Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 23. November 2019

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
It's getting dark that early that it's nice to have candles lit up everywhere in the room. So today over at Stempeleinmaleins we are sharing an idea for a lantern that can be lit up with a LED tea light.

The lantern is really easy to make and you can run wild with decorations.I used different panorama dies by Charlie und Paulchen to decorate the windows in my lantern.

Each window on  my lantern is decorated differently. Here I've used a donkey and a nativity scene. Each front layer is cut from regular white cardstock, for the layer behind the vellum I've used copy paper since the light shines through it more and so the front layer can be seen as well. I've used dimensionals to glue the inner layers into the lantern - put directly onto the vellum made it shine through too much for my taste.
Since those panorama dies are rounded on the bottom I did some partial die cutting to have enough cardstock left at the bottom for the oval cut outs in my lantern.
Above the nativity scene I've added a star cut from silver glitter cardstock.
Also the sayings on each side of the lantern are different. They are all silver heat embossed onto white cardstock and matted with silver glitter cardstock. Here I've used a Joy to the World saying - it's from the Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set by MFT, as are the rest of the sayings on my lantern.

The next side is decorated with caroling kids and a christmas town. There are also some stars in the sky and I went with a Fa La La La La (typing that is tricky!) saying here.

The third side is decorated with a snowman, houses, more stars and a Season's Greetings text.

And on the last side I've used a tree with a deer, a church, more stars and a Peace on Earth text.

Of course I wanted to decorate the top of my lantern as well. Here you could easily add more cut outs but I went with glued on embellishments. There are two bows from green ribbon, between those I've added some white tulle. There are twigs that I've gave a snowy look by using white Gesso and glass glitter. And there are pinecones and flowers. I've only added the flowers to two sides that are opposite each other since the ends of the ribbons covered the other sides.

Of course I also took pictures of the lit up lantern. And for those of you that want to get a close look here's an individual picture for each side:
