Mal wieder relativ knapp zum Ende der LawnFawnatics Challenge #104 habe ich meine Karte fertig bekommen. Das Thema lautet "summertime fun". Und das ist mir dazu eingefallen. Als ich ein Kind war und die Schule im Sommer kurz, hat meine Mutter meinen Bruder, mich und ein paar Freunde sehr oft mittags abgeholt und ist mit uns an einen See oder ins Freibad gefahren. Dort haben wir dann den ganzen Tag im Wasser verbracht und wären am liebsten gar nicht mehr nach Hause. Aber ganz zum Schluss gab es immer ein Eis für jeden, das hat uns dann doch aus dem Wasser gelockt. Okay, es war vielleicht nicht unbedingt so ein großer Eisebecher, wie ihn sich die Mäuse auf meiner Karte gerade teilen, aber die lassen es sich eben besonders gut gehen. Diese Kindheitserinnerung hat mich zu dieser Karte inspiriert.

Once again quite short before the deadline of the LawnFawnatics Challenge #104 I finished my card. The theme is "summertime fun". And that's what I came up with. When I was a kid and school days were short during summer, my mom often picked my brother, me and a few friends up after school and drove with us to a near lake or a pool. There we played all day in the water and wouldn't have gotten out of it if there wouldn't have been an ice cream waiting for us every evening. Well, it wasn't such a big cup like those mice on my card are sharing but it seems like they are just having an extra good time. This childhood memory inspired me to this card.
Ich habe hier einige Hintergrund kombiniert, um meine Szene zu werkeln. Ganz im Hintergrund befindet sich der Sunburst Backdrop, gestanzt aus weißem Cardstock und dann mit Distress Oxide Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves und Chipped Sapphire einngefärbt. Dann habe ich ein wenig Wasser darüber gesprenkelt.
Die nächste Lage ist mit der Bayou Backdrop Stanze gemacht. Ich habe den Rahmen aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und dann die herabängenden Blätter/Ranken mit Distress Ink Rustic Wilderness eingefärbt. Das Gras für den Hintergrund habe ich per Hand zugeschnitten und ebenfalls mit Rustic Wilderness gewischt.
Der See ist ebenfalls aus dem Bayou Backdrop Stanzenset. Ich habe ihn aus blauem Cardstock gestanzt und mit den Distress Oxides, die ich für den Hintergrund verwendet habe, das Wasser sonnuntergang-mäßig eingefärbt. Mit einem weißen Gelmarker habe ich ein paar Reflektionen auf das Wasser gemalt. An den Uferrand habe ich ein paar Rohrkolben gepflanzt, ebenfalls aus dem Bayou Backdrop Stanzenset.
Der Baum ist mit der Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop Stanze gemacht - die anderen beiden Bäume habe ich einfach weggeschnitten. Ich habe ihn aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Distress Oxide Ground Espresso schattiert und mit einem weißen Gelpen ein paar Highlights hinzugemalt.
Davor kam dann eine Lage Gras, die ich mit Mowed Lawn gewischt habe, ebenso die Blätter am Baum, die ich mit einer der Wolken-Bordürenstanzen gemacht habe.
Über alle Teile habe ich schimmernde Wasserfarbe gespritzt - grün, schwarz, gold und auf die Blätterranken und das Laub eine Mischung aus grün und gold, da mir hier der Grünton nicht gefallen hat. Die Farben habe ich einfach zusammengerührt, bis mir der Farbton gefallen hat.
Der Text ist aus einem der Reveal Wheel Sentiments Set und aus zwei Stempeln zusammengesetzt. Ich habe ihn weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und oben links auf die Szene geklebt.
Und als ich gerade meinte, die Karte sei fertig, kam meine Bestellung aus dem neuen Release. Und so habe ich zumindest noch ein paar Hibiskusblüten aus dem Magic Iris Tropical Leaves Add-On in die unteren Ecken der Karte geklebt. Die habe ich aus hell-rosafarbenem Carstock gestanzt, mit dunkelpinkem Cardstock hinterlegt und die Blütenmitte mit gelb-orangenem Cardstock gestaltet.
Hier I combined a few background dies to create this scene. In the background I used the Sunburst Backdrop, die cut from white carstock and then inked up with Distress Oxide Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire. Then I added a few droplets of water.
The next layer is made with the Bayou Backdrop die. I've die cut the frame from green carstock and then inked up the leaves/vines with Distress Ink Rustic Wilderness. The grassy hill is cut by hand and also shaded with Rustic Wilderness.
The lake, also from the Bayou Backdrop die set ist die cut from blue cardstock, then I used the Distress Oxide colors that I used for the sky to ink up the water sundown-like. The reflections are added with a white gel pen. To the edge of the lake I planted a few cattails, also made with a die from the Bayou Backdop set.
The tree is made with the Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop - I simply cut out the other two trees. I've die cut it from brown cardstock, shaded it with Distress Oxide Ground Espresso and added some soft lines with a white gel pen as details.
In the foreground I put a layer of grass, that I inked up with Mowed Lawn. I used the same color for the leaves on the tree that I simply made using a cloud border die.
Over all the pieces I sprinkled some metallic watercolor - green, black, gold and for the vines and the leaves on the trees I mixed some gold and green. The green I had didn't fit so I simply mixed the gold and green until I liked the color.
The text is made with two stamps from one of the Reveal Wheel Sentiments stamp sets. I've white heat embossed them onto a strip of black cardstok and glued it to the top right corner of my scene.
And just when I thought my card was finished my order from the new release came in. So I used the hibiscus flowers from the Magic Iris Tropical Leaves Add-On die set and glued them to the bottom corners of the card. I've die cut the flowers from light pink cardstock, the centers from dark pink cardstock and used an orange-y yellow for the stems (is this what these are called).
Und hier sind die beiden süßen Mäuse, die sich ihren Eis-Shake schmecken lassen. Die Mäuse sind aus den Stempelsets Dandy Day und Dandy Day Flip-Flop. Ich habe sie jeweils auf einen Pilz aus dem Set Oh Gnome gestellt, damit sie eine Chance haben, die Strohhalme zu erreichen.
Der leckere Shake ist aus dem Set Here's the Scoop. Die Enden der Strohhalme habe ich jeweils nochmal um 90° Grad gedreht ans eigentliche Ende der Strohhalme gestempelt, damit sie schön gebogen sind. Das Schirmchen, das im Shake steckt, ist aus dem Set On the Beach.
Coloriert habe ich die Motive mit Copics und sie nach dem Ausschneiden hinter das Gras geklebt.
And here are the two cute mice that are enjoying their ice cream shake. The mice are from the stamp sets Dandy Day and Dandy Day Flip-Flop. I put them onto some mushrooms from the Oh Gnome stamp set, so they have a chance to reach the paper straws.
The yummy looking shake is from the Here's the Scoop stamp set. I stamped the ends of the paper straws again in a 90° degree angle to make them bended. The little umbrella is from the On the Beach stamp set.
I colored the images with Copics and after cutting them out I glued them behind the grass.
