Hallo Ihr Lieben!
Eis und Sommer, das gehört einfach zusammen. Inzwischen mag ich ja am liebsten Frozen Joghurt oder auch Mango-Sorbet. Aber als Kind gab es nichts besseres als das Softeis, das es an einem kleinen Stand am Marienplatz gab. Wenn wir mit unseren Eltern in die Stadt gingen (mußten), dann war das immer das Highlight, das den damals noch unliebsamen Stadtbummel erträglich machte. Es gab Schoko, Vanille und Erdbeer oder sogar zwei Geschmäcker in einem Eis. Und das absolute I-Tüpfelchen war, wenn es auch noch in flüssige Schokolade getunkt wurde (den Namen, unter dem das verkauft wurde, darf man heute wohl aus rassistischen Gründen nicht mehr nennen). Und so habe ich diesem Eis diese Karte gewidmet, die ich heute auf dem Stamping-Fairies Blog zeige.

It wouldn't be summer without ice cream. Well, as an adult I prefer frozen yoghurt or mango sherbet. But as a kid there wasn't a better thing than soft ice that was sold at a booth on Marienplatz in Munich where I grew up. Wenn we (had to) go into town with our parents one of those has been the highlight of the day that made the - back then - behartred shopping worth a trip. There was chocolat, vanilla and strawberry and even two flavors in one cone. And the absolut cherry on top was the melted chocolat the ice got dipped in (I guess I can't write down what that version was called since it would be called rasistical these days). So I've dedicated this card, that I'm sharing over at the Stamping-Faires Blog today, to these special treats.
Zuerst war ich versucht, die Vanille- und Schokoeis mit pink zu kombinieren, aber dann fiel mir türkis/grün in die Hand, und das gefiel mir gleich noch viel besser dazu.
Ich habe hier ein Stück weißen Cardstock dekoriert, hellgrün gemattet und auf eine weiße Kartenbasis geklebt.
First I had a soft pink in mind to go with the ice cream cones but then I tumbled across a sheet of turquoise/green paper and I liked that color combination even better.
I've decorated a piece of white cardstock here, matted it with light green cardstock and glued both layers onto a white note card.
Im Hintergrund habe ich die Show me your Stripes Stencil von MFT verwendet und mit Distress Oxide Speckled Egg und Cracked Pistacchio gewischt. Die Schablone endet vom Muster her an der Raute, ich habe sie daher um 180° gedreht und auch im untere Bereich "Pfeile" aufgewischt. Außerdem habe ich den weißen Streifen in der Raute einfach übertönt, denn den hat man genau zwischen den beiden Eistüten durchgesehen.
Die Eistüten sind mit der Ice Cream Cone Stanze gemacht. Das Eis an sich habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Ich weiß, eigentlich war das Softeis immer komplett in die Schokolade getunkt, aber dann hätte man das leckere Schoko- und Vanilleeis nicht gesehen. Als ist bei mir nur die Spitze mit Schokolade überzogen.
Die Waffeln habe ich aus hellbraunem Cardstock gestanzt und die eingeprägten Linien als Richtlinie genommen um auch sie mit Copics zu colorieren.
Rund um die Eis habe ich ein paar Nuvo Drops als Deko verteilt.
In the background I've used the Show me your Strips stencil by MFT and Distress Oxide Speckled Egg and Cracked Pistacchio. The stencil ends with the diamond shaped pattern so I've turned it 180° and added some "arrows" under the diamond as well. I've also covered the strip through the diamond with Distress Oxide since the white was showing exactly between the ice cream cones.
Those are made with the Ice Cream Cone die set by MFT. The ice cream has been cut from white cardstock, then I've colored it with Copics. I know, these soft ice cones were usually dipped into chocolat completly but then you wouldn't have been able to see the yummy chocolat and vanilla ice cream. So mine are dipped into chocolat only at the top.
The cones were die cut from light brown cardstock, then I've used the embossed lines as guidelines to color those with Copics as well.
Around the ice cream cones I've added a few Nuvo Drops for decoration.
Natürlich durfte ein Text nicht fehlen. Zuerst hatte ich überlegt, hier irgendetwas mit "sweet" zu benutzen. Aber dann fiel mir das Stempelset You make my Heart melt von MFT in die Hände - und da war doch tatsächlich ein "have an ice day" Text enthalten. Also habe ich den mit weißem Embossingpulver auf dunkelbraunen Cardstock embosst, auseinander geschnitten und das ice durch eines aus gestanzten Buchstaben ersetzt. Die Buchstaben selbst sind wieder aus hellgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und mit dem dunkelbraunen Cardstock hinterlegt. Die Mattung habe ich per Hand geschnitten.
Of course my card needed a text. First I had planned to add something with the word "sweet". But then I came across the You make my Heart melt stamp set by MFT - and there's a "have an ice day" saying included it that. So I've white heat embossed the text onto a strip of dark brown cardstock, cut it apart and replaced the word ice with a die cut one. I've die cut individual letters, cut from light green cardstock, and matted them with the dark brown cardstock, fuzzy cutting the matting here.
