Interaktive Koi-Karte

Heute zeige ich Euch eine weitere Karte mit dem neusten Release von ScrappyTails. Diesmal habe ich, neben anderen Produkten, das Koi-Stempelset samt passenden Stencils benutzt.

Today I am sharing with you another card using the latest release by ScrappyTails. This time, besides some other products, I used the Koi stamp set and the matching stencils.

 

Eigentlich war das hier als ganz einfache Karte gedacht. Aber dann kam eins zum anderen und so ist letztendlich eine interaktive Karte entstanden.

Als Aufleger habe ich die Pond Cover Stanze benutzt und sie aus Acetate ausgestanzt. Eigentlich wollte ich hellblaue Folie benutzen, die hat aber die Farben der Motive darunter zu sehr abgedunkelt. Also habe ich durchsichtige Folie verwendet. Sorry, die spiegelt auf den Bildern leider stellenweise ein wenig. 

Die Seerosen und -blätter habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Und weil die Folie doch recht dünn war - ich habe heat resistant verwendet, denn eigentlich sollte der Text aufembosst werden - habe ich die kleinen Stanzteile aufgedoppelt. Da sie überall auf dem See verteilt sind, stabilisieren sie die Folie etwas.

Die eingestanzten Wasserlinien habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift nachgemalt. 

Darunter befindet sich eine Lage hellblauen Cardstocks, auf den ich mit Distress Ink Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers und Uncharted Mariner das Wassermuster aufgewischt habe. Dafür habe ich die  Water Bubbles Stencils verwendet. Ich habe eine der Lagen - Lage 4 - ausgelassen und außerdem die Blasen, die mit dem Stencil 5 im Set aufgewischt werden können, nicht benutzt. So wäre mir der Hintergrund zu unruhig geworden. Nach dem Aufwischen der einzelnen Farben habe ich alles mit etwas Salvaged Patina etwas verblendet und Wassertropfen auf der Tinte verteilt. 

 

 I had planned to do a pretty simple card. But then I had an idea, that led to another one and I ended up with an interactive card.

For the top I used the Pond Cover die and cut it from acetate. Originally I wanted to use blue acetate, but that changed the colors of the images underneath too much. So I used clear one. Sorry, it reflects a bit in the pictures. 

The lily pads and water lilies I die cut from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. And because the foil was pretty thin - I used heat resistant one because I had planned to heat emboss the text onto it - I doubled the plants up. Since they are scattered all over the pond they kind of stabilize the acetate.

I used a white gel pen to trace the ripples that get cut into the water.

In the very back I added a layer of light blue cardstdock, that I added the water pattern to using Distress Ink Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner. I did the water with the Water Bubbles stencil set, skipping layer #4 and the bubbles layer. They would have made the background too busy here. After inking the different stencils I used Salvaged Patina again to blend the colors together a bit and also spritzed some droplets of water onto the cardstock.

 

 Hauptakteur auf der Karte ist der große Koi. Der ist mit eines der Motive aus dem Good Fortune Set, coloriert mit den dazugehörigen Good Fortune Stencils. Die sind auch ohne die Stempel zu benutzen, ich finde aber die Outlines schön dazu. Allerdings wollte ich sie nicht zu intensiv haben und habe daher das Jellyfish Stempelkissen von LawnFawn zum Abstempeln benutzt. 

Die einzelnen Elemente des Fischs habe ich mit Distress Ink Antique Linen, Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire und Black Soot gewischt und dann mit einem weißen Gelstift Glitzerpunkte auf den Fischrücken gemalt. Die habe ich dann noch mit Stickles beglittert. 

Anschließend habe ich den Fisch mit dem dazugehörigen Outline-Stanzenset ausgestanzt. Und damit der Fisch durch den weißen Rand nicht zu sehr wie ein Fehlkörper wirkt, habe ich ihn mit türkisfarbenen Copics kaschiert.

Eigentlich wollte ich den Fisch nur unter der Wasseroberfläche ankleben. Aber dann kam mir die Idee, dass es doch toll wäre, wenn der Fisch tatsächlich schwimmen würde - langsam und würdevoll, wie es Kois nun mal tun. Deswegen habe ich einen Slider mit eingebaut. Und das sieht dann so aus:

 

Main element on my card is the large Koi. It's one of the images from the Good Fortune stamp set, colored with the matching Good Fortune stencils. Those can be used without the stamps, too, but I liked the outlines. I didn't want to have those too prominent and so I used the Jellyfish ink pad by LawnFawn to stamp the image.

I used Distress Ink Antique Linen, Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire and Black Soot to color the different elements of the fish. Then I added some reflections to his back and covered these with just a bit of Stickles. 

Then I cut the image out with the matching outline dies. To make sure the white edge around the fish doesn't make him look like doesn't belong there I used some aqua Copics to camouflage it.

Originally I had planned to adhere the fish on top of the inked water, under the pond layer But then I thought that it might be nice to actually have the fish swimming around - slowly and majestically like Kois do. And so I turned him into a slider element. This is what the fish looks like swimming: 

 

Ich habe mit einer Slider-Tunnel Stanze, ich glaube von MFT, einen breiteren, gebogenen Schlitz in den Wasserhintergrund gestanzt und dort ein Stück 3D-Tape  hineingesteckt. Oben auf dem 3D Tape ist der Fisch angeklebt, an der Unterseite habe ich einen Cardstock-Kreis angeklebt. Bewegt wird der Fisch mit einem Streifen Acetate, den ich unter dem Kreis angebracht und rechts über den Kartenrand hinausragen habe lassen. 

 

I used a slider tunnel die, I think it's by MFT, to cut a wider, rounded slit into the water background, then put a piece of foam tape through it. On top of the 3D tape I adhered the fish, to the back I glued a cardstock circle. To move the fish I glued a strip of acetate to the back of the circle, the end goes over the edge of the card so it can be grabbed.

 

Damit sich der große Fisch nicht einsam fühlt, habe ich ihm noch einige Freunde mit auf die Karte geklebt. Die sind mit dem Mini Koi Fish Stanzenset gemacht. Nun sind die Fische in dem Set zwar nicht wirklich mini, aber doch um einiges kleiner als der große Koi auf meiner Karte. Deswegen habe ich sie ausgestanzt, mit Copics coloriert und dann mit einer Lage hellen türkis übermalt. So wirken sie so, als würden sie tiefer im Wasser schwimmen, wodurch das Größenverhältnis stimmt. Auch hier habe ich ein wenig Stickles auf den Fischrücken aufgetragen. 

Mittig auf die Teichlage aus Folie habe ich dann meinen Text angebracht - der passt super genau in die Mitte der kleinen Wellen. Wie schon erwähnt, wollte ich ihn eigentlich aufembossen. Das hatte ich auch probiert, auf Acetate läuft aber das Embossingpulver ein wenig und der Text war nicht lesbar, weil er doch eher klein ist. Zum Glück konnte ich das Embosste vorsichtig wieder abkratzen - der Hintergrund war zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits komplett fertig. Dann habe ich den Text, der übrigens auch aus dem Good Fortune Stempelset ist, mit weißem StazOn aufgestempelt. 

 

To make sure the fish doesn't feel lonely I added a few friends to the card. I made those using the Mini Koi Fish die set. Well, the fish in this set are not really "mini", but a lot smaller than the large Koi on my card. So I cut them out, colored them with Copics and then covered them completly with a layer of light aqua color. Now they look like they are swimming deeper down in the water and their size work with the largeone. Again I added some Stickles to the fish's back.

Onto the center of the pond layer, the one made from acetate, I added my text - it fits perfectly into the center of those ripples. As I mentioned earlier I had planned to white heat embossed the text onto the acteate. I actually did that, but somehow the embossing powder seems to run a bit on acetate and the text wasn't legible since it's quite fine/small. Luckily I was able to carefully scrape off the embossed text - of course I did the text as the last step and the rest of the background was already completly done. Then I used white StazOn to stamp the text onto the acetate. The text comes again in the Good Fortune stamp set.  

 

 Um dem Fisch genug Bewegungsfreiheit zu geben - seine Flossen tendieren dazu, sich in den eingestanzten Wellen einzuhaken - und für den Slider Mechanismus habe ich die Karte mit 3D Tape zusammengesetzt. Ich habe zwei Lagen zwischen Acetate und Wasserhintergrund sowie eine Lage hinter dem hellblauen Cardstock angebracht. Den ausgestanzten Streifen im Slider-Tunnel habe ich an der passenden Stelle auf den Kartenrohling, auf den ich alles geklebt habe, angebracht. Beim Festkleben des dekorierten Cardstocks habe ich entlang der rechten Kante der Karte das Schutzpapier vom 3D Tape nicht abgezogen, damit der Folienstreifen, mit dem der Fisch schwimmt, beweglich bleibt.

Und weil man durch das Acetate natürlich das 3D Tape hindurchgesehen hat, habe ich aus türkisfarbenem Cardstock noch einen Rahmen geschnitten und aufgeklebt. Der Pond Cover ist tatsächlich 5 x 7 Inch groß - so eine große Rahmenstanze hatte ich nicht. Also habe ich den Rahmen einfach mit meinem Papierschneider gemacht. 

 

To give the fish enough room - his fins tend to get stuck in the ripples cut into the water - and for the slider mechanism I used foam tape to  put the card together. I put two layers between the acetate and the water background and once layer behind the blue cardstock. I glued the piece I cut out of the background for the slider in the right place onto a white note card, that I glued the card panel onto. When glueing the panel to the card base I did leave on the backing paper on the foam tape along the right edge of the card to make sure, the acetate strip, that is used to make the fish swim, can still be moved. 

And since you would be able to see the foam tape through the acetate I cut a frame from aqua cardstock and glued it on. The Pond Cover is 5 x 7 - I don't have a frame die that large. So I simply used my paper cutter to cut it.

Achtung, eine Warnung vorweg: bei dieser Karte ist meine alberne Seite mit mir durchgegangen... Und ich hoffe sehr, niemand nimmt mir das krumm. Aber ich bin die Idee nicht mehr losgeworden. 

Diese Karte ist für die IG Challenge von SimonSaysStamp entstanden. Das Thema lautet "things with wings". Nun habe ich im ersten Moment natürlich, wie wohl alle, an Schmetterlinge gedacht. Bienen, Libellen, Flugzeuge, Vögel. Bei Vögel kamen mir dann Hühner in den Sinn und irgendwie hat mein - manchmal etwas krankes - Hirn die Hühner, also chicken, mit dem "wings" aus der Aufgabe kombiniert und ich hatte Chicken Wings im Kopf. Tja, und so sind die "Dinge", die hier mit den Wings in Verbindung stehen, eben Pommes und BBQ Sauce... 

Im Nachhinein finde ich die Idee selbst so doof, dass ich wirklich versucht bin, noch eine "richtige" Karte für die Challenge zu machen.

A warning beforehand: when I made this card my silly side took over.... And I really hope no one is offended by how I approached the challenge. But I wasn't able to forget this idea.

I made this card for the IG challenge by SimonSaysStamp. The theme is "things with wings". Of course - like probably most - I first tought of butterflies, bees, dragnflies, airplanes, birds. When I thought of birds I came up with chickens. And somehow my silly brain must have connected "chicken" with the word "wings" from the theme and all I was able to think of was "chickenwings". Well, and so the "things", that come with my wings, are fries and BBQ sauce...

In hindsight I think myself, that this is a totally dumb idea and I am really tempted to make another card where I use the theme as it was intended. 

 

Der Hintergrund besteht hier aus einem Stück grün-weiß karierten Designpapiers von LawnFawn. Das sah so schön nach Tischdecke aus. 

 

The background is made from a piece of white and green checkered patterned paper by LawnFawn. It reminded me of a table cloth. 

 

 Die Pommes auf meiner Karte sind aus dem So Fry-Tastic Set von Kristina Werner/Concord and 9th. Bei den Wings musste ich dann schon etwas kreativ werden, denn da habe ich natürlich keine passende Stanze - und ich glaube auch nicht, dass es da was gibt. Also habe ich meine Stanzen nach passenden Formen gesucht und bin bei Magnolia fündig geworden: Die gebogenen Wings sind eigentlich eine Chili-Schote, die eher nach Nuggets aussehenden Hähnchenteile sind mit Rübenstanzen gemacht. Das Grün habe ich jeweils weggelassen. 

Ich habe die Teile aus gelbem bzw. hellbraunem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Ohuhu Markern und Polychromos coloriert. Die Chicken Wings sollten so aussehen, als wären sie dick mit karamellisierter Sauce überzogen. 

Nach dem Colorieren habe ich auf die Pommes etwas Distress Ink Vinage Photo, auf die Wings Aged Mahogany ganz fein aufgespritzt. Außerdem habe ich die Sauce auf den Wings mit Glossy Accents überzogen. 

Der Teller ist einfach mit Kreisstanzen gemacht und besteht aus einem Kreis mit oben aufgeklebtem, größerem Ring. Die Teile habe ich ein wenig grau schattiert und auf den Tellerrand kleine grüne Blümchen von LawnFawn aufgestempelt. Zwischen die Chicken Wings habe ich dann noch etwas Sauce aufgemalt, der weiße Teller darunter sah komisch aus.

Ganz zum Schluss fehlte mir unten links etwas auf der Karte. Und auch wenn man Chicken Wings und Pommes eher mit den Fingern isst, habe ich Besteck aufgeklebt. Das ist mit richtig alten Stanzen von Whiff of Joy aus silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock gemacht. 

 

The fries on my card are from So Fry-Tastic by Kristina Werner/Concord and 9th. For the wings I had to think outside the box. Of course I don't have dies for those and I don't think, that there excist some. So I went through my dies looking for something with the right shape and was able to find something by Magnolia: The bended wings are made with a chili die, the ones that look more like nuggets are made with a beet root die. I just left out the green parts on all the elements.

I cut the pieces from yellow and light brown cardstock and shaded them with Ohuhu markers and Polychromos. I wanted the chicken wings to look like they are covered in some yummy, caramelized sauce. 

After coloring the pieces I  added very fine splatters - Distress Ink Vintage Photo to the fries, Aged Mahogany to the wings. I also put some Glossy Accents onto the sauce on the wings.

The plate is simply made with circle dies. I used a circle and put a larger ring, made from more circle dies, on top. I shaded the pieces a soft grey and stamped small green flowers by LawnFawn onto the edge of the plate. Between the chicken wings I also added some more sauce - the white of the plate looked strange between the wings.

When I had nearly fnished the card I felt like there was something missing at the bottom right. I know that wings and fries are most likely eaten with your fingers, but I still added some cutlery. I made these from silver mirror cardstock using some very old dies by Whiff of Joy. 

 

 Oben rechts auf der Karte habe ich ein kleines Schüsselchen mit BBQ Sauce aufgeklebt. Die Schüssel ist wieder mit Kreisstanzen gemacht, den Rand habe ich hier grün coloriert. Die Sauce darin ist wieder von Magnolia - ich glaube, eigentlich ist es Butter, die auf einen Toast gehört. Ich habe sie aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt, schattiert und wieder mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

Tja, und dann musste ich natürlich auch beim Text noch ein Wortspiel einbauen.... Ich habe hier ein "hungry" aus einem Yeti-Set von Impronte d'Autore mit einem Fragezeichen versehen. Darunter steht dann "just wing by" - natürlich angelehnt an "just swing by". Die gestempelten kleinen Worte sind aus dem Set Scootin' By by LawnFawn, die Buchstaben für das Wort Wing sind mit dem Henry's ABCs Stanzenset, ebenfalls von LawnFawn, aus schwarzem Cardstock gemacht. Die gestempelten Textteile sind weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

 

On the top right of the card I added a small bowl with some BBQ sauce. The bowl I made from circle dies again, this time I colored the brim green. The sauce in it is again made with a die by Magnolia - I believe, originally it is meant to be butter, that goes on a toast die cut. I cut it from red cardstock, shaded it and covered it with Glossy Accents. 

Well, and then I also had to add a pun... I added a question mark behind the word "hungry" from a set by Impronte d'Autore. Under it I wrote "just wing by" - of course meant to be "just swing by". The small words are from Scootin' By by LawnFawn, the letters for the word "wing" is made using the Henry's ABCs die set, also by LawnFawn. I cut these from black cardstock, the stamped texts are white heat embossed onto black cardstock. 

 

 Den Tellerrand habg ich mit dünnem, die Saucenschüssel und das Wort hungry mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Neben Teller und Schüssel habe ich mit einem grauen Marker einen Schatten auf das Designpapier im Hintergrund gemalt.  

Dann habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt. 

 

I backed the edge of the plate with thin, the sauce bowl and the word hungry with thick foam tape. Then I used a grey marker to draw a shadow next to the bowl and plate, drawing it directly onto the patterned paper in the background.  

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

Ich weiß nicht, ob Ihr die Just Add Cake Box von Spellbinders gesehen habt, momentan gibt es dafür ja so einige Videos. Und ich bin da immer ganz schnell Opfer und muss es haben. Jetzt war es aber so, dass mir zwei der Stanzensets nicht so gut gefallen haben und bevor ich vorschnell auf "kaufen" geclickt habe, habe ich erstmal überlegt, wie oft ich die Stanzen denn benutzen würde - und ob ich eine ähnliche Karte nicht mit Sachen machen könnte, die ich schon habe. Das ist nämlich momentan eins meiner Ziele - nutzen, was ich schon habe, anstatt neu zu kaufen. Und so ist diese "spritzige" Geburtstagskarte entstanden. 

 

Hello everyone!

I don't know if you've seen the Just Add Cake Box by Spellbinders, there quite a few videos out there. And I am pretty quick with "need it, buy it". But I didn't like two of the die sets in the kit and before I hit the buy button I thought about, if I can make something similar with stuff I already own. That's a goal I have right now - using stuff I have instead of buying new. And so I made this birthday card.

 

Ich habe hier im Hintergrund mittig per Ink Smooshing mit Distress Ink Victorian Velvet etwas rosa Farbe auf ein Stück Watercolor Cardstock aufgetragen und anschließend goldene Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt. Ich fand, das passt ganz gut zur Sektflasche.

Statt der Flasche aus dem Kit habe ich den Sektflaschen-Karte Cut and Embossingfolder von CreativeDepot benutzt.  Ich habe die Flasche aus grau-grünem Cardstock gestanzt und die Dekoteile zusätzlich aus matt-goldenem Metallic-Cardstock sowie rosafarbenem normalem Cardstock. Die habe ich dann mit Ohuhu Markern schattiert.

 

I did some ink smooshing with Distress Ink Victorian Velvet to add some light pink to the center of a piece of white watercolor cardstock and then splattered some gold metallic watercolor on top. I think, this background goes great with the champagne bottle.

Instead of the bottle from the kit I uesd a champagne bottle card cut and embossing folder by CreativeDepot. I cut the bottle from grey-ish green cardstock and in addition to that the decor pieces from matte gold metallic cardstock and regular pink cardstock. I shaded the pieces with Ohuhu markers.

 

 Aus der Champagnerflasche im Kit spritzt ja der Sekt heraus. Da habe ich eine Stanze aus dem Set Artful Brush von Spellbinders genommen, die eigentlich von einem Pinsel laufende Farbe stanzt. Ich habe sie zweimal aus Glittercardstock mit Farbverlauf gestanzt und schmaler zugeschnitten, so dass sie in den Schlitz passend, den ich oben in den Flaschenhals geschnitten habe. Zwischen die beiden Lagen habe ich dann noch einen Korken aus einem anderen Sektflaschen-Set von Spellbinders gesetzt. Okay, mein Champagner spritzt nicht so stark, aber mir gefällt es trotzdem. 

Weil es so schön passte, habe ich mit schwarzer Tinte oben auf den Hintergrund ein Pop! aus dem Crazy Thoughts Stempelset von Stampers Anonymous aufgestempelt. Dann habe ich nur den Rahmen mit einem Versamarker eingefärbt, darüber gestempelt und anschließend gold embosst. 

Auf schwarzen Cardstock habe ich dann noch weiß ein kleines "happy birthday" aus dem Set Itty Bitty Birthdays von MFT embosst und im oberen Bereich aufgeklebt.

 

There's champagne spritzing out of the bottle in the kit. I used a die from the Artful Brush stamp set by Spellbinders, that originally cuts some paint dripping from a brush. I die cut it twice from glitter cardstock with a color gradient and cut them smaller, so they fit into the slit I cut into the top of the bottle. Between the layers I added a cork from another die set by Spellbinders. Okay, the champagne coming out of the bottle in the kit looks different, spritzing farther, but I still like my version.

And because it went great with the bottle, I stamped a Pop! from Crazy Thoughts by Stampers Anonymous onto the top of the left of the background. Then I used a Versamarker to only ink the frame around the world, stamped it over the black lines and gold heat embossed them.

Onto black cardstock I white heat embossed a "happy birthday" from Itty Bitty Birthdays by MFT and glued it down in the upper half of the card.

 

 Auf den Flaschenhals habe ich eine Schleife geklebt. Die ist aus dem Set Große Schleifen mit Geschenkbändern von Charlie und Paulchen und ebenfalls mit Ohuhu Markern schattiert. 

Mit den selben Farben habe ich auch das rosafarbene Label schattiert, die eingeprägten Linien mit einem goldenen Gelstift nachgemalt und dann einen Stern, wieder aus dem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt, mittig aufgeklebt.

Hier unten auf der Karte befindet sich dann auch der Haupttext meiner Karte. Er ist aus Soda Pop Stempelset von MFT und ebenfalls weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Zuvor habe ich den Stempel in drei Zeilen geschnitten, da die Texte zu nah zusammen standen, um sie in drei einzelne Zeilen zu schneiden. 

 

I added a bow to the bottle. It's from a die set by Charlie und Paulchen and shaded with Ohuhu markers. 

Using the same colors I shaded the pink label, traced the debossed lines with a gold gel pen and then glued a star, again cut from glitter cardstock, to the center.

And here, on the bottom of the card, is also the main text of my card. It's from Soda Pop by MFT and again white heat embossed onto black cardstock. I had cut the stamp into three parts because the lines were too close to each other to cut them into three individual lines.

 

 Die Flasche habe ich mit dünnem, die Texte mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Mit einem goldenen Gelstift habe ich einen feinen Rahmen auf den Hintergrund gemalt und dann noch einige grün-blaue Perlen als Deko auf der Karte verteilt.

Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

Echte Post - mit Bär

Seit Anfang des Jahres gibt es bei Create a Smile eine neue Mini-Serie als Goodie zu den Bestellungen. Da ist wieder tauschen der Doppelten angesagt. Und die kleinen Stempel wollen natürlich schön verpackt verreisen. Da kamen die Produkte aus dem März-Release wie gerufen, drehen sie sich doch - teilweise - um das Thema Briefe. Damit ist dann diese Karte entstanden.

Beginning of the year Create a Smile started a new series of their mini stamps that you get one of with every order. So it's time to swap doubles again. And those small stamps want to travel in a nice card. The products from the march release came right in time - some of them are mail related. I used some to create this card.

 

Der Hintergrund ist mit dem Stempel Viele Briefe gemacht. Ich habe ihn mit grauer Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und sie dann mit Ohuhu Markern in Grautönen coloriert. 

Anschließend habe ich schwarze Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

 

The background is made with the Viele Briefe stamp. I stamped it with grey ink onto white cardstock and then used Ohuhu markers to color the letters in greys.

Then I splattered black acrylic paint on top.

 

 Einen Teil des Stempels habe ich dann nochmal mit schwarzer Tinte abgestempelt, ausgeschnitten und in "weiß" und rot coloriert und zudem einen einzelnen Brief aus dem Hintergrund ausgeschnitten. Den hält der kleine Bär aus Leckermäulchen - und er ist der Stempel, den ich als Mini ertauscht habe. Das Äffchen, das ich als doppelten verschickt habe, habe ich leider auf der Karte partout nicht untergebracht. Aber das macht ja nichts. Auch den Bären habe ich mit Ohuhu Markern coloriert.

Aus hellgrauem Cardstock habe ich dann den "halben Schatten" aus dem Für Dich mit dreierlei Schatten Set ausgestanzt. Darauf kam dann das Für Dich, gestanzt aus weißem Cardstock. Ich habe den Text aufgedoppelt und den I-Punkt des Dich durch ein rotes Herz ersetzt. 

Den gestanzten Text habe ich dann auf die farbigen Briefe geklebt und den Bären dahinter geschoben.

 

I stamped a part of the stamp again with black ink, cut it out and colored the letters "white" and red. I also cut out an individual letter from the background. This letter is held by the little bear from Leckermäulchen - and this is also the stamp I recieved as the mini. The little monkey that I had two of and that I sent in return just didn't fit into the scene of this card. Again I used Ohuhu markers to color the bear.

From light grey carsdtock I cut the "half shadow" from Für Dich mit dreierlei Schatten. On top I adhered the "für dich" - for you -, cut from white cardstock and doubled up. I replaced the dot on the I with a red clay heart.

I glued the die cut text onto the colored letters and put the bear behind them.

 

 Der obere Teil der Karte war mir noch zu fad. Also habe ich erst einige der Cancellation Marks - Entwertungsstreifen oder so? - mit schwarzer Tinte aufgestempelt. Außerdem habe ich das Wort Echte ebenfalls schwarz aufgestempelt. Beide Stempel sind aus dem Set Analog und Oldschool. Unter das Echte habe ich dann ein aus rotem Cardstock gestanztes Post aufgeklebt. Hier bin ich fremdgegangen und habe eine Stanze von Charlie und Paulchen benutzt. 

Und weil zum Thema Post ja auch das Posthorn perfekt passt, habe ich das noch aus dunkelgrauem Cardstock und matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt und beides leicht versetzt unter dem Wort Post aufgeklebt. Dass dabei eines der kleinen Herzen auf den Briefen genau in der Mitte gelandet ist, ist Zufall, finde ich aber richtig süß. Das Posthorn ist aus dem Stanzenset Postage Rectangle von Create a Smile.

 

The upper half of the card seemed way too boring to me. So I first stamped some cancellation marks over it using black ink. Again with black ink I stamped a "echte" - real - down, both images are from Analog und Oldschoool. Under the word echte I adhered the word Post, cut from red cardstock. I had to use a die by Charlie und Paulchen for it. 

And because the post horn, that's also kind of the brand mark of the german post, goes great with the mail theme of the card I die cut it from dark grey cardstock and matte silver metallic cardstock, then glued them a bit offset under the word post. That one of the heart seals of the letters ended up right in the center of the horn just happened randomly but I really like it. The post horn was cut using a die from Postage Rectangle  by Create a Smile.

 

 Auf die Siegel und Herzen aller Briefe habe ich Glossy Accents aufgetragen. Den Bären habe ich mit dünnem, die rot-weißen Briefe und den gestanzten Text am unteren Ende der Karte mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Als Deko habe ich noch zwei weitere rote Herzen über dem Bären angebracht.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I covered the seals and hearts on all the letters with Glossy Accents. The bear I adherd  with thin, the red and white letters and the die cut text with thick foam tape. Then I added two more red clay hearts above the bear's head.

As the last step I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Im japanischen Garten

Ende März ist die neuste Kollektion von ScrappyTails herausgekommen, und in ihr dreht sich alles um Kois und japanische Gärten. Ich finde die Kollektion absolut einzigartig und - wie immer - grandios gemacht. Mit diesem Shadow Box Rahmen machen wir einen Ausflug in einen japanischen Garten.

End of march ScrappyTails released their newest collection and it's all about Kois and japanese gardens. I love this collection - it's really unique and - as always - done phenomenal. With this shadow box frame we take a trip to a japanese garden.

 

Mein Bruder hatte vor kurzem Geburtstag und ist gerade dabei, seinem Garten einen japanischen Touch zu geben. Ich fand die Karte hier sehr passend, noch dazu, wo er Fisch- und Teich-Liebhaber ist. Und vielleicht kann ihm die Karte ja sogar ein wenig Inspiration bieten.

 

My brother just celebrated his birthday and is also working on giving his garden a japanese touch. I decided, this card would be perfect for him because he also loves pons and fish. And who knows, maybe it gives him some inspiration for his own garden.  

 

 Eigentlich hatte ich eine klassische Karte geplant, aber das sah irgendwie zu fad aus. Also habe ich mit dem Shadow Box Punch Board diesen Rahmen aus dunkelgrauem Cardstock gemacht. Und er war dann von der Breite her zufällig genau richtig für den Rahmen mit den Kirschblüten aus dem Japanese Cherry Blossom Branch Add-On Set. Ich musste ihn per Partial Diecutting nur passend verlängern. Da die Zweige diagonal gegenüber angebracht sind, war das wirklich einfach zu tun. 

Ich habe den Rahmen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, die Zweige coloriert und dann die Blüten aufgeklebt. Wie später auf der ganzen Karte, habe ich jede Lage jeweils mit einer weiteren Lage aus weißem Cardstock hinterlegt. Das gibt allem eine tolle Tiefe, ohne zu sehr aufzutragen.

Den Rahmen habe ich dann auf den Shadow Box Rahmen geklebt.

 

Originally I had planned a traditional card but that looked too plain. So I made this shadow box frame from dark grey cardstock, using the Shadow Box Punch Board. And just by accident it was just perfect in width for the frame with the cherry blossom from Japanese Cherry Blossom Branch Add-On. I only had to make it taller by doing some partial die cutting. Since the branches are arranged diagonally oposite of each other that was super easy to do.

I die cut the frame from white cardstock, colored the branches and then glued the blossoms on. Like I did on every layer of this card I backed each element/layer with another one cut from white cardstock. That adds some depth without adding too much bulk.

I then glued the frame onto the shadow box.

 

 Im Inneren des Rahmens habe ich dann den japanischen Garten gestaltet - oder zumindest einen Ausschnitt davon mit allem, was man sich so traditionell darunter vorstellt.

Hier auf diesem Bild könnt Ihr auch die verschiedenen Lagen hinter den Elementen besser sehen - ich glaube, von ganz hinten bis zur obersten Lage der Szene im Inneren liegen hier an der dicksten Stelle 28 Lagen aufeinander, Rahmen und Kirschblüten nicht mitgezählt. Coloriert habe ich aber natürlich nur jeweils die oberste davon. 

Ganz im Hintergrund befindet sich ein Stück hellblauen Cardstocks, den ich mit etwas Distress Ink Salty Ocean gewischt habe. Den Cardstock habe ich direkt auf die Rückwand der Shadow Box geklebt.

 

Inside the shadow box I created a japanese garden - or what I think it might look like. I've never actually been in one.

On this picture you can also see the different layers behind the elements better - ich think, from the very bottom to the very top there are 28 layers stacked onto each other, not counting in the frame and the cherry blossoms. But of course I only colored the top one of each.

In the very back there's a piece of light blue cardstock, that I shaded with a bit of Distress Ink Salty Ocean. I then glued the cardstock directly onto the back of the shadow box.

 

 Ganz im Hintergrund wächst ein großer Baum im Garten. Der ist aus dem Set Bonsai Tree. 

Ich habe alle Elemente aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Die Highlights sind mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht. 

Und hier sieht man auch, dass ich hinter den Kirschzweig an der oberen Kante der Shadow Box noch zwei Lampions aufgehängt habe. Der Platz hier neben dem Baum war eigentlich für einen Text gedacht, der passte aber irgendwie rein optisch nicht mehr zur Karte. Also habe ich die Lampions aus dem Set Japanese Cherry Blossom Bridge and Lantern Add-On ausgestanzt, gelayert, coloriert und mit kleinen Stücken 3D Tapes hinter den Kirschzweig geklebt. 

 

In the very back a large tree is growing in this garden. It's from Bonsai Tree. 

I die cut all the elements from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. The highlights I drew on with a white gel pen.

And here youu can also see, that I've hung some paper lantern behind the cherry branch in the top of the card. I originally had planned to stamp a text onto that free spot in the sky, but I didn't like it anymore later on. So instead I die cut the lanterns from Japanese Cherry Blossom Bridge and Lantern Add-On, layered them, colored them and used small pieces of foam tape to glue them behind the cherry branch. 

 

 Für die Szene davor habe ich hauptsächlich eine der Stanzen aus dem Set Waterfall Koi Pond Sidewings Trifold Add-On benutzt. Eigentlich gibt es für jedes Element kleinere Teile zum Layern - ich habe meine Szene aber anders herum aufgebaut. Ich habe eine der Stanzen (sehr) oft komplett ausgestanzt und dann immer einen Teil weggeschnitten. Die hinterste Lage besteht aus der kompletten Stanze, bei der nächsten fehlt die Pflanze hinten link, dann die Pflanze und die Büsche etc. 

Aus der Steinlaterne habe ich mit dem Cuttermesser aus jeder Lage die Fenster herausgeschnitten, damit man durch sie hindurch den Baum und Himmel sehen kann. 

Die Gräser, die Seerosenblätter und der Koi sind mit besagten kleinen Stanzen ausgestanzt und aufgeklebt. 

Vorne befinden sich noch einige Steine, auf denen es sich ein Frosch gemütlich gemacht hat. Die Steine sind Teil eines Elements aus dem Set  Acquatic Plants, der Frosch ist aus dem Set Pond Frogs. 

 

For the scene  in front of the tree I mainly used dies from Waterfall Koi Pond Sidewings Trifold Add-On. There are small pieces for each element to layer them - but I worked the other way around. I completly cut out one of the dies (very) often and then cut off a part of it. The back layer is made from the complete die cut, on the next one I cut off the plant on the left, on the next one the plant and the bushes and so on. 

I used a craft knife to cut out the inner pieces of the lantern, doing it on each layer of the lantern. Now you can see the sky and tree behind it through it.

For the tall grasses, the lilly pads and the fish I used the small detail dies, then glued them on.

 In the front left I added some stones, a frog is sitting on them. The stones are part one of the elements from Acquatic Plants, the frog is from Pond Frogs.

 

 Die Szene samt Baum habe  ich dann mit flüssigem Kleber zusammenklebt und alles mit 3D Tape im Rahmen befestigt, so liegt auch der Baum nicht direkt auf dem Himmel auf.

 

I put the scene and the tree together using liquid glue and then used foam tape to gluue everything into the frame. This way the tree has some distance to the sky, too. 

 

Shaker-Card in Autoform

Heute habe ich eine Karte voller Kleeblätter, das ganze in Auto-Form und mit eingebautem Shaker. Klingt kompliziert, ist es aber gar nicht. ;)

Today I have a card full of clovers to share, in a car shape and with a shaker. Sounds complicated, but it actually isn't. ;)

 

Für den Pick-Up habe ich das Stempelset PickUp Tailgate von HoneyBeeStamps benutzt, den habt Ihr hier bei mir ja schon öfter gesehen. Ausgestanzt habe ich ihn mit der passenden Stanze. Es gibt den PickUp auch von vorne - beide sind von der Form her identisch. Also habe ich eigentlich die Stanze zu eben diesem PickUp Cab verwendet. 

Die Karte ist auch die erste, bei der ich das komplette Motiv mit den Ohuhu Markern coloriert habe. Ja, ich lerne noch, aber ich wollte den PickUp in dezenten Farben und leuchtend grüne Kleeblätter. Und ich bin mit dem Ergebnis sehr zufrieden. 

 

For the pick up I used the PickUp Tailgate stamp set by HoneyBeeStamps, I've used that several times already. I cut it out with the matching die. Actually, this car is availbale as a front and a rear view, both are identical in shape. So I used the die from the matching die set for this PickUp Cab. 

This card is also the first one, where I used only Ohuhu Marker for the coloring. Yes, I am still learning how to combine them, but I wanted this PickUp to have a subtle color with bright green clovers. And yes, I am happy with the result.  

 

 Die Ladefläche des PickUps habe ich dann mit vielen Kleeblättern gefüllt. Dafür habe ich die Klee-Wiese aus dem 4 Leaf Clover Set von ColoradoCraft benutzt. Den kleinen Hamster, der eigentlich darin sitzt, habe ich wegmaskiert und durch dieses Häschen aus Dandelion Wishes von MamaElephant ersetzt. Der Hamster war einfach zu groß - außerdem habe ich den erst vor gar nicht langer Zeit benutzt. Die Pusteblume, die der Hase eigentlich in der Hand hält, habe ich dann durch das Kleeblatt ersetzt, das der kleinere Hamster aus dem 4 Leaf Clover Set in der Hand hält. 

Die Fläche zwischen den Kleeblättern habe ich dunkelgrün coloriert und sie dann mit kleinen Kleeblatt-Konfetti sowie winzigen hellgrünen Perlen gefüllt. 

 

I filled the bed of the truck with lots of clovers. I used the clover field from 4 Leaf Clover by ColoradoCraft for them, masking off the hamster, that's sitting in it. I replaced that with the little bunny from Dandelion Wishes by MamaElephant - the hamster was just too large. And I had just used them not too long ago. I replaced the dandelion, that the bunny is holding, with the clover the smaller hamster from 4 Leaf Clover is holding up.

I colored the area betweenthe clovers in a dark green and then filled it with some small clover confetti and tiny light green pearls.

 

 Den Shaker habe ich in die Klappe der Ladefläche des PickUps eingebaut. Dafür habe ich den unteren Teil des PickUps erneut abgestempelt und nur die Kotflügel, die Klappe und die Stoßstange entlang der Stempellinien ausgeschnitten. Außerdem habe ich ein Fenster in die Klappe geschnitten. 

Hinter das Fenster habe ich Folie gesetzt, auf die ich den Text weiß aufembosst habe. Der ist aus dem Set PickUp Cab. Ergänzt wird er dann durch das "good luck" auf dem Nummernschild, das wieder aus PickUp Tailgate ist. 

Diesen Teil des Autos habe ich dann mit 3D Tape auf das komplette Auto geklebt und den Shaker dabei mit weiteren kleinen Kleeblättern sowie winzigen silbernen Perlen gefüllt. Den Bereich hinter dem Shaker, der sich auf dem kompletten Auto befindet, habe ich dunkelgrün coloriert. 

 

I built the shaker in the tailgate of the PickUp. I stamped the lower part of the car again and cut out only the fenders, the tailgate and the bumper, right along the stamped lines. I also cut a window into the tailgate.

I put some acetate behind the window and white heat embossed the text onto it. The text here is again from PickUp Cab. I stamped the rest of the text onto the license plate - this text is again from PickUp Tailgate.

I glued this part of the car onto the complete on using foam tape and filled the shaker with more of the small clover confetti and some tiny silver beads. The area behind the shaker, that is actually part of the complete car, I colored a dark green. 

 

Auf die Kotflügel und neben das Nummernschild habe ich dann noch einige weitere Kleeblätter angeklebt und außerdem drei hellrosa Herzen als Deko auf die Karte geklebt. Das Häschen ist übrigens mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt, so dass es zwar etwas erhöht, aber nicht so hoch wie die Ladefläche mit dem Shaker ist.

 

I added some more of the clover confetti to the fenders and next to the license plate and also glued down three light pink clay hearts as decoration. The bunny I adhered with thin foam tape. This way it's raised a bit but not as much as the clovers and shaker.

 

 Auch die Karte hinter dem Auto ist in Auto-Form gestaltet. Ich habe es dafür aus  oben gefaltetem, weißem Cardstock gestanzt und die Stanze dabei so aufgeklebt, dass die obere Kante der Stanze etwa 1 cm über den Cardstock hinausragt. Auf diese Auto-Karte habe ich dann das dekorierte Auto aufgeklebt.

 

The card behind the car is also made in the shape of the car. I simply cut it again from a top folding note card, moving the die up a bit. This way the top edge is outside the card base and the fold doesn't get cut. Then I glued the decorated car onto the car shaped card base.

 

Der frühe Waschbär kriegt den Hasen

Heute habe ich eine etwas andere Osterkarte - sowohl vom Motiv als auch von den Farben her. Heute werden ja in den meisten Familien Ostereier und -nester gesucht. Nun, ich hoffe, Ihr wohnt nicht neben dem kleinen Waschbären hier. Der ist nämlich noch vor Sonnenaufgang unterwegs gewesen und hat ebenfalls Eier und Nester gesucht. Und gefunden! Und vom Schokohasen hat er, wie hier zu sehen, beim Schein der ersten Sonnenstrahlen schon mal ein Ohr abgebissen....

Today I have a bit of a different easter card to share with you - color and image wise. Today most families search for easter eggs and nests. I really hope you don't live next to this little rascal. Before the sun had risen he was out, looking for eggs and a nest himself. And he found them! In the shine of the very first sunrays he took a bite out of this large chocolate bunny...

 

Der Hintergrund sollte wie Sonnenaufgang aussehen. Also habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Ink Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Abandoned Coral, Fired Brick und Black Soot gewischt. Dann habe ich durch einen Strahlenstencil weiße Pigmentfarbe aufgetragen. 

 

I wanted the background to look like sunrise. So I inked a piece of white cardstock with Distress Ink Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Abandoned Coral, Fired Brick and Black Soot. Then I applied some white pigment ink through a rays stencil. 

 

 Und hier ist der Waschbär in Großaufnahme. 

Nun, eigentlich war die  Karte zuerst ganz anders geplant. Statt des Waschbären wollte ich einen Hasen benutzen, der vom Schokohasen abbeißt. Das Eggstra Special Easter Set von LawnFawn, in dem der Schokohase enthalten ist,  habe ich vor kurzem in einem Flohmarkt gekauft. Als es dann ankam, war ich überrascht, dass der Hase doch um einiges größer ist, als ich gedacht habe. Da war der Hase dann viel zu klein. Außerdem hatte ich irgendwie das Gefühl, ein Hase, der einen Schokohasen isst - ist das dann Kannibalismus? Also habe ich mich für den Waschbären entschieden. Der ist aus einem Stanzenset von Action. Die Arme kann man an Falzlinien nach innen klappen, so dass er den Schokohasen gut halten kann. Ich habe hier zwei Stanzensets kombiniert und dem Waschbären dunkelgraues Fell auf dem Kopf verpasst. Außerdem habe ich mit einem Oval von Spellbinders ein dunkelgraues Stück Cardstock für den Bauch gestanzt. 

Zum Colorieren und Schattieren der Teile aus farbigem Cardstock habe ich Ohuhu Marker benutzt. 

Über dem Waschbären habe ich dann noch eine Sprechblase mit einem aufgestempelten "happy easter" angebracht. Die Sprechblase ist aus dem Set All the Speech Bubbles, der Text darin aus Stamp 'n Stencil Easter Eggs, beides von LawnFawn.

Well, originally I had planned this card completly different. Instead of the rascal I wanted to use a bunny, letting him take a bite out of the chocoloate bunny. I purchased the Eggstra Special Easter set by LawnFawn, that the chocolate bunny comes in, recently in a destash group. When it arrived I was quite surprised how large that bunny is - too large for the bunny I had in mind. And it somehow felt wrong to have  a bunny take a bite out of a chocolate bunny - like some kind of cannibalism. So I changed idea and went with the rascal instead. It's from a die set by Action - the arms are folded in along some score lines and can hold the chocolate bunny easily. I combined two different die sets, giving the rascal a dark grey top of the head. I also used an oval by Spellbinders to cut a dark grey belly.

For my coloring and shading the pieces I had cut from colored cardstock I used Ohuhu markers. 

Above the rascal's head I added a speech bubble with a stamped in "happy easter". The speech bubble is from All the Speech Bubbles, the text from Stamp 'n Stencil Easter Eggs, both by LawnFawn. 

 

 Unten auf der Karte habe ich einige Ostereier um den Waschbären verteilt. Die hat er natürlich auch soeben im Garten gefunden. Auch die Eier sind aus dem Stamp 'n Stencil Easter Set. Wie der Name schon verrät, kommt das Set mit einer passenden Stencil um den Eiern verschiedene Muster zu geben. Ich habe mich für Streifen und Punkte entschieden, wobei ich die Punkte durch den Stencil hindurch mit einem weißen Gelstift nachgemalt habe. 

Und hier unten war dann auch noch Platz für einen weiteren Text. Der ist aus dem Set Eggstra Amazing Easter. Nun, den habe ich in letzter Minute hinzugefügt - hätte ich ihn von vornherein geplant, hätte ich unten mehr Platz dafür gelassen. So musste ich das "and chocolate" eben schräg über der Textzeile angebringen.  Aber es passte einfach zu gut zur Szene um es wegzulassen. Die Texte sind weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

 

In the lower area of the card I put some easter eggs around the rascal. Of course he just found these in his garden. The eggs are also from Stamp 'n Stencil Easter. As the name indicates the stamp set comes with a stencil to add different patterns to the egg. I went with stripes and dots, using a white gel pen to draw the dots onto the eggs, through the stencil.

And here at the bottom there was also room for another text. It's from Eggstra Amazing Easter. Well, I decided last minute to add it - if I had planned it from the beginning I would have left more room. Since there wasn't enough space I had to glue the "and  chocolate" a bit slanted above the long text strip. But it went too good with my scene to leave it out. I white heat embossed the texts onto black cardstock. 

 

 Hinter dem Waschbären habe ich dann noch einige Frühlingsblumen auf dem Hintergrund verteilt - die gehören zu Ostern ja auch irgendwie dazu. 

Ich habe hier die Stanzensets Terrific Tulips und Lovely Lily of the Valley, ebenfalls beide von LawnFawn, benutzt und die Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Dann habe ich sie mit Ohuhu Makern farblich passend zu den Ostereiern - nur zarter - coloriert.

 

Behind the rascal I planted some spring flowers - those just have to be on any easter card.

I used the die sets Terrific Tulips and Lovely Lily of the Valley, both by LawnFawn again, and die cut the pieces from white cardstock. I shaded them with Ohuhu Markers matching the easter eggs, just lighter. 

 

 Die Blumen sind alle direkt auf den Hintergrund geklebt, die übrigen Elemente habe ich mit 3D Tape hinterlegt. Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

In diesem Sinne wünsche ich Euch ein frohes Osterfest, viel Erfolg bei der Eiersuche und lasst Euch den Schokohasen schmecken, falls Ihr noch einen findet! ;)
