Ein schaukelndes Gespenst

Heute habe ich eine weitere Halloweenkarte für Euch. Und auf der habe ich einige meiner Errungenschaften vom Stempelmekka eingeweiht (die Karte ist bereits im September, kurz nach dem Mekka entstanden).

Today I have another Halloween card to share with you. I used some of the products I purchased during Stempelmekka, the one and only stamp fair in Germany that's held the first weekend of september (and I already made this card only 2 days after that event). 

 

 Die Geister von Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous standen auf meiner Wunschliste - und die Stempelbar hat sie in allerletzter Sekunde noch für mich mit eingeladen. Ich habe nämlich einige Bilder mit Boho-Geistern gesehen und  denke, diese Gespenster kann man dafür perfekt abwandeln. Auf dieser Karte sind aber erstmal zwei der kleinen Geister nachts im Garten unterwegs. Dort schaukeln sie genauso gerne wie auch Menschenkinder. 

Meine Karte ist eine Art Shadow Box  Card. Die Basis  habe ich aus schwarzem Cardstock gemacht. Sie ist 15 x 10,5 x 2,5 cm groß. 

Die Front der Karte habe ich mit grauem Cardstock beklebt. Den habe ich mit dem Brick Wall Embossingfolder von Nellie Snellen geprägt. Außerdem habe ich mit der Arch Stanze von MarianneDesign den Torbogen gestanzt. Ich habe ihn per Partial Diecutting verlängert, so dass aus dem Fenster eine Art Tor wird. Ich habe ihn aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alkohlmarkern schattiert. Auf beide Teile habe ich dann schwarze Metallic Watercolor und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. Aus dem Mauerhintergrund und der Front der  Karte habe ich mit einem Cutter ein Fenster ausgeschnitten, das ein klein wenig größer als der offene Teil des Torbogens ist. So kann man durch den Bogen ins Innere der Karte schauen. Torbogen und Mauerhintergrund  habe ich dann auf die Kartenfront geklebt.  

 

Those ghosts by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous were on my shopping list - and the guys from Stempelbar loaded them into their car for me absolutely last minute. I had seen some Boho ghosts and think, these can easily be altered to make cards with them. But here two of the small ghosts are out in the garden during the night. They love playing on a swing as much as human kids.

This card is some kind of shadow box card. I made the base from black cardstock, it measures 15 x 10,5 x  2,5 cm. 

I covered the front of the card with grey cardstock, that I had dry embossed the brick pattern into using the Brick Wall embossing folder by NellieSnellen. I also die cut an arch using the Arch die by MarianneDesign. I made it taller by doing partial die cutting so the window turns into some kind of entry. I cut it from light grey cardstock and shaded it with alcohol markers. I splattered black metallic watercolor and white acrylic paint onto both pieces.

From the brick wall background and the black card base I cut a window with my cutter, slightly larger than the opening in the arch. This way you can look through the arch inside the card. I glued the arch and the brick wall background onto the card front. 

 

 Im Innern der  Karte habe ich eine Nachszene als Hintergrund eingeklebt.

Dafür habe ich den Mond aus dem Vault Wicked Set von Sizzix aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks gestanzt. Die Ränder  des  Monds und den Bereich um den ausgestanzten Mond habe ich mit Distress Oxide Twisted Citron eher zart gewischt. Dann habe ich den Rest des Hintergrunds mit Mowed Lawn, Broken China, Uncharted Mariner und Black Soot gestaltet. Für die Sterne habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Aus Vellum habe ich den Cloud Background von WaffleFlower gestanzt und im oberen Bereich über den Himmel geklebt. Außerdem habe ich die Bäume aus dem Spooky Forest Backdrop von LawnFawn rechts und links entlang des Cardstockrands angeklebt. Unten am Boden befinden sich noch einige Büsche. Sie sind mit dem Laub aus dem Countryside Set von Concord and 9th gemacht und genauso wie die Bäume aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt. Die Ränder dieser Stanzteile, die dem Mond näher liegen, habe ich wieder ein wenig mit dem Twisted Citron gewischt - die Oxide Inks sind ja auch auf dunklem Cardstock sichtbar. Und so sieht es so aus, als würden sie vom Mondlicht beschienen.

 

Inside the card I glued down a night scene  as my background.

I die cut the moon from Vault Wicked by Sizzix from a piece of white cardstock and inked the edges of the moon and the area around the cut out moon softly with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron. Then I inked the rest of the sky with Mowed Lawn, Broken China, Uncharted Mariner and Black Soot. For the stars I splattered on some white acrylic paint.

From vellum I die cut the Cloud Background by WaffleFlower and glued it in the upper area onto the background. I also die cut the trees from Spooky Forest Backdrop by LawnFawn along the left and right edge of the cardstock. At the bottom I added some bushes, made with the leaves dies from Countryside by Concord and 9th. I cut these and also the trees from black cardstock and inked the edges, that are facing towards the moon, with a bit of Twisted Citron. The Oxides are also visible on dark cardstock and so it seems as if these parts of the scene are reflecting the moon light.

 

 Hier könnt Ihr den Hintergrund nochmal aus einer anderen Perspektive sehen. Den Mond habe ich natürlich beim Einkleben des Hintergrunds wieder an seinen Platz im Cardstock gesetzt.

Und hier seht Ihr auch schon mal den kleinen Geist auf der Schaukel. Mir war mal nach einer anderen Farbe als weiß oder hellblau für die Geister und ich habe mich für ein Hellgrün entschieden. Sie sehen fast ein wenig aus, als würden sie leuchten...

Ich habe beide Geister mit Memento New Sprout abgestempelt und mit Alkohlmarkern und Polychromos coloriert. 

 

Here you can see the background from another angle. Of course I glued the moon back in its place in the background when glueing that into/onto the card.

And here you also see the little ghost on the swing. I felt like using a different color than white or blue for the ghosts and went with a light green. It kind of looks as if the ghosts are glowing.

I stamped both with Memento New Sprout and colored them with a mix of alcohol markers and Polychromos.

 

 Die Schaukel ist ebenfalls eine Errungenschaft  vom Stempelmekka und von Steckenpferdchen. Ich habe die Sitzfläche ein klein wenig schmäler gemacht. Die Teile sind aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und coloriert. 

Außerdem habe ich hier zwei Kürbisse von Gummiapan und ein Schild von Craft and You eingeweiht. Auf das Schild, das ich aus grauem Cardstock gestanzt habe, habe ich weiß ein Hey Boo aus dem Spooky Spirits Set aufembosst und die Schildteile mit schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt.

Die Kürbisse habe ich passend zu den Geisern coloriert und alle drei Elemente rechts vom Torbogen auf die Karte geklebt. Auf der linken Seite befindet sich ein weiterer Geist, der darauf wartet, dass er an die Reihe ist mit Schaukeln. 

 

The swing is also something I bought at the stamp fair, it is by Steckenpferdchen. I made the board to sit on a bit skinnier. I cut the pieces from white cardstock and colored them.

I also used two pumpkins by Gummiapan and a sign by Craft and You for the first time here. I white heat embossed a Hey Boo from Spooky Spirits onto the sign, that I cut from grey cardstock and backed the sign and post with black cardstock.

The pumpkins I colored matching the ghosts and glued all three elements on the right side of the arch. On the left side there's another little ghosts, waiting until it's his turn to go on the swing.

 

Und ich konnte nicht anders, die Geister sollten so richtig Spaß haben. Deswegen....

 

And I just couldn't resist and let those ghosts have some real fun. So...

 

 Von Anfang an hatte ich die Idee, die  Schaukel tatsächlich nach vorne und hinten schwingen zu lassen. Deswegen ist dies auch eine Shadow Box  Card.

Für den Mechanismus habe ich einfach im oberen Bereich rechts und links ein Loch in das Seitenteil der Kartenbasis gestanzt.  Durch die Löcher habe ich dann jeweils von außen ein Eyelet geschoben, das ich aber nicht "gequetscht" habe. Stattdessen habe ich ein Stück eines Schaschlickspießchens aus Holz, das die selbe Breite wie meine Karte hat, hindurch geschoben und dann jeweils einen Kreis aus schwarzem Cardstock auf das Eyelet geklebt. So kann das Holzstäbchen nicht herausrutschen. Damit es nicht so unschön auffällt, habe ich es vor dem Einschieben mit schwarzer Stempelfarbe eingefärbt - und meine Finger ordentlich mit. Deswegen dabei unbedingt Handschuhe tragen!

Die Schnüre der Schaukel habe ich im oberen Bereich ein wenig gebogen und um das Holzstäbchen geklebt. Da das frei drehbar ist, bewegt sich die Schaukel durch die Schwerkraft beim Neigen der Karte nach vorne und hinten und der kleine Geist kann wirklich schaukeln.

 

Right frrom the beginning I had the idea of the swing actually move back and forth. That's also  why I made a shadow box card here.

For the mechanism I punched two holes in the upper area of both side pieces of the card base. Through these holes I put a eyelet, not "squishing" it. Instead I put a wooden skewer the  same width of my card through them and then covered the eyelets with  a circle cut from black cardstock. This keeps the skewer from sliding out. And to hide it a bit I used black ink to color it - and my fingers, too. I really should wear some rubber gloves for jobs like this.

I curled the top ends  of the swing's ropes  a bit and then glued them around the skewer. Since that can turn freely the swing moves back and forth when the card is tilted, simply by gravitation - and  the ghost can actually swing.

Heute habe ich eine weitere Halloweenkarte für Euch. Die war eigentlich als schwarz-weiße Karte gedacht. Eigentlich. Zuerst brauchte ich irgendeine Farbe für den Hintergrund, also kam Grau dazu. Und dann hatte ich auf dem Mekka grünes und beere-farbenes  Glitter-Embossingpulver  gekauft  - mit Halloween  im Hinterkopf. Da wird  es aber Zeit, das auch mal zu verwenden. Entschieden habe ich mich dann für den Beerenton.

Today I have another Halloween  card to share  with you. It started as  a black and white card. That was the original paln. But then I needed a different shade for my background and added grey. And then I had bought green and berry toned embossing powders at a stamp fair - with Halloween in mind. So it is about time to use it. I went with the berry tone here.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus hellgrauem Cardstock. Den habe ich erst ein wenig mit Distress Oxide  Pumice Stone gewischt und dann mit der Frostbite Astro Paste und  einem Mauerstencil Mauersteine aufgewischt. Nun, das Frostbite trocknet fast durchsichtig. Also habe  ich auf die  Mauersteine etwas weiße Acrylfarbe  sowie  schwarze Distress Ink aufgetragen und später noch schwarze Acrylfarbe  aufgespritzt. Die weiße Acrylfarbe habe ich verwendet um das lilafarbene Gilding Wax, das ich zuerst aufgetupft hatte, zu überdecken. Das hat mir nämlich gar nicht  gefallen. Und so ist die Mauer im Hintergrund nun ein wilder  Mix  aus Pasten und  Farben. Aber so passt  es zu Halloween. 

Entlang des  unteren Rands des Cardstocks, der übrigens 4" x 6" groß ist, sonst hätte  die Deko nicht draufgepasst, habe ich dann noch einen Streifen grauen Woodgrain  Cardstocks aufgeklebt, den ich ein wenig mit Black Soot gewischt  habe.

 

The background is made from light grey cardstock. I first inked it lightly with Distress Oxide  Pumice Stone, then I used the Frostbite Astro Pate and a brick stencil to add the brick stones. Well, the Frostbite  dries nearly clear. So I put some white acrylic  paint and black Distress Ink onto them and later  splattere black acrylic paint over everything. I used the white acrylic paint to cover the purple gilding wax I had applied first. I really didn't like that on the bricks. So this brick wall is now a wild mix of different pastes, inks and colors. But it works great for Halloween.

Along the  bottom edge of the cardstock, that is 4" x 6" to have  enought space  for  my decorations, I adhered  a strip of grey woodgrain cardstock that I have  inked  with a bit of Black Soot. 

 

 Für die Deko kamen fast ausschließlich wieder Sets aus der Heroween Box von HeroArts zum Einsatz. Da waren - und sind - ja doch noch viele unbenutzt. Nur für die Cloche habe ich zu Stanzen von Spellbinders und einem Stempel von Charlie und Paulchen gegriffen. 

Ich habe die Kuppel der Cloche mit einer der  Essential Arches Stanzen von Spellbinders gestanzt - die  passte  nämlich nicht nur perfekt zum Stempel sondern auch zum Holztablett. Das ist übrigens auch von Spellbinders und aus dem Tiered Tray Set. Ich habe zwei der Hauben aus hitzebeständigen Acetate gestanzt und dann mit dem schon erwähnten lilafarbenen Glitter-Embossingpulver  von HeinDesign den Lichterkuppel-Stempel von Charlie und Paulchen aufembosst. Dabei habe ich ihn einmal an der oberen Kante der Haube angesetzt, für die obenauf liegende Haube habe ich ihn etwa 3/4" nach oben verschoben, damit die Glitterpunkte nicht zu viel meiner Deko im Inneren verdecken. 

  Oben auf der Glaskuppel der Cloche habe ich dann noch einen Raben sowie zwei Fledermäuse angebracht - eine dritte befindet sich auf der Mauer. Hinter diesen Dekoelementen habe ich den Kleber versteckt, mit dem ich die beiden Folienteile hier im oberen Bereich zusammengeklebt habe. Im unteren Bereich sind sie  ein wenig in den Schlitz des Tabletts gesteckt und dort dann zusammengeklebt. 

 

For the decorations I mainly used dies from the Heroween Box by HeroArts again. There were - and still are - many dies not used yet. I only used dies by Spellbinders for the cloche and added the glitter with a stamp by Charlie und Paulchen.

I used one of the Essential Arches  by Spellbinder for the top of the cloche - it did not only go perfectly with the stamp but also fit the tray. The tray is from Spellbinders as well and from their Tiered Tray set. I die cut two of the arches  from heat resistent acetate and then heat embossed the Lichterkuppel stamp by Charlie und Paulchen onto it using the already mentioned purple glitter embossing powder by HeinDesign. I lined the top of the stamp with the top of the arch with one die cut, with the other one I moved the stamp up about 3/4" so the glitter doesn't cover too much of the decorations inside the cloche.

 On top of the glass part of the cloche I added another crow and two bats - a third one is glued onto the background. Behind these elements I've hidden the glue that I used to glue the two acetate pieces together. At the bottom I tucked the acetate arches just a bit into a slit in the tray and glued them together behind it

 

 

Im Inneren der Cloche befinden sich ein großer Geist mit Laterne, ein Kürbiskopf, ein lilafarbener Baum mit Rabe, ein Zaun, ein Mond sowie einige Grasbüschel. Ich habe hier wild die Stanzen der verschiedenen Sets aus der Heroween Box kombiniert. Bei der Laterne habe ich das Glas samt Kerze durch ein kleines Kürbisgesicht ersetzt. 

Alle Teile sind wieder  mit Distress Oxide Kissen Lost Shadow und Hickory Smoke eingefärbt. Dem kleinen Geist habe ich mit Distress Ink Seedless Preserves hell-lila  farbene Wangen gegeben. 

 

Inside the cloche I placed a large ghost with a lantern, a Jack 'o Lantern, a purple tree with a crow, a fence, a moon and some grass. I combined dies from a lot of the sets from the Heroween box here. With the ghost's lantern I replaced the glass with the candle with a small Jack 'o Lantern.

I used Distress Oxide ink pads Lost Shadow and Hickory  Smoke again to shade all the pieces. For the ghost's cheeks I used Distress Ink Seedless Preserves.

 

 

 Das Tablett, auf dem sich die Deko befindet, habe ich ebenfalls gewischt und dann mit einem Stempel aus der Heroween Box und dem lilafarbenen Embossingpulver einen Gruß aufembosst. Den habe ich ein wenig gebogen, so dass er sich der Form des Tabletts anpasst.

Hier unten habe ich dann noch zwei Spinnen aus schwarzem Cardstock aufgeklebt.

 

The tray, that the decoration is on, I inked as well and then used a stamp from the Heroween box and the purple embossing powder to stamp a text onto it. I bent the stamp a bit to make its shape fit the shape of the tray.

And down at the bottom of the cloche I also added two spiders, cut from black cardstock.

 

 Beim Zusammenkleben der Karte kam hier ausnahmsweise mal kein 3D Tape zum Einsatz, ich habe alles direkt auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Dabei habe ich den Kleber nur hinter den Elementen im Inneren der Cloche aufgetragen.

Dann habe ich den dekorierten Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. 

 

When putting the card together I didn't use any foam tape for a change and glued everything directly onto the background. I put the glue only onto the areas behind the elements inside the cloche. 

Then I glued the card panel onto a white note card. 

 

Heute mal Herbst im Quadrat

Ich bin immer noch hin- und hergerissen:  Herbstkarte oder Halloweenkarte? Heute hat die Herbstkarte gewonnen. Und die ist zur Abwechslung mal quadratisch, das habe ich schon ewig nicht  mehr gemacht.

I am still torn: fall card or Halloween card? Today the fall  card has won over the Halloween one. And for a change  I've made a square card, something I haven't done in quite some time.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus hell-türkis farbenem Cardstock, den ich im oberen Bereich ganz sanft mit Distress Ink Peacock Feathers gewischt habe. 

Aus Vellum habe ich den oberen Teil des Cloud Background von WaffleFlower  ausgestanzt, in Teile geschnitten und sie etwas weitere  auseinander auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Die  meisten Klebestellen werden dabei von Motiven verdeckt, nur an zwei kleinen Stellen rechts oben war das nicht möglich. Aber das stört mich  nicht sehr.  

Im unteren Bereich habe ich dann die Rolling Hills von TheGreetery verwendet, allerdings nur einen Teil davon. Ich habe sie aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt und dann den dazu gehörigen Stencil dazu genutzt, um die Streifen in den Feldern mit braun-gelb einzufärben. Die unteren Ränder der Hügel habe ich dabei auch ein wenig  mit  schattiert. Einen der Hügelteile habe  ich dabei aufs Gesicht gedreht, sonst wären die Streifen vorne in die selbe Richtung  gelaufen und das  hat mir nicht gefallen. 

Auf die Felder habe  ich dann noch etwas weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

The background is made from light aqua cardstock, that I inked very softly with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers in the upper area.

From Vellum I die cut the upper half of the Cloud Background by WaffleFlower, cut it into strips and glued them a bit farther apart from each other onto the background. Most of the glue is hidden from images, only in the upper right there are two tiny spots where that wasn't possible. But it doesn't bother me too much.

In the lower part of the card I used the Rolling Hills by TheGreetery, but only parts of it. I die cut them from yellow cardstock and then used the matching stencil set to ink the stripes on the fields with brown-ish yellow ink. I also darkened the bottom of each hill with that ink. I turned one of the hills onto its face, otherwise the stripes in the front would have gone in the same direction and I didn't like that.

I splattered wome white acrylic paint onto  the  hills.

 

 Hauptelement der Karte ist die Countryside Villa Jumbo  von TheGreetery.  Die habe  ich aus apricotfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt. Für die Dächer habe ich mich für ein Rotbraun, für die Fensterläden für ein "dreckiges" Gelb entschieden. Die Torbögen habe ich dunkelbraun hinterlegt. 

Das Haus habe ich mit Distress Ink Tea Dye etwas schattiert, mit Alcoholmarkern einige farblich passende Mauersteine aufgemalt und dann rotbraune Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt. 

Vor die Fenster habe ich Blumenkästen mit gelb-braunen Blumen, alles aus dem selben Set, gehängt. Außerdem steht hinter dem Haus eine große Zypresse, die beiden kleineren in den Blumentöpfen sind aus dem Countryside Villa Mini Set. 

Und dann habe ich das Haus mit den Glyzinien aus dem Blumen-Ape Set von Charlie und Paulchen berankt. Aus dem Set sind übrigens auch die  Blumentöfpe. Da Glyzinien ja im Herbst nicht blühen, habe ich die Blüten aus hellgrünem Cardstock gestanzt, nun sieht es aus wie Weintrauben. 

In einen der Torbögen habe ich zum Schluss noch einen kleinen Text aus dem Autumn Blessings Set von MFT untergebracht. Ich muss gestehen, dass das die Idee meines Mannes  war, ich war nämlich ratlos, wo Platz für den Text war, und er hatte dann die zündende Idee. Ich habe ihn weiß aufembosst. 

 

Main element on my card is the Countryside Villa Jumbo by TheGreetery. I die cut it from apricot colored cardstock. For the roofs I went with a reddish brown, for the shutters a "dirty" yellow.  I put dark brown cardstock behind the arches. 

I shaded the house with Distress Ink Tea Dye, drew on a few bricks with alcohol markers and then splattered rust colored metallic watercolor onto the building.

 I've hung up some flower boxes with yellow-brown flowers, all from the same set, in front of the windows. There's also a large cypress behind the house, the two smaller ones in the flower pots are from Countryside Villa Mini.

And then I let the wisteria from Blumen-Ape by Charlie und Paulchen grow over the house. By the way, the flower pots come from this set as well. Since wisterias don't bloom in fall I die cut the blossoms from light green cardstock. Now they look like grapes. 

I then stamped my text from Autumn Blessings by MFT into one of the arches. I have to admit, that was my husband's idea. I had no idea, where to put it, and  he came up with this. I white heat embossed it.

 

 Unten links auf der Karte habe ich dann noch die Vespa, ebenfalls von Charlie und Paulchen, angebracht. Die komplette Estate  Italiana Reihe passt so toll zu dieser Reihe von TheGreetery. Und weil sie auch noch zum absolut unschlagbaren Preis ins Outlet gingen, musste ich einfach zuschlagen. 

Ich habe die Vespa und den Helm aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und, passend zum Himmel, hell türkis coloriert. Dafür habe ich Alcoholmarker benutzt. 

 

In the bottom left corner I added a Vespa, also by Charlie und Paulchen. Their whole Estate Italiana series goes so great with this series by TheGreetery. And because the had it in their outlet for only 2 Euros I just had to order some.

I die cut the Vespa and  helmet from white cardstock and colored them a soft aqua, matching the sky. I used alcohol markers for the coloring.

 

 Der Himmel war im Vergleich zum Rest der Karte zu fad. Also habe ich noch den Ast aus dem Countryside Set von Concord and 9th hinzugefügt. Die Blätter habe ich wieder aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen gelben Cardstocks gestanzt, etwas schattiert und dann sowohl weiße Acylfarbe als auch goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt. 

 

The sky looked too plain, compared to the bottom of the card. So I brought in the branch vom the Countryside set by Concord and 9th. I die cut the leaves from two  different shades of yellow cardstock, shaded them and then splattered on white acrylic paint and gold metallic watercolor. 

 

 Die beiden Lagen des Hauses habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt. Damit habe ich auch die Dächer, die Zypressen in den Töpfen und die Vespa aufgeklebt. Die Hügel im Vordergrund sind mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt, ebenso die beiden Lagen des  Astes.

Als  Deko  habe ich drei apricot farbene Herzen angebracht und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I put the two layers of the house together using thin foam tape. I also used it to glue on the roofs, the cypresses in the pots and the Vespa. The hills in the foreground are backed  with thick foam tape, as are the layers of the branch. 

I added two apricot colored clay hearts as decoration and then glued the card panel onto a white notecard. 

 

LawnFawnatics Challenge #230

  Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Fairy Tale Magic  - so lautet das Thema der neuen LawnFawnatics Challenge. Und wie ich das neue Gingerbread House Stempelset so auf meinem Tisch liegen sah, fiel mir spontan "Hänsel und Gretel" ein. Und so habe ich das Märchen zum Thema meiner Karte gemacht.

Und keine Angst, auf meiner Karte gibt es natürlich ein alternatives Ende, bei dem die Hexe freundlich ist und die Kinder nicht braten möchte, so dass sie zum Schluss auch nicht selbst im Ofen landet....

Fairy Tale Magic - that's the theme of the new LawnFawnatics challenge. And when I saw the new Gingerbread House stamp set on my desk I immediately had "Hänsel and Gretel" in mind. And so I made this fairy tale the theme of my card.

Don't worry, of course I have a different ending on my card - the witch is a friendly one that doesn't plan to eat the kids and so she doesn't end up in the oven herself....

 

Im Hintergrund habe ich eine Waldszene gestaltet. Dafür habe ich erst ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Oxides Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire und Black Soot gewischt und den Bereich rund um den Mond mit Lost Shadow aufgehellt. Die glitzernden Sterne sind mit einem Glitter-Gelstift aufgemalt. 

Dann habe ich den Winter Forest Backdrop Landscape aus dunkelbraunem Cardstock ausgestanzt und auf den Himmel geklebt.

Außerdem habe ich aus hellbraunem Cardstock den Spooky Forest Backdrop ausgestanzt, die Bäume ein wenig mit Distress Ink Scorched Timber gewischt und dann das Stanzteil auseinander geschnitten. So hatte  ich zwei Bäume, einen für jede Seite meiner Karte. Die Überstände habe ich einfach weggeschnitten. 

Hinter die beiden größeren Bäume habe ich dann noch einen Boden aus mittelbraunem Cardstock aufgeklebt. 

 

In the background I created a wood scene. I first inked a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxides Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot and lightened  the area where I had planned to place  the moon with Lost Shadow. The glittery stars I drew on with a glitter gel pen. Then I die  cut the Winter Forest Backdrop Landscape from dark brown cardtock and glued it onto the sky.

I also die cut the Spooky Forest Backdrop from light brown cardstock, inked the trees with a bit of Distress Ink Scorched Timber and then cut the die cut apart. This way I ended up with two larger trees, one for  each side  of my card. I cut off any overhanging parts.

Behind the two larger parts I then added a ground cut from middle brown cardstock.

 

 

In der Mitte  meiner Karte befindet sich das Lebkuchenhaus aus dem schon erwähnten Gingerbread House aus dem neusten Release. Ich habe es, wie alle Teile auf der Karte, mit schwarzer Tinte gestempelt und mit Alkoholmarkern coloriert. 

Auf die Teile, die wie aus Zuckerguss aussehen sollten, habe ich dann weiße Plusterfarbe aufgetragen. Eigentlich wollte ich die gar nicht aufplustern, habe es dann aber doch getan. So ist die Zuckerschicht eben etwas dicker. Außerdem habe ich auf das Dach etwas Schneepulver aufgestreut. 

Rechts und links from Lebkuchenhaus führt eine Bonbon-Girlande zu dem Bäumen. Hier habe ich das Bonbon aus Purrfectly Wicked AddOn mehrfach aneinander gestempelt, nach dem Colorieren ausgeschnitten und hinter das Haus geklebt. Die Details  auf den Bonbons sind mit einem roten und weißen Gelstift gemacht.

 

In the center of my card I placed the gingerbread house from the already mentioned Gingerbread House stsamp set from the latest release. Like all the elements on this card I stamped it with black ink and colored  it with alcohol markers.

Onto the parts that I wanted to look like made from icing I applied some puff paste. Originally I hadn't planned to puff it up but then did it anyway. Now the icing is a bit thicker. I also added some snow powder to the roof. 

On the left and right side of the house there is a candy garland hung up between the house and the trees. I used the candy image from Purrfectly Wicked AddOn and stamped it several times next to each other. After coloring it and cutting it out I glued it behind the house. The details on the candies is made with a white and a red gel pen.

 

 Vor dem Haus stehen Hänsel und Gretel. Hänsel lässt sich schon einen Lebkuchenmann schmecken, während Gretel noch am Aussuchen ist. 

Im Gingerbread House AddOn gibt es jede Menge Lebkuchenmännchen, die perfekt zum Haus passen. Aber ich fand es etwas komisch, Lebkuchenmännchen ihre Brüder und Schwestern essen zu lassen. Und weil die  bekannte Zeile "knusper, knusper, knäuschen" im englisch "nibble, nibble, little mouse" heißt, habe ich stattdessen Mäuse als Figuren eingesetzt. Hänsel ist aus dem Set Sweet Christmas Mice, Gretel aus Merry Mice. Sie habe ich mit einer Schleife aus Sew Verry Mice ausgestattet.

Außerdem befinden sich hier unten neben und hinter dem Hause kleine Zuckerstangen und kleine Lebkuchenmännchen, alles aus dem Set A Creature Was Stirring. Die größeren Lebkuchenmänner kommen mit dem Lebkuchenhaus. 

Und weil ich für den Text dann wirklich keinen Stempel hatte - wobei ich das toll fände, auch auf deutsch! -, habe ich ihn einfach mit meinem Labelmaker geschrieben und unten quer über die Karte geklebt.

 

Hänsel and Gretel - I guess you all know the fairy tale by Brothers Grimm - are standing in front of the gingerbread house. Hänsel  is already munching on a gingerbread man while Gretel hasn't decided what to try first yet.

There are many gingerbread man in the Gingerbread House AddOn set but it felt wrong to let gingerbread men eat their brothers and sisters. And since the famous line from the tale goes "nibble, nibble, little mouse" in english I went with mice instead. Hänsel is from Sweet Christmas Mice, Gretel from Merry Mice. I gave her a bow from Sew Verry Mice.

There are also some more gingerbread men and candy canes down here at the bottom of the card, all from A Creature was Stirring. The larger gingerbread men come with the gingerbread house.

And because I really didn't have a stamp for the text - but would love one! - I simply printed it with my label maker and glued it across the card.

 

 

Und natürlich darf bei Hänsel und Gretel die Hexe nicht fehlen. Die kommt gerade auf ihrem Besen angeflogen. Sie ist aus dem Set Halloween Mice. Aus dem ist auch der Mond, den ich hinter dem Haus auf dem Himmel angeklebt habe.

Außerdem sitzen hier oben in den Zweigen kleine Lebkuchen-Vögel. Die sind aus den Winter Forest Backdrop Landscape und  Portrait Sets, aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und coloriert. Damit sie etwas  mehr wie Lebkuchen aussehen, habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift wellige Linien als Flügel aufgemalt. 

 

And of course a witch has to be in it when it comes to Hänsel and Gretel. She's  just flying in on her broom. She's from Halloween Mice. From this set is also the moon, that  I glued onto the sky right behind the gingerbread house.

There are also some gingerbread birds sitting in the branches of the trees. These are from Winter Forest Backdrop Portrait and Landscape, cut from white cardstock and colored in. To make them look more like gingerbread birds I used  a white gel pen to draw on some wiggly lines as wings.

 

 Ich habe dann 3D Tape zwischen die einzelnen Lagen der Karte gesetzt und um alles einen Rahmen aus mittelbraunem Cardstock gelegt. Der ist mit einer der Stitched Rectangel Frames Stanzen gemacht. 

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I put foam tape between the individual layers of the card and put a frame from middle brown cardstock around everything. I die cut that using one of the Stitched Rectangle Frame dies. 

At the end I glued the card panel onto a white note card.

 

Halloweenkarte in blut-rot

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Die Karten, die ich die ersten beiden Monate für das WhimsyStamps Halloweeners Team gemacht habe, waren ja doch eher auf der niedlichen Seite. Nun sieht es fast so aus, als würde meine etwas blutrünstigere Ader zum Vorschein kommen und ihren Anteil an den Halloweenkarten fordern. Und so ist die heutige Karte dann etwas gruseliger ausgefallen.

The card I made for the WhimsyStamps Halloweeners Team during the first two month of the Halloweeners term were all more on the cute side. It seems like my more bloodthirsty side comes out and is requesting its share of Halloween cards. And so today's card is more on the spooky side.

 

Wie so oft zu Halloween habe ich für den Hintergrund meine Distress Spray Stains hervorgeholt. Es gibt da diese Technik, die ich das erste Mal bei AmyR gesehen habe und mit der ganz einfach ein wunderbar gruseliger Mond-Hintergrund gestaltet werden kann. Nun, mir geraten die immer dunkler als eigentlich gewollt. Aber ein blutroter Mond, das passte doch.

Ich habe hier das Old Bridge Stanzenset verwendet und mit dem im Set enthaltenen Kreis  eine Mask gestanzt. Damit habe ich einen Teil des Himmels abmaskiert und dann den Rest des Cardstocks mit Distress Spray Stain Fired Brick, Seedless Preserves und Villainous Potion eingesprüht. Zwischendurch habe ich immer etwas Wasser mit aufgesprüht, damit die Farbe schön verläuft. 

Nach dem Trocknen habe ich die Maske abgezogen - ein wenig Farbe war darunter gelaufen, aber bei einer Halloween Karte muss der Mond nicht unbedingt ein perfekter Kreis sein. Nur auf den weißen Kreis habe ich dann etwas Wasser aufgesprüht. Das zieht die Farbe vom Rand des Kreises nach innen und sorgt für den super gruseligen Look. 

Dann habe ich rosafarbene Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt. 

Die Old Bridge habe ich dann aus schwarzem Cardstock ausgestanzt und vorsichtig das Fired Brick Oxide Kissen über den Cardstock gezogen.  Dadurch erhält das Stanzteil Struktur und passt besser zum roten Himmel dahinter.

 

As I do often just around Halloween I rought out my Distress Spray Stains to create the background. There's this technique that I've first seen at AmyR's YT channel and that makes it suepr easy to create a spooky moon scene. Well, mine always turn out darker than I had planned, but a bloody red moon seemes perfect.

I used the Old Bridge die set and cut  a circle mask using the circle die included in the set. I covered part of a piece of watercolor cardstock with the mask and then used Distress Spray Stain Fired Brick, Seedless Preserves and Villainous Potion to color the cardstock in. Inbetween I always added a bit of water to make the colors run into each other.

After the cardstock had dried I removed the mask - a bit of color had run under it but on a Halloween card it doesn't matter if the moon isn't a perfectly round circle. I sprayed a bit of water just onto the white moon. The water pulls the ink towards the center and creates that spooky look.

I then splattered some pink metallic watercolor onto the cardstock.

I then die cut the Old Bridge die from black cardstock and dragged my Fired Brick Oxide ink pad over the cardstock. It adds some structure and the bridge goes perfectly with the red sky behind it.

 

 Das  meiste ist am unteren Ende meiner Karte los. 

Im Old Bridge Stanzenset sind neben den Brücke selbst auch noch Stanzen enthalten, um Steine und Moos zu stanzen. Ich habe das Moos aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen olivgrünen Cardstocks gestanzt, für die Steine habe ich braun-grauen Cardstock benutzt. 

Außerdem habe ich das Stanzenset Mini Graves eingebaut. Damit sind die beiden grauen Flächen mit den schief stehenden Grabsteinen gemacht. Ich habe die größeren Stanzteile aus dunklem, die Grabsteine aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt. Darauf habe ich dann sowohl weiße als auch schwarze Acrylfarbe gespritzt, auf die Steine nur weiße. Außerdem habe ich ein Distress Ink Kissen in der Farbe Hickory Smoke über die Stanzteile gezogen, nur ganz leicht um sie ein wenig zu schattieren. 

Die kleinen Kürbisse - sind deren Gesichter nicht einfach zu genial? - sind aus dem Set Pumpkin and Mini Jacks. Ich habe sie aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und die Augen mit hellgrünem Cardstock hinterlegt, die Kürbisse sind mit dem Ground Espresso Kissen schattiert. 

Ich habe alle Teile zusammengesetzt und hinter die Bäume im Hintergrund noch einige übrig gebliebenen  Kürbisse hinter den Bäumen versteckt, so dass nur ein ganz klein wenig von ihnen zu sehen ist.

Und so eine Halloweenkarte kommt natürlich nicht ohne Gruselgestalten aus. Also habe  ich noch das Set Roaming Monsters verwendet und aus schwarzem Cardstock ausgestanzt. Quer über  die Brücke läuft eine Mumie. Damit sie wie eingewickelt aussieht, habe ich ein weißes Pigment-Stempelkissen leicht über den Cardstock gezogen und dann nur die Kante des Kissens in verschiedenen Richtungen auf die Mumie gedrückt. Das sieht dann tatsächlich aus wie gewickelte Binden. Und hinter den Grabsteinen rechts versteckt sich noch der Sensenmann. Habt Ihr ihn gesehen?

Unter der Brücke habe ich silbern schimmerndes Vellum als Wasser aufgeklebt. Und weil die  Fläche so leer wirkte, habe ich nur die Arme der Mumie ein weiteres Mal ausgestanzt und in einen kleinen Schlitz, den ich ins Vellum geschnitten habe, gesteckt. Es scheint, als würde da gerade jemand im Wasser ertrinken und hilfesuchend die Arme ausstrecken. 

 

Most of my scene I adhered to the bottom of the card.

Besides the bridge there are also dies to create some rocks and moss included in the Old Bridge die set. I die cut the moss from two different shades of olive green cardstock, for the rocks I used some gray-ish brown cardstock.

I also included the Mini Graves die set. It was used to create the larger grey areas with the crooked gravestones.  I die cut the larger pieces from dark, the gravestones from light grey cardstock, then splattered black and white acrylic paint onto the pieces, adding just white to the rocks as well. I also dragged the Distress Ink Hickory Smoke pad over the cardstock to just shade it lightly. 

The small pumpkins - I just love their faces! - are from Pumpkin and Mini Jacks. I die cut them from red cardstock, shaded them with the Ground Espresso ink pad and backed the eyes with lime green cardstock.

 I put all the pieces together and added some of the left over pumpkins behind the trees, only letting small pieces of them be visible. 

And of course a Halloween card needs some spooky creatures. I used the Roaming Monsters set and die cut it from black cardstock. There's a mummy walking across the bridge. To make it appear like wrapped in cloth I dragged a white pigment ink pad over the cardstock and then pressed just the edge of the ink pad onto the cardstock, turning it in different directions. Now it really looks like the mummy is wrapped in cloth. And behind the gravestones on the right side the Grim Reaper is hiding. Did you see him?

Under the bridge I placed some silver shimmer vellum as water. And because the area looked too plain I only cut the arms of the mummy again and put them through a little slit I had cut into the vellum. It looks, like a drowning person is holding up arms, hoping for help. 

 

 Am Himmel meiner Karte ist dann nicht mehr sehr viel los. Der Mond wird rechts und links von den Kronen der Bäume des Old Bridge Stanzteils eingerahmt, auf den Mond habe ich dann nur noch eine Hexe, ebenfalls aus Roaming Monsters, geklebt. 

Eigentlich wollte ich einen Text auf der Karte anbringen, aber irgendwie hat er mir an keiner Stelle gefallen. Und so spricht die Szene für sich...

 

There's not much going on in the sky of my card. The moon is framed by the top of the trees from the Old Bridge die cut, onto the moon I just placed a witch on her broom, that's again from Roaming Monsters.

Originally I had planned to add a text to my card, but I didn't like it in any spot. So I skipped it and the scene tells its own story. 

 

 Ich habe die Grabsteine samt Steinen und Kürbissen mit dünnem 3D Tape auf die Old Bridge geklebt und dann auch die mit dem dünnen Tape auf dem Hintergrund befestigt. 

Ich weiß nicht, ob Ihr es sehen könnt, aber mein Himmel schimmert/glitzert auch noch recht toll. Ich habe immer ein Stück Küchentuch in meiner Splatter-Box, das die übrige Farbe aufsaugt. Das tausche ich eher selten aus - und es hat auch schon einiges and glitzernden Sprays aufgesaugt. Ohne daran zu denken, habe ich mit dem Tuch einige größere Farbpfützen auf dem Hintergrund aufgesaugt und somit den Schimmer auf meine Karte übertragen. Das war zwar überhaupt nicht geplant, gefällt  mir aber super.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann nur noch alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

 

I adhered the gravestones with the rocks and the pumpkins with thin foam tape to the Old Bridge and then used the same tape to glue the bridge onto the background.

I  have no idea if you can see it on the pictures but the sky on my card shimmers/glitters. I always have  a paper towel in my splatter box to soak up any excess ink. I very seldomly change it and so it also has soaked up quite some shimmer sprays. Without thinking of that I used the  paper towel to soak up some larger puddles of ink from the background and transfered some of the glitter onty my cardstock. I really hadn't planned that but love the look this "happy accident" adds.

As a last step I just glued the card panel to a white note card.

Nachdem ich letzte Woche nicht zu Hause war und somit bei Craft Roulette aussetzen musste - und das ausgerechnet am World Cardmaking Day! - bin ich dieses Wochenende wieder dabei. Die Parameter lauten dieses Mal:

After having to sit out last week - and that on World Cardmaking Day! - I am able to join Craft Roulette again this weekend. The parameters of episode #340 are:

Nun, da ich gerade erst von einem einwöchigen Mädelstrip auf Ischia in Italien zurückgekommen bin, waren diese Parameter gerade richtig für mich. Und ich denke, man merkt, dass ich immer noch im Italien-Modus bin. Der hat meine Karte nämlich ziemlich beeinflusst...

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstock, das ich etwas kleiner als A7, also 5" x 7", groß ist. Ich habe den Himmel mit Distress Inks Tumbled Glass und Salty Ocean, das Meer darunter mit Salvaged Patina und Mermaid Lagoon gewischt. Die Farben des Himmels und des Wassers sind recht ähnlich und so sieht  man den Übergang  der beiden Bereiche  eher schwer. Aber ein paar mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalte Wellenlinien machen es etwas besser.

Am unteren Rand des Cardstocks habe ich dann einen Streifen hellen Graspapiers aufgeklebt. Das hat schon  so eine sandähnliche Struktur. Ich habe die obere Kante ein wenig mit Salvaged Patina, die  untere mit Scorched Timber schattiert. 

Auf der linken Seite  habe ich dann  noch eine Insel ins Meer gesetzt. Sie ist mit einer Berge-Stanze aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt, am unteren Rand  habe ich kleine grüne Pflanzenteile aufgeklebt, damit die Insel mehr zu bieten hat als nur Felsen. 

 

I just came home from a one week girls' trip to Ischia in Italy, so these parameters were perfect for me. And I think you can tell that I am still in Italy mood, it influenced my card design quite a lot...

The background is made from a piece of white cardstock that I cut slightly smaller than A7. I inked  the sky with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean, the ocean with Salvaged Patina and Mermaid Lagoon. The colors of the water and sky are pretty similar so it's hard to tell where one ends and the other starts. A few ripples on the water, drawn on with a white gel pen, help a bit.

At the bottom of the cardstock I glued on a strip of light grass paper. It already has a grey sand like look. I inked the top edge with a bit of Salvaged Patina, the bottom with some Scorched Timber. 

On the left side I also put a small island in the ocean. It's made from light grey cardstock using a mountain border die, along the bottom edge I glued on small pieces of greenery so this island has a bit more to offer than just rocks.

 

 Hauptelement meiner Karte ist der Tafelaufsteller von Spellbinders. Er ist aus dem Set Pink Lemonade Stand. Ich habe die Tafel aus schwarzem, den Rahmen aus hellbraunem Cardstock gestanzt. Auf die Tafel habe ich etwas Anti Static Powder aufgewischt und nur leicht wieder abgewischt. Die Ränder  des Rahmens sind mit etwas Scorched Timber schattiert. 

Auf der Tafel stehen die Kaffee-Spezialitäten, die heute im Angebot sind: espresso, latte und coffee. Die sind mit dem Coffe Words Set von SugarPea Designs aus Vellum gestanzt. Hier war es mir relativ egal, dass man den Kleber durch das Vellum sieht, ich finde, so wirkt die Schrift eher wie mit einer Kreide geschrieben. 

Über der Schrift hängt eine Girlande mit drei Bannern, die  ich in den Farben der italienischen Flagge gestanzt habe. Darüber habe ich ein Stück weißes Twine angeklebt und rechts und links jeweils eine kleine Schleife angeklebt. 

Und über dem Banner kleben drei rote Herzen. 

 

Main element on my card is this board by Spellbinders. It's from Pink Lemonade Stand. I die cut the board from black, the frame from light brown cardstock. Onto the board I put down some anti static powder and only removed it slightly. The edges of the frame I shaded with Scorched Timber.

On the board there are today's coffee offers listed: espresso, latte, coffee. I die cut these from vellum using the Coffee Words set by SugarPea Designs. I  didn't care that you can see the glue through the vellum here, actually I think that makes it look even more like the words are written with chalk.

Above the text there's a garland with three banners, that I cut the colors of the italian flag. I glued a piece of white twine along the top edges of the banner and added small bows to both ends. 

And above the banners I added three red hearts.

 

 Und natürlich durfte vor dieser Tafel dann ein Kaffee nicht fehlen! Ich habe hier das Stovetop Set von HeroArts benutzt. 

Die Cafetiera ist aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt, Griff und Knopf am Deckel aus schwarzem Glossy Cardstock. Die Tasse habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alkoholmarkern ganz hell blau schattiert. 

Die Kaffeebohnen, die zusammen mit den Worten kommen, sind aus dunkelbraunem Cardstock gemacht. Und weil mir für den Regenbogen der Farbvorgabe - wobei nicht zwingend alle Farben des Regenbogens eingebaut werden müssen - noch lila fehlte und auf Ischia überall die Bougainvilles geblüht haben, habe ich noch einige kleine Blüten-Cluster aufgeklebt. die sind aus zwei Sets der Estate Italiana Reihe von Charlie und Paulchen. Die Blütenmitten habe ich mit einem goldenen Gelstift gemacht. 

Cafetiera und Tasse habe ich jeweils mit einem roten Herz dekoriert.  

 

 And of course there had to be some coffee in front of that board. I used the Stovetop set by HeroArts here. 

The Cafetiera - that's what this kind of coffee "machine" is called - is cut from matte silver metallic cardstock, the handle and knob on top of the lid I cut from black glossy cardstock. The cup I cut from white cardstock and very softly shaded it a light blue with alcohol markers.

The coffee beans, that come in the same set as the words, are cut from dark brown cardstock. And because I was missing purple from the rainbow colors - allthough you don't have to use all of them - and because there were Bougainville blooming everywhere on Ischia I added some small flower clusters. Those are from two sets of the Estate Italiana series by Charlie und Paulchen. The flower centers I drew on with a gold gel pen.

I decorated the cafetiera and the cup with a small red heart.

 

 Am Himmel hinter der Tafel scheint die  Sonne. Sie ist aus Vellum und einem hellgelben Kreis zusammengesetzt. Außerdem habe ich mit Versafine Clair Nocturne noch Vögel aus dem Life is Good Set von LawnFawn auf den Himmel gestempelt.

Und auch hier oben befindet sich eine Blume hinter der linken Ecke der Tafel. 

 

The sun is shining brightly in the sky, right behind the board. I put it together using vellum and a light yellow circle.  I also stamped some birds from Life is Good by LawnFawn onto the sky using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. 

And there's another flower cluster tucked behind the left top corner of the board.

 

 Da die Karte aus doch ein paar Lagen besteht, habe ich nur die Cafetiera mit dünnem, die Tasse mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Die unteren Ecken der Banner habe ich mit dem Finger etwas nach oben gebogen. 

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling in A7-Größe geklebt.

 

Since the card is made from quite  a few layers I only backed the cafetiera with thin, the cup with thick foam tape. I used my fingernails to bend up the tips of the banners. 

Then I glued the card panel onto a white A7 sized card base.

 

Und zum Schluss wie immer der Parameter-Check:

Rainbow Colors: bis auf orange habe ich alle Farben des Regenbogens untergebracht, wenn auch nicht in der klassischen Anordnung.

Vacation: die Karte ist sehr von meiner gerade beendeten Reise nach Ischia beeinflusst.

Wohin mit den Besen...?

Die Idee zu meiner heutigen Halloweenkarte kam mir, als  ich ein Bild mit aufgereihten Besen gesehen hatte. Und also ich dann auch noch an die Verkehrsschildstanze gedacht habe, die ich mir vor kurzem gekauft hatte, hatte ich diese Karte vor Augen.

I got the idea for this card when I saw a picture with some brooms, all put up in row. When I remembered the traffic sign die, that I ordered a little ago, I had this card design popping up in my head.

 

Tja, es sieht ganz so aus, als wären die Hexen in den letzten Vorbereitungen für Halloween. Ob sie gemeinsam beim Shoppen sind oder gemütlich in einer Hexenbar sitzen, weiß ich nicht. Aber ihre Besen haben sie ordnungsgemäß auf dem dafür vorgesehenen  Platz geparkt...

Der Hintergrund besteht hier aus hellgrauem Cardstock, den ich mit Distress Ink Hickory Smoke und Black Soot schattiert habe. Mit grauer Tinte habe ich dann Mauersteine aus dem  Spring Window Stempelset von SweetNovemberStamps auf den Cardstock aufgestempelt und sie leicht mit einem grauen Marker schattiert.

Im unteren Bereich habe ich dann einen Streifen dunkelgrauen Cardstocks aufgeklebt, den ich mit Black Soot gewischt habe. 

Auf beide Lagen habe ich dann schwarze, auf die Mauer zusätzlich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

It looks like the witches are nearly ready for Halloween. I have no idea if they went on a shopping trip together or are just enjoying some nice drinks in a nearby bar. But they parked their brooms correctly in the designated broom parking area...

The background is made from a piece  of light grey cardstock, that I shaded with Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. I used grey ink to stamp some bricks from the Spring Window stamp set by SweetNovemberStamps onto the wall and shaded them with a dark grey marker. 

Along the bottom edge of the cardstock I adhered a strip of dark grey cardstock that I have inked with Black Soot.

I splattered black, and only onto the wall also white acrylic paint onto the cardstock.

 

 Habt Ihr schon mal ein solches Verkehrsschild gesehen? Wenn nicht, dann solltet Ihr rund um Halloween mal die Augen offen halten...

Das Schild ist mit dem Traffic Set von  MarianneDesign gemacht. Man kann damit verschiedene Schilder erstellen - hier wurde es natürlich das Parkplatzschild. Und für Hexen ist das natürlich nicht blau, sondern lila. 

Das weiße Schild darunter, das nur das Parken von Besen erlaubt, ist mit dem größeren der Schildteile gemacht. Ich habe es per Partial Die Cutting verlängert, so dass das Besenmotiv und das Wort only darunter draufpassten. Der Besen ist aus dem Plan on It Spring Cleaning Set von LawnFawn, das kleine only darunter Teil eines Textes aus dem Set So Fry-Tastic von Concord and 9th. Beides habe ich schwarz aufgestempelt und einen Rahmen mit einem lilafarbenen Glazepen aufgemalt. Beide Schilder habe ich dann ebenfalls mit feinen Spritzern schwarzer  Acrylfarbe versehen.

Die Stange des Verkehrsschilds habe ich aus schwarzem Glossy Cardstock gestanzt. 

Am unteren Schild habe ich dann noch eine Spinnwebe angeklebt.

 

Have you ever seen a traffic sign like this? If not, you should keep an eye out for them around Halloween time...

The sign I made using the Traffic set by MarianneDesign. You can make different traffic signs with it, in my case of course I turned it into a parking sign. And for witches these aren't blue but purple.

The white sign under it, that only allows parking brooms here, is made using the larger die of the square sign. I made it taller by doing some partial diecutting to make the broom image and word only fit onto it. The broom is from Plan on It Spring Cleaning by LawnFawn, the word only part of a text from So Fry-Tastic by Concord and 9th. I stamped both with black ink and drew a frame with a purple glaze pen around them. Then I added fine splatteres of black acrylic paint to both signs, too.

To the lower sign I glued a spider web.

 

 Und dann habe ich meine Stanzensets nach Besenstanzen durchsucht. Die mussten auch noch von der Größe her zumindest etwas zusammenpassen. Bei dem zweiten von links, der aus dem Set Toil  and Trouble  von HoneyBeeStamps ist, habe ich den Stiel ein wenig verkürzt. Die übrigen Besen sind von MarianneDesign, Gummiapan und LawnFawn. Ich habe alle aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Aloholmarkern coloriert. 

Tja, und so wie Autofahrer Plüschwürfel an den Rückspiegel hängen, dekorieren auch Hexen ihre Besen ganz nach individuellem Geschmack. Da finden sich Bänder an den Stielen, Schleifen (Concord and 9th), Sterne (Sizzix), herabhängende Gespenster (Memorybox) und Mäuse (Sizzix), Knochen (HoneyBeeStamps), Fledermäuse (Sizzix) - und zwei der Hexen haben für die bessere Sicht nachts sogar Laternen (LawnFawn) an den Besen angebracht. Ich habe hier verschiedene kleine Stanzenmotive diverser Hersteller kombiniert und einfach alles, was zu Halloween und auf die Besen passte, hinzugefügt. Die Teile sind aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt. Auf einem der Besen sitzt auch noch ein Rabe (Sizzix), den ich aus schwarzem Glossy Cardstock  gestanzt habe.  Außerdem habe ich Schleifen aus verschiedenen Farben Twine angebracht.

Und weil zwischen den beiden mittleren Besen so ein großer leerer Platz war, habe ich dort ganz zum Schluss noch eine schwarze Katze aus dem Postage Collage Cats Silhouettes von WaffleFlower aufgeklebt. Sie trägt eine lilafarbene Schleife, so dass man sie ein klein wenig besser erkennen kann.

 

And then I went through my dies, looking for broom dies, that also had to have at least nearly the same size. I had to shorten the stick of the second from the left broom, that is from Toil and Trouble by  HoneyBeeStamps, a bit to make it work with the other brooms. These are from Marianne Design, Gummiapan and LawnFawn. I die cut them all from white cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers. 

Well, just like car drivers hang plush dice to their rearview mirrors, witches like to decorate their brooms just after their own taste. There are ribbons wrapped around the sticks, bows (Concord and 9th), stars (Sizzix), dangling ghosts (Memorybox) and mice (Sizzix), bones (HoneyBeeStamps), bats (Sizzix) - and two witches even tied lanterns (LawnFawn) to their broom sticks to see better in the dark of the night. I combined a bunch of small dies here, that looked Halloween-ish and fit the brooms. I die cut those pieces from colored cardstock. There's a crow by Sizzix sitting on the stick of one of the brooms. That I die cut from glossy cardstock again. I also added bows from different colors of twine.

And because there was this large gap between the second and third broom I glued a black cat from Postage Collage Cats Silhouettes by WaffleFlower down there at the end. She's wearing a purple bow so it is a bit better visible. 

 

Das Parkplatzschild habe ich dann noch mit einem übrig gebliebenen goldenen Stern dekoriert. In der oberen rechten Ecke der Karte habe ich ein weiteres Spinnennetz samt Spinne aufgeklebt.

Und dann habe ich hier den Text der Karte auf die Mauer gestempelt. Eigentlich wollte ich einen Cardstockstreifen am unteren Ende der Karte aufkleben, dafür hat dann aber der Platz doch nicht gereicht - deswegen habe ich dort dann auch die Katze angebracht. Stattdessen habe ich mit Versafine Clair Nocturne einen Text, zusammengesetzt aus Stempeln aus dem Halloween Mice Set von LawnFawn, direkt auf den Hintergrund gestempelt ujnd mit einem feinen weißen Gelstift Highlights angemalt. Das sieht nun so aus, als hätte das eine Hexe auf die Mauer geschrieben - oder gehext?

 

The parking lot sign I decorated with a left over golden star. Onto the top right corner of the card I added another spiderweb with a spider.

And then I stamped the text of my card onto the wall. I orginally had planned to add a text strip along the bottom edge of the card, but there wasn't enough space for that. That's why I added the cat there later. So instead of the text strip I stamped my text, put together with stamps from Halloween Mice by LawnFawn, with Versafine Clair Nocturne directly onto the wall and used a fine white gel pen to draw a highlight around it. Now it looks like a witch wrote the text onto the wall - or did she do it with a spell?

 

  Ich habe hier das Schild und die  oberen Enden  der Besen direkt  auf den Hintergrund geklebt, die unteren Teile der  Besen und  die Katze sind mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I glued the sign and the top ends of the broom sticks directly onto the background, the bottoms of the brooms and the cat I adhered with foam tape.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.
