befindet sich dann die Sardinendose, die mit dem Big Mouth Sardine Stanzenset gemacht ist. 

Den Deckel der Dose habe ich aus Watercolor Cardstock gestanzt und dann erst mit Nuvo Shimmer Powder Blue Blitz eingefärbt - ich mochte einen etwas schimmrigen Effekt für den Deckel, so als bestünde er aus bedrucktem Metall. Da war das Pulver perfekt. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich noch etwas Distress Spritz Peacock Feathers aufgesprüht, so wirkt sie älter.

Den Ring zum Öffnen sowie den Rahmen außenrum habe ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic Cardstock gestanzt und jeweils mit einer zusätzlichen Lage weißen Cardstocks hinterlegt.

Die Deko auf der Dose ist teilweise mit Stempeln aus dem passenden Stempelset Well Preserved gemacht: die Bordüre habe ich mit schwarzer Tinte aufgestempelt, die Texte silbern aufembosst. Dabei sind einige Teile Embossingpulver auf der Bordüre hängen geblieben, wo die Tinte noch nicht komplett trocken war, aber der Effekt gefällt mir hier. Damit sich die Texte besser abheben, habe ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner noch einen Schatten aufgemalt.

Die Fische sind wieder aus dem Stanzenset. So wie alle Fische auf der Karte habe ich sie aus Glitter-Cardstock mit Regenbogen-Farbverlauf gestanzt. Und weil es mir so besser gefallen hat, habe ich jeweils einen kleinen weißen und darauf einen noch kleineren schwarzen Kreis als Augen aufgeklebt. Die beiden Fische auf der Dose habe ich außerdem jeweils mit einem schwarzen Fisch hinterlegt.

 

In the center of the card there's the sardine tin, that I made with the Big Mouth Sardine die set.

I cut the lid from watercolor cardstock and then colored it with Nuvo Shimmer Powder Blue Blitz. I wanted a shimmery look for my tin to make it look like printed metall. The powder was perfect for that. After the cardstock had dried I also spritzed some Distress Spritz Peacock Feathers on top to make the tin look a bit aged.  

The ring to open the lid and the frame around it I cut from matte silver metallic cardstock and backed both pieces with an additional layer that I cut from white cardstock.

The decorations on the lid are partly made with dies from the matching Well Preserved stamp set: I stamped the border with black ink, the texts I heat embossed with silver embossing powder. A bit of the embossing powder stuck to the black border, the ink hadn't dried completly yet, but I liked the effect here. To make the texts pop out a bit more I used a black fineliner to draw a shadow under the words. 

The fish are again from the sardine die set. Like all the fish on my card I die cut them from glitter cardstock with a rainbow color change. And because I liked them better this way I replaced the eyes with small circles, cut from white and black cardstock. The fish on the lid I also backed with a shadow layer, cut from black cardstock.  

 

 Unten rechts auf der Karte habe ich noch ein paar weitere Fische aufgeklebt und außerdem einen Angelhaken angebracht. Für den habe ich einfach den Anker aus dem Sardine Stanzenset aus matt-silbernem Cardstock gestanzt und die rechte Hälfte weggeschnitten. Durch die Öse habe ich etwas weißes Twine als Angelschnur gezogen und das dann nach oben über die Karte geklebt. 

 

In the bottom right corner I added a few more fish to the card and also a fishing hook. For the hook I simply die cut the anchor from the sardine die set from matte silver metallic cardstock, then cut off the right half. I put some white twine through the ring at the top and glued this "fishing line" across the card to the top edge. 

 

 Oben links habe ich zwei weitere Fische auf den Hintergrund geklebt und dann als Blasen einige klar-irisierende Pailetten auf der Karte verteilt.

Den tollen Schimmer des blauen Teils der Sardinendose konnte ich leider nicht richtig einfangen. 

 

I added two more fish to the background in the top left corner of the card, then glued small clear iridescent seuqins onto the background, they remind me of bubbles.

Sadly I wasn't able to really catch the shimmer on the sardine tin's lid. 

 

 Wer das Big Mouth Stanzenset von HeroArts kennt, weiß, dass man damit eine Slider Card machen kann. Und im Fall des Sardine Sets öffnet sich natürlich die Sardienendose. Deswegen ist auch der Öffner auf dem Deckel etwas nach oben gebogen - daran kann man die Dose einfach aufschieben.

In meiner Dose befinden sich sieben große Sardinen - auch denen habe ich große Augen aus weißen und schwarzen kleinen Kreisen aufgeklebt. Und auch sie sind wieder aus dem Glitterpapier mit Regenbogenverlauf gestanzt. Der Farbverlauf kommt auf den Bildern leider nicht so gut rüber.

 

If you know the Big Mouth die set by HeroArts then you know that it makes a slider card. And with the sardine set of course the sardine tin opens. That's also why the small opener on the lid is bent up slightly - it can easily be grabbed to slide the lid open.

In my tin there are seven large sardines - again I added large eyes made from small white and black dots to my fish. And again I cut them from the color changing glitter cardstock, the color changing sadly isn't as visible on the pictures as it is in real life.  

 

 Weil Sardinen ja bekanntlich in Öl schwimmen, habe ich auf den mattsilbernen Cardstock, den ich auf meinen Kartenrohling geklebt habe, rund um die Fische Glossy Accents aufgetragen - bewusst so, dass an einigen Stellen keines ist, so dass es auch wirklich auffällt und wie Öl aussieht.

Auf hitzebeständige Folie habe ich dann noch "sending Birthday Fishes" weiß aufembosst. Das "sending" ist aus dem Set Itty Bitty Holidays von MFT, das "Birthday Fishes" ist wieder aus dem Well Preserved Stempelset. Die Streifen habe ich dann direkt auf meine Fische geklebt und dabei den Kleber hinter dem weißen Embossingpulver versteckt.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Since sardines always come in oil I added some Glossy Accents around the fish and onto the matte silver metallic cardstock that I had glued onto the card base. I left a few small areas free so the difference is visible and it really looks like oil.

I then heat embossed "sending Birthday Fishes" onto a strip of heat resistant acetate. The "sending" is from Itty Bitty Holidays by MFT, the "birthday fishes" again from Well Preserved. I glued the strips onto the fish, hiding the glue behind the white embossing.  

Then I glued everything onto a white card base.

Vor kurzem ist das Jean Jacket Bundle von HeroArts bei mir eingezogen und das ist meine erste Karte damit.

A little ago I got the Jean Jacket Bundle by HeroArts  and this is my first card using it.

 

Ich hatte erst die Jacke gestaltet und dann überlegt, was als Hintergrund dazu passen würden. Letztendlich habe ich mit blauer Tinte, den selben Farben, die auch bei der Jacke zum Einsatz kamen, und einem Stencil Strahlen auf hellblauen Cardstock gewischt. Darauf habe ich dann weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt.

 

I had created the jacket first and then thought, what I wanted to do as the background. Finally I used some blue ink, the same tones I also used on the jacket, and a rays stencil to add some rays  to a piece of light blue cardstock. Then I splattered white acrylic paint onto it. 

 

Das Bundle besteht aus einer Stanze und dazu passenden Stencils, beides auch separat zu nutzen. Ich habe es kombiniert und die Jacke aus grau-blauem Cardstock gestanzt. Ich bin sowieso nicht unbedingt der Jeans-Mensch, aber wenn, dann muss sie dunkelblau oder schwarz sein. Hellblaue Jeans mochte ich noch nie. 

Ich habe die Details für die Front der Jacke zusätzlich aus dem selben Cardstock gestanzt, die Knöpfe sind aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock. Dann habe ich die Stencil benutzt, um die Falten aufzuwischen. Dabei habe ich die zusätzlich gestanzten Teile ebenfalls gewischt. Ich hatte außerdem noch den Denim Background von MFT. Den habe ich erst mit dunkelblauer Tinte und anschließend mit weißer Pigment-Tinte auf alle Teile gestempelt - bewusst nicht perfekt, so dass es realistischer wirkt. Aber ich finde, der Stempel gibt der Jacke den Look, als würde sie tatsächlich aus Stoff bestehen.

Mit einem hellgrauen Gelstift habe ich dann die  Nähte aufgemalt, außerdem hat die Jacke an der Seite ein rotes Label bekommen. Ihr wisst sicher, welche Marke ich da im Kopf hatte. Auch im Inneren des Kragens habe ich ein Label angebracht. Das ist aus dem Stempelset Occasional Labels von MamaElephant. Ich habe den Stempel beim Einkleben ins Misti etwas gebogen, so dass er sich an die Rundung des Kragens anpasst. Dann habe ich ihn mit hellblauer Tinte abgestempelt.

Es gibt zu dem Jackenset zwei Zusatzsets - eines mit Fliege und Hosenträgern und eines mit Patches als Deko für die Jacke. Die habe ich beide nicht bestellt - ich denke, den Look kann man auch ohne die Stanzen gestalten. Also habe ich meine Stanzen nach kleinen Motiven durchforstet  und mich dann für eine kleine Blume von Create a Smile, einen Smilie von Spellbinders und eine Kirsche von LawnFawn entschieden. Ich habe die Teile aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt und auf schwarzen Cardstock geklebt. Den habe ich dann mit der Schere so ausgeschnitten, dass ein schmaler schwarzer Rand stehen bleibt. 

The bundle contains a die and a matching stencil, both can be used without each other. I combined them here and die cut the jacket from grey-ish blue cardstock. I am not really a jeans girl but if I feel like wearing one it has to be dark blue or black. I never liked the ligth blue ones.

I also die cut the detail pieces for the front of the jacket from the same cardstock, the buttons I cut from matte silver metallic cardstock. Then I used the stencils to add the shadows to  the jacket. I also did that on the parts I had cut additionally. I also have the Denim Background by MFT. I first stamped it with dark blue ink onto all the pieces, then with white pigment ink on top. I didn't care for a perfect impression tomake the look more realistic. And I think, the jacket really looks like it's made from fabric. 

With a light grey gel pen I added the stitches and also glued a small red label next to the pocket. I think we  all  know which brand I had in mind. I also added a label to the inside of the collar. That's made using a stamp from Occasional Labels by MFT. When sticking  it to my Misti I bent it slightly to make the shape match the one on the collar. I stamped it with light blue ink.

There are two additional sets you can order for the jean jacket - one with a bow tie and suspenders and another one with little patches. I didn't any of these because I think I can get the same look without the dies. So I went through my dies and looked for small images I could use. I went with a small flower from Create a Smile, a Smilie by Spellbinders and a cherry by LawnFawn. I cut all the pieces from colored cardstock, glued them onto black cardstock and cut that out with my scissors, leaving a small edge of the black visible all around.  

 Irgendwie wollte ich dann natürlich das Jeans-Thema mit meinem Text aufgreifen. Neben JEANius ist mir nur JEANuine eingefallen, aber das passt ja ganz gut zu einer Freundschaftskarte. Ich habe die Buchstaben aus blauem und weißem Cardstock gestanzt und die blauen auf die selbe Weise mit dem Denim Background bestempelt, wie ich es auch bei der Jacke getan habe. Dann habe ich die weißen Buchstaben etwas versetzt dahinter geklebt.

Der Rest des Textes ist mit Stempel aus den Henry's Build a Sentiment Sets von LawnFawn und dunkelblauer Tinte gemacht. Alles habe ich oben links auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

 

I somehow wanted to include the jeans theme in my sentiment. Besides JEANius I only came up with JEANuine, but I think, that goes great with a friendship card.  I die cut the letters from blue and white cardstock and stamped the Denim Background onto the blue ones just like I did on the jacket. Then I glued the white letters behind the blue ones just a bit offset. 

The rest of the text is made using stamps from the Henry's Build a Sentiment sets by LawnFawn and stamped with dark blue ink. Then I glued the text to the top right of my background. 

 

 

Beim Zusammenkleben der Karte habe ich alle zusätzlichen Elemente mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt, die Knöpfe sind jeweils mit zwei weiteren Lagen blauen Cardstocks hinterlegt.

 Aber das war noch nicht das Ende der Karte...

 

When putting the card together I backed all the additional elements with thin foam tape, behind the buttons there are two layers cut from blue cardstock.

But there's more behind this card... 

 

 

 Ich wollte nämlich unbedingt auch die Rückseite der Jacke benutzen. Also habe ich sie nicht einfach aus blauem Cardstock gestanzt sondern aus einer Art Karte. Die Falz der Karte habe ich dabei ganz knapp innerhalb der seitlichen Kante der Jacke angelegt. So ist eine kleine, seitlich aufklappbare Jacke entstanden. Wenn man sie öffnet, sieht man das hier.

Ich habe die Rückseite der Jacke genauso "behandelt" wie die Vorderseite. Als zusätzliches Element habe ich hier nur einen Kragen für die rechte Seite gestanzt. Auf der linken Seite habe ich darauf verzichtet, damit die Stelle nicht zu dick wird.  

 

 I really wanted to use the back of the jacket, too. So instead of cutting it from just cardstock, I cut it from a smaller sidefold card. I placed the fold of this small card just next to the side edge of the die to create this jacket shaped card. When you open it, this is what you see.

I created the back of the jacket just like I did the front. As an additional element I only added a collar to the jacket on the right side. I skipped it on the left because I was afraid, that the jacket would become too bulky here. 

 

 

Auf der linken Rückseite habe ich dann ein ausgestanztes thanks aufgeklebt. Ich habe es mit einer Stanze von MFT aus weißem und  rotem Cardstock gestanzt und auf die Jacke geklebt. Der Text war hier notwendig, da dieser Jackenteil ja nirgends aufgeklebt wird, an den Stellen der Nähte aber Linien in die Jacke gestanzt werden. Das "thanks" hält die zusammen und die Jacke fällt nicht auseinander. 

 

On the left back I glued on a die cut thanks. I cut that with a die by MFT from white and red cardstock and glued it on. I needed that text here because this part of the jacket isn't adhered to anything. The die cuts slits into the jacket where the seams are, the "thanks" holds the jacket together and keeps it from coming apart.  

 

 

 

 Auf der rechten Jackenrückseite geht der Text dann weiter. "Thank you for always having my back" fand ich passend zur Rückenansicht der Jacke. Da ich auch hier keinen passenden Stempel habe, habe ich den Text mit Stempeln und Stempelteilen aus verschiedenen Stempelsets von LawnFawn zusammengesetzt. Dann habe ich als  Deko noch drei Herz-Patches gestaltet und auf der Jacke verteilt - zwei auf der rechten und eines auf der linken Seite. Die Herzen-Patches sind als Stanzen so im Jean Jacket Set enthalten. 

 

The text continues on the right jacket back. "Thank you for always having my back" seemed a good text to go with the back of the jacket. I didn't have  a text that says that. So I used  different stamps and parts of stamps from differenet stamp sets by LawnFawn to put it together. Then I also created three heart shaped patched and glued them onto the jacket backs - one on the left and two on the right side. The dies for those heart patches come in the Jean Jacket die set.

Das Thema der Simon Says Stamp IG Challenge lautet "shaker card". Da kommt mir das Snack Attack Set von HeroArts doch gerade recht, denn Chips rascheln so schön in der Tüte...

The theme of Simon Says Stamp's IG challenge is "shaker card". The Snack Attack series by HeroArts came right in time for that - chips always make such a great sound inside the bag...

 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück blauen Cardstocks mit dem All Star Burst Embossingfolder von SimonSaysStamp Strahlen und Sterne eingeprägt. Die Ränder des Cardstocks habe ich mit Distress Ink Prize Ribbon abgedunkelt und dann ein goldenes Metallic-Stempelkissen über die erhabenen Stellen des Designs gezogen, um das Muster besser hervorzuheben.

 

For the background I dry embossed stars and rays into a piece of blue cardstock using the All Star Burst embossing folder by SimonSaysStamp. I inked the edges of the cardstock piece with Distress Ink Prize Ribbon and then dragged a gold metallic pigment stamp pad over the raised areas to bring out the pattern more.

 

 Schon als ich die Chipstüten-Stanze von HeroArts das erste Mal gesehen habe, war ich in sie verliebt. Nun war sie endlich auch hier bei uns zu bekommen - und ja, natürlich habe ich mir gleich das All That Bundle mit Stanzen, Stencil und passendem Stempelset gekauft. Alles drei kam hier zum Einsatz.

Ich habe die Chipstüte einmal aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock und einmal aus normalem weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Außerdem habe ich die oberen und unteren Teile aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt.

Von der weißen Tüte habe ich die versiegelten Kanten weg- und außerdem in den mittleren Teil ein Fenster geschnitten. Die hellblauen Teile habe ich zuerst mit Distress Ink Salty Ocean schattiert und dafür den Stencil benutzt. Anschließend habe ich hier etwas klaren Nuvo Aqua Shimmer aufgetragen. Dadurch ist leider der Kontrast der Schattierungen verloren gegangen und ich habe sie kurzerhand mit Copics nachgemalt. 

Die Chipstüte habe ich dann ein weiteres Mal aus Folie gestanzt und auch hier die Kanten oben und unten weggeschnitten. Auf die Folie habe ich dann mittig mit schwarzem StazOn das große Chip Chip Hooray aufgestempelt. Und weil die Strahlen größer als der Mittelteil sind, habe ich sie mit schwarzer Tinte auch noch deckungsgleich auf die hellblauen Streifen der Tüte gestempelt. 

Auch die Chpis sind in dem Set enthalten - ebenfalls mit passenden Stencils. Ich habe sie mehrfach aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen gelben Cardstocks gestanzt und dabei normale und geriffelte Chips gemischt. Das Muster habe ich mit Distress Ink Mustard Seed und Fossilized Amber aufgewischt und anschließend feine Spritzer von Brushed Corduroy auf den Chips verteilt. 

Einige der Chips habe ich unten auf/hinter die Tüte geklebt, die übrigen habe ich verwendet, um den Shaker zu füllen. Zusätzlich habe ich einige gelb-irisierende Pailetten eingefüllt. Der silberne Metallic-Cardstock ist durch das Fenster zu sehen und sieht aus wie die Innenseite einer Chipstüte.

Mit Stempeln aus dem How You Bean Money Add-On Set von LawnFawn habe ich noch den Text auf dem unteren Teil der Tüte gestaltet. Das "treat yourself" ist mit schwarzem Cardstock auf gelben Cardstock gestempelt, der Text darunter ist weiß direkt auf die Tüte embosst.

Oben habe ich die Tüte mit drei kleinen Sternen aus gelbem Cardstock dekoriert. Außerdem habe ich hier noch den Preis aus dem Comic Book Cover Stempel von WhimsyStamps, schwarz auf gelben Cardstock gestempelt, aufgeklebt. Ich fand, der passt hier super.

 

As soon as I saw the bag of chips die set by HeroArts I was hooked. It was finally available here in Germany and yes, of course I had to get the All That bundle with the dies, matching stencil and a stamp set. I used all three on this card.

 I die cut the bag of chips from matte silver metallic cardstock and from regular white cardstock. The smaller upper and lower pieces I cut from light blue cardstock. 

From the white die cut I cut off the sealed strips at the bottom and top and also cut a window into the center. The light blue pieces I first shaded with the stencil and Distress Ink Salty Ocean, then covered it with a clear Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen. That let the shaded areas fade out and I simply used Copics to draw them on again.  

I cut the bag of chips again from acetate and again cut off the sealed strips. Onto the center of the acetate I stamped the large Chip Chip Hooray using black StazOn. And since the text was too large to fit the center piece I stamped the ends of the rays onto the light blue pieces, also, making the postion match the one of the text on the acetate.

 The chips are also included in the set. I die cut them from two different shades of yellow cardstock, mixing both regular and rippled ones. I shaded them with the stencil and Distress Ink Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber, then added some fine splatters of Brushed Corduroy. 

I glued some of the chips onto and behind the bag and used the others to fill the shaker, putting some yellow-iridescent into the mix. The silver metallic cardstock is visitble behind the actetate, looking like the inside of a real bag of chips. 

Using Stamps from How You Bean Money Add-On by LawnFawn I created the text on the bottom of the bag. I stamped the "treat yourself" with black ink onto yellow cardstock, the text under it I white heat embossed directly onto the blue cardstock.

The top of the bag I decorated with three small yellow stars. I also added the prize tag of the Comic Book Cover by WhimsyStamps, stamped black onto yellow cardstock. I just thought it worked great on that bag of chips.

 

Ich weiß ja nicht, wie es Euch geht - aber wenn da eine offene Tüte Chips vor einem liegt, dann muss  man einfach hineingreifen. ;)

Um der Tüte den geöffneten Look zu geben, habe ich die untere Verschlusskante nochmal aus dem matt-silbernen Metallic Cardstock gestanzt, an den Seiten etwas gekürzt und mit dünnem 3D Tape hinter die obere Kante der Tüte geklebt. Zwischen die beiden Lagen habe ich drei weitere Chips geklebt. Und eines der Chips nimmt gerade eine Hand aus der Tüte.

Die Hand ist aus dem Crafty Hands Set von MFT. Ich habe die Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Dann habe ich die Hand am Chip befestigt und den Überstand des Arms weggeschnitten. 

 

I don't know about you - but when there is an open bag of chips laying in front of me I just have to reach into it. ;)

To add the opened look to the bag I die cut the bottom sealed edge again from the matte silver mirror cardstock and cut off a bit at the sides. Then I glued that with thin foam tape behind the top edge of the bag. Between the two layers I tucked three more chips. One of them is just taken out by a hand.

The hand is from Crafty  Hands by MFT. I cut the pieces from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. Then I attached the hand to one of the chips and cut off the overhanging part of the arm.

 

 Durch den embossten Cardstock und den Shaker hat die Karte bereits einge gewisse Tiefe. Und auch auf weitere Deko habe ich verzichtet und habe nur mit einem weißen Gelstift einen Rahmen auf den dunkelblauen Cardstock gemalt. Dann habe ich den dekorierten Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

The card has already some dimension due to the embossed cardstock and the shaker. I also didn't add any more decorations and only drew a frame onto the background using a white gel pen. Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

 

Ein großer Nussknacker

Im September hatte ich Euch ja von unserer "Mission Nussknacker" auf dem Stempelmekka erzählt. Als CreativeDepot dann Ende Oktober einen Cut-and-Emboss-Folder  eben dieses Nussknacker herausbrachte, war "Mission Nussknacker 2.0" geboren. Wobei es diesmal mit einer simplen Bestellung ganz einfach, ihn zu bekommen. Und er darf diese Karte zieren.

Back in september I told you about our "mission nutcracker" at Stempelmekka. When CreativeDepot released a cut-and-emboss folder of exactly that nutcracker, "mission nutcracker 2.0" was born. But with just ordering it online it was very simple to get my hands on him. He's the main focus on this card.

 

Ich wollte einen Hintergrund für meinen Nusssknacker und habe wieder die Capsule Basics von TheGreetery benutzt. Ja, die kommen momentan recht häufig zum Einsatz, was aber daran liegt, dass die komplette Bestellung noch auf meinem Tisch liegt. Ich habe mir ja angewöhnt, Sachen, die ich noch nicht benutzt habe, so lange liegen zu lassen, bis sie zum Einsatz kamen. Und hier ist es eben die komplette TheGreetery Bestellung, weil alles so toll zusasmmem passt. 

Ich habe das kleinere der gewellten Ovale aus dem Set aus blau-grünem Cardstock gestanzt und es dabei per Partial Diecutting etwas verlängert. Der Nussknacker ist so groß, der brauchte mehr Platz, von der Breite her war aber genau dieses Oval perfekt.

Auf das Oval habe ich dann mit dem Rosemal Reflections Stempelset ein Muster aufgestempelt. Der Stempel war natürlich für das verlängerte Oval zu kurz und ist von der Breite her auf ein größeres Oval ausgelegt. Also habe ich jeweils nur ein Viertel gestempelt und dann das Oval gedreht bzw. den Stempel versetzt. In der Mitte überlappen die Motive ein wenig, aber das wird ja vom Nussknacker verdeckt. 

Die Blumen habe ich mit zwei Blau- und einem Grauton gestempelt, da sie Layering Stempel sind. Außerdem habe ich die leicht gebogene Punktelinie jeweils außen an die "Ecken" gestempelt.

 

I wanted a background for my nutcracker and used the Capsule Basics die by TheGreetery again. Yes, I use these quite often lately, but they are still on my desk and so right in reach. I started to let new things lay on my desk until I used them. And here I let out the whole order because the things go together so wonderfully.

I die cut the smaller scalloped oval from blue-green cardstock and made it a bit longer by doing some partial diecutting. The nutcracker is so large that it needed more space and the width of the oval  was just perfect.

I used the Rosemal Reflections stamp set to stamp the pattern onto the oval. The stamp, of course, was too short for the elongated oval and is originally made for a larger oval. So I only stamped a quarter of the pattern, then turned the oval or moved the stamp. The images overlap slightly in the center, but these areas get covered by the nutcracker.

I used two tones of blue and one grey to stamp the flowers, they are layering images. I also stamped the slightly curved dotted line outside the pattern into the "corners".

 

 Den Nussknacker habe ich in/aus weißem Cardstock gegprägt und geschnitten. Dann habe ich ihn mit Copics und Polychromos coloriert. Er sollte ein wenig vintage werden, ist dann aber irgendwie doch kräftiger ausgefallen als geplant. 

Die gold colorierten Elemente habe ich dann mit einem goldenen Gelstift beglittert, die Augen mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen nachgemalt. 

Die Schleife und die Ilexblätter, mit denen ich den Nussknacker dekoriert habe, sind aus dem Ornamental Tag Stanzenset von TheGreetery.

 

I cut and embossed the nutcracker from white cardstock, then colored him with Copics and Polychromos. I wanted him to look a bit vintage, but it turned out brighter than I had planned.

I used a gold gel pen to add some glitter to the gold colored elements, the eyes I covered with a black Glaze Pen.

The bow and the holly leaves, that I used to decorate the nutcracker, are from the Ornamental Tag die set by TheGreetery.

 

 Am unteren Ende, hinter die Füße des Nussknackers habe ich noch einige Zweige und zwei weitere Ilex-Blätter geschoben. Auch sie sind aus dem Ornamental Tags Set. 

 

At the bottom of the card I tucked some greenerey and more holly leaves behind the nutcracker's feet. They are again from Ornamental Tags.

 

 Ich habe dünnes 3D Tape verwendet, um den Nussknacker auf den Hintergrund zu kleben, und die Karte mit einigen goldenen Perlen dekoriert. 

 

I used thin foam tape to adhere the nutcracker to the background and decorated the card with a few gold pearls.

 

 Den Nussknacker kann man nach oben aufklappen, im Inneren dieser Klappkarte habe ich meinen Text untergebracht.

Eigentlich schneidet der Cut-and-Emboss-Folder eine seitlich zu öffnende Klappkarte, ich wollte aber unbedingt, dass meine Karte nach oben zu öffnen ist. Also habe ich vom Nussknacker, den ich coloriert habe, den seitlichen Teil abgeschnitten. Den habe ich dann noch zweimal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und bei einem der Teile oben einen schmalen Steg mit einer Falzlinie abgetrennt. Nur oberhalb der Falzlinie habe ich dann erst den zweiten Kartenteil und darauf dann den colorierten Nussknacker befestigt. Aus allen Lagen habe ich dann mit einem Cuttermesser die Teile zwischen Arm und Rumpf herausgeschnitten.

Der Text im Inneren ist mit Stempeln aus dem A Little Nuts Stempelset von HeroArts gemacht. Ich habe sie mit blaugrauer Tinte aufgestempelt und zwischen die beiden Textteile zwei weitere Ilexblätter, die ich übrig hatte, sowie drei goldene Perlen geklebt. Außerdem habe ich  mit einem goldenen Gelstift einen Rahmen aufgemalt.

 

 The nutcracker can be folded up, inside this card I stamped my text.

The cut-and-emboss folder originally creates a side folding card, but I wanted a top folding one. So I cut off the solid part off the side of the colored nutcracker and cut just this part two more times from white cardstock. On one of the pieces I added a score line, just a bit under the top edge of the nutcracker. Just above that scoring line I first glued on the other solid nutcracker, than glued the colored one on top. I used a cutting knife to cut out the areas between the chest and arms on all layers of my card.

The text inside the card is made using stamps from A Little Nuts by HeroArts. I stamped them with greyish-blue ink and put two more holly leaves, that I just had left over, and three gold pearls between the sentiments. I also used a gold gel pen to draw a frame on the inside of the card.
