Hello Sunshine

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Es ist heiß... Nein, ich beschwere mich nicht - ich bin ein Mensch, der immer friert und so jede Hitze einem kühlen Tag vorzieht (und T-Shirts gibt es bei mir erst ab mindestens 25 Grad).  Aber ich habe doch festgestellt, dass bei den momentanen Temperaturen doch alles etwas langsamer geht. Auch das Basteln! Und so ist diese Karte dann auch etwas einfacher ausgefallen, als ich eigentlich geplant hatte. Ein kleines Special ist trotzdem eingebaut:

It's hot... And no, I am not complaining - I am someone who's cold all the time and so I prefer high temperatures, no matter how high, to any cool day (and I am not wearing t-shirts under 25 degrees).  But I have realized, that with the temperatures we're having right now, everything takes a bit more time. Also crafting! And so this card turned out a bit simpler than I had planned. But I still have included a little special:

 

 Die Strahlen rund um die Sonne sind drehbar. Ideengeber war hier, mal wieder, Jennifer McGuire, die eine Karte mit einer drehbaren Sonne, die sie offenbar bei einem Spellbinders-Event erkläkrt hatte, kurz in einem Video Ende Juni gezeigt hatte. 

Ich hatte eine bestimmte Sonne im Sinn, konnte aber nur eine einzige Stanze in der Art finden und die passte von der Größe her überhaupt nicht. Also habe ich das Innenteil eines nach innen gewellten Kreises genommen und als Basislage für meine Sonne benutzt, die oberste Lage besteht einfach aus einem Kreis aus hellgelbem Cardstock. Dazwischen befindet sich eine aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzte Sonne. Ich habe alle Teile leicht mit Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade und Wild Honey gewischt und auf den Kreis ein Gesicht aufgeklebt. Das stammt aus dem Mushrooms Set von LawnFawn. 

Auf die unterste Sonnenlage habe ich dann eine Unterlegscheibe geklebt und in die Sonne mit den Strahlen mittig ein Loch geschnitten, das minimal größer ist als die Unterlegscheibe. Dann habe ich die Sonne darüber-/drumherumgelegt und anschließend den Kreis mit Gesicht oben auf die Unterlegscheibe geklebt So lässt sich der Strahlenkranz ganz einfach drehen.

 

The rays around the sun are turnable. Once again Jennifer McGuire inspired me here, in a video end of june she shortly showed a card with a turnable sun, that she teached in a recent Spellbinders event. 

I had a special sun in mind but was able to find only one single die like that - and that didn't have the right size. So I used the inner piece of an inverted scalloped circle as the base for my sun, the top layer is simply made from a die cut circle, cut from light yellow cardstock. Inbetween those two layers there's a sun, that I cut from yellow cardstock. I inked all the pieces lightly with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey and glued a face onto the circle. I made that using a die from the mushroom set by LawnFawen.

I glued a washer onto the bottom layer of the sun and cut a hole into the sun with the rays, making it slightly larger than the washer. I put the sun with the hole on top/over the washer and then glued the circle with the face on top of the washer. Now the sun with the rays can be turned easily.

 

 Der Hintergrund der Karte besteht aus weißem Cardstock, den ich mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China und Salty Ocean gewischt habe. Dabei habe ich den hellsten Bereich dort gestaltet, wo ich später die Sonne aufgeklebt habe.

Auf den Hintergrund habe ich erst einige Wassertropfen und dann gelb-goldene Metallic-Watercolor gespritzt. Die goldene Farbe habe ich dabei hauptsächlich auf den hellen Bereich gespritzt und im dunkleren Bereich nur ein klein wenig.

Dann habe ich noch drei Wölkchen, gemacht mit Stanzen von MFT, auf den Himmel geklebt.

 

The background of my card is made from white cardstock, that I inked with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China and Salty Ocean. I created the lightest area where I wanted to adhere my sun later. 

First I splattered some water, then yellow-gold metallic watercolor onto the background. I did the gold color mainly onto the light area of the background and only applied a bit in the darker area.

Then I glued three little clouds, made using dies by MFT, onto the sky.

 

 Unten quer über die Karte habe ich meinen Text geklebt. Und damit der nicht in der Luft schwebt, habe ich zuvor zwei Lagen Sand angebracht. Den habe ich mit einer der Stitched Simple Waves Borders von LawnFawn aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Ditress Ink Scorched Timber schattiert. Dann habe ich noch feine Spritzer weißer Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Das Hello und das Sunshine sind jeweils mit Stanzen von MFT gemacht. Ich habe jedes Wort zweimal aus weißem Cardstock, das Wort sunshine zusätzlich einmal aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt. Dieses gelbe Wort habe ich wieder mit Wild Honey von unten her schattiert. Dann habe ich beides auf die hintere Sandlage geklebt.

 

Across the bottom of the card I adhered my text. To make sure it's not floating in the air I first created two layers of sand. I cut those from brown cardstock using one of the Stitched Simple Waves Borders by LawnFawn and lightly inked them with Distress Ink Scorched Timber. Then I added some fine splatter of white acrylic paint.

The words hello and sunshine are both made using dies by MFT. I cut each word twice from white cardstock, the word sunshine also once from yellow cardstock. I inked the bottom of this yellow word with some Wild Honey. Then I glued both words of the taller layer of sand.

 

 Und ein kleines Motiv brauchte meine Karte dann doch noch - alle sind von LawnFawn, mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten.

Ich habe den Sonnenschirm aus dem Set On the Beach genommen und auf das I des Worts sunshine geklebt. Unter dem Sonnenschirm liegt der kleine Bär aus Den Sweet Den und genießt den Schatten. Über ihm schwebt eine Sprechblase mit einem hineingestempelten stay cool, beides aus dem Set Pool Party. Zum Schluss habe ich noch einige Muscheln, ebenfalls aus On the Beach, zwischen/hinter die Sandlagen geschoben.

 

And then my card needed at least a small image - all elements are by LawnFawn, colored with Copics and cut out with my scissors.

I took the umbrella from On the Beach and glued it onto the I of the word sunhine. In the sand under the umbrella there's the little bear from Den Sweet Den, enjoying the shadow. I put a speechbubble with a stay cool stamped into it, both from Pool Party. And in the end I tucked some seashells, again from On the Beach, between/behind the sand layers.

 

 Die obere Sandlage samt Bär und Sonnenschirm habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Auf die Strahlen der Sonne sowie den oberen Bereich des Wortes sunshine habe ich Stickles aufgetragen und also Deko noch einige rote Herzen auf die Sonne sowie auf und um den Sonnenschirm aufgeklebt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the top sand layer with the bear and the umbrella with thin foam tape onto the background.

 I applied Stickles to the sunrays and the top half of the word sunshine, then added some red clay hearts to the sun and on/around the umbrella.

Then I put the card panel onto a white note card.

 

LawnFawnatics Challenge #200

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Für die Challenge #200 hat das Team von LawnFawnatics "celebrating friendship" als Thema  ausgewählt. Ich finde, das passt super zum Thema Stempeln, denn dieses Hobby bringt so viele von überall auf der Welt zusammen...

Ich wollte unbedingt die kleine Garnele mit dem "you're shrimply the best" Text benutzen, und so ist diese Karte voller Meeres-Freunde entstanden.

For their challenge #200 the team of LawnFawnatics picked "celebrating friendship" as the theme. I think it's a great one for this milestone challenge because stamping connects so many people from all over the world. 

I really wanted to use this little shrimp and the "you're shrimply the best" text on my card and so I made this card full of ocean friends.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus weißem Cardstock, den ich mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China, Uncharted Mariner und Black Soot gewischt habe. Dann habe ich einige Wassertropfen aufgespritzt. 

Mit einem feinen Blending Brush habe ich dann weiße Stempeltinte von der Mitte der oberen Kante als Strahlen aufgewischt. Ganz dezent, aber so scheint ein wenig Sonnenlicht in das Wasser zu dringen. 

 

The background I made from white cardstock, that I inked with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China, Uncharted Mariner and Black Soot. Then I added some droplets of water.

With a fine blending brush I applied some white pigment ink, drawing rays from the center of the top edge downwards. It's very subtle but looks like some sunrays are coming into the water. 

 

 Die Höhle auf meiner Szene ist mit dem "Müll" des Desert Canyon Backdrops entstanden. Den habe ich aus grau-türkis farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und dann mit dem kleinsten der Stitched Dens den Höhleneingang hineingestanzt. Anschließend habe ich ein weiteres "Müllstück" aus dunklerem Cardstock gestanzt und hinter das erste geklebt. Beide Teile habe ich mit Copics schattiert. So entsteht die Optik einer tiefen Höhle.

Rund um diesen Felsen mit Höhle habe ich dann Unterwasserpflanzen gesetzt. Die sind aus den Sets Platform Pop-Up Wave Wrap Around und Stitched Seashells, ebenfalls aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. 

Und in der Mitte der Karte findet sich dann auch die kleine Garnele aus Shello Friend. Die Außenlinien der Sprechblase habe ich mit einem feinen weißen Stift nachgemalt - nicht komplett deckend, die Stempellinien sind noch leicht zu erkennen. Aber so sieht es mehr wie eine Blase aus und der Text sticht besser hervor. 

 

The cave on my scene is made using the "trash" of the Desert Canyon Backdrop. I die cut it from grey-ish turquoise cardstock and used the smallest of the Stitched Dens to cut an opening into it. Then I cut another "trash" element from dark turquoise cardstock and glued it behind the lighter one. I used Copics to add details to both pieces. This way it looks like a deep and dark cave.

Around the rock with the cave I put a bunch of underwater plants. They are from Platform Pop-Up Wave Wrap Around and Stitched Seashells, again cut from colored cardstock and shaded with Copics.

In the center of the card is also the little shrimp from Shello Friend. I used a fine white gel pen to trace the black lines of the speechbubble to make it look more like a bubble. I didn't cover the lines completly, they are still slightly visible. But this way the text comes out clearer.

 

 Vor die Höhle habe ich dann zwei Lagen Sand gesetzt, die ich aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt habe. Dafür habe ich die Stitched Simple Wavy Borders benutzt und die Teile dann mit Distress Oxide Antique Linen und Scorched Timber gewischt. Außerdem habe ich braune Stempelfarbe und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

In den Sand habe ich weitere Pflanzen und einige Felsen gesteckt und dazwischen befinden sich alle möglichen Meeresbewohner. Sogar eine Muräne schaut aus der Höhle heraus. 

Die Motive sind alle aus den Sets You Are Sublime, Shello Friend und Keep on Swimming.

 

I placed two layers of sand in front of the cave. I cut those from cream colored cardstock using the Stitched Wavy Borders. Then I inked the pieces with Distress Oxide Antique Linen and Scorched Timber and also added fine splatters of brown ink and white acrylic paint to them.

I put more plants into the sand and between them there are all kinds of animals. Even a  moray eel is looking out of the cave.

 Auf den Hintergrund habe ich dann meinen Text gestempelt - direkt, denn für ein extra Banner fehlte mir der Platz. Auch der Text ist aus Shello Friend.

In den Hintergrund habe ich dann noch mit grauer Tinte einige Fischschwärme aus Mermaid for You aufgestempelt und außerdem einige Blasen mit weißer Tinte auf der Karte verteilt. 

 

I stamped my text onto the background - I stamped it down directly because I didn't have room for an extra banner. The text is again from Shello Friend. 

Then I used grey ink to stamp some school of fish from Mermaid for You onto the background and used white ink to add some bubbles to the card.

 

 Natürlich kam beim Zusammensetzen der Karte 3D Tape zum Einsatz - ich habe die Pflanzen direkt an die diversen Lagen geklebt und dann das Tape zwischen jede der Lagen gesetzt. Auch einige der Tiere im oberen Bereich der Karte sind damit hinterlegt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Of course I used foam tape to put the scene together. I glued the plants directly to the different layers and then put foam tape behind each layer. Also some of the animals in the top area of the card are adhered with foam tape.

Then I attached the card panel to a white note card.

 

Bloom with Happiness

Eigentlich verbindet man mit Sonnenblumen ja eher den Herbst, aber auf dem Weg zu/von der Arbeit fahre ich momentan an einigen leuchtenden Sonnenblumenfeldern vorbei. Und die waren dann auch die Inspiration für meine heutige Karte.

Usually we have fall in mind when we think of sunflowers. But on my way to/from work I am passing a few bright sunflower fields right now. And those were the inspireation for today's card.

 

Das Sunflower Garden Stempelset von SimonSaysStamp hatte es mir schon länger angetan, der Stempel ist einfach wundervoll. Und zudem riesig - auf meine normal große Karte hat er bei bestem Willen nicht komplett gepasst. Aber so kann man mit dem selben Motiv, je nach Wahl des Ausschnitts, immer unterschiedliche Karten designen (oder mit einem gestempelten Motiv gleich zwei Karten füllen). 

Ich habe hier einen Ausschnitt des Motivs auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks gestempelt - und da ich in No-Line Technik colorieren wollte dafür das Jellyfish Stempelkissen von LawnFawn benutzt.

 

I have been eyeing with the Sunflower Garden stamp set by SimonSaysStamp for quite some time, it's such an amazing image. And also gigantic - it will never fit completly onto a regular sized card. But this way you can create differently looking cards with the same image, depending on what portion of the image you use (or even fill two cards with just one stamped image).

I picked a part of the image and stamped it onto white cardstock, using the Jellyfish ink pad by LawnFawn because I wanted to do some no-line coloring.

 

 Auf eine der Blumen habe ich noch eine kleine dicke Biene aus dem Bee You Stempelset von ColoradoCraft gestempelt - ebenfalls mit dem Jellyfish Stempelkissen. 

Zum Colorieren habe ich dann Copics verwendet und ganz zum Schluss einige feinere Details/Linien mit Polychromos hinzugefügt. Auch den Hintergrund habe ich mit hellblauen Copics eingefärbt - weiß war mir irgendwie zu langweilig. 

Nach dem Colorieren habe ich über den Cardstock ganz fein und eher sparsam weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.  

 

I stamped a little chunky bee from Bee You by ColoradoCraft onto one of the sunflowers - again using the Jellyfish ink pad.

To color the image I used my Copics and brought in some Polychromos at the very end to add some fine details/lines. I also filled the background with a light blue Copic - white just looked too plain and boring to me.

After I had finished the coloring I added - not too much - fine splatter of white acrylic paint.

 

 Für den Text habe ich ein "bloom" samt Shadow Layer aus dem Great Greetings Spring Stanzenset von HoneyBeeStamps verwendet. Die Schattenlage ist aus Vellum gestanzt, das Wort Bloom habe ich sechsmal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Je 3 davon befinden sich hinter und auf dem Vellum.

Ergänzt wird der Text durch ein winziges "with happiness", das ich mit schwarzer Tinte direkt auf das Motiv gestempelt habe. Ich gebe zu, es ist etwas schwer sichtbar, auch weil es so klein ist. Es ist ein Teile eines Textes aus dem Sunflower Garden Stempelset. Aber ich wollte so wenig wie möglich des Motivs verdecken.

 

For the text I die cut the word "bloom" and its shadow layer from Great Greetings Spring by HoneyBeeStamps. The shadow layer I cut from vellum, the word bloom I cut six times from white cardstock. Three each are stacked under and on top of  the vellum. I completed the text with a tiny "with happiness", that I stamped with black ink directly onto the image. I have to admit, that it's really hard to see, also because it is so small. It's part of a larger/longer text from the Sunflower Garden Set. I really wanted to cover as little of the image as possible.

 

Auf die oberen Enden des Wortes Bloom sowie die Flügel der Biene habe ich Stickles aufgetragen, die Flügel und das Auge der Biene habe ich außerdem mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

Als Deko habe ich drei kleine weiße Herzn auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I glued three white clay hearts onto the image and then adhered the card panel to a white note card. 

 

Packt die Strandtaschen!

Heute habe ich ein paar kleine Strandtaschen zu zeigen. Und die sind mit allem gefüllt, was man am Strand so brauchen kann.

 

Hello everyone!

Today I have some beach bags to share with you. And they are filled with everything you need for a day at the beach.

 

Nun, ich muss ein wenig ausholen. Vielleicht habt Ihr mitbekommen, dass ScrappyTails eine Craft Cruise organisiert hat. Eigentlich eher Bastelplatz auf einer normalen Cruise. Nun, ich habe ganz spontan gebucht. Und das natürlich nicht allein - wir sind zwei Bastler samt unseren Männern und zwei Freundinnen sind auch noch spontan - ohne Basteln - auf den Zug, äh das Schiff, aufgesprungen. Und so geht es nächsten Januar auf Bastelkreuzfahrt durch die Karibik... Ich kann es selbst noch gar nicht glauben.

Da wir alles so spontan gebucht haben, wissen wir noch nicht einmal, wann genau wir fliegen wollen, wie lange wir zusätzlich in den USA bleiben möchten etc. Um all diese Details zu besprechen stand nun ein gemeinsames Treffen an. Und ich habe als Einstimmung für die anderen der Gruppe schon mal die kleinen Strandtaschen gemacht.

 

I have to do a bit of storytime here. Maybe you've heard about the Craft Cruise, that ScrappyTails has organized. Well, it's more crafting on a regular cruise. And  I booked tickets. Of course I won't go alone - we are two crafters with our husbands and two non-crafting friends also jumped onto the waggon - ah, ship. So next january I will be on a craft cruise in the caribbean.... I really can't believe it myself.

We booked so spontaneously that we don't know, when we want to fly over to the States, how much longer we want to stay before and/or after the cruise etc. To talk about all these details we all just met. And for  everyone to be prepared or in the right mood I made little beach bags for everyone except my husband and myself.

 

 Die Taschenstanze hatte ich vor kurzem bei Ama..n entdeckt. Und nach gründlicher Suche, wir alle wissen ja, dass nicht alles bei Ama..n original ist, konnte ich diese Stanze auch von keinem anderen Hersteller finden. Also habe ich sie bestellt. 

Zwei der Taschen habe ich eher "weiblich" gestaltet - eine ist rosa, die andere koralle-rot. 

 

I saw this jelly tote die by Ama..n a little ago. And after searching all over the net - we all know that not everything at Ama..n is original - I really wasn't able to find this die from any other manufacturer or brand. So I bought it.

I made two of those bags more girly - a pink and a coral red one.

 

 Zum Dekorieren aller Taschen, auch der etwas "männlicheren", habe ich Stanzen aus dem Woodland Critter Huggers Add-On Summer Set von LawnFawn benutzt. 

Auf diesen beiden befindet sich je ein Cocktail, ein Sommerhut mit Blume und ein Tuch, das an den Griff gebunden/geklebt ist. Ich habe die meisten Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Für ein paar Elemente habe ich Designpapier benutzt, das ich ebenfalls mit Copics ein wenig schattiert habe.

 

To decorate all the bags, also the more "male" ones, I used dies from the Woodland Critter Huggers Add-On Summer set by LawnFawn,

On each of the girly ones there's a cocktail, a straw hat with a flower and a Bandana, tied/glued to the handle. I cut most of the pieces from white cardstock and colored them with Copics, a few I also cut from patterned paper and used Copics again to shade them a little.

 

 Die beiden "männlicheren" Taschen habe ich aus blauem bzw. hell-lila farbenem Cardstock gemacht. Eine der Taschen ist übrigens ebenfalls für eine Frau, die aber statt Strohhut lieber Baseball-Caps trägt. An diese Tasche habe ich ebenfalls ein Bandana an den Griff gebunden. Das  habe ich bei der einzig "echten" Männertasche weggelassen.

 

The two "boyish" bags I cut from blue and light purple cardstock. One of these is also for a female, but she prefers baseball caps over straw hats. I also tied a bandana to her bag and left that off of the only "real male" bag.

 

 Wie schon erwähnt befindet sich ein Baseball-Cap auf diesen Taschen, außerdem darf auch hier der Cockatil nicht fehlen. 

Gefüllt habe ich die Tasche mit einem Anti-Mücken-Armband, Sonnenschutz-Lippenbalsam, einem aufblasbaren Getränkehalter für den Pool und zwei Lutschern. Die passen jetzt im ersten Moment vielleicht nicht so ins Bild, aber es steht auf jedem ganz groß "Beach Lollies" - das hat sie als Füllung für diese Taschen qualifiziert. Und weil ich ja gerne mal eskaliere, habe ich auch noch aufladbare kleine Ventilatoren für jeden gekauft. Die haben dann aber wirklich nicht mehr in die Taschen gepasst, deswegen habe ich die Taschen auf die Ventilatoren-Boxen gestellt...

 

As I said already there's a baseball cap on these two bags and of course the cocktail has to be there, too.

I filled the bags with a anti mosquito bracelet, some sun protect lip balm, an inflatable drink holder for the pool and two lollipops. Those might seem a bit random at first, but there's "beach lollies" in large letters printed on them, that qualified them. And since I tend to go a bit overboard every once in a while I also bought little re-chargable vans for everyone. But those really didn't fit into those bags anymore and I just put the bag on top...

In unserer Familie gehört Kaffee zum Grundnahrungsmittel - nur meine Große schlägt aus der Art und mag ihn überhaupt nicht... Filterkaffee gibt es bei uns schon lange nicht mehr. Bevor mein Mann letztes Jahr die professionelle Siebträgermaschine gekauft hat, haben wir unseren Kaffee auf die italienische Art gekocht: in einer Cafetiera auf dem Herd. Die blubberte eigentlich den ganzen Tag. 

Als HeroArts nun eine Cafetiera-Stanze rausgebracht hat, musste ich die haben, und habe damit diese Karte gemacht.

 

Hello everyone!

Coffee is an essential in our family - only my oldest is different and doesn't like it at all... We haven't made any regular coffee in ages. Before my husband invested in that fancy italian coffee machine we made our coffee the italian way, using a Cafetiera on the stove. It was bubbling all day long. 

When HeroArts came out with a Cafeteria die I just had to have it - and this is the first card I made with it.

 

Zuerst wollte ich einen etwas rustikalen Holzhintergrund für die Karte machen, dann aber hatte ich eine andere Idee.

Mit einem Honeycomb-Stencil - der hier ist von Create a Smile - habe ich Küchenfliesen gestaltet. Dafür habe ich die Stencil erst in der Big Shot ins Papier geprägt und dann durch den Stencil Versamark auf den Cardstock aufgebracht. Darauf habe ich dann Distress Glaze Lost Shadow aufgetragen und geschmolzen. Ich habe zwei Lagen davon aufgetragen, damit die Fliesen noch etwas mehr Dimension bekommen, und anschließend feine Sprenkel schwarzer Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt - wieder durch den Stencil, so dass die "Fugen" weiß bleiben. Durch den Glanz und das Erhabene sehen die Fliesen super realistisch aus. 

Als Küchenarbeitsplatte habe ich dann ein Stück Woodgrain-Cardstock von Tim Holtz zugeschnitten und mit Distress Ink Hickory Smoke grau eingefärbt. Mit einem Schwämmchen war mir die Farbe zu hell, also habe ich einfach das Stempelkissen direkt über den Cardstock gezogen. Den Holz-Cardstock habe ich dann auf den Fliesenhintergrund geklebt. 

 

First I wanted  to do some kind of rustic wooden background for the card but then had a different idea and created a kitchen back splash using a honeycomb stencil - this one is by Create a Smile. 

I first used my Big Shot to emboss the stencil into some white cardstock and then applied Versamark through the stencil. I put Distress Glaze Lost Shadow onto the wet ink and melted it. Just in case I added two layers of the embossing powder to give the tiles even more dimension. Then I added fine splatters of black metallic watercolor - again with the stencil put onto the cardstock to keep the joints white. With the shine and the dimensino the tiles look super realistic.

For my counter top I cut a piece of Tim Holtz's woodgrain cardstock the size I needed and colored it grey with Ditress Ink Hickory Smoke. The color turned out too light when applying it with a sponge so I dragged the ink pad directly over the paper. Then I glued the woodgrain cardstock onto the tile background.

 

 Die Motive auf der Karte sind alle mit besagtem Stovetop Espresso Stanzenset von HeroArts gemacht. Ich habe die Cafetiera aus silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock gemacht, den Griff und Knopf auf dem Deckel habe ich aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt.

Die Tassen sind aus weißem Cardstock gemacht und mit Copics leicht schattiert. 

Ich habe jeweils dünnes 3D Tape benutzt, um die Teile zusammenzukleben. Und damit das auch bei den Kaffeetassen klappt, habe ich je zwei Teile gestanzt und mit der Schere entlang der vorderen Tassenkante entlang geschnitten. So konnte ich auch die Tasse layern und dabei den Kaffee samt Crema-Herz etwas tieferliegend aufkleben, als wäre er in den Tassen. Über jeder Tasse habe ich etwas Dampf, gestanzt aus Vellum, aufsteigen lassen.

Zwischen den Tassen liegen einige Kaffeebohnen aus dem selben Stanzenset auf der Arbeitsplatte. Die sind aus schwarzem und dunkelbraunem Cardstock gestanzt. 

 

The images on this card are all from said Stovetop Espresso die set by HeroArts. 

I cut the Cafetiera from silver mirror cardstock, the handle and button on the top I cut from black cardstock.

The cups are made from white cardstock and shaded lightly with Copics.

I used thin foam tape to put the different pieces together. And to make that work also with the cups I cut two pieces for each cup, then used my scissors and cut along the front rim. This way I was able to also layer the cups and put the liquid with the heart a bit lower as if it's inside the cup. I adhered some steam, cut from vellum, above each cup.

There are a few coffee beans laying on the counter top. I made those from black and dark brown cardstock using another die from the same set.

 

 Der Text auf der Karte ist eine Kombi aus einem gestanzten Wort Coffee und gestempelten Texten.

Das Wort Coffee habe ich mit einer Stanze aus dem Coffee Words Set von Sugar Pea Designs gemacht. Das habe ich gefühlt schon seit 10 Jahren und hier konnte ich es endlich mal wieder benutzen. Die oberste Lage besteht aus schwarzem Cardstock, dahinter befinden sich 5 Lagen weißen Cardstocks, die ich etwas versetzt aufgeklebt habe.

Die gestempelten Texte sind aus dem Set Perk Up von MFT. Das "a good days start with" ist weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst, das Fähnchen mit dem "and you" habe ich mit Versafine Clair Nocturne auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. 

 

The text on the card is a combination of a die cut word coffee and stamped texts.

The word coffee I made using a die from the Coffee Words die set by Sugar Pea Designs. I think I have this set since at least 10 years and was finally able to use it again here. The top layer is cut from black cardstock, under it there are 5 white layers, that I adhered a bit offset. 

The stamped texts are from Perk Up by MFT. The "a good day starts with" is white heat embossed onto black cardstock, the banner with "and you" I stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne onto white cardstock.

 

Die  einzelnen Elemente habe ich dann mit dünnem und dickem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Ich konnte for einiger Zeit endlich braune Herzen ergattern und hier passten sie dann auch. Ich habe drei davon als Deko auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. Eigentlich wollte ich eines der Herzen als Stopper einsetzen, das klappte aber nicht wie geplant. Und falls Ihr Euch jetzt fragt, als Stopper wofür - ich konnte nicht anders und habe noch ein kleines Extra eingebaut:

 

I adhered the different elements with thin and thick foam tape to the background. 

A little ago I was finally able to get my hands on some brown clay hearts and they were perfect here. I added three of them as decoration and then glued the card panel onto a white note card. 

Originally I wanted to use one of the hearts as a stopper, but that didn't work out. And if you wonder "a stopper for what" - I just couldn't resist and added a little extra to the card:

 

 Der Deckel der Cafetiera lässt sich aufklappen und dabei steigt heißer Dampf auf. 

 

The lid of the Cafetiera can be opened and when doing so, hot steam is coming out of it.

 

 Ich habe hier unter dem Scharnier am Deckel ein kleines Loch in den Cardstock darunter gestanzt und ein flaches kleines Brad hindurchgesteckt. An diesem Brad habe ich den Deckel angeklebt. 

Und hier sieht man auch, dass ich das innere/hintere obere Teil der Cafetiera aus matt-silbernem Cardstock gestanzt habe. Und weil ich gelernt habe, dass man eine Cafetiera nie mit Spüli reinigen darf, sondern immer nur mit Wasser ausspülen soll, habe ich die so entsehende Patina mit braunen Copics innen aufgemalt. 

Der Dampf ist mit einer weiteren Stanze aus dem Set und aus Vellum gemacht. Ich habe ihn einfach hinten am Deckel angeklebt, beim Schließen des Deckels verschwindet der Dampf in der Cafetiera.

 

I made a small hole into the cardstock under the hinge of the lid  and put a small flat brad through it. Then I glued the lid to that brad.

And here you can also see that I cut the inner/back top piece of the Cafetiera from matte silver cardstock. I also learned, that you must never clean a Cafetiera with dish soap, instead just rinse it under water. I used brown Copics to add the patina, that you end up with in your Cafetiera when you clean it that way.

The steam is cut from vellum using another die from the set. I simply glued it to the back of the lid, when you close the lid the steam moves inside the Cafetiera.

 

Ein Tag auf dem Spielplatz

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Es sind Ferien und so wie wir früher, treffen sich alle kleinen Mäuse schon morgens, um gemeinsam einen abenteuerlichen Tag zu verleben. Heute sind sie auf einen nahegelegenen Spielplatz gegangen. Und auf dieser Karte, zeigen sie uns einen Einblick in ihren Tag.

Und wie Ihr auf dem Bild oben seht, ist ein kleines interaktives Element auf die Karte gehüpft. 

 

Hello everyone!

School is over and just like we did when we were little all the mice are meeting early every morning to have a fun filled day together. Today they went to a nearby playground. And on this card they give us a sneak on what they are doing there.

 And as you can see on this picture I included a small interactive element here.

 

 Der Hintergrund besteht hier aus je einem Streifen hellblauen und grünen Cardstocks. Die Ränder des blauen Cardstocks habe ich ein wenig mit Distress Ink Broken China gewischt. 

Die obere Kante des grünen Cardstocks habe ich mit einer Grasbordüren-Stanze gestanzt und dann den Cardstock mit Mowed Lawn gewischt.

Für den Baum habe ich den Leafy Tree Backdrop Landscape aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt und die Blätter mit den wolkenähnlichen Stanzen aus dem Set Tree House. Die habe ich aus etwas dunkler grünem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Rustic Wilderness gewischt. 

Auf das Gras und die Blätter des Baumes habe ich etwas mit Wasser verdünntes Rustic Wilderness und dann - auch auf den Himmel - weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

The background is made from a light blue and a green strip of cardstock. I inked the edges of the blue cardstock with Distress Ink Broken China.

I cut the top edge of the green cardstock with a grass border die and then inked it with Mowed Lawn.

For the tree I die cut the Leafy Tree Backdrop Landscape from brown cardstock and used the cloud like dies from Tree House for the leaves. I cut them from a bit darker green cardstock and inked them with Rustic Wilderness.

I flicked some watered down Rustic Wilderness onto the grass and tree leaves, then added fine splatters of white acrylic paint onto the pieces, also the sky.

 

 Kennt Ihr auch noch relativ einfachen Spielplätze mit den metallenen Spielgeräten? Die waren hier Vorlage für meine Coloration. Ich habe die fast immer rot in Erinnerung, aber designtechnisch passte blau einfach besser für meine Karte. Die Spielgeräte sind alle aus dem Set Let's Play und, wie alle Motive auf der Karte, mit Copics coloriert, dann habe ich  sie mit der Schere ausgeschnitten.

Die Mäuse sind aus den Sets Crazy Antics, Whoosh Kites und Bubbles of Joy. 

Irgendwie waren - oder sind - auf den Spielplätzen immer grasfreie Flecken unter der Schaukel, vor der Rutsche etc. Die sollten auf meinem Spielplatz natürlich nicht fehlen. Also habe ich hier ein wenig Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap auf den grünen Cardstock aufgetragen.

 

Do you remember those simple playgrounds with the simple play equipment? One of those was what I had in mind for my coloring. I remember them being red most of the times, but just designwise blue ones worked better for my card. All the equipment is from Let's Play and, like all the images on this card, colored with Copics, then I cut them out with my scissors. 

The mice on my card are from Crazy Antics, Whoosh Kites and Bubbles of Joy.

There always were - or still are -  grass free spots under the swings, at the end of the slide etc. I wanted to have those on my card as well. So I applied some Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap onto the green cardstock.

 

 Auf der linken Seite der Karte, vor dem Baum, steht eine Maus und lässt einen Drachen steigen. Zwischen Drachen und Maus habe ich etwas braunes Twine quer über die Karte gespannt.

Und hier war auch Platz für den Text meiner Karte. Wohl mit den Erinnerungen an die sorglosen Ferientage der Kindheit im Kopf habe ich mich für "wishing you a carefree day", wieder aus dem Set Let's Play, entschieden. So passt die Karte sowohl für jüngere als auch uns ältere Empfänger.

 

On the left side of the card, in front of the tree, there's another mouse with a kite. I put a piece of brown twine between the mouse and the kite, putting it all across the scene.

And on the left side there was also room for my sentiment. I guess it was the memory of those carefree  childhood summer days, that I had in mind, that let me pick the "wishing you a carefree day" from Let's Play. But this makes the card great for both young and older recipients.

 

Für das interaktive Element habe ich die Wippe in zwei Teile geschnitten - einmal den langen Streifen und das Gestell. Hinter dem Streifen befindet sich eine kleine runde Scheibe, die durch ein Loch im Hintergrund gesteckt und mit einem Stück Cardstock gesichert ist. Die Halterung ist auf dem Rahmen der Karte aufgeklebt und verdeckt den Mechanismus. 

 

For the interactive element I cut the seesaw into two pieces - the longer one and the stand. I put a small disc behind the long strip with the mice and put it through a hole, that I cut into the background. I secured it by putting another piece of cardstock behind it, the stand is attached to the frame and hides the mechanism.

 

 Auf den Leafy Tree Backdrop habe ich einen Rahmen aus taupe farbigem Cardstock geklebt. Auf die untere Kante habe ich ein Stück grünen Cardstocks geklebt, das ich noch vom Gras übrig hatte. Für den Rahme habe ich einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames benutzt.

Auf den Himmel habe ich drei kleine Wolken aus Whoosh Kites geklebt und außerdem einige gestanzte Grasbüschel auf der Karte verteilt. Die sind mit Stanzen aus den Sets Tree House und Build-a-House Beach Add-On gemacht.

Beim Zusammensetzen der Karte kam teilweise 3D Tape zum Einsatz, zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I glued a taupe colored frame on top of the Leafy Tree Backdrop, onto the bottom edge I put a strip of green cardstock, that I had left over from my grass. For the frame I used one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames.

I added three clouds from Whoosh Kites to the sky and also some die cut grass to the card. The grass I made using dies from Tree House and Build-a-House Beach Add-On.

To put the scene together I used foam tape behind some of the elements, then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

 

You're a Treasure

Ich habe schon wieder eine WaffleFlower-Karte für Euch. Ich glaube, letztes Jahr kamen die Inquisitive Seagulls heraus und ich habe mich damals schon in sie verliebt. Nun gab es ein Inquisitive Pirates Add-On Set, mit dem man die Möwen in Piraten verwandeln kann. Sorry, aber da konnte ich nicht widerstehen. Und hier ist meine erste Karte damit.

And I have another WaffleFlower card for you. I think it was last year that they released the Inquisitive Seagulls and I fell in love with them. Now they came out with an Inquisitive Pirates Add-On set, that can turn the seagulls - and other animals - into pirates. Sorry, I couldn't say no to that. And here's my first card with this set.

 

Ich wollte einen tropischen Hintergrund für meine Möwe, schließlich haben Piraten ihre Schätze doch immer auf einsamen tropischen Inseln vergraben, oder?

Also habe ich auf weißen Cardstock erst einen Sonnenuntergangshimmel mit Distress  Oxide Mustard Seed, Abandoned Coral, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire und ein wenig Black Soot gewischt und dann weiße Acrylfarbe für die ersten erscheinenden Sterne aufgespritzt. 

Darauf kam dann eine Lage schwarzen Cardstocks, in den ich den Palmen Insert von Kulricke gestanzt habe. Das Fenster hat links und rechts je eine Palme, ich habe es einfach aus schwarzem Cardstock in Kartengröße gestanzt.

 

I wanted a tropical background for my seagull, didn't all pirates burry their treasure chests on some small lonely island?

I first inked a sunset sky onto a piece of white cardstock using Distress Oxide Mustard Seed, Abandoned Coral, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. Then I added splatters of white acrylic paint for the first visible stars of the night.

On top I put a layer of black cardstock that I cut the Palmen Insert by Kulricke out of. This die creates a window with a palm tree on each side, I simply cut it from black cardstock in the size of my card base.

 

 Alle Teile meines Motivs sind aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Nur den Griff und die Kanten der Schatztruhe habe ich aus matt-goldenem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. Alle Motive sind aus den Sets Inquisitive Seagulls und Inquisitive Pirate Add-On. 

Ich konnte nicht anders, als der Möwe, die hier mit Augenklappe und Piratenhut daherkommt, eine Perlenkette in den Mund zu stecken. Die eingestanzten Details auf der Schatzkarte habe ich mit einem dunkelbraunen Fineliner und einem roten Glaze-Pen nachgemalt. Und auch die Augen - bzw. das eine sichtbare Auge - habe ich mit einem schwarzen Glaze-Pen gefüllt. 

 

All images of my scene are cut from white cardstock and colored with Copics. I only used matte gold metallic cardstock for the handle and the edges of the treasure chest. The images are from Inquisitive Seagulls and Inquisitive Pirate Add-On.

I just couldn't resist and put the seagull, that's dressed with an eye patch and a pirate hat here, another pearl necklace into the beak. I used a brown fineliner and a red glaze pen to re-draw the details cut into the treasure map. And I filled the eyes - or better the one visible eye - with a black glaze pen.

 

 Das Palmenfenster hat im unteren Bereich eine wellenförmige Kante - die habe ich genutzt und damit Sand gestaltet. Dafür habe ich nur den unteren Bereich des Fensters nochmal aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt. Den habe ich dann mit Distress Oxide Scorched Timber gewischt und ebenfalls weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Hier auf den Sand, passend zwischen die Motive, habe ich dann meinen Text aufgestempelt. Das "you're a treasure" ist Teil eines Textes aus dem Set Treasure Hunt Sentiments und mit Versafine Clair Nocturne auf den Sand gestempelt. Das kleinere "I'm so happy I found you" darunter ist aus dem Set Hey Lady von LawnFawn. Ich wollte es nicht ganz so prominent haben wie die Textzeile darüber, deswegen habe ich es mit Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves gestempelt. 

 

The palm tree window has a wavy bottom edge - I used that to create some sand. I cut only the bottom of the window again from brown cardstock. Then I inked that with Distress Oxide Scorched Timber and added fine splatters of white acrylic paint again.

And here on the sand, nestled between the die cut images,  I stamped my text. The "you're a treasure" is part of one of the texts from Treasure Hunt Sentiments and stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne. The smaller "I'm so happy I found you" under it is from Hey Lady by LawnFawn. I wanted it to be a bit less dark than the line above it so I stamped it with Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves.

 

 Den Sand habe ich dann mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den schwarzen Hintergrund mit dem Fenster geklebt und das dann wieder mit 3D Tape auf den Sonnenuntergangshimmel. Auf den sowie die Palme links habe ich noch ein paarmal "mine!" aus dem Set Inquisitive Seagulls weiß aufembosst. Wobei ich mir nicht sicher bin, ob die Möwe das auf den Empfänger der Karte oder den Schatz bezieht...

Und weil der schwarze Rahmen rechts und links vom Fenster recht breit war und mir das nicht so gut gefallen hat, habe ich noch einen schmalen braunen Rahmen, den ich mit der A2 Thin Frames  von HoneyBeeStamps gemacht habe, aufgeklebt.

Ganz zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the sand with thin foam tape to the black background with the window, then used foam tape again to adhere it to the sunset sky. I white heat embossed a few "mine!" onto the sky and also the palm tree on the left, the stamps are from the Inquisitive Seagulls stamp set. I have to admit that I am not sure, if the seagull is talking about the recipient of the card or the treasure...

And because the black frame around the window was pretty wide on the left and right side and I didn't like that I cut a thin brown frame using the A2 Thin Frames by HoneyBeeStamps and glued it on top. As the last step I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

 

Droppin' Anchor

Von den Produkten des Juni-Release von WaffleFlower kann ich momentan nicht die Finger lassen. Vielleicht, weil der Sommer endlich da ist. Vielleicht aber auch, weil ich gerade vom Urlaub am Meer komme. Wie auch immer, heute gibt es eine weitere maritime Karte von mir.

Lately I can't resist the products from WaffleFlower's june release. Maybe because summer is finally here. Or maybe because I just came back from a vacation at the sea. However, I have another maritime card to share with you today.

 

Der Hintergrund der Karte besteht hier aus einfach aus einem Stück hellblau-weiß gestreiften Designpapiers. Blau-weiße Streifen passen zu maritim ja immer. 

 

The background here is simply made from a piece of blue and white striped patterned paper. Blue and white stripes always go with a maritime theme.

 

 Als Hauptmotiv kam hier das Stanzenset Floral Anchor zum Einsatz. Den großen Anker habe ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt und mit einigen Blüten aus dem selben Stanzenset dekoriert. Außerdem habe ich ein Stück braunes Twine oben am Anker befestigt und dann um ihn herumgeschlungen.

Das untere Ende des Ankers habe ich in den Sand gesteckt. Der besteht aus zwei Lagen kraftfarbenen Cardstocks, den ich mit Distress Oxide Antique Linen und Scorched Timber gewischt und dann mit weißer Acrylfarbe und mit Wasser vermischtem Distress Ink Scorched Timber bespritzt habe. Neben dem Anker habe ich noch zwei Muscheln aus dem Seashells Set in den Sand gesteckt. Die Stanzteile der Karte - bis auf den Anker natürlich - habe ich alle aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. 

Mein Anker brauchte auch einen Rahmen - da war der Seilrahmen von MarianneDesign perfekt. Ich habe ihn aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und das Muster, das beim Stanzen eingeprägt wird, mit Polychromos etwas hervorgehoben. Dann habe ich mit Wasser verdünnte Distress Ink Vintage Photo aufgespritzt.

Hinter den Rahmen habe ich erst den Sand mit Anker geklebt und dann alles mit einer Lage Vellum hinterlegt. Das habe ich ein wenig mit weißer Acrylfarbe bespritzt. 

 

For the main image I used the Floral Anchor die set. I cut the large anchor from matte silver metallic cardstock and deorated it with some flowers from the same stamp set. I also tied a piece of brown twine to the ring at the top of the anchor and wrapped it around it. 

The bottom end of the anchor I tucked into some sand. I made that from two layers of craft colored cardstock, that I inked with Distress Oxide Antique Linen and Scorched Timber and then added fine splatters of white acrylic paint and some watered down Distress Ink Scorched Timber. Next to the anchor I tucked two small seashells from the Seashells die set into the sand. I cut all die cuts of this card - except for the anchor of course - from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.

My anchor needed some kind of frame - this rope frame by MarianneDesign was perfect. I cut it from cream colored cardstock and used Polychromos to bring out the details, that get embossed into the paper while cutting the frame out, slightly more. Then I flicked some watered down Distress Ink Vintage Photo onto it.

Behind the frame I first glued the sand with the anchor, then backed it with a layer of vellum. Onto that I splattered some white acrylic paint.

 

Den Text auf meiner Karte habe ich zweigeteilt. Im oberen Bereich habe ich ein "droppin' anchor to say" aus dem Stempelset Treasure Hunt Sentiments weiß auf blau-grauen Cardstock embosst.

Im unteren Bereich wird der Text dann durch ein gestanztes "hello" ergänzt. Das ist mit einer Stanze von MFT gemacht und besteht aus drei weißen Lagen mit einer grau-blauen Lage obenauf. Die habe ich mit denselben Copics, die ich auch für die Blätter am Anker benutzt habe, etwas schattiert.

 

I separated the text on my card into two pieces. In the top area I adhered a "droppin' anchor to say" from the Treasure Hunt Sentiments set, that I white heat embossed onto greyish-blue cardstock.

At the bottom of the frame I finished the text with a die cut "hello". I made that using a die by MFT and layered three white layers and a grey-ish blue layer on top. I shaded that top layer with the same Copics that I had also used to color the leaves on the anchor. 

 

 Zwischen dem Rahmen und dem Vellum sowie hinter dem Vellum befindet sich jeweils eine Lage dünnen 3D Tapes. So bekommt die Karte Tiefe.

Als Deko habe ich noch drei rote Herzen auf der Karte verteilt und die Blumenmitten außerdem mit Glossy Accents überzogen. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
