Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 20. April 2019

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
Alcohol Inks are used everywhere at the moment. So we at Stempeleinmaleins have a few basics for you in today's tutorial. For sure there are so many possibilities but to get an idea about how to use these colors our tutorial for sure is a great start.

Beside one try quite a while ago using my Copic Refills it was a first for me. And since I am a confessed controll freak I really wasn't sure if this technique is for me. The results are never predictable. So before starting I've watched a bunch of videos - and was amazed over what is possible. A few of those techniques are included in this card - and I have to say: if I can control my obsession to have control over everything this is a great thing and I surely will do more of those backgrounds! (And not only because I just bought this huge "starter kit" that wants to be used!).

I've used Yupo with my Alcohol Inks here. The colors used were Botanical, Aqua, Pool and Cloudy Blue by Ranger and I've also used a few drops of 99% Isopropanol. I would have love a slightly lighter background, but that's how it turned out. I think I'll get the trick with more experience.
In one of the videos I saw someone using golden transfer foil on the nearly dry Alcohol Inks. Since I have tons of this at home at well I've decided to give it a try. You have to play around a bit to find out how dry/wet the colors needs to be. If it's too wet, it will transfer to the back of the foil, if it's too dry it won't stick to the ink anymore. But a few golden spots got stuck.
Another technique I've tried here is using the LiftInk stamp pad to stamp the Birthday Background by MFT onto the background. With this you get two things done at once: after carefully dabbing over the stamped image an then rubbing it slightly you can take off the Alcohol Ink/light it up. And since the Alcohol Ink transfers to the stamp you can stamp it onto another sheet of paper and will end up with an image the pattern of your background. I'm sure that looks even more amazing with not so fine lines. But here I've used the re-stamped image as the background of my card.

Here you get a better look at the details - especially the gold foiled spots and the area with the "stamped off" color.
Since the card is pretty busy already and of course the strip with the Alcohol Ink should be the star of the card I've only added a die cut congrats here. It was cut twice - once from golden mirror cardstock and once from white cardstock. Then I've glued them together slightly offset and glued them onto the card.
