Eine Freundin von mir heißt mit Nachnamen Bär und bei dem Namen muss sie damit leben, dass sie jedes Jahr eine Geburtstagskarte mit Bären bekommt. Jetzt war es wieder so weit und hier ist die diesjährige Karte.

A friend of mine has "bear" as her last name. And with this name she has to live with the fact that she always gets birthday cards with bears on it. She just celebrated her birthday a few days ago and this is the card I made her.
Meine Karte ist eigentlich recht einfach gehalten - das liegt aber wohl daran, dass der Bär so groß ist. Aber der soll ja auch das Haupt-Augenmerk sein.
Ich habe ein Stück grauen Designpapiers mit weißen Punkten zugeschnitten und darauf dann eines der Color Block Arches von Spellbinders aufgeklebt. Der ist aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und mit einem "normalen" Bogen aus weißem Cardstock hinterlegt. Ich liebe das Karomuster und hoffe, bald auch die rechteckige Version irgendwo zu erwischen. Der Bogen war dann der Hintergrund für mein Motiv.
My card is more on the simpler side - most likely because that bear is pretty large. But of course he needed to be the eye catcher on the card.
I cut a piece of grey patterned paper with tiny white dots and then glued one of the Color Block Arches by Spellbinders on top. I die cut it from black cardstock and backed it with a solid arch, cut from white cardstock. I love the checked borders and really hope to get my hands on the rectangle version soon. The arch makes the backdrop for my image.
Der Bär ist der Spectacular Bear von Spellbinders. Und auch die Accessoires, die er dabei hat, sind von Spellbinders, einige aus der Just Add Cake Box.
Den Bären habe ich aus hellgrauem Cardstock, Nase und Bauch aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Die Teile habe ich leicht mit Distress Ink Pumice Stone schattiert. Für die Backen des Bären habe ich Tattered Rose verwendet.
Der Geburtstagsmuffin ist eigentlich ein Weihnachtspudding, der mit dem Bären kommt. Ich habe eine Kerze aus einem der Sets aus dem Just Add Cake Set hineingesteckt, das Papierförmchen ist ebenfalls aus dem Set mit dem Bären. Im Arm hält der Bär eine Blume aus einem weitere Set aus der Just Add Cake Box. Und auch der Partyhut ist daraus.
Die komplette Karte ist in schwarz, grau und rot gehalten, einige Teile habe ich aus Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt.
Und eigentlich bin ich kein Fan davon, gestanzten Figuren Wimpern anzumalen. Aber hier hat es einfach so gut gepasst, also habe ich es trotzdem getan.

I die cut the bear from light grey cardstock, the nose and belly from white. I lightly shaded the pieces with Distress Ink Pumice Stone, for the bear's cheeks I used Tattered Rose.
The birthday muffin is meant to be a christmas pudding and it comes with the bear. I put a candle from one of the sets from the Just Add Cake box into it, the paper liner comes with the bear. The bear is also holding a flower from a different set from the Just Add Cake box in his arm and the party hat is from the box also.
I used red, grey and black as the color combo for my card and die cut a few pieces from glitter cardstock.
And allthough I am not a fan of adding eye lashes to a die cut character it just worked out great here and so I did it anyways.
Der Bär hält außerdem einen Luftballon an einer langen Schnur, der Ballon steht oben über den Rahmen hinaus. Er ist aus dem Birthday Trifold AddOn Set von ScrappyTails.
Direkt auf den gepunkteten Hintergrund, angepasst an die Rundung des Bogens, habe ich dann noch ein "it's your day" mit schwarzer Tinte aufgestempelt. Das ist aus dem Birthday Balloons Greetings von TheStampMarket.
The bear is also holding a balloon on a long string, the balloon is going over the edge of the arch. The balloon is from Birthday Trifold AddOn by ScrappyTails.
Directly onto the dotted background, bent to fit the shape of the arch, I stamped down a "it's your day" using black ink. The text is from Birthday Balloons Greetings by TheStampMarket.
Und ganz unten habe ich noch einen Geburtstagsgruß quer über die Karte geklebt. Der ist aus dem Gift Card Greetings Set von MFT und weiß auf roten Cardstock embosst.
At the bottom I glued strip with a stamped on birthday greeting across the bottom of the card. It's from Gift Card Greetings by MFT and white heat embossed onto red cardstock.
Ich habe alle Elemente direkt auf die Karte geklebt, nur der obere Teil des Ballons, des Partyhuts und die Blüte der Blume sind mit 3D Tape hinterlegt.
Als Deko habe ich einige rote Sternkonfetti auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
I glued all the elements directly onto the background, only backed the balloon, the top of the party hat and the top of the flower with foam tape.
I added some red star confetti as decoration and then glued the card panel onto a white note card.
