Heute darf ich wieder auf dem Stamping-Fairies Blog posten. Entstanden ist dafür diese Weihnachtskarte mit dem neuen Festive Friends Stempelset von MFT. Die Idee zu der Karte kam mir sofort, als ich das Set das erste Mal gesehen habe.

It's my turn again to post over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog. I've made this card using the new Festive Friends stamp set by MFT. I immediately had this idea in mind whenI first saw the stamp set.
Für die Karte habe ich das Motiv auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und mit Copics coloriert. Anschließend habe ich den Hintergrund mit Distress Ink Broken China gewischt und mit der Snowfall Horizontal Schablone und Strukturpaste die Schneeflocken aufgewischt.
Für den verschneiten Boden habe ich die Stitched Snow Drift Stanzen verwendet. Der Text ist mit schwarzer Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt, den ich ebenfalls mit Distress Ink Broken China eingefärbt habe.
For this card I've stamped the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copics.
Then I've used Distress Ink Broken China to color the background and added the snowflakes with the Snowfall Horizontal stencil and modelling paste.
For the snowy ground I've die cut two of the Stitched Snow Drifts dies. The saying is stamped with black ink onto white cardstock that I've also colored with Distress Ink Broken China.

Natürlich musste ich es nach dem Colorieren und vor dem Wischen des Hintergrundes abdecken. Dafür habe ich die Körper, Hände und Füße der Motive mit Masking Tape überdeckt. Bei den Lichtern wäre das ein wenig schwer gewesen. Darum habe ich die mit Masking Fluid von Nuvo überdeckt, das man hinterher ganz einfach wieder entfernen kann. Das ist übrigens auch der Grund, warum ich Distress Ink und nicht Oxide für den Hintergrund verwendet habe. Das Geweih und die Arme/Beine der Motive konnte ich selbst mit Masking Fluid nicht wirklich sauber abdecken. Hätte ich mit Oxides gewischt, wären hier die Linien abgeschwächt worden. Bei Inks passiert das nicht.

Of course I had to cover the images after coloring and before doing the background. I've covered the bodies, hands and feet with masking tape. For the lights that would have been too hard to do so I've covered those with Masking Fluid by Nuvo that can easily be removed afterwards. And that's also the reason why I used Distress Ink for the background instead of Oxides. The antlers and arms/legs couldn't be covered exactly, not even with the Masking Fluid. If I used Oxides those stamped lines would have been deluted which doesn happen with the regular inks.
Bis jetzt war die Karte ja eher unspektakulär und von einer wirklichen Idee kann man nicht sprechen. Aber es ist eine LED Karte.
Mir gefiel die Idee, statt der Lichterkette die Nase des Rentiers zu beleuchten. Das passt dann auch super zum Text.
Well, till now the card was pretty unspectacular and you couldn't really talk about a card idea. But it's a LED card.
I liked the idea of lighting up the reindeers nose instead of the string of lights. And that goes pretty well with the saying as well.
Ich habe eine rote LED verwendet und rundherum mit ein wenig Abstand 3D Tape geklebt, so dass das Licht nicht so streuen kann.
I've used a red LED light and added a circle of 3D Tape within a small distance around the light so the light doesn't scatter too much and it's mostly the nose that lights up.
