Wir sind ja direkt, nachdem meine Bestellung mit dem letzten LawnFawn-Release bei mir angekommen ist, in Urlaub gefahren. Und jetzt taste ich mich langsam mal an die tollen Produkte heran. Heute habe ich diese "krabbelige" Halloweenkarte für Euch.

We went on vacation right after my order from LawnFawn's latest release arrived. So now I am finally starting to use some of those great products. Today I have this crawl-some Halloween card to share.
Die Idee zu der Karte kam mir, als mir eingefallen ist, wie sich meine Mädels früher gerne gegenseitig Gruselgeschichten vorgelesen haben. Und das ist doch die perfekte Beschäftigung für Halloween!
Für den Hintergrund habe ich einen der Spiderweb Background Stencils genommen und auf ein Stück weißen Cardstock gelegt. Dann habe ich ihn mit Distress Ink Crackling Campfire, Aged Mahogany und Black Soot gewischt. Damit habe ich dann auch die untere linke, eigentlich weiß bleibende Ecke sowie die Ränder gewischt. Dann habe ich durch den Stencil zuerst eher fleckig die transparent-matte Paste von Ranger aufgetragen. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich ebenfalls durch den Stencil die Stellen ohne Paste mit dem Icicle Paste gefüllt. Eigentlich ist das eine Crackling Paste, aber bei mir im Bastelzimmer war es wohl zu warm und die Paste reißt nicht mehr. Dafür hinterlässt sie einen wundervollen Glanz. Dann habe ich auf den kompletten Cardstock noch goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.
I got the idea for this card when I remembered, that my girls loved to read each other spooky stories when they were small. And I think, that's the perfect activity for Halloween!
For the background I used one of the Spiderweb Background stencils and put it onto a piece of white cardstock. Then I inked it with Distress Ink Crackling Campfire, Aged Mahogany and Black Soot. I used the black also to fill in the bottom left area, that stays white with this stencil, and also to darken the edges. Then I added some transparent matte paste by Ranger through the stencil, keeping it splotchy on purpose. After the paste had dried I filled the still empty areas with the Icicle paste. Well, that's originally a crackling paste, but during summer it's kind of warm in my craftroom and so the paste doesn't crack anymore. Instead it leaves an amazing shine.
Then I splattered some gold metallic watercolor onto the background.
Im unteren Bereich der Karte befinden sich all die Bücher, die zu Halloween so gebraucht werden. Und da es sich hier wohl um die Bücher einer Hexe handelt, erklärt sich auch, warum die alle nicht wirklich ordentlich im Regal stehen sondern eher wirr gestapelt sind...
Die Bücher sind mit dem Book Collection Stanzenset gemacht. Ich habe sie aus hellrotem, dunkelrotem und dunkelbraunem Cardstock gestanzt und die Seiten natürlich aus weißem Cardstock. Denen habe ich dann mit Polychromos einige Details verliehen, die übrigen Buchteile habe ich mit Distress Ink Aged Mahogany, Scorched Timber und Black Soot etwas gewischt. Außderm habe ich die Muster mit matt-goldenem Metallic-Cardstock hinterlegt und entlang der gestanzten Linien einen goldenen Gelstift aufgetragen. Die Einmerker habe ich ebenfalls aus matt-goldenem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt.
Zwischen den Bücher befinden sich ganz viele und wirklich süße Spinnen sowie ein paar Bücherwürmer. Die Motive sind aus den Sets Sweet Spiders, Little Woodland Library und Sweet Spiders Add-On. Dazu habe ich dann noch Kristalle und ein paar Hexentrankflaschen aus dem Set Purr-fectly Wicked sowie zwei Spinnennetze, gestanzt aus Vellum, gesetzt. Das eine Spinnennetz ist aus dem Build-a-House Halloween Add-On Set, das andere von HoneyBeeStamps.
Alle Motive habe ich mit Copics coloriert. Auf die Bücher habe ich noch Title gestempelt und dafür Stempel aus den Sets Purr-fectly Wicked und Sweet Spiders benutzt.
In the lower half of the card there all those books that are needed during Halloween time. And since these are books of a witch it's easy to understand, why there aren't lined up neatly on a shelf but stacked in a more messy way....
For the books I used the Book Collection die set. I die cut them from light red, dark red and dark brown cardstock and the pages of course from white. To those white pieces I added some Details with Polychromos, the other book pieces I lightly inked with Distress Ink Aged Mahogany, Scorched Timber and Black Soot. I put some matte gold metallic cardstock behind the cut out details in each book and also used a gold gel pen to draw lines next to the ones cut into the cardstock. The "bookmarks"/hassels I die cut from the same matte gold cardstock.
Between those books you can find a few really cute spiders and also some bookworms. The images are from the sets Sweet Spiders, Little Woodland Library and Sweet Spiders Add-On. I also added a few crystals and some potion bottles from the Purr-fectly Wicked set and some spiderwebs cut from vellum. One of them is from the Build-a-House Halloween Add-On set, the other one by HoneyBeeStamps.
I colored all images with Copics. Onto the books I stamped titles using stamps from the Sweet Spiders and the Purr-fectly Wicked sets.
Und von der oberen rechten Ecke der Karte seilt sich eine weitere Spinne mit dem nächsten Buch ab. Da die übrigen Bücher für sie viel zu groß und schwer für die Spinne gewesen wären, habe ich eines der kleineren aus dem Stitched Bookmark Stanzenset benutzt. Die Spinne hängt von einem dünnen, goldenen Metallicfaden herab.
Oben links auf der Karte war Platz für meinen Text. Der ist eine Kombi aus Stempeln aus den Sets Sweet Spiders, Sweet Spiders Add-On und Little Woodland Library und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.
Dann habe ich noch drei kleine Fliegen auf der Karte verteilt.
From the top right corner of the card onther little spider is dangling down, delivering another book. Since those other books would have been way too large and heavy for this little spider I used one of the smaller ones from the Stitched Bookmark die set. The spider is dangling down on a piece of thin gold metallic thread.
To the top left I added my sentiment. It's made with a combination of stamps from the sets Sweet Spiders, Sweet Spiders Add-On and Little Woodland Library and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.
Then I also added three little flies to the card.
Hier sieht man den tollen Glanz der "Crackling" Paste - außerdem lässt sie die Farben im Hintergrund noch intensiver wirken.
Zum Zusammensetzen der Karte habe ich dann wieder dünnes und dickes 3D Tape benutzt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
Here you can see the great shine of the "crackling" paste - it also makes the colors in the background appear even more intense.
To put the card together I used thin and thick foam tape once again, then attached the card panel to a white note card.
