Passend zum 1. November läute ich die Weihnachtsbastelzeit ein. Und so ist auch meine Karte nach den Parametern der Episode 343 von Craft Roulette eine Weihnachtskarte geworden.

Right on november 1st I am starting christmas craft season. And so my card after the parameters of Craft Roulette episode #343 is a christmas card, too.

Ich habe hier eine Zeitungs-Extraausgabe zum Start der Weihnachtssaison gestaltet. Die hat dann auch die Form einer Zeitung.
Die Kartenbasis habe ich mit der News Print Stanze von TheSassyClub gemacht. Ich habe sie aus ganz leicht cremefarbene Cardstock gestanzt und sie mit Distress Inks Old Paper und Frayed Burlap auf alt getrimmt. Meine "Bücherei" Farben sind nämlich von der Vintage Chrismtas Book Abteilung inspiriert. So wie später auch die Stanzteile habe ich zudem Polychromos verwendet, um Details und weitere Schattierungen aufzumalen.
Die Zeitung ist knapp 5" x 7" groß, hinter der dekorierten Zeitung befindet sich eine weitere, die ich aus gefaltetem weißem Cardstock gestanzt habe und die Stanze dabei so platziert habe, dass die Falz auf der linken Seite ganz knapp neben der linken Stanzkante liegt. So habe ich eine auffaltbare Karte.
I made a newspaper special edition for the start of christmas season. It also has the shape of a new paper.
The card base is made using the News Print die by TheSassyClub. I die cut it from offwhite cardstock and then used Distress Ink Old Paper and Frayed Burlap to make it look old. My library colors are inspired from the vintage christmas book section. And just like later also the smaller die cuts I used Polychromos to add some more details and shading.
The newspaper measures about 5" x 7". Behind the decorated newspaper I placed another one, that I die cut from white cardstock, moving the die just a bit to the left so the folded edge of the card base is inside the die to create a newspaper shaped card base.
Zum Bestempeln der Zeitung habe ich dann das Happy Headlines Stempelset von Concord and 9th verwendet. Das passt von der Größe und Form her nicht exakt auf die News Print Stanze. Also habe ich immer nur Teile des Stempels mit Tinte eingefärbt und sie passend aufgestempelt. So konnte ich auch verschiedene Farben - für Weihnachten natürlich rot und schwarz - zum Abstempeln benutzen.
Die Querlinien auf der Karte habe ich mit einem goldenen Gelstift aufgemalt.
Und hier oben an der rechten Ecke der Karte befindet sich dann auch mein Tag - wobei man hier tatsächlich die berühmten "stretchy pants" anziehen muss. Den ein "price tag" ist auch ein Tag, und so bildet der auf die Zeitung aufgestempelte Preis meinen Tag...
To stamp the text onto my newspaper I used the Happy Headlines stamp set by Concord and 9th. It doesn't fit the News Print die in size or shape exactly. So I only stamped parts of the image, moved the stamp and added another element. This way I was also able to use different colors to stamp the texts - for christmas of course red and black.
The lines on the newspaper I drew on with a gold gel pen.
And here in the top right corner of my card you can also find my tag - but you really have to put on your stretchy pants here. A "price tag" is a tag as well, so the price, that's stamped onto the newspaper, is my tag element...
In der linken Spalte der Zeitung habe ich erst ein "it's christmas time" rot aufgestempelt. Dafür habe ich Stempel aus den Sets Henry's Build a Sentiment Winter und Henry's Build a Sentiment Birthday von LawnFawn kombiniert. Dann habe ich mit dem goldenen Gelstift einen Schatten an die Buchstaben gemalt.
Darunter, in einen Rahmen gesetzt, sieht man eine Aufnahme von Santa. Und der ist natürlich gut gelaunt, denn jetzt geht seine liebste Jahreszeit los. Der ist aus einem der diesjährigen Stempel- und Stanzensets von Action. Und auch die übrigen Stanzteile auf der Karte sind aus Weihnachtssets von Action, allerdings aus älteren.
Wie schon erwähnt, habe ich die Stanzteile ebenfalls mit Polychromos schattiert, ebenso den Fotohintergrund hinter Santa. Den Rand seiner Mütze habe ich mit Ilexblättern dekoriert, den Bommel an der Mütze habe ich durch einen Pompom ersetzt.
In der rechten Seite kommt erstmal der "Wetter"Bericht des Tages. Und der sagt mit den Schneeflocken gleichzeitig aus, dass es der perfekte Tag für heiße Schokolade und Lebkuchen ist.
Darunter befindet sich dann noch die rechte Spalte der Happy Headlines.
In the left column of the newspaper I started with a "it's christmas time", stamped with red ink. I used stamps from Henry's Build a Sentiment Winter and Henry's Build a Sentiment Birthday by LawnFawn for it and added a shadow next to the letters using the gold gel pen again.
Und it, in a frame, is a picture of Santa. And of course he is in a good mood because now "his" season is starting. I used dies from one of this's years stamp and die sets by Action. And also the other die cuts on the card are made with dies by Action, just ones from years past.
As mentioned already did I use Polychromos to shade the die cuts. I also used them to do the background behind Santa. I decorated the brim of his hat with some holly leaves and added a white pompom to the tip.
In the right column I started with today's forecast. Besides snowflakes it also predicts some hot chocolate and gingerbread. Under that I added the text from Happy Headlines.
Natürlich darf auf einer Weihnachtskarte ein wenig Bling nicht fehlen. Also habe ich einige antik-goldene Perlen auf der Karte verteilt und sie auch als Beeren an den Ilexblättern benutzt. Den Preis-Tag habe ich zudem mit Glossy Accents überzogen. Und hinter Santa und die Elemente der Wettervorhersage habe ich dünnes 3D Tape gesetzt, um sie ein wenig hervorzuheben.
Of course there has to be a bit of bling on a christmas card. I scattered some antique gold rhinestones to the card and also used them for the berries on the holly leaves. The price tag I also covered with Glossy Accents. To glue down Santa and the elements of the forecast I used thin foam tape.
