Today I brought some visitor from space. But don't worry, he's a friendly one!
Ich wollte unbedingt das Glow in the Dark Embossingpulver von Nuvo ausprobieren. Und da mir noch nicht wirklich nach Halloween ist - wofür das Puler bestimmt gigantisch ist - kam mir die Idee mit diesem Alien und Raumschiff. Ich musste improvisieren, aber dazu später mehr.
I wanted to try the Glow in the Dark Embossing Powder by Nuvo. And since I don't feel like doing any Halloween crafts yet - I think this powder will be awesome on those type of projects - I got the idea of this alien and spaceship. I had to think outside the box here but will tell you more about it later.
Das Pulver leuchtet wirklich super hell! Ich habe hier zwei Schichten aufgetragen. Dann habe ich den Text mit Buchstaben aus dem Stempelset Birdie Brown Aphabet and Numbers einzeln aufgestempelt und schwarz embosst. Die Embossingpulver schmelzen ineinander und es ergibt eine ganz glatte Oberfläche. Man darf nur nicht zu lange erhitzen, da sonst die Gefahr besteht, dass man die unteren Schichten überhitzt.
The powder glows extremly light! I've added two layers of it here. Then I used the Birdie Brown Alphabet and Numbers stamp set and stamped the saying with single letters before heat embossing it with black embossing powder. The powders melt into each other and you get a really smooth surface. Just make sure you don't heat it too long or you'll overheat the first layers.
Den Hintergrund habe ich mit Distress Oxide in Black Soot und Blueprint Sketch gewischt, den Bereich für den Lichtstrahl habe ich dabei abgedeckt. Ein paar Wassertropfen lockern die Fläche auf und mit einem weißen Gelmarker habe ich ein paar Sterne dazugemalt.
For the background I've used Distress Oxide Black Soot and Blueprint Sketch, covering the area where I wanted the light beam to be. I've added a few water drops to get the oxided effect in a few spots and used a white gelly marker to draw a few stars.
Hier ist mein Besucher aus dem All. Eigentlich ist es eines der süßen Monster aus dem Monsters Set von Avery Elle. Er ist mit Copics coloriert.
Da ich auch keine Raumschiff-Stanze habe, musste ich mir hier wie schon erwähnt anders behelfen. Ich habe zwei unterschiedlich große der Oval Shadows von MFT aus silbernem Cardstock ausgestanzt. In das größere habe ich einen Schlitz geschnitten, in den ich ein halbes Oval, gestanzt aus Vellum, gesteckt habe. Dahinter kam das süße Monster - sorry, der Alien. Mit einem weißen Gelmarker habe ich wieder ein paar Highlights und die Antenne auf der Kuppe hinzugefügt.
And here is my visitor from space. Actually he's one of the monsters from the Monsters set by Avery Elle. He's been colored in with Copics.
Since I don't have a spaceship die I had to come up with something different and do some thinking outside the box. I've die cut two different sizes of the Oval Shadows by MFT from silver cardstock. Then I've cut a slit into the larger one and put half an die cut oval, cut from Vellum, into it. Behind this I've put the cute monster - sorry, alien. Using a white gelly marker I've added a few highlights and the antenna.
Und dann habe ich noch versucht, das Leuchten für Euch einzufangen. Mit mäßigem Erfolg. Aber das ist gar nicht einfach - ist zu wenig Umgebungslicht, kann die Kamera nicht auf die Karte scharfstellen. Bei zu viel erkennt man das Leuchten gar nicht mehr. Das hier war das beste Bild, das ich hinbekommen habe.
And then I've tried to catch the glow with my camera. With only a bit of success. But it's really not that easy - if the room is too dark the camera can't focus on the card. If there's too much light you can't see the glow anymore. This is the best result I was able to get.
So, ich steige jetzt mal zu meinem Freund ins Raumschiff... Entführt von Aliens! ;)
