Heute zeige ich Euch - endlich - meine Karte für die aktuelle LawnFawnatics Challenge mit dem Thema "critters on vacation". Die Idee zu der Karte hatte ich sofort, als ich das Thema gesehen habe, und wollte dafür Sachen aus dem neusten Release verwenden. Ich weiß ja nicht, wie es Euch geht, aber die Post ist gerade eine Katastrophe, vor allem, wenn das Paket über Hamburg oder Bremen läuft. Die Sendungen sind ewig unterwegs und so musste ich mich in Geduld üben. Ja meine Königsdisziplin... not! Aber zum Wochenende konnte ich dann endlich loslegen und hier seht Ihr das Ergebnis.

Today I am - finally - able to share with you the card I made for the current LawnFawnatics challenge with "critters on vacation" as the theme. I had the idea for this card right after seeing the theme and wanted to use products from the latest release for it. German Post is a mess lately, especially when the packages pass special hubs - it takes forever. And so I had to be patient. I am very good at that... not! But right for the weekend I got my order and was finally able to start crafting. And here you see what I have made.
Natürlich musste ich bei "critters" sofort wieder an die Mäuse denken. Die sind ja ständig unterwegs und ich habe sie dieses Jahr schon ein paar Mal an den Strand geschickt. Also verbringen sie heute einen Urlaubstag am Fluss und haben offensichtlich jede Menge Spaß.
Für den Hintergrund habe ich den neuen Riverside Backdrop Landscape aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und auch das Gras und den kleinen Baum aus dem Set gestanzt, die Stämme natürlich aus braunem Cardstock.
Hinter den Fluss habe ich dann helltürkis-farbenen Cardstock gesetzt, den ich mit Distress Ink Broken China und Stormy Sky gewischt habe. Den Himmel habe ich mit hellblauem Cardstock hinterlegt, den ich mit Stormy Sky gewischt habe, die Wiese mit etwas Mowed Lawn.
Of course the mice came to my mind as soon as I read "critters". They are always traveling and I have sent them to the beach a few times already this year. So today they are taking a day off at the river and are having tons of fun.
For the background I cut the new Riverside Backdrop Landscape from green cardstock and also cut the small grass and the small tree from the set, the trunk of course from brown cardstock.
Behind the water I put some light aqua cardstock, that I inked with Distress Ink Broken China and Stormy Sky. The sky I backed with light blue cardstock and inked it with Stormy Sky, for the grass layers I used Mowed Lawn.
Ich wollte einen Baum im Vordergrund meiner Szene. Also habe ich den Leafy Tree Backdrop Landscape aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt und den Baumstamm ein wenig mit Copics gestaltet. Das Laub habe ich aus drei verschiedenen Tönen grünen Cardstocks gestanzt und mit Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness und Pine Needles gewischt.
Und hier hatte ich einen Aha-Moment. Ich habe diese Stanze wirklich schon lange und auch schon oft verwendet. Ich fand immer, dass der "Hügel" im Set irgendwie etwas komisch ist - vor allem, weil er im Landscape-Set ja gar nicht über die ganze Karte reicht. Hier habe ich ihn als Baumkrone benutzt - zusammen mit einigen Kronen des kleinen Baums aus dem Riverside-Set, und fühlte mich super innovativ. Aber als ich dann so darüber nachgedacht habe, kam mir die Idee, dass das wohl auch der eigentlich geplante Einsatz für dieses Stanzteil ist....
Dann habe ich gesplattert - und es wurde kein Teil verschont. Das Gras ist mit hellgrüner, das Laub der Bäume mit dunkelgrüner und das Wasser mit helltürkis-farbener Metallic-Watercolor bespritzt. Und dann habe ich auf alle Lagen inklusive des Himmels noch weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.
Den Baum wollte ich übrigens, weil ich eine Maus an einem Seil schaukeln lassen wollte - von dort kann sie dann mit lautem Juhu ins Wasser springen. Eigentlich hatte ich mir extra das recht alte "Critters in the 'Burbs" Set bestellt, um die Reifenschaukel aus dem Set dafür zu verwenden. Aber ich sagte ja, die Post.... Also habe ich stattdessen etwas braunes Twine an einem der Äste befestigt und unten eine Maus aus Dandy Day, die eigentlich an einem Löwenzahn hängt, angebracht.
I wanted to have a tree in the foreground of my scene. So I cut the Leafy Tree Backdrop Landscape from light brown cardstock and used Copics to add some details to the trunk. The leaves I cut from three different shades of green cardstock and inked them with Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness and Pine Needles.
And that's where I had a lightbulb go on over my head. I have this die since quite a long time and have used it so often. I always thought, that the "hill" in this set is a bit strange, the more since it won't fit all across a landscape card. Here I used it for the leaves - combined with some of the smaller leaves from the Riverside set - and felt super clever. But the more I thought about it, it hit me, that this is what this die is really meant to be used for...
Then I did some heavy splattering - and no pieces was left out. I used metallic watercolor - light green for the grass, dark green for the leaves of the trees and light aqua for the water. And then I also added splatters of white acrylic paint to all the pieces including the sky.
I wanted this tree to be there so a mouse could hang from a rope from it - and jump with a louds "woohoo" into the water. Originally I had placed an order of the quite old "Critters in the 'Burbs" set to use the tire swing from the set. But I already said it, German Post.... So I tied a piece of brown twine to the branch instead and attached a mouse from Dandy Day, that's originally hanging on to a dandelion, to the bottom end.
Natürlich finden sich auf meiner Karte noch weitere Mäuse. Sie sind aus den Sets Dandy Day Flip-Flop, You Autumn Know und Whoosh Kites. Alle Motive sind mit Copics coloriert.
Im Riverside-Set kommen drei kleine Stanzen, mit denen man Wellen ins Wasser stanzen kann. Das habe ich an verschiedenen Stellen gemacht und zwei der Mäuse dahinter gesteckt, so dass sie im Wasser schwimmen/stehen. Eine spielt mit einem Wasserball aus Pool Party.
Und weil so ein Sommertag ohne Eis nicht komplett ist, schleckt vorne vor dem großen Baum eine Maus an einem Wassereis. Das ist aus Crazy Antics.
Weil der Baum ja nicht im Wasser stehen kann, habe ich ganz unten links ein kleines Stück Gras eingefügt und dafür einfach einen Teil des Fluss-Ausschnitts benutzt.
Außerdem habe ich einige Schmetterlinge aus den Sets Butterfly Kisses und Whoosh Kites aufgeklebt.
Of course there are a few more mice on my card. They are from Dandy Day Flip-Flop, You Autumn Know and Whoosh Kites. I colored all images with Copics.
In the Riverside set there are three small dies, that can be used to cut waves into the water. I did several of them and tucked two mice behind a wave so they are standing/swimming in the water. One of them is playing with a ball from Pool Party.
And since a summer day isn't perfect until you had some ice cream a mouse is enjoying a popsickle in front of the large tree. The popsickle is from Crazy Antics.
I didn't want this large tree to grow in the water so I added a small patch of grass there, simply using a piece of the cut out rive from the grass layer.
I also added a few butterflies from Butterfly Kisses and Whoosh Kites.
Am Himmel habe ich zwei kleine Wolken aus Whoosh Kites aufgeklebt.
Und oben links auf der Karte war Platz für meinen Text. Der ist mit Stempeln aus den Sets Reveal Wheel Sentiments und Reveal Wheel Friends and Family Sentiments zusammengesetzt und weiß auf grünen Cardstock embosst.
I glued two small clouds from Whoosh Kites to the sky.
And in the top left corner of the card there was room for my sentiment. I put that together combining stamps from Reveal Wheel Sentiments and Reveal Wheel Friends and Family Sentiments and white heat embossed it onto green cardstock.
Die Lage mit dem großen Baum habe ich mit dickem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt und auch einige der kleinen Motive mit dickem oder dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt.
Als Abschluss habe ich einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt und mit dünnem 3D Tape als oberste Lage aufgeklebt.
Die Wellen, die ich ins Wasser gestanzt habe, habe ich mit Stickles nachgefahren und beglittert.
Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt.
I put thick foam tape behind the layer with the large tree and put thin of thick foam tape also behind some of the smaller images.
To frame the scene I die cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames from light blue cardstock and glued it onto the Leafy Tree Layer using thin foam tape.
I traced the waves, that I cut into the water, with Stickles to add some glitter.
Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.
