Auf dem MFT Blog ist wieder "Summer School". Jeden Tag gibt es ein neues Video mit einem Basis-Thema rund ums Kartenmachen. Super für Bastelanfänger geeignet, aber auch mir als "altem Hasen" macht es Spaß, dazu eine Karte zu machen. Die fallen dann eher einfach aus, aber manchmal ist das genau das, was man braucht.
Im heutigen Post habe ich die Karte von den ersten drei Tagen zusammengefasst.

It's "summer school" over at the MFT Blog again. Every day there's a new video about a basic theme of card making. These are amazing for beginners but also I, as an "oldie", enjoy making cards to each of those themes. Those are quite simple but sometimes that's exactly what you need.
In today's post I'm sharing my cards for the days 1 to 3.
An Tag 1 ging es um das "visual triangle", also darum, mit Motiven oder ähnlichem ein - oder auch mehrere - Dreieck(e) zu gestalten, das das Auge über die Karte lenkt. Und das ist meine Umsetzung:
Day 1 is about the "visual triangle". You create a triangle - or even more than one - of images or decorations that leads the eyes over your card. This is my idea for that:
Ich habe das Dreieck aus den Sternen, der Wolke links und dem Hasen im Mond, hinter den ich eine weitere Wolke gestempelt habe, kreiert und das Dreieck im unteren Bereich durch die Spiegelungen wiederholt. Die Motive sind alle aus dem Sky High Friends Stempelset.
Ich habe hier den Nachhimmel mit Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire und Black Soot, die Wasserfläche mit Chipped Sapphire und Blueprint Sketch gestaltet. Zuvor habe ich die Motive auf den Himmel gestempelt und vor dem Wischen maskiert. Nur im oberen Bereich habe ich dann Sterne mit weißer Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.
Im unteren Bereich habe ich einen Text aufgeklebt. Der ist mit goldenem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardtsock embosst und weiß hinterlegt.
I've created a triangle from the two stars, the cloud on the left and the bunny on the moon, behind which I've stamped another cloud, and then repeated the triangle with the reflections on the water. All the images are from the Sky High Friends stamp set.
I've used Distress Oxides Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot for the night sky and Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch for the water. Before creating the sky I've stamped the images and covered them with a mask. Only in the sky area I've added some stars with white acrylic paint.
To the bottom of the card I've added a text. It's golden heat embossed onto a strip of black cardstock and matted white.
Hier seht Ihr meine kleine Szene ein wenig besser.
Die Refektionen im Wasser habe ich frei hand gemacht. Ich habe die Motive mit Polychromos und Prismacolors ganz grob auf das Wasser skizziert. Dann habe ich mit einem farblosen Stift kräftig nach rechts und links drübergewischt, so dass die Motive etwas verwischt werden. Dadurch wirken sie wie Reflektionen, die ja immer etwas verschwommen sind.
Zum Schluss habe ich ein paar gelbe Glitzersteine auf der Karte verteilt.
Here's a close up of my little scene.
The reflections on the water are made free hand. I've very basically drawn the images onto the water using Prismacolors and Polychromos. At the end I've used a colorless pencil and went over the images from left to right, giving quite a lot of pressure. That blends them a bit and now they look like reflections that are always a bit blurry.
In the end I've added a few yellow rhinestones to the card.
Das Thema von Tag 2 war "Regenbogen". Damit ist nicht ausschließlich der offensichtliche Regenbogen an sich gemeint, sondern viel mehr die Farbpalette. Gerade für fröhliche Karten sind Regenbogenfarben super. Und dabei müssen sie nicht immer super leuchtend sein, sondern können auch in sanften Tönen widergegeben werden.
Meine Karte zu diesem Thema:
Theme of day 2 is "rainbow". That doesn't necessarily mean the obvious rainbow itself but also the color scheme. Especially for happy occasions you can't go wrong with rainbow colors. And they don't always have to be bright, you can also use them in more subtle tones.
Here's my card for this theme:
Ihr seht, ich habe mich auch an der Farbpalette orientiert und hinter die ausgestanzten Buchstaben einen Regenbogen aus Glitzercardstock gelegt.
Die Buchstaben habe ich mit dem Impact Alphabet Stanzenset aus einem Stück schwarzen Cardstocks gestanzt. Der ist dann, nach dem Hinterlegen, auf eine weiße Kartenbasis geklebt.
As you can see I went with the color scheme as well and put strips of glitter cardstock behind a panel with cut out letters.
The letters were cut from a square of black cardstock with the Impact Alphabet die set. Then, after putting the rainbow strips behind it, I've glued it onto a white note card.
Ich hatte mich beim Berechnen der Höhe, die meine Streifen haben mussten um die Buchstaben komplett zu füllen, vertan. Also habe ich zwei verschiedene Grün- und zwei Blautöne benutzt.
Außen um die Buchstaben und auch auf den Innenstücken im A und den Ps habe ich mit einem weißen Gelmarker Linien gezogen. Das habe ich auch einmal komplett um den Rand gemacht. Sie Linien sind bewusst nicht mit dem Lineal sondern frei Hand gemalt, da das "Verwackelte" die Optik etwas auflockert.
Unter das Happy habe ich aus dem Stempelset Bitty Birthday Wishes noch ein "birthday to you" weiß aufembosst und auf der Karte ein paar weiße Enamel Accents verteilt.
I've made a mistake when calculating the height of those paper strips needed to cover the letters. So I've simply used two tones of greens and two tones of blues here.
Around the letters and also on the inner pieces of the A and the Ps I've drawn some white lines with a gel marker. I did the same on the outer edges of the black panel. I didn't used a ruler for those lines on purpose because I think the slightly wonky lines break up the pretty linear design.
Under the die cut happy I've white heat embossed a "birthday to you" from the Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set and also added a few white Enamel Accents to the card.
Und nun noch zu Tag 3: Symmetrie. Die Elemente auf einer Karte an einer - oder mehrerer - unsichtbarer Symmetrieachsen auszurichten ergibt immer ein stimmiges Bild.
Das ist mir dazu eingefallen:
And now on to day 3: symmetry. Placing your elements mirrored across an imaginary line that divides your project into even segments helps a lot to get a great card design.
That's what my mind came up with:
Ich habe hier Stanzteile auf einem Stück weißen Cardstock angeordnet, den weißen Cardstock schwarz gemattet und dann auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
Here I've glued die cuts onto a piece of white cardstock, matted that black and glued it onto a white note card.
Hauptelement auf der Karte ist das Softeis, das ich mit der Ice Cream Cone Stanze gemacht habe. Die Waffel habe ich mit Distress Ink ein wenig gebräunt, das Eis an sich ist aus hellrosafarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. Auf dem Eis habe ich ein kleines rotes Herz platziert.
Quer über die Eiswaffel verläuft der Text. Dafür habe ich das "sweet" aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und auf die Waffel geklebt. Dahinter kam ein Streifen schwarzen Cardstocks, auf den ich den Rest des Textes aus dem Stempelset Sweet Sentiments weiß aufembosst habe. Dabei habe ich ihn geteilt und so weit auseinander gestempelt, dass das gestanzte sweet dazwischen passte.
Aus hellrosa und weiß kariertem Papier, das aus dem Block Petit Gingham stammt, habe ich eines der Elegant Rectangle Stax ausgestanzt und die rosafarbene Mattung per Hand geschnitten, darauf habe ich dann das Eis mit dem Text aufgeklebt und darum herum ein paar klare Glitzersteine verteilt.
Main element on this card is this ice cream cone, made with the die with just that name. I've used Distress Ink to add some darker brown color to the cone, the ice cream is die cut from light pink cardstock and shaded with Copics. On top of the ice cream I've glued a small red heart.
Across the cone I've added a saying. I've die cut the word sweet from red cardstock and glued it on top of the cone. Behind it I've glued a strip of black cardstock onto which I've white heat embossed the rest of the text, using a stamp from the Sweet Sentiments stamp set. When stamping it I've separated it so the die cut "sweet" would fit in between the words.
From light pink and white checked designer's paper from the Petit Gingham paper pad I've die cut one of the Elegant Rectangle Stax and cut the light pink matting by hand. Then I've glued the ice cream and text on top of it and added a few clear rhinestones.
