In Zeiten von Social Distancing kann man sich nicht einfach so besuchen. Klar kann man telefonieren, skypen etc. Es geht aber auch kreativer - so wie auf meiner Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stamping-Fairies Blog zeige.

In times of social distancing you can't just go visit a friend. Of course there are phones, skyping etc. But some get even more creative - like the critters on this card that I'm sharing over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today.
Wieder mal ist die Karte von der Grundidee her nach einem Video von Jennifer McGuire entstanden. Es ist eine Trifold Card mit eingebautem Fenster.
Auf der Vorderseite habe ich mit der Brick Wall Stencil von MFT und Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass ein Mauermuster in hellblau aufgewischt. Für eine "Tapete" wäre die Fläche zu klein gewesen. Und da, wie man beim Blick aus dem Fenster sieht, das Haus ein altes Bauernhaus ist, waren die Bewohner kreativ und haben die alte Mauer einfach blau gestrichen. Damit die Fugen nicht so hart sind, habe ich nach dem Aufwischen der Mauer nochmal ganz leicht über den kompletten Cardstock gewischt, um die Fugen auch ein wenig einzufärben.
Ein so großes Fenster, wie ich es hier gerne wollte, hatte ich nicht als Stanze. Also habe ich die Square Trio Shaker Window Stanze von MFT zweimal nebeneinander aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und den dann drumherum zum Fenster zugeschnitten. Hinter dem Fenster befindet sich eine Lage Folie, damit das Fenster realistischer wirkt.
Die süße Katze, die aus dem Fenster schaut, ist aus dem Purrfect Friends Stempelset.
Und wieder mal kamen die Vorhänge aus dem Take the Stage Stanzenset zum Einsatz. Ich finde es so schade, dass das retired ist. Ich habe sie aus dunkelblauem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics ein paar Schatten hinzugefügt.
Again this card was made after seeing a video by Jennifer McGuire. It's a trifold card with an included window.
On the front I've used the Brick Wall stencil by MFT and Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass to add a brick pattern to a piece of white cardstock. There wasn't enough room to create a wall paper. But as you can see by the view out of the window this is an old farm house. The people living there got creative and painted the old brick wall in a light blue. To make the flees not too prominent I've added a very light coat of ink over the whole piece of cardstock after adding the bricks.
I didn't have a window die big enough for my taste. So I've simply taken the Square Trio Shaker Window die by MFT and die cut it twice from white cardstock. Then I've trimmed the paper around it to create the window. Behind the window there's a layer of acetate to make the window look even more realistic.
The cute cat sitting on the window sill is from the Purrfect Friends stamp set.
And once again I've used the curtains from the Take the Stage die set. I think it really is a shame that it is retired. I've die cut it from dark blue cardstock and added some shading with my Copics.
Die Lage mit dem Fenster lässt sich nach oben wegklappen und gibt den Blick auf die komplette Szene dahinter frei. Und wer genau schaut, der sieht, dass ich der Katze auf dieser Seite ebenfalls ein Gesicht gegeben habe. Im gleich Stempelset ist eine Katze von vorne abgebildet, die fast genau die selbe Größe hat wie die von hinten abgebildete. Deren Kopf habe ich ebenfalls coloriert, ausgeschnitten und vor dem Aufkleben auf die Karte auf die Rückseite der Katze geklebt. So sieht man die durchgebluteten Farben auf der Rückseite nicht und die Karte sieht auch von dieser Seite schön aus. Außerdem habe ich hier nochmal einFenster von innen gegen die Karte geklebt.
The layer with the window can be opened to the top and gives view to the whole scene behind it. And if you look close, you can see that the cat also has a face on this side. In the stamp set with the cat seen from behind is also one seen from the front and this one has nearly the exact same size. So I've stamped this one as well, cut out the face and glued it to the back of the other cat before glueing it down on the card. It covers the bleeding through the paper of the Copics and the card looks nice on this side as well. I've also added another window, made the same way as the one on the outside, to the inside of the card.
Und so sieht die Szene aus. Fuchs und Igel haben sich einfach ins Flugzeug gesetzt und fliegen am Haus Ihrer Freund vorbei, um mal hallo zu sagen. Naja, zumindest zu winken.
Für die Szene habe ich den Himmel mit Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass und Salty Ocean gewischt. Die Hügel sind aus dem Stempelset Scene Builder, ebenso zwei der Wolken. Die anderen beiden Wolken sowie das Flugzeug sind im Stempelset Sky High enthalten. Coloriert habe ich mit Copics.
Den Text habe ich nach dem Gestalten der Scene mit weißem Embossingpulver aufembosst. Da ich keinen passenden Text hatte, habe ich diesen hier mit einer Kombi aus einem Stempel aus dem Here Comes Santa Claus Set und dem Polar Bear Pals zusammengesetzt.
So, und wer jetzt weder über eine Fluglizenz noch über ein Flugzeug verfügt: auch eine Karte zu verschicken ist natürlich eine tolle Idee, um hallo zu sagen! ;)
And this is the complete scene. Fox and hedgehog simply sat in their plane, flying by a friend's house waving hello.
For the scene I've created the sky with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean.
The hills are from the Scene Builder stamp set, as are two of the clouds. The other two and the plane are from the Sky High stamp set. Coloring was done with Copics.
After finishing the scene I've white heat embossed the text onto the card. I couldn't find one combining flying and waving so I've simply combined parts of two stamps to create the flying by waving hi. The stamps are from the Here Comes Santa Claus and the Polar Bear Pals stamp sets.
Well, and if you neither have a flight license nor a plane: also sending a card to a friend is a great way to say hello! ;)
