Craft Roulette Episode #342

Meine Karte nach den Vorgaben der Episode #342 von Craft Roulette ist eine Weihnachtskarte geworden. Und das, ohne dass die Parameter dies explizit gefordert hätten. Es passte irgendwie einfach zusammen. Die Parameter lauten diesmal:

My card after the parameters of episode #342 of Craft Roulette turned out a christmas card. Not that the parameters would call for it, but it just fit. The parameters this week are:

project: 4 bar card

colors: fairy tale

element: kid's book

random: paper clip.

 

Eine 4 Bar Card ist ein bestimmtes Kartenformat mit den Maßen 3,5" x 5". Sie ist also etwas kleiner als eine "normale" Karte. Aber der Platz reicht trotzdem für genug Deko.

Ich habe mit diesen Maßen den Aufleger aus blau-grauem Cardstock geschnitten - meine Karte an sich ist später also einen Tick größer... 

Die Ränder des Cardstocks habe ich mit Distress Oxide Stormy Sky und Black Soot gewischt. Dann habe  ich mit weißer Stempeltinte den Christmas Background von MFT aufgestempelt.

 

A 4 bar card is a special card size measuring 3,5" x 5. So it's a bit smaller than a regular card, but there's still plenty of room for decorations.

I cut a piece of blue-ish grey cardstock that size - my finished card is a bit larger...

I inked the edges of the cardstock with Distress Oxide Stormy Sky and Black Soot. Then I used white pigment ink to stamp the Christmas Background by MFT onto it.

 

 Hauptelement meiner Karte ist ein aufgeschlagenes Buch. Ich habe es mit der Open Book Stanze von WaffleFlower gemacht - das Cover aus blauem Cardstock, darauf befinden sich zwei Lagen Seiten, die ich jeweils ein wenig schräg aufgeklebt habe.

Die oberste Seitenlage habe ich mit meiner Szene und meinem Text gefüllt. Erst habe ich den Mond aus dem Halloween Night Set von WhimsyStamps mit hellblauer Tinte aufgestempelt und ein wenig mit Alkoholmarkern schattiert. Dann habe ich ihn mit einer Maske abgedeckt und den Rest der Seiten mit Distress Oxide Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans und Black Soot gewischt. Als Sterne habe ich silberne Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt. Die Seiten darunter habe ich nur ein wenig mit Black Soot abgedunkelt.

Im unteren Bereich befindet sich eine Landschaft mit Schloss. Die ist mit Stanzen aus dem Kingdom Trio Set von MamaElephant sowie dem Schloss aus dem Set News Print von TheSassyClub. Ich habe alle Teile aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und die oberen Enden ein wenig  mit Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass hellblau eingefärbt. Die Highlights sind mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt. 

Quer über  den Mond habe ich dann Santa in seinem Schlitten mit Versafine Clair Nocturne aufgestempelt. Der ist aus dem Set Ready, Set, Snow von LawnFawn, das Ho Ho Ho! über Santa aus Simply Celebrate Santa. Hinter den Schlitten habe ich mit silbernen Stickles sowie einem weißen und einem silbernen Gelstift eine Glitzerspur aufgemalt. 

Hinter  das Buch habe ich noch den Snowflake Frame von SimonSaysStamp gesetzt, den ich aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt habe. 

Unten aus dem Buch hängt noch ein silbernes Lesezeichen. Es ist mit einer Stanze aus dem Book Collection Set von LawnFawn aus silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock gestanzt.  

 

Main element on my card is an open book I made that using the Open Book die by WaffleFlower - the cover I cut from blue, the two layers of pages of top from white cardstock. I glued the pages on a bit slanted. 

 On the top layer of pages I created my scene and also added the text to it. First I stamped the moon from Halloween Night by WhimsyStamps onto the pages using light blue ink, then shaded it lightly with alcohol markers. I covered the moon with a mask and inked the whole page with Distress Oxide Stormy Sky. Faded  Jeans  and Black Soot. As stars I splattered on some silver metallic watercolor. The second layer of pages I just darkened a bit with Black Soot.

In the lower area of the page there is a scene with a castle. I made that combining dies from Kingdom Trio by MamaElephant and the castle  from News Print by TheSassyClub. I die cut all pieces  from black cadrstock and brushed  some Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass along the top edges. The highlights I drew on with a white gel pen. 

Across the moon I stamped Santa in his sleigh using Versafine Clair Nocturne. He's from Ready, Set, Snow by LawnFawn, the Ho Ho Ho! above Santa's head from Simply Celebrate Santa. Behind the sleigh I created a sparkly trail using silver Stickles, and a white and a silver gel pen.

Behind the book I also put the Snowflake Frame by  SimonSaysStamp, die cut from silver glitter cardstock.  

At the bottom there is a bookmark hanging out of the book. I made that from silver mirror cardstock using a die from Book Collection by LawnFawn.  

 

 Auf die rechte der beiden Seiten habe ich dann weiß meinen Text aufembosst. Er ist aus dem Set Bookish Holiday Frames von TheGreetery. 

Hier erkennt man auch, dass ich dem vordersten Rentier am Schlitten eine rote Nase "verpasst" habe. Damit dürfte dann auch klar sein, welches Kinderbuch hier meine Inspiration war: Rudolph, das Rentier mit der roten Nase. Da ich keinen Glitzerstein oder Perle hatte, die klein genug waren, habe ich die Nase mit einem roten Glaze Pen aufgemalt. Sie ist dadurch nicht ganz so offensichtlich, aber in Wirklichkeit doch besser zu sehen als auf dem Bild.

Und ebenfalls auf dieser rechten Buchseite habe ich den Paper Clip, also die Büroklammer, untergebracht. Die ist mit einer Stanze aus dem  Tag Book PopUp Set von Karen Burniston aus silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock. Dann habe ich die Buchseite dazwischen geschoben und den Paper Clip mit einem kleinen silbernen Stern dekoriert. Ich finde, hier angebracht sieht der Paper Clip aus wie ein Lesezeichen.

 

On the right one of the two pages I white heat embossed my text  It's from Bookish Holiday Frames by TheGreetery.

Here you can also see that I gave the first of the reindeers pulling the sleigh a red nose. And now you should also recognize the kid's book, that was my inspiration: Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer. Since I didn't have a rhinestone or pearl small enough I drew the nose on with a red Glaze pen. It's not as eye catching but in real life better visible than on the pictures.

And also on this right page I added the paper clip. I die cut that from silver mirror cardstock using a die from Tag Book PopUp by Karen Burniston. Then I put the page into it and decorated the clip with a silver star confetti. I think in this position it looks like a bookmark.

 

Die obersten Buchseiten habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt und beim Aufklebe ein wenig rund gebogen. Auch das Buch samt Schneeflockenhintergrund ist damit auf  den Hintergrund geklebt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt, der 3,75" x 5,25" groß ist. 

 

The top pages I backed with thin foam tape and bent the pages a bit while glueing them down. Also the whole book including the snowflake background is glued onto the background with thin foam tape. Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card that measures 3,75" x 5,25".

Farbe trifft Stempel #5 - die Zweite

Zum Jahreszeiten-Magie Thema der Farbe trifft Stempel 2026 Challenge habe ich tatsächlich eine zweite Karte gewerkelt. Ich habe nämlich auf dem Stempelmekka diesen Santa von der Stempelbar erstanden. Für Motive dieser Art, und Wortspiele, bin ich ja anfällig. Und der war mal was anderes. Auf meiner Karte hat er es dann auch auf die Titelseite der Tageszeitungs-Sonderausgabe geschafft. Ist ja auch ein Schocker!

I made a second  card for the "the magic of the seasons" theme of Farbe trifft Stempel 2026. I found  this  Santa by Stempelbar at a recent stamp fair and had to have it. I love images like this - and puns! - and can hardly resist any of them. And this is such a different  image of Santa. On my card he made the front page of the daily news special edition. It really  is a shocker!

 

 Meine Karte  selbst ist recht  einfach gehalten. Eigentlich wollte ich Santa auf das Wanted Poster von WhimsyStamps packen, aber dafür war es zu groß - und ohne die Maße im Hintergrund hätte einfach was gefehlt. Also habe ich stattdessen die News Print Stanze von TheSassyClub verwendet und eine Zeitungssonderausgabe damit gefertigt. 

Die Zeitung habe ich aus weißem Papier gestanzt und dann mit schwarzer und roter Tinte das Titelblatt gefüllt. Dafür kamen Stempel aus den Sets News von TheSassyClub und Happy Headlines von Concord  and 9th zum Einsatz. Außerdem habe ich einen dieser "Buchstaben-Drehstempel" verwendet, um die Verbrechen, derer Santa bezichtigt wird, abzustempeln. Da hatte ich dann tatsächlich nichts im Repertoire. Eigentlich hätte ich gerne noch etwas wie "Santa arrested - christmas canceled?" mit auf die Titelseite gepackt. Aber auch da fand sich - wie fast zu erwarten - nichts passendes. So wird darüber eben im - nicht sichtbaren  - Inneren der Karte spekuliert. 

 

My card is pretty simmple. Originally I had planned to put Santa on the Wanted Poster by WhimsyStamps. But he was too large for that and without the numbers on the side the image would have looked strange. So instead I used  the News  Print die  by TheSassyClub to create a special edition of today's newspaper. 

The newspaper I die cut from white cardstock and then filled the page using red and  black ink. I used stamps from the sets News by TheSassyClub and Happy Headlines by Concord and 9th.  I also used one  of those "letter roll stamps" to write the charges that Santa was arrested for. I actually didn't have any  stamps that would have worked for that. I also had planned to add a text like "Santa arrested - chrismtas canceled?" but again - I didn't have any stamps for that. So I guess they are talking about this on the - invisible  - inside of the newspaper.

 

 Auch das Motiv ist eigentlich recht einfach zu colorieren. Ich habe das Schild bewusst etwas "ranzig" aussehen lassen und außerdem mit der Hand 24-12, angelehnt natürlich an Weihnachten, hinzugefügt. Dafür habe ich den Riss in Santa's Ärmel so übermalt, dass zumindest sein Anzug ordentlich aussieht. 

Zum Colorieren habe ich eine Mischung aus Alkoholmarkern und Polychromos verwendet. 

Das Naughty habe ich dann mit roter Tinte über das Motiv gestempelt.

 

Also the image is pretty easy to color. I made the sign Santa's holding look a bit gross and also added a 24-12, the way the date christmas eve is written in german, to it. When coloring the  image I covered the tear in Santa's sleeve so at least his dress looks good. 

I used a mix of alcohol markers and Polychromos to color the image. Then I stamped the naughty onto it using red ink again.

 

 Auch das Zusammensetzen der Karte war dann ganz einfach - eine Zeitung hat ja schließlich keine Deko. Ich hatte zwar kurz überlegt, ein paar Ilexblätter oder ähnliches aufzustempeln, habe mich aber dagegen entschieden. Also habe ich einfach das Motiv rechteckig ausgeschnitten und in den auf die Titelseite gestempelten Rahmen geklebt. 

 

Also putting this card together was very easy - a newspaper doesn't have any embellishments. I had thought about adding some holly leaves or something  similar, but decided against it. So I simply cut out the image in a rectangle and glued that into the frame I had stamped onto the cover.

Heute geht es weihnachtlich weiter - auch wenn "christmas in july" schon vorbei ist. Manchmal muss man die Feste eben feiern, wie sei kommen... ;)

 

Hello everyone!

I am sharing another christmas card with you today, even if "christmas in july" is over. Sometimes you just have to stretch a celebration... ;)

 

Auch für diese Karte kamen wieder Sets aus dem Snowglobe Card Kit von ScrappyTails zum Einsatz. Und wieder habe ich eine flache Karte gemacht. Die ist davon inspiriert, wie ich mir als Kind Weihnachten im Wald vorgestellt habe - ruhig, feierlich und minimalistisch.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück hellblauen Cardstocks. Da ich den großen Baum komplett auf die Karte bekommen wollte, ist das Format meiner Karte etwas ungewöhnlich und "frei Schnauze" angelegt. Sie ist etwa 11 cm breit und 17,5 cm hoch. Den blauen Cardstock habe ich von unten her mit Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire und Villainous Potion gewischt. 

 

Again I used dies from the Snowglobe Card Kit by ScrappyTails to create this card - and again I made a flat card. It's inspired from what I imagined christmas in the forest back when i was a kid - silent, festive and minimalistic.

The background is made from a piece of light blue cardstock. Since I wanted to have the whole large tree on my card I went with an unusual card size, just cutting it the size I needed it to be. It's about 4,5" wide and 6" tall. I inked the cardstock from the bottom up with Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire and Villainous Potion.

 

 Der große Baum aus dem Set Podium Extra Large Christmas Tree AddOn ist wunderschön. Er kommt zwar mit diversen Christbaumkugeln als Deko, die braucht er aber gar nicht. 

Ich habe die drei Lagen, aus denen der Baum besteht, aus drei verschiedenen Tönen grünen Cardstocks gestanzt und die Teile mit Alcoholmarkern nur ein ganz klein wenig schattiert. Dann habe ich den Baum zusammengeklebt und dabei den Kleber nur am jeweils oberen Ende aufgetragen. 

Hinter dem großen Baum befinden sich jeweils kleinere Bäume aus dem Set Snowglobe Wintery Forest Tree Trio Set. Die habe ich aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und von unten her ein wenig mit Black Soot abgedunkelt. 

Ich habe alle Bäume fein mit Wasser besprüht und dann Schneepuder aufgetragen - das Wasser aktiviert den Kleber im Puder, so dass es an den feuchten Stellen kleben bleibt. Das Wasser hat außerdem bewirkt, dass die nur am oberen Ende festgeklebten Äste des großen Baums sich ein wenig nach oben gewellt haben, was dem Baum einen tollen 3D Look verleiht. 

 

The large tree from Podium Extra Large Christmas Tree AddOn is so beautiful. It comes with several different ornament dies as decoration, but I think it doesn't necessarily need them.

I die cut the three layers of the tree from three different shades of green cardstock and very lightly shaded them with alcohol markers. Then I glued the tree together, applying the glue only at the top end of each branch.

Behind the large tree there are several smaller ones from Snowglobe Wintery Forest Tree Trio set. I die  cut these from dark green cardstock and shaded the bottom with a bit of Black Soot.

I misted all the trees with water and then sprinkled snow powder onto them - the water activates the glue in the powder so it sticks to the wet areas. The water also made the branches, that were only glued on at their tops, curl up a bit. That gives the tree an amazing 3D look.

 

 Oben an der Baumspitze habe ich als einzige Baumdeko den Stern aus dem Set angebracht. Er ist aus zwei Tönen gelben Cardstocks gestanzt. Von seinen Ecken ausgehend habe ich Strahlen mit einem goldenen Gelstift auf den Hintergrund gemalt. 

Die Sterne am Himmel sind mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht.

Und hier, auf dem oberen Ende des Baums, habe ich auch meinen Text angebracht. Der ist aus dem Set Polar Express Caboose PopUp. Ich habe ihn aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt.

 

to the top of the tree, as the only tree decoration, I added the star from the same set. I die cut it from two different shades of yellow cardstock. From its tips outwards I drew some rays onto the background using a gold gel pen.

The stars in the sky I drew on with a white gel pen.

And here, at the top of the tree, I  also added the text. It's made using a die from Polar Express Caboose PopUp and cut from yellow cardstock. 

 

 So ganz ohne Tiere geht es im Wald natürlich nicht. Also habe ich die drei Rehe aus dem Set Snowglobe Deer Trio and Street Lantern AddOn integriert. Die sind nicht so groß, so dass sie dem Baum nicht die Show stehlen. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alcoholmarkern coloriert. 

Hinter und unter dem Baum befinden sich zwei Schneelagen aus weißem Cardstock. Die geschwungene Lage habe ich einfach frei Hand mit der Schere geschnitten. Die Schneelagen habe ich ein wenig mit Shaded Lilac schattiert und sie dann hinter dem Baum angebracht. Darauf kamen dann die Rehe.

 

Of course a forest can not go without any animals. So I added the deer from Snowglobe Deer Trio and Street Lantern AddOn. Those aren't too large so they don't take all the attention from the tree. I die cut them from white cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers.

Behind and under the tree there are two layers of snow, made from white cardstockk. I simply cut the wavy one free hand with my scissors, then shaded both lightly with Distress Ink Shaded Lilac. I glued those behind the tree, then put the deer on top.

 

 Der Baum wirkt durch die etwas nach oben gebogenen Astspitzen schon so plastisch, dass ich beim Zusammensetzen der Szene auf 3D Tape verzichtet habe.

Auf den Stern und den Text habe ich jeweils gold-irisierenden Glitter, auf die Schneelagen eher bläulich-lila glitzernde Stickles aufgetragen. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

The tree already looks so dimensional with its bent up branch tips that I didn't use any foam tape when putting the scene together.

I applied some gold-iridescent glitter to the star and text, onto the snow layers I put down a bit of more blue-ish purple iridescent Stickles. Then I glued the card panel to a white card base.

 

Ein Weihnachtstag in Schneekugelform

Ich hatte Euch ja bereits weitere "Christmas in July" Karten angekündigt - heute zeige ich Euch eine davon. Naja, in Wahrheit ist es ein Tag geworden, aber ich habe dafür das Christmas in July Snowglobe Kit von ScrappyTails verwendet.

I already announced more "christmas in july" cards - today I am sharing another  one with you. Well, it's not really a card, but a tag and I used the Christmas in July Snowglobe Kit by ScrappyTails for  it.

 

Hauptelemente des Kits, dessen Inhalt es natürlich auch einzeln gibt, sind zwei Podium-Stanzensets. Da Sabrina, die Inhaberin von ScrappyTails aber bereits einige dieser Podiums-Karten gezeigt hat, habe ich entschieden, eher flache Karten mit den übrigen Sets zu werkeln. Und die Tall Arch Snowglobe Stanze bot sich für ein Tag geradezu perfekt an.

 

Main element of the kit, and of course the content can be purchased individually, are two podium dies. But Sabrina, the owner of ScrappyTails, already showed several of these. So I've  diceded  to make some flat cards with the other sets. And the Tall Arch Snowglobe die set was just perfect for a tag.

 

 Diese Schneekugel ist relativ schmal, dafür aber recht hoch - für eine Easel Card fand ich sie nicht so geeignet. Deswegen kam mir die Idee mit dem Tag. 

 

This snowglobe is pretty narrow but quite tall - it didn't seem right for an easel card. That's why I got the idea with the tag.

 

 Ich habe den oberen Teil der Schneekugel aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt und ihn ein wenig mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky gewischt. Dann habe ich die Schneeflocken mit einer weiteren Stanze aus dem Set hinterlegt und eine Lage weißen Cardstocks dahinter geklebt. 

In der Schneekugel sieht man zwei kleine Elfen. Da die bis Weihnachten noch ein wenig Freizeit genießen können, bauen sie einen großen Schneemann. 

Der Schneemann ist aus dem Set Snowglobe Large Traditional Snowman AddOn. Ich habe ihn aus weißem Carstock gestanzt und mit Alcoholmarkern coloriert. Im Set gibt es Stanzen um quasi jedes Element des Schneemanns zu layern - ich habe nur den Rand der Mütze, die Ilexblätter, die Karottennase und das Fell am Schal gelayert.  Die Augen und Knöpfe habe ich mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen aufgemalt. 

 Die Leiter und die Elfen sind aus dem Set Snowglobe Tall  Whimsical Tree with Ladder and Elves Set. Eigentlich schmücken sie einen großen Weihnachtsbaum. Aber die beiden passen auch super zu dem Schneemann. Ich habe beiden einfach statt einer Christbaumkugel je einen der Stöcke aus dem Schneemann-Set gegeben. Die Arme des Schneemanns habe ich einfach weggeschnitten. 

Als oberste Lage habe ich dann noch die Grundform der Schneekugel aus Acetate gestanzt und von hinten mit einem weißen Acrylmarker einige weitere Schneeflocken aufgemalt. 

 

I die cut the top of the snowglobe from light blue cardstock and shaded it with a bit of Distress Ink Stormy Sky. Then I cut the snowflakes into it using another die  from the set and put a layer of white cardstock behind them.

Inside the snowglobe there are two little elves. They still have a bit of free time before the stressful christmas time starts. So they have decided to build a huge snowman. 

The snowman is from Snowglobe Large Traditional Snowman AddOn. I die cut it from white cardstock and colored him with alcohol markers. In the set there is nearly a die to layer each part of the snowman - I only used the brim of the hat, the holly leaves, the carrot nose and the fur on the scarf, the eyes and buttons I drew with a black Glaze pen. 

The ladder and elves are from Snowglobe Tall Whimsical Tree with Ladder and Elves set. Originally those two elves are decorating a christmas tree but they work great with the snowman as well. Instead of an ornament I let each of them hold a stick from the snowman set, I cut off the snowman's arm with my scissors.

For a top layer I also die cut the  snowglobe top from acetate and used a white acrylic marker to add some snowflakes to its back.

 

 Die Teile der Schneekugel-Basis habe ich aus hell- und dunkelbraunem Cardstock gestanzt und ein wenig schattiert. Hinter der Basis konnte ich dann auch gut das Acetate ankleben und dabei den Kleber verstecken. 

Auf dieses Holzteil habe ich dann "to" und "from" geklebt. Das habe ich aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und dafür zwei kleine Stanzen aus dem Pop Up Envelope Set benutzt. Als Deko habe ich dann noch zwei kleine rosafarbene Herzen aufgeklebt.

 

I die cut the pieces for the snowglobe base from light and dark brown cardstock and also  shaded them with markers. Behind this base I was able to glue  down the acetate top and hide the glue behind that  base.

 Onto the base I glued a small "to" and "from", cut from green cardstock using two small dies from Pop Up Envelope. As decoration I added two small  pink clay hearts.

 

 Um aus der Schneekugel einen Anhänger zu machen, habe ich einen Streifen weißen Cardstocks zugeschnitten und mit der Crop-a-Dile ein Loch hineingestanzt. Außerdem habe ich die Kante mit der Schere abgerundet. Diesen  Cardstockstreifen habe ich dann hinter die weiße Lage hinter den Schneeflocken geklebt und eine weitere Lage weißen Cardstocks dahinter gesetzt. Das gibt dem Tag zusätzlich Stabilität, außerdem kann man darauf auch noch einen persönlichen Gruß schreiben.

Die Nahtstelle habe ich dann mit einer grünen Schleife verdeckt. Die ist aus dem Large Moving Podium Base Set und wieder mit Alcoholmarkern coloriert. Hinter ihr konnte ich auch den Kleber, mit dem ich die Acetate-Lage am oberen Ende der Schneekugel angeklebt habe, verdecken.

Auf der Rückseite befindet sich dann eine weitere Schleife und auch eine weitere Schneekugelbasis. So sieht der Tag auch von hinten sauber aus.

Durch das Loch in dem weißen Streifen habe ich zum Schluss noch grünes Twine gezogen.

 

To turn the snowglobe into a tag I cut a strip from white cardstock and used my Crop-a-Dile to cut a hole into it. Then I rounded the strip with my scissors. I glued this cardstock strip behind the white snowflake layer and then glued another white layer on top. That makes the tag more sturdy and also leaves room for some personal greetings. 

I've hidden the spot where the strip comes out of the snowglobe top with a green bow. It's from Large  Moving Podium Base and again colored  with alcohol markers. Behind it I was also able to hide the glue that I used to attach the acetate top to the background. 

On the back of the tag I also added a bow and a base to make the back of the tag look nice, too.

Through the hole in the hanger I put a piece  of green twine.

Jedes Jahr gibt es Christmas in July - und jedes Jahr sage ich, wie schwer ich mich damit tue, "gegen die Saison" zu basteln. Und trotzdem mache ich jedes Jahr wieder mit. Los geht es mit meiner Karte für die LawnFawnatics Challenge #224 mit dem Thema "christmas in july". Und das ist nicht die erste Weihnachtskarte, die Ihr von mir zu sehen bekommen werdet... ;)

Every year there is christmas in july - and every year I tell you how hard of a time I have crafting "against the seasons". And still, every year I am joining. I am starting with my card for the LawnFawnatics challenge #224 with "christmas in july" as the theme. And this will not be the only christmas card I am going to share with you... ;)

 

Leicht getan habe ich mich hier erstmal trotzdem nicht und habe ein Stempel- bzw. Stanzenset nach dem anderen herausgeholt. Irgendwann hatte ich dann aber eine Idee. Und so seht Ihr hier eine kleine Eule im Wald, die neugierig aus ihrer Baumhöhle schaut, ob Santa denn schon da war.... Mit dem Wach-Bleiben hat sie ja eher kein Problem!

Der Hintergrund hier besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks, den ich mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Prize Ribbon und Chipped Sapphire gewischt habe. Die kleinen Sterne habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt.

Davor befindet sich der Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop.  Den habe ich aus kraft farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alcohol Markern der Baumrinde etwas Struktur gegeben. 

 

It really took me a lot of thinking and I took out one stamp or die set after the other. But then I had an idea. And now you can see the little owl, that's curiously looking out of her tree hole, checking if Santa has finally come... Luckily she has no problem with staying up late!

The background is made from a piece  of white cardstock that I inked with Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire. I added the stars with a white gel pen.

On top of that I placed the Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop. I have cut it from craft colored cardstock and used alcohol markers to add some texture to the trees.

 

 Die Klappe im mittleren Baum habe ich mit der Schere herausgeschnitten und mit dunkelbraunem Cardstock hinterlegt. Aus dieser Höhle schaut die Eule hervor. Die ist aus dem Stempelset Simply Celebrate Winter Critters. So wie alle Elemente  auf der Karte habe ich sie mit Alcohol Markern coloriert und dann mit der Schere ausgeschnitten. 

Und natürlich hat die Eule ihren Teil des Waldes weihnachtlich geschmückt. Über ihrer Höhle hängt eine Tannengirlande. Die ist mit dem Christmas Garland Stanzenset gemacht. An den Klappen der Bäume links und rechts hat sie jeweils einen kleinen Kranz aus Build-a-House Christmas AddOn aufgehängt. Alle drei Dekoelemente sind mit helltürkis farbenen Schleifen dekoriert. 

Über der Eule habe ich dann noch eine Sprechblase angebracht. Die habe ich mit einer der Outlinestanzen des All the Speech Bubbles Sets aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und dann ein "hoo hoo hoo" aus dem Set Special Delivery weiß aufembosst. Und das ist natürlich an Santa's "ho ho ho" angelehnt. 

 

I cut off the flap of the tree in the middle and backed  it with dark brown cardstock. Out of this tree hole the little owl is looking out. She's from Simply Celebrate Winter Critters. Just like all the elements on this card I did color her with alcohol markers, then cut her out with my scissors. 

And of course the owl has decorated her neck of the woods. Above her tree hole she has hung up a garland, made with the Christmas Garland die set. To the flaps on the trees on the left and right she has hung a small wreath from Build-a-House Christmas AddOn. All three elements are decorated with aqua colored bows. 

Above the owl I've added a little speech bubble. I die cut it from black cardstock using one of the outline dies from All the Speech Bubbles, then white heat embossed a "hoo hoo hoo" from Special Delivery onto it. And of course that's done with Santa's "ho ho ho" in mind.

 

 Im unteren Bereich befindet sich mein Text, der gleichzeitig Deko ist. Die kleine Eule hat den ganzen Tag damit zugebracht ein großes "christmas" aus Schnee zu bauen. Statt des I hat sie ihren Christbaum aufgestellt. 

Das Christmas ist Teil der Giant Merry Christmas Stanze, das Merry sowie das I  habe ich weggeschnitten und alles in einem hellen Türkis coloriert. Das Merry habe ich weiß auf ein Schild aus Carrot 'bout You embosst. Den Stiel des Schilds habe ich beim Stempeln etwas verlängert und ihm beim Colorieren Schneehauben aufgesetzt. Dann habe ich es hinter das C von Christmas gesteckt. 

Der Tannenbaum ist aus Merry Mice und davor hat die Eule Kekse und Milch für Santa in den Schnee gestellt. Die sind aus dem Set Christmas Dreams. Die Schneelagen sind übrigens mit der Stitched Wavy Backdrop Landscape Stanze gemacht. Eine Lage befindet sich hinter den Bäumen, zwei weitere davor. 

 

In the lower area of the card I placed my text that's also decoration. The little owl has worked hard all day to build a large "christmas" out of snow. Instead of the I she placed her christmas tree.

The word  christmas is part of the Giant Merry Christmas die, I cut off the merry and the I and colored everything a light aqua. Then I white heat embossed the word merry onto a sign from Carrot 'bout You. When stamping the sign I made the stick a bit longer and added some snow to the sign with my coloring. Then I tucked the sign behind the C of the word christmas. 

The christmas tree is from Merry Mice. In front of/under it the owl has placed milk and cookies for Santa. Those are from Christmas Dreams.  The snowy ground layers are made using the Stiched Wavy Backdrop Landscape - there's one layer behind the trees and two in front of them. 

 

 Beim Zusammensetzen der Karte habe ich dann 3D Tape verwendet und über die Bäume, aber unter die Schneelagen einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames gesetzt, den ich aus schwarzem Carstock gestanzt habe. Da ich meine Karte in deutschem Kartenformat gemacht habe, war der Rahmen zu hoch. Also habe ich einfach den unteren Rand weggeschnitten und die oberen Schneelagen darüber gesetzt. 

Die Schleifen, den Stern auf dem Weihnachtsbaum und die oberen Hälften der gestanzten Buchstaben habe ich mit Stickles beglittert. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used foam tape to put the card together and placed one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames, cut from black cardstock, over the tree layer, but under the snow layers. I created this card in the german standard card size and so the frame was too tall. I simply cut off the bottom edge and put the snow layers on top of it. 

I used Stickles to add some glitter to the bows, the tree topper and the top of the die cut letters. Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card. 

 

Weihnachtstags 3

Mit dem heutigen Post zeige ich Euch die letzten Weihnachtstags des Jahres. 

Ich hatte ja schon geschrieben, dass es für jeden einen aufwändigeren und dann eher einfache Tags für die restlichen Geschenke gegeben hat. Diese hier sind fast ein wenig zu einfach für meinen Geschmack, aber nachdem mich die Grippe im Dezember für 10 Tage ausgeknockt hatte, musste ich irgendwie rumkommen. Und gefallen tun sie mir trotzdem.

With today's post I am sharing with you the last of the christmas tags of 2025.

I had alreaday mentioned that I have made one a bit more elaborate tag for everyone and put simpler ones on the other presents. Well, these are nearly a bit too simple for my taste. But I was sick for 10 days in december and had a hard time finish everything I wanted. And I still like these.

 

Die Tags sind alle identisch gearbeitet, nur die Motive in der Mitte unterscheiden sich. Stellvertretend habe ich für die übrigen Bilder einfach eines der Tags rausgepickt.

 

I made all of the tags identically, only the images in the center are different. So I just picked one for the rest of the pictures of this post.

 

 Die Tags sind wieder mit Artikeln von TheGreetery gemacht - und eigentlich waren sie das, was ich als Haupttags machen wollte, zumindest so ähnlich. Aber da kam mir ja dann ein weiteres Release dazwischen....

Ich habe hier wieder eines der Capsule Basics aus cappuccino-farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und damit die Basis für meinen Tag gefertigt. 

Unten auf den Tag habe ich zwei Ilexblätter, Teil einer der Bordüren aus dem Capsule Basics Quick Tags Set, mit grüner Tinte aufgestempelt. Darüber habe ich dann mit silbernem Embossingpulver  ein Merry Christmas aus dem selben Set aufembosst. Außerdem habe ich mit einem silbernen Gelstift einen Rahmen aufgemalt. Dafür habe ich die Stanze wieder aufgelegt und entlang der inneren Kante nachgemalt, so wird der Rahmen schön sauber.

Oben habe ich erst ein Loch in das Oval gestanzt und ein Stück silber-weißes Twine hindurchgezogen. Das Loch habe ich dann mit einer der Schleifen aus Regency Bow No. 2 abgedeckt. Die habe ich aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert.

 

Again I used products by TheGreetery for my tags - and these are what I had planned originally, at least something like that. But that's before the latest release happened....

Again I used one of the Capsule Basics dies as the tag base and cut that from cappuccino colored cardstock.

Onto the bottom of the tag I stamped two holly leaves, part of one of the borders from Capsule Basics Quick Tags, using green ink. Above those I silver heat embossed a merry christmas from the same set onto the tag. I also drew a thin frame with a silver gel pen - I simply put the die back onto the tag and traced the inner edge to end up with a clean line.

I cut a small hole from the top of the oval and put some silver and white twine through it. Then I covered the hole with one of the bows from Regency Bow No. 2. I die cut that from dark green cardstock and shaded it with Copics.

 

 In die Mitte des Ovals habe ich dann kleinere Tags mit Motiv geklebt. Die sind mit Stanzen aus dem Set Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Labels aus blau-grauem Cardstock gestanzt, mittig habe ich das Rechteck aus dem selben Set ausgestanzt. 

Hinter dieses Fenster passt dann perfekt eines der  Motive, die der Shortbread Shapes Holiday Rectangle Embossingfolder prägt. Ich habe sie wieder in cappuccino-farbenen Cardstock geprägt und mit der Schere ausgeschnitten. Dannn habe ich erst ein weißes Stempelkissen auf die erhabenen Stellen gedrückt und nach dem Trocknen die Beeren der Motive mit einem grünen Glaze Pen nachgemalt.

Unten auf den blauen Tag habe ich dann noch ein To: sowie eine Linie, beides mit Stempeln aus dem  Large Linked Labels Stempelset, silber aufembosst. 

 

Into the center of the oval I put a smaller tag with the image. I die cut those from grey-blue cardstock using one of the dies from Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Labels and cut the rectangle from the same set from the center.

Behind this window is the perfect spot to put one of the images made with the Shortbread Shapes Holiday Rectangle embossing folder. I embossed those into cappuccino colored cardstock again and cut them out. Then I first lightly pressed a white ink pad onto the raised areas and, after the ink had dried, colored the berries with a green Glaze Pen.

Onto the bottom of the blue tag  I silver heat embossed a To: and a line, both made with stamps from Large Linked Labels. 

 

 Die Schleife und den grauen Tag habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Als Deko habe ich dann noch ein kleines weißes Herz neben das geprägte Motiv sowie ein weiteres zwischen die beiden Ilexblätter geklebt.

 

I adhered the bow and the grey tag with thin foam tape. Then I added a white clay heart next to the embossed image and another one between the holly leaves.

 

Weihnachtstags 2

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Wie jedes Jahr an den Feiertagen zeige ich Euch die Tags, die dieses Jahr meine Weihnachtsgeschenke zieren durften. Einen habe ich Euch ja bereits gezeigt, denn der wurde bereits vorher übergeben. 

Dieses Jahr gab es für jeden Beschenkten auf dem Hauptgeschenk einen aufwändigen, auf den übrigen Kleinigkeiten etwas einfachere Tags, die zeige ich Euch dann morgen.

Like every year after Christmas Eve I share with you the tags, that I decorated my christmas gifts with this year. I already shared one with you, but that didn't really count because the gift was handed out earlier. 

This year I made a more elaborate tag for the main gift for every one, for the other, smaller gifts I made some simpler tags, that I'll share with you tomorrow.

 

Hier kamen wieder Artikel von TheGreetery zum Einsatz. Ich hatte meine Tags bereits mit Stempeln und Stanzen aus dem Marketplace Release geplant, dann kam das November-Release und all meine Pläne wurden über den Haufen geschmissen. 

Hier habe ich als Basis eines der Ovale aus Capsule Basics aus dem Eukalyptus Cardstock von Faltkarten gestanzt und mit einer farblich passenden Tinte den Christmas Background von MFT aufgestempelt. Damit der Text schön dezent bleibt, habe ich die Intensität per Second Generation Stamping abgemildert.

Aus silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock habe ich dann den von der Größer her passenden Rahmen aus dem Capsule Filigree Borders Set ausgestanzt und aufgeklebt.

 

Again I used products by TheGreetery for my tags. I had already planned my tag designs with stamps and dies from the Marketplace Release, then the november release came out and all my plans went over board.

I cut one of the ovals from the Capsule Basics die set from eukalyptus cardstock by Faltkarten und used a matching ink to stamp the Christmas Background by MFT onto it. To not end up with a too intense text I did some second generation stamping to keep it more subtle.

From silver mirror cardstock I die cut the Capsule Filigree Borders die in the matching size and glued it on.

 

 In der Mitte jedes Ovals habe ich dann ein Label mit aufgestempeltem Text angebracht.

Das Label ist aus dem Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Labels Set und aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. 

In die Mitte habe ich dann nur das To: samt der Linie und der Zweig-Deko darunter mit grüner Tinte aufgestempelt. Darunter habe ich dann silber das Merry Christmas aufembosst. Beide Texte sind aus dem  Capsule Quick Tags Stempelset.

Auf die Beeren zwischen den Zweigen habe ich jeweils drei kleine rote Glitzersteine aufgeklebt.

 

Onto the center of each oval I glued a label with a stamped on text.

The label is from the Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Labels set and cut from white cardstock. Onto the center I stamped just the To: with the line underneath and the two branches using green ink. Under it I silver heat embossed the Merry Christmas. Both texts are from Capsule Quick Tags.

I glued three small rhinestones onto the stamped berries between the two branches.

 

 Oben an den Tag habe ich dann einen der Ringe, die an Schlüsselringe mit Scharnier erinnern, aus dem Hang it Up Set angeklebt. Auch den habe ich aus silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock gestanzt.

An die obere Kante des Tags kam dann die kleinere der Schleifen aus dem Regency Bow No. 1 Set. Ich habe beide Teile aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. Für die Highlights habe ich einen weißen Polychromo verwedet, der ist nicht ganz so hart wie ein Gelstift.

 

Onto the top of the tag I adhered one of the rings, that look like key rings with a hinge, from  Hang it Up. Again I cut that from silver mirror cardstock.

Onto the top edge of the tag I then adhered the smaller bow from Regency Bow No. 1. I cut both pieces from red cardstock and shaded them with Copics. I used a white Polychromo to add the highlights, it's not as harsh as a gel pen.

 

 Unten, unter den Zierrand, habe ich dann noch einen Weihnachtsstern geschoben.

Den habe ich mit dem Bigger Holidays Botanicals Poinsettia Set jeweils einmal aus korallefarbenem und einmal aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und beide Teile mit Copics schattiert, die Highlights sind wieder mit einem Polychromo gemacht. Dann habe ich die Teile leicht versetzt aufeinander und auf den Tag geklebt. Den überstehenden Teil habe ich mit der Schere abgeschnitten.  

 Die Blumenmitten habe ich wieder aus silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock gestanzt und drei kleine weiße Perlen aufgeklebt.

 

At the bottom of the tag I tucked a poinsettia under the border frame.

 I cut that with the Bigger Holidays Botanicals Poinsettia set once from coral and once from red cardstock and shaded both with Copics. The highlights I did with a Polychromo again. I glued them on top of each other a bit offset and glued them onto the tag. Then I cut off the overhang with my scissors.

 The flower centers I cut from silver mirror cardstock again and glued three small white pearls on top.

 

 

 Beim Zusammensetzen der Tags habe ich auf 3D Tape verzichtet - die Teile waren einfach zu filigran. Aber ich bin wirklich sehr zufrieden mit ihnen.

 

I didn't use any foam tape to put the tags together - the pieces were just to thin and fine. But I really love how they turned out.

 

Weihnachtstags 1

Heute zeige ich Euch das erste der diesjährigen Weihnachtstags für die Familie. Dieses hier ist für meinen Enkel, der jede Art von Tieren liebt. Also habe ich ein Weihnachts-Alpaka auf seinen Tag gesetzt.

Today I am starting to share with you the gift tags I made for my family this year. This is the one I made for my grandson. He loves all animals so I decided to create a christmas alpaca for his tag.

 

Als Basis für den Tag habe ich ein Stück brauner Wellpappe oben mit einer Rundung versehen - die habe ich einfach mit der Schere geschnitten.

Aus braunem Hologramm-Cardstock mit Muster habe ich eines der Nesting Pierced Labels von WaffleFlower gestanzt und mit 3D Tape auf die Wellpappe geklebt, dann habe ich noch die Ecken, die unter den nach innen gebogenen Ecken sichtbar waren, weggeschnitten.

Ich habe ein Loch in den halbrunden Teil oben gestanzt und dort dann ein Schneeflocken-Eyelet angebracht. 

 

As the base for my tag I added a round shape to the top of a strip of brown corrugated cardstock, simply by using my scissors.

From brown holographic cardstock with a pattern I cut one of the Nesting Pierced Labels by WaffleFlower and glued that with foam tape onto the corrugated paper. Then I cut off the corners, that were visible behind the inwards bent corners of the label.

I punched a hole into the half circle at the top and added  a snowflake shaped eyelet there. 

 

 Für das Alpaka habe ich dann wild Stanzen verschiedener Hersteller gemixt. Das Alpaka habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert, die Augen sind mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen aufgemalt.

Die Nikolausmütze habe ich aus rotem Cardstock gemacht, sie ist aus dem Wackel-Santa Set von Spellbinders. Allerdings war sie zu klein. Also habe ich einfach noch eine andere Weihnachtsmütze ausgestanzt und nur das Ende mit dem Bommel seitlich am Alpaka angebracht.

Um den Hals habe ich dem Alpaka dann erstmal zwei Kränze gelegt. Die sind aus dem Laternen-Set von CreativeDepot. Ich habe jeweils einen aus hell- und dunkel-grünem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Copics schattiert und sie dann aufeinander geklebt. 

Die große Schleife hatte ich noch von anderen Tags übrig - wer zählen kann, dem passiert das nicht - und so habe ich sie vorne am Alphaka befestigt. Sie ist aus dem Regency Bow No. 1 Set von TheGreetery. Und zwischen die Schleifen habe ich ein kleines goldenes Glöckchen aus einem Stanzenset von Action gesetzt.

 

For the alpaca I  mixed dies from all kinds of brands. I cut the alpaca from white cardstock and colored it with Copics, the eyes I added with a black Glaze Pen.

The Santa hat I cut from red cardstock, it's from the dangling Santa die set by Spellbinders. But it was too small. So I simply cut a different Santa hat and adhered just the end with the pompom next to the alpaca's face.

I put a wreath around the alpaca's neck. I used the lantern die set by CreativeDepot and cut one from light, one from dark green cardstock, shaded them with Copics and glued them on top of each other.

The large bow I had left over from some other tags I made - this doesn't happen if you count right while die cutting. I simply adhered that to the front of the alpaca. The bow is made with the Regendy Bow No. 1 die set by TheGreetery. Between the bow loops I put a little bell, made using a die set by Action.

 

 Das Alpaka habe ich wieder mit 3D Tape hinterlegt und es dann auf das Tag geklebt. Das Ende des Alpakas habe ich dabei unter den Folien-Rahmen geschoben.

Zum Schluss habe ich als Deko noch einige weiße Schneeflocken auf dem Tag verteilt.

 

I backed the alpaca with foam tape and glued it onto the tag, tucking the bottom of the alpaca behind the foil frame.

Then I decorated the tag with a few small white snowflakes.

 

Weihnachtskarte im Geschenk-Look

Das Basteln geht bei mir ja immer phasenweise und momentan bin ich wohl tief in der Stanzen-Phase. Zumindest ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich momentan eher wenig Gestempeltes auf meinen Karten verwende. Die heutige Karte ist da keine Ausnahme...

I craft in phases and at the moment I am deep in a cutting die phase. I realized that I use very little stamps lately. Today's card is no exception...

 

Die Karte ist eigentlich ganz simple und trotzdem gefällt sie mir super gut.

Ich habe mit Distress Ink Lost Shadow den Magic Stars Background von SimonSaysStamp auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks gestempelt. Den habe ich dann von außen her ebenfalls mit Lost Shadow ein wenig schattiert. 

 

The card is a pretty simple one but I really love the outcome.

I used Distress Ink Lost Shadow to stamp the Magic Stars Background by SimonSaysStamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Then I darkened the edges just a bit using Lost Shadow again.

 

 Mit der Big Beautiful Bow von TheGreetery habe ich den weißen Cardstock dann in ein Geschenk verwandelt. Ursprünglich wollte ich roten Cardstock für die Schleife nehmen, aber die Farbkombi rot und grün ist ja nicht so meins. Also habe ich stattdessen altrosa- und dunkelrot farbenen Glittercardstock benutzt.

Den Streifen aus dem Set habe ich zweimal aus dem rosafarbenen Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt und kreuzweise auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

Die Schleifenteile habe ich dann aus beiden Tönen des Glitter-Cardstocks gestanzt und zudem ein wenig mit Polychromos schattiert. 

Den kleinen Tag aus dem Set habe ich aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und dann einen kleinen Weihnachtsgruß weiß aufembosst. Dafür habe ich Stempel aus den Sets Offset Sayings Christmas und Henry's Build a Sentiment Winter von LawnFawn benutzt. Den Tag habe ich dann mit etwas weißem Twine an die Schleife gebunden.

Vor dem Aufkleben der Schleife habe ich noch einige Zweige dahinter geklebt. Die sind mit Stanzen von Magnolia, MFT, SU und Simple and Basic aus verschiedenen Grüntönen gestanzt. Ich habe die Teile jeweils farblich passend mit Copics schattiert. Außerdem habe ich einige weiße Perlen als Beeren aufgeklebt.

 

I turned the white cardstock into a gift by adding the Big Beautiful Bow by TheGreetery. Originally I wanted to create a red bow, but I don't like the color combo of red and green too much. So instead I used some vintage pink and dark red glitter cardstock.

I cut the strip from the die set two times from the pink glitter cardstock and glued them crosswise onto the background.

I cut the other bow pieces from both tones of the glitter cardstock and then shaded them with Polychromos. 

The small tag from the set I cut from light grey cardstock and white heat embossed a christmas greeting onto it. I used stamps from Offset Sayings Christmas and Henry's Build a Sentiment Winter by LawnFawn for the greeting. I tied the tag to the bow with a piece of white twine.

Before adhering the bow I put some greenery behind it. I cut it from different shades of green carstock with dies by Magnolia, MFT, SU and Simple and Basic.  I shaded these a bit with Copics and also added some white pearls as berries.

 

 Auch wenn es so aussehen mag, ich habe hier tatsächlich kein 3D Tape benutzt. Um der Schleife etwas Tiefe zu geben, habe ich die Teile vor dem Zusammenkleben jeweils ein wenig mit dem Daumen gebogen. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

 

Even if it may look otherwise, I didn't use foam tape here. To give the bow some dimension I bend the pieces a bit with my thumbs before putting the bow together. 

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.
