Happy Bearsday!

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!
I already mentioned that I sometimes pick up dies at a dollar store. Now they had some wooden stamps and I bought three of them. I had them on my table to make sure I'll use them. And the cute party bear made it on today's card.

This card is kind of inspired by a card, Jessica Frost-Ballas shared sometimes back in january using completly different products. But her die cut bear kind of reminded me of the stamped image - also hers was ending at about midway to the belly. So it was kind of clear the image had to be adhered pretty close to the bottom of the card. She had made a Valentine's card with a background die, that cut four rows of Love. There were quite a few dies similar to that and with different words released recently. I really try to cut down my craf shopping because I am running out of room. So I sat down and thought, how I could get a similar look with what I have on hand. All the happy dies I have were to small. But I also have quite a few alphabet die sets. I used the Wedding Alphabet die set by XCut to die cut the word happy three times from a piece of cardstock. Of course that takes a bit longer than using one whole die, because I wanted the word evenly spaced in all directions. And there's also only one P included in the die set, so I had to die cut the second P individually from each word. But I like the look and it was worth the time.
Before I die cut the letters from the cardstock, I inked it up with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistacchio, Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner. Then I flicked some water and some silver and cream metallic watercolor on top.
After I had die cut the words from the cardstock, I put a piece of black glitter cardstock behind it and also glued the inner pieces of the As and Ps back in place.

I stamped the bear with black ink and colored him hin with Copics. Since the image has quite a lot of plain areas that were kind of distrubing me, I used a dark brown marker and added tiny dots to the darkest areas of my image. I also added some highlights with a white gel pen and some details to the hat and present etc using different tones of Glaze pens.
I cut the bear out and adhered him to the background with foam tape. To the top of the party hat I glued a small white pompom. And since I didn't want to/couldn't cut out the spiral, that's drawn on the image instead of a flame, I cut it off and put a little light pink heart to the tip of the wick. This way I was able to pick up the cheek color again.
For the text I had to get creative. I was sure that I have a stamp with this text - well, I was wrong. But by that time I was so fixed on using this text, that I didn't even think of the german "Happy Bärsday" - which means the exact same thing - stamp, that I own. So I combined different parts of stamps from the On the Beach stamp set by LawnFawn to write "bearsday to you", white heat embossing it onto black cardstock. Then I used foam tape again to attach the cardstock strip - partly onto the bear's belly, partly onto the background.

To finish the card, I die cut a party banner from Vellum, using a die by Magnolia, and adhered it over the top row of happys, as confetti I added some silver sequins.
As a last step I attached my decorated cardstock to a white note card.
