Es ist der letzte Samstag im Juni - und das bedeutet, dass wir beim Stempeleinnmaleins wieder einen Sketch für Euch haben. Und das ist meine Karte danach.

It's the last saturaday of june - and so we have a new sketch for you over at Stempeleinmaleins. And this is the card I made following it.
Mir war hier nicht nach der klassischen Designpapier mit Aufleger Karte, also habe ich überlegt, wie ich den Sketch anders interpretieren könnte. Von LawnFawn gibt es ja inzwischen ein neues Release, dabei habe ich das vorherige noch nicht mal so richtig eingeweiht. Also habe ich mir das Happy Hugs Stempelset gegriffen und dannn kam eins zum anderen, bis diese Karte entstanden war.
Ich habe hier einen Hintergrund mit Distress Oxides Tattered Rose, Shaded Lilac und Tumbled Glass auf weißen Cardstock gewischt. Dann habe ich eine der Strahlenstencils von MFT aufgelegt und Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmelade und Picked Raspberry als Sonnenstrahlen über den Himmel gewischt. Dann habe ich noch weiße Acrylfarbe darübergespritzt.
Mit der Hügelstanze aus dem Stanzenset Mushroom Border von LawnFawn habe ich den Hügel im Hintergrund aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, der Baum ist aus dem Leafy Tree Backdrop Portrait Hintergrund ausgeschnitten. Den habe ich aus dunkelbraunem Cardstock gestanzt und links mit Distress Oxide Black Soot verdunkelt. Für das Laub habe ich die Wolken-Stanzen aus dem Volcano Set von MFT benutzt, die zufällig auf derselben Magnetplatte wie die Mushroom Border Stanzen war. Ich habe sie aus grau-grünem Cardstock gestanzt und wieder mit Black Soot ein wenig abgedunkelt.
Der Text ist aus zwei Stempeln aus den Stempelsets Jump for Joy und Forest Feast zusammengesetzt und weiß aufembosst.
I didn't feel like making the usual patterend paper with a topper type of card so I thought about how I could use the sketch instead. Well, there is a new release by LawnFawn but I haven't used all the sets from the last one yet. So I picked the Happy Hugs stamp set and then one thing came to the other until I ended up with this card.
Here I inked up a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass. Then I used one of the ray stencils by MFT and Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmelade and Picked Raspberry to add the rays and also spritzed some white acrylic paint over the background.
I used the hill die from the Mushrrom Border die set by LawnFawn to die cut the hill in the background from black cardstock, the tree is cut from a die made with the Leafy Tree Backdrop Portrait die. I've die cut it from dark brown cardstock and inked up the left and top edges with Distress Oxide Black Soot to darken the tree a bit more. For the leaves I used the cloud dies from the Volcana die set by MFT, that just happened to be on the same magnetic sheet as the mushroom border die. I've die cut those from a muted green cardstock and again inked up some edges with Black Soot.
The text is put together with two stamps from the sets Jump for Joy and Forest Feast. I white heat embossed it onto the card.
Vor den Hügel habe ich einen Baumstumpf geklebt. Der ist aus dem Lift the Flap Meadow Stanzenset von LawnFawn. Da mir der Baumstumpf zu hoch war, habe ich oben einfach einStück weggeschnitten und dann den Aufleger für die "Schnittfläche" daraufgeklebt. Der Baumstumpf ist aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt und wieder mit Black Soot schattiert.
Auf dem Baumstumpf sitzen die kuschelnden Eichhörnchen aus dem Happy Hugs Stempelset. Ich weiß, Eichhörnchen haben nicht wirklich einen weißen Streifen am Rücken, aber ich hatte Angst, dass sie sonst zu dunkel werden würden. Meins sind eben Stink-Eichhörnchen... ;) Coloriert habe ich mit Copics.
Über den Eichhörnchen habe ich zwei kleine Herzen aus goldenem Spiegelcardstock aufgeklebt.
Vor den Baumstumpf kam dann noch eine Lage Gras, die ich wieder aus dem grünem Cardstock mit einer der Grassy Hills Edges von MFT gestanzt und ebenfalls mit Black Soot abgedunkelt habe.
So, und dann musste ich das Oval im Sketch irgendwie umsetzen... Ich hatte überlegt, einen dünnen ovalen Rahmen um das Motiv zu kleben, mich dann aber dagegen entschieden. Stattdessen habe ich todesmutig eine Ovalstanze auf die fertige Szene gelegt und den Bereich mit den Eichhörnchen daraus ausgestanzt. Ich gebe zu, es hat Überwindung gekostet. Dann habe ich über den kompletten Hintergrund Vellum gelegt. Oben und unten habe ich es nach hinten umgeknickt, so dass ich es auf der Rückseite des Hintergrundes ankleben konnte. Das ausgestanzte Oval mit den Eichhörnchen habe ich dann weiß gemattet und wieder zurück an seinen Platz geklebt. So habe ich eine komplette Szene auf der Karte, der Bereich im Oval ist aber viel prominenter, da die Farben viel leuchtender sind.
Zum Schluss habe ich alles schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. Und ich muss sagen, mir gefällt die Karte richtig gut!
In front of the hill I've glued a tree stump. It's from the Lift the Flap Meadow die set by LawnFawn. Since it was too tall for my card I've simply cut off some of the top and then glued the small lighter piece on top. I've die cut the tree stump from brown cardstock and again shaded it some with Black Soot.
On top of the tree stump are sitting those two hugging squirrels from the Happy Hugs stamp set. I know, squirrels don't have a white stripe on their backs but I was afraid they would turn out too dark just colored in the dark brwon I wanted to use. So well, I guess these are skunk-squirrels. ;) I colored them with Copics.
Above the two squirrels I've glued down two small hearts, die cut from golden mirror cardstock.
In front of the tree stump I added a layer of grass, again cut from the muted green cardstock and darkened with Black Soot.
Well, and now I had to include the oval drawn in the sketch... I thought about putting a thin oval frame around the image but then went againt ist. I really took all my strength together, choose an oval die and die cut the area with the squirrels from the finished card. It really was hard to do! Then I took a strip of vellum cut the width of my background and put it all over it, folding the top and bottom and glueing it to the back of the background. I've matted the cut out oval with white cardstock and then glued it back in place on top of the vellum. Now I have one complete scene but the oval is still the focus point since the colors are so much more vibrant.
In the end I matted the background with black cardstock and glued it onto a white note card. And I have to say, I'm really glad I dared to cut into the scene since I really like how this card turned out.
