Hallo Ihr Lieben!
Ich habe es ja schon befürchtet - das Thema der neusten LawnFawnatics Challenge ist "Christmas in July". Ich tu mich da immer total schwer, denn Weihnachten ist eines der letzten Dinge, an die ich im Sommer denke, erst recht, wenn eben erst das Wetter mal sommerlich wird. Aber ich habe trotzdem eine Karte gemacht - und hier ist sie.

I already feared it - the theme of the neweste LawnFawnatics challenge is "christmas in july". I always have a hard time with this because christmas is one of the last things I think of during summer, even more when the weather has finally realized that summer is here. But I still managed to make a card - and here it is.
Wir wissen ja alle, dass Faultiere langsam sind. Seeehr langsam. Dieses hier hat noch nicht die Energie gefunden, die Weihnachtsdeko von letztem Jahr wegzuräumen und lieber das ein oder andere ausgiebige Nickerchen gemacht. Nun ist er aufgewacht und fragt sich, ob es sich überhaupt lohnt, die Deko noch wegzuräumen - bei seinem Arbeitstempo. Vorsichtshalber erkundigt er sich mal, ob vielleicht schon wieder Weihnachten ist. Denn das Gefühl für Zeit ist ihm während der vielen Schläfchen auch abhanden gekommen....
Ich habe hier ein Stück dunkelgrünen Cardstock genommen und mit Distress Oxide EvergreenBough, Pine Needles, Peacock Feathers und Rustic Wilderness und dem Tropical Leaves Background Stencil die Blätter aufgewischt. Den Rand des Cardstocks habe ich zudem etwas abgedunkelt.
Dann habe ich den Tropical Leaves Backdrop aus hellgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und ihn von außen her mit Cracked Pistacchio, Evergreen Bough und Rustic Wilderness gewischt.
Auf beide Cardstockstücke habe ich dann weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt.
We all know that sloths are slow. Veeery slow. This one hasn't worked up the energy yet to put aways last year's christmas decorations, instead he took more than just a few naps. Now he woke up and is wondering, if it's worth the hassle to put it away - escpecially with the speed he's usually working. Just in case he's asking if it is christmas already. Because with all the naps he also lost track of time...
I cut a piece from dark green cardstock and inked the leaves onto it using the Tropical Leaves Backdrop stencil and Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, Peacock Feathers and Rustic Wilderness. I also darkened the edges of the cardstock.
Then I die cut the Tropical Leaves Backdrop from light green cardstock and inked the edges with Cracked Pistacchio, Evergreen Bough and Rustic Wilderness.
I splattered white acrylic paint onto both pieces.
Das kleine Faultier ist aus dem Set Hang in There - ich habe ihm die Nikolausmütze von Santa aus dem Set HoHoHolidays aufgesetzt.
Hinter ihm ist ein weiterer Ast aus dem Set A Bug Deal zu sehen. Der ist so schön nah, dass das Faultier hier seine Weihnachtssocke aufgehängt hat. So muss es sich zum Abnehmen der gefüllten Socke nicht so weit strecken.... Die Socke ist aus dem Set Christmas Before 'n Afters. Alle Elemente auf der Karte sind mit Copics coloriert.
The little sloth is from the Hang in There set - he's wearing Santa's hat from the HoHoHolidays set.
Behind him there's another branch from the A Bug Deal set. This one's wonderfully close, so the sloth has decided to hang up his stocking there. Once it's filled he won't have to stretch so much to reach it.... The stocking is from the Christmas Before 'n Afters set. I colored all images with Copics.
Für den Text musste ich wieder Stempel aus verschiedenen Sets kombinieren: Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments, Plane and Simple und Snow Cool. Das Fragezeichen ist aus dem Set A Bug Deal. Ich habe den Text auf hellen, grün-blauen Cardstock gestempelt und die Streifen nach dem Ausschneiden ein wenig mit Copics schattiert.
For the text I had to combine stamps from different sets again: Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments, Plane and Simple and Snow Cool. The question mark is from the A Bug Deal set. I stamped the text onto light blue-ish green cardstock and then shaded the strips lightly with Copics.
Für die Weihnachtsdeko von letztem Jahr habe ich einige Christbaumkugeln aus den Sets Joy to the Woods und Winter Birds Add-On abgestempelt, coloriert und ausgeschnitten.
Und sogar die Lichterkette hängt noch in den Blättern. Die ist mit der Mini String of Lights Stanze gemacht. Ich habe die ganzen Lichterketten aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und hiervon später nur die Glühbirnen samt Fassung verwendet. Die Glühbirnen habe ich wieder aus dem grün-blauen Cardstock gestanzt, mit Copics schattiert und dann mit Glossy Accents überzogen.
Nach dem Trocknen habe ich sie zusammen mit den Christbaumkugeln zwischen die Blätter geklebt. Als Kabel der Lichterkette habe ich ein Stück schwarzes Twine verwendet und von einer Glühbirne zur nächsten durch die Blätter gewickelt.
Die Christbaumkugeln habe ich ein wenig mit Stickles beglittert.
Und ganz zum Schluss habe ich beschlossen, noch ein paar tropische Blumen auf die Karte zu bringen. Kurz hatte ich überlegt, hier kleine Weihnachtsstern-Blüten zu verwenden, dann aber lieber die Hibiskusblüten aus dem Set Magic Iris Tropical Leaves Add-On zu benutzen. Ich habe alles aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, die Blütenmitten gelb, die Blüten zartrosa coloriert und nach dem Aufkleben auch hier ein wenig Stickles aufgetragen.
For the christmas decorations I stamped some ornaments from the sets Joy to the Woods and Winter Birds Add-On, colored them and cut them out.
And even the christmas lights are still wrapped around the jungle leaves. I made that with the Mini String of Lights die, die cutting the whole strings from black cardstock. From those I cut off the light bulbs and sockets and only used those. The light bulb I die cut again from the blue-ish green cardstock, shaded them with Copics and covered them with Glossy Accents.
After the Glossy Accents had dried I put the lights and the ornaments between the leaves. As the string I used a piece of black twine, wrapping it around the leaves from one bulb to the next.
The ornaments I glittered with a bit of Stickles.
And very last minute I decided to add a few tropical flowers. I had considered small poinsettia flowers but then went with these hibiskus flowers from the Magic Iris Tropical Leaves Add-On die set. I die cut them from white cardstock, colored the flower centers yellow, the flowers a very soft pink and after adhering them put Stickles onto them.
Ich habe dünnes und dickes 3D Tape zum Zusammensetzen der Karte verwendet und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
I used thin and thick foam tape to put the scene together and then adhered it to a white card base.
