Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 01. Oktober 2022

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
In today's issue of Stempeleinmaleins we share the Double Door Pop-Up Card with you - the doors magically open up when you lift the roof. Well, and of course I thought that this type of card was just perfect for a Halloween card!

I wanted the outside of my card to look like a very old building.
I created my card from grey cardstock. Onto the areas to the left and right of the doors I glued some cardstock with a brick pattern. I simply cut the strips from light grey cardstock and added some Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and Black Soot, purposefully not blending the ink. I spritzed some black metallic watercolor over the strips and then stamped the brick pattern over it with some white ink. After I had glued the strips onto the card, added a few vines, hanging down from the top edge of the wall. Again I used Distress Ink Black Soot to give them a bit of a weathered look.
For the roof I used more of the inked up cardstock, spritzing not only black but also green metallic watercolor onto it. Now it looks like some moss grew on the shingles.  I used the shingle die from the Home Sweet Home die set by SU to die cut several rows of shingles, then I covered the whole roof with them.
On the top of the roof I glued a black raven, covered with a thick layer of Glossy Accents.
The doors are covered with a wooden pattern and I also added some kind of frame, also with a wooden pattern. I used a grey ink pad and lightly dragged it over the doors, then I used a background stamp by MFT and white ink to stamp the wooden pattern on top. I did the frame on the door the same, just using some darker grey ink to add some streaks to the cardstock before stamping the wooden pattern on top, again with white ink.
To decorate the doors I added two signs, both made with stamps by SU. I stamped the images with black ink onto green cardstock and then used Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and Black Soot to make them look weathered. The signs are glued down with foam tape.

As mentioned, when you lift the flap that creates the roof, the doors open automatically. I really wish I would have been able to add a squeaky sound effect here!

This is the scene you see once the doors have opened.
I created the inside of the doors exactly like I did on the outside. It wasn't that clever to glue down the card between the doors before decorating it. I really tried to cover them properly but still ended up with some green ink on the doors. Guess that's not too big of a wonder with such a old building.
I also glued down part of the all-known spell from Shakespeare's McBeth. I printed the words individually with my home printer, cut them out and colored the white paper with Distress Ink Peeled Paint, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. So now there's "boil, boil, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble" written on the inside of the doors - and that's what inspired me to create that scene on the inside of my card.

Here's a close-up of the scene. Well, it seems like the whole "with's brew" either went badly wrong or someone has mistaken that sign!
Here in the middle of the building there's included another top folding card. I've made that from black cardstock. Then I used the Through the Clouds stencil by MFT and Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint as well as some white ink to put down the poinsonous green looking clouds onto the black cardstock. Before I had stamped the large spiderweb with white ink onto the top left corner of the card and clear embossed over it. That way it stays way even when adding the green ink over it.
The witch's legs and the cauldron are made with the Everything but the Broom die set by MFT. I've cut all the pieces from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. The legs are longer originally, but those wouldn't have fit onto my card. So I cut them shorter and now you kind of wonder how this witch can fit into the cauldron. Let me tell you, everything's possible when there's magic involved!
Under the cauldron I've put some fire, made with the - older - Fireplace die set by MFT. I also let some green slime, made with another stamp by SU, run down from the cauldron's brim.
The cat and frog from the Witch Way is the Candy stamp set by MFT both look pretty concerned... Again I used Copics to color these.
I added a few green bubbles, rising up from the cauldron. These, the slime on the cauldron and the eyes of the frog and cat are all covered with Glossy Accents.
To the top right corner of my card I added a ooops text, die cut from golden glitter cardstock and shaded with my Copics. Now at least it's obvious, that it wasn't the original plan, that the witch ends up in this cauldron!
In the end I glued a big black spider, made with the Spiders and Bugs die by MarianneDesign, onto the die cut text and in the spiderweb.

As mentioned, the cardstock between the doors is a top folding card. There's room for more decorations and/or a handwritten greeting.

Here I stenciled down a few more clous with Distress Oxide Peeled Paint and white ink, then heat embossed the word wicked from another SU stamp set, in the center of the clouds using golden glitter embossing powder. The smaller texts are from the same stamp set. I white heat embossed these onto black cardstock, inked the edges of the strips with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and glued them above and under the embossed word.
As a last touch I added a few bright green Enamel Dots.
