Eine Weihnachtskarte

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Like every 21st of the month I am posting over at the Vildastamps Blog toay. It's really time to keep making those christmas cards and so I made - surprise - a christmas card.

Since I am mailing cards all around the world I had planned to make a more CAS one so nothing can get squished on the long way. But well, that didn't turn out as planned... ;)
The white frame on top of the card is added using dimensional tape, so is the saying. Since I didn't have much room for a saying I only stamped part of a stamp with the text (merry christmas in german), trees and a frame. Then I've cut it to a banner and added a star from silver glitter cardstock under the banner.

And in the top right corner I added the decorations that I just can't live without. It's  a pine branch made from a strip of cardstock that was first cut into in regular spaces and then it was twisted. There is an ornament hanging down from the branch and I also added some white structure paste as snow.

And this is the scene I place within the frame. First I cut a piece of copy paper in a wavy shape - just free handed with my scissors - and used it as a stencil to create the sky and snowy hills using Distress Ink. Then I stamped the tree from the Fantasy 3 stamp set onto the card using a very dark green. I used the "stencil" again here to be able to stamp only the upper part of the tree and make it look like a smaller one.
The little fairy is from the Fantasy 1 stamp set. I didn't stamp the stars in her hand and replaced them with a small snowflake. I covered the black ink with a white gelly marker first and then put Stickles all over them. The glue reacted with the green ink I used for the tree but here it only adds to the transparent look I wanted for the wings. Originally I had planned to cover parts of the trees with white structure paste or white gelly marker. I tested that on a piece of scrap paper first which was a good idea because the green ink also stained the white - and no one likes green snow... :)
In the end I added white dots to the sky using a white gelly marker. Strangely, the blue didn't stain the white.
