Hallo Ihr Lieben!
Letzte Woche habe ich Euch meine Shaker Card für Faule mit dem Mixer von LawnFawn gezeigt - und war komplett überwältigt von all den vielen Reaktionen und lieben Kommentaren. So viele haben nach einer Anleitung gefragt. Nun, mit dem Bearbeiten von Videos stehe ich auf Kriegsfuß, aber ich habe Euch zumindest eine gute alte Step-by-Step Anleitung mit vielen Fotos gemacht. Und dabei ist natürlich eine neue Karte entstanden.

Last week I shared with you my shaker card for lazy people with the blender die by LawnFawn - and was completly blown away from all the reactions and lovely comments. So many of you have asked for a tutorial. Well, I don't know much about video editing and the few times I've tried it it was a mess. But at least I made one of those good old step-by-step instruction with lots of pictures. And of course I made a new card design for it.

This time I put the shaker into a washing machine. And this is how it's made:
Ich habe die Teile für meinen Shaker vorbereitet - Details über die verwendeten Artikel etc. findet Ihr dann weiter unten im Post.
Ich habe einen Hintergrund gemacht und außerdem die Waschmaschine sowie einige Dekoelemente coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Bei der Waschmaschine habe ich ein komplettes Motiv coloriert, einmal nur die Tür/das Fenster und einmal dann nur den feinen Ring um das Fenster herum. Für den Shaker brauchen wir dann noch ein paar mehr der Ringe. Da die per Hand doch etwas blöd auszuschneiden waren, habe ich mir mit fast perfekt passenden Kreisstanzen beholfen und fünf davon aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt.
I prepared the pieces for my card - I will tell you more about what I used etc. later in the post.
I created a background and also colored the washing machine and a few other elements for my card. I did one complete washing machine, once just the window and once only the thin ring around the window. For the shaker we need a few more of these rings. Since it was kind of hard to cut those by hand I simply used some nearly identical circle dies and cut out five of them from black cardstock.
Klebt die Waschmaschine and die Stelle, an der Ihr sie auf der Karte haben möchtet. Ich habe die Shirts oben auch mit aufgeklebt einfach um besser abschätzen zu können, wo genau sich meine Waschmaschine befinden soll. Tragt den Kleber beim Aufkleben nicht nur außen am Motiv auf sondern auch hinter dem Fenster, so dass das Motiv auch dort mit dem Hintergrund verbunden ist.
Glue the washing machine onto your background just where you want it to be on your card. I adhered the shirts as well, just to better be able to tell, where I wanted my machine to be. When glueing the machine down, don't apply the glue only along the edges of the machine but also behind the window, so the image is stuck to the background in that area, too.
Nehmt dann eine Kreisstanze und stanzt einen Kreis aus beiden Lagen - dem Fenster der Machine und dem Hintergrund. Die Größe des Kreises ist dabei nicht so wichtig, er sollte nur mindestens doppelt so groß wie Euer Vibration Button und natürlich kleiner als das Fenster der Waschmaschine sein.
Use a circle die and cut a circle from both layers - the window of the machine and the background. The size of the circle doesn't really matter, it only has to be at least double the diameter of your vibration button and of course smaller than the window in the washing machine.
Jetzt kommt der Kartenrohling ins Spiel - ich habe mich für weiß entschieden. Legt den Hintergrund darauf und fahrt mit einem Bleistift den aus dem Hintergrund gestanzten Kreis nach. So wisst Ihr im nächsten Schritt, wo sich Euer Vibration Button befinden muss.
Now the card base comes into play - I went with a white one. Place your background onto the card base and trace the circle, you 've just cut out, with a pencil. This way you know, where to place your vibration button.
Für die Mechanik in der Karte braucht Ihr leitfähiges Klebeband, einen Vibration Button und eine Batterie. Beim Klebeband benutze ich gerne leitfähiges Gewebeband, das reißt nicht so leicht wie Kupfertape, aber das geht natürlich genauso.
Den Vibration Button habe ich über Ama.on bestellt. Wenn Ihr Mini Vibration Button DC3V in die Suche eingebt, findet Ihr auf jeden Fall das richtige. Es gibt sehr viele Angebote dafür.
Und dann braucht Ihr noch eine 3V Batterie. Ich nehme gerne CR2025, die ist schön dünn, CR2032 geht aber genauso gut.
For the mechanical shaker you need some conductive tape, a vibration button and a battery. For the tape I like to use some woven one, that doesn't tear as easily like copper tape. But of course you can use that as well.
The vibration button I ordered from Ama.on. When you type Mini Vibration Button DC3V into the search you'll find the right one. There are a lot of seller for this type of button.
And then you need a 3V battery. I love to use CR2025, it's a nicely thin one, but CR2032 works as well.
Legt Euren Knopf - Klebeseite nach oben - in die Mitte des aufgezeichneten Kreises auf Eurem Kartenrohling und klebt ein Stück des leitfähigen Tapes vom roten Kabel bis an die Stelle, an der sich später Eure Batterie, und somit auch die Stelle, an der man auf die Kartenfront drücken muss, befinden soll. Klebt noch ein kleines Stück des Klebebandes oben auf das Kabel und lasst es mit dem Tape darunter überlappen.
Put the vibration button into the center of the circle you just traced onto your cardbase (the self adhesive side faces up) and glue a piece of the conductive tape from the red cable of the button to where you want to place your battery. This is also the spot, that you will have to press onto on the card front later.
Schneidet nun ein kleines Stück Papier - ich nehme einfach
Kopierpapier - zu und faltet es. Mein Stück ist etwa 1,5 x 4 cm. Dies
wird der „Schalter“. Klebt es an/neben die Stelle, an der später die
Batterie liegen soll. Eine Seite der Batterie
muss Kontakt zum bereits aufgeklebten leitfähigen Band haben, überklebt
das also nicht komplett, es ist aber kein Problem, wenn das Papier
dieses Band ein wenig überlappt.
Now cut a small piece of paper - I simply use copy paper -
and fold it. My piece is about 1 /2“ x 1 1/4“. This will be the
„switch“ for the mechanism. Glue the piece next to/onto the place where
you plan to place the battery. One side of the battery
needs to touch the conductive tape we just glued down, so make sure
that tape isn’t covered completly by the copy paper, but it’s no problem
if it covers it partly.
Klebt nun ein weiteres Stück des leitfähigen Bands
auf - startet unter dem blauen Kabel des Vibration Buttons, führt es
dann nach unten, oben auf Euer Stück Kopierpapier und klebt es um die
Kante des Kopierpapiers und dort bis etwa zur
Hälfte vor dem Falz. Klebt dann ein kleines Stück des Tapes wieder oben
auf das Kabel.
Nehmt nun am besten einen Bonefolder und streift gut über
alle aufgeklebten Teile des leitfähigen Bands.
Now adhere another strip of the conductive tape -
start under the blue cable of the vibration button, across the card and
on top of the copy paper. Then fold it over and cut it at about halfway
into the flap on the copy paper. Then put
a small strip on top of the blue cable, too.
Take your bonefolder and
go over all the pieces of the conductive tape to press them down really good.
Als nächstes wird die Batterie eingelegt. Der
Pluspol - normalerweise die Oberseite der Knopfbatterie - muss Kontakt
mit dem leitfähigen Band haben, dass mit dem roten Kabel am Vibration
Button verbunden ist.
Jetzt ist Zeit für einen Funktionstest.
Drückt das Kopierpapierstück nach unten, so dass es die Batterie
berührt. Dadurch wird der Stromkreis geschlossen und der Knopf sollte
vibrieren.
Next it’s time to add the battery. The positive
side - usually the top of the battery - needs to touch the piece of
conductive tape, that’s connected to the red cable of the button.
Now it’s time to
give it a test run. Press the copy paper strip down
so the tape on its back touches the other side oft he battery. This
closes the circuit and the button should vibrate.
Klebt nun einige Stücke 3D Tape rund um die
Batterie, um sie an Ort und Stelle zu halten. Achtung, zieht den Schutz
der oberen Klebeseite nicht ab, sonst bleibt der Kartenhintergrund
darauf kleben!
Ich klebe außerdem gerne noch einen Streifen Tesa über die Stelle, an der die Kabel und das leitfähige Band zusammentreffen. Der Vibration Button bewegt sich beim Vibrieren ja ein wenig under Tesa sorgt dafür, dass sich nichts lösen kann.
Von hier ab gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten, den Shaker
in die Karte zu integrieren: oben auf dem Hintergrund oder darunter. Ich
mache das vom Motiv abhängig und was dazu gefühlt besser passt. Wenn
Ihr ihn oben auf dem Hintergrund aufliegen
haben möchtet, arbeitet Ihr wie folgt weiter:
Place a few pieces of foam tape around the battery
to keep it from moving. Don’t peel off the backing on the top so your
card background doesn’t stick to it!
I also like to put a piece of clear tape onto the area, where the cables and the conductive tape meet. The button moves when it's vibrating and the clear tape makes sure, that the pieces stay connected.
From here there are two ways to include your shaker
in your card: on top oft he background or under it. I simply do it however
it like it better on the card I’m working on or what works better with
the image I’m using. If you want to put it
on top of your background then go on like this:
Bringt rundum auf Eurem Kartenrohling 3D Tape auf,
ich nutze einseitig selbstklebendes Moosgummi. Je nachdem wie dick Euer
Tape ist, müsst Ihr es evtl. aufdoppeln, so wie ich es hier gemacht
habe. Außerdem habe ich ein Stückchen hinter
den Vibration Button gesetzt, so dass er etwas höher liegt und der
Shaker sich gut bewegen kann. Auch dieses Tapestück hinter dem Button wird nicht auf dem
Kartenrohling angeklebt!
Put foam tape all around your card base, I am
using selfadhesive fun foam (onesided) just because I have it here.
Depending on the thickness of your tape you might have to double it up,
just like I did here. Also place a small piece of
it behind the vibration button to bring it up a bit so the shaker will
be able to move freely. Again, don’t glued this small piece of foam to
your card base!
Klebt nun Euren Kartenhintergrund auf den
Kartenrohling. Ich mache an dieser Stelle immer nochmal einen
Funktionstest um sicherzugehen, dass alles funktioniert.
Now glue your background onto the card base. I like to give it a test run again now to make sure it’s still working properly.
Aus dem extra gestempelten Waschmaschinen-Fenster habe ich einen Shaker gebaut. Er besteht aus dem colorierten Fenster, den gestackten Ringen aus schwarzem Cardstock, einem Kreis aus Aceetate und obenauf dann der colorierte Ring.
Vor dem Aufkleben der Folie habe ich den Shaker mit kleinen weißen, hellblau-transparenten und etwas größeren irisirenden Perlen gefüllt. So sieht es aus wie Schaum in der Waschmaschine. Pailetten gehen hier bestimmt auch (ich habe das aber noch nicht getestet!), ich finde aber, die kleinen Perlen rollen wunderbar im Shaker herum und der Effekt, den die Vibration erzeugt, kommt so noch besser zur Geltung.
I created a shaker from the extra stamped and colored washing machine window, the stacked rings cut from black cardstock, a circle cut from acetate and on top the colored ring.
Before adhering the acetate I filled my shaker with tiny white, blue transparent and a bit larger iridescent beads. This looks like foam moving around in the washing machine. I am sure little sequins will work as well (I haven't tried that yet though!) but I think, those tiny beads roll around easily inside the shaker and make the effect those vibrations create better visible.
Entfernt die Schutzschicht vom Kleber des Buttons
und klebt Euren Shaker darauf. Wenn Ihr nun an die Stelle drückt, hinter
der sich Eure Batterie befindet, sollte der Shaker wackeln.
Remove the backing of the glue on the button and
stick your shaker to the button. When you press the spot on your
background, where the battery is placed behind, your shaker should move.
Wenn Ihr den Shaker unter dem Hintergrund Eurer
Karte möchtet, dann folgt den zuvor beschriebenen Schritten bis Euer
Schaltkreis fertiggestellt ist und arbeitet dann wie folgt weiter. Und
ja, ich habe hier für die Bilder meine erste Version
mit dem aufgesetzten Shaker nochmal auseinander genommen, das hat mir
hier mit der Waschmaschine eh besser gefallen.
If you want to put your shaker under the
background, then finish the circuit and go on with the following steps.
And yes, I did rip apart my card again after finishing the version with
the shaker on top of the background, with the washing
machine I liked it to be underneath better anyways.
Auch für diese Version wird 3D Tape rundum auf den
Kartenrohling geklebt, allerdings nicht hinter den Knopf. Und weil der
Shaker ja auch noch unter dem Hintergrund Platz haben muss - und er
sollte nicht vom Hintergrund heruntergedrückt
werden, sonst bewegt er sich nicht gut! - habe ich hier drei Lagen 3D
Tape aufeinander gesetzt. Das klingt viel, diese Version der Karte ist
aber nicht wirklich dicker als die erste Version, bei der zur
Kartendicke ja die Dicke des Shakers obenauf noch dazu
kommt. Diese Karte ist aber wohl sowieso keine, die man einfach so in einem Kuvert
verschickt….
Außerdem muss das Fenster im Hintergrund angepasst
werden. Schneidet so viel heraus, wie Ihr vom Shaker sichtbar haben
möchtet. Ich habe hier das komplette Fenster der Waschmaschine
herausgeschnitten und nur den schmalen Ring stehenlassen.
Also for this version you put foam tape onto your
card base, but not behind the button. And since the shaker needs to fit
under the background, too, - it should not be pressed down by the
background or it won’t move - I had to use three
layers of foam tape here. That sounds like much, but this version oft
he card isn’t any thicker than the first version, where the shaker is on
top and adds to the height. And this type of card isn’t any you’d ship
in an envelope anyway.
You also have to change the cut out in your
background for this version. Cut out everything you want your shaker to
be visible behind. I cut out the whole window of the washing machine
here, keeping only the small ring around it.
Hier habe ich außerdem noch ein Stück dünnes 3D
Tape oben auf das Kopierpapier des Schalters gesetzt - wieder wird die
Klebeschutzschicht oben nicht abgezogen, das Tape dient nur dazu, dass
man nicht so fest auf den Hintergrund drücken muss, um den Stromkreis
zu schließen. Je nachdem, wie weit die Batterie vom Shaker entfernt
ist, kann es sonst sein, dass der Hintergrund zu fest auf den Shaker
gedrückt wird und dieser nicht gut wackeln kann.
Klebt nun erst den Shaker auf den Button…
Here I also placed a small piece of thin foam tape
on top oft he copy paper that makes the switch - again leaving on the backing of the tape. on the top. This tape only makes sure that you don’t have to press too hard onto
your background to close the circuit. Depending
on how far away the battery is placed from the shaker, having to press
too hard might press the background too hard onto the shaker and keep it
from shaking nicely.
Now adhere your shaker to the button....
…und dann den Kartenhintergrund darüber.
Alles, was es jetzt noch zu tun gibt, ist die Karte zu dekorieren.
…and then the background on top.
All that’s left to do now is decorating your card.
Für meine Kartenhintergrund habe ich als Boden
einen der Sprawling Surfaces von SunnyStudio aufgestempelt, mit Distress
Ink Lost Shadow leicht gewischt und die Fugen zwischen den Fliesen mit
einem dunkelgrauen Marker gefüllt.
Die Wand ist mit einem Mauer-Stencil und hellblauer
Tinte gemacht. Ich habe die Tinte bewusst fleckig aufgetragen, so
wirken die Fliesen nicht so einheitlich. Mit aufgelegtem Stencil habe
ich dann etwas mit Wasser verdünnte Distress Ink
Ground Espresso aufgespritzt. Außerdem hatte ich im unteren Bereich
getestet, ob eine Art Rahmen mit einem hellgrauen Fineliner auf jeder
Fliese gut aussehen würde. Mir hat das nicht gefallen. Die Stellen, an
denen ich es getestet habe, werden später von den
Motive überdeckt.
For my background I stamped one of the Sprawling
Surfaces by SunnyStudio onto a piece of white cardstock, inked it
lightly with Distress Ink Lost Shadow and filled the joints between the
tiles with a dark grey marker.
The wall is made with a brick stencil and light
blue ink. I applied the ink a bit splotchy to make each tile look slightly
different. With the stencil still in place I added some fine splatters
of Distress Ink Ground Espresso. I also had
tested on the bottom if I wanted some kind of frame on each tile and
drew them on with a light grey fineliner. But I didn’t like that,
luckily the areas that I tested it on will be covered with images later.
Im Mittelpunkt der Karte steht natürlich die
Waschmaschine aus dem Set Loads of Fun von LawnFawn. Aus diesem Set sind
auch die T-Shirts, der Wäschekorb und die Waschmittelbox. Alle Motive
sind mit Copics coloriert. Und dann brauchte die
Karte natürlich noch ein paar Mäuse. Und ganz ehrlich - ich wünschte,
ein Waschtag wäre bei mir mal so spaßig! Die Maus, die es sich auf der
weißen Wäsche gemütlich macht, sowie die Maus, die hinter der dunklen
Wäsche hervorspringt, sind beide aus dem Set
You Autumn Know.
Ganz unten auf der Karte habe ich auch meinen Text
untergebracht. Der ist ebenfalls aus dem Set Loads of Fun. Eigentlich
lautet die erste Zeile „I hope your birthday is“, da ich es aber etwas
eigenartig fand, jemandem zum Geburtstag Wäscheberge
zu wünschen, habe ich das „birth“ beim Abstempeln abgedeckt, so dass
der Text nun „I hope your day is loads of fun“ lautet. Beide Texte sind
mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.
Main focus on my card is the washing machine from
Loads of Fun by LawnFawn. The shirts, laundry basket and detergent are
from this set as well. I colored all images with Copics. And then this
card definately needed some mice! Honestly -
I really wish laundry day would just once be as much fun for me! The
mouse laying on the white laundry and the one peeking out from behind
the black one are both from You Autumn Know.
At the bottom of the card I also placed my text,
that’s also from Loads of Fun. The first line originally reads „I hope
your birthday is“ but I really didn’t want to wish anyone loads of
laundry for their birthday. So I covered the „birth“
when stamping the text and now it just reads „I hope your day is loads
of fun“. Both texts are white heat embossed onto black cardstock.
Oben habe ich, wie Ihr schon auf den Bildern für
die Anleitung gesehen habt, frisch gewaschene Shirts aufgehängt.
Dahinter habe ich ein Stück weißes Twine auf den Hintergrund geklebt und
dann an jedem Shirt zwei Wäscheklammern aus dem Set
Little Bundle angklebt. Von der Wäscheleine hängt auch eine Maus aus
dem Set Really High Five.
Und oben auf der Waschmaschine sitzt eine weitere
Maus, diesmal aus dem Set Bubbles of Joy, die fröhlich Seifenblasen
pustet. Ich glaube, sie hat ein wenig Waschmittel gekostet…. Die Linien
der Seifenblasen habe ich mit hellblauer Tinte
gestempelt und sie nach dem Colorieren in schillernden Regenbogenfarben
mit Glossy Accents überzogen.
As you’ve already seen in the pictures for the
tutorial I’ve hung some fresh washed shirts across the top of my
background. I put a piece of white twine behind the shirts and then
added two cloth pins from Little Bundle to each. There’s
also a mouse from Really High Five dangling down from the cloth line.
And on top of the washing machine there’s sitting another
mouse, blowing soap bubbles out of her mouth. Seems like she
tasted some of the detergent…. I stamped the outlines of the soap bubbles
with light blue ink and, after coloring them
in shiny rainbow colors, covered them with Glossy Accents.
Hier könnt Ihr sehen, wie dick die Karte ist. Ich
habe dann auch nur hinter den Wäschekorb vorne links, hinter dem sich
auch die Batterie und der „Knopf“ befinden, etwas dünnes 3D Tape
gesetzt.
Here you can see, how thick the card turned out. I
put some thin foam tape only behind the laundry basket on the left,
under which is my battery.
Ich hoffe, das Tutorial hilft Euch Eure eigene "Shaker Card für Faule" zu machen!
