To plant a garden...

In den letzten Tagen habe ich Euch so einige Karten mit der Under the Sea Reihe von WaffleFlower gezeigt. Nun, Anfang Juni kam bereits die Green Thumb Reihe heraus. Und auch hier konnte ich dem ein oder anderen Produkt nicht widerstehen. Meine erste Karte damit zeige ich Euch heute.

Lately I've been sharing quite a few cards using products from the  Under the Sea collection by WaffleFlower. Well, beginning of june  they released their  next series Green Thumb. And again I couldn't resist some of these products. Today I am showing you the first card I made with that.

 

Wie der Name der Kollektion schon verrät dreht sich diesmal alles um Pflanzen und den Garten. 

Ich habe hier für den Hintergrund ein Stück hell-türkis farbenen Cardstock benutzt und die Ränder mit ein wenig Distress Ink Salvaged Patina und Peacock Feathers gewischt. Dann habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Entlang des unteren Rands des Cardstocks habe ich einen Streifen hell-creme  farbenen Cardstocks aufgeklebt. Ich habe noch jede  Menge Cardstock mit Leinenstruktur hier, den möchte ich irgendwann mal aufbrauchen. Als Oberfläche für meinen Pflanztisch - die Sachen können ja nicht einfach auf dem Boden stehen - gefiel mir die Struktur ganz gut. 

 

As the name already suggest this release is all about plants and gardening. 

For the background I used a piece of light aqua cardstock and inked the edges with a bit of Distress Ink Salvaged  Patina and Peacock Feathers. Then I splattered white acrylic paint on top.

Along the bottom edge of the cardstock I adhered a strip of off-white cardstock. I still have plenty of cardstock with a linen texture left and would love to use that up one day. I liked the texture for the top of my plant table - all that stuff can not just sit on the floor. 

 

 Hauptelement meiner Deko  ist ein Korb voller Samentüten. Für den Korb habe ich einfach die Basketful Base aus dem Oster-Release verwendet. Den Korb  habe  ich aus hell-, das Innere  aus dunkeler braunem Cardstock gestanzt. 

Die Samentüten - sowie bis auf die  Blumentöpfe alle weiteren Elemente auf der Karte - habe ich dann aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt. Das hat mir besser gefallen als reines Weiß. Vor dem Ausstanzen der einzelnen Tüten, habe ich die Postage Collage Seeds Details in den Cardstock geschnitten und  mit den Postage Collage Seeds Stencils die Details aufgewischt. Neben zwei braunen Tinten von SU habe ich für alles Distress Inks Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire, Barn Door, Lumberjack Plaid, Tattered Rose, Seedless Preserves, Peeled Paint und Forest Moss benutzt. Die Tüten kann man eigentlich zweifarbig gestalten, ich habe sie komplett in Braun gewischt und mit einem dunkleren Braun und einer der Stencils Schatten aufgewischt.  Anschließend habe ich die Postage Collage  Blocks Stanze verwendet um die einzelnen Tüten auszuschneiden. Dann  habe ich sie in den Korb gesteckt. 

Die Gartengeräte sowie die Raupe und die Schnecke sind aus dem Set Postage Collage Gardening Add-Ons Set. Die metallenen Teile  der Gartengeräte  habe ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. 

Für die Gartenschaufel und auch die  Blumentöpfe rechts hinter dem Korb habe ich Stanzen von LawnFawn  benutzt. Der Topf ist aus Little Flowers, die Schaufel aus Watering Can. In dem Gardening Add-On Set von WaffleFlower ist zwar auch eine Schaufel enthalten, die  war mir aber im Vergleich zu den Samentüten zu klein. Und auch Blumentöpfe gibt es in dem neuen Release, die brauchte ich aber nicht - dachte ich. Inzwischen bin ich mir da nicht mehr so sicher.... ;) Aber für diese Karte musste der Blumentopf von LawnFawn herhalten. Den habe ich aus rötlich-braunem Cardstock gestanzt, ebenfalls gewischt und dann ein ziemlich trockenes weißes Pigmentkissen einige Male auf die Töpfe gedrückt, der dadurch Kalkränder bekommt. 

Außerdem habe ich noch die Pflanzenstecker aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und auf die Schildchen, die ich aus extrem dunkelgrünen Cardstock  gestanzt habe, kleine Texte aufembosst. Der dunkelgrüne Cardstock sah fast ein wenig wie eine Tafel aus. Für die Stecker habe ich die Plant Marker Combo verwendet.

 

Main element of my decoration is a basket full of seed pockets. For  the basket I simply used the Basketful Base from the easter release. I cut it from light, the inside from darker brown cardstock.

The seed pockets - and except for the flower pots also all  the other elements on the card - I die cut from cream colored cardstock. I liked that better than stark white. Before cutting the pockets out I cut the Postage Collage Seeds Details into the cardstock and then added  color using the Postage Collage Seeds stencils. Besides two brown inks by SU I used  Distress Inks Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire, Barn Door, Lumberjack Plaid, Tattered Rose, Seedless Preserves, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss. The pockets are designed to be inked in two colors but I went with all  brown, then used one  of the  stencils to add some shading. Then I cut them into individual pockets using the Postage Collage Blocks die and tucked the pockets into the basket. 

The gardening tools, the caterpillar and the snail are all from Postage Collage Gardening Add-Ons. I cut the metallic pieces of the tools from matte silver metallic cardstock. 

For the shovel and the flower pots behind the right  side of the basket I used dies by LawnFawn. The pot is from LIttle Flowers, the shovel from Watering Can. There is a shovel  in the Gardening Tools Add-On set, but it seemed to small to me compared with the seed pockets. And there are also some flower pots in different set from this release, but I decided that I don't need  those. Well, I  might change my mind on that....  ;) But for this card the flower pot by LawnFawn did the job. I cut it from reddish-brown cardstock, inked it a bit  and then pressed a quite dry white pigment ink pad several times onto  the pots, that now look as if they have hard water rings.

I also die cut the plant markers from light grey cardstock and white heat embossed small texts onto the little sign pieces. I cut these from very dark green cardstock that kind of looks like a chalk board to me. I used the Plant Marker Combo set for the markers.  

 

 Entlang des oberen Rands der Karte habe ich dann einen Text aufgestempelt. Der ist aus dem Set Rooting For You von ColoradoCraft. Ich habe den eigentlich vierzeiligen Text auf zwei Teilen verteilt und ihn dann mit Versafine Clair Morning Mist direkt auf den Hintergrund gestempelt.

Und links unterhalb des Textes war dann noch Platz für eine kleine Biene, die  eine Gießkanne vorbei bringt. Auch diese Stanzen sind aus dem Gardening Add-Ons Set. Die Flügel habe ich aus hellblauem Vellum gestanzt. Weil der größere Flügel eigentlich dunkelbraun gestanzt wird, habe ich die Streifen mit der Schere aus diesem Teil herausgeschnitten und der Flügel ist so mit dem cremefarbenen Cardstock hinterlegt. 

 

 Along the top edge of the background I placed my text. It's from Rooting for You by ColoradoCraft. I changed the arragement of the text from four to two lines and stamped it directly onto the  background using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. 

And on the left side, right under the text, there was room for a little bee, that's carrying a watering  can. Again the dies for these come from Gardening Add-Ons. I cut the wings from light blue vellum. Because the larger wing gets cut from the dark cardstock I used my scissors to cut out the stripes and have the cream colored cardstock shine throught the vellum.

 

 Den Korb mit den Samentüten habe ich mit dünnem, Schnecke und die Gartenschere vorne mit dickem 3D Tape angebracht. Die übrigen Elemente  sind direkt auf den Hintergrund geklebt. 

Als Deko habe ich noch einige kleine rote Herz-Pailletten auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used thin foam tape behind the basket with the seed pockets, thick one behind the snail and scissors in the front. All the other elements I glued directly onto the background.

I added some small red heart confetti to the card, then glued the card panel to a white note card.

Heute zeige ich Euch eine Karte, auf der ich das Motiv aus dem Set Freundeskreis von CreativeDepot verwendet habe. Und das bot sich geradezu für eine Geburtstagskarte von mehreren Personen  an.

Today  I am sharing with you a card that I used the image from Freundeskreis by CreativeDepot on. And it was perfect to make a birthday card that will be handed  over together from a few friends.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus drei verschiedenen Tönen türkisfarbenen  Cardstocks. Auf alle habe ich an selber Stelle den Birthday Background von MFT aufgestempelt und dafür jeweils eine Tinte einen Tick dunkler als  die Farbe des Cardstocks gewählt. 

Das Cardstockstück im dunkelsten Ton habe  ich einen Ticken größer zugeschnitten als die beiden anderen, so dass ich einen schmalen dunklen Rahmen um die Karte habe.

 

The background is made from three different shades of aqua cardstock. I stamped the Birthday Background by MFT onto each, placing it in the same spot on each piece  of cardstock and using ink a bit darker than each cardstock color.

I cut the darkest piece in the background a bit larger than the other two so I ended up with a thin dark frame around my card.

 

 Aus den beiden helleren Cardstockstücken habe ich dann jeweils einen der Essential Arches von Spellbinders gestanzt und sie per  Partial Diecutting ein bisschen nach unten verlängert. Auf den sichbaren Rand des mittleren Cardstocks habe ich dann mit schwarzer Tinte ein Celebrate Today! aufgestempelt. Das ist aus dem Sending Good Vibes Stempelset von TheStampMarket und nur  einTeil eines der ovalen Textes. 

Zwischen/auf die Lagen habe ich dann jeweils eine kleine Wolke, gestanzt aus weißem Cardstock, geklebt.

 

I die cut one of the Essential Arches by Spellbinders from the two lighter cardstock pieces, making them a bit taller by doing partial die cutting. Onto the visible part of the medium colored cardstock I stamped a Celebrate Today! using black ink. The text is from Sending Good Vibes by TheStampMarket and just part of one of the oval texts from the set.

Between/onto the cardstock layers I then glued some small clouds, cut from white cardstock.

 

 Und hier ist das süße Motiv aus dem anfangs erwähten Stempelset. Ich habe die Motive mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten. Den Elefant habe ich mit einem  Papierhut aus Fette Überraschung von Create a Smile versehen, auf der linken Seite habe ich ein Fähnchen aus Elphie Selphie von LawnFawn angebracht. Auf das habe ich dann ein Überraschung aus Kleine Sprüche von Create a Smile aufgestempelt.

Der Elefant pustet eigentlich ein kleines gestempeltes Herz in die Luft. Ich habe es durch einige Herzen, gestanzt aus rotem Cardstock, ersetzt und die übrigen unten links neben den Panda geklebt.

 

And here's the cute image from the stamp set I mentioned at the beginning of this post. I colored the images  with Copics and cut them out with my scissors. I dressed up the elephant  with a paper hat from Fette Überraschung by Create a Smile, on the left side I added a banner from Elphie Selphie by LawnFawn and stamped a small "surprise" onto it.

The elephant  originally blows a little heart out of his trunk. I replaced that with a few more hearts, cut from red cardstock. The left over ones I placed at the bottom left of the card.

 

Die einzelnen Lagen habe ich dann mit dickem 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt, um der Szene etwas  Tiefe zu geben.  Anschließend habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used thick foam tape to put the card together, giving the scene some depth. Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

Beim Aufräumen der im Flohmarkt erstanden Stempel von ColoradoCraft sind mir die Stempel zum Thema Gemüsegarten wieder in die Hände gefallen. Die kamen dann gleich auch mal wieder zum Einsatz. Das Ergebnis zeige ich Euch hier.

When I was putting away the ColoradoCraft stamps I recently bought in a de-stash group I came across their veggie garden related stamps and decided to use them. This is the card I made with them.

 

Meine Schwiegereltern hatten immer schon einen Schrebergarten, aber in den letzten Jahren fiel ihnen die Pflege immer schwerer. Als mein Schwiegervater jetzt Anfang des Jahres gestorben ist, blieb nichts anders, als den Garten aufzugeben. Für den Nachbesitzer habe ich diese Karte gemacht.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks, auf den ich quer eine Reihe Gras aus dem Set Greener Grass gestempelt. Den unteren Teil habe ich dann mit Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn und Pine Needles gewischt, den Himmel mit Tumbled Glass und Mermaid Lagoon. Dann habe ich Wasser aufgespritzt.

Mittig aus dem Cardstock habe ich dann mit einem der Essential Modern Ovals von Spellbinders ein Oval ausgestanzt, schwarz hinterlegt und später wieder zurück an seinen Platz geklebt.

 

My in-laws always had  a little garden a few miles away from their house, but taking care of it was getting harder and harder for them. When my father in law died beginning of this year his mom just had to give up the garden. For the new owner I made this card.

The background is made from a piece of white cardstock that I stamped a grass border from Greener Grass across. I inked the bottom with Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles, the sky with Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon. Then I splattered some water on top.

From the center of the cardstock I cut an ovel using one of the Essential Modern Ovals by Spellbinders, matted it black and later glued it back in place.  

Der Hase war schon sehr erfolgreich mit der Gemüseernte. Er ist aus dem Set Garden Therapy. Ich habe ihn mit Copics coloriert und anschließend mit einem schmalen weißen Rand ausgeschnitten. Den Rand habe ich später passend zum Hintergrund eingefärbt, so dass er kaum mehr auffällt. 

Eigentlich wollte ich gar nicht viel mehr  auf die  Karte packen, sie sah aber doch zu leer aus. Also habe ich diverse Gemüse und Pflanzen aus dem Veg Out Hintergrund vor das Gras im Hintergrund gestempelt und über die Distress Inks coloriert. Deswegen sind die Farben auf der ganzen karte doch etwas kräftiger, als sonst von mir gewohnt. Von dem Hintergrund hatte ich mir damals gleich zwei gekauft - einen als Hintergrund, den anderen habe ich in lauter kleine Einzelmotive geschnitten. So kann ich die problemlos verwenden, ohne den Rest des Hintergrunds maskieren zu müssen. Bisschen verrückt, oder? Aber hier waren die vielen kleinen Motive perfekt. 

Unter dem Hasen, genau passend ins Oval, habe ich dann mit schwarzer Tinte den Text gestempelt. Er ist aus dem Set Veggie Stack und ich fand, er passt hier perfekt. Denn er drückt genau das aus, was der Garten für meine Schwiegereltern bedeutet hat - und das wünsche  ich auch dem neuen Besitzer. 

 

 This bunny was already very successful with harvesting his veggies. He's from Garden Therapy. I colored him with Copics and then cut him out with a very thin white edge around him. Later I colored that matching  the background so it's hardly visible. 

Originally I hadn't planned much more on the card, but that looked too plain. So I stamped different plants and vegetables in front of  the grass in the background  and then colored over the Distress Ink blending. That's also why the colors on this card are a lot brighter than you usually see from me. Back when they were released I had bought two of these backgrounds - one to use as a background, the other one I cut into a lot of individual images. This way I could use those smaller images without having to mask off the rest of the background. A bit crazy, right? But they made life a lot easier here.

Under the bunny, perfectly fitting the oval, I stamped my text with black ink. It's from Veggie Stack and I thought it's perfect here. It expresses what that garden meant to my in-laws and  that's what I wish the new owner it will mean to him, too. 

 

Oben am Himmel fliegt noch ein kleiner Vogel, der noch eine Erbse geerntet hat. Auch der ist aus dem Set Veggie Stack. 

Außerdem habe ich einige kleine weiße Wolken am Himmel verteilt. 

 

Up in the sky there's a little bird flying, delivering another pea he just harvested. It's again from Veggie Stack.

I also added some small white clouds to the sky. 

Auf dieser Karte habe ich nur den Vogel und den Hasen sowie die Zwiebeln und den Salatkopf mit 3D Tape hinterlegt. Als Deko habe ich dann noch ein paar kleine rosafarbene Herzen auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

On this card I only backed the bird and the bunny as well as the onions and the salad with foam tape. As dekoration I added some small pink clay hearts and then glued the card panel to a white note card.

Eine Freundin hat mir diesen süßen Stempel aus ihrem CreativeDepot-Adventskalender von letztem Jahr geschenkt. Deswegen und natürlich wegen des Motivs fand ich es passend, damit eine Karte zum Thema Freundschaft zu machen.

A friend gifted me this cute image from her CreativeDepot advent calendar from last year. Because of that  and of the image I thought I'd make a friendship themed card with it.

 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich aus blauem Designpapier mittig eines der Essential Modern Ovals von Spellbinders gestanzt und mit derselben Stanze und der nächstgrößten aus dem Set gleich noch einen Rahmen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt.

Hinter das Fenster habe ich dann hellpinkes Designpapier mit weißen Punkten gesetzt. Und zwischen den beiden Lagen, oben und unten mit dünnem 3D Tape angebracht, habe ich eine Lage Folie eingebaut. Auf die habe ich mit weißem StazOn und dem Cloudy Day Stempel von Create a Smile Wolken aufgestempelt. Durch die Folie schweben die in der Luft.

 

For the background I die cut one of the Essential Modern Ovals by Spellbinders from a piece of blue patterned paper and used the same die and the next larger one from the set to create a frame from white cardstock.

Behind the window I put some light pink patterned paper with white dots. Between the two papers I put a layer of acetate, putting thin foam tape between each layer. Onto the acetate I had stamped some clouds using white StazOn and the Cloudy Day stamp by Create a Smile. The acetate makes them look like they are floating in the sky.

 

 Auf das Fenster, als Hintergrund für mein Motiv, habe ich dann gestanzte Blümchen gesetzt. Ich habe die Teile aus grünem und weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Ohuhu Markern schattiert. 

Hier oben war dann auch gleich Platz für den ersten meiner Texte. Der ist aus dem Stempel Itty Bitty Love Notes von MFT und weiß auf dunkelblauen Cardstock embosst.

 

Onto the window, as a backdrop for my image, I added some die cut flowers. I cut them from green and white cardstock and shaded them with Ohuhu markers. 

And here in the upper half of the card I added the first text. It's from Itty Bitty Love  Notes by MFT and white heat embossed onto dark blue cardstock.

 

 Und hier sind die beiden süßen - nun, ich bin mir nicht sicher was genau. Für Mäuse sind die Ohren nicht rund genug, für Hasen zu kurz. Also habe ich kurzerhand beschlossen, dass es kleine Hamster sein müssen und sie in weiß mit braunen Flecken coloriert. Die Schnurrhaare auf der äußeren Seite des größeren Hamsters waren im Motiv nicht eingezeichnet, das hat mich aber so gestört, dass ich sie mit einem schwarzen Fineliner dazugemalt habe. 

Auch das Motiv ist mit Ohuhu Markern coloriert. 

Über den Hamstern habe ich eine Sprechblase mit einem ausgestanzten Herz angebracht, gemacht mit einer Stanze von MFT. Die habe ich aus rosafarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und weiß hinterlegt - das ausgestanzte rosafarbene Herz habe ich unten rechts neben das Motiv gesetzt. Links neben dem Motiv habe ich eine Blüte der gestanzten Blumen angebracht.

Und unten quer über die Karte verläuft mein zweiter Text. Der ist aus Itty Bitty Thanks, ebenfalls von MFT, und wieder weiß auf dunkelblauen Cardstock embosst.

 

And here are the two cute - well, I am not entirely sure what they are. The ears aren't round enough for them to be mice, for bunnies they are too short. So I decided they have to be hamsters and colored them white with brown spots. The larger hamster was missing the whiskers on the left side. It really bothered me, so I added them with a black finelienr.

I used Ohuhu markers again to color the image.

Above the hamsters I added a speech bubble with a cut out heart, made using a die by MFT.  I cut it from light pink cardstock and backed it with white cardstock - the cut out pink heart I put to the right of the image. On the left side I glued one of the die cut flowers behind the hamsters.

And at the bottom a second text goes across the card. It's from Itty Bitty Thanks, also by MFT, and again white heat embossed onto dark blue cardstock.

 

 Ich habe die am größten gewachsenen Blumen und die Sprechblase mit 3D Tape hinterlegt. Als Deko habe ich einige grau-blaue, irisierende Perlen auf der Karte verteilt.

Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I backed the talles flowers and the speech bubble with foam tape. As decoration I scattered a few grey-ish blue, iridescent pearls over  the card.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Sending Oceans of Birthday Wishes

Ich war gerade erst am Meer in Italien und bin quasi noch in Urlaubs- und Strandmodus. Das merkt man auch an meinen Karten, denn heute gibt es eine weitere maritime Karte. Die ist auch entstanden, weil ich ja, wie im letzten Post schon erwähnt, eigentlich die Postage Collage hernehmen wollte. Die haben aber auf die vorherige Karte nicht mehr gepasst. Und auch hier ist es fast ein wenig eng geworden. Aber dann hat es doch noch geklappt.

I've just been on at the ocean in Italy and am still in vacation and beach mode. You can tell that from my cards because I am sharing another ocean related card with you today. I also made that because, as mentioned in my last post, I wanted to use the Postage Collage. But those didn't fit that last card and also here space was kind of thight. But it worked out and so I finished this card. 

 

Bei Postage  Collage habt Ihr sicher schon erkannt, dass ich hier wieder WaffleFlower Produkte verwendet habe. 

Der Hintergrund der Karte besteht einfach aus einem Stück hellbraunen Graspapiers. Die Ränder habe ich ein wenig mit Distress Ink Frayed Burlap gewischt und dann auf den Cardstock weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Außenrum habe ich dann einen Rahmen aus Muscheln und Seesternen gesetzt, für den ich die Seashell Frame Stanze benutzt habe. 

 

When you read Postage Collage you might already have noticed that I used WaffleFlower products again here. 

The background of the card is simply made from a piece of light brown grass paper - it already has some speckles in it. I inked the edges with a bit of Distress Ink Frayed Burlap and then finely splattered white acrylic paint onto the cardstock.

On top I put a frame of seashells and star fish, made with the Seashell Frame die.  

 

 Den Rahmen habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und die verschiedenen Elemente dann mit dem dazu passenden Stencilset coloriert. Dabei habe ich Distress Inks verwendet: Tumbled Glass und Mermaid Lagoon oder Speckled Egg und Iced Spruce für die Muscheln, Tattered Rose und Worn Lipstick für die  Seesterne und Hickory Smoke und  Black Soot für die Anker. Auf die habe ich dann noch silbernes Gilding Wax aufgetupft, damit sie ein wenig metallisch schimmern. 

Mit Polychromos habe ich einige einfache Linien als Details aufgemalt und dann erst mit Wasser verdünntes Vintage Photo, anschließend weiße Acrylfarbe ganz fein auf alles  aufgespritzt. 

Später, nach dem Aufkleben des Rahmens, habe ich außerdem noch einen Schatten um die Muscheln gemalt. 

 

I die cut the frame from white cardstock and colored the different elements with the matching stencil set. I used Distress Inks for it: Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon or Speckled Egg and Iced Spruce for the seashells, Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick for the star fish and Hickory Smoke and Black Soot for the anchors. Onto those I also dabbed some silver gilding wax to give them a metallic shine.

I used Polychromos to add some details with just a few simply lines, then first splattered some watered down Vintage Photo, then white acrylic paint finely onto everything. 

Later, after glueing the frame to the background, I also drew a drop shadow around the seashells. 

 

 Für die Deko habe ich drei der Briefmarken der Postage Collage Stanze gestaltet. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und die Postage Collage Blocks Stencil benutzt, um den weißen Rand abzudecken. Dann habe ich erstmal auf jede Briefmarke ein Wellenmuster aufgewischt. Das geht ganz einfach mit einem geschwungen zugeschnittenen Stück Cardstock oder Folie. Ich habe dann von oben nach unten gearbeitet und nach jeder Farbe die Schablone etwas versetzt und weiter nach unten geschoben. Ich habe hier Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch und Chipped Sapphire benutzt und  zum Schluss von unten Frayed Burlap als Sandboden aufgetragen. Bei der kleinsten Briefmarke habe ich einige der Farben ausgelassen, die war einfach zu klein. 

Auf die so entstandenen Hintergründe habe ich dann Elemente aus dem Postage Collage Coral Reef Silhouettes Stempelset aufgestempelt. Für die meisten habe ich dabei Versafine Clair Nocturne benutzt, nur das Schiff ist mit Morning Mist gestempelt. Und auf die Briefmarke oben rechts habe  ich mit einem der Elemente aus dem Postage Collage Coastal Stencilset einen Anker aufgewischt. 

In die einzelnen Unterwasserwelten habe ich dann jeweils Fische gesetzt. Die habe ich mit Stanzen aus dem Set Postage Collage Fish wieder aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Farben, die ich bereits für den Rahmen benutzt habe, gewischt. Und damit sie später zum Text passen, habe ich jedem Fisch einen kleinen Partyhut aufgesetzt. Die bestehen einfach aus winzigen Dreiecken, die ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock per Hand zugeschnitten habe, als Bommel habe ich eine rote Perle oben aufgeklebt. Die Hüte sind jetzt keine Designwunder, aber die Fische waren trotzdem happy damit. ;)

Den Text auf der Karte habe ich dann zwischen die Briefmarken direkt auf den Hintergrund gestempelt. Ich habe dafür zwei Stempel aus dem Set Inquisitive Seagulls kombiniert - und ja, ich habe sie zum Anorndnen in mehrere Stücke geschnitten - und sie erst mit Versafine Claire Sand Dune aufgestempelt. Da das fast ein wenig zu hell war, habe ich dann per Second Generation Stamping die Texte mit Pinecone etwas abgedunkelt. Außerdem habe ich mit einem feinen weißen Gelstift Linien um die Buchstaben gemalt, so fallen sie nochmal besser auf. 

 

For the decoration I created three of the postage stamps of the Postage Collage die. I cut them from white cardstock and used the Postage Collage Blocks stencil to cover the edges and keep those white. Then I first added some waves to each stamp. This can easily be done by using  wavy cut piece of cardstock or acetate. I worked from top to bottom and turned and moved down the "stencil" after each color. I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire and then added a layer of Frayed Burlap at the bottom as a sandy ground. With the smallest stamp I skipped every other color, it was just too small.  

Then I stamped elements from Postage Collage Coral Reef Silhouettes onto the stamps. I used Versafine Clair Nocturne for most of them, only the shipwreck is stamped with Morning Mist. And onto the stamp on the top right I added an anchor by using one of the stamps from the Postage Collage Coastal stencil set.  

I glued little fish onto the stamps. I made those using dies from Postage Collage Fish and white cardstock, then colored them with the same Distress Inks I had already used for the seashell frame. And to make the fish go with the sentiment I gave each a party hat. Those are made simply by cutting a small triangle from matte silver metallic cardstock using my scissors, then added a tiny red pearl as a pompom. Those party hats won't be the star of any show but the fish are happy with them. ;)

I then stamped the text between the stamps, directly onto the background. I put it together by combining two stamps from Inquisitive Seagulls - and yes, I cut those into several pieces to be able to arrange the words as shown. I first stamped them with Versafine Claire Sand Dune but that was a tad bit too light. So I did some second generation stamping with Pinecone to slightly darken the words. I also used a fine white gel pen and drew a line around each letter to make them pop a bit more.

 

 Ich habe die Fische ein wenig mit Stickles beglittert. Außerdem habe ich auf jede Briefmarke ein paar Blubberblasen aufgetragen, für die ich einfach kleine Punkte Glossy Accents aufgetupft habe. 

Den Seashell Frame habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt und zum Schluss alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I added some Stickles to the fish and also put some small dots of Glossy Accents onto each stamp to create some bubbles. 

I adhered the seashell frame with thin foam tape and then glued the card panel to a white note card.

Heute machen wir einen Ausflug auf den Meeresboden. Und da gibt  es so einiges zu entdecken.

Today  we are diving deep down to the bottom of the ocean. And there's lots to discover there.

 

Hier kamen wieder Produkte von WaffleFlower zum Einsatz. Nun, eigentlich wollte ich eine Postage Collage Karte machen und das hier sollte eigentlich nur der Hintergrund dafür werden. Aber dann kam es anders und von Postage Collage ist hier nichts mehr zu finden...

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit dem Under the Sea Stencilset gemacht. Ich habe die Lage mit den Wellen zuerst verwendet und auf ein Stück hellblauen Cardstocks das Muster mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans und Chipped Sapphire aufgewischt. Ich habe den Stencil dabei ein paar Mal versetzt. 

Die Lage mit dem Sandboden habe ich mit Black Soot entlang des unteren Randes des Cardstocks aufgetragen und ein wenig Black Soot anschließend auch entlang der Seitenkanten aufgewischt. 

Auf den Cardstock habe ich erst ein wenig Wasser und anschließend weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

 

For this card I used products by WaffleFlower again. Originally I had planned to make a Postage Collage card and wanted this to be my background. But then I added more and more details and in the end there's no Postage Collage left... 

I made the background using the Under the Sea stencil set.  I first inked the layer with the waves onto a piece of light blue cardstock using Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. I moved the stencil a few times.

The layer with the ground I inked along the bottom of the cardstock with Black Soot. Then I also applied a bit of that along the side edges of the cardstock. 

I first splattered a bit of water and then  white acrylic paint onto the cardstock.

 

 Auf dem Meeresboden tut sich einiges. Ich wollte eine monochrome Karte machen, das war mir dann aber doch so fad. Also habe ich die Teile, die ich alle aus Cardstock in verschiedenen Blautönen gestanzt habe, mit Distress Ink Peeled Paint, Forest Moss sowie Uncharted Mariner schattiert und an einigen der Elementen wie den großen Gräsern noch Details mit Polychromos hinzugefügt. 

 

There's a lot going on at the bottom of the sea. I wanted to make a monochrome card but that seemed too boring. So I inked some of the pieces, that I all had cut from different shades of blue cardstock, with Distress Ink Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Uncharted Mariner and then used Polychromos to add some details to a few of the pieces, like the tall seaweed. 

 

 Auf beiden Seiten der Karte habe ich im unteren Bereich hohes Seegras aus dem Set Under the Sea aufgeklebt und dabei die Höhe, in der ich die Gräser angeklebt habe, leicht variiert. 

Auf der linken Seite der Karte schaut die Krabbe aus dem Set Happy Crabs, das von letztem Jahr aber perfekt mit den diesjährigen Sets kombinierbar ist,  neugierig in das Treiben um sie herum. Die Augen habe ich mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen gemacht. 

Rechts von der Krabbe liegt ein Stein am Boden, auf dem eine Koralle wächst. Außerdem habe ich hier eine kleine Muschel aus dem Set Seashells neben dem Stein platziert. 

 

On both sides of the card I glued down some tall sea weed from Under the Sea, variing the height I glued it down. 

On the left side a little crab from Happy Crabs is looking into the ocean. This set is from last year but can easily be combined with the new sets. I used a black Glaze Pen on the eyes.

To the right of the crab I placed a stone with a shell from Seashells next to it. On this rock a coral is growing. 

 

 Ebenfalls von letztem Jahr ist der große Anker aus Floral Anchor. Der fiel mir mehr zufällig beim Basteln der Karte in die Hände und ich fand, so ein versunkener Anker am Meeresboden wäre doch eine gute Idee. Ich habe ihn aus matt-silbernem Metallic Cardstock gestanzt und weil ich wollte, dass er schon etwas Rost angesetzt hat - er liegt schon einige Zeit da unter Wasser - habe ich rostfarbene Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt. Nun, die Farbe perlt auf dem Metallic-Cardstock recht stark, auch Auftupfen der Farbe mit einem Pinsel hat nicht geholfen und so ist er nur ein wenig angerostet. Aber mir gefällt der Look trotzdem. 

Vor dem Anker liegt dann auch noch ein alter Taucherhelm, wieder aus Under the Sea. Auch hier habe ich die silbernen Teile mit Rost versehen. Aus dem Helm wächst eine Pflanze. Außerdem liegt eine weitere Muschel sowie ein Fels rechts und links neben dem Helm. 

 

Also from last year is this large anchor from Floral Anchor. I came across it more accidentally when making my card but decided, it would make a nice sunken anchor. I die cut it from matte-silver metallic cardstock and because I wanted it to look like it is laying down there since quite some while I added  some rust to it by splattering rust colored metallic watercolor onto it. The color beads up pretty badly on the metallic cardstock, even applying the color with a brush didn't change that. But at least there's a bit of rust on it and I still like the look.

In front of the anchor there's also a sunken vintage diving helmet, again from Under the Sea. Again I added some rust to the silver pieces. There's even a plant growing out of the helmet. To its left and right there's another shell and another rock.

 

 Oben mittig auf den Hintergrund habe ich dann mit weißem Embossingpulver ein "sea you soon" aufembosst. Das ist aus dem Set Mermaid for You von LawnFawn. 

Um die Szene etwas mehr zu füllen, habe ich dann viele kleine Fische aus dem Set Postage Collage Coral Reef Silhouettes auf der Karte verteilt. Die Fische habe ich aus dunkelblauem Cardstock gestanzt. Aus dem selben sind sind auch die Korallen sowie die kleine Pflanze, die aus dem Helm wächst. 

 

Along the top edge of the card and centered on the background I white heat embossed a "sea you soon". This is from Mermai for You by LawnFawn. 

To fill the scene I die cut lots of small fish from Postage Collage Coral Reef Sihouttes and added them to the card. I have cut these fish from dark blue cardstock. From the same set are also the corals and the plant that's  growing out of the helmet.

 

 Auf die Pflanzen sowie den Krebs habe ich ein wenig Stickles aufgetragen, damit die Szene ein wenig schimmert. Außerdem habe ich kleine klar-irisierende Pailetten als Blubberblasen auf der Karte verteilt. Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I applied Stickles to the plants and the crab to make the scene shimmer a bit. I also added some clear-iridescent sequins as bubbles all  over the card.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Craft Roulette Episode #324

Auch diese Woche habe ich eine Karte für die Craft Roulette Challenge geschafft - und ich entschuldige mich für die Bilder. Die Karte war etwas aufwändiger und das Licht war beim Fotografieren nicht mehr das Beste. Viele Elemente wirken dadurch schwarz statt dunkelbraun....

Die Parameter diese Woche lauten:

- Colors: Craft Store

- Elemente: Table

- Random: Add a Bug(s) or Insect(s). 

Was für ein Zufall, dass genau gestern meine Bestellung aus dem neuen LawnFawn Release geliefert wurde, das ja Bienen enthält... Damit war dann auch das Thema für meine Karte klar.

Also this week I managed to finish a card for Craft Roulette - and I apologize for the pictures. This card was a bit more time consuming and the light wasn't best anymore when I took the pictures. That's why some of the elements appear black instead of the dark brown they really are...

The parameters of this week are:

- random: Add a Bug(s) or Insect(s). 

What a coincidence that I got my order frrom the latest LawnFawn release just yesterday - and it has bees in it. So the theme of my card was easy to pick. 

 

 Auf meiner Karte tummeln sich also ein paar Bienchen und präsentieren stolz den Honig, den sie gesammelt haben...

Die Easel Card selbst habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gemacht und die Front mit einem Stück türkisfarbenen Cardstocks beklebt. Auf den habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

 

There are a three bees on my card and they are presenting proudly the honey they collected...

I made my easel card from white cardstock and glued a piece of turquoise cardstock onto the front. I had splattered some white acrylic paint onto it. 

 

 Die Bienen sind dann doch nicht aus dem neuen Release - die Biene aus Build-a-Bee finde ich zwar zuckersüß, sie war aber einfach zu groß für meine Karte. Stattdessen habe ich eine kleinere Biene aus dem Set Meadow Backdrop Portrait genommen. Bis auf die karierten Elemente habe ich alles auf der Karte aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Ohuhu Markern coloriert. 

Bei den Bienen habe ich die eigentlich ausgestanzten, und später hinterlegten Teile, wieder zurück an ihren Platz gesetzt und die Bienen im ganzen coloriert. Auf die Fühler habe ich kleine herzförmige Pailetten in Gold aufgeklebt.  Und über jeder Biene habe ich ein grünes Herz angebracht. Die Flügel sind aus Vellum mit Silberschimmer gestanzt - ich habe jeweils zwei  Flügel kreuzförmig übereinander und dann hinter die Biene geklebt. 

Auf dem Bereich hinter den Bienen habe ich ein paar kleine Wolken verteilt.  

 

I then didn't use the bee from the new release  at all  - the one from Build-a-Bee is so cute but it was just too large for my card. Instead I used a smaller one from Meadow Backdrop Portrait. Except for the checked elements I cut all the pieces from white cardstock and colored them with Ohuhu markers. 

I put the cut out pieces back into the bees and colored  them as a whole. Onto their antennas I glued tiny gold heart  confetti. And above each bee I added a small green heart.  The wings I cut from vellum with a silver shimmer - I used two for each bees, glued them onto each other crosswise and then behind the bee. 

Behind the bees I added some white clouds to the sky.

 

 Unten auf der Karte habe ich dann erst einen Streifen dunkelbraunen Woodgrain Cardstocks, auf den ich ein weißes Stempelkissen gedrückt habe um die Maserung besser rauszubringen, aufgeklebt und somit den Tisch eingebaut. Von dem hängt eine Tischdecke aus gelb-weiß kariertem Designpapier. Die habe ich einfach per Hand zugeschnitten.

Die Honiggläser sind mit der Grundform des Build-a-Drink Mason Jar Sets gemacht. Ich habe die Gläser jeweils aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, goldgelb coloriert und dann eine Lage Acetate darüber gesetzt. 

Die Label, die Deckchenüberzüge samt Bänder und Schleifen und auch der Honiglöffel sind mit Stanzen aus dem neuen Set Build-a-Drink Mason Jar Jam and Honey AddOn. Die Deckchen habe ich aus dem selben Designpapier gestanzt, das ich auch für die Tischdecke  benutzt habe. Am mittleren Glas habe ich dann eine kleine echte Schleife aus braunem Twine angeklebt.

Auf das Label habe ich mit braunem Versafine das Wort Honey aus dem Set Jam and Honey Sentiments aufgestempelt und darüber ein kleines grünes Herz angebracht.

Die Blätter und Blüten auf der Karte sind aus dem ebenfalls neuen Lemon Vine Border Set, die ich in kleinere Stücke geschnitten habe. 

Ganz unten rechts auf der Karte befindet sich ein Streifen dunkelbraunen Cardstocks, auf den ich mit weißem Embossingpulver einen der Texte aus Henry's Build a Sentiment Honey Bee aufembosst habe.  

 

Across the bottom of the card I glued a strip of dark brown woodgrain paper, that I had pressed a white pigment ink pad onto to bring out the pattern more. This creates the required table. There's a table cloth hanging down from the table, cut from yellow  and white Gingham paper. I simply cut that out with my scissors.

The honey jars are made using the base die from Build-a-Drink Mason Jar. I cut each jar from white cardstock, colored it a golden yellow and then put  a layer of acetate on top. The labe, the top including the ribbon and bow, an also the honey stick are dies from the new Build-a-Drink Mason Jar Jam and Honey set. I cut the jar tops from the same Gingham paper that I had also used for the table cloth. To the jar in the center I glued  a real bow made from brown twine.

Onto the labels on the jars I stamped the word "honey" from Jam and Honey Sentiments using brown Versafine, then glued a small green heart above the word. 

The leaves and flowers on my card are from the also new Lemon Vine Border, that I cut into smaller pieces. 

In the lower right corner I added a strip of dark brown cardstock and white heat embossed one of the texts from Henry's Build a Sentiment Honey Bee onto. 

 

 Die Deckchen auf den Gläsern habe ich jeweils mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt, das befindet sich auch hinter dem Glas in der Mitte. Den Tisch habe ich mit dickem Tape hinterlegt.

Oben auf dem Himmel habe ich noch einige goldene Perlen aufgeklebt und außerdem einen dünnen Rahmen mit einem goldenen Gelstift aufgemalt.

 

The covers on the jar lids I glued on with thin foam tape and also used it to adhere the jar in the center. The table I backed with thick foam tape.

I added a few gold pearls to the sky and also drew a thin frame there using a gold gel pen.

 

 Und so sieht die Easel Card dann aufgestellt aus - der Himmel mit den Wolken ist dann nicht mehr sichtbar. 

 

And this is the easel card all propped up - the sky with the cloud isn't visible anymore.

 

 

Die Bienen und die Herzen darüber habe ich jeweils mit einem schmalen Streifen Acetate hinter den Honiggläsern befestigt. So schweben sie bei aufgestellter Karte frei in der Luft über den Honiggläsern. Auch die Blätter und die Blume hier sind hinter den Gläsern angeklebt.

 

I adhered the bees and hearts above them with thin strips of acetate to the honey jars. This way they are flying above the jars when the card is put up.

 Also the leaves and the flower are glued behind the jars.

 

 

 Im Inneren der Karte braucht eine Easel Card ja ein Gegenlager für die aufgestellte Kartenfront. Ich habe hier einen Streifen türkisfarbenen Cardstocks verwendet, auf dem ich meinen Text fortgeführt habe. Der weiß embosste Text ist wieder aus dem Set Henry's Build a Sentiment Honey Bee, den letzten Teil des Textes habe ich durch gestanzte Buchstaben ersetzt. Ich habe sie mit dem Set Henry's ABCs gestanzt und dann so coloriert, dass es so aussieht, als würde  Honig von den braunen Buchstaben tropfen. Den Honig auf den Buchstaben und auch am Honiglöffel habe ich mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

Als Deko habe ich hier zwei  weitere Blüten, drei grüne Herzen und drei goldene Perlen benutzt. Unter den Cardstockstreifen habe ich dann noch einen Streifen des karierten Designpapiers, das ich schon auf der Kartenfront benutzt habe und dessen untere Kante ich mit einer Wellenkantenstanze ausgestanzt habe, aufgeklebt und darüber einen schmalen Streifen dunkelbraunen Cardstocks gesetzt.

Den türkisfarbenen Cardstock habe ich dann wieder mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt, damit es höher aufsteht und die Kartenfront so gut dahinter geklemmt werden kann.

 

An easel card needs some kind of stopper for the propped up card front. I used a strip of dark turquoise cardstock and continued my text on it. The white embossed text is again from Henry's Build a Sentiment Honey Bee, the ending of the last word I replaced with some die cut letters. I cut those using Henry's ABC and colored them to look like honey is dripping from the dark brown letters.  I covered the honey on the letters and also on the honey stick with a layer of Glossy Accents.

As decoration I added two more flowers, three little green hearts and also three gold pearls. Under the cardstock strip I tucked a strip of the same Gingham paper I had also used on the card front and that I had punched out with a scalloped border punch. Above it I place a thin strip of dark brown cardstock. 

I used thick foam tape again to adhere the turquoise cardstock strip to the inside of the card to make it stand up more and make tucking the card front behind it easier. 

 

 Zum Abschluss des Blogposts machen wir  mal noch einen Parameter-Check:

- Easel Card: ja, erledigt.

- Table: dargestellt durch einen Streifen Papier in Holzoptik entlang der unteren Kante der Kartenfront

- Craft Store Colors: da geht wohl jede Farbkombi - ich bin mal durch die Acrylfarben-Abteilung gewandert und habe mir eine schöne Farbkombi ausgesucht. ;)

- Add a Bug(s) or Insect(s): auf meiner Karte tummeln sich drei Bienen.
