Juli-FB-Challenge bei Stampcorner

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
There's a  new challenge in Stampcorner's FB group. This time we've picked the theme of "celebrations". And you can make anything that comes to your mind.

I really don't know what drove me to make a christmas card! Well, actually I do but that's a different story. I always have a hard time making cards out of season. Christmas at 30° C? That's far away for me now. And still I've picked it - but my christmas card has a really tropical touch.

Here I've inked up some white cardstock with Distress Oxide Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot to create a night sky and then added some stars by spritzing white acrylic paint onto the sky using a paint brush. There's also the star of Bethlehem shining bright up in the sky, die cut from silver glitter cardstock.
Using one of the Ocean Waves dies by MFT I've die cut the ocean from dark blue cardstock and added some sea foam to the wave peaks with a white gel marker. For the sand I've inked up some white cardstock with Distress Oxide Scattered Straw and Gathered Twigs, spritzing some brown dots with Distress Ink Walnut Stain onto it.
At the left and right sides I've added a palm tree, but with the Tropical Backdrop die by LawnFawn. Between the palms I've hung up a string of light, cut with the Mini String of Lights die, also by LawnFawn.
Into the sand I've cut some slits with the Sandy Beach dies by LawnFawn. I've put the images through those slits to make them look like they are stuck into the sand.
Of course my card needed a festive saying. It's white heat embossed onto a strip of black cardstock and glued across the card close to the bottom edge.

As the image I went with one of those amazing christmas-flamingos from the Festive Flamingos stamp set by MFT. By the way, the sayin is from the same stamp set. This flamingo is also what gave me the idea for this card. It's colored in with Copics, cut out and put into one of the slids - and of course there's one I've die cut upside down. ;) Now he's stuck his feet into the sand.
And since christmas wouldn't be right without presents. So I've stamped the pile of gifts from the Snow Globe Bitties stamp set by Mama Elephant, cut it out and stuck it behind another pile of sand.
