Winterkarte in Schneekugelform

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
October is here! With the Farbe trifft Stempel challenge I at least scratched  the surface of the themes of  winter and christmas. And even if I still  have quite some  Halloween cards to share with you I am sharing a winter card with you today. It will be here sooner than most of us want it to be...

I made my winter card the shape of a snowglobe. Well, that's not what I had planned originally, I just wanted to create a winter scene with the great house. But my scene turned out too tall for a standard card. And because I used dies from the Snowglobe  Kit by ScrappyTails here I also brought in the snowglobe die, that the kit has its name from. Still, the card is completly one flat.

The great house, that I definately would move into without a thought! - is from Snowglobe Victorian Christmas House AddOn - as well as the smaller pine trees. I used the colors of my own christmas decorations as inspiration for this card: white, green, light aqua. I also  add a bit of light pink here  and there but didn't want to have that on my card.
The house I die cut from light grey cardstock, roof, door and shutters are made from dark teal cardstock. The window frames I cut from light aqua cardstock and backed them black. That doesn't look as warm or inviting as yellow cardstock but that simply didn't fit the look I was after.
I also  decorated  the windows in the roof with some garlands, they looked so non festive compared to the rest of the house.
Behind and next to the house there are dark grey fences and a black lantern, as well as two smaller light green pine trees. The are all from the mentioned set.
Behind the house I put up two tall decorated trees. These are from  Snowglobe Tall  Whimsical  Tree  with Ladder  and Elves and die cut from dark green cardstock. I put stars, cut from silver mirror cardstock, onto the tips of the trees and used a silver gel pen to draw on the ornaments. On the left side of the house I also added a bare tree from Snowgloe Wintery Forest Tree Trio AddOn, cut from black  cardstock.
I decorated the lantern with another small wreath with a bow and glued a few white bows onto the fence.
In the background I used the large background from Large Circular Snowgloe AddOn. I cut it from grey cardstock and shaded it with a bit of  Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and Black Soot.
The snow layers in the scene are also made using  a die  from this set, I only cut the long one, that goes  all  across the  scene, with my scissors. And because I had a little blank area under the  house I used two small patches  of snow, that are originally meant to go on the trees from Snowglobe Wintery Forest Tree Trio AddOn, to cover those areas. Now it looks like someone was shoveling snow and  has piled up the snow to the left and right of the  door. I die cut all  the snow pieces as well as the bows from white pearlesscent cardstock.
I used alcohol markers to draw some foot prints into  the snow, that led to the front door. Who knows, maybe Santa has been here already...?
And because the  decorations on my card didn't go with all the snow on the ground I used a white acrylic marker to add snow to all the other elements as well.

As the bottom of  my snowglobe I used the die from the snowglobe set. I die cut it from dark grey cardstock and shaded it with Black Soot. This brings out the great woodgrain details the die cuts into the paper even better. The outlines/detail lines I die cut grom black cardstock.
On this bottom part of the snowglobe there was room for my text. The label and the text are from the same set. I die cut the label from light grey cardstock and silver mirror cardstock. I used my scissors to cut out the center of the silver piece so I ended up with a silver frame.
I shaded the label with Hickory Smoke and then glued the text, that I cut from black cardstock, onto it. And to add just a touch of color to the snowglobe bottom I added the floral decoration from the snowman's hat from Snowglobe Large Traditional Snowman AddOn. The berries I cut from white cardstock.

To turn my snowglobe  into a snowglobe shaped card I glued the snowglobe, after putting it together, onto a top folding note card. It's larger than a standard sized card - I simply made my own from white cardstock. I placed the fold about 1/4" under the top edge of the snowglobe. Then I used my scissors to cut through  both layers all around the snowglobe.
As the last step I added three white clay hearts as decoration.

Eine Halloween-Hochzeitskarte

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
There are people that plan their wedding on Halloween, and some of them with the purpose of using Halloween as the theme for their party. For those people also the wedding card  can be a bit spooky. And my idea for that is what I am sharing  with you today.

The whole idea started with the The Lovers tarot card from the Tarot Skelly stamp set by ScrappyTails. And from them are all the products I used on this card.
This card is a PopUp Tunnel Card - the base and arch details are made with the Cathedral PopUp die. I die  cut the pieces from different  shades of grey cardstock and shaded some of them with a bit of Distress Ink Hickory Smoke  and Black Soot.
The torn curtains I die cut from black cardstock and backed it with dark grey cardstock.
I splattered some white acrylic paint onto the  top layer to add some structure to the stones.

Hier kamen Distress Ink Old Paper, Peeled Paint, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot zum Einsatz.

Main attraction are - of course - the bride and groom - and at Halloween these are skeletons. I stamped the The Lovers tarot card from said stamp set and in addition also the hat of the magician with black ink. Then I used the matching coloring stencils to very simply shaded them with Distress Ink Old Paper, Peeled Paint, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. I used these colors on all the elements of the card so everything fits together.
I used the matching outline dies to cut out the lovers and my scissors for the hat. To make this couple look more like bride and groom instead of "just" lovers I glued the hat onto the man's head. For the bride I created a veil from a piece of white tulle and decorated it with a black flower.

And behind the couple I glued on a church window with the moon shining through it. This is the window from Cathedral Door Trifold AddOn. I die cut the frame from dark grey, the sky behind it from dark blue cardstock. Onto the sky I white heat embossed  the moon and stars from the Tarot Skelly stamp set and then glued the window details on top. These I die cut from silver mirror cardstock to make the windows look like leaded glass windows.

And because only the upper bodies of  the lovers are shown on the tarot card I had  to fill the area underneath with something else, or the image would have looked weird. So I used some branches and flowers from A7 Skeleton Lovers Tarot Card Cover Plate and glued them directly behind the layer with the curtains. I had inked them with Distress Inks as well. And also the flower on the bride's veil  is made with one of these dies. I think, the way these flowers are arranged here they kind of look like vines, that start to overgrow the entry to the church.
On the left and right side of the top layer I added two large chandeliers, again from Cathedral PopUp Tunnel. These are a bit taller originally. To make them work with the rest of the scene I cut off the top part, cut the stand a bit shorter and glued them back together. I covered the seam with a black bow and some leaves.
I die cut the chandeliers from silver mirror cardstock. And to make everything work together  I've decided  to color the candle flames green, too.
Along the bottom edge of the card I added a little text. It's from Mini Valentine Tickets and originally not really  made  with Halloween in mind. But I think, in combination with the image, this text might get some kind of other meaning...
I stacked three layers of white cardstock and added a shadow layer cut from black cardstock.

And then the top of  my card needed a bit of decoration, too. Because ribbons and bows are often used as wedding decoration I die cut the ribbon from Christmas House Trifold from white cardstock and shaded it with Peeled Paint.  From the same set is also the bow, that I also adhered to the chandeliers.
I've hung up that decoration across the top of the card.

As flower centers I used small silver pearls and added some of then also to the ribbon and bows.
And since this is a wedding card after all I couldn't resist to add at least a few small hearts. So I glued a white clay heart to the left and right of the text and onto the groom's hat.
