Hello everyone!
The day I made this card I had originally planned to make my grandson's birthday card. But german post had different plans and decided to let the die I had ordered for that card take a little detour. Since I don't like UFOs - UnFinished Objects - I thought about what I could make instead and came across the Little Zombie Agenda by MamaElephant, that I hadn't used yet. It was about time, Halloween is nearly here!
Ja, sieht man.
Since I really wasn't prepared to make a Halloween card I was a bit at a loss at what to make with these little zombies. But then I also came across the Halloween Neighborhood stamp set by SweetNovemberStamp, that I also hadn't used yet. So I did some masking and stamped the scene with black ink onto white cardstock. The two streets/row of houses actually don't fit together like that. I did it anyways and added the sidewalk to the houses in the top left by hand. Yes, you can tell that, but it doesn't bother me.
And because I wanted this to look like nighttime and dark I first laid a solid layer of a mid grey alcohol marker over the whole scene except the little bit of sky. Then I put the other colors on top. Well, "colors" is a bit too much here. Except for the trees and the windows I used more shades of grey to color the scene. I also didn't pay much attention to detail while doing the coloring, I just wanted the street with the houses recognizable.
And then I stamped all the zombies from said Little Zombie Agenda stamp set, that are moving left or right. There weren't enough of them to fill my street and turn it into a zombie apocalypse. So I added a few of the mummies from Little Mummy Agenda inbetween.
I stamped all the images onto white cardstock, colored them with the same shades of greens and browns and cut them out with my scissors. Then I glued them onto the street.
And because there has to be some fog on Halloween I put some over the images. I simply made short lines with a thick white gel pen and immediately wiped over them with my fingers.
Well, the fog turned out a bit too dense and light. That's because I thought green fog might look great. So I put some light green over the white using an alcohol marker. Well, it turned out that did not look great. So I applied a second layer of white on top and that made the fog more intense than I had in mind. But I still like it.
From vellum I die cut some tiny ghosts using a die by Memorybox and hid them behind the trees and bushes. I used my cutter to cut slits around the images and partly tucked the ghosts through them. This way I was also able to adhere them to the back and hide the glue.
Meine Karte sollte eher clean werden - also zumindest was Deko angeht.
I wanted this card to be on the cleaner side - at least when it comes to decorations. But it still needed a text. So I white heat embossed two texts from Spooky Spirits by Stampers Anonymous next to each other onto the top left corner of the background.
And here you can also see that there are two Jack 'o Lanterns on the sidewalk in front of the house in the top left. These are also from Halloween Neighborhood. I went over the faces with a gold gel pen, but you still can't really see these very well because I used a dark green marker again to color these in.
Here you can see that I didn't use a single piece of foam tape on this card - a rarity with me. I also skipped any splatter or decorations completly and only glued the card panel onto a white note card.
