Ich brauchte eine Geburtstagskarte für einen Mann.... hmpf. Aber die neuen Elefanten von Stampcorner kamen mir da gerade recht! Und so zeige ich heute diese Karte auf dem Stampcorner Blog. Und weil auch Männer etwas Besonderes mögen, habe ich seit langem mal wieder eine Wasserfallkarte gemacht.

I needed a birthday card for a man.... urgh. But those new elephant stamps by Stampcorner came to the rescue! And so I'm sharing this card over on the Stampcorner Blog today. And since also men enjoy a special card I made my first waterfall card since a long time.
Basis ist hier ein weißer Kartenrohling, darauf kam ein kleineres Stück schwarzen Cardstocks und darauf wiederum ein kleineres Stück eines der Blätter aus dem Paper Pack 01 von Stampcorner. Ich mag die hellblauen Punkte auf dem dunkelblauen Hintergrund total gerne.
Für die Rahmen, in die die Motive meiner Wasserfallkarte aufgeklebt sind, habe ich den größeren der Photo Frames von Marianne Design verwendet und ihn insgesamt 4 mal aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt. Hinter die Ausstanzung habe ich das grau-weiße Papier mit dem Chevron-Muster aus dem Papier Pack 02 von Stampcorner geklebt und die Rückseite dann noch mit schwarzem Cardstock verdeckt. Die Papiere von Stampcorner sind alle doppelseitig bedruckt. Hier war die Rückseite rot, was bei aufgeklapptem Wasserfall-Mechanismus ein wenig zu krass war in Kombination mit den von mir verwendeten Farben.
I used a white note card as my base here, then glued a slightly smaller piece of black cardstock on top of it. On top of that I glued another, again slightly smaller, piece of paper, cut from one of the papers from the Paper Pad 01 by Stampcorner. I love those light blue dots on the dark blue background.
For the polaroid frames, that I glued my images onto, I used the larger polaroid frame die from the Photo Frames die set by MarianneDesign and die cut it four times from black cardstock. Behind the cut out window I put a piece of patterned paper with a grey and white chevron pattern, then covered the back of my polaroids with black cardstock. All paperes by Stampcorner are double sided - the back of this one was red. So when the waterfall mechanism was opened the red on the back was too much of a contrast to the colors I used on this card.
Im ersten Fenster des Wasserfallmechanismuses ist dieser süße Elefant mit hochgeklapptem Ohr zu sehen. Er sieht für mich so aus, als würde er angestrengt lauschen. Also habe ich ein paar Musiknoten aus dem Stempelset S'More the Merrier von LawnFawn hier hinzugefügt und einen passenden Text am PC geschrieben. Den habe ich schwarz gemattet und oben links ins Fenster geklebt.
Alle Motive auf der Karte sind mit Copics coloriert, für die weißen Highlights habe ich einen Gelpen benutzt. Und ich dachte mir, warum nicht mal lilafarbene Elefanten....
In the first window of the waterfall mechanism I placed this cute elephant with his right ear up. He seems to listen really closely. So I stamped a few music notes from the S'More the Merrier stamp set by LawnFawn onto his right side and created a matching text with my computer. It means "I've heard...". I printed it out, matted it black and glued it in the top left corner of my frame.
I colored all the images on this card with Copics and used a white gel pen to add some highlights. And I decided, to color my elephants purple here because... why not?
Zieht man am Tab untem am Mechanismus, klappt das erste Bild nach oben und gibt den Blick auf das nächste frei.
Für den Tab habe ich übrigens eine der Stanzen aus dem Flippy Flappy Stanzenset von LawnFawn, die eigentlich eine Aussparung in eine Karte stanzt, verkehrt herum verwendet und mit einem weißen Gelpen einen Pfeil aufgemalt.
When you pull the tab at the bottom of the mechanism, the first picture folds up and reveals the second one.
To cut the tab I used a die from the Flippy Flappy die set by LawnFawn. It is created to die cut a notch into a card base, I simply turned it upside down to create a tab with it. I used a white gel pen to add a hand drawn arrow to it.
Der zweite Elefant liest gerade - es muss die aktuelle Tageszeitung sein. Naja, okay, natürlich ist es eigentlich ein Buch, aber mit ein wenig Phantasie.... Über das, was er da liest, scheint er erstaunt zu sein. Ich habe über seinem Kopf die Satzzeichen hinter einem der Texte aus dem Stempelset Echt Jetzt!? aufgestempelt.
Auch hier habe ich den Text wieder am PC geschrieben, schwarz gemattet und in den Rahmen geklebt.
The second elephant is reading - seems like it's today's newspaper. Well, okay, of course it's a book but with just a little phantasie.... He seems to be really surprised about what he's reading. I stamped the exclamation and question mark from one of the texts from another stamp set by Stampcorner over his head.
Again the text here - it means "I've read..." - is again written on my computer, printed out, matted black and glued into the frame.
Der Elefant im dritten Rahmen verrät uns endlich, um was es hier geht und worüber alle so erstaunt sind.
The elephant in the third frame finally tells us what it's all about and what everyone seems to be so surprised about.
Hier habe ich eine der Sprechblasen aus dem Comic Speech Bubbles Stanzenset von WhimsyStamps ausgestanzt und ein tööröö, ebenfalls aus dem Elefanten-Stempelset, hinein gestempelt. Und nur für den Fall, dass nicht alle elefantisch verstehen, liefere ich unten noch die Übersetzung mit.
Den kleinen Text habe ich mit Stempeln aus dem Stempelset Danke verwendet, das kleine Sternchen ist per Hand gemalt.
Here I've die cut one of the speech bubbles from the Comic Speech Bubbles die set by WhimsyStamps and stamped a "tööröö" into it. And just in case not all of you understand elephant-ish, I also included the translation.
The small text means "it's your birthday" and I glued it to the bottom of the polaroid.
Und im letzten Rahmen befinden sich natürlich ein paar Geburtstagsgrüße.
And in the last frame I stamped a birthday greeting.
Hier habe ich den oberen Teil eines der Stempel aus dem Set Geburtstag 2 von Stampcorner verwendet und darunter noch das "von uns" aus dem Set Träume aufgestempelt.
Und weil auf allen anderen Rahmen lila vorkommt, habe ich hier noch ein paar lilafarbene, herzförmige Pailetten aufgeklebt.
This text means "happy birthday from all of us".
And since I used purple on all the other frames I added some small, purple, heart shaped confetti here and glued those around the greeting.
