Muscheln und Sand

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Das Juni-Release von WaffleFlower war maritim und gerade im Sommer kann ich da nicht widerstehen. Vor allem, weil die Motive nicht so typisch waren. Und so ist diese Karte mit viel Sand und vielen Muscheln entstanden.

The june release by WaffleFlower was ocean related and especially during summer I am not able to resist such items. Esprecially because the images/themes aren't too common. And so I made this card full of sand and seashells.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus Graspapier - das finde ich klasse für Sand, weil es durch die kleinen Einschlüsse von Gras bereits ein wenig wie Sand aussieht. Ich habe hier den Rand mit mit Distress Oxide Pumice Stone und Scorched Timber gewischt. 

Außen auf den Rand habe ich dann mit grau-brauner Tinte das Sandmotiv aus dem etwas älteren Set Inquisitive Seagulls aufgestempelt und dann etwas weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. Die Mitte des Cardstocks, auf der sich später mein Text befinden sollte, habe ich dabei abgedeckt.

Der Seashell Frame ist aus dem Juni-Release. Ich habe ihn aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Oxide Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Frayed Burlap sowie Hickory Smoke gewischt. Die passende Stencil habe ich mir nicht gekauft und zum Abdecken der Motivteile, die ich gerade nicht einfärben wollte, mit Masking Tape abgedeckt. Ich habe einfach einmal den Rahmen aus dem Tape geschnitten und dann in Teile unterteit. Klar hat das länger gedauert, als mit den Stencils, aber es war jetzt auch nicht super aufwändig. 

Auf die Muscheln habe ich mit Polychromos etwas Struktur aufgetragen, die Anker sind mit silbernem Gilding Wax betupft. Über alles - bis auf die Anker und Seesterne - habe ich Distress Ink Vintage Photo gespritzt und dann alles mit weißer Acylfarbe bespritzt.

 

I made the background from grass paper - I love that for sand because with the little grass speckles it already has some kind of sandy look. I inked the edges with Ditress Oxide Pumice Stone and Scorched Timber.

Around the edge I stamped the sand image from the older Inquisitive Seagulls set using greyish-brown ink, then added splatters of white acrylic paint. Since I wanted to put my text in the center of the card I covered this area with copy paper when adding the splatters.

The Seashell Frame is from the june release. I die cut it from white cardstock and inked it with Ditress Oxide Antique  Linen, Tea Dye, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Frayed Burlap and Hickory Smoke. I didn't buy the matching stencils and I used masking tape to cover the images that I didn't want to ink. I simply cut the whole frame from it and cut it into pieces. Of course that took slightly longer than using the stencil but it was quite easy to do.

I used Polychromos to add some details to the seashells, onto the anchors I dabbed some silver gilding wax. I did some fine splatters of Distress Ink Vintage Photo onto the seashess, then did some with white acrylic paint all over the frame.

 

 Mein Text sollte so aussehen, als hätte ihn jemand mit einem Stock in den Sand geschrieben. Ich habe die Buchstaben für das Wort Hey mit dem Lined Letters Set von MFT und Jellyfish Ink von LawnFawn auf die Mitte des Graspapiers gestempelt und dann mit Copics hauptsächlich in feinen Punkten nachgeschrieben. Auch ein weißer Gelstift kam zum Einsatz.

Das Wort friend ist aus dem Set Overlapping Hello Additions Stempelset. Ich habe es ebenfalls  mit der Jellyfish Tinte auf ein weiteres Stück Graspapier gestempelt und dann mit Copics in den selben Brauntönen, die bereits beim Wort Hey zum Einsatz kamen, nachgemalt. Anschließend habe ich das Wort mit der passenden Stanze ausgestanzt. Natürlich konnte ich es nicht so fein nachschreiben, wie der Stempel eigentlich ist, aber ich finde, es passt trotzdem. 

Das Wort Friend habe ich mit drei weiteren weißen Cardstocklagen hinterlegt und quer über das Wort Hey aufgeklebt. 

Unten rechts habe ich noch die Fußspuren einer Möwe über die Karte laufen lassen. Die sind wieder aus dem Set Inquisitive Seagulls und auf die selbe Weise wie der Text gemacht. 

Darüber war dann noch Platz für zwei Muscheln. Hierfür habe ich einfach Teile des Rahmens nochmal ausgestanzt und die beiden Muscheln mit Distress Oxides eingefärbt. Dann habe ich einen Schlitz in den Hintergrund geschnitten, die Muscheln ein wenig hineingesteckt und drumherum weitere Punkte aufgemalt.

 

I wanted my text to look like someone wrote it in the sand with a stick. I stamped the letters for the word hey onto the center of my grass paper using the Lined Letters set by MFT and the Jellyfish ink by LawnFawn.  Then I colored it mainly with fine dots and added some white gel pen, too.

The word friend is from Overlapping Hello Additions. I stamped it again with the Jellyfish ink onto another piece of the grass paper and used the same Copics, that I had already used for the word hey, to re-write it. Then I cut it out with the matching die. Of course I wasn't able to trace the stamped lines as exactly as a stamped word would have looked like but I still think it works for the card.

I backed the cut out word with three more layers cut from white cardstock and glued it across the word hey.

In the bottom right I added some seagull foot prints. They are again from Inquisitive Seagulls and made the same way I did the text.

Above the foot prints there was room for two seashells. For those I simply cut two pieces out of the frame again and colored them with Distress Oxides. With a cutter I cut a slit into the background, tucked the seashells behind/into it and added some more dots around them.

 

 Den Muschelrahmen habe ich dann mit 3D Tape auf den Sandboden geklebt und als Deko einige gold-glitzernde Enamel Dots hinzugefügt. 

Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used foam tape to adhere the seashell frame to the sandy ground and added some gold-glittery Enamel Dots as decoration.

Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Heute habe ich zur Abwechslung mal keine Karte mit niedlichen Motiven, sondern eine Blumenkarte, die den Sommer ins Haus holt. Sie ist für die Simon Says Stamp Instagram Challenge und das Thema diesen Monat dort lautet "add some texture". Gibt es eine einfachere und gleichzeitig effektvollere Art, Struktur auf eine Karte zu bringen, als einen Embossingfolder? Und der sorgt hier auch gleich für das Motiv.

Today I don't have a critter card to share, for a change I made a flower card, that brings summer into your home. I made it for the Simon Says Stamp Instagram challenge and their theme for june is "add some texture". Is there a simpler and yet more effective way to add texture than an embossing folder? And at the same time it creates the image for my card.

 

Ich habe Euch ja schon erzählt, dass mein Bastelzimmer vor kurzem umgezogen ist und ich dabei auch das ein oder andere wieder entdeckt habe, von dem ich gar nicht mehr wusste, dass ich es habe. So auch die zwei Distress Pencils (schwarz und weiß) sowie einige Distress Crayons. Ich konnte mich erinnern, dass ich die hauptsächlich wegen der weißen Stifte gekauft hatte, weil ich sie auf dunklem/farbigem Cardstock probieren wollte. Da ja dann Wasser zum Einsatz kommt, habe ich für meinen Hintergrund ganz dicken, taupefarbenen Cardstock benutzt. Der hat das Wasser wirklich prima vertragen. 

 

I already told you that I moved my craft room to two other rooms in our house and that I re-discovered a few items, that I had totally forgotten about. Two Distress Pencils (black and white) and a few Distress Crayons were some of them. I remembered, that I had bought them, to try them on dark/colored cardstock. Since I had to use water with them I used a very thick taupe colored cardstock for this card and it worked great with the water.

 

 Ich habe den Cardstock mit Wasser besprüht und dann mit dem Fresh Daisies Embossingfolder von Simon Says Stamp geprägt. Die Details dieses Embossingfolders sind phantastisch. 

Die Blüten der Gänseblümchen habe ich mit dem weißen Distress Pencil coloriert und dann ein wenig Distress Ink Shaded Lilac - und später auch noch etwas Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac - mit aufgetragen. Die restlichen Elemente des Embossingfolders habe ich mit Distress Oxide Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Wild Honey, ein wenig Crackling Campfire und Shaded Lilac eingefärbt. Außerdem habe ich den Bereich rund um die Motive mit Salvaged Patina coloriert. Zum Auftragender Farben habe ich einen feinen Pinsel verwendet.

Da durch das Auftragen von Wasser einige der geprägten Details verloren gehen, habe ich den Cardstock noch einmal mit dem Embossingfolder geprägt und anschließend weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

 

I misted the cardstock with water and dry embossed it with the Fresh  Daisies embossing folder by Simon Says Stamp. The details of thsi folder are amazing!

I colored the petals of the daisies with the white Distress Pencil and added a bit of Distress Ink Shaded Lilac - later also a bit of Distress Oxide Shaded Lilad - to them. The other elements of the embossed image I colored with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Wild Honey, a hint of Crackling Campfire and Shaded Lilac. I also put Salvaged Patina around the image. To apply the colors I used a fine brush.

Since applying water resulted in loosing some of the details in the images I put the cardstock back into the folder and embossed it again. Then I added some fine splatters of white acrylic paint.

 

 Für den Text habe ich mich für Stanzteile entschieden. Die Stanzen sind beide von MFT. Das Wort sunshine habe ich aufgedoppelt und von unten ein wenig mit Distress Oxide Wild Honey gewischt. Dann habe ich mit einem Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen etwas Glitter aufgetragen, der sich aber nicht fotografieren lassen will.

Die Texte habe ich dann auf den Hintergrund geklebt und drei kleine weiße Herzen als Deko drumherum aufgeklebt.

 

For the text I went with die cuts. The dies I used for both  words are by MFT. I doubled up the word sunshine and inked the bottom with a bit of Ditress Oxide Wild Honey. Then I applied some glitter with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen, but that just doesn't want to show itself on camera.

I glued the texts onto the background and added three little white hearts around it.

 

 Hier sieht man die Tiefe der geprägten Elemente nochmal besser.

Als letzten Schritt habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

As the last step I glued the card panel to a white note card.

Mit der heutigen Karte zeige ich Euch, wie Sommer auch gehen kann - bei uns hier lässt er ja bisher doch zu wünschen übrig... Aber die Mäuse auf meiner Karte sind ans Meer gefahren und genießen dort nun Sommer, Sonne, Strand und Meer. Und ich bin neidisch...

 

Hello everyone!

On today's card I am showing, what summer can be like - here in Germany it's still pretty cold and rainy... But the mice on my card took a trip to the beach and are now enjoying summer, sun, beach and ocean. And I am jealous...

 

Vor kurzem habe ich mein Bastelzimmer in ein - okay zwei - andere(s) Zimmer verlegt und dabei einigen neu sortiert. Dabei ist mir auch jede Menge strukturierter Cardstock in die Hände gefallen, den ich nun immer wieder mal verwenden und somit (irgendwann) aufbrachen möchte. Deswegen hat der Himmel hier eine leichte Waffelstruktur. 

Ich habe hellblauen Cardstock benutzt und oben mit Distress Ink Salty Ocean leicht gewischt. 

Auf den Himmel habe ich eine Sonne geklebt, die mit dem Reveal Wheel Flower and Sun Add-On Set von LawnFawn gemacht ist. Ich habe alles aus hellgelbem Cardstock gestanzt - den Kreis in der Mitte zweimal - und dann ganz leicht mit Mustard Seed gewischt. 

Auch für die Wellen kam strukturierter Cardstock zum Einsatz, diesmal in hellem Aqua. Ich habe jeweils die obere Kante mit Stanzen aus den Sets Stitched Waves Borders und Stitched Simple Wavy Borders wellenförmig gestanzt und außerdem die größten Wellen auch einmal aus braunem Cardstock für meinen Strand gestanzt. Die Wellen habe ich dann leicht mit Broken China gewischt.

 

A little ago I moved my craftroom into a different - okay, two different - room(s) and rearranged everything. I came across quite a bit of structured cardstock and I plan to incorporate it into my cards every now and then to hopefully use it up one day. That's why the sky has a slight waffle structure on this card.

I used light blue cardstock for the sky and inked the top with Distess Ink Salty Ocean. 

I adhered a sun onto the sky and cut that from light yellow cardstock using the Reveal Wheel Flower and Sun Add-On set by LawnFawn. The center circle I die cut two times and inked the pieces very lightly with Mustard Seed.

And also for the waves I used some structured cardstock, this time in a light aqua. I die cut the top edge of each piece into a wavy shape using the sets Stitched Waves Borders and Stitched Simple Wavy Borders and also cut the larges wave also from a piece of brown cardstock for my beach. I inked the waves lightly with Broken China.

 

 Im Wasser sieht man die Mäuse, wie sie auf einem großen aufblasbaren Flamingo Spaß haben.

Der Flamingo ist mit dem Flamingo Floatie Set gemacht. Ich habe ihn aus pinkfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Lumberjack Plaid etwas schattiert. Außerdem habe ich Teile aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, abgeschnitten und aufgeklebt. 

Die Mäuse auf der Karte sind aus den Sets Bubbles of Joy, Dandy Day und Whoosh Kites. Eine liegt auf dem Kopf des  Flamingos, einer anderen wurde wohl zu warm und sie ist zur Abkühlung ins Wasser gesprungen. Alle Motive sind mit Copics coloriert. 

Rund um die Mäuse habe ich dann ein paar Sprechblasen aus dem Set All the Speech Bubbles verteilt und Texte aus dem Set Pool Party hineingestempelt. 

Da das Wasser etwas leer wirkte, habe ich noch ein paar kleine Fische aus dem Set Mermaid for You aufgestempelt, die vom vielen Gelächter angelockt neugierig die Kopfe aus dem Wasser strecken.

Und ganz zum Schluss fehlte mir irgendwie ein Abschluss der Karte. Also habe ich den oberen Teil des Tropical Leaves Backdrops aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Speckled Egg, Broken China und Uncharted Mariner gewischt. Dann habe ich etwas mit Wasser verdünntes Uncharted Mariner und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. Die Blumen aus dem selben Set habe ich aus pinkfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. Die Blätter habe ich dann hinter einen schmalen Rahmen aus schwarzem Cardstock, den ich einfach mit dem Papierschneider zugeschnitten habe, gesetzt. 

 

 In the water there are the mice, that brought their large flamingo floatie.

The flamingo is made using the Flamingo Floatie die. I cut it from pink colored cardstock and shaded it with Lumberjack Plaid. I also cut some parts from black cardstock, cut them off and adhered them on top of the pink.

The mice on the card are from Bubbles of Joy, Dandy Day and Whoos Kites. One is laying on top of the flamingo's head, another one decided to take a dip into the water to cool off. I colored all images on the card with Copics.

I added some speech bubbles from All the Speech Bubbles around the mice and stamped texts from Pool Party into them.

Since the water seemed a bit empty I added some small fish from Mermaid for You. They heard all the laughter and are curiously looking out of the water.

And in the very end I needed some kind of frame for the scene. So I cut the top part of the Tropical Leaves Backdrop from white cardstock and inked it with Speckled Egg, Broken China and Uncharter Mariner. Then I flicked some watered down Uncharted Mariner and also white acrylic paint onto the leaves. The flowers from the same set I cut from pink cardstock and shaded them with Copics. I glued the leaves behind a thin frame, that I simply cut with my paper trimmer.

 

 Auf die oberste Wellenlage habe ich meinen Sand geklebt. Der ist mit Scorched Timber gewischt und damit sowie mit weißer Acrylfarbe bespritzt. Am Übergang zwischen Wasser und Sand habe ich mit einer Spachtel weiße Paste als Schaum aufgetupft - etwas, das ich bei Amy R gesehen habe. 

Auf dem Sand befindet sich mein Text. Der ist wieder aus Pool Party und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Neben den Text habe ich eine weitere Blume sowie einige Muscheln aus Mermaid for You und On the Beach gesetzt.

 

Onto the top layer of waves I adhered the sand layer. I inked it with Scorched Timber and flicked some of that ink and also white acrylic paint onto it. Onto the seam of water and sand I added some white paste as sea foam, dabbing it on with a palette knife - something I saw Amy R doing. 

Onto the sand I adhered my text. It's again from Pool Party and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. Next to the text I added another flower and some seashells  from Mermaid for You and On the Beach.

 

 Zwischen einige der Lagen  habe ich beim Zusammensetzen der Szene 3D Tape gesetzt. Auf das Wasser habe ich Stickles aufgetragen und außerdem Highlights und Details mit einem weißen Gelstift gesetzt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

When putting the scene together I put foam tape between some layers. I added Stickles to the water  and used a white gel pen to add some highlights and details.

Then I glued the card panel onto a white card base.

 

Bubble Tea Geburtstagskarte

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Heute habe ich eine Geburtstagskarte mit verstecktem Gutschein für Euch. Die Karte war eigentlich ganz anders geplant - aber eins kam zum anderen und zum Schluss blieb von der eigentlichen Idee nur noch das kleine Bubble Tea Motiv übrig. Aber ich bin zufrieden.

Today I have a card with a hidden gift card to share with you. This card was planned completly different - but one thing led to the next and in the end from this original idea the only thing that made it to the card was the little bubble tea image. I am still happy with the card.

 

Die Karte ist vom Design her eher einfach. Im Hintergrund befindet sich ein Stück braunen Cardstocks, auf den ich ein etwas kleineres Stück Transparentpapier mit goldenen Folienpunkten geklebt habe. Den Kleber kann man in diesem Fall super hinter den Folienpunkten verstecken. 

 

The card is more on the simpler side, design wise. I cut a piece from dark brown cardstock and glued a smaller piece of vellum with gold foil dots on it. The glue can easily be hidden behind those dots.

 

 Für den Becher voller Bubble Tea kam natürlich die Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder Stanze von LawnFawn zum Einsatz. Ich habe einmal den Becher aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt, den oberen Teil abgerundet weggeschnitten und denn Cardstock dann mit Distress Oxide Tea Dye und Vinage Phot gewischt. Außerdem habe ich Wassertropfen und mit Wasser vermischte dunkelbraune Stempelfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Die Bubbles unten im Becher habe ich dann mit Versafine Clair Pinecone und den gefüllten Kreisen aus dem Stempelset Little Fireflies aufgestempelt.

Zusätzlich habe ich den Becher und Deckel je einmal aus Acetate gestanzt. Beim vollfächigen Becher habe ich das Oberteil weggeschnitten und in den Deckel eine kleine ovale Öffnung gestanzt. Durch die habe ich einen Strohhalm, gemacht mit einer der Build-a-Drink Stanzen aus schwarzem Cardstock, geschoben. 

Als Deko habe ich das Let's Par-Tea mit StazOn direkt auf den Becher gestempelt. Den kleinen Bubble Tea habe ich mit Copics coloriert, mit Glossy Accents überzogen und als Deko auf den Becher geklebt. Quer darüber kam noch ein Happy Birthday. Alle Stempel sind aus dem Set Year Fifteen.

Unter den Becher habe ich ein schwarzes Oval geklebt. An den Strohhalm habe ich eine Schleife aus cremefarbenem Twine gebunden. Außerdem habe ich zwei weiße Herzen auf den Becherdeckel geklebt. Das war mehr eine Notlösung, denn beim Herauslösen des kleinen Ovals aus dem Deckel habe ich die dünne Verbindung des Deckelrandes versehentlich mit abgerissen - die beiden Herzen halten die Teile wieder zusammen.

 

I used the Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder die by LawnFawn to create my bubble tea. I die cut the  cup once from cream colored cardstock and cut off the top a bit rounded. Then I inked the cardstock with Distress Oxide Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. I also splattered some droplets of water and dark brown ink, mixed with some water, onto the cardstock.

 The bubbles at the bottom of the cup I stamped with Versafine Clair Pinecone and the solid circles from Little Fireflies.

I also cut the cup and lid from acetate and cut off the top of the cup. Into the lid I die cut a small oval. Through that oval I put a paper straw, cut from black cardstock using a die from one of the Build-a-Drink sets.

To decorated my cup I stamped the Let's Par-Tea with black StazOn onto the cup. The small bubble tea I colored with Copics and covered it with Glossy Accents, then adhered it to the cup. Across the cup I put a happy birthday sentiment. All stamps are from Year Fifteen.

I put a black oval under the cup and tied a bow from cream twine to the paper straw. I also added two white clay hearts to the lid. That was more a necessitiy than decoration - when die cutting the oval into the lid I accidently ripped apart the connection of the different lid parts on the right side. The two hearts hold them together.

 

 Den Textstreifen und den Bubble Tea habe ich mit 3D Tape auf den Becher geklebt.

Den kompletten Becher habe ich dann mit einem kleinen Lasche versehen und die durch einen Schlitz im Designpapier gesteckt. So lässt sich der komplette Becher nach unten klappen.

 

I adhered the text strip and the bubble tea to the lid with foam tape.

Then I added a little flap to the bottom back of the cup and put that through a slit in the patterned paper. This way the cup can be folded down.

 

 Klappt man den Becher herunter, kommt dahinter ein weiterer Becher aus hellblauem Cardstock zum Vorschein. In den - und die Papiere dahinter - habe ich mit einer weiteren Stanze aus dem Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder Stanzenset einen Schlitz gestanzt, in den eine Geschenkkarte gesteckt werden kann.

Auf den blauen Becher habe ich zuerst einige Blasen aus dem Set Bubbles of Joy aufgestempelt und darüber Cardstockstreifen mit einem aufgestempelten Text geklebt. Der ist aus Stempeln aus den Sets Bubbles of Joy und Reveal Wheel Spring Sentiments zusammengesetzt.

 

When you fold the cup down there's another cup behind it, this time cut from light blue cardstock. Into that - and also the papers behind it - I cut a slit, using another die from Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder set. Into that you can a gift card.

I first stamped some bubbles from Bubbles of Joy onto the blue cup, then glued some cardstocks strip with a stamped on text over them. The text I put together from stamps from Bubbles of Joy and Reveal Wheel Spring Sentiments.

 

 Die Blasen habe ich mit Stickles beglittert und dann einige weiße Herzen als Deko aufgeklebt.

 

I glittered the bubbles with Stickles and added some white clay hearts as decoration.

 

Schon wieder ein Koffer!

Eine weitere Freundin ist 50 geworden - und auch für sie gab es eine gemeinsame Reise als Geschenk. Und ein Koffer als Gutschein-Verpackung hat sich da natürlich - wieder mal - angeboten.

Another friend turneed 50 - and of course also she got a girl's trip from and with the rest of us. And yes, once again I made a suitcase for her so we have something to give her. 

Hier habe ich den Koffer aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestaltet und als Deko einen kleinen Trolley und einen Rucksack angeklebt. Sonst wäre die Fläche einfach viel zu leer und fad gewesen.

Here I created the suitcase from light grey cardstock and added a little trolley and a backpack as decoration to the front. Otherwise this large area would have look way too plain and boring.

Das tolle daran, wenn man bereits einige gemeinsame Reisen unternommen hat, ist, dass es den ein oder anderen "Insider" unterzubringen gibt... Die erkläre ich hier aber nicht näher. Ich habe die dazugehörigen Texte am PC ausgedruckt und mit Sprechblasen-Stanzen ausgestanzt. Die habe ich außerdem schwarz hinterlegt.

Außerdem habe ich versucht, von jeder der bisherigen Reisen ein kleines Element unterzubringen. Hier ist es der Pulli... Den habe ich aus dunkelblauem Cardstock sowie graublau/weiß gestreiftem Designpapier gestanzt. Darauf habe ich dann mit weißem Embossingpulver ein Moin! aufembosst und außerdem die kleine Freebie-Mini-Möwe von Create a Smile darauf geklebt. Dann habe ich ihn ordentlich gefaltet - naja, mehr oder weniger - und über den Trolley gehängt. Den habe ich aus dunkelgrauem Cardstock gemacht und mit einem roten Band versehen - ebenfalls eine kleine Hommage....

When you went on a few trips together already, then there are always a few inside jokes. I won't explain those here but I included some on this box. I printed the texts on my computer and cut them out with some speech bubble dies. I also put a black shadow layer behind them.

I also tried to include a little element from each of the trips we already went on. Here it's the sweater. I die cut that from dark blue cardstock and blue and white striped patterned paper. Then I white heat embosed the "moin!" onto it and glued the little seagull freebie image by Create a Smile onto it. I folded it neatly - well, more or less - and then hung it over the trolley. The trolley I created from dark grey cardstock and added some red twine to it - another element from one of our previous trips.

Rechts befindet sich ein Rucksack mit einem weiteren Insider. Den Rucksack habe ich, farblich zum Koffer mit Pulli passend, aus dunkelblauem Cardstock und dem gestreiften Designpapier gewerkelt und mit einem weißen Stern verziert. 

Die Cola-Flasche habe ich mit einer der Soda Pop Bottles Stanzen von MFT aus weißem und rotem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Copics coloriert und dann den Text aus dem Soda Pop Stempelset weiß auf das Label embosst. Dannn habe ich die Flasche in den Rucksack gesteckt und eine weitere Sprechblase angebracht. 

On the right side I attached a backpack with another inside joke. I created the backpack from the same dark blue cardstock and striped patterned paper to make it match the decoration on the left, then added a white star to it.

The coke bottle I die cut from white cardstock using one of the dies from the Soda Pop Bottles die set by MFT, then colored it with Copics. I die cut the label from red cardstock and white heat embossed the text from the Soda Pop stamp set onto it. Then I tucked the bottle into the backpack and added another speech bubble.

Oben am Koffer habve ich neben einem Griff noch einen Namenstag und den Gepäckaufkleber der Fluggesellschaft angebracht.

Da ich keine Reißverschluss-Stanze habe, musste ich hierfür ein wenig tricksen. Ich habe den Close Knit Background von GinaK mit schwarzer Tinte auf dunkelgrauen Cardstock gestempelt, in einzelne Streifen geschnitten und die rund um auf den Koffer geklebt. Den Zipper habe ich mit einer kleiner Tag-Stanze gestaltet.

To the top of the suitcase I added a handle, a name tag and the baggage registration sticker of the airline.

Since I didn't have a zipper die I had to get a bit creative here. I stamped the Close Knit Background by GinaK with black ink onto dark grey cardstock, cut it into strips and glued those all around the suitcase. The little "zipper handle" I created using a small tag die.

Und wenn man den Koffer öffnet, ist er mit Glückwünschen und der Enthüllung des Reiseziels bepackt. 

When you open the suitcase, it's packed with birthday wishes and the reveal of the destination of the next trip.

Es geht nach Barcelona - und das ist auch der Grund, warum der Koffer so lang werden musste. Rom hätte definitiv einen kleineren Koffer ergeben!

Ich habe den Koffer innen schwarz verkleidet und eine Stufe eingebaut. Auf der steht die Skyline von Barcelona. Ich gebe zu, ich habe mich hier eines Bilds aus dem Internet bedient. 

Über der Skyline befinden sich zwei Sprechblasen, die uns schon mal mit "Hola Chicas" begrüssen. Und darüber, quer über die gesamte Box, habe ich ein Banner in den Farben der spanischen Flagge gespannt. Es ist mit der Fishtail Banner Stanze von LawnFawn gemacht und ich habe davor ein Stück weißes Twine gespannt, mit dem ich das Banner auch an der Box befestigt habe. Leider hing es ein wenig durch, so dass ich von oben noch ein Stück Acetat als Halterung angebracht habe, sonst hätte man das Hola Chicas nicht wirklich lesen können....

Und vorne in der Box befinden sich Hände, die die Buchstaben für das Wort Barcelona und natürlich die Flugtickets halten. Die Buchstaben habe ich mit dem Impact Alphabet von MFT aus rotem und gelbem Cardstock gestanzt und dann jeweils die Mitten der gelben Buchstaben auf die roten aufgeklebt. So entsteht wieder die spanische Flagge. 

Die Hände sind aus verschiedenen Stanzensets von MFT. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. 

We're going to Barcelona - and that's also the reason, why this suitcase turned out that wide. Rome would definately have made a much smaller one!

I covered the inside of the suitcase with black cardstock and added some kind of half-landing. On that I put the skyline of Barcelona. I admit that I simply printed a picture I found online here.

Above the skyline I placed two speechbubbles, that are greeting us with "hola chicas". And above those I've hung up a banner in the colors of the spanish flag. I made it with the Fishtail Banner dies by LawnFawn and glued a piece of white twine onto it. I used the twine to fix the banner inside the box. I was hanging a bit low so I added a piece of acetate to hold it up, otherwise the "hola chicas" was very hard to read...

And in front of everything there are hands, holding the letters of the word Barcelona and the flight tickets. I die cut the letters with the Impact Alphabet from red and yellow cardstock, then adhered the centers of the yellow letters onto the red ones to create the spanish flag again.

The hands are from different die sets by MFT. I die cut them from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.

 

 Auf die Rückwand habe ich mit goldener und roter Folie noch die Firework Hotfoil Plates von LawnFawn auffoliert und außerdem etwas goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Onto the back I hot foiled some fireworks using red and gold foil and the Firework hotfoil plates by LawnFawn. I also added splatters with gold metallic watercolor.

Der Teil, der beim Öffnen des Koffers aufklappt, enthält die Geburtstagsgrüße und bietet Platz für unsere Unterschriften. 

Zuerst habe ich auf grauen Cardstock, den ich dann noch schwarz gemattet habe, mit goldenem Embossingpulver und Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid und den Pinwheel Party Stencils von The Greetery die Deko aufgewischt. Da die Box weiter ist als die Stencil, habe ich sie aneinander gesetzt und nicht alle Pinwheels - gibt es dafür ein deutsches Wort? - aufgebracht. Dann habe ich goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Auch die Luftschlangen sind von The Greetery und mit dem Curly Q Streamers Stanzenset aus schwarzem und goldenem Cardstock gemacht.

Und weil die Hotfoil-Maschine schon ausgepackt war, habe ich auch die Buchstaben für das "happy birthday" sowie das kleine th gold auf roten Cardstock foliert. Dafür habe ich die Essential Alpha Hotfoil Plates von Altenew verwendet und sie mit den dazu passenden Stanzen ausgetanzt. Leider sind in dem Set keine Zahlen -  und es gibt wohl auch kein passendes - so dass ich die 50 anders werkeln musste. Ich habe die Impact Numbers von MFT benutzt, die Zahlen aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und dann mit einem goldenen Gelstift Linien aufgemalt, damit sie zumindest fast zum Rest des Textes passen.

Das keine "from all of us" darunter ist mit Stempeln von LawnFawn gemacht und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

The part, that collapses down when the suitcase is opened, contains some birthday wishes and leaves room for the rest of us to sign.

First I used gold embossing powder and Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid and the Pinwheel Party stencils by The Greetery, to add the pinwheels onto a piece of grey cardstock, that I matted black later. Since the box is wider than the stencils, I only used a few of the pinwheels and put them together. Then I splattered some gold metallic watercolor on top.

The streamers are als by The Greetery and die cut with the Curly Q Streamers dies from black and gold cardstock. 

And since I had the hotfoil machine out already I also hotfoiled the letters for the "happy birthday" and the "th". I used the Essential Alpha hotfoil plates by Altenew to gold foil the letters onto red cardstock. then I cut them out with the matching dies. Well, there are no numbers in this set - it also seems like there isn't one available - so I had to create the 50 differently. I used the Impact Numbers by MFT, die cut the numbers from red cardstock and then used a gold gel pen to make the numbers match the letters at least a bit. 

The small "from all of us" is made using stamps by LawnFawn and white heat embossed it onto black cardstock. 

Die Luftschlangen und die Texte habe ich dann mit dünnem und dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

Letzten Monat war so viel los, dass ich es einfach nicht geschafft habe, eine Karte für die Challenge der Share Handmade Kindness Gruppe zu machen. Aber diesen Monat bin ich dann wieder dabei - und hier ist meine Karte dafür.

Last month was so busy that I simply didn't have time to make a card for the challenge in Jennifer McGuire's Share Handmade Kindness group. But this month I am in again - and here's the card I made.

 

Das Video, das diesen Monat Thema ist, stellt Texte einfach aber effektvoll in Szene.

Ich habe hier die Monstera Layering Stencils von SimonSaysStamp benutzt und mit Distress Inks Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn und Rustic Wilderness auf cremefarbenen Cardstock gestencilt. 

Die äußeren Ränder des Cardstocks habe ich mit etwas Old Paper gewischt und dann weiße Acrylfarbe über alles gespritzt. Außerdem habe ich mit einem hellgrauen Copic einen Schatten an das Blatt gemalt. 

 

The video, that's this month's theme, is showing ways to put a sentiment in the focus the easy but impactful way. 

I used the Monstera Layerings stencils by SimonSaysStamp and stenciled them with Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness onto a piece of cream colored cardstock. 

I inked the outer edges of the cardstock with a bit of Old Paper and then splattered white acrylic paint onto the panel. I also used a light grey Copic marker to draw a shadow around the leave.

 

 Aus dem fertig gewischten Cardstock habe ich dann eine Streifen herausgschnitten und mit goldfarbenen Metallic Cardstock hinterlegt. Dann habe ich ihn mit 3D Tape wieder aufgeklebt - dieser Streifen bildet den Hintergrund für den gestanzten Text.

Das "hugs" ist mit der Circled Greetings Hugs Stanze von Altenew gemacht - den Kreis drumherum habe ich einfach weggeschnitten - und besteht aus zwei Lagen weißen Cardstocks und darauf einer leicht versetzten Lage aus dem goldenen Metallic Cardstock. 

Den Rest des Textes habe ich mit Stempeln aus dem Set Monster Mash von LawnFawn zusammengesetzt. Ich fand das Wortspiel "sending monstera hugs" statt "monster hugs" ganz lustig und habe einfach an das Wort "monster" ein A angestempelt. Diesen Textteil habe ich mit schwarzem Cardstock direkt auf den Hintergrund gestempelt. 

 

I cut a strip out of the stenciled cardstock and matted it with a strip of gold shimmer cardstock. Then I glued it back in place with foam tape - this strip is going to be the backdrop of the text.

The word "hugs" is made using the Circled Greetings Hugs die by Altenew - I simply cut off the circle around it - and is made from two layers of white cardstock and on top, slightly offset, a layer from gold shimmer cardstock. 

The rest of the text I put together using stamps from Monster Mash by LawnFawn. I liked the pun of "sending monstera hugs" instead of "monster hugs" and so I simply added an A to the word "monster.

 

 Als Deko habe ich dann einige goldene Pailetten sowie zwei goldene Herzen aufgeklebt und den kompletten Cardstock wieder gold gemattet. Dann habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt.

Und wer hat jetzt den Fehler in der Karte gefunden? Ich löse auf: Ich hatte das Monstera-Blatt zuerst mit Old Paper in der Mitte gewischt und im Pinsel war wohl noch etwas Olivgrün. Die Farben haben mir nicht so recht gefallen. Also habe ich den Cardstock umgedreht und auf der Rückseite ein weiteres Blatt gewischt. Nach dem Zerschneiden des Cardstocks habe ich dann offenbar den unteren Streifen so aufgeklebt, dass das zuerst gewischte Blatt auf der Rückseite zu sehen ist. Das ist mir tatsächlich erstmal gar nicht aufgefallen, ich fand nur, dass die Streifen unten nicht so toll zusammenpassen, habe das aber auf den schmalen goldenen Streifen geschoben. Erst ganz zum Schluss habe ich mich dann gewundert, wo denn mein grauer Schatten im unteren Bereich geblieben ist - und da fiel es mir auf. Da war es dann aber zu spät, denn es war schon alles zusammengeklebt. Aber deswegen ist das Blatt unten auch nicht komplett, ich hatte die Stencils beim ersten Wischen etwas anders auf den Cardstock gelegt. Aber jetzt mal ehrlich - wem war es wirklich aufgefallen?

 

I added some gold sequins and two gold hearts as decoration and matted the whole card panel with the gold shimmer cardstock. Then I adhered it to a white card base.

And now I have to ask, if anyone spotted the mistake on this card? I had inked the monstera leave with some Old Paper in the center first and also had some kind of olive ink left in the blending brush. I didn't like those colors so I turned the cardstock around and did another leave on the back. After cutting the image into strips I must have glued down the bottom strip with the "wrong" leave facing up. I really didn't realize it, just thought that the bottom strip doesn't fit nicely. But I thought it just looks like that because of the gold cardstock strip inbetween. Only at the very end I wondered, where my grey shadows had gone on the bottom of the card - and that's where I realized my mistake. But by that time I had already glued everything together. That's also why the leave is cut off at the bottom - I had placed the stencils a bit differently onto the back of the cardstock.

And now, be honest - did anyone realize it?

 

Magische Geburtstagskarte

Auf der Karte, die ich Euch heute zeige, tummeln sich alle möglichen magische Kreaturen. Bei so viel Magie, kann der Tag ja nur gut werden!

On today's card all kind of magical creatures are shown - with that much magic the day can only become a good one!

 

Der Hintergrund ist aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks gemacht, den ich mit Distress Ink Broken China, Uncharted Mariner und Black Soot gewischt habe. Die hellste Stelle befindet sich dabei dort, wo ich später den Zauberer mit seiner Kristallkugel aufgeklebt habe.

Auf den Hintergrund habe ich dann mit weißer Tinte den Cosmic Halftone Background aufgestempelt. Der ist eigentlich eher  für hochformatige Karten gedacht, aber er passt auch gut auf dieser querformatigen Karte. Man sieht davon eh nicht mehr viel, ich wollte einfach den Hintergrund der Karte etwas interessanter machen. 

Anschließend habe ich grüne Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Und aus hellgrünem Vellum habe ich mit den Rainbow Slice Tunnel Stanzen von Spellbinders "Schwaden" ausgestanzt und, ausgehend vom Zauberer, auf die Karte geklebt.

 

The background is made from a piece of white cardstock, that I inked with Distress Ink Broken China, Uncharted Mariner and Black Soot. The lightest spot is where I wanted to glue down the magician with his crystal ball later.

I used white pigment ink and stamped the Cosmic Halftone Background onto the inked cardstock. It's made to fit a portrait card, I think, but it also looks good on a landscape card. Most of it will be covered by the images anyway, I just wanted to add some interest to the background.

Then I added splatters of green metallic watercolor.

From light green vellum I die cut some "wisps of fog" using the Rainbow Slice Tunnel die set by Spellbinders and adhered them to the background.

 

 Entlang der unteren Kante der Karte habe ich einenStreifen schwarzen Cardstocks aufgeklebt und als Boden für meine Motive benutzt.

Die sind aus den Stempelsets Cast a Spell und Create Magic und alle mit Copics coloriert. Anschließend habe ich sie per Hand ausgeschnitten. 

Eigentlich hatte ich die Karte ohne den Zauberer geplant, aber der durfte dann doch noch mit auf die Karte. 

 

I glued a strip of black cardstock across the bottom of my card and used them as a ground for my images.

Those images are all from Cast a Spell and Create Magic and are all colored with Copics. Then I cut them out with my scissors.

Originally I had planned the card without the magician, but then decided, he would look nice with all the other magical creatures.

 

 Den Text habe ich auf eine Schriftrolle aus einem der bereits genannten Sets gestempelt und mit kleinen Sternchen dekoriert. 

Wie erwähnt, war der Zauberer eigentlich erst nicht für die Karte geplant, ich hatte stattdessen den kleinen Drachen, der auf seiner Mütze sitzt, coloriert, ausgeschnitten und auf die Mütze des Froschs geklebt. Nachdem der Zauberer doch auf die Karte durfte, habe ich den Drachen wieder abgelöst und stattdessen obenauf die Schriftrolle geklebt. 

I stamped the text onto a scroll from one of the already mentioned stamp sets and decorated it with some small stars.

As I said, I hadn't planned to use the magician on this card, instead I had stamped the dragon, that's sitting on his hat, colored it, cut it out and glued it onto the frog's hat. Since I changed my mind and brought in the magician I removed the dragon from the frog's hat and instead adhered it on top of the scroll.  

Auf die Nebelschwaden und einige kleine Details der Motive habe ich Stickles aufgetragen, die Kristallkugel des Zauberers ist mit Glossy Accents überzogen. Außerdem habe ich kleine goldene Sternchen als Deko auf der Karte verteilt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Onto the mists and some small details in the images I applied Stickles, the crystal ball is covered with Glossy Accents. I also added some small gold star sequins to the card.

Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.
