Heute zeige ich Euch meine Karte für die  aktuelle  LawnFawnatics Challenge. Eigentlich hatte ich mir dan dem Tag gedacht, mal wieder eine Karte mit mehr Stempelmotiven machen zu wollen, denn ich hatte so richtig Lust aufs Colorieren. Das Thema lautet aber "Dies Only". Also  habe ich die Stanzen hervorgeholt und mein Vorhaben vertagt. Spaß hat es natürlich trotzdem gemacht!

Today I am sharing with you my card for the current LawnFawnatics challenge. That day I had planned to make a card with more stamped images because I was really in the mood for coloring. But the theme is "dies only". Well, I brought out my dies and moved the coloring to another day. Of course making this card was still lots of fun!

 

 Bevor  wir zur Karte kommen, muss ich aber noch meine Freude mit Euch teilen - ich habe nämlich gerade herausgefunden, dass ich die Gewinnerin der letzten Challenge bin! Und so darf ich stolz mein Badge mit Euch teilen:

 So, jetzt aber zur Karte für die neue Challenge. 

Ich habe eine Karte zum Abschluss gemacht, es ist ja gerade die Zeit dafür. Und ich hatte das Build-a-Critter Graduation Accessoires noch nicht eingeweiht hatte. 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück grünen Designpapiers aus dem Watercolor Wishes Paper Pad. Ich habe die Ränder mit Distress Ink Mowed Lawn und Rustic Wilderness etwas abgedunkelt und dann mit dem Starry Sky Stencil und goldener Astro Paste die Sterne aufgetragen. Außerdem habe ich außen auf den Rand etwas weiße Acrylfarbe aufgeespritzt. 

Im oberen Bereich habe ich quer über die Karte eines der Banner aus Bunting Borders geklebt. Die Fähnchen habe ich aus zwei verschiedenen Tönen grünen Cardstocks gestanzt und dann ein Stück goldene Kordel als Schnur entlang des oberen Rands angebracht.  Die kleinen Fähnchen habe ich mit Copics schattiert.

 

But now on to the new challenge.

I made a graduation card, it's that time of the year again. And I still hadn't used the Build-a-Critter Graduation Accessoires die set. 

The background  is made from a green sheet from Watercolor Wishes paper pad. I inked the edges with a bit of Distress Ink Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness and then used the Starry Sky and gold Astro Paste to apply the stars. I also splattered a bit of white acrylic paint just onto the outer edges of the paper.

In the upper area I glued a banner from Bunting Borders across the card. I die cut the individual banners from two shades of green cardstock and then glued a piece of gold twine across the top as the ribbon. The small banners I did shade with Copics. 

 

 In die Mitte der Karte habe ich ein dann ein BIG gesetzt, das Teil der Giant Sending Big Hugs Stanze ist. Ich wollte unbedingt Buchstaben, denen ich die Graduation Cap aufsetzen konnte und da passte das Wort sowohl von der Größe als auch von der Bedeutung her am besten. Ich habe es aus grün gestreiftem Designpapier aus dem All the Sparkles Paper Pad ausgestanzt und die restlichen Buchstaben der Stanze rundum mit der Schere weggeschnitten. Außerdem habe ich eine Schattenlage aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock auf die selbe Weise erstellt. Die Buchstaben aus Designpapier habe ich ein wenig mit den selben Grüntönen, die ich für den Hintergrund benutzt habe, schattiert. 

Wie schon erwähnt, habe ich die Graduation Cap aus dem Build-a-Critter Graduation Accessoires Set auf das B gesetzt. Aus dem selben Set ist auch die Diplomrolle. Und auch die Krawatte  habe ich mit Stanzen aus dem Set gemacht. Dafür musste ich ein wenig um die Ecke denken: der lange Teil ist einer der beiden langen Teile des Schals/Kragens, der zum Gewand gehört, für den oberen Teil habe ich einen Teil der Schleife/Fliege benutzt. Die Teile sind aus schwarzem und weißem Cardstock gestanzt, das Band um das Diplom aus grünem Cardstock. Und die Troddel am Hut ist aus goldenem Mirror-Cardstock. 

Rechts und links habe ich Bücher platziert, die aus dem Books Collection Stanzenset sind. Ich habe sie aus grau-grünem Cardstock gestanzt, alle Teile habe ich mit Copics schattiert.  

 

 I put a large BIG into the center of the card. That's part of the Giant Sending Big Hugs die. I really wanted to have letters that are large enough to put the graduation cap onto one of them and this word fit both, size and meaning wise. I die cut it from green striped paper pad from All the Sparkles and cut the smaller letteres off with my scissors. I also created a shadowlayer from dark green cardstock the same way. The letters cut from patterned paper I lightly shaded with the same inks I had also used on the edges of the background. 

As mentioned already I used the graduation cap from Build-a-Critter Graduation Accessoires onto the B. From the same set is also the diploma. And also the necktie is made using dies from this set, I just went a bit creative here. The long part is one side of the sash, for the top part I used one half of the bow tie.  I cut the pieces from black and white cardstock, the ribbon around the diploma I cut from green cardstock. The tassle is made from gold mirror cardstock. 

To the left and right of the word BIG I added some books from Books Collection. I cut those from grey-ish green cardstock and shaded all pieces with Copics.

 

 Quer unter das Wort Big habe ich noch ein "congrats" gesetzt. Es gibt eine Congrats-Stanze, die habe ich aber nicht und sie wäre auch zu hoch gewesen. Also habe ich die Outline-Stanze des Worts Congrats aus dem Set Big Scripty Words benutzt und sie aus goldenem Mirror-Cardstock gestanzt. Das Wort ist auch so lesbar, finde ich. Auch dieses Wort habe ich mit einer Schattenlage aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock versehen. 

 

Under the word BIG I  added a "congrats". There is a congrats die, but I don't have that and it would have been too tall anyways. So I used the outline die of the word congrats from Big Scripty Words and cut it from gold mirror cardstock. I think, the word is legible like that. I added a dark green shadow layer again. 

 

 Um der Karte noch mehr Party-Charakter zu verleihen habe ich dann noch einige goldene Konfetti aufgeklebt. Die bestehen aus Kreisen aus goldenem Spiegel-Cardstock und die Idee war eigentlich mehr Zufall. Ich hatte nämlich auch eine der Brillen aus dem Build-a-Critter Graduation Accessoires Set ausgestanzt, sie dann aber nicht mit auf der Karte verwendet. Aber die kleinen Kreise aus den Mitten der Brillengläser, die eigentlich Müll sind, waren perfekt für große Konfetti. Also habe ich einige mehr davon ausgestanzt und aufgeklebt.

Das Wort BIG ist mit dünnem, das congrats mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. 

 

To add an even more party like look to the card I added some gold confetti. I made thos from little circles from gold mirror cardstock and it was a random idea. I had also die cut one of the glasses from Build-a-Critter Graduation Accessoires but then didn't use it on the card. But the small inner circles of the glasses were laying on my desk and I thought, they'd make the perfect confetti. So I cut out some more of these and adhered them to the card.

The word BIG is applied with thin, the congrats with thick foam tape.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Karten zum Uni-Abschluss

Unsere beiden "Kleinen" sind mit der Uni fertig, und zu diesem Anlass habe ich natürlich eine Karte gewerkelt. Nachdem nun auch die letzte - ich habe gleich noch eine für die WG-Mitbewohnerin gemacht - übergeben wurde, kann ich sie Euch endlich zeigen.

Our  "little" ones finished university and of course I made them a card. After I have handed over the last one - I also made one for a room mate - I can finally share them with you.

Für die Außenseite der Karte habe ich das Happy Headlines Stempelset von Concord and 9th benutzt. Es ist wie die erste Seite einer Zeitung gestaltet, der Text unter dem Bild und natürlich das Bild selbst können je nach Anlass variiert werden. Hier habe ich natürlich ein Graduation-Thema benutzt.

Um die "Zeitung" etwas interessanter und bis auf das Bild nicht nur schwarz-weiß zu gestalten, habe ich einige Elemente wie z. B. die Schlagzeile ein weiteres Mal auf grauen Cardstock gestempelt, ausgeschnitten und auf den weißen Stempelabdruck aufgeklebt. Den Preis habe ich auf gelben Cardstock gestempelt, ebenfalls ausgeschnitten und aufgeklebt.

For the front of the card I used the Happy Headlines stamp set by Concord and 9th. It's created like the first page of a newspaper, the text under the picture and of course the picture itself can be created matching the occasion the card is made for. Of course I went with a graduation theme here.

To make the "newspaper" a bit more interesting and, except for the image, not just black and white I stamped parts of the newspaper - like the headline - onto grey ink, cut them out and glued them in place. The price I stamped onto yellow cardstock, cut it out also and glued it down.

Auch in das Feld für das Bild habe ich hellgrauen Cardstock geklebt. Auf den habe ich zuvor mit einem Stencil und Distress Ink Hickory Smoke Strahlen aufgewischt. 

Dann habe ich ein aus rotem Cardstock gestanztes und mit schwarzen Schatten versehenes YAY! aus einzelnen Buchstaben gestaltet und auf das Feld geklebt. Damit es zum Thema Abschluss passt, habe ich eine Graduation Cap und ein Diplom aus dem Stempelset Smart Cookie von LawnFawn zu den Buchstaben geklebt. Die Motive sind mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten. 

Rundherum habe ich dann noch einige Sterne, gestanzt aus goldenem Spiegel-Cardstock, aufgeklebt.

Und die Wettervorhersage sagt Konfettiregen hervor.... Dafür habe ich einen kleinen Partyhut aus dem Magical Frame Stanzenset von Create a Smile aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt, den Bommel oben abgeschnitten und dem Hut einen dunklen Schatten an der Öffnung gegeben. Dann habe ich ihn liegend aufgeklebt. Aus dem Partyhut fliegen dann zwei Luftschlagen sowie goldene Folienkonfetti und winzige schwarze Sternkonfetti. 

I glued a piece of grey cardstock into the frame for the picture/image also. Before I glued it down I inked some rays onto it using a stencil and Distress Ink Hickory Smoke.

Then I created a YAY! from red cardstock, added a black shadow to the letters and adhered them onto the grey cardstock square. To bring in the graduation theme I decorated the letters with a graduation cap and a diploma from Smart Cookie by LawnFawn. I colored the images with Copics and cut them out with my scissors.

I die cut some stars from gold mirror cardstock and placed those around the die cut letters.

The forecast predicts showers of confetti.... I die cut a small party hat from the Magical Frame die set by Create a Smile, cut off the top and added a black shadow to the opening. Then I glued it down in a laying position. Out of this "hat" there are flying some streamers, gold foil confetti and tiny black star confetti.

Beim Aufkleben der Elemente habe ich kein 3D Tape verwendet, so dass die Kartenfront so flach und eben wie möglich ist.

Die Karte ist nämlich so schon recht dick - und das liegt hieran:

To adhere the elements I didn't use any foam tape to keep the card front as flat and plane as possible. The card is already pretty thick - and here's why:

Hier habe ich auch das Innere der Karte so richtig dekoriert und dafür die Pop-Up Burst Base und das dazugehörige Pop-Up Burst of Cheer Stanzen von Concord and 9th benutzt.

Der Kartenrohling ist aus weißem Cardstock, auf den ich Decade Distress Mica Spray aufgespritzt habe. Dafür habe ich nur einen Pinsel benutzt, so dass die Flecken schön klein sind und nicht von der Deko ablenken.

I also decorated the inside of the card and used the Pop-Up Burst Base and the add-on Pop-Up Burst of Cheer die sets by Concord and 9th.

The card base is cut from white cardstock, then I added Splatters of Decade Distress Mica Spray. I used  a brush to end up with small splatters, that don't distract from the decorations.

Auch den Pop-Up Mechanismus habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und den oberen Teil etwas kürzer geschnitten, so dass die Buchstaben darüber hinausragen. Auch die Strahlen-Basen für die Sterne und Buchstaben sind aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt.

Die Buchstaben für das Wort Hooray habe ich einmal aus schwarzem und aus verschiedenen Tönen roten Cardstocks gestanzt. Jeden roten Buchstaben habe ich mit einem schwarzen Schatten versehen und dann auf den entsprechenden Strahl geklebt.

Die Sterne sind aus goldenem Spiegel-Cardstock gestanzt.

Laut Anleitung werden die Buchstaben an die Rückseite des kleineren Teils des Mechanismus geklebt -ich wolte dort aber eine zweite Ebene mit Sternen haben. Also habe ich die Buchstaben einfach auf den hinteren Teil des Mechanismus geklebt. Dafür musste ich nur die Stralen unten ein wenig kürzen.

Auf die langen Strahlen hab ich dann noch ein kleines "you did it" geklebt. Es ist aus dem Stempelset Itty Bitty Celebrations von MFT und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

Also the pop-up mechanism I've die cut from white cardstock and cut the upper part a bit shorter, so the letters go over its edges. Also the base rays for the stars and letters I die cut from white cardstock.

The letters for the word hooray I die cut from black cardstock and also from different shades of red. I put each red letter a bit offset onto a black one, then adhered them to the matching ray.

The stars I die cut from gold mirror cardstock.

According the instructions the letters are made to be glued behind the shorter part of the mechanism, but I really wanted to add a second layer of stars there. So I simply glued my letters to the back piece of the mechanism. The only adjustment I had to make was cutting off a bit of the lower  ends of the rays.

Onto the long rays I adhered a little "you did it". It's from Itty Bitty Celebrations by MFT and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

 

 Vor alles kam dann das große Banner, das ebenfalls im Pop-Up Burst Base Stanzenset  enthalten ist. Es steht ebenfalls hervor und bildet eine weitere Ebene.

Ich habe das Banner aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Distress Ink Hickory Smoke und etwas Black Soot schattiert und es dann zusammengeklebt.

Auf den größten Teil des Banners habe ich dann aus gestanzten Buchstaben das Wort "congradulations" geschrieben - ein toller Mix aus "congratulations" und "graduate". Dabei habe ich die Buchstaben für den Wortteil "grad" mit etwa  doppelt so großen Buchstaben geschrieben. Die hab ich jeweils aus schwarzem und rotem Cardstock gestanzt und aufeinander geklebt.

Unter das Banner habe ich dann noch ein - wieder weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosstes - "so proud of you" aus dem Set Family Time von MamaElephant gesetzt. Bei der Mitbewohnerin einer meiner Mädels habe ich hier ein "so excited for you" benutzt.

In front of everything I put the large banner, that comes in the Pop-Up Burst Base die set also. It's standing up as well and creates another layer inside the card.

I die cut the banner from light grey cardstock, inked it slightly with Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and a bit of Black Soot and put it together.

With die cut letters I wrote the word "congradulations" onto the larger part of the banner. For the part "grad" I used letters that are about double the height and cut them from both black and red cardstock, then stacked them.

Under  the banner I added another small text, this time a "so proud of you" from Family Time by MamaElephant, again white heat embossed onto black cardstock. For the room mate I went with a "so excited for you" here.

Als Deko habe ich dann noch kleine goldene Sterne sowie einige ausgestanzte Luftschlangen aufgeklebt.

Die Karte wirkt aufgeklappt wirklich toll  - die ganze Deko macht sie aber auch recht dick. Wie man hier sehen kann, habe ich beim Aufkleben der Kartenfront einen Streifen grauen Cardstocks mit eingefasst, der um die Karte gelegt wird. Auf der Rückseite der Karte und dem Streifen befindet sich dann ein kleiner Magnet, der sie geschlossen hält. Und um den Magneten auf der Rückseite der Karte zu verdecken, habe ich noch eine Lage weißen Cardstocks aufgeklebt. Das macht die Karte auch stabiler.

I added more small gold stars and some die cut streamers as decoration.

The opened card looks amazing - but all those decorations make it pretty thick as well. As you can see did I add a strip of grey cardstock between the card base and the front panel. It can be wrapped around the card. On the back of the card and the strip I put a small magnet, that holds the card closed. To cover the magnet on the back of the card I added another layer of white cardstock there, that makes the card more stable, too.

Eine Graduation Karte

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Auch wenn es bei uns hier nicht die klassischen Graduation-Feierlichkeiten gibt, Schulabschlüsse etc. werden natürlich auch bei uns gefeiert. Und momentan ist ja wieder die Zeit dafür. Also zeige ich Euch heute eine Karte, die zwar optisch eher Graduation schreit, aber genau so gut als Abschlusskarte für alle möglichen Schularten verwendet werden kann.

 

Hello everyone!

Here in Germany we don't have the same graduation ceremonies as in the US, but of course kids graduate here, too, and of course that's celebrated. And it's the time again right now. So today I am sharing a card with you, that looks like an american graduation, but can as well be used for graduates of all kinds of school types here.

 

Und weil sie so schön einfach zu machen ist und gleichzeitig so viel Spaß macht, kam hier wieder die Pull'n Slide Surprise Stanze von LawnFawn zum Einsatz. Klar geht die Kartenart auch ohne Stanze, aber sie macht es doch sehr viel schneller und "idiotensicher", vermessen ist unmöglich.

 

And because it's so quickly made and a lot of fun at the same time I used the Pull'n Slide Surprise die by LawnFawn again. Of course you can make a card like that without the die, but it's way faster and fool proof with it, no chance of miss-cutting anything.

 

 Natürlich lässt sich die Karte flach zusammenlegen und lässt sich so auch etwas einfacher fotografieren.

Ich habe für den Hintergrund einn Stück cremefarbenes Designpapier aus dem Let it Shine Starry Skies  Paper Pad verwendet, das gold-folierte Sterne als Muster hat. Aus dem selben Papier, diesmal in hellgrau, habe ich dann den Aufleger für den Mechanismus gestanzt. Ich hatte überlegt, den rot zu hinterlegen, aber ich finde es gerade in aufgestelltem Zustand zu schön, wenn die Muster so toll zusammen passen.

 

Of course the card can be put down flat and is also easier to photograph this way.

For the background I used a piece of cream colored patterned paper from the Let it Shine Starry Skies paper pad, that has gold foiled star constellations as the pattern. From the same paper, this time a light grey, I cut the top of my mechanism. I had thought about matting it red but, especially when the card is put up, I really like the matching patterns on both papers.

 

Zum Dekorieren der Karte kam hauptsächlich das Simply Celebrate Graduation Stempelset zum Einsatz.

Ich habe die Tafel in der Höhe verlängert, um die Karte mehr damit zu füllen. Die Innenfläche habe ich mit Distress Ink Black Soot gewischt und dann die Texte weiß aufembosst. Außerem habe ich die Kante eines weißen Stempelkissens einige Male in verschiedenen Richtungen aufs Papier gedrückt - welche Tafel ist jemals streifenfrei gewischt? Außerdem habe ich um den Text einige rote Sterne aus dem selben Set und unten links in die Ecke ein paar Bücher aus dem Bücherregal aus Cimply Celebrate Hangouts aufgeklebt.

Oben an der Tafel hängt eine Partygirlande, und in Mousetown ist die natürlich mit Käsemuster!  Die kleine Girlande ist aus dem Set TaDa Diorama Scalloped Window Add-On Set. 

To decorate my card I mainly used the Simply Celebrate Graduation stamp set.

I made the chalk board a bit taller to fill the card more. The inside I inked with Distress Ink Black Soot and then white heat embossed the texts onto it. I also lightly pressed the edge of a white pigment ink pad in different directions onto the boar - which chalk board has no white stripes when cleaned? I scattered some red stars from the same set around the text and added a stack of books from the bookshelf from Simply Celebrate Hangouts to the bottom left corner.

Across the board there's a party banner and in Mousetown this has to be made from cheese. The little garland is from TaDa Diorama Scalloped Window Add-On.

 

 Vor der Tafel steht ein Tisch aus Käse, an dem einige Schüler sitzen. Vor dem Tisch steht der Lehrer mit einem weiteren Schüler, der gerade  sein Diplom erhalten hat. Und natürlich ist auch das aus Käse... Das kleine Käsestück ist aus Crazy Antics, die stehenden Mäuse aus Whoosh Kites. Ich habe ihnen Hüte von zwei Mäuse aus dem Simply Celebrate Graduation Stempelset gegeben - und aus dem Set sind auch die Schüler im Hintergrund. Alle Motive auf der Karte sind wie fast immer mit Copics coloriert.

Über den Mäusen habe ich noch einige Sprechblasen aus All The Speech Bubbles gesetzt, in die ich Texte aus dem Sprechblasenset sowie aus Cheesy Christmas Add-On gestempelt habe. 

Als Boden habe ich unten auf den Mechanismus schwarzen Cardstock aufgeklebt.

Und unten, am Übergang des Mechanismus zum Kartenhintergrund, fehlte mir noch etwas. Also habe ich das Banner aus dem Pull'n Slide Surprise Set zweimal aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und auf eines einen weiteren Text aufembosst. Außerdem habe ich an die Enden jeweils einen Rahmen mit einem goldenen Gelstift aufgemalt. Ich habe bei dem Banner mit dem aufembossten Text die Enden abgeschnitten und, etwas nach unten versetzt, die Enden des zweiten Banner aufgeklebt. So reicht es über den kompletten Mechanismus und darüber hinaus.

 

 In front of the chalk board there's a table made from cheese and some students are sitting behind it. In front of the table there's the teacher and another student, that just got his diploma. And of course that's a piece of cheese...

The little cheese is from Crazy Antics, the standing mice from Whoosh Kites. I gave ghem graduation caps from two of the  mice from Simply Celebrate Graduation - and from this set are also the students in the background. All images on this card are colored with Copics.

Above the mice I added some speech bubbles from All the Speech Bubbles and stamped text from this set and Cheesy Christmas Add-On into them.

As a ground I added black cardstock to the bottom of the mechanism.

And at the bottom, where the mechanism ends, I  needed another element. So I cut the banner from Pull'n Slide Surprise twice from red cardstock and white heat embossed another text onto one of them. I also drew a frame onto the ends of both banners using a gold gel epn. I cut the ends of the banner with the stamped on text off and instead added the ends of the second banner, moving them a bit down. Now it covers the whole meachanism.

 

 Die Tafel ist direkt auf den Mechanismus geklebt, das Banner, die Sprechblasen und den Käsetisch mit den Schülern habe ich mit dünnem, die  beiden stehenden Mäuse mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. 

Und hier sieht man auch den Glanz des auffolierten Musters auf dem Designpapier.

 

The chalk board I glued directly onto the mechanism, the banner, the speech bubbles and the cheese table with the students I adhered with thin, the standing mice with thick foam tape.

And here you can also see the shine of the gold foiled stars on the patterned paper.

 

 Zieht man am Tab oben am Mechanismus, dann stellt sich die Szene auf - und das macht sich natürlich super. Das Designpapier ist nur noch zwischen den Mäusen und der Tafel sichtbar. 

When you pull the tab at the top of the mechanism the scene props up - and of course that's looks amazing when the card is display. The patterned paper is only visible anymore between the board and the mice.

 

 Ich habe den Mechanismus samt Szene mit 3D Tape auf das Designpapier im Hintergrund geklebt. Das muss nicht sein, aber so, finde ich, passt die Geschenkkarte besser darunter. Die wird erst sichtbar, wenn die Szene aufgestellt ist. 

I adhered the mechanism with the scene with foam tape to the patterend paper background. You don't have to, but I think, this way the giftcard fits underneath better. The gift card is only visible once the scene is propped up.

 

 Die Geschenkkarte habe ich mit zwei Glue Dots auf dem Papier befestigt, die lassen sich problemlos und rückstandsfrei entfernen. Und durch das cremefarbene Papier im Hintergrund, das dann sichtbar wird, sieht die Karte auch ohne die Geschenkkarte noch schön aus.

 

I used two Glue Dots to attach the gift card to the paper, those can be removed easily and without leaving any sticky spots left. And due to the cream colored patterned paper, that's visible now, the card still looks nice once the gift card has been removed.

Heute zeige ich meine Karte für die aktuelle LawnFawnatics Challenge und die ist (fast) nur mit Stanzen gemacht. Das Thema lautet schließlich "dies only", wobei Textstempel erlaubt sind. Zum Glück, sonst wäre die Karte um einiges fader geworden...

 

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing with you the card I made for the current LawnFawnatics Challenge and it's (almost) made using dies. The reason is that the theme for this challenge is "dies only". Luckily sentiment stamps are allowed, otherwise the card would have turned out a lot more boring.

 

 Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück Designpapier aus dem Watercolor Wishes Paper Pad. Ich habe nur ein wenig weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

The background is made using a sheet from the Watercolor Wishes paper pad and only splattered some white acrylic paint onto it.

 

 Aus dem Designpapier habe ich dann mit der TaDa Diorama Scalloped Window AddOn Stanze ein Fenster ausgestanzt. Durch den nach innen gewellten Rand und die gestitchte Linie wirkt es toll, genau so wie es ist. Hinter das so entstandene Fenster habe ich dann orangefarbenes Designpapier aus dem Into the Woods Paper Pad geklebt.

Das Fenster war dann der Hintergrund für meinen Text, der gleichzeitig das Hauptelement auf der Karte ist. Gemacht ist er mit der Giant You Did It Stanze. Die oberste Lage habe ich aus schwarzem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt und leicht versetzt mit zwei weiteren Lagen aus schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt. 

Aus dem Rahmen und durch das D von DID saust ein Komet - der Stern bildet den Punkt auf dem I. Für den Stern habe ich die Shooting Star Stanze benutzt - die drei Bögen der Schweife sind  aus weißem und cremefarbenen Designpapieren aus den Paper Pads Let It Shine, Spiffy Speckles und Spiffier Speckles gemacht. Der Stern ist aus bronzefarbenem Spiegelcardstock.

Oben rechts habe ich ein kleines Partybanner aufgehängt, das ebenfalls aus dem TaDa Diorama Set ist und aus den gleichen Papieren wie der Schweif des Kometen gemacht ist.

 

I cut a window into the patterned paper using the TaDa Diorama Scalloped Window AddOn die. It adds some interest just with the scalloped edges and stitched lines. Behind the window I put a piece of orange patterned paper from Into the Woods.

The window was the background for the text, that's also the main element on my card. I made it using the Giant You Did It die. The top layer is cut from black glitter cardstock, then I put two layers cut from black cardstock behind it, offsetting it a bit. 

Out of the frame and right through the D of DID goes a shooting star - the star itself makes the tittle on the I. I used the Shooting Star die here, the "tail" I cut from white and cream colored patterned papers from Let it Shine, Spiffy Speckles and Spiffier Speckles. The star I cut from bronze mirror cardstock.

Across the top right corner of the frame I've hung up a party banner, that's made using another die from the TaDa Diorama set and the same papers that I used for the star's tail.  

Quer über die Karte habe ich dann einige Sterne geklebt, die ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic Cardstock gemacht habe. Dafür kamen Stanzen aus Let's Celebrate  Backdrop und TaDa Diorama Scalloped Window AddOn. Zwei kleinere Sterne habe ich auch als I-Punkt sowie Punkt unter dem Ausrufzeichen benutzt.

 

I added some stars that I cut from matte silver metallic cardstock across the card. I cut those using dies from Let's Celebrate Backdrop and TaDa Diorama Scalloped Window AddOn. I used two smaller stars as tittle on the other I and under the exclamation point.

 

 Wie schon erwähnt, sind Textstempel erlaubt. Ich habe hier ein größeres Congratulations auf ein Banner gestempelt und unter dem Fenster aufgeklebt. Außerdem habe ich einige kleinere Texte verwendet und auf der Karte verteilt. Alle Texte sind weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und alle aus dem Set Simply Celebrate Graduation.

 

As I said already it is allowed to add some stamped text. I stamped a larger Congratulations onto a banner and adhered it under the window. I also used a few smaller texts and scattered them over the card. All of them are white heat embossed onto black cardstock and from Simply Celebrate Graduation.

 

 Das Designpapier mit dem ausgestanzten Fenster habe ich mit dickem 3D Tape auf das orangefarbene Papier geklebt. Und auch bei der Deko kam 3D Tape zum Einsatz: es befindet sich sowohl hinter en Texten als auch den Sternen auf dem großen gestanzten Text.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the patterned paper with the cut out window with thick foam tape onto the orange paper. And I also used it for the decorations: there's some behind the texts and the stars, that I glued on top of die cut text.

I matted the card panel black and adhered it to a white note card.

 

conGRADulations

Momentan machen einige Freundinnen meiner Töchter ihren Bachelor - und für sie ist diese Karte  entstanden. Ich habe gleich mehrere davon gemacht... ;)

Hello everyone! 

At the moment some of my girls' friends are graduating from University - and I made this card for them. I just made  several of the same design... ;)

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus hell-türkis farbenem Cardstock. Die Ränder habe ich mit ein wenig Distress Ink Salvaged Patina und Peacock Feathers ein wenig abgedunkelt.

Darauf habe ich dann mit matt-goldener Folie und der Sonnenstrahlen-Hotfoil-Plate von Carlijn Design die Strahlen auffoliert. Man sieht die Nahtstelle ein wenig - ich habe erst den oberen Teil foliert und die Strahlen dann passend nochmal auf den unteren Teil foliert, so dass sie scheinbar von der Mitte des Cardstocks ausgehen.

Nun, das Folieren wollte irgendwie nicht so recht klappen. Ich weiß nicht, ob es am Cardstock, an der Folie oder der Hotfoil Plate lag. Es war das erste Mal, dass ich eine Hotfoil Plate dieser Marke probiert habe, und auch speziell diese Folie von Spellbinder's hatte ich noch nie benutzt.  Auf jeden Fall habe ich keine deckende Folierung hinbekommen. Auf der  anderen Seite finde ich den unterbrochenen Look gar nicht so schlecht, so ziehen die Strahlen nicht alle Aufmerksamkeit auf sich sondern befinden sich eher dezent im Hintergrund.

Anschließend habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

The background I made from light aqua cardstock. The edges I inked lightly with Distress Ink Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers.

Then I hotfoiled  the sunrays onto the cardstock using matte gold foil and the sunray hotfoil plate by Carlijn Design. You can see the seem a bit - I first foiled  the upper half of the cardstock and then did the lower part so the rays seem to come from the center of the cardstock.

Well, the hotfoiling didn't work as planned. I have no idea if it was the carstock, the foil or the hotfoil plate. It's been my first time using a hotfoil plate from this brand and also this foil by Spellbinder's I hadn't tried yet. I simply couldn't get a solid foiling. On the other hand I kind of like the look of these rays. Foiled on imperfectly they don't take all the  attention and are more kind of  subtly in the background. 

Then I added splatters of white acrylic paint.

In der Mitte der Karte  befindet sich dann meine Dekoration.4

Ich habe zuerst drei größere Sterne, gestanzt aus goldenem Spiegel-Cardstock, aufgeklebt. Die bilden den Hintergrund für das Wort conGRADulations. 

Die Buchstaben für das den Wortteil GRAD habe ich mit dem Wedding Alphabet von XCut aus schwarzem und hell-koralle farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebt. Die restlichen Buchstaben habe ich mit einem Stanzenset von MFT aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt.

Auf das G habe ich dann eine Graduation Cap gesetzt. Der ist aus dem Set Happy Headlines von Concord and 9th. Die Quaste habe ich aus dunkel-türkisfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt, den Hut aus weißem Cardstock, den ich mit Copics coloriert habe.

Auf ein kleines Banner aus schwarzem Cardstock habe ich mit weißem Embossingpulver ein "you did it" aus dem Itty Bitty Celebrations Set von MFT aufembosst.

Darunter war dann noch Platz für das Abschluss-Diplom. Das ist aus einem Stempelset von StudioG und mit Copics coloriert. Eigentlich wird ein Band mit Schleife um das Diplom gestempelt, die habe ich aber abgeschnitten und durch ein Stück türkisfarbenes Twine ersetzt. Da die Enden der aufgestempelten Schleife von der Twine-Schleife nicht komplett überdeckt werden, habe ich sie einfach passend auf dem Diplom festgeklebt.

Als Deko habe ich dann noch weitere Sternchen und einige Luftschlangen aus dunkel-koralle farbenem Cardstock aufgeklebt.

I started  with three larger stars, cut from gold mirror cardstock. Those are the backdrop for the word conGRADulations.

The letters for the "grad" I die cut with the Wedding Alphabet by XCut from black and light coralle cardstock and stacked them a bit offset. The other letteres I die cut from black cardstock using a die set by MFT. 

I put a graduation cap onto the G. It's from Happy Headlines by Concord and 9th. The tassel I die cut from dark aqua cardstock, the cap from white cardstock, then colored it with Copics.

Onto a small banner, made from black cardstock, I white heat embossed a small "you did it" from Itty Bitty Celebrations by MFT.

Und it there was room for a diploma. It's from a stamp set by StudioG and colored  with Copics. There's usually a ribbon around the diploma, and a bow on top. I simply cut that off and replaced it with a bow from turquoise twine. Since the ends of the twine didn't cover the ends of the stamped bow perfectly I simply glued the ends down in the right postion.

As decoration I added more small stars and some streamers, cut from dark coralle cardstock.

Die Buchstaben für das GRAD und das Diplom habe ich mit dünnem, die Graduation Cap mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I put thin foam tape behind the GRAD and the diploma, the graduation cap I backed with thick foam tape. Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Eine Graduation-Card

Ich wurde gebeten, eine Graduation Card zu machen. Inzwischen ist sie beim Empfänger angekommen und ich kann sie Euch hier zeigen.

Da es etwas schneller gehen musste - und weil sie für einen Jungen war - ist sie eher einfach ausgefallen, kam aber sehr gut an.

I was asked to make a graduation card. It has arrived at the recipient and so I can share it with you all here.

Since this was on quite short notice - and since it's made for a boy - it turned out more simple but was appreciated non the less.

Ich habe mal eine längliche Karte gemacht, hauptsächlich, dass neben dem Teil mit den Zahlen noch etwas Platz rechts und links für Deko war. Dort habe ich einfach einen Streifen Designpapier sowie zwei goldene Sterne aufgeklebt. Den Rand um die Karte habe ich per Hand gemacht, der Text ist von SU (wie irgendwie fast alles auf der Karte, aber die Sachen wollen ja auch mal verwendet werden).

I made a longer card - mostly to have some room beside the panel with the numbers. So I simply added a strip of designer's paper to the card and added two golden stars. The border around the card has been hand drawn, saying by SU (like most things on this card but these want to get used every once in a while, too, right?).

Auf den kleineren, rot gematteten Cardstock mit den Zahlen, die ich mit den SU-Stanzen aus goldenem Cardstock gestanzt habe, habe ich im Hintergrund einen der Wasserfarbenhintergründe von Marianne Design aufgestempelt. Wie gut, dass es die gibt, denn ich selbst bringe solche Hintergründe einfach nicht hin!

Den Hut habe ich mit der Cameo gemacht, daran kam ein Bommel aus goldenem Faden. Mit dem habe ich auch das eingerollte Diplom rechts unten zugebunden.

Onto the smaller, red matted cardstock with the number, that were made using the dies by SU and golden cardstock, I stamped one of the watercolor backgrounds by Marianne Design. I am so happy to have these - I just can't get those backgrounds turn out nice when I try to make them by myself!

The hat was cut using the Cameo and I've added a hassel from golden twine. This was also used to tie up the rolled diploma in the bottom right corner.
