Man sollte ja meinen, dass Gespenster nicht wirklich altern. Meine Karte heute ist der Beweis, dass das nicht stimmt. Der Geist auf meiner Karte fühlt sich auf jeden Fall zu alt, um spukend herumzuschweben und Menschen zu erschrecken. Aber er hat schon adequaten Ersatz gefunden....
Diese Karte ist, wie Ihr sicherlich schon vermutet habt, wieder für das Halloweeners Team von WhimsyStamps entstanden.

You really should think, that ghosts don't get older. My card today is proff, that we're all wrong here. The ghost on my card feels way too old to spook around and scare people. But he really found a very good replacement...
This card, you might already have guessed it, is another one I made for the Halloweeners Team by WhimsyStamps.
Hier habe ich den Hintergrund mal mit Stempelfarbe geblendet. Dafür habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Oxide Speckled Egg, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire und Black Soot gewischt. Dann habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe als Sterne aufgespritzt.
Here I did ink blending to create my sky. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Speckled Egg, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. Then I splattered white acrylic paint onto the cardstock to create some stars.
Der Mond besteht aus einem extra Stück Cardstock, den ich einfach mit einem großen Handstanzer ausgestanzt habe. Dann habe ich ihn mit Distress Ink Speckled Egg und Weathered Wood etwas fleckig gewischt. Nun, irgendwie sah das nicht nach Mond aus. Also habe ich noch farblich passende Copics verwendet um den Schatten stärker hervorzuheben und außerdem ein paar Krater aufzumalen.
Den Mond habe ich mittig auf den oberen Teil der Karte geklebt und dann die Fledermaus aus dem Set Going Batty aufgeklebt. Ich habe sie in Lila- und Blautönen coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten.
Hinter der Fledermaus - und an weiteren Stellen auf der Karte - habe ich Nebelschwaden aus Vellum aufgeklebt. Ich habe einfach feine Streifen von einem Bogen Vellum abgerissen - das sorgt für tolle Kanten, perfekt für Nebel.
The moon is made from a different piece of cardstock, that I simply punched out with a large circle punch. I inked it with Distress Ink Speckled Egg and Weathered Wood, not blending the ink completly but leaving the moon a bit splotchy. Well, that didn't really look like a moon. So I picked some Copics in matching colors and used them, to make the shadow around the edge a bit deeper and also add some simply craters.
I adhered the moon in the upper center of my sky and then added the little bat from Going Batty. I colored her in puple and blue and cut her out with my scissors.
Behind the bat - and also on a few other places on my card - I added some fog, made from vellum. I simply tore thin strips out of the vellum, the tearing adds wonderful edges, perfect for fog.
Im unteren Bereich der Karte habe ich erst eine Skyline und davor einen Weg aufgeklebt. Beides ist mit Stanzen aus dem Slimline Cityscapes Set gemacht - die Häuser aus dunkelblauem Cardstock, der Weg aus lilafarbenem Vellum. Ich habe beides auf den Hintergrund geklebt und über dem Weg ein paar schreiend davonlaufende Menschen aufgeklebt. Die gruseln sich mal so richtig vor der Fledermaus. Kann ich gar nicht verstehen, sie ist doch eigentlich echt süß! Aber ihren Job macht sie auf jeden Fall mehr als gut. Die Menschen sind mit dem Running Scared Stanzenset aus schwarzem Cardstock gemacht. Eigentlich laufen sie in die andere Richtung, ich wollte aber, dass sie vor der Fledermaus fliehen. Also habe ich die ausgestanzten Teile einfach aufs Gesicht gelegt.
Und ganz unten auf der Karte ist der Geist, der einfach die Nase voll hat vom Spuken. Ob er die Flasche in seiner Hand geleert hat, um nicht Spuken zu müssen, oder einfach aus Frust, kann ich jetzt auch nicht sagen.... Auf jeden Fall hängt er ziemlich schlaff über einem Grabstein. Das Motiv ist aus dem Set Hey Boo und ebenfalls mit Copics coloriert. Dabei habe ich ihn ein wenig transparent aussehen lassen.
Als optische Trennung zwischen dem Weg und dem Geist habe ich eine Reihe Büsche aufgeklebt und hinter dem Geist befindet sich noch ein Baum. Beides - und auch die Grasbüschel am Grabstein - sind aus dem Slimline Meadow Set und aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt. Den Baum habe ich dabei per Partial Diecutting etwas verlängert, so dass er bis zum oberen Rand der Karte reicht. Die Ränder habe ich ein wenig mit Distress Oxide Speckled Egg betupft.
In the lower half of the card I first adhered a city skyline and a street. Both is made using dies from Slimline Cityscapes - the houses from dark blue cardstock, the street from purple vellum. I adhered both to the background and then added some people, running screaming on said street. They are really scared by this bat. I can not really understand it, because I think it's really cute. But at least it makes an amazing job. Those people I cut using the Running Scared set and cut them from black cardstock. Originally they run the other way but I really wanted them to run from the bat so I simply turned the die cuts onto the faces.
And at the very bottom of my card there's the ghost, that's just fed up of spooking around. I really can't tell if he emptied the bottle in his hand to not be able to spook or if he drank it just out of despair. But he really seems to have a hangover - literally. This image is from Hey Boo and again colored with Copics. I made him appear a bit transparent with my coloring.
As another layer between the street and the ghost image I added some bushes and there's also a tall tree behind the ghosts. Both, and also the grass I adhered to the bottom of the gravestone, I die cut from black cardstock using the Slimline Meadow die set. I did some partial diecutting to make the tree a bit taller so he reaches all the way up to the top edge of my scene. I dabbed some Distress Oxide Speckled Egg onto the edges of those black die cuts.
Nach dem Zusammenkleben der Szene, wofür ich wieder 3D Tape benutzt habe, fehlte noch ein Text. Ich habe zweimal das Wort "eek" sowie das Wort "Boo", beides aus dem Set Going Batty, mit schwarzer Tinte direkt auf über denn fliehenden Menschen bzw. der Fledermaus auf den Himmel gestempelt.
Der Text neben dem Geist ist aus dem Set Hey Boo und weiß auf die Buschlage meiner Karte embosst. Eigentlich steht da noch ein "sheet" hinter dem Wort "this" und der Text ist dreizeilig. Ich wollte aber unbedingt einen einzeiligen Text - der dann aber zu lang war, um auch das "sheet" noch unterzubringen - und habe deswegen den Stempel einfach in drei Teile geschnitten.
Die Flasche in der Hand des Geistes habe ich mit Glossy Accents überzogen und dann den dekorierten Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
After putting the scene together, and of course I used foam tape for that, my card was only missing the text. I stamped the word "eek" twice and the word "boo", both from Going Batty, directly onto the sky using black ink, placing the texts above the running people and the bat.
The text next to the ghost is from Hey Boo and white heat embossed onto the bush layer of my card. Originally there's a "sheet" at the end of this sentence, and the text has three lines. I really wanted just one line for this card - and this one line turned out to be too long to also include the word "sheet" - so I simply cut the stamp into three pieces.
I covered the bottle in the ghost's hand with Glossy Accents and then glued the card panel to a white note card.
