Craft Roulette Episode #328

Inzwischen habe ich es mir zu einer Art Routine gemacht, samstags eine Karte nach den Vorgaben von Craft Roulette zu machen. Das läuft ja immer Freitag nachts unserer Zeit... Diese Karte ist für Episode #328 und die Vorgaben, die das Rad ermittelt hat, waren diesmal:

Since a few weeks I have made it some kind of routine to pass the saturday with making a card after the parameters ofr Craft Roulette. The show runs friday night my time.... This card I made for episode #328 and the parameter the wheel has brought up are:

project: A2 card

colors: tutti frutti

element: container

random: unusual color(s).

 

Nun, Container lässt wieder viel Freiraum für Ideen und auch Auslegungen. Da ich das Farbschema  Tutti Frutti nicht unbedingt mit Früchten kombinieren wollte, habe ich alles wie Schüsseln, Einkauftaschen, Körbe etc. für mich ausgeschlossen und kam ziemlich schnell auf eine Sardinenbüchse. Der Rest hat sich dann beim Basteln von selbst ergeben.

Der Hintergrund ist ein mit Distress Inks Dried Marigold, Wild Honey und Picked Raspberry gewischtes Stück weißen Cardstockstocks. Um ihn etwas interessanter zu machen habe ich erst Distress Mica Spray in den Farben Antique Bronze, Winterberry und Cocktail Party aufgespritzt, die passen ganz gut zu den zum Wischen verwendeten Farben. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich dann mit weißer Pigment-Tinte den Scallop Stripes Background von MFT aufgestempelt. 

 

Well, container once again leaves a lot of freedom for ideas and ways to interpret that. I knew I didn't want to combine the tutti frutti colors with fruits an so I didn't want to use anything like bowls, shopping bags, baskets etc. I pretty quickly thought of a sardine tin. The other ideas just popped up in my head during the making of this card.

The background is a piece of white cardstock that I inked with Distress Ink Dried Marigold, Wild Honey and Picked Raspberry. To make it a bit more interesting I first sprayed on some Distress Mica Spray in the colors Antique Bronze, Winterberry  and Cocktail Party. These match the colors I had used to ink the white cardstock pretty well. After the background had dried I used some white pigment ink to stamp the Scallop Stripes Background by MFT on top.

 

 Für meine Sardinenbüchse habe ich Stanzen aus dem Set Packed with Love von HeroArts mit der Sardine Tin und dem passenden Stempelset von Magnolia kombiniert. 

Ich dachte mir, wenn schon "unusual colors" dann soll sich das Thema auch durch die  komplette Karte ziehen. Der orange-pinke Wellenhintergrund hat den Anfang gemacht, meine Sardinenbüchse habe ich aus gelbem Cardstock gemacht. Die sind eigentlich ja eher blau oder türkis. Der Boden besteht aus einem etwas dunkleren Ton, den Deckel habe ich mit Alkoholmarkern schattiert. Auf den Deckel habe ich mit schwarzer Tinte das "Deckelmotiv" von Magnolia  aufgestempelt, dann habe ich den oberen Teil weggeschnitten, die Kante aufgerollt und den "Schlüssel" hineingeschoben. Den habe ich, genauso wie die silbernen Ränder, aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks gestanzt, auf das ich mit doppelseitigem Tape vollflächig Alufolie - matte Seite nach oben - aufgeklebt habe. 

Den Rand der Büchse habe ich mit drei Lagen aus schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt, damit die Fische  etwas mehr Platz haben. Die Fische sind, genauso wie die Elemente für die Büchse, aus dem Packed with Love Stanzenset von HeroArts. Ich habe mich für pinkfarbene Fische entschieden - jeder Fisch besteht aus einem hellen und einem dunklen Fisch. Von den dunklen Fischen habe ich die Köpfe abgeschnitten und sie dann auf die helleren Fische aufgeklebt. Auch hier habe ich die Teile mit Alkoholmarkern schattiert. Außerdem habe ich Stickles auf die Fischschuppen aufgetragen. Und hier passten Wackelaugen, die ich sonst eigentlich nicht so gerne mag, einfach perfekt. Also habe ich die auf die ausgestanzten Augen aufgeklebt. 

Und weil Sardinen immer in Öl schwimmen, habe ich etwas Glossy Accents rund um die Fische  verteilt. 

Ich habe drei kleine rote Herzen, gemacht mit Stanzen von Create a Smile, über den Fischen verteilt. Außerdem habe ich hinter der oberen rechten Ecke der Sardinenbüchse einen kleinen Text angebracht. Der ist aus dem Sardine Tin Stempelset von Magnolia und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich ihn mit einer Kreisstanze ausgestanzt. 

 

For the sardine tin I combined dies from the die sets Packed with Love by HeroArts and Sardine Tin - and the matching stamp set - by Magnolia.

I thought, if I am going to use "unusual colors" than I them on my entire card. I started with the orange and pink wave background, the sardine tin I created from yellow cardstock. Usually they come in blues or aquas. I used a slightly darker shade for the bottom, the lid I shaded with alcohol markers. Onto the lid I stamped the "sardine tin lid image" by Magnolia, then I cut away the top, rolled the edge up and tucked the "key" into it. I die  cut that and also the silver brims of the tin from some white cardstock, that I had covered with some tin foil - matte side up - using wide doublesided tape. 

The brim of the tin I backed with three layers cut from black cardstock so my fish have a bit of room. The fish, and also the tin, are from Packed with Love by HeroArts. I decided to go with pink fish - each fish is made from a light and a dark layer. I cut off the head of the dark layers and then glued the body onto the fish cut from lighter cardstock. Again I shaded the pieces with alcohol markers. I also applied some Stickles to the fish' scales. And here some googly eyes - that I don't like with most images - were just perfect. So I glued some onto the eyes that get cut into the heads. 

And because sardines usually come in oil I applied some Glossy Accents around the fish.

I added three small red hearts, made using dies by Create a Smile. I also tucked a text under the top right corner of the tin. It's from Sardine Tin by Magnolia and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. Then I cut it out with a circle die. 

 

 Sardinen und Zitronen passen ja super zusammen, deswegen habe ich auch welche auf meiner Karte eingebaut. Die habe ich dann rot coloriert - gestanzt habe ich sie aus ganz hellrosa Cardstock. Die größere Zitrone ist aus dem Set Zesty Lemon von LawnFawn, die halbe Zitrone daneben von MemoryBox. 

Neben den Zitronen habe ich dann einen weiteren Text, wieder aus dem Set von Magnolia und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst, angebracht. Außerdem habe ich ein weiteres Herz auf die ganze Zitrone geklebt.

 

Sardines and lemons go together so wonderfully that I decided to put some onto my card. I colored those red - after die cutting them from very light pink cardstock.  The larger of the lemons is from Zesty Lemon by LawnFawn, the half one by MemoryBox. 

Next to the lemons I added another text, again from the set by Magnolia and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. I also glued another red heart onto the whole lemon. 

 

 Da die Sardinenbüchse ja durch den erhöhten Rand und den aufgerollten Deckel etwas höher ausgefallen ist, habe ich die Zitronen mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Als Deko habe ich einige weiße Perlen auf der Karte verteilt, dann habe ich den Kartenaufleger erst schwarz gemattet und ihn dann auf einen weißen Kartenrohling in A2 geklebt.

 Und nun noch schnell einen Parameter-Check:

Since the sardine tin with its tripled up brim and the rolled up lid did turn out a bit thicker I  backed the lemons with thick foam tape.

As decoration I added a few white peals, then I matted the card panel black and adhered it to a white card base in A2 size.

So let's do a quick parameter check:

Es wird langsam Zeit, Euch meine Karten  mit dem neusten Release von LawnFawn zu zeigen! Entstanden sind sie schon früher, aber es war einfach kein "Platz" auf meinem Blog...

It's about time to share with you the cards I made with the latest release by LawnFawn! I made some a bit ago but I simply didn't have "room" on my blog....

 

Auf dieser Karte habe ich die süßen Bienen samt Bienenkorb aus dem Set Build-a-Bee verwendet. 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus hellrosa Cardstock, den ich von unten mit Distress Ink Saltwater Taffy und Worn Lipstick gewischt habe. Dann habe ich einige Wassertropfen und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

On this card I used the cute bees and their hive from Build-a-Bee. 

The background is made from light pink cardstock, that I inked from the bottom up with Distress Ink Saltwater Taffy and Worn Lipstick. Then I splattered some droplets of water and white acrylic paint onto the cardstock.

 

 Aus hellgrünem Cardstock habe ich den Big Blossom Backdrop Portrait ausgestanzt, die dazugehörigen Blüten aus weißem Cardstock. Außerdem habe ich eine zusätzliche Blume mit dem Stiel aus Big Blossom Backdrop Landscape gestanzt. Die Lage mit den Stielen und Blättern habe ich erst mit Mowed Lawn schattiert und dann mit Polychromos noch einige Details hervorgehoben. Die weißen Blüten habe ich ganz zart mit Spun Sugar und Saltwater Taffy gewischt, für die Blumenmitten habe ich Mustard Seed uind ein klein wenig Brushed Corduroy benutzt. 

Später wollte ich dann die untere Kante der Karte noch etwas mehr füllen und habe zusätzlich noch drei Blüten mit dem Big Blossom Flowers Set ausgestanzt und hinter die großen Blüten auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Die überstehenden Teile habe ich weggeschnitten.

 

From light green cardstock I die cut the Big Blossom Backdrop Portrait, the blossoms I cut from white cardstock. I also  cut an additional flower with using the stem from Big Blossom Backdrop Landscape. I inked the layer with the stems and leaves with Mowed Lawn, then added some details with Polychromos. The white flowers I inked very softly with Spun Sugar and Saltwater Taffy, for the flower centers I used Mustad Seed and a hint of Brushed Corduroy. 

Later I wanted to fill in the bottom of the card a bit more and die cut three additional flowers using the Big Blossom Flowers set. I glued those behind the large flowers and cut the overhanging parts off. 

 

 Die Bienen und den Bienenkorb habe ich aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed sowie den Eingang zum Korb mit Brushed Corduroy gewischt. Davon habe ich dann auch etwas auf den Bienenkorb aufgespritzt.

 Die Flügel der Bienen habe ich aus Vellum gestanzt. Die Biene links hat zwei Flügel erhaltenn, bei der von der Seite sichtbaren Biene habe ich das Flügelpaar etwas schräg geknickt und hinter dem Kopf angebracht. Die Bienen habe nicht nur Arme, sondern auch Beine bekommen, jede hält eine Blume, die im selben Set enthalten ist.

Die  beiden Teile des Bienenkorbs habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt und dazwischen ein Stück weißes Twine gesetzt. Das obere Ende habe ich über die obere Kante des Hintergrunds gelegt und oben auf den Bienenkorb eine Schleife aufgeklebt. Nun sieht es so aus, als würde der Bienenkorb daran hängen. 

Aus dem selben Stanzenset ist auch das Herz, das ich mit Candied Apple eingefärbt und drei Stück davon auf der Karte verteilt habe.

Ganz oben links war dann auch noch Platz für einen kleinen Text. Der ist aus dem Set Henry's Build a Sentiment Honey Bee und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

 

The bees and bee hive are cut from colored cardstock and inked with Fossilized Amber and Mustard Seed, the entry to the hive I shaded with a Brushed Corduroy. I also finely splattered some of it onto the bee hive. 

The bees' wings I cut from vellum. Behind the one on the left  I glued two of them, for the bee that's visible  from the side I simply folded the wings and glued them behind the head. Each of the bees is holding a flower, that comes in the same set.

I used thin foam tape to put the bee hive together and put a piece  of white twine between the layers. The end I folded over the top edge of the background, then glued a little bow onto the hive. Now it looks like the hive is hanging from that twine.

From the same die set is also the heart. I inked it with Candied Apple and added three of them to my card.

In the very top left corner there was a bit of room for a sentiment. It's  from Henry's Build a Sentiment Honey Bee and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

 

 Beim Zusammensetzen der Szene kam dann wieder dünnes und dickes 3D Tape zum Einsatz. Ich habe einen der Stitcked Rectangle Frames aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und als Rahmen aufgeklebt. Zum Schluss habe ich die Flügel der Bienen und die Herzen ein wenig mit Stickles beglittert und alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

As so often I used thin and thick foam tape  to put the scene together. From black cardstock I die cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames and glued it as a frame around the scene. Then I added some Stickles to the bees' wings and red hearts and adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Die Sardinen sind los... und an ihnen scheiden sich ein wenig die Geister. Ich finde sie toll. Und deswegen dürfen sie diese Geburtstagskarte zieren.

The sardines are on the loose... and it seems that not everyone likes them. I love them. And that's why they are the star of this birthday card.

 

 Angefangen hat bei dieser Karte alles mit dem Hintergrund. Der ist aus dem Mini-Release, das TheGreetery im Mai oder Juni herausgebracht hat. Die Wellen sind einfach wunderbar - und es gibt zusammenpassende Embossingfolder, Stencils und eine Outline-Stanze. Ich habe hier alles drei verwendet. 

Zuerst  habe ich mit der Stanze zweimal die Formen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und sie mit dem Embossingfolder geprägt. Anschließend habe ich sie mit den Stencils und Distress Ink Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers und Uncharted Mariner gewischt. Von einem der Wellenpanele habe ich nur den unteren Teil benutzt und mit dünnem 3D Tape in zwei weiteren Lagen am unteren Teil der größeren Welle angeklebt. Dann habe ich alles auf dunkeltürkis-farbenen Cardstock geklebt, den ich im unteren Teil ebenfalls mit Uncharted Mariner gewischt habe.

Auf die sich brechenden Wellen habe ich mit einem stumpfen Pinsel etwas weiße Paste aufgetupft, so dass es wie Schaumkronen aussieht. Außerdem habe ich über alles schimmrige Spritzer aufgespritzt. 

 

It all started with the background here. It's from the mini release that TheGreetery had back in may or june. I love these waves - and there are an embossing folder, a stencil set and an outline die set, that all go together. I used all three here.

First I die cut the outline die two times from white cardstock and dry embossed them with the embossing folder. Then I used the stencils and Distress Ink Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Uncahrted Mariner to color the waves. I only used the bottom from one of the panels, separated it into two pieces and adhered those with thin foam tape to the bottom of the larger panel. Then I glued everything onto a piece of dark aqua cardstock, that I inked again at the bottom with Uncharted Mariner. 

I used a brush that I have cut down the brisels very shortly and dabbed some white paste onto the breaking waves so it looks like sea foam. I also added splatters with some white shimmer paint.

 

 Nun gab es im Juli-Release von TheGreetery auch Sardinen Stanzen - and die war aber kein Herankommen. Also habe ich die Sardinen aus dem Big Mouth Sardine Stanzen von HeroArts verwendet. Ich habe zwei große und eine kleinere Sardine aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und sie dann vom Schwanz her mit etwas Uncharted Mariner gewischt. Auf die Schuppen habe ich Stickles aufgetragen.

Um die Sardinen etwas geburtstagstauglicher zu machen, habe ich den großen Sardinen den Partyhut aus dem Set Silly Goose von TheGreetery aufgesetzt. Da der Hut für die kleinere Sardine zu groß war, hat sie einen Luftballon aus dem selben Set ins Maul bekommen. Ich habe die Schnur und eine Schleife, die eigentlich um den Hals einer Gans gehört, aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock, den Luftballon aus grünem Vellum gestanzt. Auf die Partyhüte habe ich dann wieder Stickles aufgetragen und den PomPom im oberen Teil durch eine dunkelgrüne Glitzerkugel ersetzt. 

 Die  Fische  habe  ich dann hinter die kleineren Wellenlagen gesteckt. 

 

 In their july release TheGreetery also released some sardine dies - but I had no chance of getting my hands on those. So I used the sardines from Big Mouth Sardine by HeroArts instead. I die cut two large and one smaller sardine from green cardstock and inked them from the tail with Uncharted Mariner. Onto the scales I added some Stickles.

To make those fish look more festive I gave the larger sardines party hats from Silly Goose by TheGreetery. Since the hat was too large for the smaller sardine I let that hold a balloon from the same set. I die cut the string and bow, that orginially goes around a goose's neck, from silver glitter cardstock, the balloon from green vellum. I applied Stickles again to the party hats and replaced the pompom at the top with a ball, covered with dark green glitter. 

I tucked the fish between the smaller layers of waves. 

 

 Für meine Text habe ich ein Birthday Fishes aus dem Set Packed with Love von HeroArts mit einem Best aus dem Set Hey Honeycomb Summer Sentiments von TheGreetery kombiniert und beides jeweils auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Das Birthday Fishes habe ich dabei gerade gebogen - eigentlich ist der Text in einer Kurve gestempelt. Diesen Text habe ich dann bannerförmig ausgeschnitten, das best rund ausgestanzt und mit einem weißen Gelstift einen Rahmen aufgemalt. 

Die beiden Textteile habe ich im unteren Bereich auf die Karte geklebt. 

 

For my text I combined a Birthday Fishes from Packed with Love by HeroArts with a best from Hey Honeycomb Summer Sentiments by TheGreetery and white heat embossed both onto black cardstock. The Birthday Fishes text is originally bent - I put it straight into my Misti. Then I cut that out in a banner shape and the best in a circle shape. There I added a frame with a white gel pen.

I adhered both text parts at the bottom of my card.

 

 Weil mir bei der Karte irgendetwas fehlte, habe ich noch eine Lage Vellum über alles gelegt. Aus der habe ich mittig erst mit den Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Stanzen von TheGreetery ein Fenster eingestanzt und dann einen der Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Stempel mit silbernem Glitter-Embossingpulver drumherum embosst. 

Das Vellum habe ich 4 cm breiter zugeschnitten als meinen Kartenaufleger und dann an beiden Seiten jeweils bei 1, 1,5 und 2 cm gefalzt. An der 1 cm breiten Lasche habe ich es hinter den türkisfarbenen Cardstock gestanzt, die übrigen Scoring Lines sind M-förmig gefalzt.  So steht das Vellum etwas auf und bildet einen tollen Rahmen für die Fische. Trotzdem sieht man die Wellen noch etwas durch das Vellum hindurch. Wie immer hat sich das Vellum beim Embossen ein wenig gewellt, deswegen ist die Lage an der oberen Kante etwas "eingedellt". Aber das stört mich nicht. 

 

Because I was missing something on this card I put a layer of vellum over it. I die cut one of the Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition dies by TheGreetery from the center and then heat embossed one of the Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition stamps around it using silver glitter embossing powder.

I cut the vellum 4 cm wider than my card panel and scored each side at 1, 1,5 and 2 cm. I used the 1 cm flap to glue the vellum to the back of the aqua cardstock, the other score lines are folded in an M shape. Now the vellum stands up and creates a great frame for the fish. But you can still see the waves through it, at least a bit. As always the vellum warped a bit when I did the heat embossing and so the top layer is a indented at the top edge. But it doesn't bother me too much. 

 

 Als Deko habe ich noch ein paar silberne Sternkonfetti auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen, oben gefalteten  Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I added a few silver star confetti as decoration and then glued the card panel to a white note topfolding note card.  

 

Best Day Ever

Heute machen wir einen Kurztrip an einen tropischen Strand. Startpunkt für die Karte war tatsächlich das Fähnchenset von Spellbinders - der Rest hat sich dann irgendwie so ergeben...

Today we are going on a day trip to a tropical beach. The starting point for this card was actually the banner die set by Spellbinders - the rest "just happened"...

 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich erst mit der Beach Scene Builder Stanze von MFT die Wasserlinie  und den Sand davor aus hell-türkis farbenem Cardstock und Graspapier gestanzt. Das Wasser habe ich dabei durch Partial Diecutting etwas höher gemacht.

Dann habe ich weißen Cardstock mit Distress Oxide Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade und Crackling Campfire gewischt und dann einige Wassertropfen daraufgespritzt. Das  Wasser habe  ich mit Salvaged  Patina und Uncharted Mariner gewischt, auf den Sand ein wenig Antique Linen und Scorched Timber eingefärbt. 

Ich habe die Cardstockstücke zusammengeklebt und auf die Wasserlinie mit einem stumpfen, trockenen Pinsel etwas weiße Paste aufgetupft. Das sieht dann aus wie der Schaum auf Wellen.

 

For the background I first used the Beach Scene Builder die by MFT to cut the water line and the sand from light aqua cardstock and grass paper. I did  some partial die cutting to make the water area a bit taller. 

Then I inked a piece  of white cardstock with Distress Oxide  Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade and Crackling Cammpfire, then splattered some drops of water onto it. The ocean I shaded with Salvaged Patina and  Uncharted Mariner, the sand with Antique Linen and Scorched Timber. 

Then I glued the pieces together and used a dry brush to dab some white paste onto the  line where water and sand meet. It looks like the foam on waves.

 

 An der oberen linken Ecke der Karte habe ich zwei Zweige aufgeklebt, die wie Palmblätter wirken. Sie sind aus dem Set Palmblätter von Charlie und Paulchen. 

Die Zweige - und alle weiteren Elemente auf der Karte, habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Ohuhu Markern coloriert.

Auf den Himmel habe ich dann noch einige kleine Wolken, die ich aus Vellum gestanzt habe, verteilt und außerdem drei Vögel aus Life  is Good von LawnFawn mit schwarzer Tinte aufgestempelt. 

 

I added two branches to the top left corner of the background, they reminded me of palm leaves. The are from the set Palmblätter by Charlie und Paulchen.

I die cut the branches - and all the other elements on this card - from white cardstock and colored them with Ohuhu markers.

I glued a few small clouds, cut from vellum, onto the sky and also stamped some birds from Life is Good by LawnFawn onto it using black ink.

 

 Die beiden Fähnchen mit den Texten sind aus dem Say Cheese Flags and Banners Set von Spellbinders. Die dritte Fahne mit dem "the" darauf habe ich hier nicht benutzt. Ich liebe es, wie die Fähnchen in der zarten Brise am Strand zu wehen scheinen...

Für die Deko darunter habe ich dann einen wilden Mix an Stanzen verschiedener Hersteller kombiniert. Das Blatt links ist aus dem Set Wild Greenery von MFT,  das Monsterablatt daneben aus Blätter 2 von Noor!Design. 

Davor befindet sich ein Cocktail, der, genauso wie das Cocktailschirmchen, die Blume und die Orangenscheibe, aus dem Set Woodland Critter Huggers Summer AddOn von LawnFawn sind. Das Schirmchen  habe ich in den Sand gesteckt - es hat beim Trinken wohl gestört.

Die beiden kleinen Muscheln daneben sind wieder aus dem Beach Scene Builder Set von MFT. Und den Sandhügel, in dem alles steckt, ist aus einem Slimline Set von Action. 

 

The two banners with the texts are from Say Cheese Flags and Bannners by Spellbinders.  I left out the third banner with the "the" on it. I love, how those banners seem to softly move with the summer breeze at the ocean...

For the decorations under those banners I used a wild mix of dies by different brands. The leaf on the left is from Wild Greenery by MFT, the monstera leaf next to it by Noor!Design.

In front of them there is a cocktail that's from Woodland Critter Huggers Summer AddOn by LawnFawn - as are the little umbrella, the flower and the orange slice. I stuck the umbrella into the sand - seems like it was in the  way while drinking.

The small seashells are again from Beach Scene Builder by MFT, the pile of sand is from a slimline die set by Action. 

 

 Die Zweige oben habe ich nur entlang der Oberkante angeklebt, die kleinen Teile stehen dadurch von selbst ein wenig nach oben. Auch die Blätter unten sind direkt auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

Die Fähnchen  habe ich mit dünnem, die Deko samt Sandhügel mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Auf das Wasser sowie den Strohhalm, das Schirmchen  und die Blumenmitte habe ich Stickles aufgetragen und dann als Deko ein paar orange-irisierende Gliterzsteine auf der Karte verteilt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

The branches  at the top of the card are only adhered to the background along the  top edge - that makes the rest stand/curl up a bit. Also the leaves at the bottom of the card are glued directly onto the background. 

I backed the banners with thin, the decoration and sand with thick foam tape. 

I applied some Stickles onto the water and the paper straw, the umbrella and the flower center. Then I added some orange iridescent rhinestones to the card as decoration.

As the last step I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

In der Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge im Juli 2026 geht es um  Pop-Up Shadow Box Karten. Die sind inzwischen recht bekannt, das Video von Jennifer McGuire, das das Thema der Challenge ist, ist aber  7 Jahre alt... Und vor kurzem hat sie eine Variante davon gezeigt, bei der die Motive sich beim Aufstellen der Karte ein wenig hin und her bewegen.

Ich zeige Euch heute meinen Beitrag für die Challenge.

This month's Technique Throwback Thursday challenge is about Pop-Up Shadow  Box cards. Those are quite well known by now, but the video in which Jennifer McGuire explains and shows those cards is 7 years old.... And just a little ago she shared a version of it where the images move a bit back and forth when the card gets put up. 

I am sharing with you my entry for the challeng today.

 

Bei mir wurde es maritim. Natürlich kann man hier was Deko  und Co angeht so richtig in die Vollen greifen. Aber ich wollte einfach ein kleines  Segelboot, das sanft auf den Wellen schaukelt. 

 

I  made another maritime card. Of course you can go all wild with decorations etc on this type of card. But I just wanted to have a little boat on some waves. 

 

 Ich habe die Basis meiner Karte aus hellblauem Cardstock gemacht. Aus der Front habe ich mit den Capsule Basics Stanzen von TheGreetery ein gewelltes Oval ausgestanzt. Dann habe ich weißen Cardstock hinter den Ausschnitt geklebt und passend zum gewellten Oval eines mit geraden Kanten herausgestanzt. Durch den Cardstock wird die Kartenfront verstärkt und gleichzeitig entsteht so ein schöner Rahmen rund um die Szene.

 

I made the card base from light blue cardstock. From the front I die cut a scalloped oval, using one of the Capsule Basics dies by TheGreetery. Then I put some white cardstock behind the front and cut an oval with straight edges from it. This way the card front becomes a bit more sturdy and at the same time I end up with a nice frame around my scene.

 

 Durch den Ausschnitt sieht man meine Szene. Ich habe drei Lagen Wellen aus verschiedenen Tönen blauen Cardstocks gestanzt. Die dunkelste ist auf die Rückseite, die hellste hinter die Front geklebt. Die Lage mit dem Boot ist auf einem Streifen Acetate und zwischen den beiden Cardstockteilen der Karte angebracht und befindet sich so mittig zwischen den anderen Wellen.

Das Boot  ist mit einer Stanze von Sizzix gemacht. Ich weiß nicht wie viele Jahre ich die schon habe und ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich sie jemals verwendet habe. Nun war ihre Zeit gekommen. Ich habe es aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alcohol Markern coloriert. 

Auf die Rückseite habe ich außerdem zwei Wolken geklebt und einige Vögel mit schwarzer Tinte aufgestempelt. Hinter den Ausschnitt der obersten Lage habe ich noch eine dritte Wolke und ein Partybanner aus dem TaDa Diorama Scalloped Window AddOn von LawnFawn geklebt.

Im unteren Bereich habe ich dann quer über die Karte und auf die hellste Wellenlage meinen Text gesetzt. Der ist aus den Sets Fly High und Smooth Sailing von LawnFawn und weiß auf roten Cardstock embosst. 

 

Through the window in the front you can see the whole scene. I die cut three layers of waves from three different shades of blue cardstock. I glued the darkest directly onto the back, the lightest behind the window onto the card front. The layer with the boat is adhered to a strip of acetate, that's put between the two layers of the card base. So this layer is centered inside the card.

The boat is made using a die by Sizzix. I don't know how many years I've had this and I am not sure if I ever used it. But now its time had come. I cut it from  white cardstock and colored it with alcohol markers. 

I also glued two clouds to the back and stamped some flying birds with black ink around them. Behind the window I glued a third cloud and also a party  banner from TaDa Diorama Salloped Window AddOn by LawnFawn. 

At the bottom of the card, and onto the lightest layer of waves, I added my text. It's made using stamps from Fly High and Smooth Sailing by LawnFawn and white heat embossed onto red cardstock. 

 

 Die Karte lässt sich zum Versenden flach zusammenlegen. Wenn sie  aufgestellt ist, hat die Szene eine tolle Tiefe. 

Ich habe drei weiße Herzen um den Text verteilt und auf das Fähnchen am Boot sowie die Wellenspitzen Stickles aufgetragen. 

 

The card can be put flat for mailing. When it is propped up the scene has an amazing depth. 

I glued three white clay hearts around the text and added Stickles to the tips of the waves.

A few weeks ago I have started to save my saturdays to make my entry for Craft Roulette. That happened also this week and here's my card that I used this week's parameters on:

 Ich finde es so faszinierend, wie schnell man tatsählich eine Idee zu den Vorgaben hat, die man im Normalfall wohl eher weniger zum Thema für eine Karte machen würde. Diesmal hat es ein wenig länger gedauert, allerdings lag das hauptsächlich daran, dass die Vorgabe "interactive card" so viele Möglichkeiten bot und ich mich erst für eine entscheiden musste. Geworden ist es dann eine Slider Card.

Der Hintergrund  besteht aus hellblauem Cardstock, den ich von unten her ein wenig mit Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon gewischt habe. Dann habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

It's so fascinating to me how quickly I have an idea with the parameters, that I for sure would not combine/use on any other card. This time it took me a bit longer, the main reason for that was, that the parameter "interactive card" left so many possibilities and I had to decide on one first. I made a slider card in the end.

The background is made from a piece of light blue cardstock. I inked it from the bottom up with Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon and added splatters of white acrylic paint. 

 

 Im unteren Bereich der Karte befindet sich eine Wildblumenwiese mit Gras. 

Ich habe die Graslagen aus verschiedenen Tönen grünen Cardstocks gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Mowed Lawn und Peeled Paint gewischt. Nun war mir tatsächlich nicht klar, dass ink edging bedeutet, das Stempelkissen direkt auf den Rand des Cardstocks zu drücken. Das habe ich dann auf der hellgrünen Lage Gras nachgeholt um keine Vorgabe zu vergessen. Das Stempelkissen hat dem Gras zugleich etwas Struktur verliehen.

Die Blumen auf der Wiese sind eine wilde Mischung - nicht nur an Blumen sondern auch an Stanzen. Die beiden Blumenreihen sind mit einer Stanze von CC Designs gemacht. Ich habe einige der Blüten durch kleinen Blumen von LawnFawn sowie von Create a Smile ersetzt. Hinter der zweiten Reihe habe ich dann noch Sonnenblumen von LawnFawn sowie Glockenblumen von Magnolia gepflanzt. Ich habe alle Blüten aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. 

Auf der hellgrünen Lage habe ich dann noch einen Text - oder Teil meines Textes - aus dem Henry's Build a Sentiment Honeybee Set von LawnFawn weiß aufembosst. 

 

In the lower half of my card I planted a wildflower meadow with grass.

I die cut the grass layers from different shades of green cardstock and inked them with Distress Ink Mowerd Lawn and Peeled Paint. Well, I honestly didn't know that ink edging means to press the ink pad directly onto the edge of your cardstock. I did that on the lightest layer of grass to not miss any of the parameters. The ink pad also added some texture to my grass.

The flowers on the meadow are a wild mix - not just flower wise but also of dies I used. The two flower rows are made using a die by CC Designs. I replaced some of the flowers with ones from LawnFawn and Create a Smile. Behind the second row of flowers I added some sunflowers by LawnFawn and lily of the valleys by Magnolia. I die cut all flowers from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.

Onto the light green layer of grass I white heat embossed a text - or part of my text - using stamps from Henry's Build a Sentiment Honeybee by LawnFawn.

 

 Oben über der Blumenwiese fliegt eine kleine Biene mit Gießkanne, mit der sie die Blumen auf der Wiese gießt, damit sie schön wachsen können. 

Die Biene und die Gießkanne sind aus dem Set Postage Collage Gardening Tools von WaffleFlower. Die habe ich aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt und per Ink Blending etwas schattiert. Auf die Gießkanne habe ich mit Rusty Hinge zusätzlich ein wenig Rost aufgewischt. Vorne an der Gießkanne befindet sich ein kleines Dreieck aus Acetate, auf das ich einige Wassertropfen geklebt habe, die aus der Gießkanne kommen. 

Außerdem habe ich am Himmel einige kleine Wolken aufgeklebt.  

 

There's a little bee with a watering can flying over the meadow, watering the flowers and making sure they have everything they need to grow and bloom.

The bee and the watering can are from Postage Collage Gardening Tools by WaffleFlower. I die cut them from colored cardstock and did some ink blending to shade them. I also applied a bit of Rusty Hinge to the edges of the watering can to give it a hint of rust. To the "opening" - sorry, I have not idea what that part is called in english - I glued a small triangle cut from acetate and then glued some tiny water drops to it, that seem to look out of the watering can.

I also adhered some small white clouds to the sky. 

 

 

Ich habe ja schon erwähnt, dass ich eine Slider Card gemacht habe. Zieht man am Tab rechts an der Karte, fliegt die kleine Biene wirklich über die Blumenwiese und versorgt so alle Blumen mit Wasser.

Ich habe einen kleinen Tunnel in den blauen Hintergrund geschnitten. Dahinter befindet sich der grüne Tab, davor ein Streifen Acetate. An dessen oberen Ende habe ich die Biene angeklebt. Und damit sie sich frei bewegen kann, habe ich die Blumenwiese mit dickem 3D Tape auf die Karte geklebt.

 

I already mentioned that I made a slider card. When you pull the tab on the right side of the card the little bee is actually flying over the meadow, making sure every flower gets watered.

I cut a little slit into the blue background. Behind that I put the green pull tab, on top I adhered a strip of acetate. To its top I glued the bee. And to make sure it can move freely I put thick foam tape behind the flowers.

 

 Wenn der Pull Tab herausgezogen ist, sieht man auch den Rest meines Textes. Den habe ich weiß darauf embosst und wieder Stempel aus Henry's Build a Sentiment Honeybee benutzt. 

 

When the pull tab is pulled out completly you can also read the rest of my text. I white heat embossed it onto it and used stamps from Henry's Build a Sentiment Honeybee again.

 

 Ich habe die Wassertropfen und die Flügel der Biene mit Stickles beglittert. Außerdem habe ich als Deko ein kleines weißes Herz auf die Gießkanne und einige weitere unten auf die oberste Graslage geklebt. Dann habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt. 

Und zum Schluss hier noch der Parameter-Check:

- Interactive Card: Slider Card

- summer colors: blauer Himmel, saftig grünes Gras und Blumen, die bunt blühen - sommerlichere Farben gibt es für mich nicht

- Here comes the bride: eine meiner Töchter war vor kurzem auf einer Hochzeit und der Brautstrauß bestand aus Wildblumen. Das hat mich hier inspiriert. 

- Ink Edging: eingebaut auf der hellgrünen Graslage.

 

I used Stickles to add some glitter to the water droplets and bee's wings. I also glued a white clay heart onto the watering can and four more onto the top most layer of grass. Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

And last but not least, let's do a parametere check:
- interactive card: slider card

- summer colores: blue skies, green grass and flowers, that bloom in bright colors - there's nothing more summer-ish than those colors

 - here comes the bride: one of my daughters was at a wedding recently and the bride's bouquet was made from a bunch of wildflowers. That's what inspired me here.

- ink edging: done on the light green layer of grass.

 

LawnFawnatics Challenge #224

Jedes Jahr gibt es Christmas in July - und jedes Jahr sage ich, wie schwer ich mich damit tue, "gegen die Saison" zu basteln. Und trotzdem mache ich jedes Jahr wieder mit. Los geht es mit meiner Karte für die LawnFawnatics Challenge #224 mit dem Thema "christmas in july". Und das ist nicht die erste Weihnachtskarte, die Ihr von mir zu sehen bekommen werdet... ;)

 

Hello everyone!

Every year there is christmas in july - and every year I tell you how hard of a time I have crafting "against the seasons". And still, every year I am joining. I am starting with my card for the LawnFawnatics challenge #224 with "christmas in july" as the theme. And this will not be the only christmas card I am going to share with you... ;)

 

Leicht getan habe ich mich hier erstmal trotzdem nicht und habe ein Stempel- bzw. Stanzenset nach dem anderen herausgeholt. Irgendwann hatte ich dann aber eine Idee. Und so seht Ihr hier eine kleine Eule im Wald, die neugierig aus ihrer Baumhöhle schaut, ob Santa denn schon da war.... Mit dem Wach-Bleiben hat sie ja eher kein Problem!

Der Hintergrund hier besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks, den ich mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Prize Ribbon und Chipped Sapphire gewischt habe. Die kleinen Sterne habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt.

Davor befindet sich der Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop.  Den habe ich aus kraft farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alcohol Markern der Baumrinde etwas Struktur gegeben. 

 

It really took me a lot of thinking and I took out one stamp or die set after the other. But then I had an idea. And now you can see the little owl, that's curiously looking out of her tree hole, checking if Santa has finally come... Luckily she has no problem with staying up late!

The background is made from a piece  of white cardstock that I inked with Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire. I added the stars with a white gel pen.

On top of that I placed the Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop. I have cut it from craft colored cardstock and used alcohol markers to add some texture to the trees.

 

 Die Klappe im mittleren Baum habe ich mit der Schere herausgeschnitten und mit dunkelbraunem Cardstock hinterlegt. Aus dieser Höhle schaut die Eule hervor. Die ist aus dem Stempelset Simply Celebrate Winter Critters. So wie alle Elemente  auf der Karte habe ich sie mit Alcohol Markern coloriert und dann mit der Schere ausgeschnitten. 

Und natürlich hat die Eule ihren Teil des Waldes weihnachtlich geschmückt. Über ihrer Höhle hängt eine Tannengirlande. Die ist mit dem Christmas Garland Stanzenset gemacht. An den Klappen der Bäume links und rechts hat sie jeweils einen kleinen Kranz aus Build-a-House Christmas AddOn aufgehängt. Alle drei Dekoelemente sind mit helltürkis farbenen Schleifen dekoriert. 

Über der Eule habe ich dann noch eine Sprechblase angebracht. Die habe ich mit einer der Outlinestanzen des All the Speech Bubbles Sets aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und dann ein "hoo hoo hoo" aus dem Set Special Delivery weiß aufembosst. Und das ist natürlich an Santa's "ho ho ho" angelehnt. 

 

I cut off the flap of the tree in the middle and backed  it with dark brown cardstock. Out of this tree hole the little owl is looking out. She's from Simply Celebrate Winter Critters. Just like all the elements on this card I did color her with alcohol markers, then cut her out with my scissors. 

And of course the owl has decorated her neck of the woods. Above her tree hole she has hung up a garland, made with the Christmas Garland die set. To the flaps on the trees on the left and right she has hung a small wreath from Build-a-House Christmas AddOn. All three elements are decorated with aqua colored bows. 

Above the owl I've added a little speech bubble. I die cut it from black cardstock using one of the outline dies from All the Speech Bubbles, then white heat embossed a "hoo hoo hoo" from Special Delivery onto it. And of course that's done with Santa's "ho ho ho" in mind.

 

 Im unteren Bereich befindet sich mein Text, der gleichzeitig Deko ist. Die kleine Eule hat den ganzen Tag damit zugebracht ein großes "christmas" aus Schnee zu bauen. Statt des I hat sie ihren Christbaum aufgestellt. 

Das Christmas ist Teil der Giant Merry Christmas Stanze, das Merry sowie das I  habe ich weggeschnitten und alles in einem hellen Türkis coloriert. Das Merry habe ich weiß auf ein Schild aus Carrot 'bout You embosst. Den Stiel des Schilds habe ich beim Stempeln etwas verlängert und ihm beim Colorieren Schneehauben aufgesetzt. Dann habe ich es hinter das C von Christmas gesteckt. 

Der Tannenbaum ist aus Merry Mice und davor hat die Eule Kekse und Milch für Santa in den Schnee gestellt. Die sind aus dem Set Christmas Dreams. Die Schneelagen sind übrigens mit der Stitched Wavy Backdrop Landscape Stanze gemacht. Eine Lage befindet sich hinter den Bäumen, zwei weitere davor. 

 

In the lower area of the card I placed my text that's also decoration. The little owl has worked hard all day to build a large "christmas" out of snow. Instead of the I she placed her christmas tree.

The word  christmas is part of the Giant Merry Christmas die, I cut off the merry and the I and colored everything a light aqua. Then I white heat embossed the word merry onto a sign from Carrot 'bout You. When stamping the sign I made the stick a bit longer and added some snow to the sign with my coloring. Then I tucked the sign behind the C of the word christmas. 

The christmas tree is from Merry Mice. In front of/under it the owl has placed milk and cookies for Santa. Those are from Christmas Dreams.  The snowy ground layers are made using the Stiched Wavy Backdrop Landscape - there's one layer behind the trees and two in front of them. 

 

 Beim Zusammensetzen der Karte habe ich dann 3D Tape verwendet und über die Bäume, aber unter die Schneelagen einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames gesetzt, den ich aus schwarzem Carstock gestanzt habe. Da ich meine Karte in deutschem Kartenformat gemacht habe, war der Rahmen zu hoch. Also habe ich einfach den unteren Rand weggeschnitten und die oberen Schneelagen darüber gesetzt. 

Die Schleifen, den Stern auf dem Weihnachtsbaum und die oberen Hälften der gestanzten Buchstaben habe ich mit Stickles beglittert. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used foam tape to put the card together and placed one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames, cut from black cardstock, over the tree layer, but under the snow layers. I created this card in the german standard card size and so the frame was too tall. I simply cut off the bottom edge and put the snow layers on top of it. 

I used Stickles to add some glitter to the bows, the tree topper and the top of the die cut letters. Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.
