Hello everyone!
On this card that I made for the WhimsyStamps Halloweeners Team you can see some pumpkins that are all ready for Halloween. They might look kind of evil - but they are actually really friendly and are just trying their best faces for all the fun on Halloween night.
Star of this card are of course those pumpkins.
I wanted to keep the background very plain for those pumpkins to shine and just cut a piece of dark olive cardstock the right size. Then I inked the edges with just a bit of Distress Ink Ground Espresso.
And here are the pumpkins. The are from the Grumpin' Punkin' Set.
I used the InkOn3 No Line Coloring ink pad to stamp the pumpkins onto watercolor cardstock and used masking tape to mask off the two pumpkins on the sides and be able to stamp the one in the center behind them. I didn't want to cut them out but wanted them to all be on the same piece of cardstock.
Then I colored the scene in. I started with Distress Inks - the sky and ground are also made with it. And so I needed quite some colors: Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Crackling Campfire, Fired Brick, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs, Ground Espresso, Black Soot, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss. To bring out the details of the images even more I went over the coloring with Prismacolor and Polychromo pencils.
I used a black Glaze Pen to draw in the eyes and then added small white dots around the pumpkins with a white gel pen.
From very dark, nearly black cardstock I die cut the largest of the Chubby Checkers Frames and put gold glitter cardstock behind the cut out ins the frame.
Well, and then the card just looked too plain to my taste. So I changed my mind and added more elements - and of course a text.
At the lower end of the frame I glued on some grass from Mini Graves - not only outside but also inside the frame. There war this large empty spot in front of the pumpkins. Then I die cut the smoke and the dripping slime from the Potion Bottle die set from green vellum and adhered those behind the grass and onto the edge of the frame.
Also on the top of the frame I added a dripping slime.
I also added my text here. I first stamped the sign from Scream Time with the NoLine Ink again and only stamped it partially to not only make it less tall but also remove the hands of the monster, that is holding the sign up originally.
I colored the sign the same way I also did the rest of the images and then backed it with light brown cardstock.
Onto the sign I glued a large BOO, made with the Mix and Mingle Alphabet set. One of the Os here is originally a Zero. I wanted them to be the same size but look different. I backed the letters, that I have shaded with Peeled Paint, with light brown cardstock.
Under the sign there's a smaller text, that I put together from stamps from Grumpin' Punkin'. I really hope this text makes sense, it sounds good to me. I white heat embossed this text onto dark olive cardstock.
And in the sky behind the pumpkins I then added the little witch on her broom from Roaming Monsters. I die cut her from black cardstock and backed her light brown.
I adhered the frame with foam tape and then glued the texts with foam tape again on top of the frame.
As decoration I added some gold sequins and then glued the card panel onto a white note card.
