Die Halloween-Saison 2026 ist eröffnet

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Nun, es mag Euch fast ein wenig früh erscheinen, jetzt schon an Halloween zu denken. Aber am 1. August ist offiziell die Halloween-Saison bei WhimsyStamps eröffnet worden. Und - so wie letztes Jahr - darf ich auch dieses Jahr Teil des gruselig-guten Halloweeners Design Team sein.

Well, thinking of Halloween already might seem a bit early for  some of you but WhimsyStamps officially started Halloween season on august 1st. And I am thrilled that I was asked to be part of their spookily awesome Halloweeners design team again - just like last year.

 

 Und so bin ich tatsächlich schon bereit für Halloween - oder zumindest in der richtigen Stimmung für Halloweenkarten. Und meinen ersten DT Beitrag zeige ich Euch heute:

 

And so I am ready for Halloween - or at least in a mood for Halloween cards. I am sharing with you my first DT make today:

 

 Auf der Karte habe ich einige Dinge verwendet, die nicht explizit für Halloween designed wurden. Aber mit dem richtigen Motiv kann man vieles kombinieren und Halloween-ig abwandeln.

Ich habe hier mit schwarzer Tinte auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks das Wanted Poster  aufgestempelt. Das habe ich dann mit Distress Ink Peeled Paint und Forest Moss eingefärbt - absichtlich ein wenig fleckig. Denn diese Fahndungsplakate sehen ja nie aus wie frisch aus dem Drucker, schon gar nicht an Halloween! Dann habe ich etwas mit Wasser verdünntes Forest Moss und weiße Acrylfarbe in feinen Spritzern auf das Plakat gespritzt.

Den mittleren Teil habe ich dann herausgeschnitten, den Ausschnitt hinterlegt und den Cardstock mit dünnem 3D Tape wieder eingeklebt.

 

On this card I used a few items that were not designed with Halloween in mind. But you can combine a lot with a Halloween image and make it fit the occasion.

Here I stamped the Wanted Poster with black ink onto white cardstock. Then I inked it with Distress Ink Peeled Paint and Forest Moss - keeping it a bit splotchy because those wanted posters never look like fresh out of the press. Escpecially not on Halloween!

I finely splattered some watered down Forest Moss and also some white acrylic paint onto the cardstock. 

I cut out the center part, put some black cardstock behind the cut out and put the inner piece back in place, backing it with thin foam tape.

 

 Gefahndet wird hier natürlich nach Süßem - schön arrangiert in einem bis zum Rand gefüllten Kürbiseimer. 

Der ist aus dem Set Got Peepers, die kleinen einzelnen Süßigkeiten daneben aus dem Set Monster Halloween. Ich habe alle  Motive  mit Alcohol Markern coloriert und mit der Schere ausgeschnitten. Die Highlights und einige Muster auf den Bonbons habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht. Außerdem habe ich einige Teile mit goldenen Stickles beglittert. 

Links neben dem Kürbiseimer habe ich einen kleinen Text aus Doggies Halloween angebracht. Der passte hier so toll dazu. Er ist weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und in zwei Teile zerschnitten. 

 

Of course the most wanted thing on Halloween is candy - here nicely arranged in a jack-o-lantern, filled to the brim. 

The candy bucket is from Got Peepers, the individual candy around it from Monster Halloween. I colored all images with alcohol markers and cut them out with my scissors. I used a white gel pen to add the highlights and a few patterns to the candy. I also added gold Stickles to a few of them.

On the left side of the candy bucket I added a small text from Doggies Halloween. It goes just perfectly with the image. I white heat embossed it onto black cardstock and cut it into two pieces.

 

 Bei Abstempeln des Fahndungsplakats habe ich die angebotene Belohnung wegmaskiert und statt dessen im unteren Teil der Karte "sweet or sour" aufgeschrieben, angelehnt an das bekannte "dead or alive". Ich habe die beiden Worte mit dem Mix and Mingle Alphabet and Numbers set aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und die oberen Teile der Buchstaben mit goldenen Stickles beglittert. Das habe ich übrigens auch mit den Buchstaben des Worts "wanted" oben am Poster getan. 

Ich habe die Buchstaben unten auf das Plakat geklebt und dazwischen ein kleines OR aus dem Text Trick or Treat aus Got Peepers mit schwarzer Tinte dazwischen gestempelt.

 

When stamping the Wanted Poster I masked off the reward that's included at the bottom of the poster and replaced it with a "sweet or sour" text, in reference to the well known "dead or alive". I used the Mix and Mingle Alphabet and Numbers die set to cut the letters from black cardstock and added some gold Stickles to their top. I also added some to the word "wanted" at the top of the poster. 

I glued the letters to the bottom of the poster and stamped a little OR from the text trick or treat from Got Peepers between them.

 

 Ich habe das Poster auf ein Stück orangefarbenes Designpapier geklebt, die Ränder des Papiers habe  ich ein wenig mit Black Soot gewischt. Als  Deko habe ich einige orangefarbene Pailetten auf dem Poster verteilt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

 

I adhered the poster to a piece of orange patterned paper, the edges I have inked with a bit of Black Soot. As decoration I added some orange sequins.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Wie Ihr seht habe ich 3D Tape zwischen die einzelnen Lagen der Karte gesetzt. Falls Ihr Euch aber wundert, warum der Kürbis gar so weit hochsteht, hier ist der Grund:

 

As you can see I did use foam tape to put the card together. But in case you wonder why the candy bucket is so high on the card, here's the reason:

 

 Ich konnte einfach nicht anders, als einen Action Wobbler hinter den Kürbiseimer zu setzen. Das Wackeln auf dem Foto einzufangen war extrem schwierig und man sieht es nur an den Süßigkeiten. Aber das fand ich hier einfach absolut passend.

Ich habe den Action Wobbler durch ein Loch in der Mitte des Posters gesteckt, das ich dann ja mit 3D Tape zusammengesetzt habe. So steht der Kürbis nicht gar so extrem weiter heraus als der Rest der Karte.

 

I just couldn't resis adding an Action Wobbler here. It was really hard to catch the movement on picture and you can only tell is from looking at the candy. But it felt so right here.

I put the Action Wobbler through a hole in the center of the poster, then put that together with foam tape to avoid the pumpkin standing too tall compared to the rest of the card.

Am Freitag gab es wieder eine neue Episode von Craft Roulette und ich habe den gestrigen Samstag dazu genutzt, ein Werk mit den Parametern dieser Woche zu machen. Es ist keine Karte geworden, sondern ein großer Tag. Und weil ich zu einem der Parameter tatsächlich nichts da hatte, war die Episode eine Herausforderung für mich. Aber ich habe einen Weg gefunden.

Die Parameter diese Woche lauten:

Project: Tag with Pocket

Colors: Trick or Treat

Element: Robot(s)

Random: Three Strips of Paper.

Ja, im ersten Moment habe ich geschluckt...

Friday a new episode of Craft Roulette aired and I used yesterday to make my project with the new parameters. I didn't make a card but a large tag. And because there's one of the parameters that I didn't  have anything for this episode was a real challenge. But I found a way.

This week's parameters are:

project: tag with pocket

colors: trick or treat

element: robot(s)

random: three strips of paper.

And yes, I really was at a loss in the first moment.

 

Im Endeffek habe ich einen großen Tag gestaltet, den ich mit einer Stanze von Sizzix aus Designpapier mit Weltallmuster gestanzt habe. Die Lage aus weißem Cardstock dahinter habe ich dann per Hand zugeschnitten und beide Teile aufeinander geklebt.

 

Finally I decided to make a large tag, die cutting it with a die by Sizzix from patterned paper with a space pattern. I cut the white layer behind it with my paper cutter and glued both pieces together.

 

 Für die Tasche, die  auf dem Tag enthalten sein soll, habe ich die Money Pocket Stanze von LawnFawn benutzt. Da die wie eine Jacken- oder Hosentasche aussieht,  habe ich sie aus blauem Papier mit Jeansmuster ausgestanzt. Das Blau passt auch super zum Designpapier im Hintergrund. Die Teile habe ich mit Alcoholmarkern ein wenig schattiert. 

Ich habe den Knopf aus orangefarbenem Hologramm-Cardstock gestanzt, die hintere Lage, die tatsächlich eine Tasche ist, aus olivgrünem Cardstock. So bekommt mein Werk auch gleich Halloween-Farben. Durch die Löcher im Knopf habe ich schwarzes Twine gezogen. 

Und hier habe ich dann auch die drei Papierstreifen, ein weiterer Parameter, untergebracht. Dafür  habe ich je einen orangefarbenen Hologramm-Cardstock- und einen silbernen Glittercardstock-Streifen quer über den Tag und auch die olivgrüne Tasche geklebt. Den dritten Streifen habe ich benutzt, um meinen Text unterzubringen. Der Streifen ist aus schwarzem Cardstock, ich habe einen Text aus dem You're Clawsome Stempelset von LawnFawn weiß darauf embosst.  

Und weil es so schön zum Thema Roboter passt, habe ich mit Stanzen von Sizzix einige Zahnräder aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt und im unteren Teil als Deko auf den Tag geklebt.

 

For the pocket, that had to be included, I used the Money Pocket die by LawnFawn. Since it looks like the pocket of some trousers or a jacket I die cut it from blue paper with a jeans pattern. The blue also goes perfectly with the patterned paper in the background. I shaded the pieces with alcohol markers.

The button I die cut from orange holographic cardstock, the back layer, that is actually a pocket, from olive green cardstock. This way I was adding the Halloween colors. I put some black twine through the holes in the button.

And here I also added the three strips of paper that were one of the parameters. I cut one strip from orange holographic cardstock, one from silver glitter cardstock and glued both across the tag and also the olive green pocket. The third strip I used to add my text. I cut the strip from black cardstock and white heat embossed a text from You're Clawsome by LawnFawn onto it.

And because it goes perfectly with the robot theme I used dies by Sizzix to die cut some gears from matte silver metallic cardstock and added those to the bottom of the tag.

 

 Und dann musste ich kreativ werden. Das einzige Roboter-Motiv, das ich habe, ist von LawnFawn und war viel zu klein für meine Karte. Also habe ich überlegt, was sonst passen könnte und mir sind die Roboter-Arme aus dem Galaxy Transport Stanzenset von StudioLight eingefallen. Aus denen und der Kuppel des Ufos habe ich dann einen Roboter gebastelt. Ich habe ihn aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt und mittig aus dem Gesicht ein Fenster herausgeschnitten. Um das habe ich einen dünnen Rahmen aus grünem Metallic-Cardstock geklebt und es mit orangefarbenem Hologramm-Cardstock hinterlegt. Das ist der Bildschirm mit den Augen. Die bestehen aus grünen Wackelaugen, außerdem habe ich zwei rosafarbene Backen aufgeklebt. Oben am Kopf befindet sich eine grüne Antenne, die ebenfalls aus dem Galaxy Transport Set ist. 

Um den Roboter etwas mechanischer aussehen zu lassen, habe ich rechts und links des Kopf zwei Schrauben aus silbernem Hologramm-Cardstock angebracht, die mit einer Stanze aus dem Build-a-Toolbox Set von LawnFawn sind. Aus dem selben Cardstock habe ich dann noch einige kleine Schrauben ausgestanzt und auf dem Roboter verteilt. 

Ich habe den Roboter hinter die blaue Tasche geklebt. Über ihm befindet sich dann noch eine Sprechblase. Sie ist aus schwarzem Cardstock, auf den ich weiß einen Text aus dem Set Retro Game von HeroArts aufembosst habe. 

 

And then I had to get creative. The only robot image I have is by LawnFawn but it was way too small for my card. So I tried to find something I could build a robot from - and came across the robot arms from Galaxy Transport by StudioLight. I used these and the top of the UFO to create my robot. I die cut the pieces from silver glitter cardstock and cut a window from the center of the face. I put a thin frame, cut from green metallic cardstock, around it and backed it with orange holographic cardstock. This makes the screen with the eyes. For the eyes I used some green googly eyes. I also added some pink cheeks. And on top of  the head I glued a gren antenna, that is again made using a die from Galaxy Transport.

To make the robot look a bit more mechanically I glued a screw behind the left and right of the head, made from silver holographic cardstock using a die from Build-a-Toolbox by LawnFawn. From the same cardstock I also cut some small screw heads and glued those onto the robot.

I tucked the robot behind the blue pocket. Above it I added a speech bubble. I made that from black cardstock, that I white heat embossed one of the texts from Retro Game by HeroArts onto.  

 

 In die grüne Tasche kann man dann auch eine Geschenkkarte stecken. Damit die auch problemlos reingeschoben/rausgezogen werden kann, habe ich die Sprechblase an einem Streifen Acetate geklebt und das andere Ende hinter dem Roboter angeklebt. So schwebt sie quasi über dem Tag.

 

You can put a giftcard into the green pocket. To make sure it can easily be put in and taken out I glued it to a strip of acetate and adhered the other end to the robot's back. This way it's kind of floating on the tag.

 

 Zum Schluss fehlte noch etwas am oberen Ende des Tags.

Ich habe den Lochverstärker durch ein weiteres Zahnrad ersetzt und ein kleineres daneben geklebt.

Dann habe ich aus olivgrünem Cardstock eine der Regency Bow No 1 Schleifen von TheGreetery ausgestanzt, ein wenig mit Alkoholmarkern schattiert und oben auf den Tag geklebt.

 

In the end the top of my tag was missing some decoration.

I replaced the hole reinforer with another gear and glued a smaller one next to it. Then I die cut one of the Regency Bow No 1 dies by TheGreetery from olive green cardstock, lightly shaded it with alcohol markers and glued it to the top of the tag.

 

 Da die olivgrüne Tasche bereits etwas erhöht ist, habe ich den blauen Aufleger und auch den schwarzen Textstreifen jeweils mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Alle anderen Teile sind direkt auf den Tag geklebt. 

 

Since the green pocket is alreay a bit raised I only backed the blue pocket and the black text strip with thin foam tape. All the other pieces I glued directly onto the tag.

 

Und dies ist mal wieder ein Werk, das ich so garantiert nie gemacht hätte. Aber genau das mag ich an Craft Roulette - es holt einen definitiv aus der Komfortzone!

Machen wir noch den Parameter-Check:

Tag with Pocket: Ich habe einen großen Tag gemacht und sogar zwei Taschen darauf angebracht.

Trick or Treat Colors, also Halloween: dunkelblau, orange, olivgrün und silber gehören für mich definitiv in diese Kategorie.

Robot(s): hinter der blauen Tasche schaut ein - selbstgebauter - Roboter hervor.

Three strips of Paper: ein orangefarbener und ein silberfarbener Streifen quer über den Tag und die Tasche, der dritte Streifen darüber enthält meinen Text. 

 

And this is once again a project I would never have made like this on my own. But that's what I love about Craft Roulette: it definately makes you leave your comfort zone!

So, let's do the parameter check:

tag with pocket: I made a large tag with two pockets on it.

trick or treat colors: dark blue, orange, olive green and silver definately are a Halloween color combo to me

robot(s): a self made robot is tucked behind the blue pocket

three strips of paper: an orange and a silver strip are glued across the tag and pocket,  the third one of top of the other two contains my text.

Heute geht es weihnachtlich weiter - auch wenn "christmas in july" schon vorbei ist. Manchmal muss man die Feste eben feiern, wie sei kommen... ;)

 

Hello everyone!

I am sharing another christmas card with you today, even if "christmas in july" is over. Sometimes you just have to stretch a celebration... ;)

 

Auch für diese Karte kamen wieder Sets aus dem Snowglobe Card Kit von ScrappyTails zum Einsatz. Und wieder habe ich eine flache Karte gemacht. Die ist davon inspiriert, wie ich mir als Kind Weihnachten im Wald vorgestellt habe - ruhig, feierlich und minimalistisch.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück hellblauen Cardstocks. Da ich den großen Baum komplett auf die Karte bekommen wollte, ist das Format meiner Karte etwas ungewöhnlich und "frei Schnauze" angelegt. Sie ist etwa 11 cm breit und 17,5 cm hoch. Den blauen Cardstock habe ich von unten her mit Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire und Villainous Potion gewischt. 

 

Again I used dies from the Snowglobe Card Kit by ScrappyTails to create this card - and again I made a flat card. It's inspired from what I imagined christmas in the forest back when i was a kid - silent, festive and minimalistic.

The background is made from a piece of light blue cardstock. Since I wanted to have the whole large tree on my card I went with an unusual card size, just cutting it the size I needed it to be. It's about 4,5" wide and 6" tall. I inked the cardstock from the bottom up with Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire and Villainous Potion.

 

 Der große Baum aus dem Set Podium Extra Large Christmas Tree AddOn ist wunderschön. Er kommt zwar mit diversen Christbaumkugeln als Deko, die braucht er aber gar nicht. 

Ich habe die drei Lagen, aus denen der Baum besteht, aus drei verschiedenen Tönen grünen Cardstocks gestanzt und die Teile mit Alcoholmarkern nur ein ganz klein wenig schattiert. Dann habe ich den Baum zusammengeklebt und dabei den Kleber nur am jeweils oberen Ende aufgetragen. 

Hinter dem großen Baum befinden sich jeweils kleinere Bäume aus dem Set Snowglobe Wintery Forest Tree Trio Set. Die habe ich aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und von unten her ein wenig mit Black Soot abgedunkelt. 

Ich habe alle Bäume fein mit Wasser besprüht und dann Schneepuder aufgetragen - das Wasser aktiviert den Kleber im Puder, so dass es an den feuchten Stellen kleben bleibt. Das Wasser hat außerdem bewirkt, dass die nur am oberen Ende festgeklebten Äste des großen Baums sich ein wenig nach oben gewellt haben, was dem Baum einen tollen 3D Look verleiht. 

 

The large tree from Podium Extra Large Christmas Tree AddOn is so beautiful. It comes with several different ornament dies as decoration, but I think it doesn't necessarily need them.

I die cut the three layers of the tree from three different shades of green cardstock and very lightly shaded them with alcohol markers. Then I glued the tree together, applying the glue only at the top end of each branch.

Behind the large tree there are several smaller ones from Snowglobe Wintery Forest Tree Trio set. I die  cut these from dark green cardstock and shaded the bottom with a bit of Black Soot.

I misted all the trees with water and then sprinkled snow powder onto them - the water activates the glue in the powder so it sticks to the wet areas. The water also made the branches, that were only glued on at their tops, curl up a bit. That gives the tree an amazing 3D look.

 

 Oben an der Baumspitze habe ich als einzige Baumdeko den Stern aus dem Set angebracht. Er ist aus zwei Tönen gelben Cardstocks gestanzt. Von seinen Ecken ausgehend habe ich Strahlen mit einem goldenen Gelstift auf den Hintergrund gemalt. 

Die Sterne am Himmel sind mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht.

Und hier, auf dem oberen Ende des Baums, habe ich auch meinen Text angebracht. Der ist aus dem Set Polar Express Caboose PopUp. Ich habe ihn aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt.

 

to the top of the tree, as the only tree decoration, I added the star from the same set. I die cut it from two different shades of yellow cardstock. From its tips outwards I drew some rays onto the background using a gold gel pen.

The stars in the sky I drew on with a white gel pen.

And here, at the top of the tree, I  also added the text. It's made using a die from Polar Express Caboose PopUp and cut from yellow cardstock. 

 

 So ganz ohne Tiere geht es im Wald natürlich nicht. Also habe ich die drei Rehe aus dem Set Snowglobe Deer Trio and Street Lantern AddOn integriert. Die sind nicht so groß, so dass sie dem Baum nicht die Show stehlen. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alcoholmarkern coloriert. 

Hinter und unter dem Baum befinden sich zwei Schneelagen aus weißem Cardstock. Die geschwungene Lage habe ich einfach frei Hand mit der Schere geschnitten. Die Schneelagen habe ich ein wenig mit Shaded Lilac schattiert und sie dann hinter dem Baum angebracht. Darauf kamen dann die Rehe.

 

Of course a forest can not go without any animals. So I added the deer from Snowglobe Deer Trio and Street Lantern AddOn. Those aren't too large so they don't take all the attention from the tree. I die cut them from white cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers.

Behind and under the tree there are two layers of snow, made from white cardstockk. I simply cut the wavy one free hand with my scissors, then shaded both lightly with Distress Ink Shaded Lilac. I glued those behind the tree, then put the deer on top.

 

 Der Baum wirkt durch die etwas nach oben gebogenen Astspitzen schon so plastisch, dass ich beim Zusammensetzen der Szene auf 3D Tape verzichtet habe.

Auf den Stern und den Text habe ich jeweils gold-irisierenden Glitter, auf die Schneelagen eher bläulich-lila glitzernde Stickles aufgetragen. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

The tree already looks so dimensional with its bent up branch tips that I didn't use any foam tape when putting the scene together.

I applied some gold-iridescent glitter to the star and text, onto the snow layers I put down a bit of more blue-ish purple iridescent Stickles. Then I glued the card panel to a white card base.

 

Sweet Summer

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Zitronen sind beim Kartenbasteln im Sommer ja immer ein Ding - dieses Jahr habe ich aber das Gefühl, sind sie besonders stark vertreten. Auch auf meiner heutigen Karte finden sie sich. Und auch wenn ich Zitronenlimonade so gar nicht mag, die auf der Karte schaut doch irgendwie lecker erfrischend aus.

During summer lemons are always a thing in cardmaking - but this year it feels like they are extremly present. I also put some on today's card. And even if I don't like lemonade in real life, the one on my card looks like a yummy refreshment to me. 

 

Ich wollte nicht schon wieder einen hellblauen Hintergrund für meine Karte. Also habe ich dunkelgrünen Cardstock genommen und den oberen Teil ein wenig mit Distress Ink Black Soot gewischt. Und weil sonst wirklich viel los ist auf meiner Karte, habe ich auf Splatter verzichtet.

 

I didn't want to go with a light blue background again for this card. So instead I used some really dark green cardstock and darkened the top edge with some Distress Ink Black Soot. And because there's a lot going on here I skipped any splatters. 

 

 Von der oberen Kante der Karte hängen unzählige Äste mit Zitronen sowie -blüten herab. Irgendwie lösen die bei mir sofort Urlaubsgefühle aus. 

Ich habe hier die Lemon Vine Border von LawnFawn benutzt und sie einige Male aus hellgrünem Cardstock gestanzt. Außerdem habe ich die Zitronen aus dem Set sowie die etwas größeren ganzen Zitronen  aus Lemon Border aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt. Die habe ich ein wenig mit Mustard Seed und Wild Honey gewischt und einige der Zitronen an einer Seite ein wenig mit Twisted Citron eingefärbt, so als wären sie noch nicht ganz reif. Die Zweige habe ich mit ein wenig Peeled Paint schattiert. Die Blüten habe ich aus weißem, die Blütenmitten aus dunkelgelbem Cardstock gestanzt. 

Ich habe die Äste teilweise in kleinere Teile geschnitten und alles entlang des oberen Rands der Karte angeklebt. 

 

From the top edge of my card there are dangling a bunch of lemon tree branches with lemons and blossoms. Somehow those always put me in a vacation mood.

I used the Lemon Vine Border by LawnFawn here and cut it several times from light green cardstock. I also cut the lemons from the set and the slightly larger ones from Lemon  Border from yellow cardstock. I inked them with a bit of Mustard Seed and Wild Honey and added a bit of Twisted Citron to one side of a few of them, just as if they aren't ripe yet. The branches I inked with a bit of Peeled Paint. I cut the blossoms from white, their centers from darker yellow cardstock.

I cut some of the branches into smaller pieces and glued everything along the top edge of the card.

 

 In der Mitte meiner Karte befindet sich dann ein Krug mit frischer Zitronenlimonade. 

Der Krug ist mit dem Build-a-Drink Pitcher Set gemacht. Und auch wenn es ein wenig so aussieht, habe ich keinen Shaker gebastelt. Ich habe den Rand aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alcohol Markern ein wenig hellblau schattiert. Dahinter befindet sich eine Lage Acetate und die Limonade. Die habe ich aus gelbem Vellum gestanzt und die ebenfalls im Set enthaltene Linienstanze verwendet, um den oberen Teil wegzustanzen. 

Im Krug befinden sich dann einige Eiswürfel, die ich aus Vellum gestanzt habe, sowie Zitronenscheiben. Die sind aus der Lemon Border ausgeschnitten. Außerdem habe ich einen Strohhalm in den Krug gesteckt. Sieht ein wenig nach Eimer-Saufen aus, aber im Sommer kann man schon mal Durst haben! Der Strohhalm ist aus Build-a-Drink und aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Dann habe ich einige hellgrüne Streifen aufgemalt. 

Vor dem Krug befindet sich ein weiterer Zitronenzweig, außerdem habe ich hier zwei Zitronenspalten aus dem Pitcher-Set angebracht. Und damit der Krug nicht auf der Karte schwebt, habe ich ein schmales Oval aus hellgrün-weiß kariertem Cardstock ausgestanzt und unter den Krug gesetzt. 

Direkt auf den Krug habe ich dann meinen Text geklebt. Ich habe das Wort "summer" aus  dunkelgrünem Carstock sowie einem weiteren Stück des weiß-grün karierten Designappiers mit der Summer Vibes Stanze von Create a Smile ausgestanzt und das Vibes darunter mit der Schere weggeschnitten. Das kleine Wort Sweet ist dann aus dem Set Make Lemonade AddOn von LawnFawn und weiß auf dunkelgrünen Cardstock embosst. 

 

In the center of my car there's a pitcher filled with fresh homemade lemonade.

The pitcher is made using the Build-a-Drink Pitcher set by LawnFawn and even if it looks like it, I did not create a shaker here. I die cut the ouline from white cardstock and shaded them a very light blue with alcohol markers. Behind it I put a layer cut from acetate and then the lemonade. I cut that from yellow vellum and used the line die from the set to cut off the top.

Inside the pitcher there are some ice cubes, that I cut from vellum, and some lemon slices. I cut those out of the Lemon Border. And I tucked a paper straw into the pitcher. Well, it reminds me a bit of "bucket drinking" but the thirst can be huge in summer. The straw is from Build-a-Drink and cut from white cardstock. Then I added some light green stripes to it.

I added another lemon branch in front of the pitcher and two lemon slices next to it. And to make sure the pitcher isn't floating on the card I die cut a thin oval from white and green gingham paper and put that under the pitcher. 

Directly onto the pitcher I added my text. The word summer is cut from dark green cardstock and the same white and green gingham paper using the Summer Vibes die by Create a Smile. I used my scissors to cut off the vibes. The small word "sweet" is from Make Lemonade  AddOn by LawnFawn and white heat embossed onto dark green cardstock. 

 

 Da die Zitronenscheiben und Eiswürfel im Krug so aufeinander geklebt doch recht dick geworden sind, habe ich dickes 3D Tape entlang des Rand des Krugs angebracht und den Krug damit auf der Karte befestigt. 

Als Deko habe ich ein paar weiße Herzen sowie am unteren Rand goldene Perlen aufgeklebt. Außerdem habe ich den Strohhalm und den oberen Teil des Worts "summer" mit Stickles beglittert. 

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Since the lemon slices and ice cubes, layerd like this, created a pretty thick layer I used thick foam tape behind the pitcher to adhere it to the card.

As decorations I added some white clay hearts and, at the bottom of the card, gold pearls. I also added Stickles to the paper straw and the top of the word "summer". 

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

LawnFawnatics Challenge #225

Das Thema der LawnFawnatics Challenge #225 lautet "let's go wild" und es sollen Tiere in ihrer natürlichen Umgebung gezeigt werden. Mit meiner Karte geht es in den Dschungel. 

 

Hello everyone!

The theme of the LawnFawnatics Challenge #225 is "let's go wild" and we're supposed to show animals in their natural habitat. With my card we are taking a trip to the jungle.

 

Momentan geht es mir oft so, dass ich mich nicht entscheiden kann, was ich denn genau machen möchte. Nicht weil es an Ideen fehlt, sondern ich fürchte, ich habe einfach zu viel Material - und somit zu viel Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Auch bei dieser Karte hat es ein wenig gedauert, bis ich mich für eine Szene entschieden habe. Dann aber ging alles ganz einfach - da ist es dann doch ein Vorteil, wenn man "zu viel" hat. ;)

Der Hintergrund besteht hier aus weißem Cardstock, den ich mit Distress Ink Bundled Sage, Crushed Olive und Forest Moss gewischt  habe. Dann habe ich Wassertropfen aufgespritzt. 

Aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen grünen Cardstocks habe ich den Bayou Backdrop ausgestanzt. Weil ich sie  übereinander legen wollte, habe ich den dunkleren umgedreht. So sind die herabhängenden Lianen ein wenig versetzt und unterschiedlich. Dann habe ich beide mit Alcoholmarkern schattiert. 

Später habe ich um alles einen der Stitched Rectangle  Frames, den ich aus gelblich-grünem Cardstock  gestanzt habe, aufgeklebt. Den habe ich mit kleinen orangefarbenen Blüten aus den Stanzensets Tropical Leaves Backdrop und Magic Iris Tropical Leaves AddOn dekoriert.  

 

Recently I often can't decide what I want to do. Not because I don't have any ideas, but I am afraid I just have too much stuff - and that means too many options to choose from. With this card it again took some time to commit to a scene. But once I did everything went quickly and smoothly - and that's where "having too much" is an advantage... ;)

The background  is made from a piece  of white cardstock that I inked with Distress Ink Bundled Sage, Crushed Olive and Forest  Moss. Then I splattered some water onto it.

I die cut the Bayou Backdrop from two different shades of green cardstock. I wanted  to lay them on top of each other, so I turned the darker one onto the face. Now the vines hanging down are a bit offset and look differently. I shaded both with alcohol markers. 

Later I put a frame, made from yellow-ish green cardstock using one of the Stitched Rectangle  Frames, around the scene and decorated that with small orange blossoms from Tropical Leaves Backdrop and Magic Iris Tropical Leaves AddOn. 

 

 Zwischen die beiden Lagen mit den herabhängenden Lianen habe ich quer eine weitere Liane aus dem Tropical Vine Borders Set gespannt. Darauf sitzt der Tukan aus Toucan Do It, außerdem baumelt ein Affe samt Bananen aus Critters in the Jungle herab. 

 

Between the two layers of those vines hanging down I placed another vine from Tropical Vine Borders across the card. On that there's sitting the toucan from Toucan Do It and a monkey with bananas from Critters in the Jungle is dangling down from it.

 

Im unteren Bereich habe ich quer eine Pflanzenreihe, gemacht mit der Slimline Tropical Leaves Border, aufgeklebt. Davor sitzt, ein wenig verdeckt von einer großen Pflanze aus Critters in the Jungle, ein Leopard aus Toucan Do It. Auf der rechten Seite befindet sich eine Schlange.  Die ist, genauso wie die kleineren Pflanzen hier, aus dem Set Critters in the Desert und auf Besuch im Dschungel. ;) Nein, ich finde, man merkt  gar nicht, dass beides aus einem Set mit Wüstenthema ist. 

Auf der Buschreihe hier am unteren Ende der Karte habe ich auch meinen Text aufgebracht. Der ist wieder aus Toucan Do It und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

Dann habe  ich noch ein paar Schmetterlinge aus dem selben Set auf der Karte  verteilt.

Alle Motive auf der Karte sind mit Alcoholmarkern coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten. 

 

In the lower area I glued down a row of plants, made with the Slimline Tropical Leaves Border die. In front of it, partly covered by another plant from Critters in the Jungle, there's the leopard from Toucan Do It. On the right sie I added a snake. It and also those smaller plants down here are from Critters  in the Desert and are on a visit in the jungle. ;) No, I really think you can't tell that these images come from a desert themed stamp set.

Onto the plants down here I also adhered  my sentiment. It's  again from Toucan Do It and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. 

I then also  added  a few butterflies from the same stamp set.  

I colored all images on this card with alcohol markers and cut them out with my scissors. 

 

 Zwischen den beiden Bayou Backdrop Stanzteilen befinden sich zwei Lagen dünnen 3D Tapes, zwischen die ich dann die einzelne Liane sowie die Pflanzenreihe am unteren Ende der Karte eingefasst habe. Und  auch die  Motive sind größtenteils damit hinterlegt.

Auf die Blüten sowie die Schmetterlinge habe ich Stickles aufgetragen. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I put two layers of thin foam tape between the two  layers of Bayou Backdrop, putting the single vine and the row of plants between those two foam tape layers. And also the images are mostly backed with foam tape.

I applied some Stickles to the flowers and butterflies, then glued the card panel onto a white note card.

 

Craft Roulette Episode #329

Auch dieses Wochenende habe ich es geschafft, eine Karte nach den Vorgaben der Episode #329 von Craft Roulette zu machen. Manchmal bin ich mir da im Vorfeld nicht so ganz sicher, aber bis jetzt hat es doch immer geklappt.

Also this weekend I managed to make a card after the parameters of episode #329 of Craft Roulette. I am not always sure if I'll make it, but it worked out every weekend so far.

This episode's parameters are:

Diesmal hat es wieder ein wenig gedauert, bis ich eine Idee zur Karte hatte, urpsrünglich wollte ich ein Gewächshaus als Hauptelement einbauen. Aber dann habe ich mich spontan umentschieden.

Die Book Binding Card hat mich auf die Idee gebracht, gleich ein ganzes Buch - natürlich samt dem geforderten Streifen, neben dem die Karte aufgeklappt wird - als Karte zu machen. Die Have a Spine Stanze von TheGreetery erledigt da fast  die komplette Arbeit. ;)

Ich habe das Cover aus hellbeigem, den Buchrücken aus hellgrünem Cardstock und die Buchseiten unten aus matt-goldenem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. Im Inneren ist die Karte weiß. 

Zwischen die goldenen Seiten am unteren Ende des Buches, habe ich ein rotes Fähnchen als Lesezeichen geschoben. Das ist aus dem Have a Spine Short Story Set, der kleinen Schwester des Have a Spine Stanzensets. 

Den Buchrücken habe ich mit Distress Ink Bundled Sage, das Cover mit Antique Linen und ein wenig Frayed Burlap gewischt. Dann habe ich auf das Cover mit dem Canvas Stempel, einem alten Hintergrund von SU, eine Leinenstruktur aufgestempelt. Die ist ja quasi ein sehr enges Grid. Zum Aufstempeln habe ich wieder Antique Linen und Frayed Burlap verwendet. 

Auf den Buchrücken habe ich mit Versafine Clair Pinecone einen Text aus dem Itty Bitty Thanks  Stempelset von MFT aufgestempelt, den ich aus zwei Stempeln des Sets zusammengesetzt habe. 

 

This time it took me a bit again until I had an idea for my card. Orginally I was thinking about adding a greenhouse as the main element. But then I changed my mind.

The book binding card parameter gave me the idea of giving my whole card the look of a book - of course including the spine, next to which the card gets opened up. The Have a Spine die by TheGreetery nearly does the whole work here. ;)

I die cut the cover from light beige, the spine from light green cardstock and the pages at the bottom from matte gold metallic cardstock. The inside of the card I kept white.

Between the gold pages at the bottom of the card I tucked a red banner as a bookmark. It's from Have a Spine Short Story, the smaller version of the Have a Spine die.

I inked the spine with Distress Ink Bundled Sage, the cover with Antique Linen  and a bit of Frayed Burlap. Then I used the Canvas stamp, a really old background by SU, to stamp some kind of linen texture onto the cover. It is a very tight grid, right? To stamp the grid on I used Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap again.

Onto the spine I stamped a text from Itty Bitty Thanks by MFT, using Versafine Clair Pinecone and putting the text together by combining two stamps from the set.

 

 Auf ein Stück etwas dunkler-beigen Cardstocks habe ich dann den Rahmen aus dem Set Fall Harvest von PapertreyInk gold aufembosst. Bei diesem Stempel habe ich den gefüllten unteren Bereich mit der Schere herausgeschnitten, so kann ich ihn in einer anderen Farbe abstempeln. Ich habe hier wieder Bundled Sage verwendet. Wiederum mit Versafine Clair Pinecone habe ich dann den Fall Harvest Text aus dem selben Stempelset aufgestempelt.

Die Ränder des Cardstocks habe ich mit Frayed Burlap gewischt und den Bereich in der Mitte herausgeschnitten. Dann habe ich alles mit dunkelgelbem Cardstock hinterlegt. Den habe ich in der Mitte ebenfalls  mit Frayed Burlap abgedunkelt. Die vier kleinen Blätter  im Rahmen habe  ich mit  einem grünen Polychromo ausgemalt.  

 In die Mitte des Labels habe ich dann viele herbstliche Motive gesetzt, mit denen sowohl das Parameter Plant(s) als auch Roadside Market Colors abgedeckt sind. An so einem Marktstand entlang der Straße bekommt man ja allerhand an Gemüse und Blumen in allen Farben - bei mir ist passend zum Text natürlich schon der Herbst eingezogen. 

Die kleinen Motive sind alle aus verschiedenen Sets von LawnFawn. Im einzelnen habe ich die Sets Make Lemonade (Obstkiste), Happy Harvest (Sonnenblumen), Veggie Happy (Tomatenpflanze, Salat, Karotte,  Rübe), Garden Mouse (Blumentopf) sowie Spring Basket AddOn Fall (Füllung  der Obstkiste und Schnecke) verwendet. Alle Motive sind mit Alcoholmarkern coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten. 

Ebenfalls aus dem Have a Spine Short Story Set von TheGreetery habe ich noch die Buchecke viermal aus matt-goldenem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt und rund um das Label auf dem Buchcover angeklebt. Dazwischen habe ich feine Linien mit einem braunen Fineliner gezogen.

Und  unter dem Label habe ich noch einen weiteren Text aus dem Set Autumn Blessing von MFT angebracht. Der ist weiß auf braunen Cardstock embosst. 

 

 Onto a piece of a bit darker beige cardstock I gold heat embossed the frame from Fall Harvest by PapertreyInk. With this stamp I have cut out the solid area at the bottom - carefully with my scissors - so I can stamp that in a different color. I used Bundled Sage again, then stamped the Fall Harvest text from the same set on top with Versafine Clair Pinecone. 

In inked the edges of the cardstock with Frayed Burlap and cut out the area in the center. Then I matted the label with dark yellow cardstock, that I have darkened with Frayed Burlap again in the center. The four tiny leaves on the frame I filled with a green Polychromo.

Into the center of the label I stamped a lot of fall images, that do not only cover the Plant(s) parameter but also the  roadside market colors. On a market stand along the  road you can buy all kinds of vegetables and flowers in all colors - matching the text on my card I went with fall produce.

The small images are all from different sets by LawnFawn. I used Make Lemonade (crate), Happy Harvest (sunflowers), Veggie Happy (tomato  plant, lettuce, carrot, beet), Garden Mouse (flower pot) and Spring Basket AddOn Fall (crate content and snail). I colored all images with alcohol markers and cut them out with my scissors. 

Also from Have a Spine Short Story by TheGreetery I die cut the corners four times from matte gold metallic cardstock and glued them around  the  label onto the cover. Between them I drew lines with a brown fineliner. 

Under the label I added another text from Autumn Blessings by MFT, white heat embossing it onto brown cardstock. 

 

 Das beige Label habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den gelben Cardstock darunter geklebt, die kleinen Motive sind alle mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. 

Als Deko habe ich dann noch einige goldene Perlen auf das Buchcover geklebt.

 

I used thin foam tape to glue the beige label onto the yellow cardstock behind it, the small images I backed with thick foam tape.

Then I glued a few gold pearls as decoration onto the book cover. 

 

 Und hier zum Beweis, dass das tatsächlich eine Book Binding Card ist - und für alle, die - wie ich - mit dem Begriff  nichts anfangen können - noch ein Bild davon, wie sich die Karte öffnen lässt. Es klappt hier nur der Bereich rechts des Buchrückens nach oben. 

 

And here as proof that this really is a book binding card - and for all of you that might not know this type of card, just like me - a pic of how the card opens. Only the part to the right of the spine opens up.

 

Zum Schluss dann noch der obligatorische Parameter-Check:

 Roadside Market Colors: ich habe all die leuchtenden Farben verwendet, die die Herbsternte bietet: orange, gelb, grün, rot und ein bisschen dunkels pink. 

Plant(s): Auf meiner Karte findet sich eine Tomatenpflanze, zwei Sonnenblumen und auch das Gemüse fällt unter die Pflanzenkategorie.

Grid: Die Leinenstruktur auf meiner Karte ist ein enges Netz.

Ein Weihnachtstag in Schneekugelform

Ich hatte Euch ja bereits weitere "Christmas in July" Karten angekündigt - heute zeige ich Euch eine davon. Naja, in Wahrheit ist es ein Tag geworden, aber ich habe dafür das Christmas in July Snowglobe Kit von ScrappyTails verwendet.

I already announced more "christmas in july" cards - today I am sharing another  one with you. Well, it's not really a card, but a tag and I used the Christmas in July Snowglobe Kit by ScrappyTails for  it.

 

Hauptelemente des Kits, dessen Inhalt es natürlich auch einzeln gibt, sind zwei Podium-Stanzensets. Da Sabrina, die Inhaberin von ScrappyTails aber bereits einige dieser Podiums-Karten gezeigt hat, habe ich entschieden, eher flache Karten mit den übrigen Sets zu werkeln. Und die Tall Arch Snowglobe Stanze bot sich für ein Tag geradezu perfekt an.

 

Main element of the kit, and of course the content can be purchased individually, are two podium dies. But Sabrina, the owner of ScrappyTails, already showed several of these. So I've  diceded  to make some flat cards with the other sets. And the Tall Arch Snowglobe die set was just perfect for a tag.

 

 Diese Schneekugel ist relativ schmal, dafür aber recht hoch - für eine Easel Card fand ich sie nicht so geeignet. Deswegen kam mir die Idee mit dem Tag. 

 

This snowglobe is pretty narrow but quite tall - it didn't seem right for an easel card. That's why I got the idea with the tag.

 

 Ich habe den oberen Teil der Schneekugel aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt und ihn ein wenig mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky gewischt. Dann habe ich die Schneeflocken mit einer weiteren Stanze aus dem Set hinterlegt und eine Lage weißen Cardstocks dahinter geklebt. 

In der Schneekugel sieht man zwei kleine Elfen. Da die bis Weihnachten noch ein wenig Freizeit genießen können, bauen sie einen großen Schneemann. 

Der Schneemann ist aus dem Set Snowglobe Large Traditional Snowman AddOn. Ich habe ihn aus weißem Carstock gestanzt und mit Alcoholmarkern coloriert. Im Set gibt es Stanzen um quasi jedes Element des Schneemanns zu layern - ich habe nur den Rand der Mütze, die Ilexblätter, die Karottennase und das Fell am Schal gelayert.  Die Augen und Knöpfe habe ich mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen aufgemalt. 

 Die Leiter und die Elfen sind aus dem Set Snowglobe Tall  Whimsical Tree with Ladder and Elves Set. Eigentlich schmücken sie einen großen Weihnachtsbaum. Aber die beiden passen auch super zu dem Schneemann. Ich habe beiden einfach statt einer Christbaumkugel je einen der Stöcke aus dem Schneemann-Set gegeben. Die Arme des Schneemanns habe ich einfach weggeschnitten. 

Als oberste Lage habe ich dann noch die Grundform der Schneekugel aus Acetate gestanzt und von hinten mit einem weißen Acrylmarker einige weitere Schneeflocken aufgemalt. 

 

I die cut the top of the snowglobe from light blue cardstock and shaded it with a bit of Distress Ink Stormy Sky. Then I cut the snowflakes into it using another die  from the set and put a layer of white cardstock behind them.

Inside the snowglobe there are two little elves. They still have a bit of free time before the stressful christmas time starts. So they have decided to build a huge snowman. 

The snowman is from Snowglobe Large Traditional Snowman AddOn. I die cut it from white cardstock and colored him with alcohol markers. In the set there is nearly a die to layer each part of the snowman - I only used the brim of the hat, the holly leaves, the carrot nose and the fur on the scarf, the eyes and buttons I drew with a black Glaze pen. 

The ladder and elves are from Snowglobe Tall Whimsical Tree with Ladder and Elves set. Originally those two elves are decorating a christmas tree but they work great with the snowman as well. Instead of an ornament I let each of them hold a stick from the snowman set, I cut off the snowman's arm with my scissors.

For a top layer I also die cut the  snowglobe top from acetate and used a white acrylic marker to add some snowflakes to its back.

 

 Die Teile der Schneekugel-Basis habe ich aus hell- und dunkelbraunem Cardstock gestanzt und ein wenig schattiert. Hinter der Basis konnte ich dann auch gut das Acetate ankleben und dabei den Kleber verstecken. 

Auf dieses Holzteil habe ich dann "to" und "from" geklebt. Das habe ich aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und dafür zwei kleine Stanzen aus dem Pop Up Envelope Set benutzt. Als Deko habe ich dann noch zwei kleine rosafarbene Herzen aufgeklebt.

 

I die cut the pieces for the snowglobe base from light and dark brown cardstock and also  shaded them with markers. Behind this base I was able to glue  down the acetate top and hide the glue behind that  base.

 Onto the base I glued a small "to" and "from", cut from green cardstock using two small dies from Pop Up Envelope. As decoration I added two small  pink clay hearts.

 

 Um aus der Schneekugel einen Anhänger zu machen, habe ich einen Streifen weißen Cardstocks zugeschnitten und mit der Crop-a-Dile ein Loch hineingestanzt. Außerdem habe ich die Kante mit der Schere abgerundet. Diesen  Cardstockstreifen habe ich dann hinter die weiße Lage hinter den Schneeflocken geklebt und eine weitere Lage weißen Cardstocks dahinter gesetzt. Das gibt dem Tag zusätzlich Stabilität, außerdem kann man darauf auch noch einen persönlichen Gruß schreiben.

Die Nahtstelle habe ich dann mit einer grünen Schleife verdeckt. Die ist aus dem Large Moving Podium Base Set und wieder mit Alcoholmarkern coloriert. Hinter ihr konnte ich auch den Kleber, mit dem ich die Acetate-Lage am oberen Ende der Schneekugel angeklebt habe, verdecken.

Auf der Rückseite befindet sich dann eine weitere Schleife und auch eine weitere Schneekugelbasis. So sieht der Tag auch von hinten sauber aus.

Durch das Loch in dem weißen Streifen habe ich zum Schluss noch grünes Twine gezogen.

 

To turn the snowglobe into a tag I cut a strip from white cardstock and used my Crop-a-Dile to cut a hole into it. Then I rounded the strip with my scissors. I glued this cardstock strip behind the white snowflake layer and then glued another white layer on top. That makes the tag more sturdy and also leaves room for some personal greetings. 

I've hidden the spot where the strip comes out of the snowglobe top with a green bow. It's from Large  Moving Podium Base and again colored  with alcohol markers. Behind it I was also able to hide the glue that I used to attach the acetate top to the background. 

On the back of the tag I also added a bow and a base to make the back of the tag look nice, too.

Through the hole in the hanger I put a piece  of green twine.
