Halloween Witches

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ja, die Halloween-Karten hier auf meinem Blog werden immer mehr - was poste ich denn dann im Oktober? Aber wenn die Firmen doch schon viel früher die Halloweenmotive veröffentlichen, dann wollen sie doch auch zum Einsatz kommen! Und so zeige ich heute auf dem Stamping-Fairies Blog diese Karte mit einer süßen Hexe von MFT.

Yes, I am sharing more and more Halloween cards already - what am I going to share in october then? But since all the brands already released their Halloween products those also want to be used, right? And so I'm sharing this card with a cute witch by MFT over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today. 

Ich wollte einen ein wenig, aber nicht zu sehr gruseligen Hintergrund für meine Szene. Deswegen habe ich ein Stück Watercolor Paper mit Distress Oxide Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violett und Black Soot gewischt. Anschließend habe ich einige Wassertropfen, sowie weiße und schwarze Arcylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Den Hintergrund habe ich schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I wanted a background, that's just a bit scary, not too much. So I inked up a piece of watercolor paper with Distress Oxide Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violett and Black Soot. Then I sprinkled a few droplets of water and some white and black acrylic paint over it.

I matted the background with black cardstock and glued it onto a white note card.

Die süße Hexe ist aus dem Stempelset Sweet Little Spell von MFT. Ich habe sie mit Copics in schwarz und grün coloriert. 

Für das Gras habe ich ein Stück Cardstock mit einer der Grassy Hills Stanzen gestanzt und von unten her wieder ein wenig Distress Oxide Black Soot aufgewischt. 

Hinter das Gras habe ich noch einen Zaun aufgeklebt. Den habe ich mit der Spooky Fence Stanze aus schwarz-silber glitzerndem Cardstock ausgestanzt, so dass er sich ein wenig vor dem Haus abhebt.

Für den Text habe ich zwei Stempel aus dem Itty Bitty Boss Stempelset von MFT kombiniert. Er ist mit weißem Embossingpulver auf zwei schmale Streifen schwarzen Cardstocks embosst und dann neben der Hexe auf das Gras geklebt.

The cute witch is from the Sweet Little Spell stamp set by MFT. I colored her in black and green with my Copics.

For the grass I used one of the Grassy Hills dies to die cut the top edge of a piece of green cardstock, then shaded it with Distress Oxide Black Soot.

Behind the grass I glued down a fence. I've die cut that with the Spooky Fence die from black-silver glitter cardstock to have a bit of contrast to the house in the background. 

For the text I combined two stamps from the Itty Bitty Boss stamp set by MFT. I white heat embossed it onto two thin strips of black cardstock and then glued it down on the grass, just next to the witch.

In dem etwas windschiefen Haus im Hintergrund wohnt die kleine Hexe. Ich habe dafür eine der Stanzen aus dem Ghost Town Set von Sizzix benutzt. Von MFT gibt es ein tolles neues Spooky House, aber das habe ich nicht. Also habe ich zu diesem hier gegriffen. Ich habe es aus schwarzem Cardstsock gestanzt und hinter die Fenster gelben Cardstock geklebt. So sieht es durch die hell erleucheten Fenster gar nicht mehr so spooky aus. Außerdem habe ich vorsichtig ein weißes Stempelkissen an die Ränder und - mit der Kante aufgesetzt - auch quer über das Haus aufgetragen, um ihm etwas Struktur zu geben.

Für den Mond habe ich einfach einen Kreis aus hellgelbem Cardstock ausgestanzt. Die Eule, die davor auf einem knorrigen Baum sitzt, ist aus dem Stanzenset Moonlit Owl, ebenfalls von Sizzix. Eigentlich ist die Stanze fast kartenfüllend - ich habe aber nur die Eule sowie einen Teil der Äste daraus ausgeschnitten und vor den Mond geklebt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich noch ein paar Nebelschwaden, gemacht mit den Cloud Cover Stanzen, aus Vellum im Hintergrund aufgeklebt.

In the a bit crooked house in the background the little witch is living. I used one of the dies from the Ghost Town die set by Sizzix here. There's a great new Spooky House die by MFT, but I don't have that. So I used this one instead. I've die cut it from black cardstock and glued some yellow cardstock behind the windows. With the lit up windows the house doesn't look that spooky anymore. I also used a white ink pad and lightly pressed it against the edges of the house and - with the edge touching the paper - also across the house to add some structure to the house. 

For the moon I simply die cut a circle from light yellow cardstock. The owl, that's sitting in front of it on a few crooked branches, is from the Moonlit Owl die set, also by Sizzix. This die cuts a piece of cardstock that nearly covers the whole front of a card - I only used the owl and some of the branches here and glued the piece down in front of the moon.

In the end I added some fog, made with the Cloud Cover die set and die cut from vellum, onto the sky.

September-Challenge bei Stampcorner

Nach einer Sommerpause, geht es heute mit einer neuen Challenge bei Stampcorner weiter. Und weil es ja so ein tolles neues Stempelset von Stampcorner zum Thema Halloween gibt, haben wir das auch gleich zum Thema der Challenge gemacht. Also, zeigt uns Eure Halloween-Kreationen!

After our summer break we are back with a new challenge over at Stampcorner today. And since they just release a great Halloween stamp set, we picked that as the theme for our challenge. So, share your Halloween creations with us!

Auch neu von Stampcorner im September ist dieser tolle Mauerhintergrund, der hier zum Einsatz kam. Ich habe direkt auf einem weißen Kartenrohling gearbeitet und einige Lagen Farbe aufgetragen, bis ich diesen etwas verwitterten Mauerlook erreicht hatte. Angefangen habe ich mit einer Lage Distress Oxide Pumice Stone, das ich eher fleckig aufgewischt habe. Dann habe ich den Mauerhintergrund mit Hickory Smoke gestempelt und vor dem Stempeln den Stempel ein wenig mit Wasser besprüht, so dass die Stempellinien ein wenig verlaufen. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich nochmal mit Hickory Smoke, diesmal ohne Wasser, gestempelt. Dann habe ich den Stempel mit Versafine Clair Morning Mist eingefärbt, ihn einmal auf Schmierpapier gestempelt und, ohne erneut Farbe aufzutragen, ihn dann wieder auf meinen Hintergrund gestempelt. Zum Glück trifft man mit einem Stempeltool immer dieselbe Stelle. Aber so hat mir die Mauer immer noch nicht gefallen. Also habe ich von den Ränder her Hickory Smoke und anschließend ein wenig Blatt Soot aufgewischt. Und ganz zum Schluss kam mir die Idee, mein Papier im Stempeltool ein wenig nach oben und rechts zu verschieben und die Mauer ein wenig versetzt mit weißer Stempelfarbe aufzustempeln. Und zack - da war der Look, den ich wollte! Manchmal dauert es eben ein wenig länger... ;)

Auf die unter Kante meiner Karte habe ich dann die Tropical Leaves Border von LawnFawn aufgeklebt. Die habe ich aus grauem und schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und versetzt übereinander geklebt. Von der oberen Kante der Karte habe ich die Tropical Vines, ebenfalls von LawnFawn und aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, herabhängen lassen.

There's also a new brick wall stamp by Stampcorner, that I used on this card. 

I worked directly on a white note card and added quite a few layers of ink until I reached the weathered look I was after. I started with Distress Oxide Pumice Stone, that I put onto the card base in a bit of a spotted way. Next I stamped the wall with Hickory Smoke, misting the stamp with water before stamping it so the ink would flow a bit and leave some uncrisp stamped lines. After that had dried, I stamped the wall again with Hickory Smoke, this time without adding water. Next I used Versafine Clair Morning Mist, doing some second generation stamping to not have too dark of lines. Luckily you always meet the same spot with a stamping tool. But the wall still didn't look how I had planned. So I inked up the edges with Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. And then I had the one idea that changed the look: Imoved my card base a bit up and to the right in my stamping tool and then stamped it again with white ink. And voilà, there was the wall how I had pictured it in my head. Well, sometimes you have to take the long way... ;)

Onto the lower edge of my card I glued the Tropical Leaves Border by LawnFawn, die cut from grey and black cardstock and glued on top of each other a bit off. And from the top edge I let hang the Tropical Vines, again by LawnFawn and die cut from black cardstock. 

Im Mauermotiv gibt es eine Stelle, an der keine Mauerfugen zu sehen sind. Die habe ich aus meiner Kartenfront ausgeschnitten um ein Fenster zu kreieren, durch das man wie durch ein Mauerloch hindurch auf das Innere der Karte schauen kann.

Von der Kante des Mauerlochs habe ich noch die Spinne aus dem Halloween-Stempelset von Oma Plott abgestempelt und den Spinnenfaden mit einem weißen Gelpen aufgemalt.

Außerdem habe ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner rund um das Loch ein paar Risse auf die Mauer gemalt.

In the brick wall there's a spot where you don't see any joints. I cut that area out of my card front to create some kind of window, through which you can see the inside of the card.

From the edge of that window I let dangle the spider from Stampcorner's Halloween set, drawing the spider thread with a white gel pen.

I also used a black fineliner to draw a few cracks around the hole in the wall.

Und Ihr habt es beim Blick durch das Loch in der Mauer sicher schon erahnt - innen befindet sich das eigentliche Motiv meiner Karte.

 

I think you already guessed it from the look through the hole in the wall - the real image of this card is on the inside.

 

Ich habe mir hier einen quadratischen Bereich hinter dem Mauerloch maskiert und mit Distress Ink Prize Ribbon und Black Soot eingefärbt. Da ich bereits wusste, wo der Mond, der übrigens aus dem Stempelset Träume ist, sein sollte, habe ich den Bereich darunter mit Scattered Straw ein wenig gelb eingefärbt. 

Die Sterne sind mit weißer Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Den Mond habe ich mit Glow-in-the-Dark Embossingpulver embosst. Selbst bei Tag scheint er ein wenig zu Leuchten, was man auf den Fotos toll sehen kann. Ich habe den Mond auf weißen Cardstock embosst und dabei drei Lagen des Pulvers aufgetragen, so dass er auch überall schön leuchtet. Zwischen den Lagen habe ich die Lage darunter jeweils embosst. Dann habe ich ihn ausgeschnitten und auf den Himmel geklebt.

Und dann kommt die süße Fledermaus aus dem Stempelset von Oma Plott. Oh, die ist so goldig! Ich habe sie mit Copics coloriert, ausgeschnitten und den Ast mit der Fledermaus so auf den Himmel geklebt, dass der Ast direkt am Ende der Karte endet. Den leicht abgeschrägten Bereich hier habe ich einfach weggeschnitten.

Zum Schluss fehlte nur noch ein Text und ich fand, das Boo! aus dem selben Stempelset sagt alles. Also habe ich es mit schwarzer Tinte unter die Szene ins Innere der Karte gestempelt.

Here I masked of a square area behind the hole in the wall and inked it up with Distress Oxide Prize Ribbon and Black Soot. Since I already knew where I wanted my moon to be I used Scattered Straw to add a glow to the area around it.

The stars are made by spritzing some white acrylic paint onto the sky.

The moon is heat embossed with glow-in-the-dark embossing powder. I even seems to glow during the day, as you can see on the pictures. I heat embossed the moon onto white cardstock and used three layers of embossing powder to make sure it's completly embossed and the glow-in-the-dark pieces are evenly spread over the whole moon. Inbetween stamping the layers I heat embossed the previous layer to be able to stamp the moon again on top. Then I cut it out and glued it onto the sky.

And then there's this cute bat from the Halloween stamp set. I just love it! I colored it with Copics, cut it out and glued the branch with the bat onto the sky, making sure the branch ends at the edge of my card. There's a little slanted end on the branch that I cut off to have a straight edge here.

In the end my card needed a text. I thought, a boo! would say it all. So I stamped that under the scene on the inside of the card, using black ink.

2021 Card Design Superstar - Karte 2

Heute zeige ich Euch meine 2. Karte für den Card Design Superstar Contest 2021 auf dem MFT Blog. Diese ist für die Coloring Virtuoso Kategorie enstanden.

Today I am sharing my 2nd card for the Card Design Superstar Contest 2021 over at the MFT Blog. This one was made for the Coloring Virtuoso category.

Den Hintergrund hier habe ich mit Distress Spray Stain Wilted Violet, Hickory Smoke und Black Soot gemacht. Den Bereich für den Mond hatte ich zuvor mit einem Kreis aus Yupo abgedeckt und später nochmal ein wenig Wasser darauf gespritzt. So zieht es die Farbe ein wenig in den Mond hinein und es entsteht der tolle Grusel-Effekt.

Nach dem Trocknen des Hintergrundes habe ich zuerst weiße Acrylfarbe als Sterne aufgespritzt, anschließend habe ich die Bäume mit Polychromos in zwei verschiedenen Lilatönen sowie schwarz per Hand dazugemalt. Ich habe sie einfach "frei Schnauze" aufgezeichnet und dann die Farben intensiviert.

Und weil ich ein wenig Nebel in meine Szene integrieren wollte, habe ich mit einem Schwämmchen ein wenig weiße Stempelfarbe über den Bereich, unter dem später mein Gras sein sollte, aufgetupft und ein wenig verwischt. Von rechts habe ich noch einen weiteren Nebelschwaden ein wenig höher eingearbeitet.

For the Background I used Distress Spray Stain Wilted Violet, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. I had used a circle cut from Yupo to cover the area for the moon and later spitzed a bit of water onto it. This makes the color move from the outside inwards and creates this great creepy effect.

After the background had dried I first used some white acrylic paint to spritz a few stars onto the background, then used Polychromos in two different shades of purple and black to add the trees by hand. I simply drew them down lightly, then intensified the color after I liked the placement.

I felt like this Halloween scene needed a bit of fog. So I used a sponge dauber to dab on some white ink above the area where I wanted my grass to be and lightly blended it out.  I also added another bit of fog  on the right side, putting it up a bit.

Hier seht Ihr den Mond und Himmel sowie einen Teil der Bäume nochmal genauer. Auch der Nebel ist hier gut zu sehen.

Den Text aus dem Stempelset Sweet Little Spell habe ich mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und anschließend quer über den Mond geklebt. Eigentlich ist der Text zweizeilig, ich habe ihn aber nach dem Stempeln der oberen Zeile so verschoben, dass er einzeilig gestempelt werden kann.

Here you get a closer look at the moon and sky and also a part of the trees. Also the fog can be seen here wonderfully.

The text is from the Sweet Little Spell stamp set. I white heat embossed it onto a strip of black cardstock and then glued it across the moon. The text is originally divided into two lines. After stamping the first line I moved my paper so I was able to stamp it in one line.

Wie schon erwähnt, habe ich im unteren Bereich eine Lage Gras als Boden gesetzt. Das habe ich mit einer der Grassy Hills Edges aus grauem Cardstock gestanzt und aufgeklebt.

Und dann kamen meine Motive. Alle sind mit eine Kombination aus Copics und Polychromos coloriert. Ich wollte meiner Katze aus dem Stempelset Witch Way is the Candy einen etwas flauschigen Look verleihen, mit vielen abstehenden Haaren. Das hat das Ausschneiden ein wenig erschwert, ging aber doch ganz gut.

Die Kürbisse sind aus dem Stempelset Autumn Blessings, der Grabstein aus dem Set Ghostly Greetings. Den habe ich mit einigen Rissen versehen. Der Text darauf sowie der Rabe, der so schön arrogant darauf sitzt, sind beide aus dem Stempelset Grave Situation. Den Namen auf dem Grabstein habe ich mit goldenem Embossingpulver aufembosst, und es dabei absichtlich ein wenig "bröselig" aussehen lassen, so, als würde die goldene Schrift schon ein wenig abblättern. 

Den Besen hält eigentlich die süße Hexe aus dem Stempelset Sweet Little Spell in der Hand. Ich habe den oberen Teil bis zur Hand abgestempelt, dann mein Papier verschoben und anschließend den Teil unterhalb der Hand passend angestempelt. So wurde der Besen ein wenig kürzer - er wäre sonst zu lang gewesen - und ich musste die arme Hexe nicht zerschneiden.

Da mir rechts noch ein kleines Motiv fehlte, auf das die Katze so erschrocken schauen kann, habe ich hier noch einen der Frösche aus dem Stempelset Lucky Duck hinter den Kürbis gesetzt.

Ich habe alle Motive zusammengeklebt und anschließend dahinter noch den Spooky Fence gesetzt. Der ist eigentlich viel niedriger und stanzt einen hügeligen Boden mit. Ich habe die Zaunlatten in diesen Boden hinein mit der Schere verlängert und die Zwischenstücke herausgeschnitten. Dann habe ich ihn mit weißer Stempelfarbe an den Spitzen ein wenig aufgehellt, als würde der Mondschein darauf fallen, und den Zaun hinter meine Motive geklebt.

Anschließend habe ich alles auf das Gras gestempelt und passend zu den Motiven sowie den Bäumen Schatten mit grauen Copics hinzugefügt.

As mentioned above I added a layer of grass to the bottom of my card. I've die cut it with one of the Grassy Hills dies from grey cardstock and glued it down.

And then I added all my images. They are all colored with a combination of Copics and Polychromos.

I wanted my cat to look a bit ragedy with lot of hair sticking out of her. That made fussy cutting the image a bit harder, but it worked.

The pumpkins are from the Autumn Blessings stamp set, the tombstone from the Ghostly Greetings Set. I added a few cracks to it. The name on the stone and the crow that's sitting on top of it, are both from the Grave Situation stamp set. I used golden embossing powder to add the name to the stone and made it look a bit "crumb-ly" on purpose - I wanted it to look like the golden letters are already crumbling down a bit. 

The broom is the one the witch from the Sweet Little Spell stamp set is holding. I stamped the part above her hand, then moved my paper and stamped the part under her hand onto the part I had already stamped. That way I was able to make the broom a bit shorter - it would have been a bit too long otherwise - and also didn't have to cut apart the cute witch. 

Since I felt like there's a little image missing on the right - something the cat could look so spooked - I added one of the frogs from the Lucky Duck stamp set behind the pumpkin. 

I glued all images together and then put the Spooky Fence behind them. Originally it is way lower and also cuts a hill at the bottom. I simply used my scissors to cut the individual strips long, cutting into the hill, and cut out the areas inbetween them. Then I used some white ink to add a soft reflection of the moonlight to the tips of the fence and then glued it behind my images.

I glued them all down onto the grassy hill and then used some grey Copics to add some shadows to the grass, following the shape of the images and trees.

Um meinen Besen habe ich eine Spur Glitzer gelegt, der am Unterteil des Besens beginnt und sich dann um den Besenstiel herum nach oben windet. Ich wollte es so aussehen lassen, als wäre der Besen bereit, um jederzeit auf magische Weise loszufliegen. Dafür habe ich kleine Punkte mit einem weißen Gelpen sowie einem goldenen Gelpen aufgetupft und dazwischen noch ein paar Tupfer goldene Stickles verteilt.

I added a glittery trace to my broom, making it start at the bottom of the broom and then wind up around the broom stick. I wanted to add a bit of magic, like the broom is ready to fly off any minute now. To get that look I added small dots with white and gold gel pens and then added a few dots of golden Stickles in between.

Auf diesem letzten Bild habe ich noch versucht, den goldenen Glitzer um den Besen sowie auf dem Grabstein ein wenig besser einzufangen.

Ganz zum Schluss habe ich meine Szene schwarz gemattet und alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

On this last picture I tried to catch the golden glitter around the broom and the shine and texture on the name on the tombstone.

In the end I matted my scene with black cardstock and glued everything onto a white note card.

Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 18. September 2021

Kürbisse gehören für mich einfach zum Herbst - egal ob als Deko oder auf jede erdenkliche Art gekocht. Und auch als Geschenkverpackung sind sie für diese Jahreszeit wunderbar geeignet. Eine Idee zeigen wir Euch heute beim Stempeleinmaleins.

One good thing about fall are fresh pumpkins - and I love them both for decorating my home as well as cooking them for diner in any way possible. But they are also great to be used for gift wrapping. One idea of how to make a little pumpkin box is what we're sharing at Stempeleinmaleins today. 

 

 Wir haben ein kleines Kürbiskörbchen gemacht, allerdings ist es eher subjektiv ein Kürbis. Dafür kann man sich was die Deko anbelangt so richtig austoben. Die innere Box meines Körbchens ist aus dunkelorangefarbenem Cardstock gemacht, für die Aufleger habe ich gelb-orangenen Cardstock verwendet. 

Gefüllt ist mein Körbchen mit kraftfarbenen Papier-Shreddern, unter denen man prima das eigentliche Geschenk oder auch etwas Süßes verstecken kann.

This little basket looks more subjective like a pumpkin - but you can go wild when it comes to decorations. I made the inner box from some dark orange cardstock, the scalloped sides are made from a yellow-orange cardstock.

I filled my basket with some craft colored shredded paper, under which you can wonderfully hide a little gift or some candy. 

Die Seitenteile sind aus einem gewellten Kreis gemacht, von dem ein Stück abgeschnitten ist. Ich habe den orange-gelben Cardstock erst mit Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade von unten her schattiert, dann habe ich ihn mit dem Mosaic Gems 3D Embossingfolder von Sizzx geprägt. Anschließend habe ich unten die Farbe noch ein wenig mit Distress Ink Rusty Hinge intensiviert. Außerdem durften ein paar Spritzer goldener Metallik-Wasserfarbe nicht fehlen. Ohne die kann ich momentan einfach nicht.

Der Griff des Körbchens ist aus einem Streifen dunkelgrünen Cardstocks gemacht. Daran habe ich ein paar Blätter, etwas spiralförmig gerollten Cardstock und eine Schleife aus orange-weißem Twine gebunden. Die Blätter sind aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock, grünem Spiegelcardstock sowie mattem goldenen Cardstock gestanzt. Dafür habe ich Stanzen aus dem Set Skeleton Leaves von Sizzix sowie die Grand Greenery Outline und Grand Greenery Solid Sets von MFT benutzt.

Der Text ist aus dem Stempelset Autumn Blessings, ebenfalls von MFT. Ich habe ihn mit weißem Embossingpulver auf dunkelgrünen Cardstock embosst und unten quer über das Körbchen geklebt. Dann kamen noch ein paar grüne Enamel Dots als Deko auf den Kürbis.

The front and back of the basket are made from a scalloped circle, from which I've cut a part off. I shaded the orange-yellow cardstock with Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade first, then run it through my Big Shot with the Mosaic Gems 3D Embossing Folder by Sizzix. Then I used Distress Ink Rusty Hinge to intensify the color at the bottom and also added some splatters of golden metallic watercolor. I just can't live without these at the moment.

The handle of the basket is made from a strip of dark green cardstock. I tied some leaves, curled up paper strips and a bow from orange and white twine to it. The leaves are die cut from dark cardstock, green mirror cardstock and some matt gold cardstock using the Skeleton Leaves die set by Sizzix and the Grand Greenery Outline and Grand Greenery Solid die sets by MFT.

Also the text ist from by MFT, it's from the Autumn Blessings stamp set. I've white heat embossed it onto dark green cardstock and glued it across the bottom of my basket. Then I added a few green Enamel Dots.

Eine Mini-Slimline Card zu Halloween

Heute zeige ich auf dem Stampcorner-Blog meine erste Mini-Slimline Card. Ich mag die Slimline in "Normalgröße" ja eigentlich echt gerne, aber die Mini Slimline finde ich vom Format her auch super interessant. Und so ist diese - im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes - kleine Halloween-Karte entstanden.

Today I am sharing my very first mini slimline card over at the Stampcorner Blog. I love the "regular" sized slimline cards, but the mini ones are even more fun to make. And so I made this - literally - small card.

Inzwischen gibt es ja auch Mini-Slimline Stanzen, und die machen das Fertigen dieser kleinen Kärtchen noch schneller. Ich habe mir das Mini Slimline and Envelope Stanzenset von CarlijnDesign gekauft. Da ist neben verschieden großen Auflegern auch noch eine Stanze für einen passenden Umschlag dabei. Den habe ich hier zwar nicht verwendet, dafür aber einige der Aufleger.

Mit dem größten davon habe ich die Kartenbasis gewerkelt. Dafür habe ich ein Stück Cardstock mittig gefaltet und die Stanze so daraufgelegt, dass die Schneidkante direkt an der Falz liegt. Auf diese Weise habe ich rundherum einen gestitchten Rand und trotzdem eine seitlich aufklappbare Karte. 

Darauf kam der gewellte Aufleger. Den habe ich aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und die Ränder mit schwarzem Glitzer-Embossinpulver ganz unregelmäßig embosst. Schwarzer Glitter und Halloween gehen einfach perfekt zusammen..

Und dann habe ich die nächst kleinere Größe eines geraden Auflegers aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Darauf habe ich dann mit der Texture Paste Crackle von Ranger und dem tollen Blätterstencil von Stampcorner das Blattmuster aufgetragen. Nach dem Trocknen zeigen sich die Risse und ich habe meinen Aufleger mit Distress Oxide Crackling Campfire, Shabby Shutters und Scattered Straw gewischt. Anschließend habe ich großzügig Wasser darüber gesprüht. So läuft die Farbe in die Vertiefungen und Risse in der Paste. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich den Vorgang nochmal wiederholt, so sieht man auch auf der Paste Farbspritzer. Zum Schluss habe ich am Rand ein klein wenig Distress Oxide Black Soot aufgewischt/aufgetupft.

Und weil mir meine weiße Karte nun viel zu hart im Kontrast war, habe ich auch die mit Distress Oxide Crackling Campfire, Shabby Shutters und Scattered Straw fleckig eingewischt und die Ränder wieder mit Black Soot betupft.

Beim Aufeinanderkleben habe ich dann zwischen den schwarzen Cardstock und den Aufleger mit dem Blattmuster ein wenig Cheesecloth mit eingelegt.

There are quite a few mini slimline dies out there by now, which makes making those little cards even faster. I got myself the Mini Slimline and Envelope die by CarlijnDesign. This set does not only have different sizes of rectnagles, some of them with shaped edges, but also a die to make a matching envelope. I didn't use this here, but I did use a few of the rectangles here.

I used the largest one for my card base by scoring a long strip of white cardstock in half, then placing the fold exactly next to the cutting line. This way I did get the stitched details all around the card base but still ended up with a foldable card.

On top I placed a scalloped rectangle, cut from black cardstock. I then used black glitter embossing powder on the scallops, adding the embossing ink very randomly so some of the black cardstock stays visible. Black glitter and Halloween are a perfect match for me.

And then I used the next smaller die to die cut another rectangle from white cardstock. I covered it with Texture Paste Rectangle by Ranger through a leave stencil by Stampcorner. After the paste dries the cracks show up. I covered it with Distress Oxide Crackling Campfire, Shabby Shutters and Scattered Straw and generously misted it with water, so the ink would flow into the cracks and the open areas in the stencil. After the ink had dried, I repeated the process again so there's also some color left on top of the paste. In the end I used Distress Oxide Black Soot to lightly ink around the edges.

And since the white card base was way too hard in contrast now, I used the same Distress Oxide inks to color it in randomly, also inking up the edges black again

When glueing all these layers together I put a bit of cheesecloth between the black cardstock and the piece with the stenciled on leaves.

Als Motiv habe ich diese beiden Süßen aus dem neuen Halloween-Set von Oma Plott verwendet. Beide sind mit Copics coloriert, bei der Farbwahl habe ich mich an den Farben, die ich auch für den Hintergrund verwendet habe, orientiert. 

Die Highlights sind mit einem weißen Gelpen gemacht. 

As the images I picked those two cuties from a new Halloween stamp set by Stampcorner. Both are colored in with Copics. When picking my colors for the coloring I oriented myself on the colors I had used on the background.

The highlights are again made with a white gel pen.

Ein Text durfte natürlich auch nicht fehlen.

Das Happy habe ich mit der Happy Stanze von WhimsyStamps einige Male aus weißem Cardstock und einmal aus schwarzem Glittercardstock gestanzt und alle aufeinander geklebt, die schwarze Glitter-Lage oben auf. Dann habe ich das gestanzte Wort auf den Hintegrund geklebt und den Text mit zwei Stempeln aus dem Spooky Village Stempelset von LawnFawn ergänzt. Die habe ich mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und über bzw. unter das Happy aufgeklebt.

Of course my card needed a text.

I used the Happy die by WhimsyStamps to die cut the word a few times from white cardstock and once from black glitter cardstock. I stacked those up, putting the glittery word on top, then glued it onto the background. I finished the text by using two stamps from the Spooky Village stamp set by LawnFawn. I white heat embossed them onto strips of black cardstock and then glued these above and under the die cut word.

MFT's 2021 Card Design Superstar

Es ist wieder soweit - der alljährliche Card Design Superstar Contest auf dem MFT Blog ist wieder gestartet. Und ich habe heute meine erste Karte dafür gewerkelt.

It's happening again - the yearly Card Design Superstar Contest over at the MFT Blog has started again. And today I made my first card for it.

 

 Wie auch die letzten Jahre ist der Contest in drei Kategorien aufgeteilt. Man kann für jede Kategorie eine eigene Karte einreichen. Ich starte gerne mit der Clean and Simple Genius Kategorie. Während dem Werkeln mache ich mir dann Gedanken, was ich für die anderen beiden Kategorien machen könnte. Und ich habe schon Ideen dafür. 

Jetzt aber zur Clean and Simple Card. Ich habe hier mit dem Natural Dye Ink Pad von MFT den Woodplank Background auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. Ein rein weißer Hintergrund war mir zu fad, aber das zarte Holzmuster hier zieht nicht zu viel Aufmerksamkeit auf sich und passt außerdem super zum herbstlichen Thema meiner Karte.

Für ein wenig herbst-goldenen Schimmer habe ich ein paar Spritzer goldener Metallik-Watercolor auf dem Holzhintergrund verteilt.

Den weißen Cardstock habe ich dann mit hellem kraftfarbenem Cardstock gemattet und beides auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

As the years ago the contest is again split up into three categories. You can make a card for each categorie. I like to start with the Clean and Simple Genius one. And while making it I think about what I could make for the other two. And I already have ideas.

But now to this Clean and Simple card. Here I stamped the Woodplank Background onto a piece of white cardstock using the Natural Dye Ink Pad by MFT. A plain white background wouldn't have worked for me here, so I picked this soft wood pattern. It doesn't draw too much attention away from the image and text and also goes great with the fall theme of my card.

To add a bit of a fallish golden shimmer I added some splatters of golden metallic watercolors.

I matted the white cardstock with some light craft colored cardstock and then glued both layers onto a white note card.

Als Motiv habe ich den tollen Winter Wreath gewählt, der auch super zum Herbst passt. 

Ich habe erst mit der dazugehörigen Stanze ein Stück weißen Cardstocks gestanzt und dann darauf den Kranz gestempelt. So konnte ich sicherstellen, dass der schmale Teil des Kreises auch schön rund abgestempelt wird. 

Ich habe die Blätter dann mit Copics coloriert und ein paar kleine Stellen mit Polychromos intensiviert. Auf die Beeren im Kranz habe ich rote und goldfarbene Stickles aufgetragen.

Der Text ist aus dem Stempelset Autumn Blessings. Es ist ein kompletter Text - damit ich ihn problemlos auf zwei Teile aufteilen und das Wort autumn mehrfarbig stempeln konnte, habe ich bei einer kleinen Stempel-OP den Text auseinandergeschnitten. 

Das Wort autumn ist mit Distress Oxides Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, Candied Apple, Fired Brick und Aged Mahogany gestempelt. Dabei habe ich bei der hellsten Farbe den Text vollflächig eingefärbt und abgestempelt, je dunkler die Farbe wurde, desto weniger Fläche des Stempels habe ich eingefärbt. So ist ein toller Ombre-Look entstanden. 

Das Wort Blessings habe ich dann weiß auf einen Streifen grau-grünen Cardstocks embosst, der zu der Farbe passt, die ich auch für einige der Blätter verwendet habe. Mit einer der Little Notes Sentiment Strips Stanzen habe ich ihn dann ausgestanzt. Damit der Streifen kurz und niedrig genug wird, habe ich den Cardstock in der Stanze einfach ein paar Mal verschoben und erneut gestanzt.  Den Streifen habe ich mit dunkelbraunem Cardstock gemattet.

Damit der Kranz etwas mehr Dimension bekommt, habe ich mit der eigentlichen Outlinestanze die Form drei weitere Male ausgestanzt, alles aufeinander gesetzt und zu oberst das Teil mit dem Motiv aufgeklebt. 

Ich habe den Kranz auf den Hintergrund geklebt, das Wort Autumn per Hand ausgeschnitten und mit 3D Tape in/über den Kranz geklebt und darunter dann den Cardstockstreifen mit dem Wort Blessings mit dünnerem 3D Tape befestigt.

 

As the image I picked the great Winter Wreath, that's also perfect for a fall themed card.

First I die cut the shape of the matching die from white cardstock, then stamped the wreath onto it. That way I was able to make sure that the thin line is in the perfect rounded shape.

I colored the leaves with Copics, then intensified a few areas with Polychromos. And I put some red and golden Stickles onto the berries.

The text is from the Autumn Blessings stamp set. It's one stamp - to be able to stamp the word autumn in several colors I did a little stamp surgery and cut the stamp into two pieces.

To stamp the word autumn I used Distress Oxides Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, Candied Apple, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany. When stamping the lightest color I inked up the whole word, the darker the ink I used the less of the word got inked up. That way I ended up with a great ombre look.

The word blessings is white heat embossed onto a piece of grey-ish green cardstock, that matches the color I used for some of the leaves. I used one of the Little Notes Sentiment Strip dies to cut it out. To make my strip match the hight and length of my embossed word, I moved the cardstock in the die a few times and die cut it again. Then I matted this text strip with some dark brown cardstock.

To give some dimension to the wreath I die cut three more of the outline die, stacked these on top of each other and then glued the one with the image down as the top layer.

 I glued the wreath onto the background, then fussy cut the word autum and glued it across the wreath with dimensionals. Next I added the cardstock strip with the word blessings embossed onto it, using some thinner dimensionals.

Um den Glitzer auf den Beeren nochmal aufzugreifen, habe ich noch ein paar rot-glitzernde Dots auf der Karte verteilt.

To pick up the glitter from the berries again, I added a few red glitter dots to my card.

Diese Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stamping-Fairies Blog zeige, fällt wieder unter die Kategorie "alter Stempel". Und ich habe hier gleich wieder mehrere ältere Sets kombiniert.

This card, that I'm sharing over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today, is another one from my "use an old stamp set" series. And again I used not one, but a few older sets.

 

Die Anfangsidee für diese Karte kam mir, als ich eine Stanze aus dem August Release von MFT gesehen habe. Die stanzt einen kompletten Kartenaufleger in verschieden geformte Stücke in unterschiedlicher Größe. Und das hat mich an das Abstract Doodles Stempelset erinnert. Das ist sicherlich nicht das populärste Stempelset von MFT - völlig zu unrecht, wie ich finde. Also habe ich es verwendet, um einen fröhlich-bunten Hintergrund für diese Karte zu gestalten.

Nachdem der Hintergrund so bunt ist, habe ich viel weiß meines Kartenrohlings sichbar gelassen, um das Design ein wenig auszubalancieren.

The initial idea for this card came after seeing one of the dies from MFT's august release. They released a die that cuts a card sized panel into different shaped pieces in different sizes. And that reminded me of the Abstract Doodles stamp set. It's for sure not the most loved one by MFT - and I think it doesn't deserve it, since it's really versatile. And so I used it to create a colorful background on this card.

Since the background is so bright and colorful I kept a lot of white of my note card visible to kind of balance the design out.

Ich habe den Linienstempel aus dem Abstract Doodles Stempelset mit schwarzer Tinte auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt und dann mit Watercolors eingefärbt. Ja, irgendwie haben die es mir momentan angetan... Ich habe zu Halloween passend Watercolors in Orange, Grün und Lila verwendet und die einzelnen Flächen des Hintergrundes eingefärbt. Dann habe ich es so zugeschnitten, dass keine offenen Linien mehr sichtbar sind und der Hintergrund den kompletten Cardstock bedeckt. 

Darüber habe ich den Ghoulish Greetings Background gestempelt. Zuerst hatte ich weiße Stempelfarbe benutzt, die hat aber die Watercolors darunter wieder angelöst, die Farbe ein wenig angenommen und war somit kaum erkennbar. Also habe ich einfach weißes Embossingpulver darübergestreut und den Text weiß embosst.

I stamped the doodles stamp from the Abstract Doodles stamp set with black ink onto a piece of watercolor paper and then colored it in with watercolors. Yes, somehow I am using those quite often lately... I picked orange, green and purple colors that are typically halloween-ish to color the different areas in. Then I cut the panel down so I didn't have any open ends left and the complete cardstock was covered with the stamp.

On top I stamped the Ghoulish Greetings Background. First I had used white ink, but that picked up the watercolors, I guess due to the water in the ink, and so it was bearly visible anymore. So I simply put some white embossing powder on top and heat embossed the text.

Und dann brauchte meine Karte noch ein Motiv. Ich habe hier Motive aus dem Set Ghostly Greetings benutzt. Die Geister hatte ich zuerst auf Vellum weiß embosst, aber der Hintegrund war einfach zu farbstark, auch durch das Vellum hindurch. Also habe ich sie nochmal auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und über die Geister aus Vellum geklebt. Weil mir schwarze Outlines für die Geister zu stark gewesen wären, habe ich die mit grauer Tinte und Second Generation Stamping gemacht, die graue Farbe also erst einmal auf Schmierpapier gestempelt und dann einen zweiten Abdruck mit dem Stempel gemacht, ohne neu Farbe aufzunehmen. So sind die Linien sichtbar und passen trotzdem zu einem Geist.

Der Kürbis ist wieder mit Watercolors coloriert. 

Fledermaus und Totenkopf sind einfach schwarz abgestempelt und aufgeklebt. Dem Totenkopf habe ich noch zwei Augen aus grünen Glitzersteinen gegeben. 

Der Text ist aus dem Best Witches Stempelset. Ich habe ihn weiß auf einen Streifen lilafarbenen Cardstocks embosst und dann mit einem der Banner aus dem Blueprints 33 Stanzenset ausgestanzt. Dahinter habe ich noch ein Banner aus schwarzem Cardstock geklebt.

Zum Schluss kamen noch ein paar schwarze Enamel Accents als Deko auf die Karte.

And then my card needed some images. I used the Ghostly Greetings stamp set here. First I had white heat embossed the ghosts onto some vellum, but the background was just too bright, also through the vellum. So stamped them onto white cardstock again and glued them on top of the vellum ghosts. Black outlines would have been too hard for the ghosts here, so I used some grey ink and did some second generation stamping. Meaning, I inked up the stamp with grey ink, stamped it onto some printer paper and then on my white cardstock without inking it up again. Now the lines are visible but still soft enough for a ghost.

The pumpkin is again colored with watercolors.

Bat and skull are simply stamped with black ink and glued onto the card. I added two green rhinestones to the skull's eyes.

The text ist from the Best Witches stamp set. I white heat embossed it onto purple cardstock, then cut it out with one of the banner dies from the Blueprint 33 die set. Behind it I glued another banner, cut from black cardstock.

In the end I added a few black Enamel Accents for decorations.

Eine Herbstkarte mit Glow-Stamping

Durch einen IG Post von Jennifer McGuire bin ich auf ihre Share Handmade Kindness Gruppe auf FB gestoßen - eine tolle Gruppe, in der es ums Basteln geht, und nur darum. Dramafrei, politikfrei dafür voller lieber Worte und toller Inspirationen/Werke. 

Dort gibt es einmal im Monat eine Challenge, bei der ein Technikvideo von Jennifer gewählt wird, mit der Technik soll ein Werk gemacht werden. Für September ist es "Glow Stamping" - und ich muss sagen, das ist ein Video, das absolut an mir vorbeigegangen ist. Kommt sehr selten vor. Also, die Technik musste probiert werden. Und das ist meine Karte.

Due to a IG post by Jennifer McGuire I found her Share Handmade Kindess group on FB - a great group all around crafting, and only about crafting. Drama free, no politics but lots of kind words and great inspirations/crafts.

They do a challenge each month where a technique video by Jennifer gets picked and you have to use that technique for a card/craft project. For september it's Glow Stamping - and I have to admit, I so missed this video. I have no idea how that happened, since I barely miss any of her videos since 2 years or so. So, I had to give it a try, and this is the card I ended up with.

Beim Glow Stamping wird ein Motiv erst mit weißer Stempelfarbe auf dunklen/farbigen Cardstock gestempelt, nach dem Trocknen kommt farbige Tinte darüber. Dadurch bekommt das Motiv eine Art von Leuchten. Ein toller Effekt.

Jetzt bin ich ja eigentlich eher der Cute-Stempler, der mit colorierten Motiven arbeitet. Und es war echt schwer, einen flächig stempelnden Stempel in meinen Schränken zu finden. Geworden ist es dann das Fall Flowers Stempelset von Clearly Besotted, in dem tolle flächige Blätter enthalten sind. 

Jennifer arbeitet in ihrem Video mit Hintergrundstempeln, was natürlich viel schneller geht, als ein Motiv abzustempeln, trocknen zu lassen, farbig zu stempeln und dann zum nächsten Motiv zu gehen. Hat sich schon ein wenig gezogen, aber ich habe die Zeit dazwischen für andere Projekte genutzt. Offenbar habe ich nicht lang genug gewartet, denn teilweise hat die farbige Tinte nicht so toll auf der weißen Farbe gehalten. Und weil es doch ein wenig gedauert hat, habe ich nur einige Blätter im Hintergrund quer über die Karte gestempelt. Aber das Leuchten sieht man, finde ich!

Für den Hintergrund habe ich den Stitched Woodgrain Backdrop von LawnFawn aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt und die Ränder mit Distress Ink Vintage Photo und Ground Espresso gewischt, was auch die Holzlinien mehr zum Vorschein gebracht hat. Auf dem Hintergrund habe ich ein paar goldene Shimmer Watercolor-Spritzer verteilt. 

When Glow Stamping, you stamp a solid image with white ink onto dark/colored cardstock first, after letting the ink dry the image gets stamped again with colored ink. That makes the image kind of glow - a great effect.

Well, I am a cute stamper using mainly colored images and finding a solid stamped image in my stash was a challenge. But I had this Fall Flowers stamp set by Clearly Besotted with lots of great solid leaves.

Jennifer is using background stamps in her video, and that way her glow stamping is done way faster than when using an individual stamp, letting the white ink dry, stamp on top with colored ink and then move on to the next image. It took some time, but I used that to work on another project. Seems like I didn't wait long enough for the ink to dry because it kind of stamped off when doing the next image, but that's fine with me. I only stamped a few leaves across my background because it really was time comsuming that way. But I think you can see the glow on the leaves.

For the background I've die cut the Stitched Woodgrain Backdrop by LawnFawn from brown cardstock and inked it from the edges with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso, what also brought out the stitched lines some more. Onto the background I splattered some drops of golden shimmer watercolor.

Hier sieht man die Blätter besser. Ich habe sie mit Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple, Fired Brick und Vintage Photo gestempelt und je dunkler die Farbe wurde, immer kleinere Flächen eingefärbt. Lustigerweise sind die Blätter, die ich mit Fired Brick gestempelt habe, nach dem Trocknen lila geworden. Passt aber auch, finde ich. Auf diesen beiden dunklen Blättern habe ich dann noch die Outlines und Blattadern, die extra Stempel im Set sind, aufgestempelt.

Rechts und links habe ich jeweils noch einen kleinen Tannenzweig aus dem Handlettered Holiday Greetings Set mit aufgestempelt und dafür Distress Oxide Peeled Paint und Rustic Wilderness verwendet. 

Vor die Blätter habe ich zwei Kürbisse gesetzt. Sie sind, ebenso wie das Wort Autumn, aus dem Stempelset Autumn Blessings von MFT. Ich habe sie per No-Line Coloring mit Copics und Polychromos coloriert. 

Für das Wort Autumn habe ich einige der Farben benutzt, mit denen ich auch die Blätter gestempelt habe, und das Wort im Ombre-Look gestempelt.

Die Texte sind weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich alle Elemente, teilweise mit 3D Tape in zwei Stärken, auf die Karte geklebt.

Und in einem Video von Sandy Allnock hatte ich die "Glitzerspur" gesehen. Naja, warum nicht, habe ich mir gedacht. Die Karte hier ist zwar nicht irgendwie "magisch", aber ich finde, sie macht sich dort trotzdem super.

Zum Schluss habe ich noch ein paar gold-glitzernde Enamel Dots auf der Karte verteilt und einen dünnen Rahmen, gestanzt aus goldenem Glittercardstock, aufgeklebt. Goldener Herbst, eben!

Here you get a better look at the leaves. I stamped those with Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple, Fired Brick and Vintage Photo onto the images stamped with white ink and inked up less areas the darker my ink got. Funny that the leaves stamped with Fired Brick turned purple after they had dried completly, but I think it goes great with the card as well. Onto those two dark leaves I decided to add the outlines that are an extra stamp in the set.

On the left and right I added a little pine branch from the Handlettered Holiday Greetings stamp set by MFT and used Distress Oxide Peeled Paint and Rustic Wilderness to stamp them.

Onto the leaves I added two pumkins. Those and the word autumn are from the Autumn Blessings stamp set by MFT. I did some no-line coloring here using my Copics and Polychromos.

For the word autumn I used some of the colors I also used to stamp the leaves and did the word in an ombre look.

The texts are white heat embossed onto black cardstock. Then I glued down all elements, using foam tape in two different thicknesses for some of them.

And in a video by Sandy Allnock I saw her adding these "glitter trails" with a white gel pen. Why not try it for this card, even if it isn't any kind of magic related. And I really like it!

In the end I added a few golden glitter Enamel Dots and a thin frame, die cut from golden glitter cardstock. It's the golden season, right?

Ein Hai zum Geburtstag

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Der Freund einer meiner Töchter hatte Geburtstag, klar, dass er da auch eine Karte bekommt. Er surft und wakeboarded viel und gern - da war der geniale Hai von WhimsyStamps ein Must Have für mich und perfekt für diese Karte.

One of my daughter's boy friend just celebrated his birthday and of course I made him a card. He loves to surf and wakeboard - so this great shark image by WhimsyStamps was a must have for me and perfect for his card.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich den Sunburst Backdrop von LawnFawn aus weißem Cardstock ausgestanzt und dann mit Distress Oxide Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire, Wilted Violet und Chipped Sapphire gewischt. Für den oxidierten Effekt habe ich ein paar Wassertropfen darüber gespritzt. 

Darüber kam dann die Aloha Cover Plate Stanze von HeroArts, gestanzt aus schwarzem Cardstock. In der schmalen Linie oben steht eigentlich Aloha, daher der Name. Ich habe die Buchstaben hier rausgeschnitten und durch in der Größe passende für das Wort Happy ersetzt. Dafür habe ich das Captions Alphabet von MFT verwendet. Auch die Berge, die hinter dem Meer aufsteigen, habe ich weggeschnitten.

Den Sand und das Meer habe ich aus braunem bzw. türkisfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und hinter die Palmen geklebt.

Um den Text zu ergänzen, habe ich mit der Happy Birthday Script Stanze nur das Wort Birthday aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und auf den Hintergrund aufgeklebt.

For the background I've die cut the Sunburst Backdrop by LawnFawn from white cardstock and inked it up with Distress Oxide Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire, Wilted Violet and Chipped Sapphire. For the oxide effect I sprinkled a few drops of water over the cardstock.

On top I glued the Aloha Cover Plate by HeroArts, die cut from black cardstock. Oringially there's the word Aloha written between the two lines across the die - hence the name. I've cut out the letters and replaced them with individual ones in about the same size to write the word happy. I used the Captions Alphabet by MFT here. I also cut off the mountains that are behind the ocean in the original die cut piece.

I've die cut the sand and the ocean from brown and turquoise cardstock and glued those behind the palm trees.

To finish the text I've die cut the word Birthday from black cardstock using the Happy Birthday Script die by MFT and then glued it across the background.

Und hier ist der geniale Hai aus dem Stempelset Surf Shark von WhimsyStamps. Ich habe ihn mit Copics coloriert und für den Hawai-Hemd Look  ein paar winzige Blumen auf die Badeshorts gestempelt.

Dann habe ich den Hai ausgeschnitten und auf die Szene aufgeklebt.

And here's the amaing shark from the Surf Shark stamp set by WhimsyStamps. I colored him in with Copics and stamped a few tiny flowers onto his surf shorts for a Hawaiian shirt kind of look. 

Then I cut him out and glued him onto the scene.

LawnFawnatics Challenge #108

An der letzten LawnFawnatics Challenge konnte ich nicht mitmachen, da wir im Urlaub waren. Für die neue Challenge #108 aber habe ich dann wieder eine Karte geschafft.

Das Thema der Challenge ist ein Inspirations-Foto, das mich an einen Nachthimmel  mit Polarlicht erinnert hat. Ich zeige Euch das Bild mal:

We were on vacation so I didn't have a chance to participate in the last LawnFawnatics Challenge. But for the new challenge #108 I got a card done.

The theme is an inspiration photo, that reminds me of a night sky with polar lights. I am going to share that picture with you:

Ja, Ozean wäre auch gegangen, aber basteltechnisch bin ich mit dem Sommer irgendwie durch. Und so ist diese Karte mit interaktivem Element entstanden.

Yes, it could also be some tropical waters, but I am done with summer, at least craftwise. And so I made this card with an interactive element.

Ich habe hier endlich den Forest Backdrop eingeweiht - und so sitzen die beiden Eichhörnchen auf einer Waldlichtung und schauen in den Sternenhimmel. Und siehe da, da fällt eine Sternschnuppe! 

Ich habe den Forest Backdrop aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und den Rand entlang des Ausschnitts mit Distress Oxide Prize Ribbon ein wenig eingefärbt, so dass er zum Nachthimmel passt. Außenherum habe ich den schwarzen Cardstock sichtbar gelassen.

Aus zwei verschiedenen Grüntönen habe ich zusätzlich noch weitere Bäume sowie zwei Hügel gestanzt. Die Bäume sind im Set mit dem Hintergrund enthalten, für die Hügel habe ich die Slimeline Stitched Hills Stanzen benutzt. Den etwas dunkleren Cardstock habe ich jeweils von unten her mit Distress Oxide Black Soot, den helleren mit Forest Moss eingefärbt. Außerdem habe ich ein paar Spritzer Schimmer-Watercolor auf den Stanzteilen verteilt. Da ich keinen passenden Grünton hatte, habe ich gold und grün vermischt und für die dunkleren Teile noch etwas schwarz hinzugefügt. 

Die Bäume im Vordergrund sind mit Distress Oxide Forest Moss eingefärbt. Irgendwie hat der Cardstock die grüne Tinte aufgesogen, so dass nur die weißen Pigmente sichtbar blieben. 

Ich habe alle Teile mit 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt.

Here I finally used the Forest Backdrop - and so these two squirrels are sitting on a clearing, watching the night sky. And just in that moment a star is falling down!

I've die cut the Forest Backdrop from black cardstock and inked up the area close to the cut out with Distress Oxide Prize Ribbon to make it match the night sky. I left the black cardstock visible at the outer edges.

I used two different tones of green cardstock to cut more trees and two hills. The trees come in the Forest Backdrop die set, for the hills I used the Slimline Stitched Hills dies. I inked up the pieces cut from darker green cardstock with Distress Oxide Black Soot and Forest Moss for the lighter pieces. I also spritzed some metallic watercolors onto all these die cuts. Since I didn't have a matching green I simply mixed some gold and green and added a bit of black for the splatters on the darker die cuts. 

The trees in the foreground are inked up with Distress Oxide Forest Moss. Somehow the cardstock seems to have soaked up all the green ink so only the white pigments are left visible. 

I glued all pieces on top of each other with foam tape.

Für den Nachthimmel war ich ein wenig zwischen Alcohol Inks und Brushos hin- und hergerissen. Da ich aber ein wenig Angst hatte, dass die Alcohol Inks ein wenig klebrig bleiben und somit den Mechanismus stören könnten, habe ich mich für Brushos entschieden. Die fristen hier eh ein jämmerliches Dasein... Ich habe blaue und grüne Pigmente auf Watercolor Cardstock gestreut, Wasser darüber gespritzt und alles mit dem Air Blower von Tim Holtz verwischt. Ich denke, so habe ich das Inspirationsphoto ganz gut wiedergegeben. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich noch weiße Acrylfarbe als Sterne über den Hintergrund gespritzt.

Die Sterne und der Mond sind auch aus dem Forest Backdrop Stanzenset. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. 

Die beiden süßen Eichhörnchen sind aus dem Stempelset Happy Hugs. Ich finde, die beiden passen einfach perfekt zum Text, den ich für diese Karte verwendet habe.

For the night sky I was torn between using Alcohol Inks and Brushos. Since I was afraid the Alcohol Inks might stay a bit sticky and so disturb the mechanism I went with the Brushos. I really use these like once in two years so it was time again... I sprinkled some blue and green pigments onto some watercolor cardstock, misted the cardstock with water and then used my Air Blower by Tim Holtz to move the color around. I think I kind of got the look of the inspiration picture. After the ink had dried I spritzed some white acrylic paint as stars over it.

The stars and moon also come in the Forest Backdrop die set. I've die cut them from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.

The two cute squirrels are from the Happy Hugs stamp set. I thought those two go great with the sentiment I used on this card.

Zwischen die Tannenbäume im Wald habe ich noch ein paar Pilze und Grasbüschel verteilt. Ja, auch die sind im Forest Backdrop Set enthalten.

Für den Text habe ich drei Stempel aus dem Set Dandy Day kombiniert. Die sind eigentlich geschwungen. Ich habe sie so gerade wie ich konnte in mein Misti geklebt und dann auf grünen Cardstock abgestempelt. Anschließend habe ich den Text weiß embosst. Er ist noch ein klein wenig wellig, aber ich finde, das fällt kaum auf.

Between the trees I added a few toadstools and grass. Yes, also these come in the Forest Backdrop die set.

For the text I combined three stamps from the Dandy Day stamp set. Oringially these are a bit curved. I placed them as straight as possible into my Misti and stamped them onto a strip of green cardstock. Then I white heat embossed the text. It's still a little bit wonky, but I think it's only visible if you know it.

Für den Mechanismus habe ich das Swish and Pop Stanzenset benutzt. Der Mechanismus ist hinter den Hügeln versteckt, der bewegliche Arm ist aus Acetate gestanzt. 

For the mechanism I used the Swish and Pop die set. The mechanism is hidden behind the hills, the moving arm is die cut from acetate.
