Die Ruhe am Teich

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ich weiß nicht, ob Ihr einen Teich im Garten habt. Wir haben einen und es ist so ein friedlicher, natürlicher Ort. Wir machen nicht viel am Teich und lassen der Natur ihren Lauf, aber gerade das macht ihn so schön und viele Tiere finden dort ein Zuhause. 

Dieses Jahr scheinen Wasser- und Teichszenen beim Stempeln groß in Mode zu sein und so eine zeige ich Euch heute. Dabei habe ich mich von unserem Teich inspieren lassen.

Do you have a pond in your yard? We do and it's such a peaceful place. We don't do much, letting nature run the show, but that's what makes it so beautiful and a lot of animals found a home there.

It seems like this year water- and pond scenes are big in the cardmaking world and also I am sharing one with you today. I took our pond as inspiration.

 

Ich wollte schon länger so wonky, ineinander greifende Stanzen haben. Aber die Stanzen von HeroArts und WhimsyStamps, die beiden Hersteller, von denen ich wusste, dass sie solche Sets haben, waren leider bei uns nirgends zu bekommen. Als Altenew jetzt die  Ocean Windows herausgebracht hat, habe  ich zugeschlagen. Und sie hier für den Hintergrund benutzt..

Ich habe vier Cardstockstücke in 10 x 14,3 cm zugeschnitten und dafür vier verschiedene, zueinander passende Blautöne benutzt. Aus denen habe ich dann mittig die verschiedenen Stanzen des Ocean Windows  Sets ausgestanzt. Die größte Stanze im Set passt nicht auf eine Karte in Din-Format, so dass ich die einfach weggelassen habe. 

Aus dickem Cardstock - ich benutze hier Karton, der in Stanzenverpackungen etc. enthalten ist, habe ich die Fenster noch einmal gestanzt und jede Lage einmal hinterlegt. So bekommt die Szene mehr Tiefe. Dann habe ich jeweils die inneren Ränder mit passender Tinte etwas gewischt und  weiße Acrylfarbe über alles gespritzt. Außerdem habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift  an einigen Stellen Lichtreflektionen in Form von vielen kleinen Punkten aufgemalt.

 

I wanted a set of wonky shaped kind of nested dies since quite some time. But the two sets from HeroArts or WhimsyStamps - the only brands I knew have some - were nothing any store here in Germany had in stock. When Altenew released their Ocean Windows die  set just recently I had to get it. And here I used  it for the background.

I die cut four pieces  of cardstock to 10 x 14,3 cm using four different shades of blue cardstock that worked good together. From the center  of those I die cut the different layers of the Ocean Windows set. The larges die of these doesn't fit a german DIN sized card so I just left this one out.

From thick cardstock - I usually use cardstock that comes in die packaging etc - I die cut the windows again and backed each blue layer with one of them to give the scene more depth. Then I inked  the inner edge  of each cut out window with a matching, slightly darker ink and splattered white acrylic paint onto the background. I also used a white gel pen to draw some light reflections onto the water, simply placing a lot of small dots next to each o
ther.

Im Teich schwimmen zwei Koi Fische (bei  uns sind es ganz profane Goldfische, die  haben sich aber ordentlich vermehr so dass es inzwischen ganz schön viele sind). Die Fische sind aus dem Mini Koi Fish Stanzenset von ScrappyTails. Ich habe sie aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Distress Ink Pumice Stone ein wenig schattiert und habe dann mit grauen Copics die dunklen Flecken aufgemalt. 

 

Here you can see the water better.

There are two Koi fish swimming in the pond (in ours we have just simple goldfish, but those reproduced themselves quite a lot and so we have a lot of them right now). The fish are from Mini Koi Fish by ScappyTails. I die cut them from cream colored cardstock, shaded them slightly with Distress Ink Pumice Stone and then used grey Copics to add the dark spots.

 

 

  Als Deko habe ich einige Seerosen samt Blättern auf der Karte verteilt.

 Die Seerosenblätter sind aus dem Good Fortune Stempelset, ebenfalls von ScrappyTails. Ich habe erst die Blätter mit den Outline Dies aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen grün-grauen Cardstdocks gestanzt und die Mitten mit passender Tinte gewischt. Anschließend habe ich dann mit weißer Pigmenttinte die Blattadern aufgestempelt und sie mit einem dunkelgrünen Polychromo etwas hervorgehoben. Außerdem habe ich die Blätter an den Rändern etwas nach oben gebogen. Sie sind dadurch zwar etwas verknickt, sehen aber natürlicher aus.

Für die Seerosen musste ich ein wenig kreativ werden, denn da hatte ich keine passenden Stanzen. Sie bestehen jetzt aus je zwei Sonnenblumen aus dem Sunflower Border Set von LawnFawn sowie in der Mitte zwei winzige Blüten von LawnFawn. Ich habe alle aus cremefarbenen Cardstock gestanzt und nur die Spitzen jeden Blütenblatts ein wenig mit Tattered Rose eingefärbt. Dann habe ich je vier Blüten aufeinander geklebt und die Spitzen der Blütenblätter etwas nach oben gebogen.

Auf dem Seerosenblatt oben rechts  auf der Karte sitzt außerdem eine Libelle. Die ist wieder von ScrappyTails, aus dem Set Dragonflies. Ich habe die Flügel aus irisierendem Velllum, den Körper aus schwarzem Cardstock  und das Hinterteil aus Glittercardstock mit grün-blauem Farbverlauf gestanzt. Ich habe die Libelle ein wenig s-förmig gebogen und auf das Seerosenblatt geklebt. Dann habe ich das Hinterteil mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

 

As decoration I added some water lilies and lily pads to the card.

The lily pads are from the Good Fortune stamp and die set by ScrappyTails. I first cut out the leaves from two different shades of grey-ish green cardstock using the outline dies and darkened the centers with some matching ink. Then I used  white pigment ink to stamp the veins onto the leaves and used a dark green Polychromo for some shading next  to the white lines. I also bent the edges of the leaves a bit upwards. That crinckled them a bit but they look more natural that way.

For the water lilies I had to get a bit creative because I don't have a die for those. They are made from two sunflowers from Sunflower Border by LawnFawn and two tiny flowers by Magnolia. I die cut all from cream colored cardstock and shaded just the tips of the petals with Tattered Rose. Then I stacked two of each flowers and folded the tips a bit upwards.

On the lily pad in the top right I placed a dragonfly. It's again by ScrappyTails, from their Dragonflies die set. I cut the wings from iridescent vellum, the body from black cardstock and the tail from glitter cardstock with a green and blue gradient. I bent the dragonfly into a S shape and glued it onto the lily pad, then I covered the tail with Glossy Accents.

 

 Am unteren Rand der Karte befinden sich weitere Seerosen. Außerdem habe ich hier kurzerhand noch einen Text aufgestempelt - ohne fehlte was auf der Karte. Das Keep Calm ist aus  dem Set Hula Hippos von MFT und mit dunkelblauer Tinte direkt auf das Wasser gestempelt.

 

To the bottom of the card I glued more water lilies. I also added a text here - the card was missing something without it. The "keep calm" is from Hula Hippos bby MFT and stamped directly onto the water using dark blue ink. 

 

Die Seerosenblätter habe ich teilweise mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

Ich habe Stickles benutzt um die Fische ein wenig zu beglittern und habe auch an einigen Stellen ein wenig davon entlang der Wasserkanten aufgetragen. Außerdem habe ich mit Glossy Accents einige Wassertropfen auf die Seerosenblätter aufgetragen.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

Und demnächste zeige ich Euch dann, was ich aus den ausgestanzten Wasserteilen gemacht habe... 

 

I adhered some of the lily pads with thin foam tape.

I used Stickles to add some glitter to the fish and also applied a bit of in some areas along the water edges. With Glossy Accents I applied some water drops to the lily pads.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

And soon I'll  share with you what I used the cut out water pieces for...

I wasn't sure if I'd make it this weekend, but here it is: my card for Craft Roulette episode #326. This week's parameters are/were:

Nun, im ersten Moment war ich ein wenig überfragt, aber die Idee zu meiner Karte kam mir dann doch recht fix. 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus hellblauem Cardstock, den ich von unten her mit Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon eingefärbt habe. 

Darauf kam dann erst ein Hügel, davor zwei Lagen Gras, beides aus (unterschiedlichen) Tönen grünen Cardstocks gestanzt. Für das Gras habe ich die Grassy Pasture Backdrop Landscape Stanze von LawnFawn benutzt und sie in mehrere Teile geschnitten. Zwei davon habe ich dann für meine Karte verwendet. Die Lagen habe ich mit Pine Needles bzw. Rustic Wilderness schattiert. Außerdem habe ich auf beide grüne Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt. 

Zwischen Hügel und Gras habe ich dann einen weißen Zaun gesetzt. Der ist mit der Picket Fence Stanze von LawnFawn gemacht.

 

Well, I was a bit at a loss for a few seconds but then I got the idea for this card pretty quickly. 

The background is made from a piece of light blue cardstock, that I shaded from the bottom up with Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon.  

Onto it I glued a hill and two layers of grass, cut from two different shades of green cardstock. For the grass layers I used the Grassy Pasture Backdrop Landscape   by LawnFawn  and cut it into smaller strips. Two of them I used on this card. I inked  the green layers with Rustic Wilderness and Pine Needles. I also splattered green metallic watercolor onto the green layers.

Between the hill and grass I put a fence. This is cut from white cardstock using the Picket Fence die  by LawnFawn. 

 

 Hauptelement auf meiner Karte ist ein ein großer Heuhaufen, auf dem ein Hahn trohnt. 

Der Heuhaufen ist mit dem Hay There Stanzen- und Stencilset von WaffleFlower gemacht. Ich habe ihn aus hellbeigem Cardstock gestanzt und die Schatten mit Bundled Sage und Frayed Burlap aufgewischt. Anschließend habe ich Polychromos verwendet, um dem Heuhaufen etwas Struktur zu geben. 

Der Hahn oben auf dem Heuhaufen sowie das  Küken und das Huhn unten sind aus dem Set Kikeriki von Create a Smile. Ich habe sie mit Ohuhu Markern coloriert und mit der Schere ausgeschnitten. 

Außerdem habe ich mit dem Wegweiser-Set von Create a Smile ein Schild ausgestanzt und hinter dem Heuhaufen ins Gras gesteckt. 

 

Main element on my card is a large hay stack with a rooster on top.  

The hay stack is made with the Hay There die and stencil set by WaffleFlower.  I cut it from light beige cardstock and added the shading with Bundled Sage and Frayed Burlap. Then I used Polychromos to add some more details to the hay stack. 

The rooster on top of the hay stack and also the hen and chicken at the bottom are from Kikeriki by Create a Smile. I colored them with Ohuhu markers and cut them out with my scissors. 

I also used the Wegweiser die set by Create a Smile to cut a sign and tucked it behind the hay  stack into the grass. 

 

 Auf das Schild habe ich dann mit brauner Tinte meinen Text "hay there Dude" aufgestempelt. Dafür habe ich Stempel von LawnFawn und WhimsyStamps kombiniert. 

Am Himmel habe ich drei kleine weiße Wolken verteilt. Und weil der Bereich hier doch noch etwas fad aussah, habe ich  mit der Simple Stitched Tree Border einen Hügel mit Bäumen aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt. Den habe ich dann in kleinere Teile geschnitten und drei davon hinter den Hügel gesteckt. Das Laub habe ich mit winzigen Wolkenstanzen aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt. 

 

Onto the sign I stamped my "hay there Dude" text with brown ink. I combined stamps by LawnFawn and WhimsyStamps for it.

I added three small white clouds to the sky. And because this upper area of the card looked a bit plain I also die cut the Simple Stitched Tree Border from dark brown cardstock, cut it into pieces and tucked three trees behind the hill. The leaves I cut from green cardstock using some tiny clouds dies.

 

Ich habe hier 3D Tape hinter Zaun und Gras, den Heuhaufen samt Schild und Hahn sowie hinter die beiden Hühner im unteren Bereich der Karte gesetzt. Die Schwanzfedern des Hahns habe ich mit einem Nuvo  Aqua Shimmer Pen beglittert. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I put foam tape behind the fence and grass, the hay stack with the sign and rooster and also behind the two chicks at the bottom of the card. I applied some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer to the rooster's tail feathers.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Und hier noch der Parameter-Check:

Project: dies ist eine Männerkarte, ich habe auerdem das Wort Dude auf das Schild gestempelt.

- Colors: Ich habe grün, blau, weiß und ein wenig braun benutzt - genau die Farben, die man während einer Schlittenfahrt durch den verschneiten Winterwald sieht.

Element:  Auf meiner Karte befinden sich drei Hühner.

Random: ich habe sowohl einen weißen Gelstift als  auch einen Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen auf der Karte verwendet. Außerdem habe ich zufällig bei Goo-le gelernt, dass ein "pen" auch ein eingezäuntes Tiergehege sein kann. Also habe ich den Zaun eingebaut.

 

And here's the parameter check:

project: this is a dude's card, I also stamped the word dude onto the sign.

- colors: I went with green, blue, white and a bit of brown - just the colors you see during a sleigh ride through the snowy winter woods.

- element: I added three chicks to my card

random: I used a white gel pen and a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen. I also learned, that a pen can also be a small enclosure for an animal. So I added the fence.  

 

Winter - Frühling - Sommer

Der Sommer ist da - es war also Zeit, die Sommervariante meiner Tunnel-Card-Stadtszene zu  machen. Und die zeige ich Euch heute - hier erstmal zusammen mit den anderen beiden Versionen. Ich glaube, die sollte ich langsam mal aus der Sonne nehmen, besonders jetzt, wo der Sommer da ist....

 Summer is here - so it was time to make the summer version of my tunnel card city scene. And that's what I am sharing with you today - here together with the other two versions. I really think I should take these out of the direct sunshine now that summer is here...

 

 Und hier ist die Sommervariante in voller Größe. Ein wenig Veränderung ist ja immer eingeplant - diesmal habe ich den Zaun aus der Wintervariante wieder eingebaut, der Briefkasten ist einem Springbrunnen gewichen. 

 

And here's the summer version in all it's glory. I always change a few design elements - here I used the fence, that I also used on the winter card, again, the mailbox I replaced with a fountain. 

 

 Alle auf der Karte verwendeten Stanzensets - und die Karte ist komplett aus Stanzteilen gemacht - sind von ScrappyTails. Und es kamen so einige Sets zum Einsatz, aus einigen nur eine winzige Kleinigkeit. 

Für die Basis habe ich natürlich wieder die Birch Tree Tunnel PopUp Card benutzt, schließlich sollen die Karten von der Grundszene her identisch sein. 

Ich habe die Basis zweimal aus hellblauem, die Birken aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Und die Birken brauchten natürlich wieder ein Rindenmuster. Diesmal habe ich mit einem kleinen Pinsel Distress Ink Pumice Stone jeweils von einer Seite her aufgewischt und zwar so, dass man die Pinselstriche sieht. Dann habe ich Details mit Polychromos hinzugemalt. 

 

All die sets I used on this card - and it's made completly from die cuts - are by ScrappyTails. And I used quite a few sets, from some of them just a tiny item. 

For the base I used the Birch Tree Tunnel PopUp die again, I want all my cards to have the same base scene.

I cut the base two times from light blue, the birch trees froom white cardstock. Of course those trees needed a bark pattern. This time I inked one side of each with Distress Ink Pumice Stone, using a small brush and making sure, the strokes are still visible. Then I added some details with Polychromos.

 

Die hinterste Lage bildet wieder die Stadt mit den Hochhäusern aus dem NYC Skyline AddOn.  Sie ist aus verschiedenen Grautönen gestanzt, davor habe ich eine Lage Gras gesetzt, die ich direkt vor den Häusern aufgeklebt habe.

Hinter den Häusern schweben zwei weiße Wolken am Himmel. Für die - und übrigens auch das Laub des Baums auf der Lage davor - habe ich eine Wolkenstanze aus Rainbow Bridge benutzt. 

 

The back layer again shows the city skyline with the skyscrapers from NYC Skyline AddOn. I cut it from different shades of grey cardstock, in front of the houses I adhered a layer of grass, glueing it directly onto the houses.

Behind the houses there are two white clouds floating in the sky. For these - and also the leaves on the tree in front of the houses - I used a cloud die from Rainbow Bridge.

 

 Die Lage vor den Häusern ist wieder die Parkszene aus dem Central Park Ice Skater AddOn Set. Die Tannenbäume habe ich aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen dunkelgrünen Cardstocks gestanzt und versetzt aufgeklebt. 

Die nächste Lage bildet dann der Zaun aus Vintage Post AddOn, den ich mit Copics schattiert habe. Ans unteren Ende der Zaunpfähle habe ich jeweils ein kleines Grasbüschel aus dem Set Swan Lage gesetzt. Aus dem selben Set ist auch der Busch auf der Graslage davor. 

Alle Graslagen habe ich mit Distress Ink Mowed Lawn und Rustic Wilderness gewischt. 

 

The layer in front of the houses is again the park scene from Central Park Ice Skater AddOn. I die cut the pine trees from different shades of dark green cardstock and glued them on a bit offset. 

The next layer shows the fence from Vintage Post AddOn, that I shaded with Copics.  At the bottom of each fence post I adhered a small patch of grass from Swan Lake. From the same set are also the bushes that I glued onto the grass layer in front of the fence. 

I inked all the grass layers with Distress Ink Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness.

 

 Auf der vordersten Lage befindet sich dann der Springbrunnen aus Garden Fountain. Der ist eigentlich größer, damit er auf meine Karte passt, habe ich das größte untere Becken weggeschnitten. Ich habe den Brunnen mit Pumice Stone und Hickory Smoke bewusst fleckig gewischt und dann mit einem grauen Fineliner sowie einem dünnen weißen Gelstift winzige Punkte aufgetupft, damit der Steinbrunnen Struktur bekommt. 

Auf dem Brunnenrand sitzt ein kleiner Vogel, sein Bruder fliegt im oberen Teil der Karte herum. Beide sind ebenfalls aus dem Garden Fountain Set. 

Neben dem Brunnen sitzt ein kleiner Hund aus Rainbow Bridge und schaut in den Park. 

An den Fuß der Birken habe ich noch höhere Gräser aus Waterfall Koi Pond Trifold Sidewings AddOn und einige weiße Blüten aus Books and Coffee.

 

On the front layer I placed the fountain from Garden Fountain. Originally it's larger, to make the fountain fit onto my card I cut off the largest bottom layer. I inked the fountain with Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke, keeping it a bit splotchy, then used a grey fineliner and a thin white gel pen to draw tiny dots onto it. This adds some texture to the stone the fountain is made of.

There's a little bird sitting on the frountain, his brother is flying around in the upper area of the card. Both birds are again from Garden Fountain.

Next to the fountain there's sitting a little dog from Rainbow Bridge, looking out in the park.

To the bottom of the birch trees I added some tall grass from  Waterfall Koi Pond Trifold Sidewings AddOn and some small white flowers from Books and Coffee.

 

 Hier könnt Ihr den zweiten Vogel sehen.  Und  auch die kleinen Blätter, die ich an die Birken geklebt habe. Dafür habe ich die Grünteile der Pflanze aus Library Window PopUp Card aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Copics schattiert und dann in Stücke geschnitten hinter die Äste geklebt. 

 

Here you can see the second bird. And also the small leaves I glued to the birch trees. I used the leaves from a plant from Library Window PopUp Card for those, cut them from green cardstock, shaded them with Copics and then glued them behind the branches, cutting them into smaller pieces. 

 

 Dann habe ich alles zusammengesetzt. Dabei habe ich die Seitenteile aus dem Set Poinsettia Tunnel PopUp Card. Das ist das etweas tiefere Seitenteil, es gibt auch noch ein schmäleres im Cathedral Tunnel Set. Ich mag dieses hier lieber wegen der tollen Tiefe, die die Szene dadurch erhält. 

 

Then I put the card together. I used side pieces from Poinsettia Tunnel PopUp Card. Those are the deeper ones, there are also smaller ones in the Cathedral Tunnel set. But I like these deeper ones better because they add so much depth to the scene.

 

 Und hier könnt Ihr die tolle Tiefe der Szene noch einmal sehen. Ich liebe diese Tunnel Cards. Und zum Versenden können sie ganz einfach zur Seite und somit flach zusammen gelegt werden.

 

And here you get another look at the depth of the scene. I love those Tunnel Cards. And to mail them they can easily be folded sideways and then are completly flat. 

 

Ein sommerliches Straßenfest

Auch wenn der Titel des Posts "sommerliches Straßenfest" heißt, meine Karte zeigt nicht wirklich eine Straßenfest-Szene. Aber irgendwie hatte ich die beim Karte basteln immer im Kopf.

Even if this post is named "summer-ish street festival", of course my card isn't really showing a street festival scene. But when making this card I always had to think of one.

 

 Für diese Karte habe ich einige Artikel aus dem Mai-Release Fete and Fiesta von TheGreetery verwendet - kombiniert mit einigen älteren Sachen. Ihr habt ja inzwischen mitbekommen, wie sehr  ich deren Produkte liebe, und so war klar, dass auch das neue Release bei mir einziehen muss. Da ich in Urlaub war, hat es bis jetzt gedauert, bis ich die erste Karte damit machen konnte. 

 

For this card I used some  products from the may release Fete and Fiesta by TheGreeterey - combined with a few older ones. You surely have noticed by now how much I love their products and of course this new release had to move into my craftroom, too. I was on vacation so it took until now until I made my first card with it.

 

 Basis für alles war das Capsule Basic Stanzenset. Ich habe das große gewellte Oval zweimal aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und das große normale Oval einmal aus blauem und zweimal aus weißem Cardstock. 

Aus den Ovalen aus blauem und einem schwarzem Cardstock habe ich dann mittig ein kleineres Oval ausgestanzt - naja, fast mittig. Dass ich ein wenig daneben lag habe ich anschließend gemerkt, als ich mit blauer Tinte den Pretty Picado Background auf die beiden blauen Teile aufgestempelt habe. Die Idee kam mir erst später, sonst hätte ich das wohl erst gestempelt und dann gestanzt. Aber es fällt gar nicht so sehr auf. 

Aus den beiden weißen Ovalen habe ich dann eine der Fähnchen- sowie die Luftballon-und-Stern-Lage aus dem  Capsule Party Scene Set ausgestanzt und die Ränder der Ovale jeweils mit denen im blauen Oval angepasst. 

 

As the base for my card I used the Capsule Basic die set. I die cut the large scalloped oval two times from black cardstock and the large regular oval once from blue and two times from white cardstock.

From the  blue and one of the black ovals I cut a smaller oval from the center - well, nearly from the center. I was a bit off and realized that later when I stamped the Pretty Picado Background with blue ink onto the blue cardstock pieces. I only had this idea later or I would have made the other way around. But it's not too bad. 

From the two white ovals I die cut one  of the banner layers and the balloon and star layer from Capsule Party Scene, matching the edges of the ovals with the ones cut from the blue oval.

 

 Mit Stanzen aus dem Market Place Mini Set habe ich dann drei Häuser gestaltet - eines für den Vordergrund aus hellgrauem und weißem Cardstock, zwei für weiter hinten in der Szene aus dunklerem Grau und schwarz. Alle Häuser habe ich jeweils mit einer Lage aus blauem Cardstock hinterlegt. 

Das Haus im Vordergrund habe ich dann mit Blumenkästen samt Blumen aus dem Set Market Place Celebration Street dekoriert und außerdem noch mit einer Stanze aus dem Everyday Awnings Set von Spellbinders Markisen hinzugefügt. Die brauchte mein Haus unbedingt und ehrlich gesagt habe ich mir das Set hauptsächlich deswegen gekauft. Und natürlich mussten die Markisen rot und weiß werden. Ja, sie sind ein wenig überdimensioniert, aber so ist es zumindest schön schattig in den Wohnungen dahinter. 

Mit den Capsule Party Scene Stencils habe ich dann die Fähnchen in rot und blau gewischt. Die Ballons wollte ich nicht noch in einer anderen Farbe wischen, in einer der bereits benutzten Farben wären sie aber untergegangen. Also habe ich die Lage einfach ein weiteres Mal aus Vellum gestanzt, habe die Ballone aus der Lage aus weißem Cardstock herausgeschnitten und das Vellum dann dahinter geklebt. So sind die Ballone durchscheinend, die Sterne habe ich mit einem Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen beglittert. 

 

Using the Market Place Mini set I created three houses - one in light grey and white for the foreground, two in darker greys and black for further back in the scene. I backed each layer with one cut from blue cardstock. 

I decorated the one in the foreground with flower boxes and flowers from Market Place Celebration Street and also used a die from Everyday Awnings by Spellbinders to create the awnings. My house just needed these and I mainly bought it with the Market Place houses in mind. Yes, they may be a bit oversized but at least that means the flats behind those windows are shady and cool during the summer. 

I used the Capsule Party Scene stencil set to color the banners in red and blue. I didn't want to bring in another color for the balloons, but they would have gotten lost using red or blue again. So instead I die cut the oval again from vellum, cut out  the balloons of the white cardstock layer and then glued the vellum layer behind it. Now the balloons are kind of see through, to the stars I applied some glitter using a clear Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen. 

 

 Ich habe dann 3D Tape verwendet, um die Karte zusammen zu setzen. Zwischen jedem der Ovale befindet sich dickes Tape, die Häuser habe ich jeweils mit dünnem 3D Tape hinter die Rahmen geklebt - das vorderste hinter das erste Oval, die grauen hinter die Lage mit den Bannern. Und auch die Markisen sind mit im unteren Bereich mit 3D Tape angeklebt, das obere Ende habe ich direkt auf dem Cardstock angebracht. So wirkt die runde Form noch intensiver. 

Als hinterste Lage  meiner Karte habe ich das zweite gewellte Oval verwendet und mittig darauf das aus der obersten blauen Lage gestanzte Oval gesetzt. 

 

I used foam tape to put the card together. There's thick one between the ovals, the houses I glued with thin tape behind the oval frames - the front one behind the top layer, the other two behind the layer with the banners. And also the bottom of the awnings are attached with foam tape. The top I glued directly onto the house. This way the round shape looks even more intense. 

As the back layer  of my card I used the second scalloped oval and glued the small one, that I cut from the blue top layer, centered onto it.

 

 Weil der äußere Rahmen noch ein wenig fad aussah und der Karte noch zumindest irgendeine Art von Text fehlte, habe ich aus dem Market Place Celebration Street noch ein Banner mit einem Celebrate aus schwarzem Cardstock ausgestanzt - ich habe hier zwei Lagen aufeinander geklebt. An die Enden habe ich Schleifen aus rotem Cardstock, gemacht mit einer Stanze aus dem Market Place Lover's Lane Set gesetzt. Beides habe ich dann oben quer über die Karte geklebt. Außerdem habe ich als Deko noch ein paar klare Glitzersteine auf der hintersten Lage der Karte verteilt. 

 

Because the outer frame looked a bit plain and the card needed at least some kind of text I die cut a banner with a Celebration from black cardstock. It fit the street festival I had in mind. The die ist from Market Place Celebration Street, I stacked two die cuts to make it a bit sturdier. To the ends of the text banner I glued two bows, cut from red cardstock using a die from Market Place Lover's Lane. Then I glued both across the top of the card. I also added some clear rhinestones to the back blue layer of the card.

 

To plant a garden...

In den letzten Tagen habe ich Euch so einige Karten mit der Under the Sea Reihe von WaffleFlower gezeigt. Nun, Anfang Juni kam bereits die Green Thumb Reihe heraus. Und auch hier konnte ich dem ein oder anderen Produkt nicht widerstehen. Meine erste Karte damit zeige ich Euch heute.

Lately I've been sharing quite a few cards using products from the  Under the Sea collection by WaffleFlower. Well, beginning of june  they released their  next series Green Thumb. And again I couldn't resist some of these products. Today I am showing you the first card I made with that.

 

Wie der Name der Kollektion schon verrät dreht sich diesmal alles um Pflanzen und den Garten. 

Ich habe hier für den Hintergrund ein Stück hell-türkis farbenen Cardstock benutzt und die Ränder mit ein wenig Distress Ink Salvaged Patina und Peacock Feathers gewischt. Dann habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Entlang des unteren Rands des Cardstocks habe ich einen Streifen hell-creme  farbenen Cardstocks aufgeklebt. Ich habe noch jede  Menge Cardstock mit Leinenstruktur hier, den möchte ich irgendwann mal aufbrauchen. Als Oberfläche für meinen Pflanztisch - die Sachen können ja nicht einfach auf dem Boden stehen - gefiel mir die Struktur ganz gut. 

 

As the name already suggest this release is all about plants and gardening. 

For the background I used a piece of light aqua cardstock and inked the edges with a bit of Distress Ink Salvaged  Patina and Peacock Feathers. Then I splattered white acrylic paint on top.

Along the bottom edge of the cardstock I adhered a strip of off-white cardstock. I still have plenty of cardstock with a linen texture left and would love to use that up one day. I liked the texture for the top of my plant table - all that stuff can not just sit on the floor. 

 

 Hauptelement meiner Deko  ist ein Korb voller Samentüten. Für den Korb habe ich einfach die Basketful Base aus dem Oster-Release verwendet. Den Korb  habe  ich aus hell-, das Innere  aus dunkeler braunem Cardstock gestanzt. 

Die Samentüten - sowie bis auf die  Blumentöpfe alle weiteren Elemente auf der Karte - habe ich dann aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt. Das hat mir besser gefallen als reines Weiß. Vor dem Ausstanzen der einzelnen Tüten, habe ich die Postage Collage Seeds Details in den Cardstock geschnitten und  mit den Postage Collage Seeds Stencils die Details aufgewischt. Neben zwei braunen Tinten von SU habe ich für alles Distress Inks Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire, Barn Door, Lumberjack Plaid, Tattered Rose, Seedless Preserves, Peeled Paint und Forest Moss benutzt. Die Tüten kann man eigentlich zweifarbig gestalten, ich habe sie komplett in Braun gewischt und mit einem dunkleren Braun und einer der Stencils Schatten aufgewischt.  Anschließend habe ich die Postage Collage  Blocks Stanze verwendet um die einzelnen Tüten auszuschneiden. Dann  habe ich sie in den Korb gesteckt. 

Die Gartengeräte sowie die Raupe und die Schnecke sind aus dem Set Postage Collage Gardening Add-Ons Set. Die metallenen Teile  der Gartengeräte  habe ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. 

Für die Gartenschaufel und auch die  Blumentöpfe rechts hinter dem Korb habe ich Stanzen von LawnFawn  benutzt. Der Topf ist aus Little Flowers, die Schaufel aus Watering Can. In dem Gardening Add-On Set von WaffleFlower ist zwar auch eine Schaufel enthalten, die  war mir aber im Vergleich zu den Samentüten zu klein. Und auch Blumentöpfe gibt es in dem neuen Release, die brauchte ich aber nicht - dachte ich. Inzwischen bin ich mir da nicht mehr so sicher.... ;) Aber für diese Karte musste der Blumentopf von LawnFawn herhalten. Den habe ich aus rötlich-braunem Cardstock gestanzt, ebenfalls gewischt und dann ein ziemlich trockenes weißes Pigmentkissen einige Male auf die Töpfe gedrückt, der dadurch Kalkränder bekommt. 

Außerdem habe ich noch die Pflanzenstecker aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und auf die Schildchen, die ich aus extrem dunkelgrünen Cardstock  gestanzt habe, kleine Texte aufembosst. Der dunkelgrüne Cardstock sah fast ein wenig wie eine Tafel aus. Für die Stecker habe ich die Plant Marker Combo verwendet.

 

Main element of my decoration is a basket full of seed pockets. For  the basket I simply used the Basketful Base from the easter release. I cut it from light, the inside from darker brown cardstock.

The seed pockets - and except for the flower pots also all  the other elements on the card - I die cut from cream colored cardstock. I liked that better than stark white. Before cutting the pockets out I cut the Postage Collage Seeds Details into the cardstock and then added  color using the Postage Collage Seeds stencils. Besides two brown inks by SU I used  Distress Inks Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire, Barn Door, Lumberjack Plaid, Tattered Rose, Seedless Preserves, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss. The pockets are designed to be inked in two colors but I went with all  brown, then used one  of the  stencils to add some shading. Then I cut them into individual pockets using the Postage Collage Blocks die and tucked the pockets into the basket. 

The gardening tools, the caterpillar and the snail are all from Postage Collage Gardening Add-Ons. I cut the metallic pieces of the tools from matte silver metallic cardstock. 

For the shovel and the flower pots behind the right  side of the basket I used dies by LawnFawn. The pot is from LIttle Flowers, the shovel from Watering Can. There is a shovel  in the Gardening Tools Add-On set, but it seemed to small to me compared with the seed pockets. And there are also some flower pots in different set from this release, but I decided that I don't need  those. Well, I  might change my mind on that....  ;) But for this card the flower pot by LawnFawn did the job. I cut it from reddish-brown cardstock, inked it a bit  and then pressed a quite dry white pigment ink pad several times onto  the pots, that now look as if they have hard water rings.

I also die cut the plant markers from light grey cardstock and white heat embossed small texts onto the little sign pieces. I cut these from very dark green cardstock that kind of looks like a chalk board to me. I used the Plant Marker Combo set for the markers.  

 

 Entlang des oberen Rands der Karte habe ich dann einen Text aufgestempelt. Der ist aus dem Set Rooting For You von ColoradoCraft. Ich habe den eigentlich vierzeiligen Text auf zwei Teilen verteilt und ihn dann mit Versafine Clair Morning Mist direkt auf den Hintergrund gestempelt.

Und links unterhalb des Textes war dann noch Platz für eine kleine Biene, die  eine Gießkanne vorbei bringt. Auch diese Stanzen sind aus dem Gardening Add-Ons Set. Die Flügel habe ich aus hellblauem Vellum gestanzt. Weil der größere Flügel eigentlich dunkelbraun gestanzt wird, habe ich die Streifen mit der Schere aus diesem Teil herausgeschnitten und der Flügel ist so mit dem cremefarbenen Cardstock hinterlegt. 

 

 Along the top edge of the background I placed my text. It's from Rooting for You by ColoradoCraft. I changed the arragement of the text from four to two lines and stamped it directly onto the  background using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. 

And on the left side, right under the text, there was room for a little bee, that's carrying a watering  can. Again the dies for these come from Gardening Add-Ons. I cut the wings from light blue vellum. Because the larger wing gets cut from the dark cardstock I used my scissors to cut out the stripes and have the cream colored cardstock shine throught the vellum.

 

 Den Korb mit den Samentüten habe ich mit dünnem, Schnecke und die Gartenschere vorne mit dickem 3D Tape angebracht. Die übrigen Elemente  sind direkt auf den Hintergrund geklebt. 

Als Deko habe ich noch einige kleine rote Herz-Pailletten auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used thin foam tape behind the basket with the seed pockets, thick one behind the snail and scissors in the front. All the other elements I glued directly onto the background.

I added some small red heart confetti to the card, then glued the card panel to a white note card.

Heute zeige ich Euch eine Karte, auf der ich das Motiv aus dem Set Freundeskreis von CreativeDepot verwendet habe. Und das bot sich geradezu für eine Geburtstagskarte von mehreren Personen  an.

Today  I am sharing with you a card that I used the image from Freundeskreis by CreativeDepot on. And it was perfect to make a birthday card that will be handed  over together from a few friends.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus drei verschiedenen Tönen türkisfarbenen  Cardstocks. Auf alle habe ich an selber Stelle den Birthday Background von MFT aufgestempelt und dafür jeweils eine Tinte einen Tick dunkler als  die Farbe des Cardstocks gewählt. 

Das Cardstockstück im dunkelsten Ton habe  ich einen Ticken größer zugeschnitten als die beiden anderen, so dass ich einen schmalen dunklen Rahmen um die Karte habe.

 

The background is made from three different shades of aqua cardstock. I stamped the Birthday Background by MFT onto each, placing it in the same spot on each piece  of cardstock and using ink a bit darker than each cardstock color.

I cut the darkest piece in the background a bit larger than the other two so I ended up with a thin dark frame around my card.

 

 Aus den beiden helleren Cardstockstücken habe ich dann jeweils einen der Essential Arches von Spellbinders gestanzt und sie per  Partial Diecutting ein bisschen nach unten verlängert. Auf den sichbaren Rand des mittleren Cardstocks habe ich dann mit schwarzer Tinte ein Celebrate Today! aufgestempelt. Das ist aus dem Sending Good Vibes Stempelset von TheStampMarket und nur  einTeil eines der ovalen Textes. 

Zwischen/auf die Lagen habe ich dann jeweils eine kleine Wolke, gestanzt aus weißem Cardstock, geklebt.

 

I die cut one of the Essential Arches by Spellbinders from the two lighter cardstock pieces, making them a bit taller by doing partial die cutting. Onto the visible part of the medium colored cardstock I stamped a Celebrate Today! using black ink. The text is from Sending Good Vibes by TheStampMarket and just part of one of the oval texts from the set.

Between/onto the cardstock layers I then glued some small clouds, cut from white cardstock.

 

 Und hier ist das süße Motiv aus dem anfangs erwähten Stempelset. Ich habe die Motive mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten. Den Elefant habe ich mit einem  Papierhut aus Fette Überraschung von Create a Smile versehen, auf der linken Seite habe ich ein Fähnchen aus Elphie Selphie von LawnFawn angebracht. Auf das habe ich dann ein Überraschung aus Kleine Sprüche von Create a Smile aufgestempelt.

Der Elefant pustet eigentlich ein kleines gestempeltes Herz in die Luft. Ich habe es durch einige Herzen, gestanzt aus rotem Cardstock, ersetzt und die übrigen unten links neben den Panda geklebt.

 

And here's the cute image from the stamp set I mentioned at the beginning of this post. I colored the images  with Copics and cut them out with my scissors. I dressed up the elephant  with a paper hat from Fette Überraschung by Create a Smile, on the left side I added a banner from Elphie Selphie by LawnFawn and stamped a small "surprise" onto it.

The elephant  originally blows a little heart out of his trunk. I replaced that with a few more hearts, cut from red cardstock. The left over ones I placed at the bottom left of the card.

 

Die einzelnen Lagen habe ich dann mit dickem 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt, um der Szene etwas  Tiefe zu geben.  Anschließend habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used thick foam tape to put the card together, giving the scene some depth. Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

Beim Aufräumen der im Flohmarkt erstanden Stempel von ColoradoCraft sind mir die Stempel zum Thema Gemüsegarten wieder in die Hände gefallen. Die kamen dann gleich auch mal wieder zum Einsatz. Das Ergebnis zeige ich Euch hier.

When I was putting away the ColoradoCraft stamps I recently bought in a de-stash group I came across their veggie garden related stamps and decided to use them. This is the card I made with them.

 

Meine Schwiegereltern hatten immer schon einen Schrebergarten, aber in den letzten Jahren fiel ihnen die Pflege immer schwerer. Als mein Schwiegervater jetzt Anfang des Jahres gestorben ist, blieb nichts anders, als den Garten aufzugeben. Für den Nachbesitzer habe ich diese Karte gemacht.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks, auf den ich quer eine Reihe Gras aus dem Set Greener Grass gestempelt. Den unteren Teil habe ich dann mit Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn und Pine Needles gewischt, den Himmel mit Tumbled Glass und Mermaid Lagoon. Dann habe ich Wasser aufgespritzt.

Mittig aus dem Cardstock habe ich dann mit einem der Essential Modern Ovals von Spellbinders ein Oval ausgestanzt, schwarz hinterlegt und später wieder zurück an seinen Platz geklebt.

 

My in-laws always had  a little garden a few miles away from their house, but taking care of it was getting harder and harder for them. When my father in law died beginning of this year his mom just had to give up the garden. For the new owner I made this card.

The background is made from a piece of white cardstock that I stamped a grass border from Greener Grass across. I inked the bottom with Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles, the sky with Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon. Then I splattered some water on top.

From the center of the cardstock I cut an ovel using one of the Essential Modern Ovals by Spellbinders, matted it black and later glued it back in place.  

Der Hase war schon sehr erfolgreich mit der Gemüseernte. Er ist aus dem Set Garden Therapy. Ich habe ihn mit Copics coloriert und anschließend mit einem schmalen weißen Rand ausgeschnitten. Den Rand habe ich später passend zum Hintergrund eingefärbt, so dass er kaum mehr auffällt. 

Eigentlich wollte ich gar nicht viel mehr  auf die  Karte packen, sie sah aber doch zu leer aus. Also habe ich diverse Gemüse und Pflanzen aus dem Veg Out Hintergrund vor das Gras im Hintergrund gestempelt und über die Distress Inks coloriert. Deswegen sind die Farben auf der ganzen karte doch etwas kräftiger, als sonst von mir gewohnt. Von dem Hintergrund hatte ich mir damals gleich zwei gekauft - einen als Hintergrund, den anderen habe ich in lauter kleine Einzelmotive geschnitten. So kann ich die problemlos verwenden, ohne den Rest des Hintergrunds maskieren zu müssen. Bisschen verrückt, oder? Aber hier waren die vielen kleinen Motive perfekt. 

Unter dem Hasen, genau passend ins Oval, habe ich dann mit schwarzer Tinte den Text gestempelt. Er ist aus dem Set Veggie Stack und ich fand, er passt hier perfekt. Denn er drückt genau das aus, was der Garten für meine Schwiegereltern bedeutet hat - und das wünsche  ich auch dem neuen Besitzer. 

 

 This bunny was already very successful with harvesting his veggies. He's from Garden Therapy. I colored him with Copics and then cut him out with a very thin white edge around him. Later I colored that matching  the background so it's hardly visible. 

Originally I hadn't planned much more on the card, but that looked too plain. So I stamped different plants and vegetables in front of  the grass in the background  and then colored over the Distress Ink blending. That's also why the colors on this card are a lot brighter than you usually see from me. Back when they were released I had bought two of these backgrounds - one to use as a background, the other one I cut into a lot of individual images. This way I could use those smaller images without having to mask off the rest of the background. A bit crazy, right? But they made life a lot easier here.

Under the bunny, perfectly fitting the oval, I stamped my text with black ink. It's from Veggie Stack and I thought it's perfect here. It expresses what that garden meant to my in-laws and  that's what I wish the new owner it will mean to him, too. 

 

Oben am Himmel fliegt noch ein kleiner Vogel, der noch eine Erbse geerntet hat. Auch der ist aus dem Set Veggie Stack. 

Außerdem habe ich einige kleine weiße Wolken am Himmel verteilt. 

 

Up in the sky there's a little bird flying, delivering another pea he just harvested. It's again from Veggie Stack.

I also added some small white clouds to the sky. 

Auf dieser Karte habe ich nur den Vogel und den Hasen sowie die Zwiebeln und den Salatkopf mit 3D Tape hinterlegt. Als Deko habe ich dann noch ein paar kleine rosafarbene Herzen auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

On this card I only backed the bird and the bunny as well as the onions and the salad with foam tape. As dekoration I added some small pink clay hearts and then glued the card panel to a white note card.
