Abenteuer im Kopf

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ihr habt es sicher gehört - nach 10 Jahren schließt Stampcorner die Pforten. Leider ein weiterer toller Bastelshop, der die momentane Wirtschaftslage nicht überlebt hat. Ein fixes End-Datum steht noch nicht fest, und solange es den Shop gibt, werde ich weiterhin jeden Donnerstag eine Karte mit ihren Produkten posten. Heute dreht sich bei der alles um Thema Lesen.

After 10 years Stampcorner is going to close down. Sadly another great craft store that didn't survive the economy problems we're facing since quite some time. There's no set end date yet, and as long as the shop will be up I will go on sharing a card with their products each thursday here on my blog. Today it's all about reading. 

Die Freunde-Stempelsets waren tatsächlich die ersten von Stampcorner, die bei mir einziehen durften. Und das Set Freunde 4 kam heute zum Einsatz. Hase und Elephant sind einfach zu süß, wie sie so tief in ihr Buch versunken dasitzen, und Nachschub ist bereits vorhanden.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück dunkelgrauen Cardstocks - ich habe die komplette Karte in Grautönen und Rot gehalten. Da Buchstaben zum Thema Bücher und Lesen natürlich perfekt passen, habe ich auf den grauen Cardstock mit weißer Pigment-Tinte den Typewriter Background von MFT aufgestempelt. Anschließend habe ich noch koralle-rote Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

The Freunde stamp series were actually the first stamp sets by Stampcorner that I ordered. And set #4 is what I used here. I love how bunny and elephant are sitting there, deeply sunken into the story of a good book, and more books are already waiting.

The background is made from a piece of dark grey cardstock - I kept the whole card in greys and reds. Since letters go perfectly with a book or reading theme I stamped the Typewriter Background by  MFT with white pigment ink onto the cardstock. Then I added splatters of some coral red metallic watercolor.

Das Motiv ist mit Copics coloriert. 

Über den beiden Figuren habe ich Gedankenblasen angebracht, in denen wir eine Ahnung von dem Buch erhalten, das die beiden da gerade jeweils lesen. 

Die Gedankenblasen sind mit einer Stanze aus dem Speech Bubbles Set von WhimsyStamps gemacht - jeweils zweimal aus schwarzem und weißem Cardstock. Die linke Gedankenblase habe ich aufs Gesicht gedreht, so dass sie in die andere Richtung zeigt.

In der linken Blase befindet sich eine Unterwasser-Szene. Das U-Boot ist Mr. Nautilus von Gummiapan, die Algen aus dem Set Under the Sea von MFT.

In der rechten Blase geht es ins All - die Rakete ist aus dem Set You Move Me von MFT - das ist locker 15 Jahre alt - und die beiden Planeten sind aus dem Stempelset Little Agenda Spaceship von MamaElephant. 

Ich habe alle Elemente aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt - bzw. darauf gestempelt - und sie dann mit Copics coloriert. Dabei habe ich die selben Farben benutzt, die auch für das Hauptmotiv zum Einsatz kamen.

Above the heads of both critters I placed a thought bubble, in which we are getting a glimpse of the books these two are reading.

The thought bubbles are made using a die from the Speech Bubbles set by WhimsyStamps - I die cut two each from white and black cardstock. The left thought bubble I turned face down so it is mirrored to the one of the right.

In the left thought bubble I placed an underwater scene. The submarine is Mr. Nautilus by Gummiapan, the plants are from Under the Sea by MFT. 

In the right bubble we are taking a trip into space - the spaceship is from You Move Me by MFT - this set might be about 15 years old - and the two planets are from the Little Agenda Spaceship stamp set by MamaElephant.

I cut all pieces from white cardstock - or stamped them onto it - and then colored them with Copics, using the same colors I also used for the main image.

Unter dem Hauptmotiv habe ich dann meinen Text angebracht. Dafür habe ich das "Abenteuer im Kopf" aus Momente mit weißem Embossingpulver auf roten Cardstock embosst und einen Rahmen mit einem weißen Gelstift drumrum gemalt. 

Eigentlich wollte ich noch einen kleinen Text zwischen das A und K stempeln, damit dort nicht so viel freie Fläche ist, konnte aber irgendwie nicht das Richtige finden. 

Under the main image I adhered my sentiment. I white heat embossed an "adventure inside your head" text with white ink onto a strip of red cardstock and drew a frame with a white gel pen.

I wanted to stamp a smaller sentiment between the A and K, but just didn't find the right thing so I skipped that.

Die Gedankenblasen und den Text  habe ich mit dünnem, das Hauptmotiv mit dickem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. 

Als Deko habe ich einige kleine weiße Herzen aufgeklebt. Außerdem habe ich auf den Hintergrund einen Rahmen mit einem schwarzen Fineliner aufgemalt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I added some white clay hearts as decoration and also used a black fineliner to draw a frame onto the background.

Then I attached the card panel to a white note card.

Momentan machen einige Freundinnen meiner Töchter ihren Bachelor - und für sie ist diese Karte  entstanden. Ich habe gleich mehrere davon gemacht... ;)

Hello everyone! 

At the moment some of my girls' friends are graduating from University - and I made this card for them. I just made  several of the same design... ;)

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus hell-türkis farbenem Cardstock. Die Ränder habe ich mit ein wenig Distress Ink Salvaged Patina und Peacock Feathers ein wenig abgedunkelt.

Darauf habe ich dann mit matt-goldener Folie und der Sonnenstrahlen-Hotfoil-Plate von Carlijn Design die Strahlen auffoliert. Man sieht die Nahtstelle ein wenig - ich habe erst den oberen Teil foliert und die Strahlen dann passend nochmal auf den unteren Teil foliert, so dass sie scheinbar von der Mitte des Cardstocks ausgehen.

Nun, das Folieren wollte irgendwie nicht so recht klappen. Ich weiß nicht, ob es am Cardstock, an der Folie oder der Hotfoil Plate lag. Es war das erste Mal, dass ich eine Hotfoil Plate dieser Marke probiert habe, und auch speziell diese Folie von Spellbinder's hatte ich noch nie benutzt.  Auf jeden Fall habe ich keine deckende Folierung hinbekommen. Auf der  anderen Seite finde ich den unterbrochenen Look gar nicht so schlecht, so ziehen die Strahlen nicht alle Aufmerksamkeit auf sich sondern befinden sich eher dezent im Hintergrund.

Anschließend habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Then I hotfoiled  the sunrays onto the cardstock using matte gold foil and the sunray hotfoil plate by Carlijn Design. You can see the seem a bit - I first foiled  the upper half of the cardstock and then did the lower part so the rays seem to come from the center of the cardstock.

Well, the hotfoiling didn't work as planned. I have no idea if it was the carstock, the foil or the hotfoil plate. It's been my first time using a hotfoil plate from this brand and also this foil by Spellbinder's I hadn't tried yet. I simply couldn't get a solid foiling. On the other hand I kind of like the look of these rays. Foiled on imperfectly they don't take all the  attention and are more kind of  subtly in the background. 

Then I added splatters of white acrylic paint.

In der Mitte der Karte  befindet sich dann meine Dekoration.4

Ich habe zuerst drei größere Sterne, gestanzt aus goldenem Spiegel-Cardstock, aufgeklebt. Die bilden den Hintergrund für das Wort conGRADulations. 

Die Buchstaben für das den Wortteil GRAD habe ich mit dem Wedding Alphabet von XCut aus schwarzem und hell-koralle farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebt. Die restlichen Buchstaben habe ich mit einem Stanzenset von MFT aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt.

Auf das G habe ich dann eine Graduation Cap gesetzt. Der ist aus dem Set Happy Headlines von Concord and 9th. Die Quaste habe ich aus dunkel-türkisfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt, den Hut aus weißem Cardstock, den ich mit Copics coloriert habe.

Auf ein kleines Banner aus schwarzem Cardstock habe ich mit weißem Embossingpulver ein "you did it" aus dem Itty Bitty Celebrations Set von MFT aufembosst.

Darunter war dann noch Platz für das Abschluss-Diplom. Das ist aus einem Stempelset von StudioG und mit Copics coloriert. Eigentlich wird ein Band mit Schleife um das Diplom gestempelt, die habe ich aber abgeschnitten und durch ein Stück türkisfarbenes Twine ersetzt. Da die Enden der aufgestempelten Schleife von der Twine-Schleife nicht komplett überdeckt werden, habe ich sie einfach passend auf dem Diplom festgeklebt.

Als Deko habe ich dann noch weitere Sternchen und einige Luftschlangen aus dunkel-koralle farbenem Cardstock aufgeklebt.

I started  with three larger stars, cut from gold mirror cardstock. Those are the backdrop for the word conGRADulations.

The letters for the "grad" I die cut with the Wedding Alphabet by XCut from black and light coralle cardstock and stacked them a bit offset. The other letteres I die cut from black cardstock using a die set by MFT. 

I put a graduation cap onto the G. It's from Happy Headlines by Concord and 9th. The tassel I die cut from dark aqua cardstock, the cap from white cardstock, then colored it with Copics.

Onto a small banner, made from black cardstock, I white heat embossed a small "you did it" from Itty Bitty Celebrations by MFT.

Und it there was room for a diploma. It's from a stamp set by StudioG and colored  with Copics. There's usually a ribbon around the diploma, and a bow on top. I simply cut that off and replaced it with a bow from turquoise twine. Since the ends of the twine didn't cover the ends of the stamped bow perfectly I simply glued the ends down in the right postion.

As decoration I added more small stars and some streamers, cut from dark coralle cardstock.

Die Buchstaben für das GRAD und das Diplom habe ich mit dünnem, die Graduation Cap mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

Here you can see the shine on the card again.

I put thin foam tape behind the GRAD and the diploma, the graduation cap I backed with thick foam tape. Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Sending Loads of Birthday Wishes

Ich stemple schon lange, aber Ihr kennt das sicher: einige Stempelfirmen hatte man einfach nicht auf dem Schirm, andere entsprachen nicht dem eigenen Stil damals. Und so kommt es, dass ich seit längerem eine Liste mit inzwischen in Rente geschickten Stempelsets, vor allem von LawnFawn habe, die ich unbedingt haben möchte. Eigentlich muss ich sagen hatte, denn in den letzten zwei Monaten ist es mir tatsächlich gelungen, die Stempelsets ganz oben auf dieser Liste in Flohmärkten oder auf der Auktionsseite zu ergattern! Darunter das Stempelset You've Got Mail. Es war das letzte auf der Liste, und hier habe ich es zum ersten Mal eingesetzt.

I am stamping since many years, but I'm sure you agree: you simply didn't know about some stamp brands those many years ago and some simply weren't you're style back then. That's why I have a list of stamp sets, that have been retired - especially by LawnFawn - and that I really want to have. And I've had this list for quite some time. But now I have to say: I've had because during the last two months I was able to get the stamps that were on the top of this list - either in de-stash groups or on the online autcion page. You've Got Mail was one of these sets - and it actually was the last one on the list. Here I used it for the very first time.

Den großen Briefkasten in dem Set fand ich einfach klasse - und weil er so schön groß ist, passt auch jede Menge Post hinein. Die muss natürlich herbeigeschafft werden, was hier mal wieder die kleinen Mäuse übernehmen. Und weil ich es komisch fand, den Briefkasten irgendwo in einen Wald zu stellen, sind dies hier kleine Stadtmäuse.

Ich wollte unbedingt eine große Häuserreihe für meinen Hintergrund und hatte überlegt, einfach vertikale Streifen aufzuzeichnen und dann Türen aufzukleben. Aber dann fiel mir der Room with a View and Balcony Stempel von PurpleOnion in die Hände. Der war super von der Größe. Ich habe ihn dreimal nebeneinander auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks abgestempelt und dabei das Dach an die obere Kante des Cardstocks gelegt, so dass es so aussieht, als würden die Häuser nach oben weitergehen.

Ich habe die Häuser mit Copics coloriert und ein wenig mit Distress Ink Hickory Smoke gewischt.

Den Gehsteig habe ich dann einfach aus einem Stück grauen Cardstocks gemacht, den ich mit Black Soot gewischt habe. Anschließend habe ich silberne und schwarze Metallic Watercolor sowie weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. Damit der Streifen auch wie ein Gehsteig aussieht, habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift einige Linien aufgemalt. Und auf diesem Gehsteig habe ich dann meine Motive angeordnet. 

I just love this large mail box from the set - and since it is that large there's lots of room for letters in it. Of course someone has to send out all those letters, and once again it's the mice that took over this job. I thought it strange to put the mailbox in the woods so this time the mice are town mice.

I really wanted a row of largehouses for my background and was about to simply draw vertical stripes and add doors. But then I came across the Room with a View and Balcony stamp by PurpleOnion. It was perfect in size. I stamped it three times onto a piece of white cardstock and put the lower edge of the roof right above the edge of my carsdtock. Now it looks like the houses continue outside the card. I colored the houses with Copics and also inked them lightly with Distress Ink Hickory Smoke.

The sidewalk I made from a strip of grey cardstock, that I inked with Black Soot. Then I added splatters of silver and black metallic watercolor and white acrylic paint. To make it look a bit more like a sidewalk I added lines with a white gel pen. And onto that sidewalk I arranged my images.

Auf der linken Seite der Karte befindet sich der Briefkasten. Auf ihm sitzt eine Maus und überprüft, ob überhaupt noch Platz im Briefkasten ist. Und davor stehen zwei Mäuse mit weiteren Briefen in der Hand, bereit, sie einzuwerfen.

Alle Motive auf der Karte sind mit Copics coloriert. 

Die Mäuse sind aus den Stempelsets Veggie Happy, Bubbles of Joy, Whoosh Kites und Just Plane Awesome. Die Maus aus dem zuletzt erwähnten Set habe ich per Mirrorstamping in die andere Richtung schauen lassen. Eigentlich wollte ich sie woanders einsetzen, aber da hat sie nicht gepasst. Also habe ich sie kurzerhand oben auf den Briefkasten geklebt.

On the let side of the card there's the mail box. A mouse is sittin on top, checking if there's any room left in the mailbox. And in front of it there are two more mice with more letters, ready to put them inside.

All images on the card are colored with Copics.

The mice are from Veggie Happy, Bubbles of Joy, Whoosh Kites and Just Plane Awesome. The mouse from this last set I mirror stamped to make her face the other direction. I originally had planned to use them in a different spot, but she didn't fit there and so I just put her on top of the mailbox.

Auf der rechten Seite der Karte schaffen zwei weitere Mäuse noch mehr Post herbei. Eine hat eine ganze Schubkarre voll davon dabei, eine andere eine prall gefüllte Tasche, die offenbar recht schwer geworden ist.

Die Tasche ist von einem Stempel von Whiff of Joy und eigentlich trägt ein Mädchen sie über der Schulter. Sie war aber ganz einfach für meinen Zweck abwandelbar. 

Die Briefe auf der Karte sind aus den Sets Just Add Glitter, Special Delivery, I Heart Pandas und Gleeful Gardens. Aueßrdem habe ich die Papierblätter aus dem Set Just Add Glitter verwendet, um die Schubkarre aus Veggie Happy damit zu füllen. Zwischenrein habe ich dann zwei kleine Briefe gesteckt.

On the right side of the card two more mice are bringing even more letters. One has filled up a cartwheel with them, another one has packed a bag, that seems pretty heavy.

The bag is from a stamp by Whiff of Joy and oringially it's dangling from a girl's shoulder. But it was pretty easy to make it work for what I had planned.

The letteres on the card are from Just Add Glitter, Special Delivery, I Heart Pandas and Gleeful Gardens. I also used the sheets of paper from Just Add Glitter to fill the cartwheel from Veggie Happy and tucked two small letters between the papers.

Bei so vielen Briefen kann man wirklich von einer "Ladung" sprechen, und genau das habe ich dann für meinen Text benutzt. Der größte Teil ist mit Stempeln aus Sprinkled with Joy und Special Deliver mit schwarzer Tinte auf grauen Cardstock gestempelt. Das Wort "loads" aus dem Set Loads of Fun habe ich mit roter Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt.  Dann habe ich die Texte ausgeschnitten, schwarz gemattet und aufgeklebt.

 

With this many letters you can really talk about loads of letters, and that's what I used as my text. I stamped most of it with black ink onto grey cardstock, using stamps from Sprinkled with Joy and Special Delivery. The word loads I stamped with red ink onto white cardstock using a stamp from Loads of Fun. I cut the texts out, matted them black and adhered them to the card.

Der Hintergrund der Karte ist komplett flach. Nur einige der Motive sowie den Text habe ich mit dünnem oder dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

Als Deko habe ich dann noch ein paar kleine rote Herzen aufgeklebt und dann den Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

The background is completly flat. Behind some of the images and the text I placed thin or thick foam tape.

Kleine Valentins-Geschenke

Vor zwei Tagen war Valentinstag - und somit kann ich Euch die Kleinigkeiten zeigen, die ich für unsere Mädels gemacht habe.

Valentine's was two days ago and so I can share with you now what I made as a little gift for our girls.

 

Ich mag Valentinstag - nicht als der kommerzielle Tag, zu den ihn der Handel macht, oder nur als Tag für Paare. Er erinnert mich vielmehr daran, dass es mal wieder an der Zeit wäre, dem ein oder anderen Menschen in meinem Leben zu sagen, wie wichtig er mir ist.  

Wir haben unseren Kindern schon immer Kleinigkeiten zum Valentinstag gegeben. Und diese Tradition habe ich fortgeführt, auch wenn alle nun ausgezogen sind. Dieses Jahr habe ich ihn diese kleinen Boxen geschickt.

I like Valentine's - not everyone here in Germany does. I don't like it as the kind of second christmas, that businesses do to turn it into, or as a day just for couples. It just reminds me that it's about time to let some people in my life know, how important they are to me.

We have always given our girls a little something for Valentine's. And I keep on with this tradition, even now that they have all moved out. This time I sent them these little boxes.

Schon vor Weihnachten hatte ich diese kleinen Pocket Hugs mit Pinguin gekauft und wollte sie eigentlich in ein Weihnachtsgeschenk integrieren. Aber dann ist mir einfach die Zeit davongerannt und so gibt es sie eben jetzt im Februar.

Already before christmas I bought those little pocket hugs with penguins and had planned to include them in a christmas gift. But then I just ran out of time and that's why they are getting them now in february.

Die Boxen habe ich mit Cutter und Scoring Board aus weißem Cardstock gemacht, um genau die Größe zu erhalten, die ich braucht. In die Front ein rundes Fenster eingestanzt und zwar so, dass der kleine Pinguin daraus herausschaut.

Die Boxen habe ich dann mit hellrosa Tinte und dem Neverending Love Background von MFT bestempelt.

 

I made the boxes from white cardstock with my paper cutter and scoring board to get the measurements I needed. I cut a round window into the front of the box, making sure the little penguin can peek out through it.

I then stamped the Neverending Love Background by MFT with light pink ink onto the boxes.

Oben rechts habe ich ein XOXO-Tag samt Schleife aufgeklebt.

Schleife und Tag sind aus dem Heart Pouch Set von LawnFawn. Der Tag ist aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, die Buchstaben darauf aus rotem und hellrosa farbenem Cardstsock. In eines der Os habe ich ein kleines weißes Herz geklebt.

Die Schleife habe ich dann aus rotem Cardstock gemacht, über einen Bonefolder rund gebogen und auf den Tag geklebt.

Um das Fenster, das ich in die Boxenfront gestanzt habe, habe ich einen Ring aus rotem Cardstock geklebt. Der ist mit einer der Stitched Circle Frames von Create a Smile gemacht.

To the top right I adhered a XOXO tag and a bow.

Bow and tag are from the Heart Pouch die set by LawnFawn. I cut the tag from black cardstock, the letters from red and light pink cardstock. I decorated one of the Os with a white clay heart.

The bow I cut from red cardstock, rounded it with my bonefolder and  glued it on top of the tag.

Around the window, that I had cut into the box front, I put a ring, cut from red cardstock with one of the Stitched Circle Frames by Create a Smile.

Unten auf der Box wurde es dann valentin-ig. Ich habe die Zahl 14 aus schwarzem und rotem Cardstock gestanzt und beides leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebt.

Das Happy Valentine's ist aus dem Set Itty Bitty Love von MFT und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

Drumherum habe ich noch einige rote Herzen gesetzt und außerdem mit einem schwarzen Fineliner einen Rahmen auf die Boxenfront gemalt.

At the bottom of the box the decorations got valentine-y. I die cut the number 14 from black and red cardstock and stacked the numbers a bit offest.

The happy valentine's is from Itty Bitty Love by MFT and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

I added a few red hearts and also used a black fineliner to draw a frame onto the box front.

Und so sah der "Pocket Hug", der sich in der Box befand, dann aus. Ich liebe solche Kleinigkeiten und ich weiß genau, egal wie alt man ist, manchmal braucht man einfach eine Umarmung von Mama oder Papa... Auf die Rückeseite habe ich noch einen persönlichen Text geschrieben.

Der Tag, die 1 und der embosste Text sind mit dünnem, die 4 und die Schleife mit dickem 3D Tape auf die Box geklebt.

And this is what the "pocket hug", that I put inside the boxes, looks like. I love little things like that and I also know, no matter how old you are, there are days when you just need a hug from mom or dad... I wrote a personal note onto the back.

I used thin foam tape to adhere the tag, the number 1 and the embossed text, the bow and number 4 are backed with thick foam tape.

Postage Collage die Dritte

Heute zeige ich Euch die dritte Karte, die ich mit dem Postage Collage Set von WaffleFlower gemacht habe. Diesmal habe ich die Briefmarken nicht auseinander geschnitten, sondern zusammen gelassen.

Today I am sharing with you a third card I made with the Postage Collage sets by WaffleFlower. This time I didn't cut the postage stamps apart but left them connected.

Nun, es ist sicher sofort zu erkennen: ich wäre fertig mit Winter und sehne mich nach Wärme und Sonne! Und der Möwe auf meiner Karte geht es wohl ebenso...

Ich habe hier als Hintergrund ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Ink Tumbled Glass leicht eingefärbt und dann außen herum die Streifen mit Salty Ocean und Walnut Stain sowie den Postage Collage Coloring Stencils aufgewischt.

I guess you can tell from just one look: I am done with winter and really longing for some sun and warmth. Seems like the seagull is with me there...

For the background I lightly inked a piece of white cardstock with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and then added the striped border with Salty Ocean and Walnut Stain and the Postage Collage Coloring stencils.

 

 Die Postage Collage Stanze habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und dann mit den Postage Collage Beach Day Stencils die Szenen auf die einzelnen Briefmarken gewischt. Hierbei kamen Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Wild Honey und Walnut Stain zum Einsatz. Auf den Sand habe ich mit einem braunen Fineliner und einem weißen Gelstift Punkte aufgetragen, die für etwas Struktur sorgen

Auf der langen Briefmarke oben rechts wäre bei den Stencils eigentlich eine Möwe, auf der unten mittig eine Pommes-Schachtel. Die wollte ich hier aber nicht haben. Also habe ich hier einfach Himmel und Wellen, die eigentlich unten rechts sind, aufgewischt und das Feld unten rechts mit Sand gefüllt. Davon sieht man eh nur eine kleine Ecke. Außerdem habe ich auf die beiden Briefmarken mit den Wellen kleine Wolken aufgeklebt.

Der Text ist aus den Stempelsets Sommer? und Sommer, Sonne von Stampcorner. Ich habe sie mit brauner Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. Auf einige der Briefmarken habe ich auch noch Werte aufgestempelt.

I die cut the Postage Collage die from white cardstock and then used the Postage Collage Beach Day stencils to ink the little scenes onto the individual postage stamps. I used Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Wild Honey and Walnut Stain. Onto the sandy areas I put down little dots with a brown fineliner and a white gel pen to give the sand some texture. 

On the long stamp in the top right the stencils would create a seagull and on the one ins the bottom center a box of fries. But I didn't want to have those on my card. So I simply inked some sky and waves, that originally are on the bottom right, into those windows. The stamp on the bottom right I filled with sand - you only see a glimpse of that anyways. I also glued little die cut clouds into those two windows with the wavy water.

The text means "sumer"  and "I am ready". I stamped them with brown ink onto white cardstock. I also stamped some values onto a few of the postage stamps.

Die Möwe ist die größere aus dem Inquisitive Seagulls Stanzenset. Damit sie in die richtige Richtung schaut habe ich die Stanzteile aufs Gesicht gelegt und dann mit Copics schattiert. Die Augen sind mit schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt.

The seagull is the larger one from Inquisitive Seagulls. To make it face the right direction I turned the die cuts on the face and then colored them with Copics. Behind the eyes I put some black cardstock.

Hinter den Briefmarken, den kleinen Wolken und dem Sommer-Text befindet sich dünnes, hinter der Möwe und dem unteren Text dickes 3D Tape. 

Als Deko habe ich kleine blaue Herzen auf die Sonnenschirme sowie unten rechts auf die Möwe geklebt. Dann habe ich den dekorierten Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling aufgeklebt.

I put thin foam tape behind the postage stamps, the little clouds and the text in the upper left and thick tape behind the seagull and the text in the bottom.

As decoration I glued some small blue clay hearts onto the umbrellas and the bottom right of the seagull. Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

Last Minute Valentinskarte

Morgen ist Valentinstag. Falls Ihr bei dieser Ankündigung jetzt aus allen Wolken fallt habe ich für Euch als heutiges Stampcorner-DT-Projekt eine Last Minute Valentinstagskarte, die wirklich fix gemacht ist. Ich finde aber auch, dass sie nicht nur zu Valentinstag passt.

It's Valentine's tomorrow. Well, if you forgot about it and are now getting kind of stressed, don't worry - as my Stampcorner DT project today I have a last minute valentine's day card idea that's done really quickly. But I also think, this works not only for Valentine's.

Nun, nachdem es eine "schnelle" Karte ist, ist sie vom Design her auch eher Clean and Simple. 

Ich wollte nicht, dass die Karte so offensichtlich nach Valentinstag aussieht und habe deshalb zu Lila gegriffen. Ja, irgendwie weiß ich auch nicht - dass ich mit Lila nicht unbedingt best friends bin ist ja inzwischen bekannt. Ich glaube auch, sie hat sich hier an mir dafür gerächt. Denn die Karte war fast fertig, als ich aus Versehen einen großen Tropfen Wasser mitten auf den Cardstock gebracht habe. Und so musste ich komplett von vorne anfangen, da war nichts zu retten.... Deswegen sage ich es hier jetzt mal laut: so rauchiges, ins Blau-Grau gehendes Lila finde ich durchaus schön! ;)

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück lilafarbenen Cardstocks, auf den ich ein Strickmuster aufgewischt habe. Dafür habe ich eine Stencil von MFT benutzt sowie lilafarbene Tinte. Zuerst habe ich das Muster ganz leicht auf den kompletten Cardstock aufgewischt. Da für meinen Geschmack die einzelnen Maschen des Strickmusters zu weit auseinander waren, habe ich die Stencil ein wenig nach oben gesetzt und eine weitere Lage Maschen zwischen die zuvor gewischten aufgetragen. Dabei habe ich die Tinte nur einen Hauch stärker aufgetragen.

Anschließend habe ich den Stencil Herz 2 von Stampcorner aufgelegt und nur den Bereich innerhalb des Herzes noch intensiver aufgewischt. Und schließlich habe ich hier die beiden Lagen des Strickmusters - ebenfalls durch das Herz hindurch - ebenfalls intensiviert, so dass es aussieht wie ein in einen Pulli gestricktes Herz. 

Das Herz habe ich dann mit der herzförmigen Stencil, die ebenfalls im Set enthalten ist, abgedeckt und auf den äußeren Teil etwas lila-graue Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Well, since this is a "quick" card it turned out quite clean and simple.

I didn't want this card to look obviously like a Valentine's card and so I've chosen purple. Yes, I don't know why, either - that me and purple aren't best friends should be known by now. Seems like the color felt that and took revenge for that. My card was nearly done when I somehow managed to put a large blob of water in the center of the cardstock. So I had to start all over, there was no chance to salvage this one. And so I'm saying it out loud here: a purple like this - smokey and with a hint of a greyish blue - is a color I like! ;)

The background is made from a piece of purple carsddtock, that I stenciled a knitted pattern onto. I used a stencil by MFT and purple ink for it. First I very softly inked the pattern all over the cardstock. Since the individual stitches were a bit far apart for my taste, I moved the stencil up just a notch and added another layer of the knit pattern, this time adding a bit more of the ink. 

Then I put the Herz 2 stencil by Stampcorner onto the cardstock and inked the area inside the heart even more intense. And then I did the knit pattern again - also through the heart shaped opening of the stencil - using even more ink and pressure. Now it looks like a heart knitted into a sweater. 

I put the solid heart, that also comes in the stencil set, onto the cardstock and splattered some silver-purple metallic watercolor only on the area around the dark heart.

Der Textstempel aus dem Set Du Bist passt von der Form her genau in den Herzauschnitt des Stencils. Ich habe ihn passend aufgelegt und den Text mit dunkel-lila farbener Tinte aufgestempelt. Dabei habe ich das große "Du bist", das eigentlich in der Mitte quer über das komplette Herz gestempelt wird, abgedeckt.

Auf diesen nun freien Streifen habe ich dann einen "du bist mein Lieblingsmensch" aufgebracht. Das Wort Lieblingsmensch ist mit der gleichnamigen Stanze aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Ich habe hier vier Lagen aufeinander geklebt, um etwas Höhe auf die Karte zu bringen. Das "du bist mein" ist mit Stempeln aus dem Set Kleine Worte gemacht und mit dunkel-lila Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. 

Über dem ersten I - ich finde hier den I-Punkt etwas schwer erkennbar - habe ich ein weißes Herz aufgeklebt. Vier weitere davon habe ich dann noch am Rand des gewischten Herzens aufgeklebt.

The text stamp from Du Bist fits exactly the slightly wonky shape of the heart stencil. I put it donw in the right position and then stamped the text with dark purple ink. The words man all kinds of positive characteristics. Originally there's a large "you are" stamped across the center of the heart. I covered that when stamping the text.

Onto this now empty strip I adhered a "you are my farvorite human" text. The word "favorite human", which is just one word in german, I die cut from white cardstock. I did four layers of it to add some dimension to the card. The words "you are my" I stamped with dark purple ink onto white cardstock.

Above the first  I - I really think the tittle is a bit hard to see here - I adhered a white clay heart. Then I added four more of them close to the edge of heart.

Nah am oberen und unteren Rand des lilafarbenen Cardstocks habe ich dann mit einem weißen Gelstift eine Nahtlinie aufgemalt.

Und dann kam mir noch die Idee, ein kleines Label an den Rand zu kleben, so wie Kleidung es oft hat. Also habe ich eines der Herzen aus dem großen Du Bist Stempel mit dunkel lila Tinte auf einen Streifen des lila Cardstocks gestempelt und ebenfalls eine weiße Nahtlinie aufgemalt. Dann habe ich den Streifen über  einen Falzbein gezogen und so gerundet, ihn zu einer Art Schlaufe gelegt und links unten hinter den Hintergrund geklebt.

Ganz zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

Close to the top and bottom edge I drew a sewing line across the purple cardstock using a white gel pen.

And then I had the idea of adding a little label to the cardstock edge, just like clothes have  them sometimes. So I stamped one of the hearts from the large text  stamp with dark purple ink onto a strip of purple cardstock. I added sewing lines to it as well, rounded  the strip with my bone folder and created some kind of loop with it. Then I glued it behind the bottom left of my card panel.

As the last step I adhered everything to a white note card.

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Letzten Sommer hatte ich eine Karte gemacht, für die ich unbedingt einen Heuhaufen hätte haben wollen. Der, den ich in meinen Stempeln hatte, war leider viel kleiner als das, was mir so vorgeschwebt ist. Ich habe ihn dann damals mit einem Heuballen kombiniert, aber 100 % zufrieden war ich nicht mit der Lösung. Als ich also nun die Hay There Stanze von WaffleFlower gesehen habe, musste ich sie haben. Gerade mit Enkelsohn kann man den für Bauernhofkarten immer brauchen. Und heute zeige ich Euch meine erste Karte damit.

Last summer I made a card that I really wanted to put a hay stack onto. The one stamp that I had in my stash was way smaller than what I had in mind. I combined it with a hay ball image but wasn't totally happy with that. So when I saw the Hay There die by WaffleFlower now I really had to have it. You can never have too much farm stuff with a little grandson. Today I am sharing with you the first card I made with this die.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus mehreren Lagen Cardstock. Ganz hinten habe ich hellblauen Cardstock ein wenig dunkler gewischt und dann Strahlen aus Vellum aufgeklebt. Dafür habe ich die Sunrise Backdrop Stanze von Lawnawn benutzt und sie statt, wie eigentlich designed, für eine querformatige Karte auf einer hochkantigen eingesetzt. Die Sonne und der untere Teil des Stanzteils verstecken sich hinter dem Hügel, so dass man gar nicht merkt, dass die Stanze eigentlich anders vorgesehen war. Außerdem konnte ich so die überstehenden Strahlen einfach nach hinten um den Cardstock falten und dort festkleben, so dass kein Kleber durch das Vellum sichtbar ist.

Außerdem habe ich aus zwei Cardstocks in verschiedenen Grüntönen eine Hügel und eine Graskante gestanzt. Auch hier habe ich beide Teile ein wenig mit passender grüner Tinte gewischt.

Auf den Himmel samt Strahlen und die vordere Graslage habe ich noch ein wenig weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. Ich finde, im Gras sieht das aus wie kleine Blümchen.

The background is made from different layers of cardstock. The back layer is cut from light blue cardstock. I inked it a bit darker and then added rays cut from vellum. I used the Sunrise Backdrop die by LawnFawn here and used it on this portrait card instead of a landscape oriented one, for which the die is originally designed. The sun and lower part of the die cut are hidden behind a hill, so you really can't tell that it was meant to be used differently. And this way I was also able to fold the overhanging rays over and adhere the vellum to the back of the card. This way you don't have any glue showing through the vellum.

I also used two different shades of green cardstock and cut a hill and a grassy border from them. Again I shaded the pieces with matching ink.

Onto the sky with the rays and the front grass layer I splattered some white acrylic paint. I think, in the grass those look like tiny flowers.

Auf den Hügel, direkt oberhalb der Graskante, habe ich einen weißen Weidezaun und einen Traktor aufgeklebt. 

Der Weidezaun ist mit der Little Farm Fence Border von LawnFawn aus weißem Cardstock gemacht. Für den Traktor dahinter habe ich die Tractor Stanze von Magnolia benutzt. Ich habe die Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Hinter die Reifen habe ich matt-silbernen Metallic-Cardstock gesetzt, der nun zwischen Reifen und Radnabe sichtbar ist. 

Onto the hill, directly above  the grass border, I adhered a white farm fence and a tractor.

The fence is made with the Little Farm Fence Border die by LawnFawn, cut from white cardstock. 

For the tractor I used the Tractor die by Magnolia. I cut it from white cardstock and colored it with Copics. Behind the tires I put some matte silver metallic cardstock, that is now visible between the tire and their centers.

Hauptelement der Karte ist natürlich der große Heuhaufen. Zusammen mit der Stanze kommt gleich noch ein Stencil, um den Heuhaufen zu schattieren. Den habe ich auch gleich benutzt. 

Ich habe den Heuhaufen aus hellgelbem Cardstock gemacht, ihn mit Distress Ink Mustard Seed gewischt und dann durch die Stencil Wild Honey und Brushed Corduroy aufgewischt. Das sah schon nicht schlecht aus und für eine andere Karte hätte es vollkommen gereicht. Für diese Karte aber wollte ich mehr Details auf meinem Heuhaufen. Also habe ich Polychromos in verschiedenen Geld- und Brauntönen benutzt, um dem Heuhaufen diese Details zu geben. Außerdem habe ich einen feinen weißen Gelstift eingesetzt.

In den Heuhaufen habe ich eine Mistgabel und ein Schild mit Text gesteckt. Die Mistgabel ist aus dem Set Slimline Chicken Coop von WhimsyStamps. Den unteren/vorderen Teil habe ich wieder aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. Den Stiel habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und, genauso wie später das Schild, mit Copics coloriert.

Das Schild ist mit der Wegweiser Stanze von Create a Smile gemacht - ich habe es ein wenig in der Breite gekürzt. Nach dem Colorieren habe ich dann den Text aus dem Hay There Stempelset von LawnFawn aufgestempelt.

Nun, eigentlich war das der Plan für meine Karte, aber irgendwas fehlte. Und so habe ich beschlossen, doch noch ein paar kleine Tierchen mit einzubauen. Ich schwankte zwischen Küken und Igeln, habe ich mich dann aber für die  Igel entschieden, einfach weil sie farblich besser vor dem ebenfalls gelben Heuhaufen hervorstechen. Die Igel sind aus dem Little Hedgehog Agenda von MamaElephant und ebenfalls mit Copics coloriert. Dann habe ich sie per Hand ausgeschnitten und auf dem Heuhaufen verteilt.

Nun fehlte noch ein Element unter dem Igel, der vor dem Heuhaufen sitzt. Ich habe mich dann für einen "sending hedgehugs" Text aus dem Hedgehugs Set von LawnFawn entschieden und ihn auf einen Streifen Cardstock gestempelt, den ich ebenfalls in Holzoptik coloriert habe.

Of course the hay stack is the main element on my card. Together with the die there comes a stencil to shade the hay stack. I used it here, too. 

I cut the hay stack from light yellow cardstock and shaded it with Distress Ink Mustard Seed. Then I used the stencil and Wild Honey and Brushed Corduroy to add the shading. I really liked the look and for a different card it would have been perfect as it was. But for this card I wanted more details on my hay. So I brought out my Polychromos and used different shades of yellows and browns to add those details. I also used a fine white gel pen.

I sticked a pitchfork and a sign with a text into the hay stack. The pitchfork is from Slimline Chicken Coop by WhimsyStamps. The lower/front part I cut again from the matte silver metallic cardstock. The handle I cut from white cardstock and colored it with Copics, just like the sign.

The sign is made with the Wegweiser die set by Create a Smile - I cut it a bit shorter. After coloring it I stamped the from Hay There by LawnFawn onto it.

Well, with that my original plan was finished, but I was missing something. And so I decided to add some critters to the card. I was torn between chickens and hedgehogs but then went with the hedgehogs, simply because they stick out better from the hay stack than the - also yellow - chickens. The hedgehogs are from Little Hedgehog Agenday by MamaElephant and also colored with Copics. Then I cut them out with my scissors and put them onto the hay stack.

Now I was only missing an element under the hedgehog, that's sitting in front of the hay stack. I went with "sending hedgehugs" from Hedgehugs by LawnFawn and stamped it onto a piece of cardstock that I had also colored in a wooden look.

 

Zwischen den beiden Graslagen und hinter dem Traktor befindet sich dünnes 3D Tape, auch den Heuhaufen samt Deko habe ich damit auf die Karte geklebt.

Als Deko habe ich über drei der Igeln kleine weiße Herzen aufgeklebt. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt..

Between the two grass layers and behind the tractor I put some thin foam tape and also adhered the hay stack with all its element with foam tape to the card.

As decoration I added some white clay hearts above three of the hedgehogs, then I put my card panel onto a white note card.
