A Mice Day to Celebrate

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
It was time to add to my stock of birthday cards. And so I made this card, that I'm sharing over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today.

The little birthday mouse on my card is really surprised when she walks into the woods to find out that her friends organzized a surprise birthday party with colorful lanterns.
Here I've inked up a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and a hint of Black Soot to create a night sky. The stars are made from silver metallic watercolor and white paint that I've flicked onto the background with a paint brush.
In the lower area of the cardstock I used the Grassy Hills stencil and Distress Oxide Black Soot to create a hill. On top of that, a little down from the inked edge, I've glued down another layer of grass, die cut with one of the Grassy Hills Edges from dark grey cardstock.
Onto the finished backbround I've glued a few birch trees that I've die cut from grey cardstock. Then I added a few deatils with a white gel marker.
And then I've put the new Balloon Cover-Up on top of the background. But here I didn't use it as a frame with raising balloons, instead I've turned it upside down and used it as hanging lanterns. More about that soon. I've die cut the Ballon Cover-Up die again from black cardstock, cut off the balloons and glued that frame on top of the Cover-Up die cut. Then I've glued everything onto a white note card.

And here are the colorful, glowing lanterns. You really can't tell right away that these are balloons turned upside down, right?
I've die cut this layer of Balloon Cover-Up from white cardstock and then die cut the lanterns/balloons that I've colored red again individually from white cardstock. Then I've colored all of them with Copics and glued down the red ones with thin dimensionals.

The little mouse and the text are from the Mice Day to Celebrate stamp set.
The saying is white heat embossed onto black cardstock.
The mouse is colored with Copics, then I've cut her out and glued her behind the layer of grey grass.

Geburtstagsgrüße von Herzen

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
It's the last sunday of the month and that means we from the JM Creation DT are sharing what we made out of the stamps/dies we got for the monthly project. I've made a birthday card from them.

Well, the image would have been great for a spring card. And that was my original intention, but then the card had its own ideas and turned into a birthday card. As colors I had picked blue, white, black and a hint of green. But that looked a bit plain. Since the center of the flower is colored in yellow and also the two die cut flowers got a golden center I've brought out my Alcohol Inks and used Lemonade and Butterscotch to create a bright yellow alcohol ink background. That looks so much friendlier!

I thought this image would make a cute, shy flower giver. He picked that birthday flower all by himself! I've colored him with Copics.
After cutting him out I've glued him onto a piece of white cardstock onto which I've stamped a birthday text background with black ink. Then I've matted this panel with blue cardstock.
The die set we're using for the march monthly project is a set of a branch and flowers. I've die cut the branch from green cardstock, the flowers from blue cardstock. And also the black rectangle in the background is made with a die from this set.
Behind the blue matted cardstock with the stamped on birthday text I've put a few dotted circles. I've stamped those with light blue ink and punched them out.
Between the layers I've added a few of the thin stars made with the star frame die. They are die cut from light blue glitter cardstock - and were on my desk from a previous project. This die cut so many star frames at once that there are always a few left overs for a future project!
Of course my card needed a text. This one means "from the heart". I've white heat embossed it onto a piece of black cardstock, cut it out and into two pieces and then glued those onto the card.
In the end I've also added a few light blue pearls onto the yellow alcohol ink background.

Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 27. März 2021

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
This is the card that I made following the new sketch that we're sharing over at Stempeleinmaleins today.

This is/was the birthday card for my husband. Well, how to explain that text. Here people say "boah, das ist der Hammer" when they want to express that they are surprised or that something is really amazing. Well, my "boah" is written different. The way I've written it, it gets pronunced the same but a Bohrhammer is a hammer drill. During our big garden project last summer my husband's hammer drill broke and he asked for a new one for his birthday. So this card is saying "it's your birthday - wow, that's amazing", just spelled like "it's your birthday - that's a drill hammer". I have no idea if I explained that in a way that it makes sense, but it does in german. And I just couldn't pass that occassion to use a play with words like that.
Here I've stamped the Radiating Halftone Background by MFT onto light turquoise cardstock using Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. Then I've matted it black and glued it onto a square white card base.

I've replaced the three circles that are shown in the sketch with three of those comic style bubbles. I've die cut those from white cardstock and matted them black, Into the upper right one I've added a "it's your birthday" text.
I've die cut the large letters from mustard colored cardstock and put the same letters cut from black cardstock underneath, moving them just a bit up and to the right. I've also stamped dots onto the lower area of the letters using the Radiating Halftone Background stamp again. Thel little stars are made the same way.
The rest of the text is white heat embossed onto black cardstock.
Across this bubble I've glued an arrow that's also matted black in the same way as the letters.

The other two bubbles are made the same as the first one. The strip with the "that's" text ist glued in the middle of the three bubbles. One of my daughters had the idea to write that part with the s in brackets, which would have turned it into another saying again. With the s it would have meant "wow, that's amazing", without it would have meant "here's the drill hammer". Unfortunately the card was already finished - I would have loved her version even a tad bit better!
Also here I've added a yellow arrow.
In the end I've drawn a frame around the card with a black fineliner and glued a few light turquoise Nuvo Drops onto it.

Ostergnome

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Easter is just around the corner. And on this card, that I'm sharing over at the Stampcorner Blog today, the easter gnomes are waiting with some beautifully decorated eggs in front of their house for the easter bunny to come by. I love these gnomes and they are something different than the usual easter bunny.

Here I used the new Sunburst Backdrop die by LawnFawn to create my background. I've die cut it from white cardstock and then inked it up with Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar. With white paint and pink metallic watercolor I've added some splatters to the background.
Then I've glued the cute Mushroom House by LawnFawn onto the background and turned it into a gnome's home. It's mostly covered by the image but you can still tell that it's no regular mushroom, and that not only because of the chimney I've added to the mushroom's hat.
The next layer is a grassy hill, die cut from grey cardstock. I've used one of the Slimeline Grassy Hills dies and simply picked the part of the long die cut paper that I liked best on my card.
As you can tell I picked grey, pink and red as the color scheme of this card. And nontheless I thinks it's a happy and spring-ish one.

And these are the cute gnomes with their bunny ears. I think they did a great job coloring the easter eggs!
I used my Copics to color the image, then cut it out and glued the gnomes in front of the grey grassy hill.
Now all that was missing was a text. I've die cut the letters for the words "happy easter" from white and red cardstock. I used a Alphabet die set by MFT here, that is pretty equal to the Bitty Banners die set, also in size.
I've glued the red letters on top of the white ones, put the words together in front of and also on top of the gnomes and then added a few highlights with a white gel pen.

Häschen Hüpf!

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Today I have another easter projekt to share: a little box with bunny ears.

For the box I used the Mini Explosionbox die by JM-Creation. Well, at least partly. I only used the lid die and the butterflies from this set. The box itself is made from chipboard and I also changed the heigth, so I cut this by hand.
To the lid I've glued some bunny ears that I've also made with a die. I've cut a slit into the lid, put the ears through it from the top, folded the bottom pieces over and glued them to the inside of the lid.
I've tied a little bow to one of the ears and also glued a little butterfly to the lid.

Naja, und was so ein echter Hase sein will, der muss natürlich auch hüpfen können. Kann er!

Well, a real bunny needs to jump, right? It does:

Isn't this jumping explosion box genius? And even the weight of the chocolat eggs wasn't a problem.

The inner sides of the box, as well as the ones on the outside, are covered with a soft pink patterned paper with light pink dots. I also glued little butterflies, die cut from white paper, to three of the inner sides.

On top of the box - or better inside since this is where this platform is located when the box is closed - I've glued some shredded craft colored paper strips and used those as a nest for my two chocolat eggs. And I als die cut the words "sweet greetings" and glued them on the 4th of those inner sides.

Oster-Gnom

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Easter is near - and right in time MFT came out with a new easter gnome set. Of course I had to use that before easter. And so I am sharing this a little different easter card over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today.

For the background I used the Intertwine 3d embossing folder by Sizzix. It reminds me of a woven basket and so I think it is perfect for this easter card.
I've die cut a stitched circle from a piece of craft colored cardstock, using the Rainy Circle die by MFT. Then I inked up the side of the embossing folder that creates the decreased areas with a dark brown ink pad and dry embossed the cardstock.
With Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs, Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso I added some more depth to my background. I carefully moved the ink pad directly over the embossed paper, with the darkes ink pad I dabbed on the ink.
Under the cut out circle I've glued the word easter, die cut from dark pink cardstock. My alphabet set is an older one but Sizzix just came out with a very similar one.
Next to the word I glued a few light green Enamel Accents.

I matted the embossed cardstock with some light cardstock - it is visible through the cut out circle and creates the sky for my easter gnome.
All images are from the Spring Gnomes stamp set. I colored them with Copics, cut them out and glued them together.
Under the images I also added a strip of green cardstock, die cut with one of the Stitched Hills dies, as a meadow.
To finish the text I stamped a happy from the Label Maker Love stamp set with pink ink onto white cardstock, cut it out and glued it to the top right of my cut out circle.

März-Challenge bei Stampcorner

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Yesterday we've started the march challenge over at Stampcorner. And since Stampcorner just launched their very first pack of designer's paper we've decided to make that the theme of the challenge: designer's paper. This is the card I've made - and yes, I already own the great paper by Stampcorner and used it on my card.

I really put the designer's paper in the focus here. I've die cut the Balloon Cover-Up by MFT from white cardstock and then again from black cardstock. Then I've put the  black small pieces from the inside into their place on the white die cut, cut off the balloons from the black and then glued the frame I ended up with onto the white cover-up with dimensionals.

I've die cut the individual balloons from the Cover-Up set from patterned paper and used a different pattern for each balloon. Then I've also cut the balloon with the string, that also comes in the set, once from white cardstock and once from patterned paper. All the lighter balloons are attached to the background with thinner dimensionals, the dark ones with thicker ones.
And to the string of the individual balloon I've attached the cute mouse from the Scripty Bubbles Sentiments set by LawnFawn. The mouse is colored in light greys with Copics and to make her fit into the color sheme of my card I've colored her belly a light blue. ;)

To the upper area of my card I've added the text.
The text is made also using stamps from the Scripty Bubbles Sentiments sets. I've stamped the happy onto another, blue and white striped designer's paper, cut it out and filled the inside of the script with Glossy Accents. Then I've glued it directly onto the black cardstock in the background.
Under it I've glued down the rest of the text that I've hand-cut into a wavy banner.
In the end I've added some light and dark blue stars - the dark ones are hard to see on the picture - to the upper area of my card.

Matchbox mit Törtchen und Monster

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Did you ever get the "Well, do you have a.... I need it tomorrow" question? This matchbox, that I'm sharing over at the Stampcorner Blog today, is one of those last minute creations.

Well, I have to admit that I cheated a bit here, only because of the short time I had to make this box: the matchbox is a readily bought one. My daughter recently gave me two packs of those and it came in very handy.

I've glued pieces of brown designer's paper with white hearts printed onto it onto the box.
The saying means "sometimes a little cake says more than a thousand words". I've diveded that into several parts, due to three reasons: 1, I wanted to put part above, part under the image; 2, I wanted to stamped it in different colors and 3, the way the stamp was arranged it was too wide for my box so I've move the individual words a bit to make it fit my box. Two of the words are stamped with red ink and matted with red cardstock.

As the image this little monster with a cake was perfekt with this saying.
I've stamped it, colored it with Copics and cut it out. The horns are also covered with the glitter, using the clear Glitter Pen by LawnFawn, but it was impossible to catch that on the photo.
I've die cut a circle frame from white cardstock and glued it behind the monster, then I added a few pink Enamel Accents to my box.

Post von Herzen

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Today I have another card with a bunny - and it can not only used for easter cards. That's what I want to show with this card.

Here I've stamped a dotted circle onto a piece of white cardstock and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. Then I used Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo and Milled Lavender to ink up the white cardstock, starting with the darkest color in the middle of the dotted circle and getting lighter towards the edges of my card. Then I added some tiny splatters by first spritzing some tiny drops of water and then also with white paint over my cardstock.
I've matted the finished background with silver-grey cardstock and glued it onto a white note card.

And here's the cute bunny. He's delivering a letter with a tiny heart - and of course this can contain wishes for any occasion.
I've stamped the bunny, colored him with Copics and cut him out.
On top of the dotted circle I've glued three arches of a rainbow, die cut from regular white and glittery pink cardstock.
To the end of the rainbow I've glued a few hearts so it doesn't float in the air. I've stamped a heart background and heat embossed them with a glittery silver embossing powder. Then I've cut the hearts out and glued them down individually. There was also room for two more hearts above the bunny.

And then my card needed a text. I've die cut a "heartfelt" from the same pink glitter cardstock and cut a white matting by hand. The rest of the text means "greetings for you" and is again silver heat embossed directly onto the background.

Eine Karte zur Genesung

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Right now you can't have enough get well cards. Of course I'm no different. And I'm sharing one of them over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today.

I've decided to go with a black background for this card. I love to create clouds etc, but every now and then I want something different for a change. And since I used mainly grey, brown and red for my coloring I didn't want to add all those colors I'd needed for a nice scene. And I think the dark background makes the image pop.
Around the edge of my black cardstock I've drawn a frame with a white gel pen. Then I've glued it onto a white note card.

And here's my scene that gives you a glimpse into an animal doctor's office.
All images that I've used for this scene are from the Feel Better stamp set by MFT. This is a set I think is just too adorable. There are many more animals included in this set but I didn't have space for all of them on my card.
Coloring was done with my Copics.
To the lower end of my scene I've added one of the Grounding Elements, die cut from brown cardstock, then glued my scene on top of it.
To glue the scene directly onto the black cardstock looked a bit too dark. So I used the Tall Snow Globe die to die cut that high arch from light blue cardstock and glued it behind my scene. To the sky I've added a few of the Puffy Clouds and the Petite Clouds, glueing two of them on top of the light blue cardstock.
To the lower end of my cardstock I've added a text. It's also from the Feel Better stamp set. I've stamped it onto white cardstock, cut it onto a little banner and matted it with red cardstock. Then I've glued it directly onto the black cardstock.

Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 13. März 2021

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Over at Stempeleinmaleins we are sharing an idea for a little easter treat today. And since they are so quickly done it's easy to make a bunch of them, for your co-workers for example.

This treat is a little box.
I've made the outer box/lid from white cardstock and die cut a small bunny from both the front and back side. Through the bunny - and since the lid is a bit shorter than the inner box also at the bottom - you can see the light blue cardstock I've used for the inner box.
From the same blue cardstock I've cut a strip and white heat embossed the word "easter greetings" onto it. Then I've glued it under the bunny onto the lid and also added a fluffy tail to the little bunny.

Around the box I've wrapped some thin light blue organdy ribbon that holds the box closed. That's also why I didn't die cut a bunny from the two sides of the lid.
I've tied the ribbon to a bow on top of the lid and also added another cardstock strip with a white heat embossed "for you" there. The edge of the strip with the saying is covered by a little blossom.

When you take off the lid it's clear that this is a mini explosion box. The box opens up and gives sight too an easter egg made from chocolat.
I've glued white cardstock with blue dots to the inner sides of the blue box and added another, this time white, blossom next to the egg.

For someone wonderful

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Over at the Stampcorner Blog I am sharing this spring-ish card with a wonderful image by MFT today. As many other of you I still know Rachelle Ann Miller from back when she designed stamps for Stampavie. I've always loved them but after they were discontinued I somehow forgot about them. Now she's designing stamps for MFT - and I had to have this one.
Honestly, most times those flourishes she adds to the outlines are somekind of bothering me. Not because I don't like the look but because they make it so hard to cut out an image. But here those really weren't a big deal.

For this card I've decorated a rectangle and then simply glued it onto a white note card.

And here's my decorated rectangle.
For the background I've  clear heat embossed the Honeycomb Background by MFT onto a piece of white cardstock. Then I've inked up the cardstock pink. And I had to use the new Kitsch Flamingo by Ranger here. Wow, the Ink version of this color really earned this name! It's a very bright, nearly neon looking pink. The Oxide version is a lot softer. And this is also what I've used here, combined with the Distress Oxide Spun Sugar. Then I've spritzed some pink shimmer water color over the background and matted it with brown cardstock.
Onto the pink background I've glued three birch trees, made with the Birch Tree dies by MFT. They were die cut from white cardstock and then colored in a light brown with my Copics.
On top of the trees I've glued a round Thank You text, also made with a die by MFT. It's the Thank You Circle Frame die. I've used white cardstock here to make it easy to read the text. I only added a small punched out heart from dark brown cardstock onto one of the Os.
And then for the next layer I've added the cute image from the A Very Sweet Somebunny stamp set. Bunny and deer are colored with Copics. Aren't those the cutest?
After cutting the images out I've glued them onto the background and added a strip of grass, die cut from a soft green cardstock with one of the Grassy Hills dies.
Now all that was missing was a text. I used one from the same stamp set that the images are from and stamped it with brown ink onto white cardstock. Then I've cut it out with the Boxed-In Banner die and added the thin frame, cut from pink cardstock.

Frohe Ostern!

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing another card with new stamps by JM Creation. And yes, Easter is only a few weeks away. So it's time to make some Easter cards. So these cute bunnies come in very handy.

I still did not make it completly into the spring color world. But at least I've used lots of pink here and combined it with some grey. I still think this is a spring-ish color combo, especially in combination with these cute images.
Here I've used a slimline die set to die cut a rectangle with rounded edges from a pink designer's paper with white dots. From the same die set is also the die that I used to die cut the scalloped and stitched rectangle from the grey patterned paper.
From the dotted paper I've die cut three squares that I used as windows for my bunnies.

And now I'm going to share the bunnies as close ups with you.
I used the same colors on all the bunnies - a light grey-ish brown for the bunny and pink for the flowers. After coloring the images I've cut them out and glued each into one of the windows.

This bunny is sitting inbetween some larger flowers.
Here you can also see the text that I've glued between the individual windows. I've die cut a "happy easter" from white cardstock and glued it directly onto the card.

And here's the third bunny. I'm pretty sure he's enjoying the warm sun shining onto his face.
To one of each of the bunnies' ears I've tied a little bow, made from a piece of white twine.
In the end I've added some bright pink Enamel Dots all over the card.
