Auf dem LawnFawnatics Challenge Blog gibt es eine neue Challenge, das Thema lautet diesmal: "make the sentiment the star". Okay, ich habe das mit dem Star vielleicht ein wenig wörtlich genommen, aber das hier war die erste Idee, die mir in den Sinn kam. Undich mag das Ergebnis sehr.

The new challenge started over at the LawnFawnatics Challenge blog, and the new theme is "make the seniment the star". Well, maybe I took that "make it the star" a bit too literally, but this was the first idea that popped up in my head. And I really like the outcome.
Ich habe hier mit dem Hintergrund und Text begonnen, die Szene drumherum ist dann während des Bastelns entstanden. Eigentlich hätte mir auch ein Rahmen um die Szene noch gut gefallen, aber blöderweise hatte ich meinen Hintergrund aus Gewohnheit passend für das deutsche A6 zugeschnitten, die Rahmenstanzen sind aber alle im amerikanischen A2 Format. Das deutsche Format ist ja breiter und niedriger, so dass das leider nicht mehr geklappt hat. Also habe ich den Hintergrund einfach schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
Für den Hintergrund habe ich weißen Cardstock mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina - unter den Buchstaben -, Chipped Sapphire und Black Soot gewischt. Dann habe ich etwas mit Wasser vermischten StazOn Schimmer Nachfüller und silberne Metallic-Watercolor auf den Hintergrund gespritzt.
I started with my background and text here, the scene around it just happened while I was creating the card. I would have loved a frame around my scene, but just out of habit I had cut my paper matching the german A6 size, but all the frame dies are american A2. The german size is wider and narrower in height, so that didn't work out. Instead I matted my background with black cardstock and glued it onto a white note card.
For the background I've inked up some white cardstock with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina - just under the letters -, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. Then I spritzed some StazOn Shimmer re-ink mixed with water and some silver metallic watercolor onto the background.
Hier ist der wortwörliche Star meiner Karte: der Text. Ich habe die Quinn's Capital ABCs Stempel für das Wort Magic verwendet. Die habe ich auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt, mit Copics coloriert, direkt entlang der Stempellinien ausgeschnitten und auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Mit weißem und silberfarbenem Gelpen habe ich die Glitzerpunkte auf und rund um die Buchstaben aufgemalt. Und damit sie noch leuchtender aussehen, habe ich die schwarzen Stempellinien ebenfalls mit dem weißen Gelpen nachgemalt.
Für den Rest des Textes habe ich einige Stempel kombiniert: das believe in ist aus dem Set Believe in Yourself, das the und das christmas aus dem Set Tiny Christmas und für das of habe ich einen Teil eines Stempels aus dem Set Special Delivery verwendet - die sind alle in der gleichen Schriftart und -größe. Ich habe sie weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und über bzw. unter dem Wort magic aufgeklebt.
Oben am Himmel durfte natürlich Santa nicht fehlen. Der ist aus dem Set Ready, Set, Snow und direkt mit schwarzem Embossingpulver auf den Hintergrund embosst.
Here's the "star" of my card: the text, and I kind of wanted it to look like a glowing star. I used the Quinn's Capital ABCs stamp set for the word magic. I stamped the letters onto white cardstock, colored them with Copics, cut them out directly at the stamped lines and glued them onto my background. With a white and a silver gel pen I added a lot of dots onto and around the letters to make them look like glitter. And to make the letters look even more glowing I used the white gel pen again to cover the black stamped lines.
For the rest of the text I combined a few different stamps and stamp sets: the believe in is from the Believe in Yourself set, the words the and christmas are from the Tiny Christmas set and for the word of I used a part of a stamp from the Special Delivery stamp sets. All those words are stamps made using the same font and font size. I white heat embossed them onto black cardstock and glued them above and under the word magic.
Of course I needed Santa to fly through the night. He's from the Ready, Set, Snow stamp set and directly heat embossed onto the background with black embossing powder.
Für die Szene im unteren Teil der Karte habe ich einen der Winterhügel aus dem Over the Mountain Borders Stempelset verwendet und im Hintergrund aufgeklebt.
Rechts und links habe ich jeweils einen Birke, gestanzt mit dem Birch Trees Stanzenset, mit 3D Tape auf die Szene geklebt. Ich wollte nicht, dass meine beiden Mäuse so auf dem freien Feld sitzen.
Die Mäuse sind aus dem Set Happy Hugs und sitzen auf einem weiteren Schneehügel. Dafür habe ich eine der Simple Stitched Hillside Borders aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und nicht den Hügel an sich, sondern das Negativ davon verwendet.
Ich habe alle Motive mit Copics coloriert und auf den Hügeln die Schatten der Bäume und Mäuse mit aufgemalt. Außerdem wollte ich, dass das "magic" sich im Schnee wiederspiegel. Deswegen habe ich die Buchstaben ganz grob mit sehr hellem Blau-Grün in den Schnee getupft und ebenfalls weiße Glitzerpunkte dort hinzugemalt. Auf die gleiche Weise habe ich auch die Glitzer-Reflektionen an den Tannenbäumen, Birken und Mäusen gemacht.
For the scene in the lower part of my card I used one of the snowy hills from the Over the Mountain Borders stamp set and glued it onto the background.
On the left and right side I added a birch tree, glued onto the scene with foam tape. I didn't want my mice to sit somewhere on an open field.
The mice are from the Happy Hugs stamp set and are sitting on another snowy hill. I've die cut one of the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders from white cardstock but didn't use the actual stitched hill die cut but its negative.
I colored all images with Copics and also added the shadows of the trees, birch trees and mice onto the snow. I also wanted the "magic" to be reflected in the snow. So I used a very light blue-green marker to roughly sketch them into the snow, then added some glitter dots with a white gel pen again. The same way I added the reflections to the birches, trees and mice.
Ganz zum Schluss habe ich noch Stickles in Crystal auf der Karte verteilt: auf den Buchstaben, auf dem Glitzer drumherum und auch in den Reflektionen im Schnee und auf den Bäumen. Dabei habe ich den Glitzer nur stellenweise und nich vollflächig aufgetragen. Ich hoffe, man kann das Glitzern auf dem Bild hier ganz gut erkennen.
In the end I added some Crystal Stickles to my card: onto the letters, onto the glitter around them and also onto the reflections in the snow and on the trees. I made sure to only add it to some areas and not all over them. I think, you get a pretty good look at the glitter on the picture above.
