Happy Spring Day

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Also so langsam dürfte der Frühling mal kommen, ich bin mehr als bereit und sehne mich nach Sonnenschein und wärmeren Temperaturen. Zur Einstimmung habe ich heute schon mal eine Frühlingskarte für Euch.

Spring could really make its appearance now, I am more than ready and yearn for sunshine and warmer temperatures. To get a bit in a spring mood I have a spring card for all of you today.

 

Der Hintergrund meiner Karte ist aus einem Stück blauen Cardstocks gemacht, den ich von unten her ein wenig mit Distress Ink Salty Ocean gewischt habe. 

Da meine Hasen eine schöne Landschaft brauchten, hatte ich die Idee, eine Art "Tunnel" aus frühlingshaften Büschen zu machen. Ich kenne diese von Pflanzen überwucherten Gänge noch von früher. Wolkenstanzen boten sich da natürlich an. Ich habe die beiden großen Stanzen aus dem Cloudy Sky Scene Set von HeroArts aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen hellgrünen Cardstocks gestanzt und dann mit Copics mit kleinen Punkten coloriert. Damit es auch aussieht wie Büsche habe ich dann noch einige feine Äste aus dem Branching Out Set von Memorybox aufgeklebt, hier reichten jeweils die Spitzen der Äste. 

 

I created the background for my scene from blue cardstock that I inked from the bottom up with a bit of Distress Ink Salty Ocean.

My bunnies needed a nice spring-ish landscape and I got the idea of creating some kind of "tunnel" from bushes. I remember those overgrown by plants ways from back then. Cloud dies seemed perfect. I used the two large ones from Cloudy Sky Scene by HeroArts and cut them from two different shades of light green cardstock. Then I colored them with Copics by just covering them with lots of little dots. And to make sure these look like bushes I added a few branches from Branching Out by Memorybox, only using the very tips of the branches.

 

Eigentlich wollte ich ein ganz anderes Motiv aus dem Schrank holen - die Karte damit zeige ich Euch demnächst - und bin dabei über die süßen Hasen aus dem Happy Day Set von ColoradoCraft gestolpert. Ganz spontan habe ich mich dann umentschieden... 

Ich habe sie mit dem Jellyfish Kissen von LawnFawn gestempelt und dann mit Copics coloriert. Zum Schluss habe ich dann mit einem schwarzen Fineliner die Schnurrhaare und Augen aufgemalt und außerdem einige Details mit Polychromos hinzugefügt.  

Das Gras hinter und neben den Hasen habe ich mit dem Greener Grass Set von ColoradoCraft gemacht. Ich habe die Hasen maskiert und die Grasbüschel direkt mit auf den selben Cardstock gestempelt. 

 

I wanted to bring out a completly different image - I will share the card I made with that a bit later in the month - and came across the cute bunnies from Happy Day by ColoradoCraft. That made me change my mind...

I stamped the images with the Jellyfish ink by LawnFawn and colored them with Copics. Then I used a black fineliner to add the eyes and wiskers and also added a few small details with Polychromos.

The grass behind and next to the bunnies is made with the Greener Grass set by ColoradoCraft.  I masked the bunnies off and stamped the grass onto the same piece of cardstock.

 

 Beim Abstempeln der Motive hatte ich noch nicht so genau im Kopf, wie die Karte dann am Ende aussehen sollte - und hatte unter den Motiven tatsächlich nicht genug Platz für meinen Text. Ich wollte unbedingt die Spring-Stanze aus dem Great Greetings Spring von HoneyBeeStamps benutzen und das braucht dann doch einiges an Platz. Also habe ich aus hellgrünem Cardstock noch eine Grasbordüre ausgestanzt und die als zusätzliche Lage unter die Motive gesetzt. Damit sie zum Rest des Grases passt, habe ich auch den Cardstock ein wenig mit Copics schattiert. 

Das Wort Spring ist einfach aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Das "happy" und das "day" habe ich dann weiß aufembosst, beides ist ebenfalls aus dem Happy Day Set. 

Und damit das Gras hier nicht so langweilig wirkt, habe ich noch kleine Osterglocken aus dem Small Daffodils in Pot Set von Gummiapan in die Wiese gepflanzt. Auch die habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Die Blumenzwiebeln am unteren Ende habe ich einfach weggeschnitten. 

 

When stamping the images I didn't know yet, what exactly I wanted my card to look like - and didn't leave enough room for the text under them. I really wanted to use the spring word die from Great Greetings Spring by HoneyBeeStamps, and that needs quite some space. So I die cut a grass border from light green cardstock and added it as an additional layer under the images. To make this layer go with the rest of the grass layers I shaded the cardstock with some Copics.

The word spring I simply cut from white cardstock.  The words "happy" and "day" I then white heat embossed onto the cardstock, both words are from Happy Day, too.

The grass layer looked a bit plain with just the text on it. So I added some daffodils from Small Daffodils in Pot by Gummiapan. Again I cut them from white cardstock and colored them with Copics and cut off the bulbs at the bottom.

 

 Damit der Busch-Tunnel auch schön plastisch wirkt, habe ich die Wolken-/Buschlagen jeweils mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Die Hasen sind direkt auf dem Himmel befestigt, die extra Graslage habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich noch  drei kleine weiße Wolken am Himmel verteilt und alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

To make the tunnel of bushes dimensional I added the clouds/bushes with thick foam tape. The bunnies I glued directly onto the sky, the extra layer of grass I backed with thin foam tape.

At the end I added three small clouds to the sky and adhered the card panel to a white note card.

 

LawnFawnatics Challenge #216

LawnFawn feiert diesen Monat seinen 16. Geburtstag - da lag es natürlich nahe, "Happy Birthday, LawnFawn" als Thema für die aktuelle LawnFawnatics Challenge zu wählen. Und das ist meine Umsetzung des Geburtstagsthemas.

LawnFawn is turning 16 this month - and so it's no wonder that "Happy Birthday, LawnFawn" is the theme for the current LawnFawnatics challenge. And this is the birthday card I made as my entry.

 

 Meine Karte ist recht pink-lastig, trotzdem finde ich sie nicht kitschig, was bei Rosa ja doch recht schnell passieren kann.

Im Hintergrund befindet sich ein Stück weißen Cardstocks, den ich mit Distress Oxide Dried Marigold, Tea Dye, Saltwater Taffy und Picked Raspberry gewischt habe. Dann habe ich erst Wasser und nach dem Trocknen weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Um alles kam dann ein Rahmen. Ich habe den Big Blossom Backdrop Landscape aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und die Blätter und Stiele schattiert. Darauf habe ich dann einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames, gestanzt aus schwarzem Cardstock, gesetzt.

 

My card is pretty pink, but I still think it isn't kitschy, what can happen pretty fast with pink.

In the background there's a piece of white cardstock, that I inked with Distress Oxide Dried Marigold, Tea Dye, Saltwater Taffy and Picked Raspberry. I then splattered water and, after that  had dried, white acrylic paint onto the cardstock.

I put a frame onto that cardstock. I die cut the Big Blossom Backdrop Landscape from green cardstock and shaded the leaves and stems. Then I put one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames, cut from black cardstock, on top.

 

 Vor einiger Zeit habe ich bei Tedi Glitter-Cardstock mit Farbverlauf gefunden. Aus einem Bogen dieses Cardstocks, der von der Farben her perfekt zu meinem gewischten Hintergrund passt, habe ich das Giant Make a Whish gestanzt. Ich habe es leicht versetzt mit einem schwarzen Stanzteil hinterlegt und dann weiße Highlights auf die Glitter-Buchstaben aufgemalt. 

Dieser Text, der auch der einzige auf meiner Karte ist, bildet die Mitte der Karte.

 

A little ago I found some glitter cardstock in a gradient at a local dollar store. From one of these sheets, that goes perfectly with the colors I used to ink the background, I die cut the Giant Make a Wish, using the die with the same name. I backed it with a black die cut, offsetting that a bit, and then added highlights to the glittered letters using a white gel pen.

This text, that's also the only one on this card, is the center of my scene.

 

 Im unteren Bereich habe ich dann Blüten auf die Stiele gesetzt, wobei ich die teilweise etwas gekürzt habe, damit nicht zu viel des Textes verdeckt wird. 

Ich habe die Blüten aus hellrosa, die Blumenmitten aus orangefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt. Dann habe ich die Blüten mit Distress Ink Picked Raspberry und ein wenig Aged Mahogany gewischt, die Blütenmitten mit Crackling Campfire. 

Hier unten befindet sich ein Schmetterling mit Geschenk. Das Geschenk ist aus dem Geschenkestapel aus Tiny Birthday Friends ausgeschnitten. Außerdem habe ich zwischen den beiden Blumen rechts eine kleine Partygirlande aus Hive Five gespannt. 

 

In the lower are of the card I added the flowers to the stems, cutting some of them down a bit to not cover too much of the text.

I die cut the flowers from light pink, the flower centers from orange cardstock. I inked the flowers with Distress Ink Picked Raspberry and a bit of Aged Mahogany, the flower centers with Crackling Campfire. 

Down here there's a butterfly with a present. I cut the present out from a pile of presents from Tiny Birthday Friends. I've also hung a small party garland from Hive Five between the two flowers on the right side.

 

 Im oberen Bereich der Karte sind zwei weitere Schmetterlinge unterwegs. Sie alle sind aus dem neuen Set I Like Big Butterflies. Einem habe ich einen Cupcake, ebenfalls aus Tiny Birthday Friends, in die Hand gegeben, der andere bringt drei Luftballons zu Party mit. Die sind aus dem Set Bicycle Built for You. 

Ich habe alle Motive mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten. Auf die farbigen Teile der Schmetterlingsflügel und auf die Ballons habe ich mit Stickles ein wenig Glitter aufgetragen.

 

In the upper area of the card there are two more butterflies. All of them are from the new I Like Big Butterflies set. I gave one a cupcake, again from Tiny Birthday Friends, to hold, the other one brings three balloons to the party. Those are from Bicycle Built for You.

I colored all images with Copics and cut them out with my scissors. Onto the colored pieces of the butterflies' wings and the balloons I added a bit of glitter using Stickles.

 

 Ich habe nur hinter die Blumenmitten dünnes 3D Tape gesetzt und die Blumen damit auf die Stiele geklebt. Die Blütenblätter habe ich mit dem Finger ein wenig nach oben gebogen. Hinter den Schmetterlingen befindet sich dickes 3D Tape.

Als Deko habe ich fünf weiße Herzen auf der Karte verteilt, zwei davon als I-Punkte auf dem I von Wish. Dann habe ich noch einige hellorange-irisierende Glitzersteine auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I put thin foam tape only behind the flower centers and used that to adhere the flowers to the stems. The petals I bent up a bit using my fingers. Behind the butterflies I put thick foam tape.

As decoration I added five white clay hearts, two glued down like dots on the I of the word wish. Then I scattered some light orange iridescent rhinestones to the background. 

As the last step I glued the card panel to a white note card.

Im März und April darf ich Gastdesigner für The Stampstop sein - ein Stempelshop in den Niederlanden, der viele tolle Marken im Sortiment hat und zu sehr fairen Versandkosten auch nach Deutschland liefert. Und dies ist meine erste Karte.

 

Hello everyone!

I was asked to be a guest designer for The Stampstop for march and april. It's a shop in the Netherlands, that has many great brands in their store. This is my first card.  

 

Eine der Marken, die The Stampstop vertreibt, ist The Sassy Club. Die habe ich tatsächlich vor etwa einem Jahr das erste Mal wahrgenommen, das erste Set dann aber erst Ende letzten Jahres gekauft. Damit kommt demnächst dann auch (nochmal) ein Werk. Für meine heutige Karte kam aber die News Print Stanze samt passenden Stempeln und das Stempelset Little Genius zum Einsatz.

Ich liebe die Zeitungsstanze. Sie wirkt wie eine dicke Wochenendausgabe, und so muss eine Zeitung für mich sein.

Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und dann mit Copics ein wenig vergilbt coloriert. Zeitungspapier ist ja nie wirklich weiß, also passte das gut.

 

One of the brands, The Stampstop is selling, is The Sassy Club. I discovered this brand about a year ago but only bought my first set late last year. I will share another project with that set soon. But for today's card I used the News Print die and matching stamps and the Little Genius stamp set.

I love this newspaper die. It looks like a thick weekend edition, and that's what a newspaper has to look like for me.

I cut it from white cardstock and then shaded it with Copics, making it look a bit aged. Newspapers never are a bright white and so I think, that fits great.

 

 Als Mutter einer Biologie-Doktorandin bin ich für alles, was Labor etc anbelangt, recht anfällig. Und Beaker, den wimmernden Kerl mit den roten Haaren aus der Muppet Show, liebe ich sowieso. Also war das Little Genius Stempelset ein Muss für mich. Hier ziert eines der Motive aus dem Set - als Foto gestaltet - die Titelseite  der Zeitung.

Der Stempel ist eigentlich um einiges größer. Ich habe die Zeitung so maskiert, dass knapp unter  dem Titel ein Rechteck freigeblieben ist, und habe dort den Teil des Motivs, den ich auf der Karte haben wollte, aufgestempelt. 

Wiederum mit Copics habe ich dann das Bild coloriert. Früher waren Bilder in Zeitungen ja nur schwarz-weiß, und diesen Look wollte ich aufgreifen. Da ich aber für einige Elemente auf der Karte rote Tinte benutzen wollte, habe ich auch bei der Coloration ein wenig Rot mit eingearbeitet. Die Haare von Beaker gehören zu diesen roten Elementen, das musste einfach so sein!

Mit einem schwarzen Fineliner habe ich direkt um das Motiv einen Rahmen gemalt und dann einen weiteren, ein klein wenig außerhalb hinzugefügt. Das Bild habe ich dann entlang dieses äußeren Rahmens abgeklebt und mit einem Stencil und etwas Distress Ink Candied Apple Strahlen rechts und links des Motivs aufgewischt. 

Die übrigen Stempel sind aus dem Set News von The Sassy Club. Damit kann man die Zeitung für alle Gelegenheiten und ganz nach Lust und Laune gestalten. Es gibt mehrere Zeitungstitel. Ich habe mich für Daily Planet entschieden. Und weil mir das ein wenig zu kurz war, habe ich noch ein kleines The, das vor zwei weiteren Titeln aus dem Set steht, dazugestempelt. 

Das Extra! musste natürlich in rot gestempelt werden - es ist schließlich eine Sonderausgabe. Und das soll man auch gleich sehen. Ich habe alle roten Elemente mit dem Lobster-Stempelkissen von LawnFawn gestempelt. 

 

As the mom of a daughter, that is just getting a doctor degree in biology, I am very drawn to everything laboratory etc. related. And beaker, the whimpering red haired guy from Muppet Show, is one of my favorites. So the Little Genius stamp set was a must have for me. Here I used one of the images from this set - turned into a photo - on the front page of my newspaper.  

The stamp is quite larger originally. I masked off most of the cut out newspaper, creating a non-masked rectangle, then stamped the part of the image I wanted  to use into that rectangle.

Again using Copics I colored the image. When I was a kid, newspapers were mainly just black and white and that's the look I wanted to create. But I also wanted to use red ink for some elements on my card and so I used a bit of red also in my coloring. Of course Beaker's hair had to be among them!

I drew a frame around the image with a black fineliner, then added another, just a bit larger frame around it. I then masked off the image along that outer frame and added some rays to the left and right of the image using a rays stencil and Distress Ink Candied Apple.

The other stamps on my card are from the News set by The Sassy Club. It has all kind of stamps for you to create your newspaper any way and for any occasion you like. There are several titles for the newspaper. I went with Daily Planet. And since that was a bit too short for my taste I stamped a small The, that's part of some other titles from the set, before it. 

The Extra! had to be stamped in red - it's a special edition after all. And you really need to see that right away. I used Lobster ink by LawnFawn for all the red elements on my card.

 

 Den unteren Teil der Zeitung habe ich mit weiteren Stempeln aus dem Set News gestaltet. Nur das "little Genius" ist aus dem gleichnamigen Set, aus dem auch das Motiv ist. 

Außerdem habe ich das Congrats! und die Sterne aus dem Set Simply Celebrate Graduation von LawnFawn mit eingearbeitet. 

Die Texte You did it! und Congrats! sind wieder in rot gestempelt. Um die roten Worte noch etwas mehr hervorzuheben, habe ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner einen Schlagschatten und mit einem weißen Gelstift Highlights aufgemalt. Vor allem das Congrats!, das ich über den kleinen Text gesetzt habe, sticht so viel besser hervor.

 

I created the bottom part of the newspaper using more stamps from the News set. Only "litte genius" is from the Little Genius set, that also the image comes from.

I also brought in the Congrats! and the little stars from Simply Celebrate Graduation by LawnFawn.

Again I used red ink to stamp the You did it! and Congrats! To bring out the red texts even more I added a drop shadow with a black fineliner and highlights with a thin white gel pen. Especially the Congrats!, that I stamped on top of the small texts, is way more noticable/legible this way.

 

 Als Deko habe ich dann auf die Strahlen neben dem Motiv einige rosafarbene Sterne aufgeklebt.

Die bestempelte Zeitung habe ich dann auf einen Kartenrohling geklebt, der ebenfalls die Form einer Zeitung hat. Ich habe die News Print Stanze einfach ein weiteres Mal aus einem gefalteten Stück weiße  Cardstocks gestanzt und dabei die linke Kante der Stanze ein wenig über den Falz hinausgeschoben. 

 

As decoration I glued some pink clay stars onto the rays next to the image.

Then I glued the stamped newspaper onto a newspaper shaped card base. I simply cut the News Print die again from a folded piece of white cardstock, moving the left edge of the die over a bit so it is just next to and outside of the fold in the card.

 

Happy Easter

Es wird Zeit, für die erste Osterkarte. Wie immer tue ich mich mit der ersten besonders schwer - Winterbasteln ist doch so komplett anders und ich muss mich erst wieder an die sanften, fröhlichen Farben gewöhnen. Dementsprechend bin ich zumindest mit dem Hintergrund dieser Karte nicht so ganz zufrieden. Aber ein Anfang ist gemacht.

It's time to make the first easter card. As every year I am having a really hard time - winter crafting is so different and I have to get used to the soft and happy colors again. That's also why I am not really happy with the background of this card, but it's a start.

 

Besagter Hintergrund besteht aus weißem Cardstock, den ich mit einem Embossingfolder von Nellie Snellen geprägt habe. Ich wollte keinen farbigen Hintergrund, denn die Szene ist bereits farbig genug. So ganz weiß es hat es mir dann aber auch nicht gefallen. Also habe ich aus hellgelbem Cardstock einen Strahlenkreis ausgestanzt, ihn mit Copics schattiert und oben mittig auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

 

Said background is made from white cardstock, that I dry embossed with an embossing folder by Nellie Snellen. I didn't want a colored background, because there are already enough colors in the scene. But I also didn't like the plain white. So I die cut a circle of rays from light yellow cardstock, shaded it with Copics and adhered it to the top center of the background.

 

 Die Szene auf meiner Karte besteht aus einem gefüllten Osterkorb samt Blumen und einem Küken. 

Die meisten Elemente hier stammen aus dem Postage Collage Egg Hunt Icons  Set von WaffleFlower. Das kleine Osterei ist von Kulricke und die ganz kleinen mit den Mustern von CreativeDepot. Ich habe alle Teile aus pastellfarbenem Designpapier aus den Spiffy Speckles und dem Spiffier Speckles Paper Pads von LawnFawn gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. 

Der Schokohase ist mit der Chocolate Bunny Stanze von ImpressionObsession gemacht. Den habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und komplett coloriert. Die Schleife ist wieder aus dem Postage Collage Set, sie passt dem Hasen perfekt.  

Unter das Osterkörbchen habe ich einen Grasfleck gesetzt, den ich mit einem der Grounding Elements von MFT gemacht habe. Und hinter das Körbchen habe ich später noch höheres Gras, gestanzt mit einer Border-Stanze von Magnolia, gesetzt.

 

The scene on my card is showing a filled easter basket with flowers and a little chickie.

Most elements on this card are from the Postage Collage Egg Hunt Icons by WaffleFlower. The smaller easter egg is by Kulricke, the tiny ones with the patterns by CreativeDepot. I die cut all pieces from pastel patterned  from the Spiffy Speckles and Spiffier Speckles paper pads by LawnFawn, then shaded them with Copics.

The bunny is made with the Chocolate Bunny die by ImpressionObsession. I cut it from white cardstock and colored it in completely. The bow is again from the Postage Collage set, it fits this bunny perfectly.

Under the basket I put a patch of grass, cut with one of the Grounding Elements set by MFT. And behind the basket I put up some taller grass, made with a border die by Magnolia.

 

Direkt unter der Szene habe ich dann meinen Text angeklebt. Das happy ist aus weißem Cardstock, der Rest des Textes wieder aus Designpapier gestanzt. Und neben das T von Easter  habe ich noch zwei kleine Ostereier, die ich übrig hatte, aufgeklebt.

 

I put my text directly under the scene. The happy is cut from white cardstock, the rest of the text I cut from more of the patterned paper. I placed two tiny easter eggs, that I had left over, next to the T of the word Easter.

 

 Natürlich kam beim Zusammensetzen der Szene 3D Tape zum Einsatz. Damit habe ich auch den kompletten Hintergrund hinterlegt und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. 

Als Deko habe ich dann noch ein paar gelb-irisierende Glitzersteine im oberen Bereich der Karte verteilt.

 

Of course I used foam tape to put the scene together. I also backed the complete card panel with it and adhered it to a white note card.

As decoration I added some yellow-iridescent rhinestones to the upper area of the card.

 

Tropische Grüße

Ihr mögt verwundert sein, sage ich doch immer, dass Tropen und maritim bei mir nur im Sommer gehen. Nun, eigentlich stimmt das auch. Da ich aber dieses Jahr bereits durch die Karibik geschippert bin und die Eindrücke noch nachwirken, mache ich eine Ausnahme.

You might be surprised because I always say, that I can only make tropical or maritime cards in summer. Well, that's true. But since I already cruised through the caribbean sea this year and all those impressions are still so fresh I am making an exception today.

 

Nun, ich muss Euch unbedingt ein wenig von der Kreuzfahrt erzählen. Es war nämlich nicht nur eine Kreuzfahrt, es war die Crafty Cruise Kreuzfahrt von ScrappyTails. An den Seetage wurde jeweils ein paar Stunden gebastelt, den Rest der Zeit hat man Wetter, Schiff und Landgänge genossen. Es war so toll! Und das war tatsächlich der erste Urlaub, in dem mein Mann nicht irgendwann zu hören bekam, dass mir das Basteln fehlt...

Von ScrappyTails sind auch die Produkte, die ich für diese Karte benutzt habe. Wir haben nämlich tatsächlich nicht alle geplanten Karten geschafft, die Teile dafür waren aber schon ausgestanzt. Und einen Teil davon habe ich hier verwendet. Zu jedem Workshop gab es eine der benutzten Stanzen, in diesem Fall war es der Papagei. Den habe ich hier dann auch in anderen Farben als im bereits gestanzten Kit gehalten. 

Den Rohling der Karte habe ich mit den Coupon-Stanzen aus dem Love Coupon Set gemacht. Ich habe das kleinere Ticket aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt und mittig die Fläche, über der sich später das Fenster befindet, herausgeschnitten. 

 Die tropischen Blätter samt Blüten waren ebenfalls bereits ausgestanzt. Sabrina, bzw. ihr Bruder, der alle Teile ausgestanzt hat, hat dafür die Aloha Tropical Leave Cover Plate benutzt. Das Grün des Cardstocks war recht kräftig. Also habe ich  Copics in verschiedenen BG-Tönen benutzt und die Blätter damit schattiert und so farblich abgedunkelt. Die eigentlich rosafarbenen Blüten habe ich eher korallefarben eingefärbt. Aus dem Blätterrahmen habe ich dann zwei Teile herausgeschnitten und oben links sowie unten rechts an die Ecken/Kanten des Tickets geklebt. 

 

I really have to tell you a bit about that cruise. It was not just a cruise but the Crafty Cruise by ScrappyTails. We did some hours of crafting on each of the sea days, the rest of the time we enjoyed the weather, the ship and the shores we stopped at. It was just amazing! And it actually was the very first vacation I didn't have to tell my husband that I miss crafting...

The products I used on this card are also by ScrappyTails. We actually didn't manage to do all the planned cards, but the parts were all already cut out for us. I used part of these on this card. And we got a die with each of the workshops, used on the card. In this case it's the parrot die. So I was able to cut it from different colors than the already die cut ones in the kit.

I created the card base with the ticket dies from Love Coupon. I die cut the smaller ticket from light bluue cardstock and cut out an area from the center, that will be covered by the window later.

The tropical leaves and flowers were all die cut, too. Sabrina - or better her brother, who did all the die cutting - used the Aloha Tropical Leave Cover Plate here. The shade of green the leaves were cut from was quite intense/bright. So I used different shades of the BG Copic tones to shade the leaves and tone them down/darken them a bit. The originally pink flowers I turned into kind of coral colored ones. I cut two areas out of the leaves frame and adhered those to the top left and bottom right of the ticket.

 

 Aus weißem Cardstock habe ich dann das Fenster aus dem Christmas House Window Set gestanzt und das Fensterbrett am unteren Ende weggeschnitten. Dann habe ich Folie direkt hinter das Fenster geklebt. 

Hinter dieses Fenster habe ich dann ein Stück Cardstock gesetzt, das ich mit Distress Oxides gewischt habe. Ich habe einen Streifen maskiert und den Himmel mit Tattered Rose, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple und Fired Brick gewischt. Das Meer darunter habe ich dann mit Broken China und Uncharted Mariner gestaltet. Mit diesen Farben habe ich übrigens auch die Ränder des Tickets ganz leicht eingefärbt.  

Auf den Himmel habe ich ein paar wenige Sterne mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgetupft und auch einige Wellen auf das Wasser gemalt. Das Fenster habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. 

Oben auf das Fenster habe ich dann noch einen Text gesetzt. Da ich irgendwie nichts passendes hatte, habe ich einfach das "hello" aus dem Love Notes Stationary Set zweimal aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, aufeinander- und dann auf das Fenster geklebt.

 

From white cardstock I die cut the Christmas House Window and cut off the window sill at the bottom. Then I glued some acetate behind the window.

Behind this window I then put a piece of white cardstock, that I inked with Distress Oxides. I masked off a strip at the bottom and inked the sky with Tattered Rose, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple and Fired Brick. The ocean underneath I then created with Broken China and Uncharted Mariner. I also used those colors to very lightly ink the edges of the ticket. 

I used a white gel pen to draw a few stars onto the sky and some waves onto the water. Then I glued the window with thin foam tape to the ticket. 

On top of the window I added my greeting. I didn't have anything that goes with tropics or a parrot so I simply cut the "hello" from Love Notes Stationary two times from black cardstock, stacked them and glued them onto the window.

 

 Und hier ist der Papagei aus dem Layering Parrot Set in voller Pracht. Der Papagei, der im Workshop-Kit enthalten war, war in Gelb- und Blautönen gehalten. Ich schaue mir vor dem Schattieren mit Copics immer gerne Bilder der diversen Tiere an - und dabei bin ich über einen Papagei nur in Rottönen gestolpert. Ich gebe zu, es handelte sich um ein Stofftier, aber die Farbkombi hat mir total gut gefallen. Also habe ich alle Teile nochmal aus diversen hellen und dunkleren Röttönen gestanzt und sie dann mit Copics schattiert. 

Den Flügel und die Schwanzteile habe ich jeweils nur oben aufeinander geklebt, so dass ich sie unten etwas auffächern konnte. Und beim Stanzen waren einige der Dekoteile für den Kopf übrig, einfach weil es Teil einer größeren Stanze mit mehreren Teilen war. Also habe ich die, ein wenig wie bei einem Kakadu, hinter den Kopf geklebt. 

Das Auge, den Schnabel und die Füße habe ich dann noch mit Glossy Accents überzogen und den Ast, auf dem Papagei  sitzt, dann zwischen die Blätter geschoben. Die habe ich übrigens mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt, so dass sie samt Vogel der höchste Teil der Karte sind.

 

And here's the parrot from the Layering Parrot set in all its beauty. The parrot that was cut for the workshop kit was made from yellows and blues. Before I color an animal I like to look at pictures of it. When I did it for the parrot I came across one, that was all reds. I have to admit that this was no actual parrot but a stuffed animal, but I really liked the colors. So I cut all the pieces again from different shades of light and dark red cardstock and then shaded them with Copics.  

When putting the parrot together, I only put glue behind the top areas of the wing and tail, this way I was able to bend the tips up.  And when cutting the pieces I ended up with some left over small head pieces, just because there are some smaller shapes combined in one die. So I glued those behind the head, giving my parrot a bit of a cockatoo.

I covered the eye, the beak and the feet with Glossy Accents and tucked the branche, the parrot is sitting on, between the leaves. By the way, I backed these with thick foam tape, to make the leaves and the parrot the highest element on my card.

 

 Den Kartenrohling habe ich dann mit der größeren der beiden Ticket-Stanzen im Love Coupon Set gemacht. Ich habe sie aus einem gefalteten Stück schwarzen Cardstocks gestanzt und dabei die Falz ganz knapp vor der Ende der oberen Kante angelegt. Darauf habe ich dann das kleinere Ticket mit der Szene angeklebt.

 I created the card base using the larger of the two tickets from the  Love Coupon set. I die cut it from a folded piece of black cardstock, placing the folded edge of the cardstock just a hint before the cutting edge of the die. Then I adhered my smaller ticket with the scene to it.

 

Als Deko habe ich zwei kleine rosafarbene Herzen über dem Papagei angebracht. Und weil der untere Teil der Karte irgendwie zu leer wirkte, mir weitere Blätter hier aber nicht gefallen haben, habe ich einfach mit einer alten Wellen-Randstanze einen Sreifen ausgestanzt und ihn unten quer auf den hellblauen Cardstock geklebt.

 

As decoration I added two small pink clay hearts above the parrot's head. And because the bottom of the card seemed too plain, but I didn't like any more leaves down there I simply used an old scallop edge handheld punch and punched that from a piece of black cardstock. This I glued across the bottom of the light blue cardstock.

 

Noch eine Shaker Flap Karte

 Heute zeige ich Euch die Shaker Flap Karte, von der ich Euch im Oktober bei der Halloween-Version der Karte schon erzählt habe. Inzwischen ist sie nämlich übergeben worden.

Today I am sharing with you the Shaker Flap card that I told you about back in october when I shared the halloween version a little ago. Because the card has been handed out by now.

 

Der Aufbua ist hier identisch zu dem der Halloween-Karte nur ist sie natürlich geburtstags-tauglich dekoriert. Und hier öffnen sich die Klappen nicht zu den Seiten, sondern nach oben und unten. Aber das seht Ihr gleich.

 

This card is made identical to the Halloween card, just decorated for a birthday of course. And here the flaps don't open to the left and right but top and bottom. But you'll see that in just a few minutes.

  

 Der Shaker ist hier ein großer Luftballon und mit der Perfect Fit Balloon Stanze von MFT gemacht. Ich habe ihn wieder zweimal aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und beide Teile mit Distress Ink Ground Espresso schattiert. Dann habe ich das Innenleben eines der Teile herausgeschnitten, es mit Acetate hinterlegt und den Shaker mit kleinen bunten Kugeln, winzigen durchsichtig-irisierenden Kügelchen sowie einigen silbernen, gelben und weißen Konfetti gefüllt. Da die Kugeln hier doch etwas größer waren, musste ich zwei Lagen 3D Tape für den Shaker benutzen.

Für die Deko habe ich ein Birthday dreimal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und auf eine Schattenlage aus matt silbernem Cardstock geklebt. Eigentlich befindet sich ein Happy über dem Wort Birthday, so dass ich die Schattenlage - die beide Worte komplett hinterlegt - mit der Schere anpassen musste. Den i-Punkt habe ich durch ein weißes Herz ersetzt und rund um den Text drei Sterne aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock verteilt.

Das kleine Happy darüber ist aus dem Bubbles of Joy Set von LawnFawn und mit weißem StazOn direkt auf die Folie des Shakers gestempelt. 

 

Here the shaker is a large balloon, made with the Perfect Fit Balloon die by MFT. Again I cut it two times from red cardstock and shaded both pieces with Distress Ink Ground Espresso. Then I cut out the inside of one of the balloons, backed it with acetate and filled the shaker with some small plastic balls in different colors, tiny transparent-iridescent pearls and some silver, yellow and white foil confetti. The balls were a bit larger here so I had to use two layers of foam tape to make them able to move.

For the decoration I die cut a birthday three times from white cardstock and glued it onto a shadow layer, cut from matte silver metallic cardstock. There's originally a happy above the word birthday so I had to use my scissors to change the shadow, that backs both words together. The tittle of the i I replaced with a white clay heart and put some stars, cut from matte-silver metallic cardstock, around the text. 

The small happy above the word birthday is from Bubbles of Joy by LawnFawn and stamped with white StazOn directly onto the acetate. 

 

 Die Schnur des Ballons wollte ich eigentlich kürzen, fand es dann aber ganz lustig, dass sie über den Rand der Karte hinausgeht. Außerdem kann man an ihr den Shaker gut aufklappen. Die Schnur habe ich aus drei Lagen grauen Cardstocks und obenauf einer Lage aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gemacht, so dass sie auch schön stabil ist und nicht verknickt werden kann. Um das untere Ende des Ballons habe ich dann noch silbernes Twine gewickelt und zur Schleife gebunden.

 

I had plannned to shorten the balloon string  but then liked how it went out over the edge of the card. It's also great to open the shaker flap. I made the string from three layers of grey cardstock with a layer cut from matte-silver metallic cardstock on top so it's nice and sturdy and also can't be bent inside an envelope. I wrapped some silver twine around the bottom of the balloon and tied it to a bow.

 

 Der Hintergrund besteht aus Cardstock in etwas kräftigerem Blau. Ich habe ihn mit Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon und Uncharted Mariner gewischt und den hellsten Bereich dabei hinter dem Ballon gestaltet. Auf den Cardstock habe ich silberne Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Mit Wolkenstanzen diverser Hersteller habe ich dann Wolken aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und sie auf der Karte verteilt aufgeklebt.

Der Text ist wieder hinter dem Shaker versteckt. Ich habe hier ein Make a Wish aus dem Birthday Greetings Stempelset von WaffleFlower mit schwarzer Tinte direkt auf den Hintergrund gestempelt. Der kleine Text darunter ist aus Bubbles of Joy von LawnFawn und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

Als Deko habe ich einige weitere matt-silberne Sterne sowie ein paar klare Glitzersteine auf dem Hintergrund verteilt aufgeklebt.

 

The background is made from blue cardstock. I inked it with Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon and Uncharted Mariner, creating the lightest area around the balloon. I added splatters of silver metallic watercolor to the background.

Using cloud dies from different brands I die cut clouds from white cardstock and glued them onto the background.

The text is again hidden behind the shaker. I stamped a "make a whish" from Birthday Greetings by WaffleFlower with black ink directly onto the background. The small subtext is from Bubbles of Joy by LawnFawn and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

As decoration I added more stars, cut from matte-silver metallic cardstock, and some clear rhinestones to the card.

 

 Der Hintergrund im Inneren der Karte besteht diesmal aus weißem Cardstock, mit dem ich auch die Rückseite des blauen Cardstocks beklebt habe.

Und wieder habe ich für den weißen Rand rund um die Karte alles auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks geklebt. 

 

The background inside the card is made from white cardstock. I also covered the back of the blue cardstock with a piece of white cardstock.

And again I glued my card to a piece of white cardstock to have that white edge around my card.

 

Eine affige Karte - oder so

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Von Create a Smile gibt es ja zu jeder Bestellung einen Mini-Stempel als Goodie. Bis auf die erste Serie habe ich die alle komplett - und ja, auch hier schlägt das Full-Set-Syndrom zu - und das auch dank der Tauschwilligen in der FB-Gruppe. Nun gibt es eine neue Serie und ich habe hier einen Affen aus einer älteren Kollektion gegen einen Affen aus der ganz neuen getauscht. Ich finde es immer schön, wenn die Karte, mit der der Tauschstempel kommt, dann auch irgendwie zum Tausch passt. Und so habe ich diese Affenkarte gewerkelt. Der Affe unten ist übrigens der, den ich in Mini ertauscht habe....

 Der zweite Affe, den ich doppelt hatte, hat leider nicht so ganz ins Kartenkonzept gepasst.  

 

Hello everyone!

With every Create a Smile order you get a mini stamp as a gift. I have all the series except the first one complete - and yes, Full-Set-Syndrom also kicks in here - also because of the exchange post in the FB group. A new series just started and I exchanged a monkey from an older series with the one from the new series. I always like  when the card I send the mini stamp in goes with the exchanged image(s). So I made this monkey card, the monkey on the bottom is the one I got as a mini.

The second monkey, that I had a second one of, didn't fit the card concept.

 

Da der ertauschte Affe mit dem Bananen-Telefon  telefoniert, kam mir die Idee, die Karte optisch in zwei Teile zu teilen und in jedes einen telefonierenden Affen zu setzen. 

Ich habe hier aus schwarzem Cardstock den Peppermint Stripes Backdrop von LawnFawn ausgestanzt und bis auf einen Streifen etwa in der Mitte alle anderen Streifen weggeschnitten. Damit er in die richtige Richtung geht, habe ich das Stanzteil dann auch noch aufs Gesicht gelegt. 

Den oberen/rechten Teil habe ich mit blauem, den unteren/linken Teil mit grünem Cardstock hinterlegt. Die Cardstockstücke habe ich jeweils mit Distress Ink (Rustic Wilderness und Salty Ocean) ein wenig gewischt und dann auf beide Teile weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Über alles habe ich dann erst den Tropical Leaves Backdrop und darauf dann einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames, beides ebenfalls von LawnFawn, geklebt. Den Blätterrahmen habe ich aus hellgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und die Blätter mit Copics in unterschiedlichen Grünkombis coloriert. Den Rahmen obenauf habe ich wieder aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt.

 

The monkey I got in exchange is one making a call with his banana phone. So I got the idea, to seperate the card into two areas and put one monkey with a banana phone onto each.

I die cut the Peppermint Stripes Backdrop by LawnFawn from black cardstock and cut off all the stripes except one, that's placed about in the center. To have the stripe go the right direction I also turned the die cut on its face.

 I backed the upper/right half with blue, the lower/left one with green cardstock. I inked both pieces lightly with Distress Ink (Rustic Wilderness and Salty Ocean) and then spalttered white acrylic paint onto both pieces.

I first put the Tropical Leaves Backdrop on top of the background and then, on top of that, a Stitched Rectangle Frame, both again from LawnFawn. I die cut the leaf frame from light green cardstock and colored the leaves in different combinations of greens with Copics.  The frame on top I die cut again from black cardstock.

 

 Der Affe auf der rechten Seite hängt mit seinem Schwanz von einer Liane herab. Eigentlich hält er keine Banane in der Hand, die ist einzeln im Set enthalten. Ich habe den zweiten Arm des Affen abgeschnitten und nur das vordere Ende als Hand an die Banane geklebt.

Die Sprechblase ist aus dem All the Speech Bubbles Stempelset von LawnFawn, das "hallo?!" darin aus dem Am Telefon Set von Create a Smile. Ich habe die Sprechblase gelb coloriert und mit schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt. 

 

The monkey on the right side is dangling from a vine, that he's clinging to with his tail. Originally he doesn't hold a banana, this is an individual image from the set. I cut off the second arm of this monkey and glued just the end to the banana to create a hand.

The speech bubble is from All the Speech Bubbles by LawnFawn, the "hello?!" I stamped into it is from Am Telefon by Create a Smile. I colored the speech bubble yellow and put a black shadow behind it.

 

 Der Affe im linken Teil der Karte ist tatsächlich so im Set enthalten. Auch hier habe ich eine Sprechblase mit dem selben Text angebracht und habe nur die Spitze, die unten an den Sprechblasen angebracht ist, durch eine in die andere Richtung zeigende ersetzt. 

Alle Motive habe ich mit Copics coloriert. 

Zwischen den beiden Bananen-Telefonen habe ich dann noch ein klassisches Telefonkabel gespannt. Da ich hier keine passende Stanze hatte, habe ich einfach viermal die Luftschlange aus dem Balloon Shaker Window and Frame Set von MFT  aus schwarzem Glossy-Cardstock gestanzt und an den Enden aneinander geklebt. Eines der Teile habe ich dabei umgedreht. Wer erinnert sich auch noch daran, wie sich das Telefonkabel immer verheddert hat...?

Auf der rechten Seite habe ich unten dann auch noch ein "vielen lieben Dank" als Text aufgeklebt. Das ist aus dem Set Bunte Texte von Create a Smile und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

 

The monkey in the left half of the card is actually drawn like this. Again I  added a speech bubble with the same text, I just changed the "tip" at the bottom of the speech bubble with one that points in the other direction.

I colored all images with Copics.

Between those two banana phones I added a phone cord. I didn't have a die for that so I simply cut the streamers from Balloon Shaker Window and Frame by MFT four times from black glossy cardstock and glued the pieces together. I turned one of the pieces. Who else remembers the way the phone cord always got twisted....?

On the right bottom of the card I also added a "thank you so much" text, that I white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

 

 Zwischen den einzelnen Lagen der Karte befindet sich jeweils 3D Tape. 

Als Deko habe ich einige kleine Herzen aufgeklebt - weiße im blauen, blaue im grünen Bereich der Karte und neben dem Text. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I put foam tape between the different layers of the card.

As decoration I added some small clay hearts - white ones in the blue, blue ones in the green area of the card and on the text.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.
